Kash's Facility, Night Time
The camp fam was posted outside of Kash's facility as they hid behind the jungle's fooliage to stake out the building.
They all tried to stay as quiet as possible whilst staking out the building.
This was Ali's idea, he knew they had to stick close but not too close go ensure Darius' safety.
"Ali, we still don't know what Kash's next move is, or why he wants to control those dinosaurs." Brooklynn said from the allstar's right as Ali nodded.
"I know, that's why we're doing this, we can't help D if we don't know what Kash's motive is." Ali agreed.
"Um, I know his motive!" Kenji yelled a bit too loudly as Sammy shushed him.
"Are you trying to get us caught?" Yasmina questioned him as he chuckled nervously before continuing.
"Come on guys, Kash is a total psycho, and the longer Darius is with him, the more danger he's in." Kenji said as they all turned to the building once more.
They all hated to admit it but...that was simply the truth.
"You're right Kenji, but we have no choice, let's just wait for D to show up and report his info." Ali said as he tried to hold conviction in his tone.
Later on, Ali had now sat beside a tree as he watched the rest of the group who had fallen asleep...all except one of course.
Sammy was sleeping on Kenji's stomach and the former was fast a sleep on the floor.
Ben too had succumb to sleep, as he used the sleeping Brooklynn as his pillow.
The reason the Allstar had not fell asleep was because he was too busy overthinking about Darius...it was bad enough he was behind enemy lines in the hands of a madman...but he was also late to their designated rendezvous time.
"Hey." Ali almost jumped at the voice as he swiftly turned to realize it was just his girlfriend returning from a bathroom break.
"Woah, take it easy, I'm not gonna hurt you." Yasmina said with a chuckle as she sat down next to Ali and scooted into his arms.
"Nah, you didn't really startle me it's just...a lot's on my mind right now ya know?" Ali questioned her as she looked up at him sincerely.
"So, talk about it, I may not be the best when it comes to emotional support, but you know I'll always try for you." Yasmina said as she nuzzled her head back into his chest.
Ali smiled fondly at her as he wrapped his arms tighter.
"That's why I love you Yas." He said as Yasmina smiled unconciously, she loved hearing him say that so much.
"So, what's eating at you?" Yasmina questioned him after a short silence.
"It's Darius...I don't like this idea at all, that Kash dude seems really unstable, what if he finds out Darius is lying? He could...hurt him or worse-" Yasmina cuts Ali off.
"Ali, look at me." She said firmly as she sat up and grasped his face.
She quickly took in all the worry his brown orbs displayed.
"Darius is going to be okay, he's little but he's smart and tougher than he looks, just have some faith in him, come on." Yasmina said as she placed her hand on Ali's left chest.
"Where's that ever so confident Allstar I fell in love with?" Yasmina questioned as Ali's eyes widened slightly.
"Right here, where I always am." Ali said as he touched Yasmina's upper left breast.
The two shared warm smiles as their faces heated up.
"There's my Allstar." Yasmina said as they both began leaning in for a kiss.
However, right as they were about to kiss a giant explosion ensued causing them to be startled and separate.
The explosion in turn also woke up the rest of the group as everyone turned to the direction of the explosion...ofcourse it came from Kash's facility.
"Oh no!" Sammy exclaimed quietly as they noticed Darius fall to the ground due to the explosion.
"Darius!" Brooklynn shouted out as she instinctively tried to run out to go help the dino nerd.
Ben swiftly grabbed her and stopped her from making a brash decision that could jeopardize their cover.
"What the hell is that?" Ali questioned as they all watched a giant, black bipedal robot with the head of a more lethal looking BRAD and a set of sharp teeth.
"I don't know, but shouldn't we be helping Darius right about now?" Sammy questioned as they watched Darius back away from the robot in fear.
"I wouldn't suggest that..." Yasmina said as she gestured to Kash who was walking up to Darius and the menacing bot.
They all watched tensely as Kash was giving Darius a scowl.
"I see you've found your new babysitter, or rather, it's found you." Kash said with a smirk as Darius looked up at him in fear.
"It's part of my new fleet of upgraded models, I call it...BRAD-X!" The madman declared as Darius nervously stood up when he realized the droid wasn't going to kill him.
"After you randomly disappeared, it seemed like a good time to take this baby for a spin, btw...what are you doing out here?" Kash questioned as his once smug demeanor became a more menacing one.
The camp fam, still hidden behind the trees, all tensed as they watched Darius think of a way to cover his tracks, it would appear that at any moment they'd have to jump in...
"Honestly, I've been cooped up all day, I'm bored...can't a kid go for a walk sometimes?" Darius questioned Kash with a feigned expression of sorrow.
Kash dawned an unimpressed gaze as he slung the golf club he had in his hand over his shoulders.
"Sure you can." The madman said, surprising the hidden campers who smirked at his stupidity.
"And from now on, BRAD-X will be right there with you." Kash continued as the camp fam visibly deflated, should've seen that coming.
Darius almost deflated as well but...he was honestly happy the BRAD-X wasn't about to barbecue him.
"Oh and, if you get any bright ideas..." Kash trailed of as he began striking the BRAD-X with the club repeatedly, not even putting a small scratch in the machine.
After finishing his onslaught, Kash stopped to catch his breath...and Darius watched as the robot never budged.
Kash then threw the club at Darius' feet...it was once in tact, now it was just a bent heap.
"This new model's virtually indestructible, just so you'll be safeee." Kash said smugly as he drug out the last word and turned to enter his facility again.
Darius watched him disappear into the building before refocusing on the BRAD-X.
The camp fam watched as Darius began walking back into the facility...followed by his new babysitter.
They were all watching him with sorrow gazes until he turned around and threw up 6 of his fingers.
"6? What the..." Ben trailed off as they all narrowed their eyes in confusion.
"What the hell does that mean?" Kenji questioned the group.
"No idea, but it has to be important." Brooklynn deducted.
"You're right Brook, whatever Darius meant just now has to do with Kash's major plan, we need to figure out what D knows." Ali said as everyone nodded.
"We can't stay out here forever though, it's getting late, let's had back to Mae and regroup." Yasmina said as evergone agreed and they did just that.
The Cave, Morning Time
The Sun had just risen as the camp fam all sat around the still injured Mae.
They explained what happened the night prior with the BRAD-X and Darius.
"That coward! He set a robot loose on a child!" Mae shouted in disbelief as she groaned from her injuries.
"Easy Mae, trust me, we're upset about it too, but you don't wanna upset those injuries." Brooklynn said as she steadied Mae.
"That thing was no joke, Kash went to town on it with a golf club and couldn't even put a scratch in it." Kenji said solemnly.
"Just because it's tough on the outside, doesn't mean it's tough on the inside too." Sammy said from besides him.
"Sammy's right...it's a robot, it has to have a shutoff point or a means to rewire it to be on our side instead, what do you think Brook? You're the techie here." Ali said with a smirk as Brooklynn smiled at him.
"That could actually work, I like this plan." Brooklynn said as she walked up to him.
"So if we can find a BRAD-X, we can swap it out for Darius' after Brooklynn hacks it!" Yasmina exclaimed as the group beamed at the idea.
Brooklynn then began panicking...she didn't know the plan would involve HER being the one to hack the BRAD-X.
"Yes! We'd have a way to communicate with Darius!" Ben exclaimed as everyone smiled at Brooklynn, she didn't know what to say about all the praise.
"Wow Brooklynn, is there anything you can't do?" Mae questioned the pinkette who blushed at the compliment, both because it was nice and because she was still nervous.
"Nope, there isn't a thing the headstrong Queen of the Brooklanders can't do." Ali said as he pulled her into a side hug.
The Superstar brushed her hair to the side and chuckled shakily, this was beginning to seem like a lot of pressure...she had to hack that robot...there was no room for effort or letting everyone down.
"Don't you guys think you're gassing her head?" Kenji questioned smugly as they all shook their heads at him.
Brooklynn however, silently agreed with Kenji...she wasn't sure of her own abilities.
"Hater." Yasmina said with a deadpan as the rich boy stuck his tongue at her.
"Well guys, um, there's a slight problem." Brooklynn began softly as they all arched a brow at her.
"Whattt? You're joshin, we've seen all of your videos! You've got skills Brooklynn! Remember when you Unboxed Silicon valley? AI: Is it our future or our destruction." Sammy reminded the pinkette who chuckled at the memory of the video.
"My personal favorite is when she unboxed Cape Canaveral and built and coded her own rocket!" Kenji shouted gleefully as everyone turned to him with an arched brow.
"I thought you said you never watched Brooklynn's videos...?" Yasmina questioned as he scratched the back of his head.
"Anyways..." Ali began as he shook his head at Kenji.
"They're right B, you got tech abilities that'll make James Bond jealous, we know you got this, this robot ain't got shi..." Ali trailed off as he noticed the glares he was receiving from Sammy and Mae.
The Allstar then cleared his throat before continuing again.
"This robot ain't got...stuff, on you, right, anyways, you ready for this Brook?" Ali questioned her as she looked down in thought.
She then looked up at the group with a smirk.
"Let's do this." Brooklynn declared as everyone cheered loudly, it was time to go hack a BRAD-X.
Jungle, Later
The group was trailing a BRAD-X that was patrolling the jungle biome.
They were hidden behind a bolder as Ali held a small rock in his hand.
He turned to the others who were holding a vine which was attached to a giant tree log that they had slung up in a tree...poised for any unsuspecting BRAD-X, it was not this bot's lucky day.
Ali then throws the rock at the BRAD-X.
The machine's eyes went from it's normal white, to a flashing red as it turned to the direction the rock came from.
The BRAD-X then scanned the area...nothing came up, so it decided to go investigate the old fashioned way.
Ali turned to the camp fam as he gestured for them to wait...the machine was almost in the position they needed.
Right as the BRAD-X got under the log, Ali narrowed his eyes and signaled for the others to drop the log.
The heavy log came down with such great force it immediately dropped the robot to the ground and caused it to shut off.
Or so they thought...because right as they were about to go out and begin the plan to hack the robot, the BRAD-X stood up swiftly and threw the log off in the process.
The entire group gasped as they hid from the bot, the latter began to scan the area.
When the BRAD-X realized there was no apparent threat...it simply picked up two metal BRAD parts and began walking away.
"Well...that went well." Ben said as Ali sighed.
"It's okay, the plan was a good one." Yasmina said as she patted Ali's back, the latter nodding at her.
"Let's follow it, I wanna know where it's taking those parts." The Allstar declared as they cautiously trailed the BRAD-X.
As the BRAD-X came to a stop, they notice it walk into a warehouse.
"Uh, something tells me we shouldn't be going in there." Sammy said warily.
"Which means we're obviously going to be going in there, huh?" Kenji questioned flatly.
"Yup." Yasmina responded curtly.
"Come on, we don't have a choice." Brooklynn said as the group began running to the warehouse doors.
The 6 teens quietly entered the warehouse as they hid behind a storage bin.
Ali and Brooklynn then poked their heads out as they watched the BRAD-X put the dismantled BRAD parts onto an operating table of sorts.
The machine then left the warehouse...much to their confusion.
"What the hell?" Ali questioned to himself as the entire group walked up to the table.
"What is this place?" Ben questioned as they noticed all the disregarded BRAD parts.
Sammy then gasped loudly as she felt a hand touch her shoulder, fortunately it was only Kenji.
"Shh, look." Kenji said as he directed the entire group's attention to a BRAD who was rounding the corner of a hallway into the storage they were in.
They all swiftly leaped into hiding as the droid walked through the storage huskily.
Ali then crawled over to another bin as he noticed the BRAD began working on an almost complete BRAD-X model.
"Guys...this is a workshop for the BRAD-X'...they're using BRAD parts to create these things." Ali revealed to the group as they all gasped at the news.
They all knew the BRADs were expendable to Kash...so making more BRAD-Xes would not be difficult.
"Greatttt, a robot that builds other robots." Kenji said flatly as the BRAD finished it's work on the BRAD-X, which was now mobile.
"Look out!" Sammy shouted in a hushed tone as the group, minus Ali and Brooklynn who were hidden behind the other bin, moved to ensure the new BRAD-X didn't see them.
They all watched as the new machine left the warehouse.
Brooklynn then began backing up as she inadvertently backed up into the regular BRAD.
She gasped as she turned around and covered her face in fear.
Ali turned to see this as his eyes widened in terror as the bot brandished it's drill and seemingly moved towards Brooklynn.
He was about to shout out but...when the machine completely ignored Brooklynn and began working on the other BRAD-Xes they were both confused.
"Uh...okay?" Ali questioned as he helped Brooklynn to her feet.
"He must be programmed to only build BRAD-Xes and not for lethal force." Brooklynn said as they began walking back to the others.
"If I can get into one of the BRAD-Xes before he programs them to be evil, I can make one of them do whatever we say." The Pinkette explained as they came upon the others.
She began rutting through a toolbox she had found.
"These damn robots...you know, I kinda miss the days when killer DINOSAURS were ALL we had to worry about." Kenji said as he crossed his arms and pouted, Sammy rubbed his back to console him.
"Tell me about it." Yasmina said as she rested an elbow on Ali's shoulder.
"Yes! This is perfect!" Brooklynn exclaimed as she brandished a screw driver.
"Nice work Brook, Yasmina, Ben you guys go check on Darius." Ali began as they nodded and went off to do their tasks.
"Kenji, Samster, you two go keep watch for any BRADs or BRAD-Xes." The Allstar finished as the two got up to do just that.
"Come on Brooklynn." Ali said as they ran up to a turned off BRAD-X and Brooklynn began trying to open the hatch on it's leg.
The pinkette tried her hardest to maintain concentration...but Ali simply staring at her silently waiting for her to be done felt...scrutinizing for some reason.
"Okay, total side note but...I've actually never done anything like this before." Brooklynn randomly said as Ali gave her a dumbfounded look.
"Wait what? Why did you...nevermind, you got this Brooklynn, just relax, you'll get it." Ali tried to calm her as she took a deep breath and finally got the hatch off.
"Woah." Ali said as he whistled at the vast amount of hardwiring in the hatch.
"Seriously?" Brooklynn questioned as she glared at him.
"Okay, that's on me, I'll just look this way." Ali said as he turned to the side and Brooklynn sighed before continuing.
'What am I gonna do...?' She mentally questioned as she began shakily trying to decipher which wire was which.
Later on...only about 10 minutes had passed, but to Brooklynn who had been struggling with the wires, it felt like 10 decades.
The pinkette then decided to make a brash decision as she connected the gray wire to the red one swiftly causing a small spark.
Ali's head snapped to her and the BRAD-X as he heard the spark and her gasp.
"Brook...you got it." He said with a smile pulling at his face.
"You actually did it!" Ali exclaimed quietly as he hugged her, which she returned swiftly.
Their celebration was cut off as the BRAD-X began malfunctioning and firing electric rounds wildly.
"Look out!" Brooklynn shouted as they tried to avoid the wild shots.
They then got to hid behind the storage bin as the shots finally ceased and the malfunctioning robot fell to the ground with a thud.
Both teens breathed heavily as Ali looked at Brooklynn, the latter was looking down solemnly.
'Darius needs us...needs me, and I can't even hack this stupid robot with his life on the line...I'm pathetic.' The pinkette mentally berated herself.
"B..." Ali trailed off as Brooklynn slammed into his chest with a firm hug.
He felt her try to bite back her sobs...which eventually came out anyways...she couldn't control it anymore, the stress had practically forced her tears to come out now.
"Shh, Brook, it's okay..." Ali said as he returned the hug and rubbed her faded pink tresses softly.
"I...I thought I had it Ali." She said as he voice hitched.
"Guys..." They both heard Ben's voice say as he along with the others had came back, they witnessed the hack fail.
Brooklynn separated from Ali as she quickly wiped her tears away.
"I don't mean to add on to the bad news but, Kash is making Darius inject the Spinosaurus with his prototype control chip." Ben informed them as their eyes widened.
"What? Is he insane?" Ali questioned loudly as he clenched his fists.
"The Spino will kill him, you saw how nasty that thing was." Yasmina reminded the group.
"And if he doesn't do it...the BRAD-X has orders to...to kill Darius." Ben revealed as Brooklynn felt her heart sink to the button of her stomach.
She began sweating profusely as it felt like it was harder and harder to breathe in this warehouse...kill...Darius? Kash wouldn't...yes he would, and she knew it.
"B, you gotta swap out the BRAD-X like...now, how close are you?" Kenji questioned Brooklynn as she broke out of her panic trance.
"I...I..." The pinkette couldn't find her words, she suddenly feels Ali put his hands on her shoulders.
"Brook, look, you have to relax, you can do thi-" Ali is cutoff as Brooklynn shook her head.
"I can't do this!" She shouted, her voice cracking, the entire group was stunned to say the least.
"I just...can't!" The Pinkette shouted again before taking Ali's hands off her shoulders and walking away from the group.
They all watched with solemn expressions as Brooklynn sat on the floor and hugged her knees to her chest.
"This isn't one of my videos..." She began, her voice so weak...it almost wasn't recognizable.
"This is real life." Brooklynn finished meekly.
"But, your videos were real." Sammy said firmly, as Brooklynn still had her back to them.
"Yea...eventually, after about a hundred out takes and mistakes! That AI coding was wayyy over my head! The rocket I coded kept blowing up! I'm not...perfect." Brooklynn revealed to them as they all looked down at the floor.
"Darius needs us now, we just don't have time for all my mess ups." She finished solemnly.
"So what? You're just gonna sit there and give up? Sounds like someone forgot who she is." Ali saif with a smirk as Brooklynn looked up at him with tear filled eyes.
"None of us are perfect Brook, that's not why we chose you to do the hacking, we chose you because we believe in you..." Yasmina spoke up.
"Yea and none of us even stood a chance." Ben added as Yasmina smacked him in the head swiftly causing him to yelp and rub his head.
"Anyways, Brooklynn, you can't just give up now, we've come all this way, Darius needs us." Ali said as Brooklynn stood up.
He noticed she was getting some of her fire back but...it wasn't there yet.
"I'm out of ideas G, I've tried every BRAD-X in here..." She trailed off before zoning in one the BRAD.
"But not every BRAD..." The pinkette said with a smirk.
"There she is..." Ali said as he noticed Brooklynn's fire had returned to those ever so bright green orbs.
"Guys...catch that BRAD." Brooklynn said as they all nodded.
Ali and Yasmina snuck up on the BRAD as they swiftly pinned it to the ground.
They both groaned as the robot struggled and tried to get out of their grasp.
"Hurry!" Yasmina shouted as she held it's head down.
"This thing is stronger than it looks!" Ali shouted as he held it's body ad arms down.
"And it has weird joint movements!" Kenji shouted as he and Sammy subdued the robot's backside.
Ben kneeled next to Brooklynn who had opened the BRAD's hatch.
"Hypothetically, the older model should be easier to hack, and we know it can send commands so..." Brooklynn trailed off as Ben lit up.
"We can use this BRAD to control Darius' BRAD-X to listen to him!" Ben deducted as Brooklynn nodded.
"Good job Brook! Now do you mind hurrying this up!" Ali shouted as he felt his grip on the droid slipping.
"Okay, I'll work fast, just keep him steady guys." Brooklynn pleaded as they all nodded and continued to keep the bot down.
'I just pray to God Darius can hang in there long enough with that thing on his tail.' Brooklynn mentally stated as she tried to speed up her work.
As she worked, she couldn't stop her mind from roaming to Darius and the possibility of the Spinosaurus killing him.
After a short while the BRAD shut down as Brooklynn was now hacked into the main frame.
"I'm in!" Brooklynn exclaimed as everyone cheered.
"Now, let's help Darius." Ali said as they began moving on with the plan.
Darius
Darius honestly could not for the life of him understand how his life ever lead to this point.
Here he stood in front of a 50 foot predator that wanted to do nothing but have him for lunch.
All because he was under the creed of a madman...
"I guess this is it..." Darius trailed off as the Spinosaurus roared loudly and charged at him.
Suddenly a gas bomb is thrown at the Spinosaurus as a green cloud of gas plumed.
The beast roared in anguish as it fell to the ground unconciously.
"Woah!" Darius exclaimed from the impact the dinosaur caused just by collasping.
Darius breathed heavily as he looked at the unconcious Spinosaurus.
He then looked back at the BRAD-X who had been sent with him incredulously.
"So after all that...now you decide to help me?" Darius questioned it as the machine offered no answer, it simply gestured to the chip injector Kash had gave Darius, which had fell to the ground when the boy was relentlessly trying to escape the Spinosaurus.
Darius sighed as he picked up the injector and huskily walked over to the Spinosaurus.
He puts the weapon up to the Spinosaurus' jaw as he prepared to do the bad deed...
"I don't wanna do this...but I have to." Darius said to himself as he closed his eyes in anguish.
"Stop." Came a robotic voice, just as Darius was about to inject the chip into the unconcious dinosaur.
He was taken back by this, he turned to the BRAD-X in confusion.
"You don't have to do this." The droid said as it's eyes went from white to blue.
"Uh, I don't?" Darius questioned it.
"It's Brooklynn." Brooklynn revealed herself to be the one who hacked the bot as Darius gasped and ran up to it.
"No way!" He exclaimed.
"Long story short, I hacked a BRAD." Brooklynn explained.
"Wait...so why did you make me get so close to injecting the Spinosaurus?" Darius questioned with an arched brow.
"Yea...that was Ali, he didn't want to miss the opportunity." Brooklynn said with a chuckle as Darius deadpanned.
"Anyways, destroy the chip and I'll have this BRAD-X tell Kash you injected the Spino with it, he'll never know." Brooklynn finished as Darius shot the chip to the ground and stomped on it, effectively destroying it.
Team Brooklynn
They all watched as Darius destroyed the chip before turning back to the BRAD-X they were controlling.
"Brooklynn...I...I don't know what to say, thank you...you're amazing." Darius said with a sheepish smile as Brooklynn's face instantly dawned a red hue from the compliment.
She turned to Sammy and Yasmina who were giving her knowing looks.
"Ugh! They're gonna get all mushy now." Ben said as he feigned vomiting.
Ali and Kenji did a secret handshake, they were proud of Darius to say the least.
"Don't mention it, Darius, anything to keep you safe." Brooklynn finally replied.
Ali then walked up to Yasmina as the trackstar pulled him into a half hug, they both smiled at the scene before them.
"Guys! Listen up, I know what Kash is planning! He's working on a big showcase for Mantah Corp investors..." Darius began.
"Mantah Corp? This can't be good." Sammy said with venom lacing her tone.
"If we can figure out a way to mess it up..." Darius continued.
"We can put a stop to Kash's dino fights..." Brooklynn added.
"And finally put Mantah Corp to rest, permanently." Ali declared as he clenched his right fist.
The group began cheering as everyone minus Ali and Brooklynn exited the warehouse to head back to Mae.
"You did great today, Superstar." Ali said as he smiled at her.
"Wouldn't have done it if it wasn't for you always believing in me, Allstar, thanks for not giving up on me." Brooklynn said as she tightly hugged her brother in all things but blood.
"You know I never will." Ali said as they separated.
"Alright, well I think we should go before more BRAD-Xes come back...and we kinda have to help D lie to Kash so..." Brooklynn trailed off as she began exiting the building.
"I'll be right there, don't worry." Ali said as she nodded and left completely.
Ali then noticed the Mantah Corp logo plastered onto a wall in the warehouse.
His smile was replaced with a very deep frown.
Mantah Corp...those bastards hurt Sammy's family...hurt the dinosaurs...hurt Mae...and almost got Darius killed, they were going to pay...sooner or later.
Ali knew he could no longer stand by and let Mantah Corp keep getting away with their crimes.
As he walked towards the exit, his mind was plagued with nothing but the downfall of...Mantah Corp.
