The scene showed Pogo training the Sparrows in 2014, Jayme fighting Ben, using their powers, Ben binding Jayme, snapping bones, the rest of the Sparrows begging Ben to release her or Jayme to submit, until Jayme stabbed Ben with a shard of wood and claimed victory. Reginald applauded the win before Pogo and Reginald argued about the methods Reginald was demanding.
"Seems you're not as great as you think you are." Klaus tittered as Ben glared at him.
"She cheated! Besides, I got my revenge eventually." Ben smirked.
"Yeah, he's not exactly a caring father." Diego snarled.
"They're not ready, it'll be suicide if you send them to the other side now."
"The other side?" Five asked as Reginald ignored him.
"You've become so attached you've lost your objectivity."
"You've become so detached you've lost your humanity."
"What humanity?"
"Well it tracks. Now we know he's a fucking alien!" Klaus said. "I feel like we've all just glossed over this, yes?"
"Sorry, he's what?" Ben blinked.
"Oh yeah, an alien. Squid thing I think." Klaus said as Ben looked stunned.
"It's something we'll get back to eventually." Five stated. "Let's just finish all of these recordings first before we process that."
Reginald then fired Pogo, telling him to be gone within the hour.
As Reginald walked out of the goodbye, the Sparrows genuinely sad to see Pogo leaving, he handed Marcus a box filled with pills, the look they shared showing Pogo and Marcus had planned to drug Reginald up before.
"So you did plan to get Reginald out of the way!" Diego startled.
"He's a criminal and wanted us all dead. It's best we take care of him and run the show ourselves. You Umbrella's should do it with this one." Ben jerked his head at Reginald, who looked scandalised.
Five told Pogo about their past meeting and saying he needed to talk to him, as Pogo hurried to escape, leaving Five with the biker gang, Five flashed out to find Pogo escaping on a motorbike, jumping onto another one, Five stole the bike and gave chase.
"Where did you learn to ride a motorcycle, Five?" Diego asked.
"Forget that, where did Pogo learn to ride?" Klaus laughed.
In the Academy, the Kugelblitz got even bigger as it sent out another shock wave, as it cut to Alison and Harlan, discussing what he was listening too, he said Alison sounded wrong as Viktor arrived, asking if the two were alright. Alison told Viktor he had until that night to get the powers from Harlan or they were going with the hand him over plan. Viktor agreed and helped Harlan up.
"I guess we'll see how I can get them out of Harlan for good this time." Viktor pondered, wondering himself how he could do it if he failed last time.
In the hotel, Lila was looking for Stan, unable to find him, she woke Diego up and worried if he had been Kugelblitzed.
"God I really hope not. It'll destroy other me." Diego worried.
At the Sparrows, Luther was greeted by Sloane with breakfast after another night together, they discussed how Luther wasn't sure he had his family even anymore, just shared childhood trauma with them, as Fei knocked on the door, revealing the Sparrows knew all night that Luther was there as Sloane's bed squeaks, and that Ben wants a word with him.
"Busted." Klaus crowed as Luther flushed. Alison looked angry but said nothing, still ashamed of her alters behaviour. Viktor noticed Alison cast a glance down and looked over in worry, before turning back to the screen again.
In the hotel, Diego and Lila looked for Stan, seeing the open portrait hole, they walked down the flashing light tunnel to try find Stan, coming out, they saw they were back in the suite but the portraits were different, the bull was now the back of its body and everything else seemed uncanny. Lila said she was officially freaked out and that was hard for her to be.
"Where are we?" Diego asked.
"I've no idea, but a secret passage in a hotel Dad owns? No way it's a good place for you." Five remarked.
"I have no idea what this is." Reginald spoke up, the rest casting disbelieving looks at him as they turned back, Reginald sent a sharp look at Pogo before he could open his mouth.
At the drive in, Harlan tried to channel his powers into Viktor, telling Viktor to listen to the energy of all living things, deeper than even the sound of the wind, as they struggled, Alison forced her way into their shared energy bubble, using her powers to scream at Harlan to stop. She asked why Viktor was forcing themselves to do this, that it was almost killing them, before Viktor said Alison could leave if she wished. Alison said she had nowhere else to go but wasn't watching Viktor kill themselves.
"I'm sorry, Viktor, I know I should let the two of you do this." Alison said as Viktor held up his hand.
"No, you care for me, you're worried I'll get hurt, I get it." Viktor gave him a small smile, the smile he got in return he felt could have lit up the world.
At the Sparrows, Luther and Ben sat in the main hall, as Ben asked what was with their fetish with him, Luther said their Ben was the best of them, after they lost him in the Jennifer incident, it was never the same again for the Umbrellas. Ben said he wasn't their brother. Luther said he was in a way, that their Ben was inside this Ben, the same kindness, selflessness. Ben said he didn't need another brother telling him what to do, but the team might, having Grace bring in a box with a Sparrow suit for Luther, inviting him to join the Sparrow Academy. Ben said he'd rather have Luther with them then against them, Luther tried to insist he was an Umbrella as Sloane asked if he really was. Fei asked Ben what he was doing, Ben just gave a cryptic reply and left.
"Really? You're offering him a spot with your team, why? To weaken us?" Diego growled at Ben.
"We need new blood. Clearly he gets along better with us than with you guys. We want to merge the families, you're in our timeline, why not all join the Sparrow Academy? It'll do you alot better than the Umbrella Academy ever did, clearly." Ben told them.
Five rode his bike into a trailer park, seeing Pogo living in a caravan with a woman. He squared with her before Pogo told her to let Five in. Five sat as Pogo held a pistol to him under the table, asking if he was dumb or desperate. Five showed him the tattoo, explaining Pogo had yet to do it, that he cut it from his future self and needed the understanding to help save the universe. Pogo said desperate and revealed stuff he had taken from Reginald, how he had believed this sigil to have magical powers. Five said Reginald believed in science, not magic. Pogo said that these sigils were named Project Oblivion by Reginald. Five recalled Old Five mutter Oblivion before he died. He told Pogo he needed to know everything.
"Pogo you minx, shacking up out of wedlock." Klaus wiggled his eyebrows.
"I'll remind you, Master Klaus, that is not me on the screen, merely an alter." Pogo sighed.
"I mean I'm right, I respected that at least about you old man, you're a rational, science driven man." Five admitted.
"Magic is nothing but superstitious mumbo jumbo." Reginald said aloud, whilst internally cursing Pogo for giving away his secrets like this.
"Wait, the old crackpot was right?" Diego asked, seeing the flashback to the dying old Five.
"I'm always right." Five told him. "Even cranky old me."
Back at the Sparrows, Reginald watched television as Klaus came back to see him, Reginald told Klaus he wasn't his father as Klaus said he decided to get to know his old man before the world ended. Klaus remarked this Reginald was nicer, the other was a complete asshat, before telling him about his meetings with God or the Devil, whichever the little girl was, how he had died in the White Buffalo Suite and how he felt he had a purpose he didn't know. Reginald told him to sit and tell him everything.
"Klaus, don't help him, you don't know what he's capable of." Ben warned him sharply.
"No can do, you can't keep him drugged up against his will, he needs to be off of them." Klaus argued.
"In this case, I'd listen to him." Five told Klaus. "We clearly don't know all of his plans, and if he wants you to tell him everything, he's got plans within plans about this."
At Oblivion, Diego and Lila searched for Stan, Diego about to ring the lobby bell, when Lila stopped him, saying the sign said not to ring it. She then said Trudy was gonna kill her, Diego asked who Trudy was, before Lila admitted she was Stan's mother and that he wasn't hers or Diego's kid.
"How can you read that?" Luther asked.
"Commission training, I can read it too." Five told him.
"WHAT DOES SHE MEAN, STAN ISN'T MY SON?!" Diego roared.
"I'm sorry man." Luther said, putting a hand on Diego's shoulder. "I guess she was messing with you."
"But why?" Diego asked, voice cracking. "I...I..."
With Reginald, Klaus discussed his death experiences, as he asked Reginald if he was listening. Reginald said he was, it was all fascinating, since Klaus got him off the pills, he wanted to return the favour and help Klaus discover his purpose and the true extent of his powers, as Klaus agreed to be trained by him again, they hugged as Reginald slapped a device onto Klaus, saying part one of the healing was experimenting, electrocuting Klaus until he dropped dead on the floor. Reginald marvelled at it.
"I'm really not sure this is a good idea, Klaus." Five said as Klaus waved him away.
"It'll be fine, the old man will teach me and we get to bond, it'll be great!"
"You were saying?" Five asked as they watched Klaus drop dead to the floor.
"At least we know he won't stay dead?" Luther suggested.
"Still, letting Dad kill you over and over doesn't sound like a good time to me." Diego said as Klaus shuddered.
At the caravan, Pogo and Five discussed how it was a suicide mission was Oblivion, he gave the Sparrows the drugs to keep Reginald sedated so it wouldn't activate and they'd be safe. Five said how Klaus just got Reginald sober again, Pogo said Oblivion was starting again then and the Umbrellas and Sparrows would all be in great danger. Five said he'd have to get the tattoo now to complete the loop, sitting back as Pogo began to ink him.
"Well I guess we've got no choice but to join forces to stop whatever insane plan Dad has in that alter hotel. Because I'm going to guess that's Oblivion." Five groaned.
"Just drug him up and never let the junkie get him clean, simple." Ben told them as they all glared at him for insulting Klaus.
"Five with a tattoo, can't wait to see it on you." Klaus smirked as Five narrowed his eyes at him.
"Oh I'm never getting that ink." Five assured him.
Harlan told Viktor how he harnessed hearing sounds he could not hear, how bees use negative charges to find flowers, that they had to be like that, seeking out what was invisible to them by comparing sound waves. At the swings, Alison hallucinated Ray speaking to her about playgrounds, saying how Alison always looked away whenever she drove past one with him. Ray said he'd have gotten along fine with Claire if he knew her. Ray told Alison to promise him she'd do what it takes to survive, as long as she lived, both he and Claire lived on in her mind and her heart.
"That's actually kind of sweet, just a shame it'll probably drive Alison even angrier when she learns what Harlan did." Klaus reasoned.
"Why would she find out if I don't tell?" Viktor asked.
"We all always find out the secrets eventually, these things have shown that." Klaus shook his head. "We're a loveable mess, all of us."
Looking over, Alison saw Viktor and Harlan off the ground and glowing, as the energy beams soared between them, they dropped to the ground, blasting Alison back. Alison rushed over to check Viktor was ok, as the two got up, Harlan remarked how the powers were gone, Viktor had taken them all back.
"You did it Viktor!" The Umbrellas congratulated him as Viktor blushed and stammered out a thanks. Maybe he could use that advice to train once they left here and dealt with Leonard.
Lila explained how Stanley wasn't adopted, he was her friends son she had borrowed for a week as a test to see if Diego could make a good father and that Stan was in on the con all along. Diego seemed close to having a break down as he stalked off, looking for Stan, as Lila remarked they should stay in one place in case Stan wandered by, but he was capable of looking after himself.
"Why would she do this to me?" Diego asked, sounding heartbroken.
"Is he really this dense?" Five asked as the others looked bewildered, wondering what Five meant himself.
Harlan told Alison that Viktor was exhausted and sleeping, as Alison said now Harlan was to go home as they fixed the mess Harlan caused. Harlan said he knew Alison didn't like him for what he did to her, she asked what he meant, as he said he thought Viktor had told them. Harlan had killed their mothers by accident, unable to control his powers, angering Alison who found out he was the reason Claire was dead and that Viktor knew about it.
"Well, there we go, there goes any chance of a happy, peaceful family adventure finally happening." Klaus shook his head.
"Viktor should have told us all to begin with." Diego argued.
"I should have, and alter me was an idiot for not doing so." Viktor agreed. "Not talking is what's really messed us all up. We really need to talk more as a family."
Diego decided they needed help to find Stan, pressing the bell at the lobby before Lila could stop him. Suddenly the power went out, a noise could be heard and footsteps approached, loudly, banging, the two turned back to back, Diego took out his knives as a blade on a chain came flying out of the darkness, removing two of his fingers. In shock, the two ran, back into the Obsidian Hotel, holding the portal door closed as the figure tried to break in, before giving up and retreating. Turning, they saw Stan stood there, with food and drink in his hand, asking what was going on. Another shock wave rocked the hotel as Stan was Kugelblitzed before their eyes.
"What's going on?" Diego asked.
"Clearly Dad had something going on at this place, I'm gonna assume that this it is!" Five said as they watched Diego lose two fingers.
"Diego!" Luther cried out.
"Hey big guy, I'm fine, I won't be doing something this stupid this time, don't worry." Diego assured him as they saw the two escape and Stan standing behind them. Diego let out a sigh of relief before his face turned to horror, seeing Stan vanish.
"H-He's gone." Diego stammered. "W-Where did it take h-h-him?"
"I'm sorry Diego, I know he wasn't your son, but he's gone." Five sadly confirmed.
Arriving back, Alison opened the boot to the trunk, Harlan's dead body inside, as Ben and Fei looked happy. Ben nodded to Reginald who went in, Alison entered the Sparrow Academy, scoffing at Luther in their suit who looked horrified at what she had done as the screen w e nt black.
"What the hell, Alison?!" Viktor rounded on her, fury on his face. "He was powerless again! He was going to go away and be safe! It was an accident!"
"I-I'm sorry!" Alison cried, she didn't know what her alternate self was doing, she was clearly going further and further off the rails with every moment it seemed.
Viktor glared at her and turned away, as Alison felt her heart clenching.
"How could you?" Luther whispered. This woman wasn't the Alison he'd fallen in love with, how could she be? How could he possibly stay with her, if she had this potential within her?
