CH 3 Fool's Gold
Rupertin was in Hogwarts no one knew her blood status besides a few of her friends in Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. Rupertaus was in Gryffindor. Rupertin had bright Weasley reddish with rose undertones, being 1/3 leprechaun, 1/3 genie, 2/9 fairy, and 1/9 witch. She had translucid non gold amber eyes framed by long eyelashes.
Rupertin was a 'Black' by her grandmother Cedrella. She was even second cousins with Bartyjr, BartySr was Kasper's and Arthur's cousin or Septimus' nephew.
Cedrella was blasted off the Black family tree for marrying Septimus. But the story goes deeper. The Blacks thought Septimus would usurp the Black Lordship since he had a family curse that only let him have males, while Blacks struggled to have more than 2 males every generation due to constant inbreeding. They threatened to poison the Weasleys, including Cedrella.
Septimus and Cedrella knew the curse was far from broken when Billius-Kasper and Arthur were born. They went to a genie for help when Billius-Kasper was 20 and Arthur 16. A genie gave them a boon Billius-Kasper's wife would get the Maledictus curse, which would pass to the child before birth. The child would be 1/3 genie, 1/3 leprechaun, 1/3 fairy Maledictus. The genie advised Billius-Kasper to marry right away.
Septimus and Cedrella did just that. Kasper and Luca Brown were married right away, and Luca's parents' barely constented. Luca went along with the plan because she was betrothed to Avery Not and this broke her betrotha. Since Ruperin got the Maledictus curse before she was born, she born only 1/9 Weasley, and the Weasley curse didn't effect her. She was born a female. The important thing was the Blacks were convinced the Weasley curse was over. Ruperin's 1/3 geneie, 1/3 leprechaun, and 1/3 fairy genes were dormant until night time, when they changed her appearance at night when she was a kid; so she looked like a full Weasley as a kid. Overtime when she was 12, her 1/3 genie, 1/3 leprechaun, and 1/3 fairy genes were no longer dormant, and fully changed her appearance. It was chalked up to just her talking after her mother's side more than the Weasleys.
That's why Sirius really took to Rupertin and always included her in his prank ideas. It helped she wasn't in Slytherin. It also helped Rupertau liked to prank wizards and could make fake 12K red gold, blue gold 18K red gold, 18K rose gold, 18K pink gold, spangold, yellow gold, white gold, purple gold, blue gold from oxide layers, purple gold, white gold, and black gold stuff that disappears after awhile. She could also alloy any fake gold with any metal, and it stays, just flickering, like light was shining on it. Also it looks like a realistic gold with enough gold purity.
Rupertin and the Prewitt twins were semi honorary Maurader memebers. The Prewitts are her Aunt Molly's brothers. The trio were called Red Riding hood, Rose-Red, and Briar Rose or Reds. Remus told Sirius about muggle fairytale once, and he immediately gave the trio nicknames from it. The twins took offense at being called Rose-Red and Briar Rose, two muggle princesses, but they eventually warmed up to the nicknames. They were good code names in their eyes.
Currently Rupertin was making a bag of 18K gold galleons that would disappear in an hour. The twins were adjusting the weight of the galleons to look more realistic. Rupertaus was also adding fake yellow gold to sickels and the twins changed the size plus insignia of said sickles. Those were to lure Filch, later on.
The trio were helping the mauraders prank Gideory Lockhart. Gideory was an annoying 2nd year with a huge ego who kept attracting Mrs. Norris' attention. And they were sick of it.
Once Rupertin and the Prewitt twins were done they snuck to the 3rd corridor where Lockhart would be passing by, Sirius confirmed seeing the boy on the 2nd floor. They left the bag of galloens and a fake love letter.
They hid behind the statue of the witch with a hump, and waited for Lockhart to take the bait. Lockhart came a few beats later and stopped by the bag, noticing it at once. He picked up the letter which professed love from someone name Dolores, a Hufflepuff, who left money from her family vault for him so they could elope together. She left galleons in a bag.
The trio shuffled their laughter as Lockhart scooped up the bag and ran to his common room.
The trio burst out laughing, stumbling out of their hiding place right as the Mauraders materialized out of seemingly nowhere. "Good work Reds," James congratulated.
"I've never seen Glideory run so fast," Sirius smirked.
"He didn't even rush to his common room as fast as when he thought he had evidence of defeating the giant squid," James tittered.
"Let's see how this plays out, " Remus said, gleefully.
"How did you make Little Red's golden coins look real, Briar Rose, Red-Rose?" Sirius asked.
"If you'd stop-"
"Referring to us as-"
"Muggle fairytale princesses-"
"We'll tell you our secret, " Gideon finished Fabian's sentence last.
The maurders looked between the twins as they answered each others' questions. "Well nice to see you two agree for once. I don't think they ever agree on anything do they prongs?" Siruus looked at James.
"No not a chance Padfoot," James replied. "It's not like they finish each other's sentences or anything."
Remus looked at them, " it thought you two liked the name, it's a perfect cover for you, as good as ours."
"Little Red Riding Hood had no choice but to accept her muggle fairytale nickname-"
"Her name isn't even a muggle fairytale princess, is it Fabian-"
"It's just the name of a girl with a red cloak who can't tell her grandmother was eaten, Gideon-"
"But we could do-"
"Without muggle princess names-"
"When we don't need to hide our identities, right Gideon?"
"Right Fabian."
"Ok we call you that, now spill," Remus replied.
For the next few days the six of them of them watcher Glidory run in panic trying to find Dolores' family galleons. His bragging stopped completely. He also didn't know Dolores was a 23 year old ministry of magic member who wouldn't contact a 12 year old. And if she did, lords of people would happily call the aurors on her.
Glidory was in a panic for days much to the amusement of the six until someone put him out of his misery and told him she changed her mind and took her galleons back. The six still got amusement from Glidory's flushed face.
But the fun was short lived. The six were at Hogwarts for Christmas Break for various reasons. Sirius and James were at the castle after James' parents recently passed away. Remus' parents were on vacation with his aunt. However Peter went home to visit his mom.
The twins' sister Molly was struggling with teething twins who were now learning to walk, mischeviously. And she couldn't move quickly with them in the middle of a dark, dangerous war. Arthur was swamped in a Ministry surrounded by death eaters. So the Prewitt twins' mother kindly asked them to stay at Hogwarts and not influence the teething twins. The Prewitt twins already influenced the younger twins enough at birth.
Molly was stuck with teething twins, four kids, and constant danger without an army of babysitters to help her. Arthur was struggling in the ministry among death eaters. They couldn't do anything for the holidays during the war anyways. Billius-Kasper, and Luca were visiting her on an off along with aunt Muriel and Molly's parents. Septemus and Cordella aided Molly through Billius-Kasper and Luca. Linny was left altnerating with Rupertin's Genie clan and Great Aunt Muriel.
So the parents suggested the twins and Rupertaus stayed at Hogwarts. They were allowed to have a floo call from McGonagall office to the Burrow a few times.
But they spent Christmas in Hogwarts as their respective parents, Molly, and Arthur felt they were safer at Hogwarts as well.
However right as Christmas break was ending a bombshell landed in the form of a Flammulated owl, a northem Pgymy owl, a spotted owl, and a Northern saw-whet owl flying in with daily prophets. The owls dropped the prophets along the Gryffindor table, which was only occup by the six, Glidory, Mary Emmeline, and Lily Potter.
The saw blade being sharpened like sound that came from the northern saw-whet owl flying in, was nothing compared to the bomb the owl dropped.
The whole hall went deathly silent at the sight of the front page of the Prophet. Mary dropped her spoon which fell with a clatter.
Rupe barely noticed the northern saw-whet hooting at her with the sound of saw blade being sharpened. She absinmindedly made fake spangold and merged it with a swmi copper button. Then she absinmindedly changed the shape and insignia of the button to make it look like a knut. She dropped the fake knut in the owls leather pouch. It was clear the fallen ministry aka death eaters were using the saw blade sounding owls to collect fees for the Death Eater-ized prophet. Rupe had no bones with stealing the one knut prophets. She took the knut back from the indignant owl that took a bite of toast, and held the knut under the table as she gemino'd it. She put one knut back in the owls pouch then pushed the rest down the table. The owl flew off with a pinch of butter once she '"paid". It was barely a discount for how much food the owls took.
Emmeline was leaning onto Lily for support. James' and Remus' face drained of all color. The twins for once looked like jokes were furthest from their minds as they sat there ashen faced.
Rupertin barely comprehended anything as she sat there with a ashen face, starting down at the headline: McKinnons Massacre: Voldement's Death Eaters Make An Example From Traitors
Rupertin doesn't know how long she stared at the headline and the picture of the thr McKinnon house razed down with a dark mark shimmering above the wreckage of the house. The article went on to list the culprits as Bellatrix Lestrange, Alecto Carrow, Amicus Carrow, Rodolph's Lestrange, and McNair. The Prophet could write Voldemort's name as the Taboo didn't work of voldemort was just written down. So the Prophet Death Eater writers were jerks and used his name in every article about him to spread fear. It was. It was effective to scare the crap out of everyone when the prophet reported gruesome attacks like the McKinnon Massacre.
Rupe can everyone flinch after reading Voldemort's name. Nevermore the picture of the aftermath of the Massacre. The fire in the wreckage, so did the final foundation that crumbled in the black and white photo. And the damn dark mark snake moved in the black and white photo.
When Rupertin looked back up Emmeline was being assisted by Mary and Lily, likely to the hospital wing.
The Prewitt twins were huddled together and Remus was wiping his eyes. James was also starting ahead with glistening eyes. At the teachers table Dumbeldore was gone, and the teachers were huddled anxiously near the door.
Rupertin glances back at the Gryffindor table. Sirius is not only looking at the Prophet, he's flipping through it and his face is stoically staring at a page image.
James seems to snap out of his reverie, staring unseeingly at the Great Hall's twinkling, shimmering Chrismas decoration, and notice Sirius the same Rupertaus does.
"What's wrong mate?" He says into Sirius' ear but Rupertaus doesn't hear a sound.
James reads the article over Sirius' shoulder and his face becomes unreadable. Remus notices too and looks over James at the article, with the same reaction.
Sirius jumps up and runs out if the Great Hall, followed by the other two. The trio look after them then pick up the abandoned daily Prophet.
Inside is an obituary for a Regalus Black.
The mood grown somber if it's even possible. Glidory quietly gets up and leaves. Ludo, a 3rd year Hufflepuff, also leaves. Pandora a 7th year Ravenclaw is is heard crying with her friends, she was close to Marlene.
"It doesn't make sense," Gideon's voice breaks through Ruperaus' thoughts. She turns to him, his face is unusually devoid of its unusual mischief. "The black house elf Kreacher disappeared before Reglaus passed away."
"The elf probably ditched the wizards who joined the monster that got their son killed as a gift. The Elf probably had enough of those wizards and said to hell with the elf bondage. These death eaters are burning everything to the ground," Fabian grit out. "Enough is enough."

Rupertin parted ways with the twins and treakked back to the Gryffindor connen room. Classes were canceled for the 3 days after Christmas Break.
Rupertin didn't see Sirius gr James, or Remis in the common room. She barely saw any one from Gryffindor. Mary and Lily were talking about going back to the infirmary to see Emmeline.
They looked shaken up and ashen, just how Rupertaus felt. She caught the tail end of their conversation as they scurried out of the portrait hole. The war hasn't just it taken our friend it had to go and take Sirius brother too, "Mary mumered.
"How many mof our near and dear ones will we see being v picked off," Lily demanded quietly.
Rupe had her hand on the propeht, her finger
obituary of Regalus. She went upstairs, unwilling to hear more, her fingers
never ceasing to act like a bookmark to the obituary pags, to the empty dorm room and learned by her trunk.
She fished out invisible potion, that she always kept a stack of during these trying times, sometimes chameleon charm might not do the trick. She sat on her bed, the heavy silence of the empty dorm weighed on her as
the golden sunlight filtered in the dorm room. The glittering white snow outside and the bare silvery brown the branches looked too trranquil for a world entrenched in a bloody war. And where one part of the population was unaware of it but still a huge target at the same time. The muggle government from every country worked with wizard gives to keep the muggles population safe, but they couldn't breach the Statue of Secrecy. Instead they worked with the wizards to guard the muggles as much as they could. The magical catastrophe department were watching over muggles and trying to keep themsafe. But it was hard because wizards could barely protect themselves.
Rupertin was part leprechaun (1/3), part genie(1/3), part
Fairy (2/9), and part witch (1/9). She was the only Weasley daughter born after several generations to the world. Billius-Kasper and Luca's marriage was a scandal, Rupertaus was never seen until after their second child Linny was born. Rupertin's' small stature because of her maledictus, changed her appearance every 8 hours, made her appear 4 years old when she was 6. The Blacks didn't know exactlt when she was born until she started Hogwarts. Her Weasley red hair became scarlet color every 8 hours, then switched back. Her orange eyes barely changed, it was thought she had some Prewitt genes or inherited the orange eyes from the Brown side.
She spent most of her time in the desert or forestsof Turkey. She leared to make fake gold them alloy it with sickles or konnts. Once the fake leprechain gold alloyed with silver or from the sickles or copper from knuts, it doesn't disappear. It looked like very real white gold or pink gold for knuts that flickered, occasionally.
The leprechaun gold didn't dissappear. The fake
white or pink gold only flickered back to its original metal, without leprechaun gold, for a second or two. To most people it looked like a trick of the light.
Rupertin learned how to alloy fake yellow gold into sickles then cham the Sickles to change to the size of galleons, and have a G insignia -nstead of S insignia on the coin. She did the same with knuts, except she alloyed fake spangald into the copper to match the color of the galleons' yellow gold.
Rupertin didn't do money laundering with wizard currency, she only learned prankes on wizards, especially muggleborns. She also learmed to make
'majic trick" shows for wizards for money. Her genie side taught her she could do money laundering with muggle money, after granting muggles 3 wishes to really help them, by geminoing the money , then exchane the
fake muggle money for wizard money. She was taught to sell leprechaun gold to muggle pawn shops that took gold for very low rip off prices, those pawn shop owners got 3 wishes without knowing. Muggle money conversion wasn't regulated anyways. But Rupertears wasn't thieving, she was only learning the leprecham and genie trade, to help the downtrodden like house elves. Her home was very different then her Birtish witch roomates counterparts. Even Mary and Lily last very diffrent lives than her. She didn't get a normal childhood, thought to be the end of the Weasley gender curse, the Blacks were also pleased thats she didn't stop the other Weasley curse.
A Seer told Billius-Kasper, Luca, Arthur, and Molly that the Weasley curse of misfortune will be broken when girl was born after six boys were born. The Seers' prophecy reached Cassiopa and the other Blacks. It was clear Rupertin only broke the Weasley several generations of boys curse, and that curse meant the Weasleys could naturally inherit the Black Lordship with the amout of male heirs they had. Rupertin ended that and even prevented the Weasleys from not being misfortunate, so the Blacks tried to weaponize Rupertin against the Weasley threat.
She was sent to Hogwarts instead of a genie school so the Blacks wouldn't get suspicious.
