Cordelia winced, groaned, then started rubbing her back. "Fuck, kid, I can't wait until you're out of here. Just a few more weeks to go." Pregnancy was not kind to her body, and she couldn't wait to meet this little baby that she and Angel had created together.

"You need a backrub, Cor?" Angel called out to her.

She grinned. "Thank you, but I think I'm just going to lie down now for a little while, see if that helps!"

Accidentally soulbonding with one another thanks to a run-in with a psychic demon had led to this surprise miracle pregnancy, and they were still grappling with all of this. They were struggling to wrap this head around this as they prepared for this baby they all couldn't wait to meet. And although Connor was less than a year old, Cordelia couldn't wait to see him become a big brother, how he handled it. She yawned and tried to settle into the bed, finding it harder and harder to get comfortable in these final weeks of pregnancy. She huffed out a laugh when Angel opened the door and stepped in. "Hungry? Having any cravings? I could send one of the others out to get you something," he fretted.

"You're sweet but get in here with me," she urged.

"You don't have to tell me twice." He kicked his shoes off and got into the bed with the woman he loved, splaying a hand across her stomach. They both giggled when the baby kicked. "We can't wait to meet you, little one."

"Don't make me cry," Cordelia chided. And then she realized she was hungry. "Actually, can you send someone out to the store to get me some chocolate cake? I'm craving the hell out of it right now."

"Now how did I know that was coming? I'll be back in a few minutes. Love you." He kissed her before departing to send one of the others out on yet another craving run.

Angel returned with said cake and a fork - courtesy of Fred - about fifteen minutes later. He had to help Cordy out of the bed but she sat down and began devouring her much wanted chocolate cake.

Once she finished eating, she held her hand out so Angel could help her up and they made their way back downstairs. "Pregnancy is a bitch." Her feet were killing her now, of course.

"I will give you that backrub, Cor. Why are you so stubborn?" His own back was starting to twinge a little now, thanks to the soulbond.

She sighed and flashed him a grin. "Fine." They made their way to a different couch, and Angel started giving her a backrub before switching to a foot massage. It didn't do much to help her swollen ankles but it eased Cordelia's pain just a bit.

They'd meet their precious baby soon, and they both knew this would all be worth it in the end.
