"Uncle told me you came into the shop early this morning. Why?"
Azula looked up from her history homework to glance over at Zuko standing in the threshold of her bedroom with his arms crossed.
She sighed softly and returned to her homework.
"Well, I didn't know it was a bad thing for me to want some morning tea from Ba Sing Se's most renowned tea shop."
"Maybe not but it is suspicious when you meet Aang of all people there to talk. What did you have to meet Aang to talk about? You guys barely even know each other."
"Well ZuZu if you must know, Aang and I have been secretly dating since freshman year. We didn't want anyone to know about us because of the obvious division between our two cultures. We've also had sex plenty of times and I am currently pregnant with his child. We plan to elope tomorrow night and skip town to start a new life together," she said sarcastically.
Azula tossed him a faux smile over her shoulder before turning back to the homework assignment that was beyond late.
She waited for Zuko to huff and walk away from her like he normally did when she was being sarcastic with him but when she didn't hear his footsteps recede, she gave up on her homework and fully turned in her chair to face him.
He was frowning more than usual insinuating that he was beginning to get seriously upset with her.
"Stop with the sarcasm. I want to hear no lies only the truth. What do you need from Aang?
Azula rolled her eyes and stood to stretch. She winced slightly. Her lower back and abdomen was aching more and more as it stretched and grew to accommodate the small life within her.
"Who says there wasn't a truth in what I said. "
Azula placed her hands on her hips and smirked.
"Tell you what, if you can guess which point from my sarcastic remark is the truth, I'll tell you everything you want to know. Get it wrong and you leave me alone and never butt into my personal business again."
Zuko glared but complied.
"Good, I will wait," Azula said as she plopped herself back down into her desk chair.
" None of it makes sense Azula! You and Aang dating for years without any of his friends or your friends knowing, Impossible! There is no way Aang would ever have sex with—ugh! It so sickening to me that I cant even say it. So there is no way you are pregnant. At least not for-" Zuko stopped pacing.
Azula watched him abruptly turn to face her. Waiting to see what he would figure out.
"No way Azula! You aren't that stupid! Are you?" He glanced down at her stomach and back up to her face with a look of horror on his own.
Azula shrugged and put out an nonchalant façade. She somewhat cared about his opinions of her and figured he deserved to know he would be an uncle in less than 8 months.
"Doctor says I'm about two months along. Should start showing in no time." She tells him while patting her still flat tummy gently.
Zuko looked shocked. He stepped further into her room, shutting the door behind him and plopped himself on the foot of her bed.
He stared her dead in the eye for few moments as though he was trying to see a crack in her demeanor.
When he realized that she was serious about this he placed his head in both hands and groaned loudly.
"Seriously Azula. Have you never heard of protection?"
Azula glared at his slouched form.
"Of course, I know about protection!" She yelled at him," It just... that night Aang and I were very drunk when it happened so obviously, we didn't—"
"—Wait, that entire part was true?! You and Aang!? That baby is really Aang's?!"
Zuko paced in frustration and confusion.
"What were you two thinking? Do you know what trouble this is going to create? How many people's lives this will disrupt?"
Azula rolled her eyes at his antics. Here he goes thinking about the Water Tribe chick. What was everyone's infatuation with her anyway? Sure, the girl is pretty, but her personality and style was considerably bleak. Not to mention, that just being in the same room as the girl always grated on Azula's nerves. She was just so agitating, along with her annoying brother.
"Relax Zuzu, dad won't even know for another two months and no one else who matters comes to mind."
He glared fiercely at her.
"It's not dad I'm worried about Azula. Aang and Katara resolved their issues after that party. They only recently got back together. Not only that but a lot of the Gang aren't exactly your biggest fans seeing as you've always been a bitch to them and others."
Azula crossed her arms and frowned.
Whatever Aang's relationship with Katara was had nothing to do with her. Aang knew what he was getting into when he was with Azula. She did feel as though she was sharing him with her.
Azula was never very good at sharing things she truly cared about. That's why Azula chose to let whatever her relationship with Aang go regardless of what she may feel.
"Well, that is Aang's problem, not mine. I could care less about that girl; she is below me. And does it look as though I care about what you guys' stupid, immature group of friends think of me? Cause quite frankly I don't.
Zuko scowled then.
"Relax Zuzu. I am not even sure if I am keeping the kid. I'm going to find a loving and kind family that will want it instead," She drawled out.
Zuko looked taken aback.
"You actually plan on giving birth to this kid only to give it away to a couple of strangers?"
"Yes," she said with no hesitation, "Did you think I, of all people, would be able to raise a child?"
Of course, she still wasn't sure what her decision was, but she did want to mess with Zuko for butting into her business.
She smirked in amusement when he opened his mouth to rant at her. Here he goes overreacting again.
"I just think you should think it over again. Whether you decide to bring a child into this world or into this family, out of wedlock and especially with someone like Aang, isn't intelligent.
"I'm aware of the consequences Zuko. Don't worry about my decisions. I will make the best ones for me and the child."
"I hope so and hopefully no one else gets hurt as consequences of your choices," Zuko said before stalking out of the room leaving Azula to ponder.
Azula growled and frowned deeply. She stood in from of her walk up mirror and glared at her form.
Nothing fucking fit anymore! There where her belly was once flat was now a small bulge that was growing every day as the child within her developed.
None of her pants or fitted shirts fit anymore! It was deeply frustrating. Azula was always a size 4,not so much anymore.
She growled again before throwing her door open and stomping her way towards Zuko room. She didn't bother to knock before barging in.
"Hey! Get out of my room!"
Azula ignored him and made her way to his closet to search for something she could wear.
She found a black, Green Day shirt along with black sweatpants.
"Turn around," Se demanded before quickly changed into it all while ignoring Zuko's protests, though he listened as soon as he saw her start to take her shirt off. When she turned to finally face him, she found he had turned around to avoid seeing her changing.
"I'm finished."
He swiveled around to face her; his face was red in embarrassment and annoyance.
"What the hell Azula?! Keep out of my stuff!"
"Sorry but I needed to borrow an outfit that fits. Don't worry, we won't have this issue tomorrow. I'm going shopping after school today with Ty Lee, so I'll be home late. See you later ZuZu."
She sent a wave goodbye behind her as she walked out before he could say more and headed back to her room to finish getting ready before heading to school.
