On June 18, the world of sports lost a great legend. Willie Mays, also known as the 'Say Hey Kid', passed away at age 93.

Hugo has always felt like he lives in the shadow of his older brother Axel, especially when it comes to flying derby, when all he hears about is how great Axel was. He also doubts himself when he has to hear about his brother, uncle, and grandfather being on the flying derby team and their victories. However, when his father, who was also on the team, hears him doubting himself, he decides to help boost Hugo's confidence as well by singing the same song his father used to sing to him, reminding him that he is good enough to be on the team. Kenny Rogers' music is not mine, and on a more serious note, rest in peace Willie Mays.

Puts his bat in his shoulder and he tosses up his ball.

(as he recalls Hugo's tryout for the Flying Derby team) Now the little boy doesn't say a word, picks up his ball he is undeterred.
Says, "I am the greatest that there has ever been"
And he grits his teeth and he tries again.
And the ball goes up and the ball comes down,
Swings his bat all the way around
The world so still you can hear the sound, the baseball falls to the ground.

(as he recalls how Hugo flipped on his first horse in the air) He makes no excuses he shows no fear
He just closes his eyes and listens to the cheers.

(as he watches Hugo fly with Electra) Little boy he adjusts his hat, picks up his ball, stares at his bat
Says "I am the greatest when the game is on the line"
And he gives his all one last time.

(as he learns that Hugo will fill in for James during the Flying Crown race) And the ball goes up and the moon so bright
Swings his bat with all his might
The world's as still as still can be, the baseball falls
And that's strike three.

(as he watches Hugo and Sofia celebrate their victory) Now it's suppertime and his momma calls,
Little boy starts home with his bat and ball.
Says, "I am the greatest, that is a fact,
But even I didn't know I could pitch like that!"
Says, "I am the greatest, that is understood,
But even I didn't know I could pitch that good!"
