Chapter 5: Suspicion Arises
"The Saiyans?" Mamoru asked.
Artemis took a deep breath before he began, "This story starts about roughly 20ish years ago. The Saiyans were a warrior race of fighters, and were feared throughout the universe for their strength. They resided on Planet Vegeta, of which the King and Crown Prince were named after."
The Senshi looked at Artemis with a bit of fear in their eyes. Artemis continued, "An evil tyrant named Lord Frieza wanted to wipe out their race. And he did so, or so we thought, over the past 20 years or so, Luna and myself have felt tremendous power and have been following some of the odd happenings that have been going on."
"Odd happenings? What do you mean Artemis? I thought the enemies we faced were the only threats?" Makoto questioned.
"No, they aren't Makoto," Luna chimed in, "We have observed multiple aliens and other threats come and tremendous power following them. Then there was the Cell Games." Luna and Artemis shivered at that.
Ami looked at the two Lunar Guardians, "The Cell Games?" Usagi questioned and tilted her head.
"A horrible genetic experiment, went crazy and tried to blow up the Earth about 15 years ago. A group of fighters, and one that looked so much like Trunks, fought him. He was eventually defeated, and there was peace on the Earth for a while." Luna explained to the Senshi.
Rei thought for a moment, "If what you are saying is true, then should we not trust Trunks?"
"What I mean Rei," Luna started, "Is that we should be on our guard. I know Trunks seems nice but the Sayians are cruel race of aliens."
Usagi was quiet as the others talked about the Sayians and the possibilities of Trunks being one. 'Trunks seems so kind though, could be really be this monster that Luna and Artemis mentioned? And I know his father's name is Vegeta but that could just be a crazy coincidence.' She thought, 'I mean when he was here he was so helpful and polite, his father did seem standoffish…and I could feel power coming off of him…'
"Luna?" Usagi said quietly.
"Yes, Usagi?"
Usagi was quiet for a moment, "When I met Trunks' parents his father's name is Vegeta and he seemed so standoffish and I could feel power from him but I didn't question it." She started to tear up, "Trunks just seems so kind and he helped me out. Could he be a Saiyan?"
Artemis sighed, "It's a possibility, Usagi. However, there is one thing that Trunks doesn't have that Saiyans are known for."
"And what would that be Artemis?" Mamoru asked.
"A monkey's tail. You see when a Saiyan would look at a full moon they would turn into an Ooruzaro, a Giant Ape. In that form they would lose all control and attack anyone." Artemis explained. "Trunks didn't have one. Usagi did you see a tail on his father?"
Usagi shook his head, "No, I did not. Could it just be a coincidence?"
"Not likely." Luna told them.
The group sat in silence thinking about what Luna and Artemis told them. Usagi met the eyes of her friends, "I have to tell Trunks that I am Sailor Moon at some point right?"
Makoto looked at her, "For a healthy relationship, honesty is need. So probably at some point."

Trunks finished the fight with Freeza, and was sitting in his room. 'This whole arranged marriage thing may not be so bad…Usagi is very beautiful and kind…I have to tell her about me being a Saiyan.'
A knock on his door took him out of his thoughts, "Trunks? Can I come in?" Goten asked.
"Yeah." Goten entered the room, and sat down next to Trunks.
"Usagi seems really sweet, and her friends also seem to really care for her." He said. "I think you two will be happy."
Trunks smiled, "I think so too. And I've been thinking I should tell her that I'm half-Sayian."
Goten nodded in agreement, "You should, just ease into it, it can be overwhelming."
"You're right…and you know if we are going to be married I should probably take her on a proper date."
Smiling, Goten asked, "What kind of date did you have in mind?"
"I'm not sure, maybe dinner? That way we can talk just us and not have to worry about others interrupting us." Trunks suggested, "Did you have an idea?"
"Huh, let me think…" Goten started, "Well for the date part I'm not entirely sure either, never really went on a date. But I do think you should give her flowers or something."
"Like a bouquet of roses?" Trunks asked.
"Yeah! You're right! Oh and I probably look at getting her a ring as well." Trunks said as she stood up, "I'm going to go buy her a ring!" Trunks flew out the window quickly as Goten watched.
"I wonder if I can get a date with Usagi's friend Rei…" He wondered aloud.
—--
Later that evening, Usagi was getting ready for bed as she was brushing out her hair her phone rang. "Hello?" She said as she answered it.
"Hey Usagi, it's me, Trunks."
"Oh hi Trunks," Usagi said, "How was the emergency?"
"It was good, over quickly, but thats not why I called." He stated, "I wanted to see if you'd go on a proper date with me."
"A date?" Usagi questioned.
Trunks laughed lightly, "Yes, a date. I was thinking we could have dinner together and really be able to spend time and talk to get the know each other." He explained, "What do you say?"
A few moments passed before Usagi gave her answer, "Trunks, I would love to go on a date with you. When would you like to?"
"How about 6 tomorrow night? I'll pick you up at the Shrine? Oh and wear something nice, okay Angel?"
"That sounds good. I'll see you then." Usagi said with a smile, "Goodnight Trunks."
"Goodnight, Angel."
Usagi hung up the phone and got her communicator out, and sent a quick message to the Senshi, "I have a date with Trunks tomorrow at 6. He said to wear something nice."
With a smile, Usagi laid down to go to sleep. Luna, who listened to Usagi's conversation with Trunks, looked at her sleeping princess. 'I need to make sure that Trunks will take proper care of her.'
