The campers were still in confusion at the choppers that had just flown over to the island.
They had been ordered to sail back and cut the engine.
"Yes! Yes! We are saved!" Kenji shouted as he chuckled.
"I don't know...these guys don't seem trustworthy judging by the tone." Ali said as he crossed his arms.
"I second that notio-" Darius is cutoff as Kenji ran to the control room to turn the boat around.
"Wait, Kenji!" He shouted, but the rich boy was not listening.
The others ran to the engine room as well as Kenji put the boat in drive.
Before he could move, Darius pulls the lever back.
"Not exactly getting good guy vibes Kenji." Darius stated simply.
"Yea, unmarked choppers, big scary guns." Yasmina listed off.
"Totally not suspicious at all." Brooklynn said with an eyeroll.
"Oh I'm sorry, what would you bring to rescue seven kids on an island full of killer dinosaurs?" Kenji shouted.
"Um, everything Yas mentioned plus a more inviting attitude." Ali deadpanned at him.
"I don't know guys...Kenji has a point." Ben spoke up.
"Have we learned nothing from Mitch and Tiff?" Ali questioned them.
Before anything else can be said a lightning bolt sang through the air with a loud clap.
They all turned and quickly noticed the terrible storm that had begun.
"The sea is pretty rough..." Sammy trailed off as she grabbed Kenji's arm.
"Alright then, we take our chances with the people on the helicopter?" Darius questioned.
They all thought it over before they all nodded.
"We have no choice with that storm...just stick together guys." Ali said as he grabbed Yas' hand in his own.
They each locked the hold as the trackstar thought about the events of a few moments ago.
'Was he really about to...no way, he would never.' She mentally dismissed her own thoughts.
Darius then nods at Kenji as he puts the engine on and sails back to the dock.
The boat comes into port as Brooklynn hopped off of it and began tying the rope around the anchor.
The rest of the group hops out as they all stood and watched the choppers land.
A smooth faced man in tactical clothing got out with an automatic rifle in hand.
This definitely intimated the kids but they steadily made their way to the strangers.
"I have a terrible feeling about all of this." Ali whispered to the others as they got closer.
"What are you kids doing out here?" Questioned a mercenary as Ben, Sammy, and Kenji ran onto the chopper that was being piloted by a female mercenary.
"Long story! Too long." Sammy responded.
"Way, too long!" Kenji shouted as they sat down and got strapped in.
"Wait, if you're not here to rescue us, then why are you here?" Ben questioned the mercenaries.
Before the conversation could continue loud stomps could be heard in the distance.
The rest of the camp fam was not on the chopper yet.
They all gained fearful expressions as they stood in anticipation.
"Oh no." Ali said lowly as the mercenary became fearful as well.
And with a mighty roar, Rexy stomped into view.
The sight of this mighty creature caused the pilot to gain a shook expression.
She yelped and quickly began taking off in hopes of getting away.
"What are you doing?" Kenji shouted.
Was this woman really about to leave their friends behind, and even her own comrades?
Rexy bites onto the helicopter's landing gear as the conversation was replaced with their fearful screams.
Sammy almost fell out of the chopper as Kenji grabbed her arm to keep her from plummeting to her doom.
Ben holds onto Kenji as he held onto the helicopter's wall, he had become the anchor.
Sammy whimpered as she was ever so close to death.
"What the hell is she doing?" Ali shouted at the mercenary on the ground.
The pilot jerks the helicopter around as Rexy grew annoyed and let it go.
This caused the chopper to slingshot a bit, but the pilot fortunately steadied it and flew to a safe distance.
"Wait! Stop!" The male mercenary yelled as he tried to stop the pilot from abandoning them.
It was too late, Rexy quickly walked over to him and chomped down on him swiftly.
As his blood splattered everywhere, everyone who witnessed the carnage had gasped and or screamed in fear.
The female pilot screamed as well as she quickly flew away from the area.
"Wait...she's leaving us." Darius said plainly.
"No! Stop!" Yasmina shouted as they all waved their hands.
"No...no." Kenji said from his position in the chopper.
"No!" Sammy shouted in terror, her friends were essentially sitting ducks now.
"You can't just leave them! Go back!" Ben exclaimed.
The pilot ignored their complaints completely as she continued to fly away.
Rexy roared angrily as the ground group gasped.
"Run!" Brooklynn shouted as they turned and bolted in the other direction.
Rexy quickly noticed this and gave chase.
"We need to get out of sight somehow!" Ali shouted as the group nodded in response and continued running.
Chopper Group
An awkward silence had fell over the group for a second.
"How could you just leave them!" Sammy shouted at the pilot, as she broke the silence.
"To keep us alive! You're welcome." The woman replied with a stone cold tone.
The kids almost looked baffled for a second, this woman had no heart.
Sammy whimpered as she hugged Kenji tightly, their friends could all be dead rn.
"You're not thanked!" Kenji shouted as he hugged Sammy back.
"Ali was right! We should stayed on the boat!" Ben shouted angrily.
"November Echo 765, there was an attack, I have three kids on board, Hansen's...gone, heading to rendezvous point, hello? Do you copy?" She questioned.
As she continued to fly, it alerted a sleeping flock of Pteranodons.
Things are about to get heated up.
Ground team
They were still running frantically trying to escape the island's apex predator.
"She's still on us!" Ali shouted as Rexy roared loudly and continued chasing them.
The group hopped over a fallen tree as it slowed them down a bit unfortunately.
Rexy was gaining, but they couldn't stop now.
After a while they got to a small shrub, which provided them with just enough cover to hide from the Queen.
They each chose their own hiding spots to ensure they were not easily found.
Rexy walked through the area as she roared loudly.
She failed to notice Darius hiding behind a tree, Brooklynn hiding under a rock foundation, and Ali hid in the shadows of a tree.
As Rexy got to Yasmina's hiding spot, she sniffed around, Yasmina was definitely found out.
The trackstar breathed frantically as Rexy lifted the dead tree she was hiding under.
The dinosaur looks directly at her with a low growl.
Yasmina yells out as she got up and began running away from the Queen of the island.
Rexy roared and started off with a lazy trudge.
"Yas!" Ali shouted as he went after them.
He ran in front of Rexy as she roared and tried to lunge at him, thankfully the allstar dodged and continued running after Yasmina.
Yasmina fell onto a fallen tree that had been a natural bridge as she quickly got up and began running across it.
Ali leaps and runs on the tree as well as he began catching up to Yasmina.
Rexy stopped and roared loudly at them.
"Why did you come out of hiding!?" Yasmina shouted angrily at Ali.
"I was not gonna leave you on your own against a damn T Rex Yas! You know that!" Ali shouted back as they continued running.
Brooklynn and Darius had now came out of hiding as they ran to the sound of Rexy's roar in order to help their friends.
Rexy stomped on the tree as she shook it causing Yasmina to fall off, fortunately Ali caught her by the arm.
"Yasmina!" He shouted with fear evident in voice.
They both noticed Rexy coming closer as she lets out a loud roar.
"Let me go!" Yasmina exclaimed.
"Never!" Ali shouted in response.
Rexy stomped the tree again causing Ali to fall as well, as both of the athletes ultimately began tumbling down the mud bank.
Ali hugged Yasmina to his chest as they tumbled.
They both groaned as they fell all the way to the ground with a small thud.
Ali let out an audible grunt as he took most of the damage, Yasmina was somewhat protected as he held her firmly in his arms.
They both breathed raggedly. "Are you...okay?" Yasmina groaned out.
Rexy's loud stomps drew their attention as they looked up the Queen who growled at them.
'This can't be the end...atleast I died with the one I loved in my arms.' Ali mentally stated, though he was crossed he never did get to tell Yasmina how he felt.
Rexy was about to finish them off, but she was distracted as two rocks struck the side of her face.
The queen turned to where the rocks came from irately as Yasmina and Ali turned slowly as well.
They all noticed Brooklynn and Darius standing a few feet away.
"This was a horrible idea." Darius said plainly.
"You're right." Brooklynn replied as her voice cracked.
"Run!" Brooklynn shouted as Rexy roared and began chasing them.
"We have to help!" Ali shouted as he got up and helped Yas up in the process.
"This is getting outta hand!" Yasmina shouted as they ran after Rexy and their friends.
As Brooklynn and Darius ran away from the apex predator, they tripped in between two large trees and landed in a heap.
The two teens whimpered as they hugged eachother in fear.
Fortunately Rexy had been caught between the trunks of the trees, as she tried to bite at them.
"Secure the area! Marine 1! You need to close the gate!" A voice said over a speaker as a chopper flew overhead.
Rexy was quickly distracted by this, and the light from the helicopter.
Fortunately, the queen left Brooklynn and Darius alone and began making her way to the chopper's direction.
"We're alive how?" Brooklynn questioned.
"I find it best not to question this stuff." Darius stated cryptically.
The two teens continued to hug as they looked at eachother.
They unconsciously began moving their faces together, their bodies had seemingly been under a trance.
"Ugh! And here I thought we were done running from dinosaurs." Ali groaned out as Yasmina and himself came upon the scene.
Brooklynn and Darius both shook their heads as they turned away with large blushes.
"Are you guys alright?" Yasmina questioned.
"Yes! Perfectly fine!" Brooklynn shouted as Darius chose to keep quiet.
"Right...well she should probably get going." Ali said as they got up.
Brooklynn and Darius wouldn't deny that both of their hearts were pounding right now but, they had to go after Rexy.
The group ran after the T Rex who had begun chasing a man in a yellow raincoat.
They stayed at a safe distance as they noticed the man climbing a chopper's ladder that had been hovering over the Jurassic World lagoon.
Rexy bites onto the rope ladder as the man scurried up it.
The group gasped sharply as it seemed that Kenji would get them.
"Oh no." Brooklynn said in a hushed tone.
Fortunately Rexy's bite force made the ladder snap off, luckily the man was on a higher part of it as the chopper began flying away, with him being safely on it.
The campers cheered loudly and whooped.
"He made it!" Darius shouted.
"Lucky guy!" Yasmina shouted as well.
"He's definitely blessed." Ali said with a smirk.
As if to spite him, the Mosasaurus lunges up and chomps onto the ladder, eating the man in the process.
The campers all gasp sharply in terror as the girls turned away.
Darius and Ali both looked down with frowns.
"Two deaths in one night, God bless the fallen." Ali said as he made a prayer sign.
"That was insane, what were they even doing?" Brooklynn questioned.
"No idea." Darius responded.
"But whatever it was, they definitely weren't here to rescue us." Yasmina stated firmly.
Their attention is drawn to a chopper flying overhead.
"Is that the one the others are on?" Brooklynn questioned.
"Only one way to find out." Ali stated simply as he took off after it.
The others minus Yasmina quickly followed, this entite situation was going haywire.
"Ugh! When are we gonna get off this island?" The trackstar shouted as she ran after them.
As they came out to an open field, the chopper began landing.
The passengers were definitely not their friends.
It was a group of mercenaries, their lead official, Hawkes, hopped out first.
His two other team members hopped out after as he turned on his flashlights and began scoping out the area.
"We gotta find cover." Darius stated urgently.
"The boulder is perfect!" Ali shouted as they all ran and hid behind it.
They then poked their heads out to see what was happening.
Unfortunately they were forced to duck again as Hawkes shined his flashlight in their direction, fortunately he didn't notice them.
Hawkes then decided the coast was clear, so he signaled for the final passenger in the helicopter to come out.
The group all gasped simultaneously as they instantly recognized who it was.
"You've gotta be kidding me." Yasmina said tiredly.
"Wu? What's the mad doctor himself doing back here?" Ali questioned.
Wu puts out a black umbrella to protect him from the rain.
"Can't fly any further in this storm doc." Hawkes informed him.
"Do we have the Indominus sample or not?" Wu questioned him bitingly.
"Comms are down, haven't really heard from the other teams." Hawkes explained.
"Well then Mister Hawkes, we need to retrieve my research laptop." Wu said.
"Where is it at?" Hawkes questioned him.
"In my private lab, we have to go on foot, too bad we didn't come prepared." Wu said with distaste.
"We have different ideas of prepared." Hawkes stated as he whistled to his group.
"Let's move!" He shouted as he led them forward with Wu following closely.
The camp fam had heard the entire convo and were left confused.
"What would Doctor Wu want with an Indominus sample?" Yasmina questioned.
"My guess is...make another monster, wouldn't put it past that scummy bastard." Ali said with a shrug.
Brooklynn gasped sharply. "He wouldn't..." She trailed off.
"We have to put a stop to all this, we can't have another Scorpious situation." Darius stated.
"I know the laptop he's talking about, we'll get there first, destroy it." Brooklynn said as everyone minus Yasmina got up and began walking.
"Or...we don't." Yasmina spoke up causing them all to turn and look at her with shocked expressions.
They could not believe what they were hearing.
"What? Do you really want another Indominus or Scorpious running around in the world?" Brooklynn questioned her.
"I hear you but...Wu is our ticket out of here, if we get caught destroying his stuff, he might not take us home." Yasmina said as she looked down.
Brooklynn looked down as well, she knew she was right.
"You make a good point Yas...but, I'd rather risk that than allow him to create another monster, could you really live with yourself knowing you just sat back and allowed that greedy man to make another hybrid?" Ali pressed on.
"I couldn't, we can put a stop to it all, we all care deeply about eachother, and I don't want any of us to get harmed because I sat back and just let Wu be Wu." Ali said as he sighed.
"Okay...let's say we destroy the laptop, then what? He'll make more." Yasmina said dismissively.
"So...we'll take it to Costa Rica, give it to the authorities and...expose Wu's plans." Brooklynn explained.
"Yea, he'll be punished and never be able to do it again." Darius added to the plan.
"Sounds like a good plan to me, what do you say Yasmina? Are you with us?" Ali questioned as he offered his hand to the trackstar.
Yasmina thought it over for a second, before sighing.
She took his hand as he helped her to her feet.
"Alright, I just...wish it wasn't always up to us." Yasmina said with another sigh.
"Hm, it could be our unrivaled bravery or we're simply just stupid. " Ali said with a shrug.
"Well, we're the only idiots on this messed up island who seem to care about keeping people safe." Brooklynn said as she turned to Darius.
He grabbed her hand as they looked into eachother's faces.
"Whatever it takes?" Darius questioned her.
Brooklynn nodded in response.
"So you're with us then, Yas?" Ali asked she nodded.
"If I'm with you, I'm fine." Yasmina admitted with a blush.
Ali turned away swiftly before she could see his face.
"Ahem, then let's go put a stop this tomfoolery." He said as they got out from behind the boulder and began trailing Wu and his crew.
"Sounds easy enough to me, we just have to beat a bunch of armed adults who have a headstart." Brooklynn said sarcastically.
"I don't think they have a headstart at all." Ali said with a smirk.
Brooklynn looked at him with an arched eyebrow, was he blind? Wu's group was way ahead of them.
"Yup, they don't know it's a race." Yasmina said with a smirk of her own as she sprinted off.
Ali ran after her as they sprinted next to eachother.
"This could be our rematch." Yasmina said with a shrug.
"Only you could turn this into a contest between us." Ali said as she shook her head with a small smile.
Brooklynn and Darius looked at eachother for a split second before they then ran after the two athletes.
All four teens ran through the heavy rain, time was of the essence.
Air Team
The helicopter was flying through the storm as lightning struck almost every two seconds.
Kenji was still holding onto Sammy as she held her head to his chest in sorrow.
Ben was looking out the door in anger.
"November Echo! Do you copy?" The woman shouted.
Kenji was growing tired of her failed attempts.
"Lady! Nobody is copying! Just turn around and get our friends!" He shouted.
Sammy raised her head up to aid him in the pleas.
"Pretty please, please, please! I can keep going it it's working! Please pretty please!" Sammy shouted repeatedly.
"Stop!" The pilot shouted, ironically she had had enough of someone else repeating themself.
"We're not going back, the idea is to avoid threats." The pilot said as Kenji groaned.
"Yea well not when those you love are in danger, my friend Ali said we shouldn't hesitate to take a risk to protect the ones we hold dear." Kenji said firmly.
The woman was taken back a bit, she didn't figure out which kid was Ali but...for a teenager to think like that was something you didn't see everyday.
She shook her head to get rid of the thought.
"Your friend...is an idiot, people turn on people everyday anyways, this world only runs on money and greed, the people who designed this disaster of a place are perfect examples of that, we're not gonna go towards danger just to save your friends, they're goners." The pilot said coldly.
Sammy whimpered as she began tearing up a bit.
"What did you say!?" Kenji shouted with an irate glare at the back of the pilot's seat.
"Uh guys, you might wanna look outside." Ben spoke up.
As they did that, Kenji and Sammy immediately gasped as they realized Pteranodons flying outside of the chopper.
The pilot noticed them aswell as she gasped too and almost jerked the chopper to the left.
It was an entire flock going after them, she pressed forward to accelerate faster.
The effort was futile as one of the Pteranodons flew up to the helicopter and struck it's landing gear.
The mercenary grunted as she tried to keep the chopper steady.
Another Pteranodon slammed into the chopper's window, this caused Sammy to fall onto Kenji as they all jerked around.
Another Pteranodon attacks the back propeller.
"Turn off the lights!" Ben exclaimed.
"Are you crazy?" The pilot shouted back.
Sammy whimpered into Kenji's chest as he took a deep breath.
"Pteranodons are attracted to bright lights! Ugh, first Ali now I sound like Darius! I hate being on this side of the argumen-ack!" Kenji exclaimed as the chopper was struck again causing them all to lurch.
"Trust me, I've got up close experience with this sorta thing...real up close." Ben informed her.
The pilot looked at Ben, the determination in his eyes were uncharacteristic for someone his age.
'What's with these kids?' The woman mentally questioned, these kids had seasoned minds for no apparent reason.
After a small staredown the pilot finally took the lights off.
They all listened as the Pteranodon cries died out.
They still wore fearful expression even as it began getting quiet.
Suddenly the flock flew ahead of the helicopter with loud cries, they had seemingly lost their target.
The pilot was shocked to say the least but she was happy to be alive.
"It worked! How long have you kids been out here?" She questioned.
"Um, well...when did they evacuate Jurassic World?" Sammy questioned her.
"Um, I guess about six months ago." She responded causing them to gasp.
"It's really been that long..." Kenji said in shock.
"So, Ben and Darius' birthdays already passed then." Sammy remembered.
"Hm, guess I didn't notice that when we were always running for our lives you know." Ben said with a shrug.
"Sorry, but happy belated Ben!" Sammy shouted as he smiled at her.
"Thank you Sammy." Ben said with a small smile.
"Happy belated bro...but we missed so much, Christmas, Thanksgiving, all of that happened while we were on the island, this is crazy." Kenji said as they were still in shock.
"So...that explains why you kids are the way you are." The pilot said quietly.
"Well, I'm sorry I doubted you guys." She apologized.
Kenji was still mad about her leaving their friends.
"Apology not-ack!" Kenji groaned as Sammy elbowed him.
"So wait, what day is today exactly?" Sammy questioned the pilot.
"February 3rd, why?" She asked Sammy.
Sammy gasped loudly as she shook Kenji.
"That means your birthday is in two days Kenj!" She exclaimed.
"Wow, would you look at that...too bad I can-look out!" Kenji shouted as he noticed a Brachiosaurus raising it's head into the way of the chopper.
The pilot turned around as she noticed the saurapod, which caused her to yell and try to evade it.
She was able to avoid it but this caused the chopper to spin out of control into some trees.
They all shrieked in terror as the chopper crashed into the trees with a loud thud, it was totaled in the process.
Ground Team
They all ran through the jungle, they were all going fast in order to get to Wu's lab before him.
Yasmina and Ali were still sprinting without even so much as a heavy breath.
Brooklynn and Darius weren't fairing so well.
"Yas...Ali slow down...not all of us are elite athletes." Brooklynn breathed out.
"Hey slow pokes..." Yasmina began as she stopped along with Ali.
"We've got a problem." Yasmina finished.
"Oh isn't that just convenient." Ali said as Brooklynn and Darius ran up behind them with heavy breaths.
The entrance to the lab was blocked by debris that had been scattered by the storm.
"More debris fell down in the storm." Yasmina deducted.
"Let's get to work." Darius stated as he regained his breath.
"This is gonna slow us down...but if we move quick we can keep our advantage on those creeps." Ali said as they all began moving debris from the door.
As they all steadily removed small things they heard voices coming towards them.
"Okay, we're out of time, hide." Ali urged them as they frantically ran over to a fallen tree and hid.
They peeked out to see Wu and his mercenaries approach the lab.
"There...you'll need to clear the entrance." Wu ordered them.
"Not hearing a we in there doc, you plan on helping?" Hawkes questioned him.
The blank stare Wu gave him was a good enough answer, he was surely not helping.
Hawkes frowned as he turned around with his mercenaries to go do their jobs.
He then stopped as he noticed something off, there was debris scattered almost in an organized pattern.
It puzzled him for a second but he ultimately got over it and walked over to his team.
The campers all let out breaths they didn't know they were holding in.
"We have to be careful, that guy is way too observant." Ali said as he looked at the others.
"Right...there's gotta be a way to get in without them seeing us." Darius said as they all thought it over.
"Um, there are tunnels down there, but I only remember one door in to the lab." Brooklynn informed them.
"She's right...but there is a vent." Yasmina said in a hushed tone as Brooklynn gasped in realization.
"Big enough to climb through?" Darius questioned her.
"Frozen flowers, they froze up here because they were covering the vent to the tunnels." Brooklynn whispered as she crouched in front of them.
"You guys learned all of this on that girl adventure? Wow, guess it wasn't that dumb after all." Ali apologized with a shrug.
"Apology accepted." Brooklynn said with a smirk as she began sneaking over to the jungle.
"Look everywhere, we can still get to the laptop before them." Darius whispers as he followed after Brooklynn.
Yasmina nods as she was about to follow as well.
She stopped as she noticed Ali was still looking at the mercenaries and Wu, his glare hardened for some reason.
"Ali...let's go." She whispered and pulled his arm as the allstar huskily followed her.
Air Team
The campers had been knocked on conscious as the chopper hung in the tree, completely destroyed.
Kenji was the first to stir, his head was ringing.
"What the hell happ-" Kenji cuts his own sentence off as he gasped in realization.
The helicopter was stuck in a tall tree as it hung upside down.
He tried to calm himself down, one false move and it could fall and they would all be dead.
'Dead...the pilot what happened to her?' Kenji mentally stated as he carefully looked into the cockpit.
He gasped loudly as he noticed the corpse of the pilot, this was the second death he noticed in one night.
Kenji was having a small panick attack but he couldn't let the fear take control.
He had to get Sammy and Ben awake, and find a safe way to the ground.
With one deep breath, he nudged Sammy after mentally preparing himself.
"Sammy! Sammy! Get up!" The cowgirl was knocked out cold, she was not getting up.
Kenji decided that the effort was futile, so he unbuckled his seatbelt.
That was almost a fatal mistake, as he fell with a small yelp, fortunately he grabbed onto a beam to stop himself from falling to his demise.
Kenji then sat on the rail of the chopper as he reached out for a vine.
He immediately pulled back as the helicopter jerked and creaked.
Kenji then looked up as he noticed Sammy had stirred awake.
She whimpered as she realized the predicament they were in.
Ben woke up with a start as well, as he jerked around.
"Wait Ben st-ack!" Kenji shouted out as the destroyed chopper fell slightly but fortunately not all the way to the ground.
Kenji's eyes widened as he slipped off the platform and almost fell out of the chopper.
Thankfully he was caught by none other than his girlfriend, Sammy.
He looked up at her strained face, as she pulled him back up.
As they both laid on the platform Kenji hugged Sammy tightly.
"Thank you." He said sincerely as they tried to regain their breaths.
"What happened to the pilot?" She questioned.
"She's...gone." Kenji said it slowly as Sammy gasped in terror.
Ben was still in his seat as he tried to reach a vine with his leg.
Kenji and Sammy noticed this as they wore wary expressions.
"Careful Ben." Sammy chastised.
As Ben made a sudden movement and grabbed the vine the chopper fell again, causing Kenji to look down in fear.
They were getting closer to the ground each time.
Ben breathed raggedly as he brought the vine down to Kenji and Sammy as they all held onto it together.
"Now we just have to..." Ben trailed off.
"Don't say it." Kenji pleaded.
"Jump." Ben said it anyways as Kenji groaned.
"I'm starting to see why Ali is afraid of heights now." Sammy said shakily.
The helicopter lurched again as they looked up at the back if the helicopter as it ripped through the last of the vines.
"No choice now!" Kenji shouted as they all leaped out of the helicopter right as it fell all the way to the floor.
The chopper exploded upon contact with the ground.
The campers were safely on the vine as they breathed heavily.
Kenji laughed joyously. "We're alive! We're really alive!" He shouted.
Lightning struck causing him to yelp.
"Well that was manly." Ben stated with a deadpan.
Ground Team
They were all in a clearing as they searched around for the vent the girls had discovered.
"Guys..." They were alerted to Yas' voice, she had found the vent.
Ali opened the vent as the others jumped in first.
He jumped in after as he pulled the vent cover back over just in case.
Unfortunately Hawkes and his men had finally got the door open.
"Stay here and keep watch." Hawkes spoke to his men.
Wu noticed giant clawmarks on the door.
"We may need a little extra protection inside." He told Hawkes.
"Reed you're with us." Hawkes said as he called the caucasian man over.
The African-American mercenary would have to be lookout.
"The doctor here, is afraid of his own creations." Hawkes said as he shared a laugh with Reed.
They followed Wu into the building as they used their flashlights to see.
Darius led the others through the vents as they tried their best to stay quiet.
As they got to the end of it, they pushed the vent cover out and ran into the room.
They all searched frantically for the laptop.
Unfortunately they couldn't find it anywhere.
"It's not in here." Darius said urgently.
"We're running out of time." Ali said with just as much urgency, as if on que they heard foot steps approaching the room.
Yasmina runs out to check it out, she noticed the mercenaries' flashlights.
"Guys.." She said in a hushed tone.
The others continued to search but even faster.
Brooklynn gasped as she noticed the laptop, it was covered by papers.
She ran over to it and picked it up swiftly.
"Found it!" She exclaimed in a hushed tone.
"Great, now let's go before those bastards get here." Ali said as Darius and Yasmina and himself entered the vent.
Brooklynn entered right after Ali, but they all stayed still rather than crawling, they would surely be heard.
Suddenly a light is shined into the vent, by Hawkes ofcourse.
They all tried their best to stay out of it and be quiet.
Brooklynn was the closest as she shut her eyes tightly.
Before he could investigate further a Compy ran and leaped at him with a screech, effectively distracting him.
The Compy simply ran out of the room as Wu deadpanned and entered it.
The campers were relieved as Hawkes moved away from the vent.
Wu gasped loudly as he noticed the Scorpious Rex chamber, it was destroyed, he knew he definitely froze it.
"Lemme guess, something's supposed to be in there." Hawkes said flatly.
"The Scorpious Rex, if it's escaped we need to accelerate our time table." Wu said urgently as he moved away from the chamber.
Reed was about to touch a quill that had been sticking out of the wall.
"Don't touch that!" Wu shouted as
Reed pulled his hand back swiftly.
"The Scorpious Rex has poisonus quills, like it's namesake, the scorpion fish." Wu informed them.
"Hm, I'm guessing the boss would be very interested in something like this Scorpious." Hawkes said as they walked fully away from the vent.
"It turned out to be too unstable, but I can perfect it, if I could just find my laptop!" Wu shouted angrily.
"It should be here!" Wu exclaimed as he was growing impatient.
"That laptop had years of my research on it, without it, what would take months would take years! So if you don't want Mills to have your head, help me look." Wu said in an irate tone.
"You sure this is where you left it?" Hawkes questioned.
"Yes! I...I think so." Wu huffed.
"Very well, we'll check the other labs." Wu said as he exited the room, the mercenaries followed.
"Let's go." Ali whispered as they began crawling behind him.
They were however not careful enough, their movements were too loud as the men below the vents easily heard them.
They all stopped and looked up at the vents suspiciously.
The campers were still moving steadily through the vents.
"This Mills guy that Wu's working for wants him to make monsters." Darius said with disgust lacing his words.
"We have to do whatever it takes to keep it away from him." Brooklynn said with a determined gaze.
"This situation is getting out of proportion now, but we'll put a stop to it all, we're almost there guys." Ali said as they all smiled and nodded.
Team Kenji
They all climbed down the vine as Sammy was the last to come down.
The Texan almost fell but fortunately Kenji caught her as she blushed a bit.
"Sorry about that Kenj." Sammy said with a sheepish smile.
"It's okay Sammy, I'm just glad we're alright." Kenji said as he hugged her.
"Bleh! Don't make me die now from the cringe of your love." Ben said with a fake gag.
"Sorry about that Ben." Sammy said with a chuckle as she separated from Kenji.
"I'll feel even better once I know everyone else is alive too." Kenji stated.
"Let's head back to the docks, if they got away from the T Rex they'll probably head to the boat." Ben said as he began walking to the boat.
"Don't say if..." Kenji said as Sammy held his hand.
"They're fine, I know they are." Sammy said as they began following Ben.
Team Darius
Ali pushed the vent out with his left hand, his right arm was still tweaking him a bit but he was ignoring the pain.
He climbed out, followed by Yasmina and Darius.
Brooklynn was the last to climb up as she huffed in exasperation.
Before she could climb up she suddenly felt a pull on her leg causing her to yelp loudly.
"Brooklynn!" Ali shouted as he immediately ran over to the vent followed by Yasmina and Darius.
They all noticed Hawkes holding onto her leg as they wore wary expressions.
"Well, who do we have here?" He asked sinisterly.
The others tried to pull the vent covering up but it was futile.
"Let her go you bastard!" Ali shouted at him.
Hawkes chuckled at him. "Why would I do that?" Hawkes questioned.
Suddenly they heard voices as they looked over to the lab entrance to notice the other two mercenaries coming their way.
"They're coming!" Yasmina shouted.
Darius looked at Brooklynn with fear evident in his eyes, he wanted to help her but there simply was no way to help.
"Come on!" Ali shouted.
Brooklynn then pushed the laptop through the vents as she looked at Darius with a determined gaze.
"You guys have to go!" She shouted as Darius took the laptop from her.
He was conflicted, try and save the girl he loved and risk his own life plus those of his friends or run away and leave Brooklynn all alone.
This entire decision just wasn't fair to him.
"No way! I'm not leaving you!" Ali shouted at Brooklynn as he strained.
"Whatever it takes." Was Brooklynn's cryptic response as they looked at her with wide eyes.
Then with a final scream, Brooklynn let go of the vent cover and fell into enemy hands.
"No!" Ali shouted as his voice echoed throughout the jungle.
Darius was on the verge of crying, this situation just took a huge turn.
Yasmina sniffled as she latched onto Ali with a huge hug.
What would they do now?
