Episode 13: Fighting Solves Everything!
ll
ll
ll
As Usagi woke up the next day, she felt sore all over her body from the previous day.
ll
ll
As the soreness registered in her mind, she stared up at the roof, letting out a small giggle.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Worth it.
ll
ll
After a few more minutes, Usagi forced herself awake, and got ready for work with the Amazons.
ll
ll
All over the city, everyone slowly woke up, remembering their defeat the previous day, staring at their own ceilings, thinking of ways they could've done better, prevented defeat...
ll
For Ami, she basked in the memory, watching as her Warframe, fearlessly fought a tough battle, and unexpectedly became victorious. As the other girls spoke among themselves, Ami couldn't hear them, as she saw Usagi almost dancing around her Warframe, a being of life and death...
ll
ll
Ami too got up, ready to open her small clinic open.
ll
ll
ll
ll
As Ami opened her clinic/Pharmacy, she couldn't believe how easily people came in. She felt glad to have hired a few of the nurses that wanted to follow her, since they felt that, they too were overworked, with too much stress at the hospital, happy to come work for Ami, seeing as how well she treated them.
ll
ll
ll
Ami stood behind the pharmacy counter while her nurses attended the clinic part.
ll
ll
After a few hours of being open, Ami felt content with the place, seeing as the day was coming to be a success.
ll
ll
Then someone walked in, and headed straight for the pharmacy counter.
ll
ll
(Ami) Oh, hello, how can I help you?
ll
ll
The person took off the hood they hand been wearing to reveal long, brunette hair.
ll
ll
(Ami) Makoto? What a nice surprise.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Yeah, it has been a while.
ll
ll
(Ami) So... what can I do for you, Mako?
ll
ll
(Makoto) Well... I was wondering... if you'd help me ste-
ll
ll
(Ami) No.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Huh? What do ya mean "No"?
ll
ll
(Ami) I already know what you're asking. The answer is no. If you want to try and steal from our friends again then I don't want any part in it.
ll
ll
Makoto reeled back, thinking for a second before staring at Ami with disbelief.
ll
ll
ll
(Makoto) Our... friends...? ... !
ll
(Makoto) You joined them. Didn't you?
ll
ll
(Ami) Yes, I did. I couldn't ignore what was happening anymore. Even got a visit from my past life, calling me a coward and wanted me to make us "...worth the title of "Healer.".
ll
ll
Ami chuckled at the memory.
ll
ll
(Makoto) You're just like the rest of them. Blinded by some fuckin need to defend the Earth. Whatever... I'll go up there and force myself into one of those things, then bring it down here to sell to the highest bidder.
ll
ll
Makoto pulled the hood over her head again as she began walking away.
ll
ll
(Ami) Oh, one more thing.
ll
ll
Makoto walked back to the counter
ll
ll
(Makoto) Yeah?
ll
ll
(Ami) How's the bruising, broken nose and those broken ribs?
ll
ll
Makoto scowled before saying.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Fuck you Mizuno.
ll
ll
Makoto walked out angrily and walked down the street as Ami watched her, watching her as she left the front of the clinic/store.
ll
ll
A few people looked, but paid no mind to Ami and Makoto's interaction.
ll
ll
Ami couldn't help but think as she stood at the counter. Why was Makoto fighting so hard against reuniting to protect the Earth? Why would she still want to sabotage them...? Was there something... keeping her away? Something she was hiding from everyone?
ll
ll
At the Shrine, Rei cleaned around the Shrine, staying outside, as to greet any visitors that may appear.
ll
ll
Rei was sweeping near the main shrine when she heard footsteps walking up the stairs.
ll
ll
(Rei) Oh, good after-... noon...
ll
ll
Rei gripped her broom as she saw Makoto walking up the stairs to the Shrine.
ll
ll
(Rei) Hello... Makoto...
ll
ll
(Makoto) Hey there Rei. How ya doin?
ll
ll
(Rei) I'm doing well. What brings you here today?
ll
ll
Makoto walked towards Rei, her shoes tapping against the stone tiles.
ll
ll
(Makoto) I just wanted to come see my friend. Isn't that reason enough? You should be happy to see me, since I've forgiven you for allowing Usagi to break my face, of course.
ll
ll
(Rei) There wasn't much I could to stop her. She's much more than she used to be. But I wouldn't put all of the blame on her now...
ll
ll
(Makoto) Oh? And why is that?
ll
ll
(Rei) Having lapses in memory now are we? Even though it occurred here at the Shrine?
ll
ll
(Makoto) Sorry, not ringin any bells. Gonna have to do a little more that spout those damn riddles.
ll
ll
(Rei) Watch your tongue! This is a holy place and I will not have you disregard this sacred place with your words.
ll
ll
(Rei) And fine, if these "Riddles" aren't getting through to you, then this will.
ll
ll
(Rei) Me, Haruka and Hotaru... we all saw you fighting Mamoru. And Haruka noticed something. Something only someone knowledgeable in martial arts would know the severity of.
ll
ll
(Makoto) And none of you bothered to stop him!? Good friends you lot are.
ll
ll
(Rei) Well, friends don't usually go around attempting murder now, do they.
ll
ll
The calm tone of Rei's voice mixed with the accusation sent a small chill down Makoto's body as she narrowed her eyes.
ll
ll
ll
(Makoto) Hey... that's a pretty big accusation... wanna explain what that's supposed to mean?
ll
ll
(Rei) Happily. When we saw your fight against Mamoru, before he threw you, we saw that move you pulled. You know, that little stunt you pulled? When you tried to force your palm into the base of Mamoru's neck?
ll
ll
(Rei) Haruka told me and Hotaru that... if Mamoru hadn't been protected, you would've either paralyzed him... or even killed him.
ll
ll
(Makoto) And!? What was I supposed to do, let him kick the shit out of me? He would've killed me if I hadn't tried something!
ll
ll
(Rei) What can I say, you have a knack for angering certain people. I assume you told Mamoru something and he grew angry.
ll
ll
(Rei) What did you expect? For him to fear you and beg for forgiveness?
ll
ll
Rei got close to Makoto, narrowing her eyes as she turned to a serious expression.
ll
ll
(Rei) Had your little stunt succeeded, you might've unleashed a one person extinction event upon us all. Usagi is more powerful than any of us, and id something were to happen to him, that wasn't an accident, then she might just turn around and kill everything that moves... starting with you.
ll
ll
(Makoto) That a threat Hino?
ll
ll
(Rei) It's a warning. Whatever you do, don't anger her of all people. She's changed. And she's stronger, but much more brutal person than we would've ever thought her to be.
ll
ll
Twirling in her foot to walk away, Makoto looked over her shoulder at Rei with a crooked grin.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Aww, Rei are you worried about me, you're too kind. And that little punch a while ago? Please, I'm better prepared now, she'll never know what's coming.
ll
ll
(Rei) And, what does THAT entail?
ll
ll
(Makoto) Sorry, but that's for Usagi to find out.
ll
ll
As Mokoto walked away, Rei thought to herself, seeing as the arrogant one of their group was going to challenge them, once again.
ll
ll
Immediately, Rei called everyone, except for Usagi, to warn them about Makoto's next attempt to steal a Warframe.
ll
ll
Rei specifically added into each call "And whatever you do, DON'T TELL Usagi. She might let loose against her, seeing as to how she's treated her, and even Mamoru."
ll
ll
ll
Everyone understood, and two people volunteered to confront Makoto, Ami and Setsuna.
ll
ll
Later, Ami and Setsuna went to the Moon, ready to fight Makoto. But she seemed to be taking her time.
ll
ll
Setsuna/Gara and Ami/Trinity waited at the gates of the Throne Room, waiting for her to appear.
ll
ll
On Earth, there was a knock at the door.
ll
ll
Seeing the late hour and Usagi was the only one awake, in the garage. She stopped working and went to the door, curious to see who it was.
ll
ll
Usagi opened the door.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Um.. hello?-
ll
ll
Usagi stopped and stared as she heard the metallic click of a pistol.
ll
ll
Usagi looked, seeing the shiny metallic weapon pointed directly at her chest.
ll
ll
Shingo came down the stairs, none the wiser as he went into the kitchen
ll
ll
(Shingo) Who is it Usagi?
ll
ll
Trying to sound as calm as possible, Usagi faked her normal tone. Looking over her shoulder at Shingo with a fake smile.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Oh, just an old friend. I'm gonna head outside to talk to them, okay?
ll
ll
(Shingo) Um... okay.
ll
Usagi sighed mentally as Shingo left the kitchen and walked back to his room.
ll
ll
Usagi calmly walked outside, closing the door behind her, at the while the gun still pointed at her.
ll
ll
(Usagi) What the hell do you-
ll
ll
Makoto hit Usagi in the forehead with the barrel of the pistol hard, causing Usagi to cover the spot with her hand.
ll
ll
(Makoto) You know what I want. I tried taking it by force buuut... you know how well that went.
ll
ll
(Usagi) And now what? You want me to just give it to you?
ll
ll
(Makoto) Oh, you've gotten smarter since we disbanded! Rei was right! You're much different since we disbanded.
ll
ll
(Usagi) You talked to Rei? When!?
ll
ll
Makoto tapped the pistol against Usagi's head. It began to rain quietly
ll
ll
(Makoto) Usagi... less questions. Now, let's get going.
ll
ll
Makoto transformed into her Sailor Form.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Huh, haven't seen that in a while.
ll
ll
Usagi transformed into her own Sailor Form, a feeling of wrongness plagued over her, seeing the lie she once believed, covering her skin once again.
ll
ll
The two flew straight into the sky, flying high above the city skyline and through the clouds as their colors, gold, and green, trailed behind them as energy.
ll
ll
The two flew for a couple hours flying faster and faster in the vacuum of space. Propelled by a force that Usagi thought she understood until now.
ll
ll
As the two touched down on the surface of the Moon, Makoto still held the gun at Usagi's back, aiming near the base of her neck as Usagi lead them towards the Throne room.
ll
ll
Through silent halls, the two walked.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Why do you even want a Warframe?
ll
ll
(Makoto) That's none of your business. Now, if you want to continue living, then stay quiet, and keep walking.
ll
ll
As the two walked, the sound of glass echoed down the hall, but the two didn't stop.
ll
ll
When the two walked out into the open Throne Room, Usagi summoned Garuda and jumped away quickly before Makoto could shoot her.
ll
ll
As Makoto prepared to shoot Garuda, a large glass wall formed around Makoto, trapping her inside.
ll
ll
(Makoto) What the-
ll
ll
Makoto angrily shot at the glass twice, but it did not break.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Bulletproof glass...? Since when did they...
ll
ll
Usagi landed in front of Makoto, on the other side of the glass.
ll
ll
(Makoto) YOU! Get me out of here, NOW!
ll
ll
(Usagi) No Makoto, I won't be doing that, neither will they.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Who are you...
ll
ll
ll
From behind the pillars of the room, everyone revealed themselves in their Warframes, appearing next to them, glaring at Makoto.
ll
ll
Makoto just laughed at everyone.
ll
(Makoto) Wow! Isn't this just a FUN reunion. Hey there Haruka, Michiru, Hotaru, still defending the outer Solar System... Rei, Minako, Ami, still on Earth, pretending you still believe in her. And Usagi! Almost gotcha didn't I?
ll
ll
(Rei) Wait, Usagi, why are you even here?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Oh, thanks for asking Rei. She came to my house, with THAT.
ll
Usagi pointed at Makoto's pistol.
ll
ll
Rei looked at Makoto with anger and disgust.
ll
ll
(Rei) What the hell is wrong with you, there were people in her house!
ll
ll
(Usagi) And you! You never told me she was plotting something.
ll
ll
(Rei) Because I thought you'd rip her head off at the first opportunity if you did!
ll
ll
(Usagi) Fair point. But still, a heads up would've been nice.
ll
ll
(Ami) So... what do we do with her?
ll
ll
Usagi grinned at Ami. Ami could feel the horrible idea that Usagi was coming up with.
ll
ll
(Ami) Ugh... do I even wanna ask?
ll
ll
(Usagi) You don't want me to kill her, I wanna kick the crap out of her. Let me go in there, without my Warframe.
ll
ll
(Haruka) You may be our leader, but jeez you can be stupid sometimes.
ll
ll
(Setsuna) I say let her.
ll
(Rei) I agree.
ll
ll
(Michiru) Are you two insane!? Makoto could kill her!
ll
ll
(Rei) If it gets to that point, I'll intervene.
ll
ll
(Hotaru) And her gun?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Allow me.
ll
ll
Usagi walked up to Makoto at the glass, still seething.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Yo, Makoto.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Let me the fuck out!
ll
ll
(Usagi) No, but I gotta a proposition for you.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Oh? And what might the former Leader of the Sailor Guardians be proposing to me.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Cage Match. Right here in those glass walls. We'll start when you give me the gun.
ll
ll
Makoto flashed a crooked grin as she broke out into a fit of laughter.
ll
ll
(Makoto) You!? Think you can beat ME!? A world Champion? Okay, since you wanna sign your own death warrant, sure, let's play Usagi.
ll
ll
Usagi walked inside of the glass walls with Garuda, taking away Makoto's gun with ease.
ll
ll
Then Usagi walked out of her Warframe and had Rei jump over the glass and drop her inside.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Jeez, you're either stronger than you're letting on, or you're even stupider than when we were the Sailor Guardians!
ll
ll
(Usagi) You better hope it's the latter.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Heh, in your sweet little dreams girl.
ll
ll
The two flew at each other throwing and dodging each other's blows
ll
ll
Makoto used her experience to dodge Usagi's blow, managing to get in a few punches, mainly aimed at Usagi's wide open chest and abdomen.
ll
ll
Taking the blows with ease, Usagi steeled her resolve, not expecting such light force from such an imposing woman.
ll
ll
Usagi dodged some more blows, throwing her hands out in fists, like she did when using Garuda's talons, throwing out swift, heavy fists.
ll
ll
Makoto was able to dodge them with relative ease, seeing as they looked more like her average opponents swift jabs. But she was it with a swift side kick to her thigh, stinging her upper thigh with a slight pain that slowly went away, but as Makoto tried to swiftly take her attention away from her leg, Usagi sent a jab to her gut, causing her to use one of the breathing techniques she learned in fighting, to keep the air in her lungs from being knocked out.
ll
ll
Not seeing Makoto go down, Usagi felt surprise as she fell to the ground after Makoto swept her leg hard behind Usagi.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Oh you bitch!
ll
ll
(Makoto) Takes one to know one!
ll
ll
The two fought, dodging, exchanging blows, trading direct hits as everyone watched the small spectacle.
ll
ll
(Rei) Wow... so this is what each of them look like on equal footing...
ll
ll
(Minako) Yeah... I've seen Makoto fight before. It's usually two rounds of her taking hits then knocking out her opponent with ease.
ll
ll
(Michiru) And when Usagi's in a Warframe, she's basically a different person.
ll
ll
(Haruka) Still can't believe we're entertaining this stupidity.
ll
ll
(Hotaru) Well, maybe not for us, but Usagi seems to be getting her fill of beating Makoto.
ll
ll
(Setsuna) Huh? What're you talking about?
ll
ll
(Hotaru) Haven't you seen them? Makoto's hits are more calculated and held back for an easier retreat. Whereas Usagi is used to getting hit, so she hits hard and slow, allowing for Makoto to get in a hit, which she's trained not to take.
ll
ll
(Ami) Yeah, now that I look closer, Usagi has done much more damage, seeing as Makoto seems to be slowing down considerably since they've started and she seems to even be reacting slower.
ll
ll
(Rei) Should we stop them?
ll
ll
(Haruka) Nah, they wanted to do this, might as well let them see it through.
ll
ll
ll
As the two fought, there were shadowy figures in the corners of Makoto's vision. Each of them looked like Mamoru when he dawned his Warframe.
ll
ll
(Makoto) (What the hell... they're like Usagi and the others but... they're different, dangerous)
ll
ll
The Warframes that Makoto all dawned similar helmets, all etched with an unknown sigil on their faces as they looked at her, watched her struggle.
ll
ll
One of the Warframe's spoke, their voice, raspy and dry in Makoto's mind.
ll
ll
(?) You took our masters away from us, betraying the ones who gave you all limitless strength.
ll
ll
(Makoto) (What the hell do you know, I don't even know who or what you are.)
ll
ll
(?) I am your reckoning, Tenno.
ll
ll
Simultaneously, the shadows disappeared from Makoto's vision in a single flash of red light in Makoto's vision, as Usagi landed a direct hit to her face and sent her sprawling to the ground, too tired and beaten to get up.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Finally! I didn't know when you were gonna quit! But I'll admit, you did put up a pretty good fight.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Whatever! You had those damn Shadows fucking with my head.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Um... did I hit you too hard? What shadows?
ll
ll
(Makoto) Oh come on! They were standing around the glass, next to Ami, Minako and Rei? Telling me how we took their masters away, and how they're our reckoning? C'mon, I know you did something.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Makoto, there isn't anyone else here.
ll
ll
The glass fell as the two rested.
ll
ll
(Setsuna) She's right. No one else was here. If someone was next to us, then we'd most definitely notice.
ll
ll
Suddenly, the sound of the Lotus' heels tapped rapidly against the ground as she walked quickly towards the group.
ll
ll
(Lotus) Tenno! Is everyone okay? Do any of you require medical attention?
ll
ll
Even though her voice was in it's regular tone. It was evident that there was some kind of alarm in her voice.
ll
ll
ll
(Usagi) Nah, still trying to convince this chick that she should join us.
ll
ll
(Haruka) Lotus? You sound... worried. Did something happen?
ll
ll
ll
(Lotus) Well, it appears so. Another enemy seems to have awakened. One that has been chasing the Tenno ever since the times of the Orokin.
ll
ll
(Minako) What does this enemy want?
ll
ll
(Lotus) This enemy... wishes to vanquish the Tenno, dwindle their numbers until there are truly none of you left. In the days of the Tenno, there were numerous occasions where the Tenno would have to fight this enemy, as they would attack the Tenno randomly, taking them by surprise in the middle of missions and causing them to almost fail.
ll
ll
(Makoto) What... Who... is that?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Oh, her? She's the Lotus. She basically lets us know when sentients are around so we can kick their asses. She's like a commander to us.
ll
ll
(Lotus) And who is this, Usagi?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Well, she's the stubborn one of the group. Her names Makoto Kino. She's a woman with brute strength.
ll
ll
(Lotus) I see... and does she intend on joining us?
ll
ll
(Usagi) I don't know. Do you?
ll
ll
Everyone looked at Makoto curiously.
ll
ll
Makoto stared at everyone, nervous.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Wow... um... really putting me on the spot here...
ll
ll
(Usagi) Well, you did kinda threaten me with a gun in front of my family, which wasn't cool... just sayin...
ll
ll
(Rei) And you did try to kill her boyfriend...
ll
ll
(Minako) You also tried to steal a Warframe...
ll
ll
(Makoto) OKAY! FINE, I'll join you. But only because you're guilt tripping me.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Okay, now we just need you to do one, incredibly difficult thing.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Which is...?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Makoto... Rei, Mina, Ami...all of them rescinded their fame and glory, so they could make themselves more available and out of the spotlight.
ll
ll
(Makoto) What the-!? I have to give up fighting? But I've made a pretty good living off of fights. How am I supposed to just give that up?
ll
ll
(Rei) Well, it's not like you have to give it up entirely.
ll
ll
(Minako) That's right. All you have to do is downsize your fighting into something more manageable.
ll
ll
(Ami) If I recall, back in high school, before you got into professional fighting, weren't you thinking about opening your own dojo?
ll
ll
ll
(Makoto) I... I did. But... do I really have to give up my career? I've worked hard for it to get this far.
ll
ll
(Rei) I spent two years showing off as the Youngest Shrine Maiden. Drawing people in, not with any actual interest, but because of my face and my identity.
ll
ll
(Minako) I lived like a rockstar, putting on shows every chance I got. I thought I was on top of the world, but I never realized how much sleep I've lost and how much time I've wasted.
ll
ll
(Ami) I tried so hard to be something... prestigious. I put helping my fellow human second to the prestige of being a surgeon. It blinded my vision until now.
ll
ll
ll
(Usagi) We've all come together again to fight this enemy. Makoto.
ll
ll
Usagi held out a hand to Makoto.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Join us. It'll be like the good ol days. And here, you'll be able to go all out, unlike on Earth.
ll
ll
ll
ll
Makoto hesitated, wondering if she should finally give in... or if she should keep fighting, fighting against the force that might trap her again, and keep her waiting for the next conflict.
ll
ll
But as Mokoto thought, she remembered how close she was to everyone, before pushing everyone away, like they were beneath her. She missed having actual friends, unlike the women she'd fight across the world, who only seemed interested in Makoto before their fights.
ll
ll
Makoto took Usagi's hand.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Fuck it. Might as well. Can't just let the world go to shit while I'm the only one just sitting on my ass.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Seeing that you'll finally join us, we might as well introduce you to your Warframe.
ll
ll
(Makoto) My... Warframe?
ll
ll
(Lotus) That is correct. In a past life, all of you, and many others, piloted these beings to protect the Origin System from falling into absolute chaos. You were the sword and Shield that fought to protect the weak and innocent from being thrown into the fatal flames of conflict.
ll
ll
(Makoto) So... the Silver Millenium... it... the one we saw with our own eyes... it... it never existed?
ll
ll
(Usagi) No. We were lied to. Had our memories changed by those long gone.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Wow... it's just a lot to take in... I thought you and Rei told me that as a last resort but it seems I've only been fighting to prevent a future from happening... that never came to be... well I'll be damned...
ll
ll
(Lotus) Now then... follow me. I will lead you to the Warframes in their Vault. A place where all of the Warframes, in their Prime Glory, from the days of the Orokin, and even from the Days of the Tenno.
ll
ll
(Makoto) The Orokin?
ll
ll
(Usagi) A race of ancient Humans from tens of thousands of years ago who we served, but were freed by a resistance group of Tenno, one's who overthrew the Orokin, causing their entire empire to fall to ruin, vanquishing them from existence.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Oh.
ll
ll
The group walked to the Vault, where dozens of Warframes, known and unknown, sat, kneeling as they waited to be returned to the fields of battle, their helmets each lowered in a bow.
ll
ll
Makoto walked behind the Lotus into the Vault, followed by everyone else.
ll
ll
ll
It caught her attention immediately, her sharp gold features grabbing her attention, as Makoto's eyes fell upon her clawed hands and her white and golden, broken restraints around her wrists.
ll
ll
(Lotus) Do you... perhaps remember her name?
ll
ll
(Makoto) Not a clue... but I do feel some kind of familiarity.
ll
ll
ll
(Lotus) Her name... is Valkyr. A Warframe, tortured by the ones who created her. She broke free of them, turning the tables, and becoming the hunter of her oppressors and her torturers.
ll
ll
(Makoto) How... do I put it on?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Don't worry, I'll walk you through it. Just focus your energy into one point of the Warframe.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Um... o..kay...?
ll
ll
Makoto focused, focusing on the Warframe's core as she transferred into the Warframe.
ll
ll
Inside of the Warframe, Makoto looked around, feeling the second skin around her own, feeling like she was being protected by another person.
ll
ll
(Makoto) What the...
ll
ll
(Usagi) Congrats! You just achieved something called "Transference". Your essence is inside of Warframe, piloting it with special powers given to us in our last lives, called Void Energy.
ll
ll
(Makoto) O-Okay. So do I just.
ll
ll
Makoto picked Valkyr up from the ground standing up.
ll
ll
Makoto looked around at everyone, then saw something that caught her eye in the corner of the room.
ll
ll
Makoto looked a liitle closer to see that it was the Warframe that Mamoru used to toss her like a ragdoll at the Shrine.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Over there... is that... Mamoru's Warframe?
ll
ll
ll
Immediately, Usagi transferred into Garuda and stood between Makoto/Valkyr and Mamoru's Warframe, Excalibur.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Yeah, it is.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Wow, still protective over Mamoru, even when he isn't here.
ll
ll
(Lotus) Come now, let's go back to the Main Throne Room, so you can get used to walking around in your Warframe.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Sure.
ll
ll
The group walked out of the Vault, and it was once again closed by the Lotus.
ll
ll
As the group walked through the Halls, Makoto could see glitches in her vision, at random points at irregular intervals, but she didn't say anything, chalking it up to the Old Technology just recalibrating.
ll
ll
ll
As the group walked into the Throne Room, Makoto's glitched vision worsened, but it was accompanied by loud sounds of crashes, distant booms and shouting voices, one of the voices being particularly loud and assertive.
ll
ll
ll
From everyone else's point of view, Makoto/Valkyr just fell silently to the ground, as if she had been knocked out mid stride.
ll
ll
As the Warframe fell to the ground, Usagi was quick to lift her up.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Woah, Makoto, you okay?
ll
ll
When Makoto didn't respond, Usagi shook the Warframe, trying to get a response from Makoto.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Makoto... Hey, Makoto, talk to me, you okay? Hey! Mako! Wake up!
ll
ll
(Rei) What the- Lotus, what's happening to her?
ll
ll
(Lotus) It's just like when Usagi came back from a particularly brutal fight. She was in a similar state, but fortunately, Makoto is still inside of her Warframe.
ll
ll
(Lotus) Take her to one of the simulation chambers, there, she'll be safe and allowed time to regain consciousness.
ll
ll
Usagi/Garuda ran, terrified. Running as fast as she could with Makoto/Valkyr lay motionless in her arms.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Don't worry Mako, you're gonna be fine, you're gonna be okay! Don't let whatever's happening get you! We still have to see who has the stronger Warframe Dammit!
ll
ll
Quickly getting to the other end of the long hall to the Throne, Usagi wasted no time getting Makoto/Valkyr into one of the chambers, as a line jabbed itself into Makoto's neck, as it began monitoring Makoto's vital signs.
ll
ll
After a minute, everyone caught up, and stared at the motionless Warframe, as a small display began showing Makoto's vital signs.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Lotus...? You said that she was going through the same thing as I was. But wasn't I only induced into that state because of my Warframe's injuries?
ll
ll
(Lotus) I'm... I'm not sure Usagi. I will monitor her vital signs for now. Now go home for the night Tenno. I will watch over Makoto until she has regain consciousness.
ll
ll
Everyone began leaving, the pistol that Makoto had brought was given to Usagi, as she placed it on the table in the Throne room.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Lotus... when I went into the Simulation Chamber to heal... I... I saw something... my past life. I saw a moment where I saw the woman, the Orokin, who I was named after and who was supposed to be my mother, just as the Tenno laid siege to the Silver Millenium in the Tenno Rebellion. Is there a chance she might see something from her pasts?
ll
ll
ll
The Lotus stopped tapping on her displays, trying not to worry, but stopped and looked at Usagi.
ll
ll
(Lotus) I'm sorry... Tenno... In this new age, I'm not sure what will happen to her in there. If you are correct in your guess and she sees a glimpse of her past, I will hope that she is not within her Warframe.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Why is that?
ll
ll
(Lotus) Long ago, when the Tenno were first placed inside of the Warframes, there were some, rebels of the sort, who wanted to push the boundaries of what the Orokin would tolerate. One such Warframe, was Valkyr.
ll
ll
(Lotus) Seeing as the Warframes and Tenno were something to be studied, explored and documented amongst the rest of the Information of the Origin System, they took their time experimenting on them, which mostly led to Warframes, and their operators being tortured for as long as the Orokin were interested.
ll
ll
ll
As Makoto fell to her knees from the sudden rush of sounds around her. She was ripped into another time.
ll
ll
As Makoto stood up, everyone had disappeared around her, and the Throne room was empty, none of the Lotus' systems were there, nor were any of her contraptions.
ll
ll
As Makoto looked around for them, she could see the broken glass ceiling, as a few small, quick objects quickly flew by, their thrusters screaming as they flew overhead.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Serenity! Where are you?
ll
ll
(Makoto)(What the..? Why did I say her old name?)
ll
ll
A comm lit up on the left side of Makoto's vision, showing the name "Princess Serenity"
ll
ll
The voice barked at Makoto with anger.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Serenity, where are you!? We need to regroup, we're under attack!
ll
ll
(Princess Serenity) I know. I and the rest of our squadron are heading to Earth, to join the resistance.
ll
ll
(Makoto) WHAT!? Why the hell did you betray our Masters! They'll kill us if they find out what we did!
ll
(Princess Serenity) Oh Mako... I've seen what those greedily, heartless Researchers have done to you. From the timing, you escaped their labs in the initial confusion, didn't you?
ll
ll
Makoto looked down at her wrists at the restraints.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Yes, but that doesn't change the subject. We need to find the Queen and take her to-
ll
ll
(Princess Serenity) Mako, the Queen is dead. The Enemy Commander... he came down through the ceiling and slit her throat faster than we could react. I tried fighting him but... I couldn't help but feel a sense of... relief and happiness, watching the Queen die.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Princess, you sound insane! What did he do to you!?-
ll
ll
(Princess Serenity) Makoto, you don't have to force yourself to be an Orokin Soldier. We're free Mako. We are not apart of the Orokin Empire, and we are now apart of the Tenno Rebellion.
ll
ll
The words echoed in Makoto's mind as she stared at the Empty Throne while listening to Princess Serenity.
ll
ll
As She listened to the words again, Soldiers, looking like a mix of futuristic weaponry and armor, but at the same time, ancient appearance entered the Throne Room and yelled at Makoto to stand down and surrender.
ll
ll
Makoto turned around, looking at the Soldiers, known as the Dax. Dax Soldiers were an entire social class of soldiers of the Orokin Empire, unable to wield the Warframes like the Children of the Zarimen.
ll
ll
As she looked at the Soldiers, a smirk rose upon her face within the Warframe as she asked the Princess excitedly.
ll
ll
(Makoto) My Princess...? Does that mean that the Dax are our... enemies?
ll
ll
(Princess Serenity) Indeed it does, Makoto. Come to the Main Courtyard, should you see ANY Dax, then... Go WILD.
ll
ll
(Makoto) That's all I needed.
ll
ll
Makoto's chest pounded with excitement as she used her first ability, Rip Line, to send forth a hook made from her energy, as it latched to the floor before her enemies, where she catapulted herself towards them, using her second ability, War Cry.
ll
ll
War Cry, is an ability where Valkyr lets out a harrowing scream, that boost the attack speed of her allies, who are pumped up by her War Cry, whereas it slows down her enemies, now hesitent to attack her head on.
ll
ll
As slid before them, she used her Ultimate ability, Hysteria. As she readied her attack, claws are created from a mix of energy, her anger and her hatred as she unleashed a flurry of claw attacks as she swiped and swiftly defeated the group of Dax Soldiers in her way.
ll
ll
As she ran through the many halls of the Silver Millenium, a hole was created after a blast of energy vaporized the wall as fragments fell to the ground.
ll
ll
Makoto went outside to quicken her sprint to Princess Serenity.
ll
ll
As Makoto jumped out of the hole, she saw a large scale battle taking place.
ll
ll
Warframes were fighting Dax Soldiers in melee combat as well as gunfights, and Dax soldiers aimed bow weapons at Tenno flying by on Archwings, something unfamiliar, but incredibly fascinating to Makoto.
ll
ll
Makoto resisted the urge to jump into the battle, running over the rooftops, taking out bowmen and women in her wake.
ll
ll
As Makoto ran, she enjoyed thr thrill of real combat, regardless of how quickly it went, the feeling of battle pleased Makoto's senses.
ll
ll
As Makoto made her way to the Main Courtyard, she found that as she got closer, it got quieter and quickly became empty of fighting.
ll
ll
Makoto reached the Courtyard, landing onto the grassy field with ease, but reeling back as a pair of large daggers and a few weapons were pointed at her.
ll
ll
(?) Woah, hey! No need for alarm, she's apart of the Princess' squadron. She's good.
ll
ll
Weapons from other Warframes were withdrawn.
ll
ll
She looked at the Warframe speaking, seeing it was Mamoru's Warframe. But her body was on autopilot, like she was just going through the motions.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Oh? And who might you be? I've never seen a Tenno like you before.
ll
ll
(?) Nice to meet you. I am the leader of the Tenno Rebellion, Former Prince of the Golden Empire, Prince Endymion.
ll
ll
(Endymion) Now, could you please retract your claws, so we can regroup you with the others on the transport we've procured?
ll
ll
(Makoto) Huh?
ll
ll
Makoto looked down at her arms, her energized claws still glowing bright as her hands and arms were full of blood from her enemies.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Oh! Right.
ll
ll
Makoto retracted the claws and followed Endymion to an elevator, to which Endymion and Makoto rode alone.
ll
ll
(Endymion) So... Whats your name? And what is the name of your Warframe, if you don't mind me asking?
ll
ll
(Makoto) Oh, my name's Makoto. And this here is Valkyr.
ll
ll
Endymion seemed surprised by Makoto's announcement of Valkyr.
ll
ll
(Endymion) Hold on... you're the one who wields the one known as "Valkyr"?
ll
ll
(Makoto) I mean, I'm standing right next to you. Why? Am I famous or something.
ll
ll
Emdymion put a hand on Makoto's shoulder.
ll
ll
(Endymion) Yes... but you... You are famous for being one of the most tortured Warframes and Operators within our ranks. I'm... so sorry for what you've been through. The cruelty that you've endured has been heard about throughout the Tenno ranks.
ll
ll
Makoto laughed a little.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Thanks, but I don't need much sympathy. It's good knowing I'll have fun tearing my enemies apart, knowing what they've done to me, and knowing that I'm about to return the favor more than tenfold.
ll
ll
(Endymion) Good... Glad to hear it.
ll
ll
As the elevator came to a stop, the door opened to a vast hangar, with an enormous ship in the middle, floating as it was held in place by two large, mechanical arms.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Woah...! We're gonna ride inside of a Railjack!?
ll
ll
(Endymion) Wow, you know what these are? I would've though the Queen would've kept you from such amazing things, worried her elite squadron would escape her vast clutches.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Yeah right! She was about to send us on a suicide mission in one of these. We've used them to fight the Sentients during the Old War, just like most of the kids that came from the Zarimen.
ll
ll
(Endymion) I see.
ll
ll
ll
(Makoto) Buuut... it has been a while. So it's pretty nice to get in one for a change. At least... from where I was.
ll
ll
As the two entered the Railjack, Makoto saw the other girls, all standing at the front of the ship.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Mako! Are you okay!? Are you hurt?
ll
ll
(Makoto) Always such a worrywart. Funny, seeing as you're probably even more violent than me, seeing as your Warframe is called the "Blood Queen".
ll
ll
(Usagi) Jokes aside, I see you've met our new leader.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Yeah...
ll
ll
Mamoru walked around to the ships other areas, checking in on civilians, fellow rebels, and others who wanted to join the Tenno cause.
ll
ll
After some more chatter, Prince Endymion returned to the deck.
ll
ll
(Endymion) So, are you all ready. Ready to leave this place of greed and sadness behind?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Yes... we are. But I have one request.
ll
ll
(Endymion) And that is...?
ll
ll
(Usagi) I want to be the pilot of this ship.
ll
ll
(Endymion) Are you sure? I have a number of trained soldiers who have been trained to fly.
ll
ll
(Usagi) No... I can do it.
ll
ll
(Endymion) Understood. Then prepare to take flight.
ll
ll
ll
Usagi took her place onto the Railjacks controls as she prepared to fly up and out of the hangar.
ll
ll
Over the comms system, Usagi announced.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Attention all personnel and civilian passengers. Prepare for lift off and flight to Earth. It's gonna be rough, so hang onto something.
ll
ll
As the ship lifted off from the hangar, it was hit with stray bullets, the last ones in the Silver Millenium, as they bounced off of the ships shields.
ll
ll
As Usagi finished, the doors of the hangar opened and the Railjack ascended upwards before lifting off of the Golden covered Lunar Surface.
ll
ll
ll
As the Railjack lifted off, it seemed that smaller vessels and Warframe's on Archwings also began to ascend, some giving covering fire as they left the Moon.
ll
ll
In Orbit, Usagi took notice of the numerous amount of Railjacks and smaller, personal Landing Crafts as they dotted her view.
ll
ll
(Ami) So many...
ll
ll
(Endymion) Since you guys were out of ammunition and energy, we still decided that a large scale attack would be required to lay siege to the Silver Millenium.
ll
ll
ll
Usagi turned the ship to look at the Lunar Surface, and stared, at the burning empire, once her home, and prison, now reduced to ash and rubble as flames ate at the tall buildings and decorated cities.
ll
ll
(Rei) I can't believe it... we're really leaving this place...
ll
ll
(Haruka) It feels so wrong to leave... but it is what we need to do in order to live on, to be free.
ll
ll
(Michiru) They're reign over this system is ending. This is truly a sight to behold. The Orokin Empire... once a society of unmatched and unyielding strength... reduced to rubble by their own creations.
ll
ll
(Endymion) Earth was once similar, as Tenno, along with our sympathizers, easily overtook the Golden Kingdom.
ll
ll
ll
(Hotaru) Is... Is that where we're going? Earth?
ll
ll
(Endymion) Yes. And for now, it shall be your home, among your own. On Earth, Tenno are allowed to do as they please, even if that means leaving the front lines.
ll
ll
(Michiru) What!? Is...that really possible?
ll
ll
(Endymion) It is. There are few who have actually retired from the fight though. But yes, it is possible for you to help the Tenno in other ways, without putting yourself in harm's way.
ll
ll
ll
As the Ships flew away from the Moon and towards Earth, Makoto was about to sit on the deck, falling asleep to the passing stars as Usagi flew by them, and from the subtle roar of the engines.
ll
ll
But before Makoto fell asleep, something pinged her senses.
ll
ll
Wide awake now, Makoto looked around the Deck, looking around.
ll
ll
Usagi quietly talked to Endymion as she flew the ship, avoiding debris as she spoke to Endymion through their Warframes.
ll
ll
She looked over to see Haruka and Michiru discussing something.
ll
ll
Minako, Rei, Ami and Hotaru were all huddled together, staring out of the ship's visor near Usagi.
ll
ll
But something caught her eye in the corner of the room.
ll
ll
She saw herself. But it was, really her. Outside of her Warframe.
ll
ll
The being seemed to react to Makoto noticing her and walked over, her hair swaying from side to side as she walked over to Makoto, sitting right next to her as she sat, stunned.
ll
ll
As the being grew closer, Makoto saw that her eyes were like the void, black with an unnerving light.
ll
ll
As the being sat next to Makoto, it whispered to her in her own voice, telling her, "Hey there kiddo." "Congrats on waking up to the truth."
ll
ll
As the being pulled away, she giggled, and the dream faded as fluid drained from the simulation chamber.
ll
ll
As Makoto slowly gained consciousness, Usagi knelt at her side.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Mako. How are you feeling? Can you stand?
ll
ll
(Makoto) I feel... great? What the hell...? I feel pretty damn good actually.
ll
ll
Makoto lifted herself to her feet, standing next to Usagi.
ll
ll
(Usagi) We need to talk after we leave.
ll
ll
(Makoto) O..kay, I guess?
ll
ll
As Makoto stepped out of the Chamber, she looked around, seeing that Only Usagi was there.
ll
ll
ll
(Makoto) What the!?- Where is everyone!?
ll
ll
(Usagi) I sent them home, and told the Lotus that I'd wait for you to wake up. About time too, I was getting a little drowsy from sitting around.
ll
ll
ll
(Makoto) How long was I out for?
ll
ll
Usagi pulled out her phone flipping it open.
ll
ll
(Usagi) You've been out for... almost three days.
ll
ll
(Makoto) HUH!? I've been out... for... three whole days...?
ll
ll
(Makoto) C'mon, stop kidding around Usagi, there's no way I've been out for more than a few hours!
ll
ll
(Usagi) Well, I've been coming here to watch you, waiting for you to wake up. The other's have visited every day, and so has the Lotus, but I send them away, telling them not to worry and that I'll be here.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Now c'mon. I'll take you home, but let's get your Warframe with the rest of ours.
ll
ll
Makoto went over to the rest of their warframes, looking at each of them, kneeling, remembering how they looked in her dream. Then she kneeled hers at the end and transferred out of it.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Alright, let's go.
ll
ll
The two went through the portal, coming into Setsuna's apartment.
ll
ll
It was night again, as the two tip-toed past the rooms, making sure not to make noise.
ll
ll
Outside, thunder rumbled as it began to sprinkle.
ll
ll
As Usagi drove quietly, she talked to Makoto.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Mako... I believe I have a reason to believe you saw something after you fainted right? A dream?
ll
ll
(Makoto) Um... yeah, actually. I did. How... did you know?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Because the same thing happened to me. Only, I was in a lot more pain. But regardless-
ll
ll
(Makoto) Woah. You were in so much pain you fainted? What happened... if you don't mind me asking.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Sure you wanna hear about that?
ll
ll
(Makoto) I don't see the harm.
ll
ll
ll
(Usagi) Well. It was a while after I tried reaching out to everyone for the first and second times. I was angry. Rei and Minako were just starting to make an effort, but I just couldn't handle their worries about their fame and riches.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Which couldn't have come at a worse time. I had just ripped them a new one the day prior and heard from Shingo that Minako wanted to talk to me, but he talked in into leaving before I realized she was there. And on the day, Sentients were attacking, and I, Haruka, Michiru and Hotaru were all sent out to Eris to clear out a Sentient attempt to gain ground in the Solar System.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Oh, like how you and the others take turns going out and fighting waves of enemies coming from those big things, Orphixes you called them?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Yeah, and we were still new to them, so when multiple Orphixes started dropping from the sjy, all we could do was prepare ourselves.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Then what happened.
ll
ll
(Usagi) I couldn't hold it in anymore. I was so angry, so frustrated by the pain of rejection, so sad that I had lost all of you, and terrified that I'd die that, I lost it, I just tore through everything I could find.
ll
ll
(Makoto) And how did that go?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Heh. It went as well as you'd expect. I was in a rage, everyone was yelling at me through the comms, the Lotus was trying to get my attention... it was so loud...
ll
ll
(Usagi) If I got hit, I'd just stagger. The pain only seared for a second, then I just... got back up, and I kept going. I heard more fighting as Rei and Minako arrived, but I didn't really hear them, so I blocked it out, thinking it was just them trying to talk me out of the fight.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Afterwards, I just wanted to go home. I was too tired, I felt empty...
ll
ll
(Makoto) Then what?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Well, we all headed back to the Moon, and there, the Lotus got worried for me, and then she told me that, while my Warframe healed, Rei and Minako would fight in my stead, to which, at the time, did not sit well with me.
ll
ll
(Makoto) I see.
ll
ll
(Usagi) And after some more angry words towards the two, I tried transferring out of Garuda, and well... that's when all the pain hit me.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Pain? From the fight? I didn't think that would transfer from Warframe to Pilot.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Well, usually it doesn't. But Garuda had been severely damaged and well, I'm guessing she couldn't hide all of the pain.
ll
ll
(Usagi) As I went back into Garuda, I drifted into sleep, as Rei and Minako talked to the Lotus, worried about me, as I was about you.
ll
ll
ll
(Makoto) Huh... Odd how similar things were.
ll
ll
(Usagi) So I'm guessing... you saw into the past?
ll
ll
(Makoto) Yeah... and you were right... it had been hidden from us. Meaning that the future we went to... all the people in that future... never existed in the first place.
ll
ll
(Usagi) Not for me.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Oh? And what makes you...
ll
ll
(Makoto looked over at Usagi, who seemed to be smiling as tears welled up in her eyes.)
ll
ll
(Makoto) Hey... are you okay?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Yeah, I'm alright, but had a few visions after that dream, and in one of the visions, I see myself with Mamoru, and I see myself... pregnant with Chibusa.
ll
ll
(Makoto) Really... so I guess not all of it was fake... but does that mean I'll have visions as well?
ll
ll
(Usagi) Well... that'll all depend, on you.
ll
ll

End of Episode 13: Fighting Solves Everything!
