Chapter 5

...

A knock on her bedroom door reconnects Trinity to reality with a start. She runs a hand on her forehead as the images of the umpteenth nightmare turn in her mind. Nightmares have become a habit after her accident, she often dreams of not succeeding in controlling the ship, watching the coming impact, knowing inside herself that's the last image she can look at. Sometimes she dreams of the moments right after the crash, even if she doesn't remember a lot of what happened actually. Sometimes it's most of all a mess of random images... a mix of pain, screams and metal. She'd say she can somehow remember events from her 'resuscitation', but Pantea keeps excluding it, since there are no chances she could be aware of anything since she had been put under strong sedatives. Anyway her nightmares had worsen lately, after her second encounter with Neo in the Matrix...

A second knock and she moves the sheets by side, sitting up and moving her bare legs down the bed. She stretches out her arm to take a pair of tracksuit pants and quickly puts it on, then heading to the door.

Her second operator is standing there.

"Oak, what's up?"

Trinity runs a hand in her hair and ties it in a little ponytail, looking at the large-shouldered man in front of her. He's at least one foot taller than she is and strong, like the tree he had been named after.

"Sorry ma'am, I know it's late" he apologizes, with a courteousness apparently so in contrast with the hardness of his aspect "there's something you absolutely need to see"

Trinity follows him along the silent corridors till the operator station where Oak was on duty on that night, making his night shift... and watching Neo.

She had that task for weeks before they contacted Neo the first time, volunteering for the night shifts to be able of watching him, undisturbed.

This time she had to surrender to her own body, admitting she can't ignore the signals it gives hers and accepting she needs some rest, at least during night. Not that she's admitting it with her crew though, just hiding it behind her so called "Captain's privileges". None never heard of Morpheus doing night shifts when he was in charge on his ship after all, so none of the crew suspects anything.
Just Esc and Ghost knows about her condition (and Morpheus obviously). The others don't need to be informed, till she won't begin to show a baby bump at least. Once again her toned abs come in handy, and if she's lucky none could tell if for another month at least.

She approaches the many screens, standing behind Oak as he sits down on his seat, tapping on the screen on his left as Trinity's eyes watch intently at the glyphs turning and falling on the central screen. He touches a few keys and the glyphs turn in decoded images in black and white.

"He had one of his nightmares. A very bad one this time I suppose," Oak says showing her some recorded images "He woke up and had a shower. Then this happened, "

Trinity just stares apparently unperturbed to the images coming from the Matrix...

... Neo. Half naked, just a towel around his waist, facing the sink and the fogged mirror. Humidity condenses in drops on the cold glass. He's about taking one of his blue pills when he catches a glimpse of a few drops which roll down along the surface, like glyphs in a code. His hand runs on his face in frustration and, in an angry outburst he throws the full content of the orange plastic bottle in the sink...

Trinity turns to the central screen which shows Neo now sitting at his computer, googling something. He wears a white T-shirt and gray tracksuit pants.

"Oak, enlarge the image, " She orders pointing to the screen as he taps again on the keys and the image gets larger and clearer. Trinity's hand moves to cover her mouth.

... old news items...

"Is he making a research about... Morpheus?" She asks as Oak enlarges a picture even more revealing a piece about Morpheus.

He had done the same research years earlier. He had took Neo almost 2 years to have information about Morpheus and for Morpheus to individuate Neo as a potential 'One'.
Trinity can't help but swallows hard and her stomach tense to the point she has to focus for not putting her hand over there.

"There's more, Captain"

Oak enlarges the image even more, focusing on the notes Neo wrote by hand on a paper coaster.

There's just a name written on it and for an instant Trinity feel like she's about passing out. Her hand just grasps the seatback in front of her, and Oak just thinks she's getting closer to the screen to have a better view.
... Trinity.

"He's doing a research about you, Captain" Oak says out loud, maybe doubting she didn't see it clearly "He just found old items about your hacker attack to the IRS database, nothing more"

Yeah, she's quite sure he won't find anything else, and for sure no pictures of her.

She just nods, thoughtful, probably thinking exactly what Oak is thinking about right now.

"Where did he hear about you and Morpheus?" He says out loud "I thought you two just spoke about everything and anything on your last encounter"

"We did" she just replies as her mind tries to recall particulars of their full conversation.

It had been nothing more than a quick (apparently casual) second encounter at the Simulatte.

He had been the one approaching her while she was just thinking about the better first move. She was at the counter, waiting for a cortado and hoping the little amount of milk in it could help in somehow mitigate the too strong flavor of coffee. It looks like, after years of just eating flavorless food, coffee scent and taste are too strong for her stomach.

.
... "Mind if I get that?" Thomas Anderson asks making Trinity turn her head toward him "I promise I won't spill it on you this time" He adds with a smirk which triggers a little smile on her face.
So they had had a small talking in front of a cup of coffee, nothing more.
... "Did you always want to be a soldier, instead of, dunno, family and kids?"
... "Yes, but I haven't had, uhm, a common upbringing actually," she replies calmly "and, despite most women, I don't think a woman needs kids at all costs to be called a 'woman'," she adds as he nods.
... "I know what you mean. How do you know if you want something yourself or if your upbringing programmed you want to?"
... They stare at each other on those words, then he smirks. "Mmm. Actually I pay my analyst a lot of money to answer such questions for me" He says with a larger smile as she smirks in turn.
... "Smart. I should get more therapy, but honestly I'm too goddamn busy"

.

Trinity's eyes are still focused on the images on the screen.

Neo's googling 'Matrix' now, but apparently he didn't find anything interesting and he's running a hand in his hair clearly frustrated.
He takes a few paper sheets from under a book entitles "Simulacra and Simulation" and he tears them in two parts, then throwing them on the floor.

"What's that?"

Oak reacts to Trinity's words trying to better bring into focus the images on the screen.

"Holy fuck!"

The man can't help but curse at the image in front of his eyes. A few pencil sketches on white paper.
Trinity. Not 'Tiffany', but the real Trinity, in a lucid black corset (a braiding of leather strings on her back) and form-fitting pants. In another sketch she's whispering something in his (Neo's) ear as he stands against the wall, a beer in his hand. A few handwritten words here and there. 'Wake up Neo', 'The Matrix has you'. 'Follow the white rabbit"

"When did he do that?"

Oak's just shakes his head, not turning to Trinity.

"I don't know... while I came to call you I suppose,"

Trinity just nods watching the operator as he shrugs.

"My God,"

Trinity's voice is just a whisper.

.
... "Hello, Neo."

... "How do you know that name?"

... "I know a lot about you"

... "Who are you?"

... "My name is Trinity"

... "Trinity? The Trinity? The one that cracked the IRS ?"

... "That was a long time ago"

... "Geez"

... "What?"

... "I just thought... you were a guy"

... "Yeah. Most guys do"

.

"How can he do that?"

Oak's voice awaken Trinity from her thoughts but she replies just with a 'I don't know'

... They reset his memory, Trinity, not his being. He's still the same man you first met in that night club...

And yet, no, he's not the same man she met in that night club. That Thomas Anderson was exactly like she was when Morpheus freed her. Determined to understand what was wrong about the world around them.

This new Thomas Anderson instead is... broken. A suicide survivor haunted by what he thinks it's a powerful imagination. It's harder for her to foresee his moves.

In the Matrix Neo suddenly stands up almost overturning his chair, and both his hands moves in his hair.
He heads to the door, not bothering about taking a jacket and just goes out in the cold air of the night.
He's clearly having a mental breakdown again feeling like he's living another one of his hallucinations.

"SHIT!"

It's Trinity the one cursing this time, all her muscles in alarm mode now.

"I'm going there" She says as Oak suddenly turns to her.

"What? Now?"

He meets Trinity's piercing blue eyes and it's clear she means exactly what she just said.

"I call the guys" Oak says as Trinity gets ready, moving to her chair.

"There's not time, Oak. Just do it"

"I'm not sure I can get you that close, Captain"

Oak's voices is uncertain. He knows of not being as skilled operator as Link is. But she's right... there's no time.

"I'm used to have to grow wings. Load me up"

Trinity's Ducati speeds along the highway, turning quickly on the last curve and then stopping with a quick hard braking in front of Neo's apartment building.
She enters the elevator and pushes the higher number on the keyboard. She knows where Neo's going and her stomach twinges in anticipation at the bare thought.

'C'mon' she whispers to her own mirrored image glancing to the progressive number on the display.
... 3,4,5... why does it take so long...
'C'mon, please... c'mon'
she whispers again, like a mantra, taking of her sunglasses so that her own piercing blue eyes stare back at her.
Despite the apparent determined and self-confident woman in a lucid black polyvinyl suit and coat looking at her, her heart is pumping in her chest so hard that she thinks it can explode.
The elevator stops on the upper floor and she climbs the last flight to the roof using the fire stairs.

Neo is there, on the edge, looking down. His mind lost in a mix of memories and dreams (or hallucinations). They feel real. They feel so damn real.

.

... Hi, Thomas. I'm...Tiff. Tiffany"

.

... Who are you?
... My name is Trinity.

.
... You're the One Neo, you were looking for me, but I spent my all life waiting for you.
... You have to let it all go, Neo. Free your mind...

.

In the total silence of the night the only noise is the cooing of a few pigeons.

"Huh. Looks easy enough." He says, exhaling.

"Free my mind."

He looks down at the minuscule cars moving along the street.

"Shit. Okay. Free my mind" He grunts, "I fly… or I fall"

He rubs his hands against each other, preparing himself to the jump. He doesn't bother falling after all, so it can just go his way or no way.
.
... Who are you?
... My name is Trinity.

.
... Hi, Thomas. I'm...Tiff. Tiffany"

.

After they spoke, he realized… his life wasn't a life.
He looked for Tiffany at the coffee shop, googled her either. Tiffany. And he began to wonder if he imagined her. No socials. No... nothing. She's nowhere. At some point, he gave up searching for something real.

Then he had a dream of her, just... a different version of her. Sexy is an underestimation. The astonishing contrast of her naked white cleavage against the lucid black polyvinyl of her corset. If it wasn't for the lack of sex he could have told it was a sex dream. But it ended differently... surrounded by police and with a bug in his navel.

Neo shakes his head at that thought.

He's living a life which isn't a life, a life in which he can't distinguish dreams (and nightmares) by reality. And at this point he distrusts everything. And he's tired. Tired of all that shit.

He looks down once more, inhales deeply and closes his eyes, stretching his right leg out. His center of gravity moves forward... and then suddenly backward as a hand grabs his T-shirt, pulling him back.

He loses his balance, just in the opposite direction he thought, falling back against a body first and the roof concrete then.

He stands up with a jump quickly turning toward his so-called savior... wonder turns in astonishment and disbelief.
Trinity. Or... Tiffany. One of them or none of them.

"Neo,"

Trinity's voice is calm, almost maternal. Neo's eyes instead are a mix of confusion and fear.

.

... "Hello, Neo."
... "How do you know that name?"

.

He gasps.

"Oh. No. No, no, no" his hands moves on his face and then in his hair "This… This can't be real. This isn't happening. It's in my mind. It's in my mind"

"Neo"

He doesn't look up at her and just he stretches out a hand, preventing her from moving toward him. She just stands exactly where she is.

"Neo"

"This can't be happening,"

"Most definitely is"

Trinity replies calmly as Neo glances at her this time. His face still ghost-white, his eyes still wide open, his legs somehow unsteady, in the grip of pure terror.

"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?"

Neo shouts this time and Trinity has to focus in not showing how much those words stroke a painful cord of her most inner herself. And it hurts. Like never before.

.

... "Did you always want to be a soldier, instead of, dunno, family and kids?"
... "Yes, but I haven't had, uhm, a common upbringing actually,"

.

"You're not a soldier... What the hell are you? A hacker? A terrorist? A spy?"

Trinity's taken by surprise by Neo's accusative tone and she has to force herself not to lose her self control.

"I- I'm a soldier... in Zion Resistance. And yes, I'm a hacker too. You know me as Tiffany... but my name is Trinity"

Despite the calmness of Trinity's voice, Neo's eyes widen even more, if it's somehow possible.

.

... "Trinity? The Trinity? The one that cracked the IRS D-Base?"

... "That was a long time ago"

.

"NO. NO. You're not real!" He repeats.

"Neo,"

Her voice is calm and soft, like a whisper this time

"You've had dreams that weren't just dreams..."

Neo looks up at her this time and gasps softly.

"You don't remember me, but I know you already leapt off another roof once. You leapt, and you didn't fall. I saw you flying, with my eyes"

"Why should I trust you?"

"Because if you don't, I lose my last chance to take you back. And you will be put right back on that treadmill they designed for you" She pauses and he looks at her suspiciously "I know you were looking for Morpheus and for me, exactly like I know you never found a picture of me. And yet, you knew exactly how I look like... because we already met, Neo. In a night club, time ago, just before we picked you up under Adam Street bridge."

Neo stares at Trinity, like he can really remember the facts she's talking about.

.

... Listen to me, coppertop! We don't have time for 'twenty questions.' Right now there is only one rule. Our way or the highway.

... Fine.

... He opens the door to get out the car...

... Neo, please, you have to trust me.
... Why?
... Because you've been down there. You already know that road. You know exactly where it ends. And I know that's not where you want to be.

.

"I know these things the same way I know you don't belong to this world, exactly like I didn't" their eyes meet in a different way this time, his dark eyes mesmerized in the blue of hers "What I don't know is if you're ready for this, once more. But if you want the truth, Neo, you're going to have to follow me"

He stares at her and his features lightly relax this time.

"Okay."

She stares back at him wondering if he's really trusting her, or if he's accepting what he sees just because is expecting to wake up.
Actually, there's no way for her to know. So she's going to trust him, exactly like he does.

Trinity takes a step toward him and he doesn't step back this time.

"How do I know you're real?"

Neo asks in whisper, not looking away from Trinity's eyes.

"I am real now, exactly like you are, Neo"

He seems to ponder her words.

"Have you ever had a so realistic dream that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?"

Trinity whispers, repeating the same words Morpheus had told him... and to her, so many years earlier.
Neo sighs.

"I have dreams that feels like memories," Neo says still looking into Trinity's eyes "and a reality that feels like a dream," he inhales and exhales slowly "I felt either I'm having a mental breakdown again or I'm living inside a computer-generated reality that has imprisoned me…" their eyes meet painfully "Are you telling you can save me from this?"

Trinity stares at him, and swallows.

"All I'm saying is this is the moment for you to see what is real" she follows his gaze as he looks down at the red pill she's showing him, palm up. "If you want out, you'll take this pill. But if you are where you belong, you can go back to this. Every day. Over and over forever."

"Fuck."

He takes the pill from her hand and swallows it, without a second thought this time.

They're still looking in each other eyes and for an instant Trinity's self-control seems to waver. It's a point of no return. There's not a going back from there.
She has to look away to regain her usual confidence.

She finds her phone.

"Operator"

"Link," her eyes flash and there's something different in her voice this time "Arrange for everything be ready for Neo, there".

Neo gives her a very questioning look this time, even more when he can hear this 'Link's' voice from the other side.

... 'What? Now? Trinity? You can't-'...

"Do it! Now!"

... Trinity?...

She closes the call before Link can go on and she looks at Neo instead.

"Fine, c'mon, let's move out of here"

Trinity's black Ducati waits for them on the street outside the building.

Trinity hurries to straddle it, handing the helmet to Neo. He takes it, but looks at her hesitantly, not putting it on. She gives him a questioning look.

"It doesn't seem safe," he says tentatively as both her eyebrows lift.

"What? The helmet or the motorbike?"

A minuscule smirk plays on Neo's lips as he keeps looking in her eyes.

"Well, I never ride one of these," Neo says awkwardly "but I was referring to you, riding without a helmet on"

Trinity can't help but smirk this time. Yeah, he never rode a motorbike, not alone, nor with her actually. And once more the chivalrous side of his nature tries to emerge. Like after Apoc and Switch's death, when he handed her the phone whispering that 'you first'. After all, maybe Morpheus is right... Neo is still the same man she met on that night club.

She runs her tongue on her lips.

"Don't worry for me. I know how to ride" she gives him a very little smile and Neo's features relax "Get on. Just, brace up!"

Trinity feels Neo's hesitation as he straddles the bike behind her, then wrapping her waist with both hands.
She has to focus to ignore the feeling it triggers in her lower abdomen.
The tires screech and the motorcycle revs speeding along the street as Neo's arms wrap her body tighter.
She brakes in front of an old building at the end of a desert blind alley. It's not necessary now, but their old exits were all in desert or little frequented areas since they needed to stay away from agents as much as possible.
Her phone rings and she hurries to take the call.

"Link?"

"Eighth floor, room 303"

She replies with a "Fine" feeling the operator's uncertainty on the other side of the line though.

"Trinity, are you sure?"

She inhales deeply, looking into Neo's eyes as he takes off the helmet. Once again it's like living a deja-vu.

.

... All I want is a little yes or no. Look into his eyes, Trinity, those big pretty eyes and tell me the truth. Yes or no.

.

Once again Trinity stares at Neo as a single word falls soundlessly from her lips.

"Yes..."

She says it in the same whisper, closing the call.

They stare at each other. And once again it's a big task for her to regain her usual composure. When she speaks again her tone is firm and secure.

"Let's go"

They climbs the first flight not looking at each other and just hurrying along the steps. Her phone rings again and she takes the call without stopping her climbing.

"Link?"

"Captain. I'm reading portals from the lower frequencies"

"Yeah," she stops, and Neo stops behind her, almost colliding with her. Her blue eyes look around at the sort of gang of tramps exiting from the end of the corridor and moving toward them, blocking their passage "Uhm, I found some old acquaintances of us"

Her voice is still firm, but she can't help the bit of hesitation in her voice.

"Exiles? I thought they were all purged," Link says, not hiding instead his own anxiety "I'm sending reinforcement,"

"No need, Link. I can handle this. Just keep the guys ready, just in case"

The tramps walk slowly toward them, following their boss or in a way shielding for him.

He's a man on his forties, looking older because of his run-down long beard and dirty worn-out clothes. The green of his eyes meet the blue of Trinity's.
She can recognize those eyes everywhere.
The Merovingian.

"You? Oh-ho-ho-ho. It's you! Apres touts. Both still alive?"

"Oh God" Neo's voice sounds at her side as the French man looks right in his eyes.

"You stole my life! Chatte de ta grand-mère la pute! Je vais baiser tes ancêtres, t'es mort fils de pute!"

Neo just looks from that man to Trinity. He has no idea what the man's talking about, but he doesn't need to speak French for knowing that troubles are coming.

And this is the Merovingian's extremely violent revenge fantasies coming true.

"Kill him!" He orders to his followers, still staring in Neo's eyes "You ruined every suck-my-silky-ass thing! We had grace! We had style! We had conversation! Not this!"

"NEO!"

Trinity's arm is quick in pulling Neo behind herself, dodging the first man's attack with a skilled movement and counterattacking.
She moves so agile and precise that Neo can just stands there watching the scene like in a hypnotic trance, till one of the Merovingian's followers succeeds in escaping Trinity's assault and runs right to Neo.

"NEO!" She calls again.

Fuck! They're more than she thought.
Their eyes meet, dark eyes in blue eyes... a mix of fear and worry.
And Neo goes on autopilot, like a part of his brain can still remember how fighting works.
It comes from a very hidden part of his brain, but it looks like he still knows kung-fu after all.

It's a mess of kicks and punches... for both of them. They exchange just looks from time to time, moving in a perfectly synchronized fight, like they'd do this all their life. Neo knocks down the umpteenth guy and stops to looks at her, mesmerized by her technique. She's smooth and tough and the same time, and her acrobatic movements are like a dance, just a potentially lethal dance.

"NEO!"

She calls him once more to take him back to reality from whatever is distracting him, and he dodges a very dangerous kick to his head.
She pays for her distraction instead, and an Asian-figure succeed in grasping her feet and lifting her up, throwing her against the wall. Her back hits it hard and she falls on the ground as pieces of plaster fall all around and on her.
He's Neo's turn to catch the guy from behind, inflicting him a good blow to his nape which floor him face down.

"Trinity! You ok?"

Neo's ask, worrying clear on his face as he stretches out a hand for her, and he helps her to stand up.

She just nods, looking around, once again in full alarm mode. She's covered up by concrete dust but there's no time for this. She grabs Neo's arm pulling him out of there.

She hears the 'this is not over yet! Putain de connard d'enculé de ta mère la pute!' the Merovingian shouts behind them, but just ignores it, forcing Neo to run away from the nearest door.

Her phone rings.

"Trinity. They're watching this exit. I'm afraid you have to climb a few flights for the other one," Link can hear her 'shit!' from the other side of the line "Thirty floor"

"Got it" She just replies. Her voice is clear and apparently very calm, but actually she's not.

"C'mon"

They climb the first flights by running, then she decides risking to enter the nearest elevator. She knows she can run for thirty flights (in the Matrix), but Neo can't.
Her phone rings again.

"They're still on your traces"

It's her brother familiar voice this time.

"How many?" She asks glancing at Neo as he looks back at her with questioning eyes. She hears the 'two' and just closes her eyes for an instant.

"Ok" Her voice seems calm, then her eyes suddenly darken.

"Ghost," now there's something different in her voice..."How do you read him?"

Ghost doesn't answer.

"Sis, focus. Just hurry to take both your asses here"

Trinity inhales deeply and seems to regain her composure and coldbloodeness. Her piercing blue eyes meet Neo's again.

"Leave them to me" She just says as the elevator door open and they both face another couple of ugly mugs from the Merovingian gang.

Before Neo can reply Trinity exits the elevator and takes a jump, stopping midair, her arms wide open. And her kick knocks down the first one before he could see it coming. She quickly turns to the second one, bending down to grab his legs as her leg very agily moves back hurling a scorpion-like kick to his head.

"Let's go" she just says, grabbing Neo's arm as he stares at her, his lips open in disbelief.

They run along the corridor following the sound of a ringing phone, then, all of a sudden she stops, pulling back Neo's arm for preventing him from going on.
At least another six o five from the Merovingian's followers are guarding the door.

"Shit!"

She forces Neo toward a few steps heading to the roof, and they climb them quickly trying to lock up the door behind them.
She looks around at San Francisco landscape, and then back to the closed door. She can hear steps hurrying toward it. There's no time anymore.

"Neo," she turns to him meeting his eyes in a way he almost feels his knees melting "The pill you took is designed to disrupt your input/output carrier signal so we can..." she stops, deciding she doesn't want to go along a path of technical data... she looks down and then up in his eyes again "You're dreams aren't dreams. You're hallucinations aren't hallucinations. I'd like to be able to explain you, by words, but none can explain you. You can just see it with your eyes. I can show you, if you trust me"

He gives her a little nod that she can't tell can be counted like a certain or uncertain nod, then he sways, clearly beginning to have a hard time to stand.

"Neo,"

She's about telling him that she's offering him just the truth, or something else from Morpheus' repertoire, but he replies before she can form a coherent sentence.

"I trust you"

He just says staring in her eyes as she doesn't look away as her hand finds her phone once more.

"Duplication running" she says in the receiver still staring at him.

Blood freeze in Trinity's veins as she takes Neo's arm in an attempt to steady his unsteady balance.

"There's not another way"

She says, his deep look in hers.

"We can't go back. We won't"

She whispers, maybe to Neo or maybe to the man on the other side of the line.

"What? Trinity! NO!"

She can feel Ghost's fear this time, because he knows exactly what she's suggesting. There's not a way out from there and from the screen they can see the Merovingian's men approaching, exactly like she can hear their steps. They've being hunt like in a cat and mouse game.

"Sis, just hold on, I'm on my way!"

She hears him, but doesn't answer and he tries another way, using his most calm and convincing tone.

"Trinity, Neo can't make the jump"

Again she doesn't answer and for a moment Ghost hopes she's pondering it and changing her mind. Instead she just closes the call.

She looks at Neo as he moves to the edge of the roof, glancing down at the very far street under them. And for once he seems to remember he already did it once, and not in his so called attempt of suicide.

... free your mind...

Neo can't tell how that voice come from, but for an instant he feels like he can trust it. And he can trust the woman by his side.

He stretches out his hand for her and she takes it.

"I trust you" He repeats as she just stares back at him.

For an instant Trinity's about changing her mind... maybe she's still in time for choosing the second option Pantea gave her... but she can't, she can't do it, not if she has even the little odd to have both of them. Both of them or none, since she's conscious she never tried such a huge jump before too.

The doors open wide behind them and they have no choice than running and... jump.

Neo is the first one falling down, taking Trinity with him since they're still hand in hand. Then Trinity pulls strongly on Neo's arm and his falling down stops midair. Their falling down stops midair.

"Are you doing this?" Trinity asks, looking down at Neo, his eyes in hers.

"You are" Neo just replies.

For an instant Trinity looks around at the breathtaking landscape in front of her eyes. It turns in a code of green glyphs all around and she understands... it's never been just him, just Neo. They're the One together, like parts of the same thing.

And she takes him out of there.
