CH 5 Velvet Venom
Rupe agrees with him on that. She also always tries to convince the Mauraders to follow every single safetly precaution during their full moon romps. And the twins even seconded her opinion with jokes, when they overheard once time. Firenze understands werewolves be then Albus or any wizard, but he doesn't allow Remus to be out of the shrieking shack if Sirius and James aren't there.
Rupe goes deeper in the forest, that's sprinkled with glitterly snow. Like the Christmas buubles and decor, it contricists with the war raging outside Hogwarts. The red represents the neverending to bloiodshed and almosy taints the decor. The sparkling snow represents the purebloods and old ministry's greed, who put ambition over life and taints the holiday, but the glittering snow also represents the forgotten players like the centaurs, elves, leprechauns' playful innocence. And that is alright. The leprechauns, faires, and genie have all denounced Voldemort along with the centaurs(who rejected all wizards), porlocks, nostails, dwarves, and crupies, sirens, boogeymen, porlocks, and, and wood nympts
The boogymen in particular refused to join Voldement and wish they found him when they he was younger. All these creatures knew Voldemort would continue oppresion, and it would be much worse than the ministry's version. The initial rewards voldemoet promised was only for their service. After that he would dispose of them when he had no use of v then. The centaurs liked to scream rant about this to other creatures in the forests, where wizards couldn't hear them.
Rupe had no specific direction in mind. She can't get the image of the razed house out of her head. She only holds the prophet to look at the obituary. Sirius' brother is way too young, like Marlene. Still children 5 years ago, not even 18. She has never interacted with Regales even though he is in her year. She has a shared potion classes with him until he took Newt potions in 5th year and she went took Newt Charms, divination, and arithmanc classes. She has seen him around Sirius and even Narcissa, before Nacissa graduated. Once when she was a first year she saw him with the dreaded Bellatrix
She avoided Bellatrix out of self preservation and her instincts were dead on, Bellatrix was hunting her kind on the side right now. Bellatrix was a huge bigot fom the start, but there wasn't a level of craziness in Bellatrix back then to the point where she would behead house elves or kill creatures or muggles. Rupe had heard Bella complain about beheading house elves, and wishing they would be kept in an elf house when they were on their last leg. But Rupe always sensed something was also off about Bella, she would fly off the handle if she felt something was not how she wanted it to be. She would lose all sense of control, and she already had low impulse contol. Rupe witnessed Bella almost beat a owl to death once because the owl tore her favorite scarf while trying to get away. Rupe was the head of thr Gobstones club becuase of the instincts that recognized Bellateix' madness. She was even a keeper during her 4th year. Regalus was the star Slytherin keeper, even though he was a chaser in his 2nd year. But Rupe was a good keeper too.
Rupe also avoided Bellatrix's look alike sister Andromeda out of fear of mistaking Bellatrix for her, and accidentally approching Bellatrix. She managed to successfully avoid her during her entire time at Hogwarts. Which was good because she was sure Bellatrix find out hee secret then murder her entire family. All the Blacks besides her grandpa Arcturus and Sirius would want to see Weasely blood, if they knew the curse wasn't broken. She was relieved when Bella graduated, but horrified to see what she noe does for a hobby. She knows Regulus was pleased Bellatrix is gone too. She hasn't seen Regalus up close up or interacted with him, she just knows he becomes extra stoic around Bellatrix and that he has ebony, curls, dark grey eyes, and symmetric chiseled features. He is shorter and a bit less leaner than Sirius, but just as good looking, in a different way. He was cold, cocky, and slick. People thought Sirius was the cocky ones but no one has seen the Slytherin gang in their element, when they let lose, or the arrogance they possess. If they mingled as much as the popular Mauraders, they would be just as popular. Or not a target in poor Severus' case. But Rabastan and Barty always made up for the bullying Severus got, they t giving it back to the Mauraders a tenfold in the corridors. Rupe knew for a fact that Regalus helped, out of bitterness toward Sirius and loyalty to Snape. Rupe had started making fake gold bristled brooms to keep the Slytherins off the Mauraders' backs.
But that's all Rupe knew, she's always been too quiet and distracted to bring attention to herself. Years of guarding her secret shaped her habits. When she didn't join in the Mauaraders' war on Severus, they ignored her and even were haughty to her since she wasn't as popular or in their circle.
She was close to the Pretwitts, Fabian even expressed interest in her. But they agreed the family tree would get weird if they got together. The Prewitts had their own thing. Rupe had no desire to help the Mauaraders everything with their attitude, therefore her friends were Hestia, Amelia, Pandora, Mary, her "cousin" Trina Brown, Emmeline, and Narcissa - who graduated last year.
She even kept to herself at Slughorn's party. She was invites for her jewlrely crafting abilities, entruperenal spirit, being the end of the Weasley curse/saving them, and record in Gobstones. She doesn't draw attention to herself in front of Regalus or the other Slytherins. She's not reserved in front of Sirius, or the mauraders, but indifferent to their shit, as she's plotted of out the dinner details of theirs pranks for them.
The stoic, poised, sneering Slytherins like Rab, Regalus, Severus, Avery, and Barty make her self conscious and somewhat paranoid. The Marauders and even Emmeline's group are transparent and explosive. Those Slytherins are onion layers, and drip velvet poison.
