"We are looking into a missing person. He was hitching. Miami to all states north. Never came back."

"You are after a look at our records?"

Dean shrugged.

"Sam is already at the station. Isn't he?" Deb looked to the ceiling.

"Yeah" Dean admitted. "Plausible deniability"

"Thats a ten dollar phrase for a cowboy"

"You are a good cop. We don't want to bring any trouble to your door"

"Yet, here you are"

"Yeah. But in our defence, the things after us, they blow through law enforcement. They don't even stop to chew." Dean sighed.

They sat and listened to the fan spin for about a minute.

"Why?" Deb asked

"Why this life?" Dean thought for a second."Why?" Dean gestured to the room then pointed to Deb's clothing

"Because its the right thing to do" they both said together.

"Say it like you are going to remember it" Dean was serious about this "What sort of frosting?"

"Sweetie pie" Dexter's voice came through the phone.

"Thats right." Dean licked his lips "Then to the honeymoon suite, well the old one. Its really nice in here. Sam says St Judes has a font at the door. Got it?"

The door slammed open. Dean skipped ahead of the whirlwind of anger that followed on his heels.

-

The door beeped and flew open. It rattled as the hinges swung back on themselves. Deb reached for a gun she didn't have. In a shooting stance.

Dexter turned quickly to face the door, ready to throw himself at the intruder.

Sam blinked twice "Deb?"

"Don't move. Show me your hands!" she commanded.

"Can't do both sweet heart" Dean waved his donut around. "I think I have my new favourite topping. Sammy, make a note. Sweetie Pie"
