Issue #1: New Game New Mutant.
"Where am I?" A young man asked himself as he woke up and suddenly found himself in a bizarre and unfortunate situation. This young man is inside of a steel cell with a mat on the ground and from behind the bars he saw that he was in some kind of military facility or something. The way the place was built seemed like a tip off along with the armed guards who seemed to be running past his cell.
The young man also heard people crying out for help near him in other cells along with somehow feeling a wave of negativity wash over him like a tidal wave that brought him down to his knees.
Fear, sadness, terror. These sensations almost felt like a crushing weight being forced upon him and the oddest thing was that he wasn't the one feeling it. Somehow in some way, the young man knew he was sensing other people's emotions. Like something instinctual told him that he had the power to sense emotions before he heard a strange ding noise in his ears that caused him to look up and see a dark purple floating text box appear before his eyes.

"I got reincarnated with powers from millions of fanfics and manga?" David asked himself before he forced himself back to his feet with a wince of pain. "I'd be happier if my own power wasn't hurting me."
David did his best to ignore the mental strain and think about the situation before realizing that he couldn't remember how he got into this place, but he also didn't remember anything about his past life except for things in pop culture. Hell, he didn't even remember his own name and yet this new life he had was basically second nature to him.
He was an orphan who got kicked out of CPS after turning eighteen and made a living by moving from homeless shelter to homeless shelter while struggling to hide the fact that he was a mutant.
"Mutant…Ah shit." David groaned in realization that he wasn't in a random anime world and instead was in a world of planet killers aka Marvel. And the worse part is that Marvel comics has basically infinite realities and David had no idea about which reality he wound up in. Also, the fact that he was in a mutant prison of some kind wasn't any help.
"Strange. Your powers aren't being inhibited." A female voice said within my mind which was extremely scary to think about. "Don't fret darling. My associates and I came here to help free you and the other children. Just give us a moment."
"Do you have a name or is this a sign of developing a multiple personality disorder or something? Granted that could be the case even with a name, but I'd still like to have a name added to this strange voice." David replied before hearing a chuckle.
"My name is Emma Frost."
Daivd hesitated from the name along with hearing screams nearby and the sound of an explosion before the bars to his cell suddenly lowered into the ground along with the cells of the other prisoners/captives.
David slowly walked out like the other children and saw people down the hallway clad in various colorful suits and David couldn't help but speak without thinking.
"The X-men." David said and thankfully his memories told him that the team was a well-known group of heroes. Wolverine, Gambit, Beast, Storm, Emma Frost, Cyclops, Marvel Girl and Nightcrawler. The last three mentioned looked to be teens like David, which was a bit strange, but he wouldn't complain anytime soon.
"Worry not young ones. Were here to escort all of you to safety." Beast said politely and soon enough a group of twenty teens and children followed the X-men throughout the strange facility until they reached the outside which seemed to be some jungle like area.
However, David didn't focus on the location and instead focused on the X-men's Blackbird jet waiting for them.
"Everyone in, one at a time." Storm said in a motherly like tone to the younger ones before everyone piled into the jet which was being piloted by none other than Professor Xavier and the main man Colossus.
David couldn't help but be a bit shaky and nervous. He had so many questions. Like whom were the people that seemingly captured him? What did they plan on doing to him if the X-men hadn't shown up? Why was he sent to a new world in the first place? And why did his 'Gamer' powers seem so weird? He didn't have an HP bar or stamina bar or MP. His stats also seemed strange and oddly enough he didn't get a starter quest or anything.
The jet ride wasn't terribly long and after the Blackbird landed at Xavier's school. The children, teens and David himself were being looked over by Beast and Emma Frost for medical evaluations as well as getting into contact with the family members of missing mutant kids.
Or at least the ones that cared anyway. Sadly, mutants being hated was a staple of every reality apparently.
"You seem to be malnourished young man. Have you been eating properly before you were captured by the U-men?" Beast asked while David sat on a medical bed since it was his turn to be examined.
"Not really. I move around from place the place, so I usually get by with fast food and quick snacks." David admitted while Beast wrote stuff down on his clipboard.
"Well, while you're here you can have a nutritional meal and some much-needed rest. I also noticed you have some slight insomnia which likely stems from your telepathic abilities." Beast explained.
"Yeah. Sensing emotions doesn't seem to have an off switch. That makes it hard to relax."
"Understandable, several mutants have similar problems to yours, best rest assured that with time and proper education, you will be able to control your powers or at least be able to properly manage them to aid in decreasing the strain on your body." Beast explained with a kind smile.
"Thank you doctor."
"No need to thank me young man and please call me Hank." Hank said making David smile a bit.
"Okay. But I do have to ask. After a get some food, what should I do? I don't have any family to go back too, and I can't even remember where I was kidnapped from."
"If that's what you're worried about then you couldn't have picked a better place to be my dear boy. Head to the cafeteria and get a good meal. Afterwards things will be explained to you and the other children who aren't fortunate enough to have…Understanding family members." Hank explained before handing David a small paper map of how to get to the cafeteria from the medical office.
"At least I can finally get something to eat." David said while he started walking towards the cafeteria. "I never thought I'd say this, but I'm sick of junk food."

The cafeteria was where the kidnapped children were gathered along with being given meals of real food. David got his plate and sat at a table by himself while eating his fill which tasted heavenly in his opinion. After he was allowed a second plate and promptly filled his stomach for the first time in a long time, the cafeteria slowly became quiet as Professor Xavier and Emma Frost entered the room.
"Now that each of you have had a proper meal and had time to rest a bit. We have some serious matters to discuss." Xavier stated with a smile that took any form of tension out of the room. "Some of you have unfortunately been living on the streets or in hiding due to mutant bigotry and hatred. So, for those of you in those circumstances or those of you who wish to remain here. We are more than willing to accept you into this institute where you can safely learn to harness and control your gifts as well as staying in a place free from the stigma of mutant hate."
Emma Frost picked up the speaking and carefully informed all the children about the school. Such as the rules, expectations, dress code and so on for the people willing to stay and David listened intensely since he sure as hell wasn't willing to go back to barely surviving in the streets.
At the end of the day some of the rescued children were able to be reunited with their families who were happy and grateful to have their child back while a few chose to leave on their own. David was in the minority of people who chose to stay at the school of his own accord and was shown to his dorm room in the boy's dorm.
A big room just for him since he didn't have a roommate and first thing tomorrow morning, he would be able to start a proper education. Now, it might sound weird, but David didn't mind going to school like other teens. It was people who made school miserable, but David put the thought behind him before he got comfortable in his new large bed before drifting off to sleep.
Apparently, proper nutrition, mental exhaustion and physical strain was more than enough for his powers not to interfere with him getting a good night's rest.

North Salem/Xavier's school for Gifted Youngsters
"Ow." David groaned in pain when he woke up due to his powers of sensing emotions stirring him awake and frankly, David was starting to get annoyed with his powers.
"Okay, my powers won't let me get back to sleep, so I might as well get up." David said to himself before waking up and realizing that he slept in his slightly ruined clothes of a torn-up hoodie and faded jeans with worn out sneakers…He took a moment to fully realize just how depressing he might have looked to other people.
"What's this?" David asked himself when he noticed what looked to be a black handle operated suitcase on the ground with a note attached to it.
[Dear: David.
Your enrollment process will be starting today when you awaken and consider this a gift from the school with no charge or reimbursement required. We can't have our young minds not looking their best after all.
Sincerely: Vice Principal Emma Frost.]
"Well, that's convenient." David said while opening the suitcase and finding a change of clothes that could fit him along with some soap, a towel, toothbrush and other cleaning supplies.
David wasted no time getting undressed and grabbing the cleaning supplies before entering the small bathroom attached to his room and stepped into the corner shower where he scrubbed away the dirt and grime that had covered his body for far longer than he liked. The shower was a hot and long one as David took the time to enjoy the feeling of getting cleaned before he stepped out of the shower and wrapped the towel around himself before getting a good look at himself in the mirror.
Tall, light dark skin with brown eyes and black hair done in a moderately large and unkempt afro which David was going to get rid of as soon as possible. He was also unhealthy skinny showing that he didn't always have meals when he needed them.
"Life is rough, but being at this school can hopefully make things better." David said to himself before brushing his teeth and so on before fully drying off and getting dressed in the black long sleeved button shirt with tan khaki pants and comfy brown boots. However, before he left his room, he went into his bathroom again and checked the sink cabinets and found a pair of scissors. "Now it's time to get rid of this."
David wasn't a fan of dealing with too much hair at one time. He never liked dealing with the hassle of maintaining it, so with his scissors in hand he started cutting his hair until it was much shorter and more manageable. Granted he needed a proper barber, but now he at least looked cleaner without the rat's nest on his head.
"Not bad for a self-style."
Knock-Knock.
"Whose knocking on my door?" David asked himself before answering the door and seeing the source of the kind and calm emotions near him.
The person was Jean Grey herself. One of Marvel's most powerful characters as far as humans are concerned and definitely one of the most beautiful, which is why David couldn't help but blush a tiny bit when he saw her waiting on him with a backpack on her back while another one was in her hands.
"Hi. Professor Xavier and Miss Frost thought it would be best if I was the one to show you around the campus and help you learn the class schedules." Jean said sincerely while David cleared his throat and calmed himself.
He didn't know if she was already dating Scott Summers and since Logan is much older than her, he didn't want to consider how weird that situation would be. David for sure wanted to date Jean but he wasn't a home wrecker and despite the hate he gets, David considered Cyclops one of his favorite X-men.
"No problem. The name's David by the way." David said while the girl chuckled.
"I know. I'm Jean Grey and I'm a telepath like you. Or actually you're an empath which is also something I do, but that might be getting into X-gene power theory, and I couldn't explain it better than Mr. McCoy. He loves teaching that class." Jean said before the two of them started exploring the campus along with Jean giving David his newly supplied backpack of school materials.
Charles Xavier's Office
"Surely Cerebro could have made a mistake." Emma suggested while standing across from Charles who sat behind the desk in his office.
"It is possible, but we can't ignore the possibility of another Omega level mutant." Charles stated calmly before moving his wheelchair closer to the window where he saw David and Jean walking through the courtyard.
"It is concerning that Cerebro picked up on David specifically before reaching the other trapped children. Granted without him we might not have even known about that U-men complex, but normally an Omega level mutant would have more incredible power than what David possess." Emma said before taking a breath. "It's possible that with training he might be able to manipulate emotions or control them, but even with that being the case. He couldn't be stronger than a Gamma level."
"Miss Frost. You and I both know that mutant categorization can only be trusted in the broader sense of readings and doesn't purely signify a mutant's potential for growth. Anna Marie is a prime example."
"Beta level mutant who can become Omega level if she maintains contact with someone powerful enough." Emma said with a sigh. "I'm not saying that he is weak or anything of the sort, Charles. Nor am I looking down on him. All I'm saying is that the odds of another Omega level mutant popping up out of nowhere is next to nonexistent."
"The odds are always stacked against us Miss Frost. Besides, even if he isn't an Omega level mutant I would still suggest that Jean and the other trainees would do nothing but benefit David socially. He's young and has been somewhat anti-social for years. So, seeing mutant like himself struggle and overcome their difficulties can do nothing but help him." Charles replied with a heartwarming grin as he sensed the slight joy David felt while speaking with Jean who could also empathize with a mutant struggling to control their gifts.
"To be young again." Emma said fondly before making her way to the office door. "We'll give him time to adjust before making him a trainee. And for the record. I'm glad that Cerebro sensed him too. I don't even want to imagine what that cult would have done to those children had you not sensed David when his powers spiked."
Emma left the room and allowed Charles to be alone before he moved from the window back to his desk where he began looking over the files of David which Emma had acquired for him. Charles couldn't help but let out a sigh of his own as he read about the hardships that David had to go through in the system before being sent out into the world underprepared and with no help available to him. The fact that he didn't try to abuse his powers or harm others was nothing short of a miracle since powerful mutants tended to lash out when backed against a wall.
Science Class.
David sat near the back of the class while taking down notes as the teacher Ms. Munroe explained some basic scientific principles and equations. It took David by surprise since he figured that Mr. MacCoy would teach science or drama or social studies, but apparently, he taught mutant power theory which wasn't as cool as you'd think.
A lot of advanced biology, science and mathematics went into that class to determine how strong one mutation is compared to another and that's not even speaking about the complex power scaling and mutant power classifications.
Despite how difficult the classes were, David did learn a lot which would help him blend in and not be outed as a total outsider. But a question still itched the back of his head.
If he is in the X-men universe, then why are there records of Hydra experimenting on mutants during World War 2. Sadly, the answer to that question was simple and that was because the Avengers were a thing which meant that he wasn't just in an X-men universe, but he was in a total Marvel universe were stories intersect into one another.
David could practically feel his head pounding while he thought of the scary idea of Hydra attacking the school along with the fact that he was totally failing this class since Ms. Munroe called him out for not paying attention, which got a few laughs and caused David some mild embarrassment.
'I take back what I said earlier…I hate school.'
END!
A/N: Okay this is going to be my last new story for a while and this one is something I think I'll enjoy a fair bit because this gamer system is more…Persona like instead of a generic RPG and before anyone says anything. No there will be no persona monsters or anything, I'm simply making a comparison.
Also, it's marvel so while this story can get dark. There will be funny and goofy subjects as well.
Please remember to fav, follow and review.
