2 nights later
A guard walked up to Link's prison cell and threw some bread and a small bottle of water into his cell. Link gave him an angry look. The guard: You better eat it. You wont get any more for another couple days wahahahaha! The guard took a heavy hit from the back of a spear to the head. The blow knocked the guards helmet off and he fell to the ground. Link was stunned and completely clueless as to who could be helping him. The guard delivered a fatal blow to the guard laying on the ground then unlocked the prison door and said: Quickly! Follow me! Link paused for a moment in confusion. The guard: Or take your chances in here! Do you know what I had to go through just to pull this off!? Come on! Lets go! Link got up and followed the guard out of the prison. The guard brought him down a dark hallway with water flowing across the ground only a couple inches deep. Link thought to himself: This leads to the observatory if I remember correctly. Surely enough, that's exactly where they showed up. Link followed the guard up the blue winding staircase and at the top they saw the astronomer. The astronomer: Good! You got him! The guard: You're probably wondering why I saved you and who I am? Link nodded his head. The guard took his helmet off and Link gasped. It was the adult Kafie! Kafie: You helped me and Anju when we needed it the most and I'll never forget it! I could be killed for doing this...Unfortunately I am working with the guards of clock town. Seeing your heroism inspired me to become a guard and become a hero myself but now all the guards and my father to, have become corrupt because of the 4 evil ones that now rule all of Termina. They have banned all weapons except for the guards that are all under his control and we think they have some kind of sinister plan but most people in Termina can't see it because their dark magic placed a powerful curse and brainwashed almost everybody to follow them and most of them wont even remember you. The Astronomer: Yes but we remember you because we formed a bond with you that was too powerful for dark magic to break! Kafie: And we're willing to bet not everybody has forgotten you. Others out there that you helped even if it meant risking your life for them, they will most likely remember you as well! The astronomer: I think more guards are on their way! Kafie: I need to head back now before they see the body. I'll have to tell them Link killed the guard and escaped...The astronomer: Go now, Kafie! Kafie put his helm back on and took off running back towards the jail. The astronomer pulled a big heavy carpet out of the way and revealed the entrance to a hidden grotto. Link nodded at him then jumped into the darkness. The astronomer covered the entrance back up as Kafie went back to confront the guards. Link landed on some soft grass and saw a small but wide open room with a treasure chest sitting in the middle. He walked up and saw a letter sitting on top of it. The letter read: We're glad you have returned, hero. We had heard about it but thought it was possibly just a rumor. We prepared for your return just in case. Bad news for you is the 4 evil ones banned anybody other than the guards from having any weapons. The guards are all brain washed except for Kafie. So finding weapons is almost impossible now. Even Deku nuts and Deku sticks are very difficult to find. The contents of this treasure chest may not be what you're hoping for but it's the best we could come up with considering how things are now...Link obtained the Super Deku stick and Deku flint. The Deku stick was re-forged with steel so it would take several swings to break it and the Deku flint was compacted with several Deku nuts so with the scrape of a small rock, it could blind someone and be used multiple times. A white glowing light came down from the top of the grotto. Link walked over to it and the light covered him and lifted him up off of the ground. Link appeared in Termina field right in front of the South-West entrance. Link Looked towards the path leading towards the Gorman brothers track, Grog's cucco ranch and Romani ranch. He remembered how Kafie told him others he shared a bond with would possibly remember him. Link remembered how he saved Cremia and Romani from the Gorman brothers and how Cremia gave Link a big hug and it made him feel warm and fuzzy! inside! It brought a big smile to his face. He also remembered one failed timeline when the ghosts abducted Romani and the cows. Romani was pretty much a zombie and Cremia became depressed and blamed herself for not listening to her sister. Link felt sick when he thought about how sad Cremia looked that day. Link quickly ran towards the south west area. Moments later, Link had passed the Gorman brothers track and then shortly after, Grog's cucco ranch. Link could see the entrance to Romani ranch in the distance. Link was very happy to see there was no massive boulder in the way. He ran even faster as he got closer. He entered the ranch moments later and smiled as he saw Cremia and Romani in the distance. All of a sudden, his facial expression turned quickly and he felt sick to his stomach. The Gorman brothers were in front of Cremia and Romani. With them, 2 guards. Link remembered how hard it was taking on 4 guards when he had all of his gear. Having 10 hearts and now only 3, he was no match for 2 guards or probably even 1 at the time. Link quickly ran over to some thick bushes and slowly got closer while being very careful not to be spotted. Link finally got close enough to hear the 5 of them talking.
