Chapter 7
The next morning…
"Huh… really?"
"I figured you would want to see this, at the same time it convinced me that it has happened… by the way… where the hell have you been Shoko?"
Yua has having a… very strange viewing party. In fact this has been going on this this morning and has continued.
This being, Satoru snuggling and coddling Suguru as if they were… well… she can't fault on that, they ARE technically a married couple! But at the same time, she was not involved in the coddling, it's just been them. "So THIS is how you felt huh?" she asked offhandedly to Shoko.
She snorted a laugh. "More or less, how long?" she asked.
"All morning, they had breakfast and have been doing this ever since… I need a drink"
Shoko snickered again as they made their way downstairs to the kitchen. Yua made some tea but was determined to know where she has been. Much to her surprise, Shoko explained. "I got sick and tired of waiting for stuff to happen around here. So I looked into that school in Kyoto. Basically, every student you have trained here, has been picked up there. They are hired on as sorcerers and teachers but from what I have been told, the students feel as if they are back in the domain."
She paused to this. "How so?"
"Well, for one, the council, the elders… they aren't a bunch of old hags. They are young and there are actually women seated on this!"
"That… weird." She said.
"That's not even the weird part… I got hit on!" She bore a rather proud smile and explained that there was one guy there, proficient in reverse jujutsu and picked up on her technique instantly. "The thing is, this guy is good, really good. The moment he loses a limb it's back!"
"Oh that's Kiyoshi's reverse jujutsu sensei!" Yua said aloud, she remembered him telling her about his lesson where he accidentally took the teacher's arm off. At the same time, the teacher was already healed by the time the limb hit the ground. "That's impressive control…" she said offhandedly.
"Yeah, for someone who can use his body like a bomb, he was rather polite…"
'Wait! Use his body like a bomb…'
"Shoko… this guy… is he a little on the thin side, thick, short looking hair?"
She considered it for a moment. "Not so thin, he has a good figure, but he does have thick, short hair… do you know him or something?"
"I was just thinking… I faced someone during that culling game the old council tried to use to get rid of me once and for all. A sorcerer from the past had exploding flesh as his ability, naturally his reverse jujutsu would be a testament as to how powerful he is, if you are using your body like a bomb…" This thought was a little unsettling. 'Maybe I am just looking into this too much, I mean it's been a while since that has happened. Almost two years or so?' Yua thought to herself. And if that sorcerer is still alive, she has little doubt he would go out of his way to destroy cities on a whim.
Shoko smirked. "You think you missed one? If you did, Sukuna would have taken him out easily. No one survived that, you know it and I know it. Lady Tiamat even verified that," she explained.
"Yeah, I may just be other thinking things. I tend to do that. Anyways, does he seem nice?"
She flushed a little red. "Well, he has my interest." She said with a grin. "It's not every day someone talks to you like an equal. We also spoke about our abilities and he found areas where he lacked in comparison to me, at the same time, I found areas I could improve upon with his insight… it's rare…" she said as she stared into her cup of tea.
"It's rare to find someone who wants to help you build up your technique than it is to compare and determine who is better at it."
"That may explain the long game my family had when it came to finding someone…" Yua said in a reminiscing tone.
"Oh? This I haven't heard of."
She smiled. "I went over some of my family books, including journals. One my mom had when she was meeting my dad on a date, it was a coincidence they ran into each other. According to my mother's notes, her family disowned her since her abilities were not up to their standards. She was left to live by herself and was getting by, when she ran into my father. They struck up a conversation and she explained her situation. He was taken aback and offered to help her. Well, from what I understand, my father helped boost my mother's ability to a third grade to first grade in three years."
Shoko froze to this. "Hey, I got to know… is your family some sort of mutant? Don't get me wrong, I know there's dragon blood in your system but is that really that much…"
"Dragons naturally have power in their blood. It allows them to tap into any energy they are in possession of and amplify it to the best of their abilities. My family didn't know we had such blood in our veins, and yet…" Once more, she paused to this. "I could explain a few things…"
"I'm all ears… as long as I can raid Satoru's snacks…"
"Top shelf in the cupboard, behind the cereal in the oatmeal box." Yua said without hesitation.
Shoko snickered as she took one of Satoru's limited edition snacks. "Okay, continue" she decreed.
"It's not just the dragon blood either… Take into consideration… Sukuna had devoured a good portion of my clan, dragon blood shouldn't have been easy to digest, and yet he was able to do so…"
"Whoa, why are we going into cannibalism here?!"
"Just saying. Anyone else who tried to use my family like that, they would have died. Sukuna didn't since he had a dragon's power within him… which may explain how he got so strong to begin with. But I am not underestimating his ability either. It's just a thought."
"Still, why bring it up?"
She sighed. "Because, Kenjaku feared my family for a reason, so much so he worked behind the scenes to ensure we always had a rough go at things. Yet, why didn't he hunt them down himself? He took over one member of my family over a thousand years ago, Sukuna even remembered that since Mother Tooru called him out on it. Ever since that incident, he has never tried to take over another Tooru… but I wonder… if perhaps the reason why was when he took possession of them? Something must have startled him or he realized something wasn't right and opted to have use destroyed by any means…"
"Dark…" she muttered. "But at the same time, I can't say I don't agree. Even when I was young, the council always drilled into us. Toorus cannot be trusted."
"They can't be trusted because they are the most power…" Yua muttered.
"Needless to say how those old bats did business. It was as if they knew you couldn't be bought too."
Yua knew that the odds were always against her family, but now it is slowly adding up as to why. "I wonder what this council thinks of the Tooru clan…"
Shoko snorted a laugh. "If anything, these guys almost think the same way you do!"
Come to think of it, Kiyoshi mentioned that before.
Just recently, Suiryu got a letter from the school about the girls, they are being moved into an advance class due to their abilities growing rather rapidly. Believe it or not, Nao has been the star pupil of the class! 'Despite the occasional swear word that escapes from her, she is very talented' according to the teacher's report. Suiryu had to make certain Yua saw that part, he laughed his ass off when he read it.
"I find it is interesting that Yuuji and Suiryu's kids are doing so well. There hasn't been any problems in their education, Students must know who they are and yet…" Yua paused to this. "This council is something else…"
"I'll keep tabs from this moment on, I sort of like that reverse jujutsu teacher…" Shoko said with a grin. "Also there were plenty of other bachelors if it doesn't work out,"
"Hell with those two coddling each other I may need one more husband…"
