A Horrifying Discovery.

After several hours of preparing and resting up for their new mission, Nova, Theron, Lena, Genji and Angela were finally ready to leave. They used Lena's ship once again, much to her annoyance as she was getting tired of putting her ship in danger over and over again as she really liked her ship. But she knew it was necessary for the mission so she didn't make a fuss... Well at least it wasn't a big fuss. As they approached their destination, they were being briefed that what they feared had come to pass... The zergs had reached a planet, Felucia. They had no idea how the zergs had made it all the way to an outer rim planet, but Felucia was rich with life for the zergs to feed off, so safe to say their mission was extremely important. They soon arrived at the planet and so far it didn't look like the zergs had spread far, but if there was one thing they knew about zergs: Sometimes you don't notice them... until they're on top of you.

Lena flew down to the planet "These are the coordinates we were given... But there isn't a lot of clearings, I may have to drop you off nearby so you can approach on foot".

"We have to walk through all this? Great..." Theron said annoyed.

"Felucia is already full of dangerous fauna, if the zergs have succeed in building a hive... I don't even want to imagine what could happen" Nova said, clearly unnerved by the whole situation.

Angela closes her eyes "There is a dark presence on this planet... like a hunger... and bloodlust".

"I can sense it too... The zerg are here" Genji said as he could also feel the darkness.

"Drop us off as close to the location as you can, and try to do some aerial scouting to help us look" Nova ordered Lena.

"Got it, be careful" Lena said as she flies down and overs above a small clearing. Not big enough to land, but enough for her team to jump out and Lena flies back up to scout the area from above.

Theron looked around "Ok, the air around here is already suffocating. Not to mention we're far more vulnerable on foot".

"Still, we should spread out so we can cover more ground" Nova said.

"I'm afraid I have to disagree with you on that, Nova. If we walk off alone, we'll only make ourselves easier targets. We should stick together and cover each other's backs" Angela said.

Nova looked at her "You don't give the orders here".

"I do actually. Malcom called me in because of my knowledge about genetics of different creatures, and he placed me in direct command of the team. You will be following my lead, Nova" Angela said in a stern yet calm tone.

"She's right Nova, splitting up is to risky this time. I know you prefer to go alone, but you will have to accept that this is a team mission" Genji said before Nova could argue.

"Fine..." Nova said, clearly annoyed, but there was nothing she could do.

With that settled, they headed deeper in to the thick jungle. Nova wasn't keen on taking orders from a jedi again, but she didn't have much of a choice. She could only hope this mission didn't turn out like the last time she worked with a jedi.

Meanwhile on the frozen moon of Northrend, Arthas and his men had finally arrived to hunt for Mal'Ganis, the monster responsible for the suffering of Arthas' people. Several of his allies had already abandoned him, but he still has several ships and troops with him.

The Captain of the troops could barely keep himself from shaking "This is a forsaken moon, isn't it? You can barely even see the light! This howling frozen wind cuts to the bone and my armor's internal heater can barely keep up, but you're not even shaking. Sir, are you alright?".

Arthas was silent for a moment before answering "Captain, are all my forces accounted for?".

The Captain checks his communicator "Nearly. There are only a few ships that-".

"Very well. Our first priority is to set up a base with proper defenses. The dark side is strong here... There's no telling what's waiting for us out there in the shadows" Arthas said as he began moving forward.

The troops follow Arthas in search of a good location to build a camp. Eventually, they reach an open area. The area had some resources they could use and the surrounding mountain walls provided cover from the freezing winds. It was perfect for a base. And if Arthas was going to face Mal'Ganis' army, he would need every advantage he could get.

"This place looks good enough. We'll set up base here" Arthas ordered, but as they moved forward to start building, several blaster bolts hit the ground in front of them, making Arthas pull out his lightsaber out of instinct "We're under attack! Take cover!".

But suddenly a familiar voice for Arthas was heard "Bloody Hell! You're not undead! You're all alive!"

"Muradin? Muradin Bronzebeard, is that you?" Arthas said as he quickly put his saber away when he noticed his old friend

A dwarf wearing republic armor approached them. Muradin Bronzebeard was one of Arthas' old combat instructors when he was a kid, before he was taken in for jedi training. Arthas hasn't seen him in years, and he sure didn't expect to meet him here of all places.

"Damn, boy, I never imagined that you'd be the one to come to our rescue!" Muradin said happily.

Arthas looked confused "Rescue? Muradin, I didn't even know you were here".

"Just the same, lad. I could use your help. My troops and I were attacked by those undead creatures and we got separated. I'd appreciate any backup you could give me" Muradin said.

"Of course I'll help, Muradin. Let's move!" Arthas said as he and his soldier joined Muradin's troops to find and rescue his missing soldiers.

The task wasn't easy as the cold and near endless undead made each rescue a struggle. Only one who didn't seem to be slowed down by the cold was Arthas himself as he was effortlessly cutting his way through any undead foolish enough to stand in his way and eventually he saves Muradin's men and then presses onward to a nearby undead base, which he destroys by ordering his rocket troopers to target a nearby mountain, causing a rock slide which crushed most of the undead defenses, making it easy for the living troops to clear them out. Arthas himself made sure to kill the remaining undead, cutting down several ghouls and noticed an arachnid looking undead approach him, firing web from it's mouth.

Arthas avoided the attack and used the force to crush the creature in to a bloody mess. The battle was won, but it's time for Arthas to get some answers from his old instructor.

"All right, Muradin. What were you doing on this moon, anyway?" Artha finally asked.

"Well, lad, there's an ancient way gate that lies somewhere in this glacial wasteland. Supposedly, it transports you to a hidden vault where an ancient lightsaber named Frostmourne is held. Legends says that it was forged from a rare type of crystal, creating a unique lightsaber far stronger than any saber you jedi like to swing around. We came here to recover Frostmourne, but the closer we came to finding the way gate, the more undead we encountered. It is clear they don't want us anywhere near it" Muradin explained.

Arthas rubs his chin in thought. Frostmourne, it's rare for a lightsaber to be given a name, and even rarer for one to be that special... If this lightsaber really is stronger than regular ones, then maybe...

One of Arthas' troops rushes up "General Arthas, we haven't found any trace of Mal'Ganis".

"No matter. He can't hide from me forever. Captain, I want you to establish this site as our primary base" Arthas ordered.

"Yes, sir" The captain said as he went to give the order to the workers.

Muradin could see the hate in Arthas' eyes... and it worried him as he knew what happens to jedi who let's their anger and hate take hold. But now that they had been reunited, perhaps Muradin could help Arthas overcome his problems and help him move on. But for now, they had the undead to worry about.

Back on Felucia, Lena was continuing her surveillance, flying around the area while scanning for anything out of the ordinary. She hadn't heard much from her teammates, other than a few status reports, and so far no signs of the zergs... which was really unnerving since it feels like the place should be crawling with those nasty creatures by now... but so far, nothing.

But Lena could sense that something was wrong... The force felt... strange. It was dark but didn't feel like a sith, it was more primal and... wild. Lena rubbed her head, this planet's darkness was getting to her. She closed her eyes and tried to focus her mind... until...

"Lena...".

Her eyes snapped open. That voice... It came from within her head? Why did it sound familiar? It sounded like...

"Lena... help me...".

"Emily?" Lena asked out loud, but that was impossible, Emily died a long time ago, Lena held her in her arms when she...

"Lena... please... help me...".

Lena could hear the voice more clearly now and looked down to see a large hole in the middle of the forest. Despite knowing that she should inform her team about this, for some reason Lena found herself flying down in to the hole. She even found a spot to land and got out of her ship. She looks around and saw several tunnels leading in different directions.

"Over here Lena, I'm over here".

Lena followed the voice, despite every bit of logical thinking screaming at her to stop and get out of there... But she couldn't and she found herself being drawn deeper in to the caves. It wasn't until she was deep within the caves that Lena finally stopped as she realized someone or something was luring her to this place. But it was to late as a tentacle wrapped around her leg and pulled her down in to a hole. Lena screamed in surprise as she quickly reached for her lightsaber, barely managing to turn it on and cut the tentacle off, freeing her leg. She got back up as the tentacle slithered away.

Her freedom was short lived as more tentacles attacked her. She managed to cut off several of them until they finally got a hold of her arms and legs and she was lifted in to the air, making her drop her lightsaber in the process. She struggled for a bit but the tentacles were to strong, and without her weapon she couldn't cut herself free. Suddenly a much darker voice was heard.

"Your emotions betray you. Making your mind so easy to manipulate. Your race's love for one another is your greatest evolutionary flaw, useless emotions blinding you to what's directly in front of you"

Lena looked and saw a massive fleshy eye in front of her. And there were a lot of flesh around them, covering the walls and sealing, and it all was a part of the creature's massive body.

"W-What are you?" Lena asked in fear.

"I am the combined might of the swarm. I am the Overmind" The creature answered.

Lena stares at the colossal creature in pure terror, this was the creature that tricked her in to coming down here... It's power was so immense it made Lena feel so small. It was an abomination, a mockery to all natural beings in the galaxy... but there was nothing Lena could do, she was trapped. She cursed herself for allowing herself to be so easily tricked by this monster. She hadn't heard Emily's voice in so long and the smallest chance of her being alive made Lena's emotions override her logic... Looks like she hadn't fully moved on after all and her emotions were indeed a weakness.

"And now... you will tell us everything".

Tell me what you think.
