Chapter 6: Monsters

Cerberus, the three-headed guard dog of the underworld, snarled at the pair of trespassers as it was trained to do.

Unimpressed, the sorcerer reached into his robes and pulled out the first of his magic items:

Red as a poisoned apple and just as alluring, the enchanted ball gleamed despite the gloom of the underworld.

"Throw it," he told the genie.

"Is that your second wish?" the opportunistic genie asked.

"It is part of my first wish as you well know," Jafar sneered. "Now, do it!"

The genie threw the ball. The object flew through the thick air.

Entranced, the foolish hound chased after the ball as the sorcerer knew it would.

He and the genie continued downward.

All manner of monsters, ghouls, and beasts tried to bar Jafar's path, but each time the sorcerer had an artifact or incantation ready to subdue his adversaries. The genie aided as needed until they reached the very center of the underworld where the god of the dead ruled.
