Saki, Ruby, Blake, Sapphire, and the blonde boy walked along a path headed towards the auditorium. "All I'm saying is that motion sickness is extremely common." The boy said. "Maaa, Vomit boy was the first thing we thought of prior to realizing you barfed on yang's shoe." Saki said some heat in his voice.
The Narehate was slightly miffed at the boy since yang had targeted his tail to use as a wipe. "Oh yeah, what if I called you furball? Or her Crater face?" the boy said pointing at sapphire with the later nickname.
"FURBALL!?" Saki exclaimed before seeing ruby reach for her tanto. " Easy, it's pretty obvious that he's getting back at us for the vomit boy nickname." The Narehate said in his native tongue apparently able to ease the elder Rose sibling's temper. The two noticed that Blake and the blonde boy looking at them.
"Two things. Firstly, Mr. Hollow was speaking in his native tongue just now. Secondly, that explosion was an accident." Sapphire said. "Ah, I see. Anyways, the name's Jaune Arc. Short, sweet, and the ladies love it."
The trio of girls and single Narehate gave him a deadpan stare. "Maaa, do they?" Saki asked raising an eyebrow, amusement in his voice. "I hope they do."
The Narehate chuckled. "all bark, no bite. Sometimes that form of confidence will get you killed in the Abyss boy." He said in his native tongue. Saki and Ruby glanced at one another and shared a smug smile.
"He wouldn't last a day." Ruby said. "Maaa, I was thinking more like two hours till he sallied out." Saki said before he and Ruby nodded in agreement. Sapphire sweat dropped at the comments of both her biological sister and her sister's caretaker.
"Erhm Sapphire?" Blake asked. "Yeah Blake?" the Azure reaper asked. "What are they even talking about?" the younger Rose sighed in exasperation. "They're debating how long Jaune would last in the Great Sinkhole or as they call it; The Abyss."
This statement caused both Blake and Jaune to pale considerably. "Wait, you guys live in the Great Sinkhole?" Blake asked. "Fourth layer, all my life. Ruby's been with me for 12 years. I've been hoping to reunite her with her family before going back." Saki said before noticing the older rose sibling open her mouth to protest.
"No Ruby, you're staying with them when I depart. It's where you belong. Don't forget I still have Miss Grumpy and Mitts to keep me company from time to time." The Narehate's gaze then softened.
"Sides, I'm sure you'll find someone to fill the void I leave behind." Saki gave Ruby a smug grin casting a quick glance at Blake. Ruby blushed slightly.
"So, what do you guys have for weapons because I got this." Sapphire asked pulling out crescent Rose. "That's a scythe." Juane said.
"It's also a custom high impact sniper rifle." Sapphire said pride in her voice. Jaune blinked. "Maaa, It's a gun doofus." Saki deadpanned. "Oh."
What about you Blake? What's your weapon like?" the Azure reaper asked. "My weapon is called gambol shroud. It's basically a pistol and Katana mixed together." Blake said. "The blade can collapse in order for me to use the gun part. I can also use the sheathe as a weapon since one side acts like a sword."
The Ravenette watched as Sapphire gained stars in her eyes. "Maaa, guess it's our turn." Saki said. "I basically use a Musket with modifications of both my and Sapphire's design. "Modifications?" Blake asked raising an eyebrow.
"His gun originally wouldn't have been able to fire dust rounds since in the abyss or as we call it; The Great Sinkhole, they use bullets. Had to do the same modifications for big sis Ruby's sawed-off lever action." Sapphire said.
"What about yours, ladies' man?" Saki joked making Jaune blush. "Well, I got these." He said unsheathing a sword. Saki's eyebrows raised slightly when the sheathe extended into a shield
"Oooh, what is it?" she asked. "a hand-me-down. it was my great grandfather's during the war." Jaune said.
"Maa, I noticed that the shield is collapsable." Saki said pointing at Jaune's shield arm. "Very clever of your great grandad." Sapphire raised an eyebrow.
"Wouldn't it just weigh the same Mr. Hollow?" she asked. "it would, but having the shield also be sheathe is a good idea. It reduces the weight that often comes with having them separate."
"I never thought of it like that." Jaune said surprised, collapsing his shield. Sapphire chuckled "same here. Not very many people appreciate the classics these days." She said getting an unamused deadpan from Saki.
"You call his sword a classic, but my musket archaic?" the Narehate said with an eerily calm tone that sent a shiver down Jaune and Blake's spines whilst Sapphire sweat dropped.
"I'm sorry Mr. Hollow not very many people use regular rifles against the Grimm. That and other than professor Port, whose rifle is actually a blunderbuss crossed with an ax. No one's ever used your type of gun before." Sapphire said.
"Maa, fair enough." Saki said. "um, I don't mean to be rude but is he always this scary?" Jaune asked. "Scary?" Ruby asked before realizing what he meant.
"Oh don't worry that's just part of Mr. Hollow's facade. You see, back in the Abyss, he and I are pretty infamous legends amongst the many Cave raider stories that'd scare wanna-be raiders." Ruby said with a mischievous glint. Blake watched Sapphire roll her eyes.
"Oh here we go." She said having heard the explanation. "Back home, for use mind you, Mr. Hollow and I are known infamously as the raider killer and Scarlet hunter respectively.." Ruby said.
To add emphasis, she raised her scarf over her mouth adopting her Scarlet Hunter façade whilst drawing her sawed off rifle and unsheathed her tanto while Saki adjusted his helmet and schooled his features before giving the three what could be considered a cold taunting grin all the while his face was partially shadowed.
"O-okay. I'm good." Jaune stammered out. Despite knowing these two actually meant no harm, what they just displayed showed just how dangerous they were if provoked. Blake, on the other hand, said nothing. She was trembling, not in fear, but in excitement.
'Oh Oum, that was hot.' She thought before shaking her head. "So, you actually…" the ravenette began to ask. "Yes, but only those we saw and deemed to have bad intentions. We should get to the auditorium." Saki said
LATER IN THE AUDITORIUM
"Well, we'll see you at initiation Jaune." Sapphire said taking off with Ruby, Blake, and Saki before he could reply.
"Well, I'll see you all at initiation." Blake said. however, just as she was about to walk away, someone grabbed her arm. Turning, she saw it was Ruby, who immediately realized what she did.
"I was hoping to introduce you to my and Sapphire's half-sister, Yang." Ruby said bashfully. Saki and Sapphire noticed the girl fidgeting slightly and they looked at each other.
Blake sighed. She'd wanted to go solo, but something about the girl's request bothered her and judging by the actions of her younger sister, and caretaker cemented her choice.
"Sure, why not." Blake said. Saki sighed as ruby stopped fidgeting. "So, has she already formed a bond with her or does Ruby actually like her?" Sapphire asked him whispering when they were out of hearing range. "A bit of both I think."
THAT NIGHT
"So Blake, you've heard our stories what's yours?" Yang asked. Blake was about to speak when… "Don't you realize that some of us need to sleep?" came the Schnee's annoyed voice.
"Maa, as much as I hate to say it yang. The Heiress is right. We have a big day tomorrow." Saki said. The heiress made to say a snotty comment, only to freeze when she saw Saki placing a blanket over Ruby's body.
"Sweet dreams, my Lil' Rose." The Narehate said softly in his native tongue before kissing her cheek. Turning, Saki saw the four girls looking at him.
"What?" the Narehate asked. "You're such a Dad, Mr. Hollow." Yang said with a teasing grin. "I'm surprised Ruby hasn't called you that yet."
Saki sweat dropped. Ruby actually had done that once. By accident of course. "Maa." He said rubbing the back of his head, face gaining a red tint.
Sapphire scowled at Weiss. "I didn't appreciate you calling Mr. Hollow an animal." She said sternly. This caused Yang to glare at Weiss. This girl actually insulted one of her younger sisters' caretaker.
"Relax Sapphire," Saki said. "Narehates, despite the intelligence of some, are still considered animals. So no harm no foul."
"Still, doesn't make it right." Yang said crossing her arms. Letting out a yawn, Saki nodded. "I understand. Good night you four. Also, Sapphire and Yang, please keep it down. these ears aren't just for show remember." Yang nodded.
"Understood Mr. Hollow." She said watching the Narehate stretch before laying down next to Ruby. The sleeping girl immediately wrapped an arm around him and held him like a plushie.
"Are they..?" Blake and Weiss began to ask. "No, they aren't together. Big sis Ruby has nightmares if he doesn't sleep with her." Sapphire said.
"Why would she have nightmares?" Weiss whispered. "She lived in the Great Sinkhole for the last twelve years." Blake gasped silently.
"How bad?" She asked. "She woke up screaming the first night she was home. The night after that, Sapphire caught Mr. Hollow getting in her bed whilst she was talking frantically in her sleep." Yang said
Sapphire nodded. "We'd tell you more, but it's best if they tell you." She said before yawning "Night."
Weiss glanced at the sleeping Ruby and Saki. 'To live in the Great Sinkhole.. dear Oum, I can't imagine the amount of horrors they faced.' She thought before heading for her spot to sleep.
Yang looked at Blake. "Hey, thanks for standing up for Sapphire as well as preventing Ruby and Mr. Hollow from killing the Schnee. And yes, I'm pretty sure they'd have found a way to do so even with non-lethal ammo." She said.
"No problem," Blake said. she glanced at ruby and gained a slight red tint. "Any sane person would've done it. At least, anyone brave enough by how they act."
"You like her, don't you?" Yang teased making Blake's red tint spread to the rest of her head. "I won't tell her, I promise. You have my word." Blake smiled as her blush faded.
"Thank you Yang." The Ravenette said
A/N: Oh mama, Blake's already in love with Ruby and vice versa. The confession won't be until the docks. As for Mr. Hollow, he won't meet velvet until after that. Anyways, that's chapter 4 of the Mr. Hollow AU in the bag. With it now caught up with the original in regards with chapters, I'll be releasing new chapters for both stories roughly at the same time. Next up is initiation.
