Author's Notes

Hey everyone, sorry for the longish wait for this chapter. Life has been busy, I was sick for almost 2 weeks and I had to deal with Writers' Block. Here are the boss/ ability blurbs from the last chapter. I also apologize for the blurbs not being in perfect sync with the story. I'll post the ability blurbs at the end of this chapter.

Vs. Antei's Revenge!

This fiery-headed leader is not giving up that easily. She, like the Great King, has a trusty mallet. But unlike Dedede, her hammer is gray as the sun reflects across the mighty weapon.

She truly does have more skills up her sleeve, it would be best to defeat her quickly!

Vs. Inkra and Kyōdaina's Revenges!

The ink-based artist and the metallic warrior are giving each other a helping hand to defeat Kirby and crew! Inkra was given a curse mark by her artist, that she would know when her painter sisters, Drawica and Paintra, were defeated in battle…by the Pink Demon no less! Kyōdaina wants to be the perfect fighter, so defeat both menaces now!

Chapter 8: Help from Afar! A King's Wishes!

As the earthquake shocked the planet known as Thálassa, but the Great King had a plan…

Dedede struck the ground with his own punch, which neutralized the original trembling of the watery world.

"What, huh? How strong is this guy?!" remarked Antei as she noticed that the seismic wave stopped.

"Strong enough to protect my people," Dedede replied.

Antei then summoned a mallet of her own, it wasn't as large as the penguin king's hammer, but it got the job done.

"Mimicking me is not going to save you now," Dedede said.

"Please, death would be more pleasant," snorted Antei.

She finally raised her right hand, when that happened a giant wave was summoned. It reached the height of the sky.

"Wait, she could always do that, but why now?! Is she nuts?! Her soldiers are here!" snapped Reiya.

"I've got this, Winterstorm Hyperblow!" shouted Star.

The fiery-headed leader threw some fireballs to stop the attack from the Devil Buster, however Antei was interrupted by Jackie. As the mermaid girl used some of the currents from the giant wave to stop the chaotic warrior.

Star's spell froze the humongous wave solid.

"HUH?!" Antei was nearly paralyzed with shock.

Bandana Dee then attacked with quick spear attacks at the caped warrior.

"Oof!" stated Antei as she was slammed through the frozen wave, and skipped across the water.

"Quick, after her!" yelled Dedede, but he noticed that the rest of his crew was busy fighting off the foot-soldiers of the Imperium. "Oh, right…".

"Super Dedede Jump!" announced Dedede as the Great King landed on countless Calajeng soldiers as they turned into star bits.

"Stardust Daisy Devastation!" remarked Star while she shot a yellow beam of daisies.

"Ack!" said the soldiers as they were being overwhelmed and the remaining soldiers finally disappeared after being attacked by the other members of Dedede and Star's team.

Antei broke her skipping, by spinning her hammer around her body in a horizontal manner.

Then, the caped warrior noticed her soldiers were gone and zipped over the ocean towards her opponents once more!

Meta Knight was busy fighting Kyōdaina, Kirby dealt with Inkra and Marco tried his best to defend Adeleine and Ribbon from all the chaos. Also, the Calajengs soldiers were closing in on their fights.

Kyōdaina threw some bombs at breakneck speeds, but the blue knight swatted them away like gnats as they exploded in the once peaceful sky.

'How fast is this knight?!' thought the armored android as she tried to keep some distance away from her opponent by shooting energy pellets.

The Masked Swordsman zipped across the battlefield, dodging and weaving everything Kyōdaina threw at him.

At last, Meta Knight caught up to his opponent. However, some Calajeng soldiers were on his trail and tried to attack the blue warrior.

Some had axes, swords, and guns. Others had shields. But they were no match for Sword Kirby and Meta Knight. As they were dealt quickly and swiftly.

Meta Knight clashed with one soldier, but quickly overpowered them with superior training.

"Ack!" groaned the Calajeng soldier.

Kyōdaina noticed this and got a clean hit on Meta Knight in what felt like forever.

'Damn, I have to be more careful…' thought the blue swordsman as he was knocked into the sandy ground.

The feminine android was about to strike again, but Kirby intervened and Inkra was closely behind!

Said hero attacked with a Sword Beam, which pushed her a few yards back. The ink-based fighter swiped her hair a couple of times, but missed.

"Spin Slash!" shouted Kirby while the multi-hit cut through Kyōdaina's defenses. He also attacked Inkra at the same time.

Meta Knight watched all of this, and then attacked Inkra with a tackle.

Inkra coughed and choked, as she tried to regain her compromise.

The pink swordsman noticed that Kyōdaina dropped some items from her compartment because of Sword Kirby's attack. It was Adeleine's paintbrush with the easel and Ribbon's Crystal Gun replica!

"Marco! Adeleine! Ribbon! I found your stuff!" shouted Kirby. He picked up the paintbrush, the easel and the replica, and tossed them to his friends. Kyōdaina tackled Kirby, but the pink puffball was stronger than he looked and overpowered the android with a kick.

Dream Land's Knight heard the commotion and grabbed both items, he then struck the ground with Galaxia and electricity appeared. Which caused Inkra to be paralyzed for a few seconds.

"Ack!" groaned Inkra.

But, a few seconds was all Meta Knight needed to toss both items towards Marco and the maidens' directions.

"I got it! I got it!" shouted Marco as he reached his hands

Ribbon then flew past the Latino American teen and into the clear sky as the fairy grabbed her Crystal Gun replica, also Adeleine's belongings. The pink-haired maiden then threw the paintbrush and easel to her comrade.

"Okay, I didn't get it, but quick thinking, Ribbon," Marco complimented the Ripple Star resident.

"Thank you, I couldn't let precious time be wasted, you know?"

"Right, right."

"I'm going to help Kirby, keep Adeleine safe, okay?"

"Of course."

And with that, Ribbon flew away, weapon in hand.

Adeleine went to work as she painted over her body, she had a helmet with a tail at the top with rocky gauntlets and shoes. She finally had a tank top with a heart on it and shorts. She was now Stone Adeleine.

She transformed into a large, blocky brown version of her body and charged to Inkra at top speed.

Despite being beaten by Sword Kirby and Meta Knight, the ink-based lieutenant still had the strength to stop Adeleine dead in her tracks.

"Is that the best you can truly do, you false artist?" snorted Inkra.

The two artists got into a struggle, but then a loud, deep horn could be heard over the horizon.

Surprisingly, it was not more Calajengs, but Thálassa soldiers instead. They came in all sorts of shapes and sizes, but many of them looked like mermaids with actual human legs.

Inkra and Kyōdaina were all out of soldiers because Kirby and his team defeated them all.

"Oh Crap!" roared the two lieutenants with widened eyes.

Back with Star's team, they were fighting Antei as Jackie smiled when she heard that horn. Said lieutenant was fighting off countless soldiers alongside Dedede.

"The War Cries of my people…"

"I beg your pardon?" asked Star.

"My people, many of whom were captured by the Calajengs, probably contacted the King of the Seas about the whole ordeal," replied Jackie, "And now they seek revenge."

Dedede, Bandana Dee, and Reiya looked across the horizon and saw thousands and thousands of merman warriors running. Covering the white sandy beach the team was fighting on.

"So, that's what the sound was…" muttered Reiya.

A merman soldier came up to Star's team and asked them, "You guys must be the crew that freed those mermen from that big nightmare ship, correct?"

"Uh… yeah! That's us," answered Star.

"How did you find us so quickly?" Bandana Dee wondered.

The merman soldier smiled. He puffed up his chest.

"Simple. Many citizens from the seafloor and above heard all the commotions. It would be odd if we didn't notice anything."

Dedede sighed, he could probably learn a thing or two from the Thálassalians. But looking for the longbow Lambent Amulet piece was still out of reach for them.

"UNHAND ME!" howled Antei while being tackled by thousands upon thousands of sea men. She was still fighting despite everything thrown at her. Antei eventually dropped her hammer.

Sooner or later, the Leader of the Permula Lieutenant passed out. Then, some of the Thálassa soldiers handcuffed Antei and put her on a prisoner ship. Another soldier picked up the mallet that Antei dropped.

"You guys will be safe, do you want to meet up at the Capitol?" asked the same merman soldier. "You can meet our leader."

Star's team looked at each other for a minute, and Star asked, "The Capital?" "Leader?"

"Yeah, it's only a few minutes away from here. It's in the city of Lampadi, in the state of Elípda," replied the soldier.

Of course, this was news to everyone.

Meanwhile at the Calajengs' base known as Angkasa; Jinshu, the last of the Permula Lieutenants, had finally healed from her injuries. She still had a limp to her walk, but better than no progress.

A Calajeng soldier came to see her.

"Miss Jinshu, I have received news that you will join Kecutan's training tests with the subjects captured from Popstar."

"I guess that makes sense, what-what?!" snapped Jinshu. "What do you mean there are subjects from Popstar in our base?"

The Calajeng was trained to put their feelings behind, but his legs were shocked at that very moment.

"Apparently, some of your soldiers kidnapped them or formed an alliance with the Calajeng Imperium during your fight on Planet Popstar, something like that…" explained the soldier.

Jinshu just sighed.

"On the bright side, you could learn new techniques to defeat Kirby, Star and the others in no time," continued the soldier.

"Alright, alright, I'm going…" groaned Jinshu, "Just tell me which room it is in."

The warrior looked at his papers closely and stated, "Room ER-23Z, one of the many training rooms, you can't miss it."

And with that, Jinshu walked proudly away. The soldier left out a sigh of relief.

With Kyōdaina and Inkra, the lieutenant duo were fighting off soldiers as well. But they had seen better days. Their fights with Kirby, Meta Knight and Stone Adeleine had left them on their (figurative for Inkra) knees.

Adeleine de-transformed into her human self and was on defense now.

"Call for reinforcement!" snapped Kyōdaina.

"We've got none left!" cried Inkra.

The merman soldiers had tridents and poked with each ounce of strength. The Permula Lieutenants were clearly outnumbered.

Inkra tried to create more soldiers, but the merman warriors; alongside Kirby and his team, destroyed the canvas. Also, Inkra was almost out of ink.

Kyōdaina was doing her best to plant mines and throw bombs, however there were too many soldiers and not enough time. When an idea struck her, a pathetic one. But, something was better than their current situation.

"Okay, we surrender! Happy?" growled Kyōdaina.

"Kyōdaina, what are you doing?" asked Inkra.

The android just smirked for a split second at her comrade. The ink fighter's eyes widened as she knew Kyōdaina had a plan.

Soon, the two Permula Lieutenants were handcuffed and placed in a different ship from Antei. Well, Inkra had her hair in cuffs, so she wouldn't do anything reckless.

One of the soldiers sighed and turned her attention to Kirby and his team, "Are you guys alright?"

"Yeah, thanks for the assist," Marco stated. "That… was a lot."

"I'll say," remarked Ribbon as she flew by Marco, "But we got our items back, so thank you guys for that."

Kirby, Meta Knight and Adeleine nodded in agreement. As Kirby got rid of his Sword copy ability.

"Would you guys like to go to the capital of Lampadi to meet our king? I've got reports that Star and her group had decided to join us," replied the merwoman.

"Wait, Star?" asked Marco.

"We can join," answered Kirby, "It will be nice to meet some new friends."

"More importantly," Meta Knight added, "It will be a chance to clear up anything."

The merwoman clasped her hands, "Yes, thank you."

Sooner or later, the ten travelers reunited.

They greeted each other with hugs and hi-fives.

"It's nice to see everyone again," Dedede beamed.

"You act like we were gone for days," smirked Ribbon.

Everyone except Meta Knight laughed.

Reiya cleared her throat, and said, "I think it would be best if we got on the boat, I'm sure the Thálassalians are waiting for us."

The team nodded, then decided to go onboard to the capital of Thálassa. Maybe the king could help with finding the longbow Lambent Amulet piece…

The ship was large and painted in blue and white colors, it was not as large as The Steel of Dreams. Simply because they had a much smaller budget.

Everyone was having a good time, however Reiya still had a burning question to ask Star Butterfly. She walked towards the princess.

"Hey Star…" muttered Reiya.

"Oh! Hey there, Reiya!" smiled Star.

"You know I wondered why you didn't time stop Jinshu back on Megastar?"

"Uh-Huh…"

"I…a lot has happened during that time and with all the spells you can do, you probably didn't think of it. I won't hold it against you."

The ship's horn blew loudly, breaking the conversation.

Star blinked a couple of times, then said, "Well, I was told not to use that spell by Father Time. Sooo, I used a compression version of it on Planet Popstar." "I didn't know if it would work to be honest."

"Wait, you've met Father Time?" asked Reiya.

"Um…yeah," replied Star. Reiya then recomposed herself, "So, a gamble, right?"

"Right, and plus, we will use the Lambent Amulets to wish Megastar and its residents back!"

Reiya just sighed, "Yeah, I guess you're right." "I won't bother you about that anymore."

"Nah. You're good, don't worry about it dear Reiya."

All of a sudden, Marco walked up to the teenage girls.

"So, um, what were you guys talking about?" asked Marco nervously.

"Just Star and her time spells," replied Reiya. "You good, Marco? You look like you've seen a ghost."

Marco snapped back into reality, "Yeah, I'm good." He then pointed towards his crush. "Jackie just told Kirby, the rest of our group and I that her father is the King of Thálassa, making her royalty."

Star and Reiya's eyes widened, "Wait, what?!"

"When were you going to tell us?!" asked Reiya.

"Well… I was, but the Permula Lieutenants came out of nowhere and attacked you guys," replied Jackie.

"Ooh! We can be royalty buddies!" Star smiled.

Jackie just chuckled nervously as Marco rolled his eyes, but he did smile.

The group of ten, the Thálassalians, and the prisoners made it to the capital known as Lampadi. There were many buildings on these islands. They looked similar to skyscrapers from Earth.

Said structures had large, square glass windows. And in the middle of all of that, was a blue and white castle. The Permula Lieutenants were moved from their cells at the bottom of the ship..

"Well guys, welcome to Lampadi!" Jackie exclaimed with open arms.

"Wooow!" started Kirby and Star, almost in union.

The reminding Thálassalians clapped and cheered. Then they lead the way to the castle with Jackie in charge.

Kirby and Star's blue eyes were glued to everything that surrounded them. Dedede and Meta Knight were curious as well, but kept it to themselves. Marco and Bandana Dee were talking with one another as well as taking a look, so did Adeleine and Ribbon.

"Make way for the princess and her friends!" boomed a Thálassalian soldier, as brass instruments were blown by courts men on the side. The citizens cheered as Jackie and the others made their way through.

'And I thought Dedede was extra in the celebrations…' thought Meta Knight, his Dimensional Cape wrapped around him.

The brass instruments then stopped.

Jackie cleared her throat, "Father, I have returned…"

The King of Thálassa was the tallest sea creature anyone in the group had ever seen. He had light blonde hair, similar skin complex as Jackie with green eyes and a beard. He sat on a throne. He was very muscular and had an equally large trident. His name is Capian the Great.

"So I see," boomed King Capian. "I'm sure that everything went as planned, yes?"

"Well, I was captured, but Kirby, Star and everyone helped me and countless citizens escaped unharmed," stated Jackie.

King Capian was lost for words, these strangers helped his people in their time of need. He was too busy making laws for the future.

"How dare they kidnap my daughter and my people?!" snapped Capian. "Death should fit the crime!"

Jackie sweated, then spoke, "I believe that the Permula Lieutenants should learn within their jail cells."

Capian sighed, and calmed down.

"So, who are your friends?" asked Capian.

Jackie smiled.

Jackie started. "There's Kirby, Princess Star Butterfly of Mewni, King Dedede of…"

"I'm the Great King of Dream Land." boasted Dedede with a smile.

"Right, I apologize…" stated Jackie.

"That's alright," replied Dedede.

"Then there's Marco Diaz of Earth, Meta Knight, Bandana Dee, Reiya, Adeleine and finally Ribbon!" Jackie said. "This is the group that helped our people."

Capian chuckled. He then stood up from his throne, and clapped his hands.

"That's very good, Jackie, I'm glad that you had friends to help you in these times," boomed The Sea King.

"Thank you Father…" Jackie said with a sigh. "I'm forever grateful."

All of a sudden, Meta Knight stepped forward.

"I hate to break this touching reunion, but we were wondering if you or someone you know have seen the longbow piece of the Lambent Amulet?" asked the blue knight. "Our tracker said it was on this very planet."

Capian's eyes widened.

"In all my years of being king, I never thought I would hear the Lambent Amulet again," stated The Merman King. "But, I have not kept track of it due to the many wars we have had in the past decade." "It's possible that it had moved…" "I just wish that my people didn't always have to fight."

Everyone was moved back, except Kirby and Star as they tilted their heads.

The Merman King continued, "It is in our best efforts to recover as soon as possible, why do you want to have the Lambent Amulet piece?"

"To restore life on Reiya's home planet!" exclaimed Star.

"I see, then let's not waste anymore time…" said Capian, "Guards, search for the Lambent Amulet longbow piece, it's surely at the bottom of the planet!"

"Yes, Your Majesty!" saluted the guards and went on their way before...

"WAIT!" shouted Star.

Everyone turned towards the blonde princess, confused.

"What's up, Star?" asked Marco.

"I have my Handy Dandy Tracking Device for Lambent Amulets, we should use it!" Star responded.

"Interesting…" said Capian.

"I've almost forgotten about that…" Reiya stated.

Kirby and the others nodded a couple of times, then everyone went on their merry ways to find the first Lambent Amulet piece.

At one of the Prisoners' bases where many criminals were held. The Permula Lieutenants were placed in a tight cell, until things were figured out.

"Great, how was this a part of your amazing plan?" whispered Inkra.

"Wait and see," hissed Kyōdaina, "For now, let's hope Antei wakes up sometime soon…"

"I hope for your sake, you are correct," Inkra whispered back.

The Lieutenants had a good look at the place. The walls were slightly dirty and damaged, probably due to many fights within these cells. They also saw different prisoners of shapes and sizes from all across the planet. Their eyes were dull and their mouths frowned.

Inkra saw a poster that said, "By the Trident, we will fight!" Also on the poster there was Capian pointing towards the skies. Then, in small fronting, it said, "This is the motto of Sea Men."

"Huh…" muttered Inkra, "And here I thought they were complete savages…"

The feminine android just sighed, and lowered her head. She could never understand what was going on in Inkra's head at times.

"Oh, they are. If you could ever forget about their treatment towards us a few moments back…" hissed Kyōdaina.

"Yeah, yeah," Inkra stated.

Then, Antei got up from her slumber. She felt like her bones were about to break as she rises from the dusty floor.

"Huh?! Where are we-"

"SSHHH!" shushed a guardsman. This caught Antei by surprise.

"Oh. You're finally awake," said Kyōdaina, "We got captured by the sea people, but I have a plan."

"Really? Let's hear it…" Antei smirked.

Back on Angkasa, Jinshu wasted no time in getting to her destination. She saw familiar faces like two of the Battle Maids, Cahaya and Menyuaki. Also, she saw some of her soldiers that had recovered from Kirby, Star and the others' attacks.

"Yo…Kecutan, I'm here for the training regimen," casually stated Jinshu.

She was greeted by glares by Kracko, Mr. Shine, Mr. Bright and the mid-boss squad.

"That's no way to treat one of the Permula Lieutenants," snorted Kecutan. "The very one that led you to us."

Jinshu beamed from side to side.

"Exactly," remarked Jinshu, "With Kecutan at the helm, we will all be strong enough to crush our opponents!"

"I feel more tired than strong," whined Mr. Frosty.

"That's because training is over for you all. For today," stated Kecutan. "Now this merry soldier will take you to your resting chambers."

A soldier then walked by the black-haired Battle Maid, "Come on, everyone. I will be your guide," he said.

"Alright, alright, we're coming," growled Bonkers.

And with that, the cloud, the self-proclaimed sun and moon, and the mid-bosses made their way out of the training room. Leaving Kecutan and Jinshu alone.

Silence choked the air for a good minute or two, until Jinshu spoke up.

"So, where do we begin?" asked Jinshu.

"Simple, your warm up is 100 push ups, 100 sit ups, and a run around the base," answered Kecutan.

"Ha! I'll be done within a flash."

"Good, now go!"

Jinshu took a while to build up speed, due to her limp, she was at her normal speed within no time. She could feel herself go faster and faster.

'I'll show the Emperor that I'm just as strong as the others!' Jinshu thought to herself as she went up and down the stairs of Angkasa.

Back on Thálassa, King Capian was leading a crew of his men to find the longbow piece of the Lambent Amulet. With them were Kirby, Star and their respective team. The Sea King had a submarine ready for them. Said submarine was larger than Marco had ever seen, it was mostly due to the King's gigantic height. However, the sea men were larger than the average human as well.

Star was holding the Handy Dandy Tracking Device in front of her as she walked onboard.

"It still says it's at the bottom of the planet," explained Star.

"So, nothing has changed, huh?" said Dedede.

"Nope…"

The Sea King hoped that these travelers would be safe on their journey. Collecting the Lambent Amulets was no easy feat.

But, then it all happened at once.

"Your Majesty!" shouted a Thálassalian guard, "I've got bad news…"

"What is it?" asked Capian.

"The Permula Lieutenants and many of the prisoners had escaped!"

"WHAT?!" exclaimed the ten travelers and Capian.

Author's Notes

That will do it for this chapter of Kirby and Star: Charring Amulet. I appreciate you guys staying with me, I really do. As with my other stories. I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did writing it.

I apologize again for not posting as often, but I'm sure you all get the deal by now.

Anyway, here are the Ability blurbs I promised earlier:

About Stone Kirby.

This is another classic ability for The Pink Demon since his second adventure like Fire beforehand. He's completely invisible when he transforms. He'll never transform in the same form twice! He even has an uppercut move to get enemies off of him. Who knows what this hero will transform into next?

About Sword Kirby.

Another classic ability for Kirby of the Stars. He looks rather familiar if I do say so myself…

The unrivaled King of Weapons needs no introduction as with its power, what can't he do?

He can cut grass and ropes, let out a Sword Beam and swing at the speed of sound! Truly a nasty combo…

Anyway, there is some etymology you guys might want to know:

Capian- A pun on Caspian, based on the salty, large lake that separated Asia and Europe.

I hope I see you guys in the next chapter! Take care!
