It was Early morning and Erin Lindsay woke up feeling nauseous.

God, I feel awful.

She got out of bed, being careful not to wake Jay.

As she walked into the bathroom, she turned the light on.

Erin turned on the tap and started to throw water on her face.

She turned the tap off, and leant against the sink.

As she looked in the mirror, she felt her stomach churn.

Not now.

Erin crouched down and threw up in the bowl.

"Erin?"

She looked up, and noticed it was Jay.

"I-I'm fine!"

Jay wasn't convinced, he crouched down and held her hair back.

"Er, what's going on? You've been feeling sick all week."

Erin coughed, wiping her face.

"I…I don't have a clue?"

Jay was worried. He'd only seen her like this when she had a stomach bug or one of her migraines.

"Babe, we should get you looked at…"

Erin shook her head, and leant back into Jay's arms.

"N-No, I'm good…"

Jay kissed her head, gauging her temperature.

"You feel hot, I can call, Sarge. Let him know we need the day, he'll under-."

But, Erin cut him off.

"No! I'm going into work! It's probably a little stomach bug, I felt sick after dinner, so it must be that…?"

Jay stood up, and followed Erin.

"Er-."

But. She was already gone.

Dammit! She's so damn stubborn!

Jay got up and tidied the bathroom, before getting ready to go to the precinct.

After a few hours, Erin and Jay walked into the bustling bullpen. Erin's face was noticeably pale, catching Jay's attention.

He glanced at her with concern.

"Erin, you look like you've seen a ghost. Everything alright?" Voight asked, noticing her pallor.

Erin brushed it off with a wave of her hand. "I'm fine, just didn't sleep well last night."

Jay gave Erin a knowing look.

"She threw up this morning. Blaming it on the takeout we had last night."

Erin rolled her eyes. "It was just a bad batch, no big deal."

Voight raised an eyebrow. "You sure you're up for today?"

Erin nodded firmly. "Absolutely. Let's get to work."

The unit gathered around a table, enjoying their lunch. The smell of various takeout foods filled the air.

Erin walked by, her face turning even paler as she caught a whiff of the food.

"Hey, Lindsay, you okay? You look like you're about to hurl," Ruzek said, noticing Erin's reaction.

Erin forced a smile.

"I'm fine, just… not hungry."

Jay, sitting nearby, watched Erin closely. He saw her swallow hard and knew what was coming. He stood up quickly.

"Erin, let's get some fresh air."

But it was too late. Erin rushed to the nearest trash can and started vomiting. The unit looked on with concern.

Burgess got up to help. "Erin, are you sure you're okay? This doesn't look like just bad takeout."

Erin wiped her mouth and tried to regain her composure.

"I'm fine, really. Just need a minute."

Voight walked over. "Lindsay, if you're not feeling well, you should go home. We can handle things here."

Erin shook her head. "No, I can do this. Just give me a moment."

Jay put a supportive hand on her shoulder.

"Erin, maybe Voight's right. You need to rest."

Erin looked at Jay, seeing the concern in his eyes, and finally nodded.

"Okay, maybe you're right. I'll head home."

The unit watched as Jay helped Erin gather her things, and they left the bullpen together.

Downstairs, Erin got into the passenger seat and Jay belted her in.

Jay shut the door, and ran around to the driver's side and got behind the wheel.

"You alright, babe?"

Erin nodded, and leant against the window.

After a few hours, Erin and Jay walked into the warm apartment.

Jay took their gear off and placed it in the bowl and their 9mm's in the safe.

"Babe, wanna have a nap on the couch or go to bed?"

Erin sighed, and put her sweater on.

"Wanna have you in my arms to keep me warm."

Jay smirked and picked Erin up.

"C'mon, you!"

Erin giggled and held Jay.

They walked into the bedroom, and closed the door.

Later, Erin and Jay walked into the bustling emergency room of Chicago Med. Erin looked exhausted, leaning slightly on Jay for support. Dr. Natalie Manning spotted them and quickly walked over, concern etched on her face.

"Erin, Jay, what happened? You don't look so good, Erin," Natalie said as she approached them.

Jay gently guided Erin to a nearby chair. "She's been feeling sick all day. Threw up a few times. We thought it was just bad takeout, but it's not getting better."

Erin tried to smile. "I'm fine, really. Just need to get checked out."

Natalie knelt down to Erin's level, checking her pulse.

"Let's get you into an exam room. We need to run some tests to see what's going on."

Jay stayed close, his worry evident. Natalie called for a nurse to bring a wheelchair, and they helped Erin into it.

"We'll take good care of you, Erin. Jay, you can come with us," Natalie reassured them.

They wheeled Erin into an exam room, Jay following closely behind. Natalie started asking Erin questions about her symptoms and medical history as they prepared to run tests.

"Erin, have you had any other symptoms besides nausea and vomiting? Fever, chills, anything like that?" Natalie asked.

Erin shook her head. "No, just the nausea and vomiting. And feeling really tired."

Jay squeezed Erin's hand. "We'll figure this out, okay? You're in good hands."

As Erin laid in bed with Jay, who was drawing lazy patterns on her arm, she looked at him.

"Jay, babe."

Jay stopped his ministrations, looking up.

"Yes, babe?"

Erin blew out a big breath, and sighed.

"What…what if I'm pregnant?"

Jay looked up, with soft eyes.

"Well, if that does happen, we'll be great parents!"

Erin nodded, and kissed his head.

"Yeah, 'course we will…"

Jay continued his ministrations, but could tell something was on his girl's mind.

After a few hours of waiting, Natalie walked back into the room with a smile on her face.

"Well, Erin, Jay, I have some news for you," Natalie said warmly.

Jay stood up, his concern turning into curiosity.

"What is it, Natalie?"

Natalie grinned. "Congratulations, Erin. You're pregnant."

Erin's eyes widened in surprise, and she looked at Jay, who was equally stunned.

"Pregnant? Are you sure?"

Natalie nodded. "Yes, the tests confirmed it. The nausea and vomiting are likely due to morning sickness. It's completely normal."

Jay's face broke into a wide smile, and he hugged Erin tightly.

"We're going to have a baby!"

Erin, still in shock but starting to smile, said, "I can't believe it. This is… amazing."

"I'll set you up with an OB-GYN to start your prenatal care. But for now, just take it easy and rest. Congratulations again, you two," Natalie added.

As Natalie left the room. Erin and Jay looked at each other, eyes glistening with tears.

"We're gonna have a baby!"

Erin nodded and hugged Jay, stroking his back.

"We're gonna have a baby…"
