Chapter 12 the city dog and the vixen
Inside the thunder clan camp gray stripe and fire star began rubbing up against each other and started licking each others fur and when Isla asked tawny pelt what they were doing the vixens cat friend who was a lean mottled tortoise shell and white female cat said that it was a custom amongst the clans to increase bonds known as sharing tongues where all of us cats start grooming each other and telling our friends about our day and what has been going on in the clan recently the reason they are doing it now is because technically gray stripe is fire stars best friend ever since he joined the clan along with raven paw who Isla could see had also joined the other two Tom cats in sharing tongues and also gray stripe is the second highest ranking member of thunder clan now and then yellow fang came up to the vixen and the she cat and said I feel kind of sorry for raven paw imagine what his life would have been like if tiger claw had never terrorized the young Tom into leaving the thunder clan he probably would've been a lot more brave and tiger claw might not have gotten half as far as he did I wouldn't be to sure about that said a dark tortoise shell and white she cat with amber eyes that nephew of mine would have done anything for power to which yellow fang response was that fox heart was your nephew spotted leaf to which the newly named spotted leaf said yes I am the aunt of tiger claw gray stripe dust pelt raven paw sand storm and long tail since they are the kittens of my litter mates now that you are all caught up on my relationship with the enemy what are you doing here yellow fang to which the former shadow clan medicine cat said do you think your the only one who has a relationship to our enemies well you are not I am broken stars mother even though his father ragged star forced himself on me to which spotted leaf responded with I'm sorry I always knew that Tom was not worth a pile of mouse dung and then Isla got in between the two medicine cats and said sorry if I'm intruding on some thing I shouldn't but there's a bigger problem here we have a bunch of cats from the dark forest a evil pack of dogs and the vixen who attacked my home all here around the lake and me tawny pelt clover paw and vixen paw were all attacked by them who is vixen paw said fire star and spotted leaf in confusion then yellow fang answered with she was a shadow clan kit recently made apprentice you know her as apple kit and then all of a sudden a light brown Tom with glossy fur and amber eyes came up to Isla and asked you know apple kit how is she why not ask her yourself she is here but her mother and brothers joined tiger claw and the rest of the dark forest cats that's terrible said birch paw and then Isla added she is also being trained by little cloud the shadow clan medicine cat and just as Isla finished speaking a dark brown tabby Tom with amber eyes came up to Islas group and said tawny pelt I wasn't expecting to see you here what a surprise I was just about to show my new apprentice around the lake territory to which tawny pelt answered with actually yellow fang wanted to come see the new territory and asked me to join her along with my new friend Isla here little cloud and your new apprentices friend vixen paw who just became the new shadow clan medicine cat apprentice the main reason I came was to see you and mother to which bramble claw the new male answered well maybe you and I can go ask mother to join us on our patrol that is if you feel like going I think that would be a great idea said tawny pelt and with that the group of bramble claw tawny pelt and birch paw all left for the elders den the place where the elderly cats slept and poked their heads in to say mother bramble claw just got a new apprentice and me tawny pelt were wondering if you wanted to come along with us to explore the territory to which a pale ginger she cat with yellow eyes said I would love to but I have one condition what's that asked both tawny pelt and bramble claw mouse fur and long tail have to be allowed to come with to which all three young cats agreed to happily so the pale ginger she cat went over to a lean dark brown tabby Tom with a long tail and a nick in his ear and said long tail time to wake up so we can go for a walk and the Tom responded alright golden flower I am ready to go and then golden flower went over to a she cat who was small with eyes the color of sunlit ice and dusky brown fur and said to her mouse fur are you ready for a walk to which the she cat said yes golden flower I'm ready which warriors are we traveling with I wonder to which golden flower responded with both of my kittens have come home today well that's a good surprise said mouse fur so with that the group of cats left to go around the lake and once they started the saw a golden brown dog who was trying to give Isla a tour around his new den and both the male dog and the vixen asked where the group of cats was going and once golden flower explained what they were doing to the two canids lucky and Isla joined the group as well Isla so she could a better understanding of the territory and lucky to help long tail as a guide dog which lucky explained the concept of them to long tail that in the city where he used to live he often saw long paws who had lost their sight use dogs to help them get around and when the cats and Isla asked the dog what a long paw was lucky hit himself with his tail and said sorry I forgot you called them two legs and then golden flower said actually I often do the same for long tail after that rabbit blinded him and he was forced to be a elder with out his sight and then long tail agreed to accept the help of the dog and then golden flower asked Isla why she was her and the vixen then explained how she wound up in shadow clans pine forest after a vixen with one eye and her skulk attacked the former den she used with fire with her whole family inside and how she and tawny pelt had originally attacked each other but after the fight they became friends and then golden flower began rubbing her head against Islas chest and started purring while saying I'm happy my kittens could make such good friends since I think I may be going to join star clan soon but I hope I get to claw off tiger claws pelt at least before I die and then isla asked tiger claw why she wanted to hurt tiger claw to which tawny pelt and bramble claw explained that she was once tiger claws mate who gave birth to both of us which was a shock to both Isla and lucky as well as the dogs he got to attack thunder clan in the past killed my last male kit before bramble claw continued golden flower his name was swift paw and the former leader of thunder clan blue star refused to give him his warrior name so he thought finding finding out what was happening to all of the rabbits in the old forest that went missing would make blue star finally see him as a true warrior and give him his warrior name but it only cost him his life in the end as well as getting bright hearts face mauled by the beat and then lucky said I'm sorry that happened to you I heard about the dogs but I didn't know they took your son it must have been so hard to have both your mate betray you and later kill your son from a different litter in the process now I think I might be able to use one of my star clan gifts to help us determine which way to go next as the group reached the top of a hill and Isla asked you have been to star clan as well I thought I was the only none cat like creature to communicate with them and then all of the cats starred at the tow dog like creatures in bewilderment and said you both have been to star Clan when did this happen and lucky explained that the night after tiger stars attack he went out for a walk after meeting both fern cloud and sorrel tail the two expecting mothers of thunder clan and came across the she cat daisy and her kittens as well as maple shade and sand storm who along with a different Tom named smoky called a long paw/two leg with a stick that killed me with out touching me and that was how I came into contact with star clan and then Isla said I was attacked on my groups way here from river clan camp and then golden flower said that's impressive and then Isla continued with and we are not the only ones apparently there was a owl who was given nine lives by river clan as well now I've heard everything said bramble claw it was a miracle squirrel flight chose me over ash fur to which golden flower and tawny pelt said that's great news so when can I expect grand kittens said golden flower to which bramble claw answered not for a while yet we just mated for the first time the night tiger claw attacked and ash fur dust pelt and sand storm fled with tiger claw and that squirrel flies imposter maple shade and then tawny pelt said took you long enough to confess your feelings to her I thought I would be the one responsible for giving mother grand kittens and then bramble claw cut back with your one to talk is there any Tom your interested in to which golden flower respond with well I saw how she was looking at that kit of dust pelt and fern cloud shrew paw when he was alive and tawny pelt said mom your embarrassing me besides he is in star clan now so I can't mate with him no matter how much I want to and lucky said I wouldn't be so sure about that was he a small brown male with amber eyes to which tawny pelt said yes he was actually and lucky then said well you are in luck he came back from star clan when tiger claw attacked and he won't go back until this problem is dealt with to which tawny pelt said you saw him with pure happiness in her voice but then birch paw respond with oh you like my brother do you ms. Tawny pelt yes me and lucky saw him on that night while we were in the nursery because sorrel tail and mother wanted to meet lucky along with bracken fur which caused golden flower to ask did you enjoy meeting the queen's lucky and the dog quickly responded with yes I did but now we have something coming towards us it looks like a gray Tom cat but that's unfortunately all I can tell from here and as the Tom got closer he came up to the group and said hello there my name is jays talon and unfortunately I have been sent by the dark forest to kill you he said with a voice full of confidence and menace to which bramble claw and lucky said I would love to see you try it mange pelt to which jays talon answered bramble claw I have wanted to try to kill you ever since me and my siblings found out about the truth of our origins which caused lucky and bramble claw to stare at jays talon closely they noticed that jays talon seemed to be transparent and the strange Tom seemed to flicking his ears back and forth as though searching for something using only his ears and nose and his eyes seemed to be clouded over and then lucky came up with a idea every creature start making noises and separate which seemed to confuse the transparent gray Tom because jays talon was starting to turn around in circles and saying well it seems you all have found my biggest weakness but I can quite out all of you except for my target and lunged at lucky with claws that seemed unnaturally long and sharp for a cat claws and sliced through luckys throat open to bleed out and when lucky opened his eyes he saw that he was back in star clans hunting ground and leopard foot was looking at him and she said well it seems you have crossed paths with the sharp eyed jay who has fallen into darkness of the dark forest what's the dark forest asked lucky and leopard foot answered with the dark forest is unfortunately where all of the cats who have became our enemies reside rather than in star clan with us that's what the warrior code is meant for unfortunately my son tiger claw has fallen into the dark forest when he killed my brother for his lust of power now I have a new prophecy for you to give to the other leaders that will help you clear the darkness of the dark forest from the lake if you are willing to listen to which the city dog turned thunder clan protector said yes I am so with that the raven black she cat began to speak their will be four kits who will hold the power to banish the darkness once and for all for the flaming tail you must combine the tawny pelt with the golden tiger with the shrews claw from the cloud of fern dust for the leaf of holly you must combine the pool of leaves from the storm of fire with the crows feather from the foot of the dead ash for the heart of alder wood it will require the squirrel from the storm of fire and the claw of brambles from the golden tiger and lastly for the wing of dove you must combine the white wing from the bright cloud and the fallen birch from the cloud of fern dust beware the pool of ivy the blazing lion with no cinders in its heart and the sharp eyed jay with no light from the briar do you think you can remember all of that I'm afraid it was a little too much for your brain to handle and lucky said yes I got all of that and I'm sorry for the changes to the prophecy said leopard foot but we have had this prophecy for generations and we keep deciphering more for ourselves speaking of which me and the rest of star clan have agreed to a change in the medicine cats code as of now if a medicine cat has a good enough apprentice or a mentor willing to take on more task we will allow them to have both mates and kits to which lucky answered yes I will give your message to the leaders and with that lucky woke up and grabbed jays talon by his tail and threw him over the horizon.
