Eve feels miserable!
Eve arrives at home. She is extremely upset, close to tears and devastated. She is relieved to find out no one else from the family is at home yet. She is especially glad for not running into her mother. Eve loves her mother more than anything, but she would immediately notice that something is wrong with her and would keep pestering her until she reveals herself. But Eve is not in the mood to talk right now. She just wants to hide in her room and forget the rest of the world.
She quickly hurries upstairs and storms into her room. There she collapses on her bed in despair and finally lets her tears flow. The world is just so unfair and mean to her! She thought Jackson really liked her. He was so sweet and cute when he asked her if she would go on a date with him and for a brief moment she had that tiny hope that Jackson was serious about her. But Jason was just like all the other boys. He had only asked her out on a date because she was the daughter of a rich film producer and he saw a chance that dating her would get him a job at 'Sheffield & Babcock Production'. In moments like these she sometimes wishes not to be the daughter of Maxwell Sheffield but to have a normal average father, with a normal average job and a normal average income. Then maybe the boys would be interested in her and not in her father.
Eve actually lives a life that many girls in Los Angeles can only dream of. Her father, Maxwell Sheffield, is a successful and rich film producer and, contrary to the cliché that marriages in Hollywood don't last, still married to her mother Fran. Eve always thought that she has the best and greatest mother in the whole wide world, even if she sometimes gives strange and unconventional advices. Her family lives a life of prosperity. They live in a magnificent mansion in Beverly Hills. They also own a beach house right on Santa Monica Beach, where they often spend the weekends together.
Eve has everything a girl could wish for: a big room, clothes, shoes, jewelry and everything that makes a girl's heart beat faster. Since her early childhood her parents had allowed her to pursue many hobbies. She had been taking riding lessons since she was a little girl and now she even has her own horse. She playes tennis and takes dance and violin lessons. She and her brother Jonah recently started to learn surfing. There was only one thing her parents' money couldn't buy her: true friends who truly love her for who she is.
Eve is a pretty girl. She is tall, slim and has inherited her mother's light soft skin. As her mother she has thick, long hair. However her hair is lighter than her mother's. Her hair reflects variety shades of brown and her mother often claims Eve should be very proud of her beautiful hair. Many women would pay a lot of money for these color effects. Despite her family's prosperity Eve is a kind and modest girl. She likes to help and support others and she loves animals.
But for some time now she has been carrying a secret heartache with her. No matter what she tries, she can't find a boy who really is attracted to her and who does not see in her the daughter of a wealthy man, but simply Eve. All the boys she had met so far had only been interested in her because she was Maxwell Sheffield's daughter and every date she had so far turned out into a huge disaster.
Eve goes into her bathroom and wipes away her tears. She washes her face with ice cold water and looks at herself in the mirror. She wonders if there is something wrong with her and if it is perhaps her fault that no boy has ever truly fallen in love with her.
