Chapter 13
Disclaimer: I don't own the Dragonball franchise. Nuff said.
Gine's fist collided with Zamasu's jaw, sending him staggering back. The impact reverberated through her arm, a mix of pain and satisfaction coursing through her. "Enough games!" she roared, her hair glowing brightly as she powered up further.
Zamasu smirked, wiping a trickle of blood from his lip. "Games? This is merely foreplay, Gine. The real pleasure comes from the hunt." His eyes darted around, taking in the growing crowd of onlookers, their faces a mixture of fear and awe. "And it seems we have quite the audience."
Raditz, Gohan, Piccolo, and the alternate Gine closed in, forming a tight circle around Zamasu. Their ki pulsed in sync, creating a barrier of energy that crackled menacingly.
"You won't escape this time," Piccolo growled, his hands poised for attack.
Zamasu chuckled, his demeanor disturbingly calm. "Who said anything about escaping? I intend to stay and play... with all of you."
With a sudden burst of speed, Zamasu lunged at Raditz, aiming a devastating kick at his midsection. Raditz blocked it just in time, the force of the blow sending him skidding across the ground.
"Uncle Raditz!" Gohan cried out, moving to intercept Zamasu's next attack. He unleashed a barrage of ki blasts, each one narrowly dodging the surrounding buildings.
Zamasu deflected the blasts with ease, his laughter echoing off the concrete walls. "Is that all you've got, boy? Pathetic!"
Gine saw red. She charged forward, her fists a blur as she rained down blows on Zamasu. Each hit connected with a satisfying thud, but Zamasu merely grinned, absorbing the attacks without flinching.
"Feeling frustrated, Gine?" Zamasu taunted, catching her wrists in a vice-like grip. "Let me show you what true power feels like."
He shoved her backward, the force so great that Gine stumbled, nearly losing her balance. Before she could recover, Zamasu was upon her again, his hand outstretched, palm facing her chest.
A surge of dark energy gathered around his hand, swirling ominously. "Say goodbye to your precious life force," he sneered, releasing the blast.
Gine rolled to the side, the energy beam scorching the ground where she had stood moments before. Dust and debris filled the air, obscuring her vision.
Through the haze, she saw Zamasu advancing, his expression twisted with rage. "You can't hide forever, Gine! Surrender now, and I might make your death quick."
Ignoring his taunts, Gine focused her ki, feeling it coalesce within her core. She rose to her feet, her body enveloped in a brilliant aura. "I will never surrender to you, Zamasu. Not today, not ever!"
She launched herself at him, her trajectory a streak of light. Zamasu met her head-on, their bodies colliding with enough force to create a shockwave that knocked bystanders off their feet.
The two figures intertwined, their battle a dance of destruction. Buildings crumbled under the force of their blows, chunks of concrete raining down like hail.
Piccolo and the alternate Gine exchanged glances, both knowing they needed to intervene before the city was reduced to rubble. They joined the fray, their combined strength pushing Zamasu onto the defensive.
"You think numbers will save you?" Zamasu spat, parrying Piccolo's strike with a grunt. "I am beyond such petty tactics!"
His body began to glow, a sinister purple hue engulfing him. His muscles bulged, veins pulsating visibly beneath his skin. "Witness the true form of your demise!"
Gine's heart raced as she watched Zamasu transform. His power surged exponentially, the very air around them thickening with malevolence.
"We have to stop him now!" Gine shouted, her voice barely audible over the roar of battle.
Together, they attacked, their moves synchronized to perfection. Zamasu howled in frustration, his defenses weakening under the relentless assault.
Just when it seemed they had gained the upper hand, Zamasu's eyes flashed dangerously. "Enough of this charade!" he bellowed, his voice booming like thunder.
He disappeared in a burst of speed, reappearing behind Gine in an instant. Before she could react, he wrapped his arms around her, his grip unyielding.
"Now, Gine, let us see how well you fight when you're trapped in my embrace," Zamasu whispered into her ear, his breath hot against her skin.
Gine struggled, her limbs pinned by Zamasu's ironclad hold. Panic flared within her, her mind racing for a way out.
"Let her go, Zamasu!" Raditz bellowed, charging forward with a war cry.
Zamasu laughed, his attention momentarily diverted. It was all Gine needed. Summoning every ounce of her strength, she channeled her ki into her legs, delivering a powerful knee strike to Zamasu's groin.
Zamasu's eyes widened in shock, his grip loosening just enough for Gine to twist free. She spun around, her fist connecting with his chin in a brutal uppercut.
Zamasu flew backward, crashing into a nearby building. The structure groaned under the impact, collapsing in a heap of rubble.
Breathing heavily, Gine turned to face her allies, her expression fierce. "We finish this now, once and for all!"
To be continue...
Looks like the Z-fighters have the upper hand thanks to their teamwork. But will it be enough to stop Zamasu? Find out in the next chapter!
