We're back on chapter twenty-four.
REMINDER: I DO NOT OWN LEGEND OF KORRA OR ANY OF THE CHARACTERS.
Meanwhile, at the harbour outside Future Industries. An empty cargo was closed, while two mecha tanks lift the cargo on board. Korra, Asami and Mako look on from the warehouse, which was filled with mecha tanks and biplanes.
"The ship's all loaded with the dummy crates. Let's get this sting operation going." Asami said.
"Not yet. We need some extra manpower." Mako said.
"I'm glad you're here to help me, Korra. No better muscle than the Avatar." Asami said.
"Thanks. I just needed this to be done so I can drink that potion and stop Harmonic Convergence from coming." Korra said.
Mako was still worried about Korra and the potion her uncle gave her. He had no idea if Sarlaq was telling the truth about the potion. Even though Mako broke up with Korra, but he still loved her.
"Korra, I still don't know about this potion Sarlaq gave you can help you with this Vaatu problem." Mako said with a caring tone.
"Mako, can I whisper to you?" Korra walked to Mako and about to whisper to his ear. "Don't ever talk to me!" she yelled in Mako's ear.
Mako was in pain in his ear since Korra yelled in his ear. "I was only trying to help."
"Do I look like I still need help from you?" Korra snapped.
Asami grabbed Korra. "Korra, now's not the time for this. We have to stick to the plan."
Korra and Asami walked away from Mako. Mako was still irritated with Korra's stubbornness anger, but he was still calm at the moment.
Meanwhile, outside the Triple Threat Triad headquarters, where Mako walked to the door, and he knocks at it.
A Triple Threat doorman slides open faceplate. "Hey, Mako. Whatever you think we did, we didn't do it."
"I'm not here on police business. I'm running an off-the-books operation, and I thought the Triple Threats might want a piece of the action."
"How big a piece?" the doorman asked.
Mako entered inside the headquarters, seated opposite Viper.
"So Mr. Law and Order needs our help, huh? What's in it for the Triple Threats?" Viper asked.
"I am personal friends with that Avatar. I might be able to convince her to give Shady Shin his bending back." Mako said.
"Sounds good to me, boss." Shady Shin said.
"What about the rest of us?" Viper asked again.
"Asami and Varrick's got vehicles, all brand-new and top of the line. They can be yours if you help." Asami said.
Viper smirks. "I think we got ourselves a deal."
Meanwhile, at the bait ship in the open sea, where Korra, Asami, Mako and the Triple Threats were all aboard. Korra was unsure with Mako hiring the Tripple Threats.
"Why?" Korra asked skeptically.
"Look, we needed a crew." Mako said.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Asami asked.
"No, but it's our last resort." Mako said.
"I hope you're right." Korra said doubtfully.
"This is right around the area where the attacks happened. So keep your eyes peeled, and stay quiet." Mako said.
"I agree. Keep quiet. Mouth zipped, don't say a word. That's the best thing to do when you're trying to ambush somebody, which is what we're doing here, and it's basically what I'm always doing. I mean, I am a gangster, after all, and…"
"Two Toed Ping, please." Mako interrupts.
"Oh, right. So, what's it like dating the Avatar?" Two Toed Ping asked before Mako sighs in annoyance, turning his head. "Come on, Mako, I gotta know."
"Ping, stay focused!" Mako snapped.
"What? What are you so weird about it? If I was dating the Avatar, I'd tell you all about it." Ping said.
"There's nothing to know, all right? He broke up with me." Korra said with a tear.
Two Toed Ping starts laughing. "Yeah, right. You broke up with the Avatar. Like that happened. Hey, Shady Shin, Viper. Mako says he broke up with the Avatar."
"Sure he did." Shady Shin said.
"Yeah, I did, too." Viper said before the Triple Threats burst out laughing.
"All right, would you guys knock it off and do your job?" Mako got annoyed before turning to Korra. "Sorry they have to ask that."
Mako was about to place her hands around Korra, but she slapped them.
"Don't touch me! I'm still mad at you!" Korra snapped.
"You really think I'm a bad guy because I told the President about you taking military actions without him knowing, Korra? I can't let you make another mistake!" Mako snapped.
"I was doing my job being the Avatar! And if you can't support my decisions, maybe you don't really love me!"
Silence, Mako can't believe that Korra would really say such a thing, not to mention she's once again arguing with him. To make matters worse, they were arguing in front of Asami and Ping.
"Korra, don't say that." Asami was surprised emotionally.
"Uh, Asami, Ping, I think you should go." Mako asked.
"R-right. Right. Already on it. Uh, Asami let's talk about something else." Ping suggested before he and Asami walked away. "Hey, is it true the warlock Sarlaq is Northern Water Tribe Chief Unalaq's twin brother?"
"Korra, you're not listening to what I'm actually saying." Mako started to explain.
"I'm not listening? Oh, so what, you're saying that Bolin is making up the fact that you told the President of my plans to just go along with sending the troops to stop Unalaq?"
"N-no. but you gotta see that things, they have limits these days." Mako explained.
"I know about limits, Mako! Have you forgotten how long it took me to restore everybody's bending?" Korra remined Mako.
"Well, yeah. It did take you three months, but this is different!" Mako said.
"Obviously I know that! You said that you would support my decisions! Can't you even trust me? Don't you even love me?!"
"YES! I still love you!" Mako answered.
"Then why did you dump me then?" Korra asked.
"Korra… I-I wasn't thinking straight last night." Mako said in guilt. "I'm sorry for what I did. I-I just didn't want to lose my job. I still love you. I always will."
"Then you should have lied to Raiko." Korra said bluntly. "Iroh was going to help us defeat Unalaq, and then you told him everything."
"Korra…" Mako was about to explain.
"I'm done. I'm done with you saying that you trust me when you go and stab me in the back." Korra said.
Korra walked away from Mako in anger. Tears leaked from her eyes, heartbreaking. Mako shed a tear after the argument he had with Korra. He looked up to the sky, regretting telling Raiko about Korra's stunt. He did what he had to. He needed the job. All he wanted was a normal like with Korra.
"Gazing to the moonlight"
"Living peacefully in a happy life"
"All I ever wanted"
Korra walked down the docks, still crying. She still had the potion that can help her learn the history of Raava and Vaatu to stop Unalaq from becoming a Dark Avatar. But she was still thinking about Mako.
"Spending dates with Mako"
"Waiting for him to ask me to be his wife"
"All I ever wanted"
Korra regained her usual determined self and gazed at the night sky.
"But this is my destiny"
"To be the bridge between worlds"
"And as a greater deity"
Mako walked down the docks in an expression of sadness of his mistake of letting Korra go.
"I can't change what I've done"
"I would look around"
"The one I found, she's gone"
"But I can't let that end"
"I won't let this heartbreak begun"
Korra climbed up the latter and stands at the top of the cabin.
"I am the Avatar"
"The being with supernatural powers so far"
"I bring balance to the nations"
"That's my temptations"
"Surely this is all I ever wanted"
Mako looked down unhappily in his emotions with Korra.
"All I ever wanted"
Korra and Mako: "All I ever wanted"
Korra looked up to the sky, thinking of her decisions to drink the potion, and have Sarlaq as an ally to defeat Unalaq and keep Vaatu prisoner. And she made a promise to save her tribe.
"I promise, Dad." she whispered. "I promise."
Chapter twenty-five will be coming.
