I'm sorry about the late update for this story. I started a new job and it has be pretty busy. I'm also working on my other fanfic as well and starting another one too. So far I am working on three different fanfics and plan on making more. I hope that you all enjoy.
Chapter 26: Crazy Plan
Tenya and Ochako look at Izuku with their full attention. Izuku points at the crowd of students then above their heads. The ceiling of the cafeteria has hanging lights that he's pointing at. They look back at the green haired boy in confusion while also trying to stay standing. All the students are rushing towards the exits making it difficult to move and not get trampled.
"Ochako can you make me weightless?"
Izuku asks the girl making her nod at him still not understanding. Izuku grins at her nod then looks at Tenya who stands at attention. Using his finger to make a small flame, he shows them then puts it out.
"Can you use your quirk to spin yourself around while holding me and throw me into the air? I can use my flame to get the attention of everyone then tell them it's just the press!"
He yells at them through the sounds of all the students running and shoving. Both Ochako and Tenya nod at the plan, impressed that he thought of it on the fly. Ochako quickly places her hand on Izuku's shoulder removing his gravity. After that Tenya grabs his arm and uses the engines on his legs to quickly spin around then throw him into the air. When Izuku flys above the students he quickly ignites a flame in both of his hands and waves them around while shouting.
"Everybody calm down! We aren't in any danger, it's only the press that's outside!"
The students notice the fire from his hands and watch as he hovers above their heads. Izuku uses the flames to control where he floats so that he doesn't crash into any walls. He points towards the windows making most of the students look. Once they see the news crews outside they look around in embarrassment.
"Calm yourselves! We're students of U.A! We can't lose our cool when something happens! We're supposed to be heroes in training!"
Izuku shouts more to the students, who all begin to calm down. Tenya, Kyoka, and Ochako watch with smiles on their faces as their friend nullifies the situation. Izuku grabs onto one of the hanging lights to hold himself steady. As all the students get situated Kyoka uses one of her jacks to wrap around Izuku's ankle and bring him back down. Once he's back to the three of them Ochako places her fingers together.
"Release!"
She shouts and the gravity returns to Izuku making him fall back to the ground without any trouble. Kyoka places a hand on his shoulder and they both look at each other with wide grins. Ochako sees their interaction with a slightly annoyed expression while Tenya nods in affirmation. A few teachers enter the cafeteria to make sure that no one is injured. The bell rings signaling the end of lunch making almost everyone groan at the time lost.
"That was a very well thought out plan Midoriya. Very inspirational on getting everyone to settle down."
Tenya says while they all walk back to class. Kyoka stands on his other side and nods while punching his shoulder. Ochako places both her hands on his shoulders from behind and happily bounces around. This time Kyoka is the one looking at her with an annoyed expression.
"That was so cool Izu! You looked like a real hero flying around like that! It was like Endeavor and his fire quirk!"
Izuku's face heats up at all the praise he is getting from his classmates. He can see the other students also giving him looks of admiration. Out of everyone congratulating him, he notices one person glaring daggers at him. Katsuki's scowl could kill if given the chance making Izuku raise an eyebrow. Before he can ponder too much about it Kyoka takes his hand and leads the group back to class.
-Homeroom-
Everyone slowly gets back to the classroom while discussing what happened in the cafeteria. Once it was discovered it was the press who made it on the school grounds the panic quickly clamed. Various faculty of the school eventually got the news crews to leave although some put up more of a fight than others. The homeroom is buzzing with what Izuku did during the panic with most of them congratulating him. Katsuki is still glaring at him like he wants to blow him to pieces.
"That was so cool, Midoriya! You looked like a comic book hero flying around like that!"
"How did you get so high above everyone?"
"Did you plan all that on your own?"
Are what a few of the students say and ask the boy while surrounding his desk. Izuku looks around in embarrassment at the praise and talking. His face is glowing red and he tries to find Ochako, Tenya, and Kyoka who helped him with the situation. Tenya is standing behind the crowd though he stills has that look of admiration. Ochako is sandwiched between Ashido and Hagakure with a smile aimed at him. Kyoka is by his side with a grin and thumbs up aimed at him.
"W-well I didn't do it on my own. Ochako made me weightless and Tenya threw me above everyone. Aslo K-Kyoka pulled me down so that I didn't have to fall when Ochako returned my gravity."
Most of them smile at hearing him explain what happened. The only ones that aren't surrounding his desk are Katsuki and Todoroki, who are still at their own. The chatter is making Izuku a bit light headed but he snaps to attention when Aizawa walks through the door. Everyone sees his reaction and also look at the door in surprise. In record time all the students are back in their seats making the underground hero grin widely.
"Before we begin I would like to say good job on nullifying the situation Midoriya. You asset the panic and asked your fellow classmates for help like a hero should."
Izuku beems at what the teacher says and nods happily at the man. Aizawa walks up to the white board and begins to write something in big letters. Izuku and everyone else is watching closely as he continues to write. On the white board the words 'Hero Rescue Training' gets the attention of everyone. Excited murmers can be heard throughout the class making Aizawa sigh. Izuku wonders if the training will be similar to the battle training.
"Tomorrow we will be going to a separate U.A building for rescue training. All Might, myself, and another hero will be going over different scenarios for you all to run rescue missions."
Katsuki lets out an annoyed grunt at the hero training. Izuku can practically feel the malice coming off of the blonde with the strong scent of caramel. The class whispers ideas of what the rescue training will be like. Aizawa takes out his sleeping bag and climbs into it.
"You all have the rest of class to talk amongst yourselves as long as you do so quietly."
He says while flashing his quirk making everyone's spine tingle a bit. The red eyes are a little scary when the man is annoyed or angry. As soon as he is behind his desk and in caterpillar form, the students move from their desks into different groups to talk quietly. Izuku takes out hie current notebook and flips through the pages to catch up on his latest notes. To his surprise Kyoka appears next to him with her jacks tapping his notebook.
"So like, what do you write in that notebook of yours? You seem to always have it around when not busy."
She asks him while fiddling with the other jack around her finger. He lookw at her with a semi embarrassed expression and slowly hands her the notebook. She raises an eyebrow while looking through the pages. He expects her to make fun of him after reading the pages but it surprised when she nods in interest.
"Wow, you take really good notes on people and their quirks. But what gives, where's my page huh?"
Izuku looks at her like she has grown a secone head. All his life he was told that his gift for analysis was creepy except for his mother. He rubs the back of his head shyly and lets out an awkward chuckle. Kyoka looks at him curiously, waiting for an answer. He reaches into his backpack and takes out a smaller notebook handing it to her. She grins while taking the notebook.
"I've been using that notebook to write about the other student's quirks and how they can use them. Your analysis is the first few pages."
The grin on her face got wider at hearing she is the first one in the notebook. The first page describes how she looks and her jacks on her ears. She blushes at the detail of the description making Izuku hide his face. The other pages describe her quirk through how Izuku saw her use it. He hasn't added the information that she gave during lunch.
"Your analysis is actually really good. You got most of the information about my quirk right. This part about using my jacks to fry tech is something I haven't tried. Sounds like something fun to mess around with."
She says while pointing at the notebook. He nods at what she says while reaching for the notebook. Before he can grab it, Ochako appears and snatches the notebook from Kyoka's hand. Izuku is surprised while Kyoka is visibly annoyed at her presence.
"Hey, whatcha guys looking at?"
The bubbly girl asks while flipping through the notebook. She was listening to them while they talked and heard that he wrote down their quirk information in the notebook. She finds her page and quickly reads through the information. Before she can read half the page Kyoka snatches the notebook back and shuts it. Both girls glare at each other with Izuku looking between them confused.
"What the heck Jiro, I was reading that!?"
Ochako whisper shouts while making sure she didn't disturb Aizawa. The rocker girl only glares more while handing the notebook back to Izuku. He takes it back and puts it back into his backpack.
"You shouldn't just grab things that don't belong to you. Plus that notebook of his is private. He let me look at it on his own accord."
Izuku tries to wave off the rude moment and looks at Tenya for help. To his disappointment, Tenya is talking to Yaoyorozu about class president stuff. Thankfully the frog girl, Tsuyu walks up to them with a curious expression. She stands on the other side of Izuku's desk and raises her hand to get his attention. The other girls look at her with peeled eyes.
"Excuse me ribbit, but the vibe here seems a little off. Just wondering what's happening."
Izuku let's out an exhausted sigh at the blunt girl's approach. As he let's out the breath smoke comes out making him jump and wave it away. Suddenly he feels a piercing stare at his back that feels different from Katsuki's. He turns around to see the boy with purple balls on his head sending him glares that sre both envy and angry. Next to him is Kaminari who is looking at him in a similar way minus the angry look.
'Huh, I wonder what their deal is. I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything to them.'
Izuku thinks to himself as he shrugs off their looks making the purple boy even angrier. Before Kyoka and Ochako can argue any more the bell rings signalling the end of class and school day. Everyone packs all of their belongings and starts to head home. Aizawa gets out of his sleeping back and folds it up while yawning.
"Remember to be ready for the rescue training after classes tomorrow. This is another step in learning how to he heroes. Don't take the training lightly."
The man says in a serious tone that makes everyone nod in determination. Everyone leaves the class going off in different groups. Izuku manages to slip away from the girl trio and finds Tenya walking towards the gate. He runs to catch up to the other boy but a hand harshly grabs onto his shoulder. On instict he smacks the hand away and sees Katsuki looking more pissed than ever.
"What the hell was that stunt in the cafeteria Deku?! You think that showing off will prove you're better than me? And what the hell is that electricity you used on me, huh?! Have you been holding back this whole time?"
The blonde shouts at him angrily with smoke coming out of his palms. The smell of caramel fills the air as small pops are heard coming from his hands. Izuku doesn't waver as he has gotten more confidence over the years of training with Rengoku and Iroh. The greenette glares back at Katsuki and steps forward surprising him. The both of them stare each other down for what feels like an eternity.
"Not everything is about you Katsuki. You may think that you are the best but there are others who would rival or even best you. Yes, you are strong and amazing, but strength isn't everything."
Izuku says to him while holding out his hand and igniting a flame on his palm. The look on Katsuki's face is nothing but pure anger. Unknown to the two, a crowd of students has formed around them wondering what is happening. Before anything else can happen Kirishima steps between them ready to activate his hardening quirk incase something happens.
"Hey, hey there's no need for a fight to happen. We're all classmates after all and it wouldn't be manly to fight your friends."
Izuku takes a step back allowing the red head to get in front of him. He wasn't planning on starting a fight but he wasn't going to let Katsuki bully him any longer. He's been wanting to give the explosive boy a piece of his mind for a while too. He thinks back to what Iroh told him when he was younger.
'Fire bending comes from the breath not the muscles.'
Katsuki stares at Izuku with hatred that could blast down concrete walls. He has never been talked to that way until now. Especially from his old fri- no someone so below him. How could anyone be better him? Without a word he shoves past the crowd that formed around them. Izuku watches him walk away and lets out a breath with smoke leaving his mouth.
