Link was having a nightmare about his goron mask being misused and beating him half to death. He woke up in cold sweats and looked down and saw he was all bandaged up. Tatl and Tael flew towards him. Tael: Are you alright Link? Link slowly nodded but was thinking about how usually his dreams come true ever since he first dreamed about Ganondorf taking over Hyrule. Link finally caught his breath then lay back down and fell asleep.
Morning came and Link got out of bed. He removed his bandages as he was nearly fully healed. He went downstairs and saw Cremia in the kitchen. Tael: Good morning! Cremia: Good morning! I made you breakfast Link! How are you feeling? Any better? Link nodded then sat down and started eating some eggs. Tatl: Where is everyone? Cremia: Kafie and Shiro got up early to fix the milk cart and bring it back here then Kafie and Anju went to town to make sure everything is going well now that the guards are gone. Shiro took off to go check something out in the east province and Romani is outside practicing with her bow and arrows. Cremia: Link...I want to apologize for the other day...I was hard on you and Romani. Anju talked to me and told me she thinks the ghosts are real...It's a hard thing to believe but I should really have listened to Romani. I should also know that if you believed her than that should have been enough to convince me as well. She walked in behind the chair Link was sitting on and gave him a hug. Cremia: I'm sorry Link...After a few seconds passed, Cremia backed up a couple feet, Link stood up and faced Cremia and she asked: are you going somewhere now? Link nodded at her. Cremia: Okay, please come back safely! Link walked out the door followed by Tatl and Tael. Romani shot 3 arrows and burst 3 balloons all at once. She looked over at Link and said: Be safe, Grasshopper! Link took off running towards the entrance of the ranch.
Later that day
Link had approached the north entrance and was happy to see there was no giant wall of ice blocking the way. He quickly ran towards the top of the mountain.
Meanwhile, in the East province
Shiro had passed the East entrance and made it to the small dead tree that stuck out of the ground on the platform way above the ground. There was now a long rope attached to the tree for people to climb up to get to Ikana. Shiro climbed up the rope and an hour later, reached the river flowing through the lower section of Ikana. Shiro gasped and held his hand next to his chest in a fist as his whole body started shaking. He saw a massive wall of dark energy just past the river. Shiro: I need to tell Link!
Back in the North province
Link had finally made it to the Goron village. He saw 2 gorons rolling from a distance towards their home. He quickly ran and hid in behind the wall. The gorons did the ground pound and the door opened. They rolled in and Link quickly ran behind them just as the door was closing. Link stayed in the distance and watched as the 2 gorons rolled towards the ground level where the rest of them were. One of the Gorons: I have brought home a large amount of food for all of us to show my appreciation for the great Darmani and everything he's done for us ever since the great fairy revived him! Tatl: No one has even seen any of the great fairies since the 4 new rulers took over...And did he say Darmani? Seconds later Darmani walked out into the open and raised his arms up as everyone cheered for him. Link gasped. Tatl: There's your Goron mask! Link watched Darmani talk with the gorons for another half hour then finally Darmani told everyone he had to go check something out further up north. Link kept out of sight and followed Darmani out of the village as the door closed behind him. Link had been running after Darmani for only a moment before Darmani made it out of sight. Link couldn't catch up with him because he didn't have his Goron mask or even the bunny hood as he traded all of his masks in for the Fierce Deity mask which he also no longer had. The only mask he had at the moment was the mask of truth which he got from the wood fall temple. Hours later Link, Tatl and Tael made it to the entrance leading to the last area before the snowhead temple. Link ran up towards the huge gaps that he would normally make the jump with while having his Goron mask on. Link looked down and could only see darkness. He had a concerned look on his face. Tatl: Link, how are you going to get across without your Goron mask? Tael: Hey Link...Tatl: Not now, Tael...Tael: You look...a little bit older all of a sudden...Link and Tatl went quiet for a moment. Tatl: Hey...my brother is right...You look like you've aged a year or two. It's hard to tell until you get a real close look but you look like you're about 15 or 16. Link was silent for a moment then he slowly looked back over to where the giant gap was. He remembered barely being able to make the jump as a Goron the first time he came to Snowhead. He looked up and saw a tree way in the distance just after the 1st landing. Link took out his hookshot and took several steps back. Link ran full speed towards the big bottomless pit and jumped off of the platform.
