The Compound
As the Sun shone down on the compound, the kids were all in the lounge area grabbing some food.
Ali sat on the couch as he once more watched his friends from a distance, it was nice that they all slept together last night and all woke up at different times this morning, but once more, that gnawing feeling of suspicion kept eating at his mind...he still couldn't eat.
He watched as Yasmina, Brooklynn and Darius prepared different plates of breakfast, his stomach longed for some sustenance, for he was starving for just as much time as them...but the uneasy feeling that still plagued him did not allow him to quench his appetite.
'I hope this goes away soon...I gotta find a way to eat something without my body rejecting it.' Ali mentally stated as he felt his stomach twist a bit, it had been almost 3 full days now without him eating so much as a morsel.
"Ah, what a beautiful day, the Sun is shinin, no dinosaurs are chasing us, and most importantly, breakfast is served!" Sammy exclaimed as Ali watched her run up to Yasmina with a plate of food.
"Feels weird to not have to worry about anything, for once." Yasmina responded to her best friend.
"Yea definitely, I myself am very relaxed." Darius said awkwardly.
"Oh yea, me too! I'm like...chiiiiiiilllllll." Brooklynn drug out in a strange way as she rested her elbow on Darius' shoulder.
Sammy and Yasmina both shared wary glances at eachother before walking away from the two younger teens.
"Yikes." Brooklynn said to herself.
"Yup, that was awkward." Darius added as they sighed.
"Do you think any of them realized yet?" Brooklynn questioned Darius as he nodded.
"I'm not sure, if they have they haven't said anything." Darius assured her as she huffed.
"Good, I don't want any of them to know what happened between us while they were asleep." Brooklynn said as Darius deflated a bit.
Was she embarrassed about what they did?
'Ofcourse she is, anyone would be embarrassed to share a moment like that with me.' Darius mentally stated.
"Hey Darius." He heard Brooklynn call his name.
"I enjoyed it." Brooklynn said as Darius' eyes widened.
"I'm gonna go eat on the couch." Brooklynn said as she left Darius there smiling like a fool.
The pinkette then sat herself down next to Ali.
She was taken back when the allstar damn near leaped out of the couch as she sat.
"Woah, what's up with you? Why so jumpy?" Brooklynn questioned Ali as he sighed.
"I don't know...thought something was up, my bad." Ali apologized as Brooklynn's eyes softened at him.
Something was up, but she didn't want to pry.
"Hey G, did you eat this morning?" Brooklynn questioned him as he looked at her with a pause.
"Uh, yea, I ate before you guys came in here." Ali flat out lied right to her face, now, there was no way for her to prove that wrong, Ali as always, was the first one up, so no one knew what he did or didn't do before they woke up.
However what she did not know, was that the allstar spent the first half an hour of his morning staring at his reflection in the mirror, the scars all over his body, some from Brooklyn, some from Nublar, but they were all a testament to his life and how much adversity he'd overcome to this point, yet here he was, weak, couldn't even eat like a puppy who had been struck with a sickness.
"Ali." Brooklynn called his name as he turned to her again, he kept zoning out.
"Can I tell you something?" The pinkette questioned him.
"Yes ofcourse Brook, anything." Ali assured her as she sighed.
"You have to promise you won't tell anyone else, okay?" Brooklynn questioned Ali as she offered him her pinkie.
"I promise." Ali stated firmly as they locked pinkie.
"Okay so last night, I couldn't sleep, I kept having nightmares, so I woke up and went to the bathroom, thankfully I didn't wake any of you because you guys are heavy sleepers, like really heavy, I don't know how we survived on Nublar like that, anyways, when I came back...Darius was awake...and long story short, one thing led to the other-" Ali cuts Brooklynn off with a gasp.
"Oh my God, details! Did he finally do it? Did you make the first move?" Ali questioned frantically.
"First move? And did he do what?" Brooklynn asked with an arched brow as Ali shook his head.
"Nevermind, continue the story." The allstar said with a deadpan.
"Right...anyways, so yea, long story short, we ended up cuddling and talking a little bit and falling asleep like that, thankfully no one noticed since we were at the edge of the bed." Brooklynn said altogether as Ali blinked incredulously at her now reddened face.
"So...you guys cuddled." Ali began as she nodded sheepishly.
"And didn't talk about eachother's feelings at all?" Ali questioned as she then shook her head.
"Nope." Brooklynn answered with a pop of her lips.
Ali did not answer her, he simply opted to facepalm, these people were ridiculous.
"Good morning everybody!" Kenji shouted as he arrived into the lounge with his arms wide in the air.
"Good morning." Everybody responded back simultaneously as Kenji ran over to Sammy.
"Oh come onnnn, where's the energy at team?!" Kenji shouted as he swiftly pecked Sammy and plopped one of her pieces of bacon into his mouth.
"I am suuuuper pumped today, get this, dad actually wants Karina's, AND ny help today." Kenji said as he went to fix his own plate.
Ali tensed at that a bit, sure they'd seemingly changed Daniel and Karina, something was still off about the two, and he just couldn't put his finger on it as he tightly gripped the couch cushion.
"Aww, it's so cute when you're happy Kenji, I love it." Sammy said as she walked up to him and pinched his cheeks.
"Yes, yes, this is all very lovely." Ali said as he stood up and made his way towards Kenji.
"So, has Mr. Kon made any allusions as to when we're gonna get to go home and ya know...see our families?" Ali questioned his friend.
"He said it'll only take a few days to arrange everything safely." Kenji said as he took a sip of coffee.
"Plus he's super focused on the presentation right now, you get it, right?" Kenji questioned Ali who furrowed his brow.
"No, I don't-" Ali cuts himself off as he noticed Yasmina clear her throat and give him a knowing look.
The allstar shook his head at Kenji before the former walked over to his girlfriend.
"Soooo." Darius began as Kenji sipped more of his coffee.
"Now that dino fights are off the table, what exactly is he presenting?" Darius questioned Kenji.
"I'm sure he's doing something super cool using Mae's communication, in fact, while he and my sister greet the buyers, he tasked me with prepping for the event, he said, and I quote, I'd rather you do it than those stupid robots." Kenji said as everyone else looked at him in confusion.
"Wow, how flattering that sounds." Ali said as he crossed his arms.
"Hey, has anyone seen Karina?" They all turned to the voice of Ben as the latter walked into the room.
"She's with my dad right now Ben, prepping for later, why?" Kenji questioned Ben as the latter scratched his head nervously.
"Nothing! It's just uh...she promised to talk to me today about making a Bumpy sculpture before helping Mr. Kon." Ben said as Kenji hummed at this.
"Dad probably needed her earlier, I wouldn't sweat my sister Ben, she'll come around." Kenji said as Ben sighed before going to get food.
"Hey Kenj, do you mind if I help you and your family with the preparations?" Sammy questioned her boyfriend as the latter scrambled.
"Sorry...dad's gotta get to know you before he'll trust you with something like this babe." Kenji said as Sammy's eyes widened in shock and hurt.
The others watched the exchange warily...that was harsh.
"Oh." Sammy said solemnly as she found the floor to be very interesting at the moment.
"Don't do that Sammy, I'm sorry, look." Kenji began as he lifted Sammy's head up by placing two fingers under her chin.
"After I'm done we can hang out together, I promise." Kenji said as Sammy smiled at him, that would make up for it.
"Ooooo! Like a date?" Darius questioned with a smirk as Kenji deadpanned.
"O-M-G! Their first date!" Brooklynn shouted as the entire group now surrounded Sammy and Kenji excitedly.
"Wow Kenj they're right...this could really be our first real date..." Sammy said with a large smile plastered on her face, which Kenji returned in surplus.
"Then it's settled! I'll go help my sis set up everything for my dad then we can meet here by Sundown." Kenji said as he pecked Sammy on her cheek before standing.
He then swiftly ran over to the sink to put his dishes away as Sammy smiled dreamily at his back...she was ecstatic to say the least.
"I never thought I'd see the day..." Ali said in complete disbelief.
"I know right? It feels so surreal that they're going on their first date." Brooklynn said in a longing tone.
'If only...' She mentally trailed off as she looked at Darius.
"Nah, not that." Ali began again as he cut Brooklynn's thoughts off.
"It's just crazy to see Kenji EXCITED about work...the dude's changed." Ali said with a shrug.
"Well we know who to thank for that." Yasmin said as she playfully punched Ali's shoulder.
"Hey, I didn't do thatttt much." Ali said as he rubbed the back of his head.
Everyone then turned as Sammy sighed dreamily and placed her head into her hands.
"Wow, she is in love." Darius said as Brooklynn bounded over the table to where Sammy was.
"This is soooooo cute! We have to get you ready for this date!" Brooklynn shouted as Sammy smiled at her.
Everyone took a moment to laugh at this, Brooklynn seemed more excited about the date than Sammy herself.
After the laughter died down for a bit Sammy then gained a wary expression.
"Guys...I'm real excited about this date and all but...what if Mr. Kon is just distracting Kenj and Karina just so he could sneak around and do shady stuff...I mean I know I should trust my boyfriend's father but-" Sammy is cutoff as Ben speaks up.
"Don't worry, we don't really trust him at all either." Yasmina said with a smirk as Sammy lit up slightly.
"Wait, for real?" Sammy questioned.
"Yup, we just didn't say anything because you know...Kenji." Yasmina admitted.
'So I'm not going crazy then...' Ali mentally assured himself.
"So you guys don't think I'm crazy?" Sammy questioned the group as Ali arched a brow.
'Is she in my thoughts...what the hell?' He mentally questioned as he watched the group express different forms of distrust in Daniel Kon.
"How about this, you, Ben and I can go see what Mr. Kon is actually doing...just as soon as-" Darius cuts himself off as they all notice Ben enter the room.
"Yes, Kon is definitelyyyyy not suspicious...I just saw him go into the jungles doing that shady movie villain face." Ben stated as they all tuned into him.
"I'll grab Firecracker and lowkey show you which way he went, follow me." Ben said as began walking off; the others never knew what to make of this boy.
"Who the hell even taught him what lowkey meant?" Ali questioned as the group turned to face eachother with chuckles.
"Okay it's settled then, come on Sammy." Darius stated as the Texan nodded and they began following after Ben.
"Good, I'm coming with." Ali announced as he walked forward, only for Darius to stop and give him a wary expression.
"Um, yeaaaa, I think you should sit this one out G." Darius stated as Ali arched a brow.
"What? Why? I'm good at recon and stealth? Why keep me here?" Ali questioned as Darius scratched the back of his head.
"Well yes that's true...but you also have a tendency to get ya know...aggro and a bit peeved when you want answers from someone you don't trust...so you know, wouldn't be the best idea to put you in a position to be face to face with Mr. Kon." Darius explained as Ali almost fumed at this.
"What the heck? I don't get aggro when I want answers...do I?" Ali questioned bitingly as he turned to Brooklynn and Yasmina.
"Welllll." Brooklynn droned out.
"Yes, the answer is yes." Yasmina stated, sure he was her boyfriend, but that doesn't mean she couldn't be honest with him.
"Yea sorry Ali, besides 3 is enough anyways, more people would make us more noticeable and shady going into the jungle." Darius said with a shrug as he turned and left the room.
Ali sighed as soon as Darius left before sitting on the couch irately.
Yasmina and Brooklynn then gave eachother wary expressions.
They both loved Ali, in different ways ofcourse, so seeing him like this, naturally they wanted to cheer him up.
"G, it's okay, you know we can still do something here to get your mind off everything, right?" Brooklynn questioned as Ali stood up with another sigh.
"Yea, you're in here with a trackstar and THE Superstar, we can definitely make this more fun." Yasmina said with a smile.
"How?" He questioned them.
"I have just the thing, you and Yas can be my mannequins!" Brooklynn shouted as Ali looked at her in confusion.
"Wait say what now?" Yasmina questioned, this wasn't part of the gameplan...
"No look, Kenji and Sammy aren't here right, but my date slash fashion adrenaline is rushing! Can you guys pleaseeee let me dress you up like you're going on a date?" Brooklynn questioned them as Yasmina's eyes softened...she was becoming more maternal by the day she swore...Brooklynn looked like a little kid here.
"Hell no." Ali responded cryptically as Brooklynn gasped at that and feigned solemness.
Yasmin then swiftly slapped her boyfriend's arm as he yelled out in pain.
"What's wrong with you?" She questioned in a hushed tone.
"What?" Ali questioned right back in the same tone as she shook her head.
"Brooklynn hun, we'll be your mannequins." Yasmina said as Brooklynn instantly lit up again.
"Really?" She questioned in an almost squeal as Yasmina nodded with a smile.
"Like hell we ar-mmph!" Ali's words are muffled as Yasmina slapped her hand onto his mouth.
"Yay! Thank you so much! This is so exciting!" Brooklynn shouted as she hugged Yasmina swiftly.
"Oh! Um, you're welcome Superstar." Yasmina said as she pats the pinkette's hair with her free hand.
She liked this, everyone has that one thing on the planet that makes them revert back into a kiddy, carefree state...for her it was sugar...for Brooklynn it was clearly fashion.
Brooklynn then released Yasmina before grabbing the tablet that controlled the BRADs and practically bounced on ger heels out of the room.
"Since when do you like Brooklynn's shenanigans?" Ali questioned his girlfriend when Brooklynn had been gone.
"Since when were you such a jerk?" Yasmina questioned him as he rolled his eyes.
"Why would you even agree to that anyways?" Ali questioned his girlfriend as she huffed at him, she wasn't going to answer such a stupid question.
"I'm not wearing whatever it is she's designing, ESPECIALLY if it's a suit." Ali said as he crossed his arms...Yasmina then gained a dangerous glint in her eyes...it was like a Shark when they sniffed out blood in the water.
"What?" She questioned her boyfriend.
"I said what I said, I'm not wea-ack!" Ali exclaimed as Yasmina roughly grabbed him by the shirt.
"You're gonna wear whatever she makes you and you're going to like it, and you're also going to stop being a jerk to your bestfriend AND your girlfriend, you got it?" Yasmina questioned him as he grumbled something at her.
"What was that?" She questioned him as Ali sighed.
"I said, yes ma'am." Ali stated as she lets him go.
"Good, now stop brooding and come help me do the dishes." Yasmina stated as she began walking to the sink.
"You should do them by your damn self..." Ali muttered to himself.
"What?" Yasmina questioned as she turned her head irately.
"I said coming, dear!" Ali shouted satirically as he walked over to the sink begrudgingly.
He didn't know if he was acting like this because he couldn't go on the recon mission...or if it was cause he hadn't eaten properly...or because he was simply upset at Kon...but he didn't care, he didn't owe anyone an explanation.
"Big baby." Yasmina said as they washed the dishes side by side.
Ali then stuck his tongue at her, he wasn't a baby, he was a man.
Jungle Biome
Inside of Daniel's notsosecret hideout, May was...against her will ofcourse, working profusely on her computer, the disgusting beast that was Kash, was in chair behind her doing the same.
Karina stood between them as she tasked to make sure they stayed on track while her father was away...though she was more so staring Kash down...
"Must you continue to watch over me like a hawk?" Kash questioned irately.
"Yes, I must, you tried to turn on us once, you've lost all trust, surely an idiot like you can understand something that simple." Karina said as she began surfing her tablet.
"I'll show you who's a idiot real soon..." Kash muttered with a scowl as he continued working.
"How is everything coming along?" They all turn to Daniel walking into the room.
"They're working great dad." Karina reassured her father as he nodded and walked up behind Mae.
He then looked over his shoulder to see that Karina was far too invested in her tablet to fully pay attention to him and Mae.
Mae could feel his eyes on her as he leaned down, putting his face besides her, she tensed so hard she almost caught a cramp.
"Is everything okay?" Daniel questioned as he wrapped his arm over her back and rested his palm on her bicep and began slowly gliding it across her arm.
Mae felt disgusting to say the least, this man was so raunted, she hated how comfortable he was with touching her without her permission.
"Please...don't touch m-ack!" Mae exclaimed quietly as Daniel squeezed her bicep very roughly and pressed his mouth directly into her ear...the woman's BPM had risen well above the standard it should be.
"Shhh, I didn't ask you about anything else...I want to know how your work is going." Daniel whispered into Mae's ear as she shuddered, she wanted nothing more than to get away from him at this point.
"It's...going well." She responded shakily as he smirked at her.
"Dad." Karina's voice called out as Daniel finally released Mae's arm...the latter letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding, it felt as though a serpent was latched onto her arm...and now it finally released her and allowed her to react...but alas, much like a venemous snake bite, the damage was already done...
"Yes my dear?" Daniel questioned Karina as his daughter presented the tablet to him.
"We have visitors." Karina relayed as the surveillance footage showed Sammy, Darius, Ben, and Firecracker making their way through the jungle biome.
Daniel almost fumed, these kids were so annoying already.
"Mae." He called the woman's name and she nearly jumped out of her seat at the tone in his voice.
"What?" Mae questioned before catching herself...
"I mean, yes sir." She corrected herself, if he hadn't struck fear in her already, Daniel was surely right at her breaking point.
"Get rid of them." He said coldly as he presented Karina's tablet to Mae.
Mae was very conflicted as she looked to Karina, who's gaze was as cold as her father's...even though she knew Karina to be a sweet child, she also knew Daniel had his daughter wrapped in his web of lies due to her love for him...the doctor had no choice.
She didn't even protest or argue, she simply made haste and walked outside of the lab to greet the kids half way.
"Mae? What're you doin here?" Sammy questioned as Mae shakily gazed upon them.
Her gaze softened as Firecracker ran by her...she hated what she had to do, but she knew she had to do it.
"I...I'm quite busy, I cannot speak right now." She stated acerbically as Sammy arched a brow.
Even if Mae was busy...she'd never be that rude about it, something was off.
Darius and Ben didn't seem to pick up on Mae's demeanor as the latter goes to speak.
"That's okay, we're just looking for-" Mae cuts Ben off.
"That's nice, you should probably get going so you can find it." Mae stated dismissively as the kids gave her shocked expressions.
"Um, is something wrong?" Darius questioned Mae.
Mae fails to answer the question as she looks behind the kids to notice BRAD-X walk up behind them...about 10 yards away.
She began panicking as the bot's eyes glowed in that sickening red hue...she had to do this quicker.
"Listen, kids, it's just not a good time! Because...because..." Mae trailed off as she watched at the kid's expectant gazes and the BRAD-X who was ever so impending.
"Becau-ack!" Mae exclaimed as Firecracker charged by her, knocking her onto one knee...this gave her a great on the fly idea.
"Woah, sorry about that Mae, are you oka-" Ben is once again cutoff by Mae.
"Ben!" The doctor shouted as she stood up swiftly...the kids all flinched simultaneously, Mae was never this stern before.
"If you can't get Firecracker under control, you should just put her back in that stupid nursery pen!" Mae shouted, jutting a finger at the trio, eliciting a gasp from Sammy and hurt expressions from Ben and Darius.
"What? How could you say that?" Ben questioned in disbelief.
"Because I'm the doctor, I know what's best, end of discussion, now please go...I've important work to do." Mae said gravely as that was the nail in the coffin...the kid's got the hint now.
They didn't even say anything, they simply turned away and began walking away.
"Cmon Firecracker." Ben called out to his friend as she bleeted and began following the kids.
Mae watched their backs get further and further away...it stung to talk to them like that but...it was better for them.
Mae then entered the lab swiftly as she noticed Daniel and Karina staring in her direction.
"Was that really necessary?" She questioned Daniel as she walked to her desk.
"You know we can't risk having them snoop around here." Daniel reminded her curtly.
"Yes...I suppose I'd rather break their hearts than risk whatever you'd do to them." Mae relayed her options.
"Yes!" Kash shouted as he stood up with a prototype control chip in his hand.
"Uh-uh Kash, we talked about this, no random outbursts in the lab." Karina reminded him with a deadpan as he seethed.
"I do not have outbursts!" He shouted, stomping his foot onto the floor like a child.
He then looked around the room as everyone gave him incredulous gazes.
"Anyways, we're close boss, soon enough one of these chips will turn a T-Rex into the world's largest lizard puppet." Kash said as he presented the chip to Daniel who gave him an indifferent gaze in response.
"That's...one way to put it." Daniel stated as Karina shook her head at Kash's childish nature.
"Right...I'll save the good spiel for the presentation." Kash said as he turned back and began working again.
"Oh please trust me when I say, save whatever type of spiel you have and just get the chips ready, Kashius." Karina stated as the madman once again seethed.
"Don't call me that! And besides, the people always judge the genius behind the genius anyways." Kash informed her as she rolled her eyes.
"Yea, you and genius are definitely synonymous." She said with a shrug.
"That's enough you two." Daniel stated causing their banter to cease.
"Do not worry Kash, if all goes smoothly, you will get exactly what you deserve." Daniel stated with a slight edge in his tone...an edge that only Mae seemed to pick up on.
She may have hated Kash but...Daniel seemed to have something far too sick in store for even the likings of Kash.
Penthouse
"Ali, you have to hold still." Brooklynn reminded him for the umpteenth time today as she adjusted his suit.
It was a blue two piece suit with a streak running across the side of the jacket, the pants were fully blue and the suit felt smooth to the touch, he wore some black prep shoes to top it off.
"Ya know, I don't know what's more surprising...that the BRADs can tailor clothing...or the fact they can do hair." Ali said as he took note of how the BRADs had gave him a fresh new dropfade and even put his dreads into two strand twists.
"They're robots Ali...they can do whatever you program them to do." Brooklynn said as she finally finished adjusting the black bowtie onto Ali.
"So, what do ya think?" She then questioned Ali as he examined himself in the mirror.
He still didn't know how he felt about suits but he'd have to admit, it was definitely some good work.
"Wow Brooklynn, you got skills for real." Ali said as checked the outfit and himself out inside the mirror.
"Oh stop flattering me." Brooklynn said as she playfully pushed him.
"Okay maybe just a little more...damn I'm good." Brooklynn said as Ali chuckled at her and they went back to the lounge.
"Where's Yas?" Ali questioned Brooklynn who smirked at him.
"Oh don't worry, she'll be here soon." Brooklynn said as Ali arched a brow.
And sure enough, after about five minutes had passed they both heard the clicking of heels against the marble floor as they both knew Yasmina was making her way into the lounge.
Ali's jaw dropped to the floor almost...she was already stunning on the regular...but whatever Brooklynn and those BRADs did had made her mesmerizing.
Her hair was beautifully styled in a fixed bun and a side bang, and it was clearly against her will, because Ali knew no matter what, Yasmina HATED makeup...but she had allowed Brooklynn to do hers, and it definitely looked amazing.
Ali's eyes then traveled down to notice Yasmin was wearing a lavender colored crisscross tie backless split-thigh dress...the dress hugged her figure nicely as her well-toned body was still somehow maintained under all the distress it faced in the past year.
Ali noticed her beige colored heels which were opened, but he also noticed that her toenails and fingernails were painted in a matching hue of lavender.
"So, what do ya think?" Yasmina questioned her boyfriend as she walked up to him.
"I think...I'm the most lucky guy on this planet." Ali said as he took her hands in his and she let out a small chuckle.
"You're so corny." She said as he laughed it off.
"But sweet...you look handsome." Yasmina complimented her boyfriend as they looked eachother in the eyes.
"You guys are soooo cute! I have to get a picture." Brooklynn declared as she brought up the tablet's camera.
Yasmina and Ali then got into a pose as the latter wrapped his arm around the former's waste, and the former wrapped her left arm around his neck.
Brooklynn began directing them on where to stand to make sure she snapped the perfect picture.
They both smiled as the flash from the tablet had let them know Brooklynn had taken the picture finally.
"Look, look!" Brooklynn exclaimed gleefully as she presented the picture to them.
"Wow, this actually looks really nice." Ali said as he couldn't get enough of how wholesome the picture.
"Mhmmm, Mr. Broody has finally left the census!" Yasmina shouted as she highfived Brooklynn.
They then chuckled at Ali's deadpanned expression.
"Whatever happened to the days when you two were fighting all the time, huh?" Ali questioned as Yasmina put her hands on her hips and Brooklynn stuck her tongue at him.
Suddenly the doors slide back to reveal Kenji walking into the lounge with a cardboard box in hand.
"Woah, what is this about?" Kenji questioned the three.
"Well-" Ali is cutoff by Brooklynn gasping.
"Guys this is perfect! Now that you two are dressed up, you can actually go on a double date with Kenji and Sammy!" Brooklynn shouted as Kenji smiled at this idea, whilst Ali and Yasmina's eyes widened.
Ali wasn't sure if he was really ready for an official date with Yasmina...not to say he didn't want one but, he definitely wanted to make sure he was ready for it yet.
"Hey woah now, we didn't agree to all that..." Ali trailed off as Brooklynn gained a down trodden expression.
Ali then turned to notice, much like earlier, Yasmina's eyes were softening, he was losing this round too.
"Aw don't be sad sweetheart, we'll go on the double date." Yasmina said as Brooklynn's emotions immediately did a 180.
"Yay!" Brooklynn exclaimed as she turned and ran back into the dressing room.
"Ya know, sometimes I miss the old hardshelled, no nonsense Yasmina." Ali stated as Kenji set the cardboard box down and fully walked up to them.
"Why are you so against it G? This is perfect, a double date with us four sounds so fun." Kenji stated as Ali sighed and walked over to the couch to sit down, he didn't feel like explaining himself, what he really cared about was not messing that date up.
"He's just going through a phase Kenji, don't mind him, what's in the box?" Yasmina asked Kenji as they walked over to it.
"Ironically enough, this was some stuff for my date with Sammy, but now you guys are involved so it's even better." Kenji explained as Yasmina took note of the plaid suit that was in the box.
"Wow, I didn't ever think I'd see Ali in a suit but I most DEFINITELY never thought I'd see you in one." Yasmina said with a chuckle.
"Yea but then again I didn't think I'd see you with makeup on." Kenji said with a shrug as Yasmina rolled her eyes.
"Whatever rich boy, it's not even that much." Yasmina said as Kenji laughed at her expense, picked up his box, and began going to the backroom.
Yasmina then walked up to Ali and nudged him.
"Let's go outside." She said as Ali nodded and let her lead him outside by the hand.
Jungle Biome
Sammy, Ben and Darius stood in the middle of the jungle trying to figure out what was up with Mae.
"So...I'm not the only one that thinks Mae was acting weird, right?" Darius questioned them as they nodded.
"If you can't get her under control you should put her back in the nursery pen!" Ben shouted in a butchered attempt to recreate Mae's British accent.
"This doesn't make any sense, that sounded nothing like Mae." Sammy said as she looked down in defeat.
"Well, accents have never been my thing." Ben said with a scratch of his head.
"What? No Ben, it's just...she could've been hintin at us going to check out the nursery?" Sammy suggested as Darius hummed.
"Then, why not just say that?" Darius questioned back.
"Wait..." Ben trailed off as realization struck.
"The nursery is where Kon locked up Kash!" Ben exclaimed as Sammy gasped at the realization.
"We have to go now!" She shouted as they all turned and ran to the nursery.
Firecracker roared as she chased after the group.
Kenji
Kenji had to get ready for the date later but first, he was tasked with decorating the back deck for his dad's meeting with the investors later.
This is why he initially had to tell Yasmina and Ali to go to the front deck of the penthouse because this is where his dad's meeting was going to be.
He had set up strings of red paper lanterns, pottery, and numerous chairs for the investors.
"Wow Kenj, you actually did way better than I expected." Kenji almost jumped at his sister's voice as he turned to see her, clad in a black skim dress and some white pumps walking up to him, their father besides her in his regular attire.
"Would you look at this, amazing." Daniek stated as he admired his son's work as well.
"Oh, thanks guys but, it's not done yet." Kenji stated as he walked up to them.
"But I can see where it's heading, way to go son, you've got an eye for style just like your old man." Daniel said as he tooted his own horn, Kenji still smiled at the compliment.
"Wow, A-line configuration, wonder who taught you that one." Karina said as she nudged her brother's arm.
"Thanks sis...I just hope the investors like it." Kenji said with a shaky smile.
"How could they not? And they'd be thrilled to meet the man behind the work." Daniel said as he pulled both of his childre into half hugs before turning to leave.
"Oh, you actually want me to be there?" Kenji asked in surprise...usually his dad kept him away from important stuff and kept Karina around to flaunt how perfect she was.
"Ofcourse I want you there Kenji, your Carnotaur story is gonna kill." Daniel said as he threw his own hands up.
"It's just that...I didn't think I was gonna get to go...so I kindof planned a date with Sammy." Kenji revealed as Karina's smile instantly dropped...she was excited to see her father and brother had improved their relationship but now this news had soured her mood.
She expected her father to try and persuade Kenji into changing her mind...but when she saw that smile appear on his face she shocked to say the least.
"That's wonderful! Sammy must mean a lot to you, a nice quiet date alone huh?" Daniel questioned Kenji as his son chuckled.
"Well not really, Ali and Yasmina are joining us so it's a double date now." Kenji explained as his father hummed and Karina tensed.
Everytime she heard Ali's name...or even saw his stupid face, her growing distaste of him got worse and worse.
"Ah I see, well then, you should go Kenji, have fun, we'll try not to be bored without you, won't we Karina?" Daniel questioned his daughter.
"Yea." She said dryly as the two began walking away from Kenji.
"Thanks dad!" Kenji called out as they continued on.
Airlock Passways
Darius, Sammy and Ben were making their way to the nursery.
"We gotta get some real proof if we're gonna tell Kenji anything, I don't want to hurt him over a load of mess." Sammy declared as the boys nodded.
"Let's get it then! We can't let Kon get away with whatever he's doing." Ben reminded her as they continued walking.
As they were about to round a corner they all simultaneously gasped at the sight of a BRAD-X walking down the hall and they immediately hid behind a crate.
"Since when does a BRAD guard Kash? Brooklynn and I didn't see that last time we were here." Sammy informed the boys are they all warily peaked out to see the BRAD pacing.
When he had gone far enough away from the door they timed it properly and took the opening, running towards the door to the nursery pen.
They swiftly ran into the nursery but remained against the wall so that the BRAD didn't see them.
They all took a second to breathe...but they all tensed and gasped once they looked up to notice Kash's cage was empty...
"He's gone." Ben determined as if they didn't have eyes.
"So if the BRAD isn't here to keep Kash locked in..." Sammy trailed off.
"It's hear to hide the fact that he's out." Darius finished for her.
"Then where the heck is he?" Ben questioned; naturally nobody could answer that question.
Kash's Computer room
"I think the only way we can find any leads is from his computer." Darius declared as they walked up to the modem.
"Welcome back Kash." The monitor stated as Darius began navigating the computer.
"What are all those drones doing in the forest biome?" He questioned in confusion.
"I don't know...but we have to find out." Sammy said as she turned to leave.
"Are you sure you wanna go?" Darius questioned her before gesturing towards the window.
"It's getting dark, almost 8:30..." Darius reminded her as Sammy stopped in her tracks and looked down to the ground solemnly.
8:30...that was the exact date time.
"But...we're too close to stop now, I just hope Kenji will have to understand if I'm a little late once we figure this out." Sammy said with a fixed expression.
Penthouse
Ali and Yasmina were still out on the front deck, to be honest, they wanted to go in about half an hour ago but...Brooklynn had tasked two BRADs will holding them ouside until she had finished setting up the area for the double date.
"What the hell is taking so long?" Ali questioned as Yasmina chuckled at him.
"I think this is your 5th tantrum today." She reminded him.
"Hey, I don't throw tantrums...I just get unreasonably upset at small inconveniences..." He corrected her as she rolled her eyes.
"Come on man, aren't robots supposed to be fast?" Ali questioned as he advanced forward only to be met with halting signs from the bots.
"The Queen of the Brooklanders has not authorized her fivestar restaurant to have any visitors at this time, please be patient." The robot stated as Ali sighed, this was the millionth time he'd heard that in an hour.
"I'll show you patience when I rip you apart for spar-" Ali is cutoff as Yasmina drags him over to a folding chair.
"Okay that's enough, you're not squaring up with a robot Ali." Yasmina scolded her boyfriend as he tried to get up.
"Oh yea? Watch me." He declared as she sat him down again.
"Will you just rela-" Yasmina is cutoff as the BRADs eyes glowed green.
"The restaurant has been complete, the Queen is accepting recipients now." The BRADs say as they move away from the door.
"See?" Yasmina stated as she locked their elbows together.
"Finally." Ali said melodramatically as they walked, elbows locked, towards the entrance.
As they entered the lounge they both felt their jaws hang loose.
The place was...completely altered, their were candles everywhere...vanilla scented, it was dimly lit, their were BRADs and BRAD-Xes walking around as waiters and cleaners...and ofcourse in the middle was Brooklynn and a BRAD with a tray in each hand standing next to the table that the date would be taking place.
The pinkette had styled her own hair into a bun with two curly drapes at the sides...she was wearing a very long yellow dress...which puzzled Ali, he was sure everything his best friend did would revolve around pink.
"Woah, maybe the wait was actually worth it..." Ali trailed off as they began walking up to Brooklynn.
"You can say that again." Yasmina agreed.
"So, what do you guys think?" Brooklynn questioned as the BRAD-X placed the trays down onto the table and walked away.
"This is actually amazing Brooklynn, you definitely have good taste in decor." Ali complimented her as she smiled.
"Duhhh, like I said in my 3rd QNA, if I didn't get famous on YouTube, decor or interior designing would've definitely been my true passion...still kinda is but ya know..." Brooklynn stated as she rubbed her arm.
"We get ya." Yasmina assured her as the pinkette looked up with a smile.
"Okay guys come, sit sit." Brooklynn stated as Ali allowed Yasmina to enter the booth like seat first as he soon followed and sat besides her.
"Perfect, now you guys can help yourself to the croissants and or the garlic bread while we wait for-" Brooklynn cuts herself off as the door slides back to reveal Kenji standing there.
He gasped in shock as he took in the newly decorated lounge...wow was the only thought plaguing his mind.
"I may have gotten a bit carried away but..." Brooklynn trailed off as she scratched the back of her head.
"Are you kidding me? This is perfect!" Kenji exclaimed as he walked up to them.
"Sammy will sit right there and I'll sit next to her and you guys will stay where you are so in case things get awkward we can always blame it on Ali." Kenji said as he gestured to Ali and Yasmina.
"Yea, cause that's totally gonna happen." Ali stated with a deadpan.
"Look at the entirés Kenji, we all know a certain cowgirl who has a liking to garlic bread." Brooklynn reminded him as he gasped.
"Yes, no one touch the garlic bread until Sammy gets here! I'm looking at you Ali." Kenji stated as Yasmina and Brooklynn chuckled.
"Why are you targeting me today? Besides, YOU'RE the one who has a black hole for a stomach." Ali reminded him as the former crossed his arms.
"Anywayssss, then the Sun will set, the lights will get dimmer, and it'll all just be...perfect." Kenji stated dreamily whilst walking towards the window, as they all stared at him getting further.
"Woah, who knew Kenji was such a romantic." Brooklynn stated as she placed her hands on her hips.
"Yea, it almost makes you forget he's a hopeless idiot." Ali stated as Kenji turned to him with a feigned sneer.
"I heard that!" He shouted.
"I wasn't exactly whispering buddy." Ali informed him with a shrug.
"Okay enough! Will you two knock it off for like one second? We're all gonna be on a date soon, God...it feels like I'm back home with my cousins or something." Yasmina said as she shook her head at them.
"What? It's how we show love." Ali tried to explain.
"Okay now that...whatever that was is finished...Kenji I know you're not about to sit down in my restaurant wearing whatever...you call that attire." Brooklynn said as she gestured to Kenji in his normal clothing.
Ali snickered to himself as Kenji stumbled for a bit.
"Well I do have a suit but..." Kenji trailed off as the pinkette arched a brow at him.
Daniel Karina
The father and daughter duo stood at the port as before them were the three investors that Daniel was awaiting.
One on the left clad in a black suit was an African-American male.
The one in the middle dawned a red t-shirt with gray cargos, a Caucasian male.
The final investor wore a gray jacket with black dress pants and black dress shoes...Karina eerily took note of the woman's bald head, though she did not judge because it wasn't clear if the hairstyle was by choice.
"Okay, let's move it along Kon, I'm gonna shoot something if I have to keep these things on for one more minute." The Caucasian man stated as he pointed at the red VR headset they were all wearing to cover their eyes for whatever reason.
Karina narrowed her eyes ar his as she brandished her wrist taser, how dare he come onto HER FATHER'S island and threaten him?
Daniel placed a halting hand on his daughter's shoulder.
"Easy Cyrus, you can all take the VR goggles off." Daniel stated with a chuckle as they walked towards the investors.
They all took the goggles off as they immediately began taking in the sight of Mantah Corp island.
"Welcome, had to keep my location of my island a secret." Daniel informed them as they were seemingly unimpressed.
"Who's the kid?" Cyrus questioned Daniel as he gestured to Karina.
"This is Karina, my daughter." Daniel informed them once more.
"Hmph." The bald woman huffed in disinterest as Karina sneered at her.
"What's with taking our phones?" The African American male questioned.
"I'm sure we can all find a way to keep you all entertained without a phone...now, shall we?" Daniel questioned them.
Forest Biome
Darius, Sammy and Ben were sneaking about in the biome trying to figure out why all those drones were congregating in it forest.
As they neared they heard numerous zaps and the pained roar of an all too familiar T. Rex...they noticed the drones were flying up ahead.
"Oh no..." Darius trailed off as they ran towards the droned.
When they got to the scene they all watched in wide eyed terror as the drones continuously zapped and attacked Big Eatie...the latter bucking around in pain and distress.
Suddenly, Kash and Mae appear onto the scene as the kids were forced to duck behind the bushes.
"Anddd, here we go!" Kash exclaimed as he tapped a few buttons on a controller that was akin to that of a Play Station 4 controller, only differenve being it was black with gold accents and had a screen showing Big Eatie's skeletal frame in the middle.
After he finished pressing the necessary buttons...Big Eatie completely froze, an animal that large and powerful, was frozen and Kash was in complete control of her actions.
He smirked sinisterly...but he was the only one enjoying this...Mae stood next to him as she covered her mouth to ensure that wouldn't hurl all of her thoughts of disgust onto the floor.
Darius, Sammy and Ben all grew to feel just as disgusted as Mae as their eyes widened...Big Eatie was clearly in pain as she struggled to get control of her own body.
"What's wrong Mae? Why are you sooo tense?" Kash questioned the doctor.
"She's fighting it...she's trying her hardest to move..." Mae deducted in disgust.
"And she absolutely can! When I want her to that is..." Kash trailed off as he clicked another button, with that click, Big Eatie moved forward on command.
"No..." Darius said in a hushed tone...they did it, they actually figured out a way to mind control the dinosaurs.
"I cannot believe I got this control deal to work!" Kash shouted in glee.
"Kidding...kidding...I can definitely believe it, this is me after all, now, move over." Kash stated aloud as he controlled Big Eatie to walk back to her original spot.
"Now, do a little dance..." Kash said as against her will, Big Eatie moved around for him.
"You...you're an animal..." Mae trailed off as she snatched the controller from Kash.
"No." Kash fired back as he took the controller back.
"She's an animal, see?" He questioned rhetorically as he used the device to make Big Eatie bow to him.
Big Eatie then roared out in anguish as Kash continued to make her do random things.
Darius began finding it hard to breathe...like the air had become too thick...he never saw her in this much physical pain, only God knows what she was going through right now...
Kenji
Kenji was in his room as he was trying to freshen himself up for the date with the use of his mirror.
He looked over at his bed where he had put his suit to lay, it wasn't the best or fanciest suit but...it was better than nothing.
Suddenly a knock on the door drew his attention.
"Come in!" He called out as Daniel entered the room.
"Well, everyone is settling in, I thought I'd bring you this." Daniel revealed as he brandished a very fancy black suit as Kenji gasped in shock.
Definitely an upgrade from his own suit.
"It's a little snug on me but, I think it'll fit you just fine son." Daniel said as Kenji approached him carefully, this gesture was so nice.
"That's...that's for me?" Kenji questioned him.
"What? Did you think I was gonna let you wear THAT on yout big night?" Daniel questioned as he gestured to Kenji's original suit.
"Wow...I can't believe you did this for me." Kenji said, still in disbelief.
"Ofcourse son, a Kon should always look their best, I taught you and your sister that since you were both young." Daniel stated as he handed the suit over to his son.
"This is great! One less thing to worry about." Kenji said as he hung the suit up.
"Worry?" Daniel questioned him.
"I just really want everything to go perfect...for the date" Kenji said shakily.
"If she's the right person then just showing up is all that matters, besides, your other friends will be there two, right? Can't be that awkward when there's other people to blame it on." Daniel said as they both shared a laugh...then a smile.
"But uh...you should still change, just in case." Daniel said as Kenji chuckled and grabbed the suit before heading to the bathroom to change.
Daniel then got a thought...if his mind served him right, Sammy hadn't been back yet from her little nosey venture.
They had made this all too easy for him to manipulate the situation for his own benefit.
There was a reason Karina wasn't with him right now...he had tasked her with making sure Sammy didn't get back in time for the date...
"Say son, where is the lucky girl anyways?" He questioned his son.
"Huh? No idea...I haven't seen her since this morning actually..." Kenji informed his father who hummed before leaving the room.
The man then pulled his phone out as he immediately dialed into his daughter.
"How are things going?" He questioned her.
"Don't worry dad, they're not getting back into that penthouse if I have anything to say about it." Karina stated as she pulled up a surveillance cam on her tablet.
"Good, stay sharp." Daniel stated before ending the call and walking forward, this was too easy.
Forest Biome
Sammy, Darius and Ben trekked through the forest solemnly as they all didn't even want to think or talk about what they just witnessed.
It had gotten significantly darker, a testament to how long they'd been out on this mission.
It was pure evil...nothing but pure evil.
They were ofcourse oblivious to the fact Karina was watching them from her space instead the penthouse...things were about to get a whole lot more hectic.
"Did you see Big Eatie's eyes?" Darius questioned the group.
"I'm tryin to forget em..." Sammy responded to him.
"She was terrified, I just...I just can't believe they did it." Darius said in utter disbelief.
"I can, look where we are!" Ben shouted.
"And to make things even better, I'm so late for my first date with Kenji...how will he forgive me?" Sammy questioned the boys...
"I'm no romance expert but uh, is telling Kenji about Kash controlling the dinos really the best thing to discuss over a date?" Ben questioned Sammy as realization struck her...even if they wanted to, telling Kenji the truth would mess everything up even more.
"You're right...how am I going to tell Kenji the truth?" She questioned as they came to a halt.
"I'm really not sure there's any good way..." Darius trailed off.
"But you of all peoole know that he deserves the truth Sammy." He finished..
Before Sammy could reply, a few bushes rustling in front of them an and all too familiar snarl drew their attention as they all simultaneously gasped.
Then with two barks, out came the Velociraptor duo as they roared loudly at the group.
"You've gotta be kidding me..." Ben stated as they began backing up in fear as the raptors advanced them.
Now how the hell were they gonna escape alive this time?
Penthouse
Ali and Yasmina were still sitting in the booth as the latter was busy eating a croissant.
Brooklynn had gone to check on the after-effects BRAD she had set up outside.
Yasmina noticed that Ali was staring at her whilst she ate as she immediately stopped and covered her mouth, chewing the rest of the pastry that was in her mouth and swallowing it.
"What? Is there something wrong?" She questioned him.
"Nah, you're just so beautiful I can't really keep my eyes off." Ali as they then locked eyes.
"So now Mr. Broody has evolved into Mr. Sweetheart, I think you're askin for a kiss now." Yasmina said as she playfully poked him in the chest.
"Can I get a kiss?" Ali questioned her as she nodded.
"Sure come here." She said as she puckered her lips and jutted her head forward.
Right as Ali leaned in to kiss her Yasmina raised a croissant and placed it between them as all the dreadhead got to kiss was the pastry.
"Wowwww." He drawled out as she laughed hysterically at his expense.
"I'm just playinggg, here." Yasmina said as she kissed him on his cheek before placing another on his lips.
"There, now we're matching lipstick." Yasmina said as she hugged him.
"I'm fine with that." Ali said with a shrug.
They then turnrd as the doors slid back to reveal Kenji in the suit and dress shoes his father had given him.
"Woah, I don't believe this Kenji but, you actually look fly." Ali complimented his friend.
"I know, I know, I try." Kenji said as he pulled a bouquet of flowers from behind his back out and walked towards the booth.
"Those for Sammy?" Yasmina questioned as he nodded.
"She always says her favorite thing about spring is the smell of some sweet flowers." Kenji informed them as he smelled the flowers before releasing a sigh of delect...sweet they were.
"Now THAT'S a suit." Brooklynn stated as she walked back into the lounge.
"This is going to be perfect, I can't wait for Sammy to get here so I can dress her up toooo." Brooklynn stated in glee as Kenji hummed slightly but still maintained a smile.
"Yea, this is actually really nice, thanks guys, all of you, this means so much to me." Kenji stated as they all smiled fondly.
"Don't mention it, dork." Yasmina welcomed him.
Now all the rich boy had to do was wait for Sammy...the main even of this entire idea was her to him...now where was she?
Forest Biome
The trio was still frozen in fear as the raptors snarled.
One of them then charged forward as it prepared to finish them off.
Fortunately, right as it was near enough to strike an invisible fence of electricity sent it onto it's stomach in pain.
The Velociraptor then looked up after stirring a bit from the electricity, it took note of the drone that was in it's way.
Then that's when realization hit the trio too...this wasn't chance or coincidence...
"That drone...somebody is trying to stop us from getting to the penthouse." Sammy stated with an irate glare.
"Right...someone." Darius said eerily.
"You guys don't think..." Ben trailed off, he didn't want to believe it.
"Yup, Kon's probably mingling with his investors and has Karina somewhere controlling the drones to keep us away fron the penthouse, they don't want us to tell Kenji the truth..." Darius trailed off.
"There's no time to worry, Karina is smart, and she knows what's she's doing, but we still have to find a way to get to that penthouse." Sammy said with a determined gaze.
"Right...if the raptors are still fenced in..." Darius trailed off as he did some calculations.
"All we have to do is walk the perimeter and they can't get to us." He informed the others.
"But um, VERY carefully." Darius added as they began slowly moving along the perimeter, the raptors both eying them dangerously.
Daniel
Daniel was conversing with Cyrus and the female investor, who he referred to as Molina on the back deck.
Karina was walking up to them as she noticed Mr. Gold, which apparently was the African American male was sitting with an entire bottle of wine all to himself...the man was somehow already drunk.
Alas, she didn't really care about that, she was just here to give her father news.
"Woah there sweet stuff, where you goin with your legs all out like that?" Mr. Gold questioned her as she stopped in her tracks and let out a sigh.
"You do know I'm 14, right?" She informed him.
"So? Age ain't nothing but a number." He said with a shrug.
"Oh really?" Karina questioned as she walked over to him, the smirk on his face growing more and more as she got closer.
In the blink of an eye, his smirk turned into a look of fear as she pressed her taser against his neck.
"You know what else is just a number? The 25,000 KJS of electricity in this bracelet, can I use it on you?" She questioned him as his eyes showed nothing but sheer fear.
He shook his head swiftly.
"Didn't think so, whimp." Karina said as she drew her hand back and began walking towards her father and the other investors again.
Mr. Gold stared at her back, perhaps it was his intoxicated state...but he could not for the life of him understand what had just transpired.
"Father." Karina called out as Daniel took a sip of his drink before walking over to her to meet her halfway.
"How's it going?" Daniel questioned her.
"A little shaky, the raptors slowed them down a lot but they figured out a way past them." Karina informed her father as he nodded.
"Fortunately, that other Rex was near the penthouse so I put her right in front of the house, they're not gonna ruin your plans this time and we're gonna get my brother back." Karina informed him as he smiled at the surveillance feed of the kids approaching the penthouse, completely unaware that a T. Rex was awaiting them.
"Good job my dear, this is why you define what a Kon is supposed to be." Daniel said as Karina smiled at that.
"Thank you father." She stated before taking her leave.
Compound
The trio had finally arrived at the compound, the raptors were out of the way, now nothing stood in their way.
"Come on gu-woah!" Ben exclaimed as they all screamed out and ran away from Little Eatie as she appeared out of nowhere and tried to attack them with a mighty roar.
They all hid behind a tree as they watched the drones successfully stopped the Rex from moving any further...this would be just like the raptors...only a much larger window of attack to avoid.
"Now Little Eatie's here too?" Darius questioned in disbelief.
"Why is Karina trying this hard to stop us from getting inside?" Sammy questioned.
Darius then noticed something about the wall and the drones.
"Guys I found the opening, there's a small separation between the drones and the walls...if we stay flat against the wall we can sneak past Little Eatie and get to the door." He informed them.
"Sounds simple enough...lead the way." Ben stated as they all got up and began walking alongside the penthouse wall.
As they snuck along the wall they noticed Little Eatie was trying to snap at the drones.
Unfortunately...right as they got to the middle, the Rex saw them causing them all to gasp and jump.
She then roared and charged at them as they ducked and covered their heads in fear.
Fortunately Darius's assertion was right, as she could not bite them through that window.
Little Eatie was confused...her prey was right there...but she couldn't get to it, why?
As she lets out a powerful roar the kids stayed pinned against the wall, they needed to get inside but this wasn't gonna work.
Atop the roof, Karina smirked down at this all, this part of her mission was complete, now phase 2 was upon her, she had to save Kenji.
Penthouse Lounge
Yasmina and Ali sat adjacent to Kenji as the air was very awkward.
Unfortunately, the first few minutes it was just awkwardness...now that an hour had passed since Sammy was supposed to be here...Kenji was a bit peeved.
Yasmina took note of this as she looked as Brooklynn who was watching everything from outside the deck door.
They both shrugged as they didn't know what to do.
"Soooo..." Ali trailed off as Kenji sighed.
"I think I forgot something in my room." Kenji said as he stood up irately and began walking towards the door with the bouquet of flowers in his hand, a furious hold placed on it.
Why would Sammy stand him up? The only questioned that plagued him currently as he turned into the hall.
He was trying his hardest not to cry about it but...at some point he felt tears welling in his eyes and he couldn't stop them.
It felt like something was suffocating his heart and he couldn't do anything about it...he wanted to lash out, scream, hit something, all of it.
Why him? Why him, huh? All he wanted to do was please the people he loved, what did he do to deserve this?
"Jiji." He turned as he heard his sister call out to him, fortunately stopping him from having a mental breakdown.
"Oh, hey sis." Kenji said with a feigned laugh as he swiftly wiped his tears, which she had already seen anyways.
"Kenji, what's wrong?" She questioned him softly.
"I..." Kenji stumbled on his words as he took a breath to calm himself.
"It's Sammy, I think she stood me up but...I don't want to jump to that conclusion yet, what if she just-" Kenji is cutoff by his sister.
"Oh Sammy? I saw her messing around with Darius and Ben earlier, seemed to me like they were having a really great time." Karina said with a shrug as Kenji's face grew into one of sheer hurt...he unconciously released the bouqet of flowers as it fell to the floor with a fluffy crash following it, a few flowers spilling on the floor.
"Listen Kenji...I personally think if someone is able to forget about your date to go goof off with other people...you seriously need to reconsider devoting yourself to people like that, that's how you end up getting manipulated." Karina explained to her brother.
"Come on, you're already dressed up, don't put this good outfit to waste, why don't you come help father and I with the investors? That should take your mind off of people that don't deserve your energy." Karina said as she offered her his hand.
"I..." Kenji trailed off as he looked down at the spilled bouqet in thought...Sammy...no, he was done worrying about her.
"You're right sis, let's go." Kenji said as he grabbed Karina's hand.
"Great." Karina said as she looked forward with a small smirk pulling at her features...her mission was definitely a success, Kenji was free.
As the two came back to the back deck Daniel immediately stood up and walked over to them.
"Lady and gentlemen, I'd like you three to meet my son, Kenji Kon." Daniel introduced his son as he put a hand over both of his children's shoulders.
Cyrus offered Kenji his hand, which the latter shook thoroughly.
"Your father's been bragging about how you bested the worst of these dinos...I can respect that." Cyrus said as they pulled their hands back.
"He deserves that respect and more..." Daniel trailed off as Kenji made a dopey face.
Karina nudged Kenji as she chuckled at his face.
Penthouse Halls
Darius, Sammy and Ben had finally got past Little Eatie as they rushed to the lounge.
"I hope it's not too late." Sammy said as they ran...but almost as if to spite her, she immediately noticed the bouqet of flowers on the floor in front of the lounge as she picked it up.
Ben and Darius walked up to her carefully as she pulled the little note card out of the bouquet.
"From Kenji Kon to Sammy Gutierrez...the world's most beautiful cowgirl." She read aloud as her voice hitched.
"Oh no..." Darius trailed off as they entered the lounge to see what was supposed to be a lively restaurantey type of date area...was but a down trodden and dead area.
The lights were on, no more candlelit dinner as all of the candles har melted down.
The BRADs were all standing there looking like...well, BRADs.
In the middle of the lounge Ali and Yasmina sat solemnly in the booth as Brooklynn sat adjacent to them, equally as sad.
"Where's...where's Kenji?" Sammy asked with pain evident in her voice, she couldn't help but think all of this was her fault.
The Back Deck
The camp fam had snuck up by the deck doors as they eavesdropped on the Kons and the investors.
They heard Kenji gloat about beating Toro as if that wasn't a team effort.
"I'm telling you, if I wasn't around that Ali kid would've been dead by now, he's always doing reckless stunts that I have to clean up for." Kenji exaggerated as he made everyone minus the camp fam laugh.
"Wow, way to be modest Kenj." Ali said with a deadpan.
"I guess...this explains why Karina was trying so hard to keep us out of the penthouse." Sammy said as she looked down.
"So what do we do?" Brooklynn questioned Darius.
"We just have to tell Kenji the truth." Darius stated firmly to the group.
"Yea that's gonna be easy, Sir Gloatsalot, over there won't exactly come running to ourside if we try to turn him against his dad." Yasmina informed him.
"Well, we'll just have to hope he's still on our side afterwards." Darius stated as they all looked ahead at the group once more as Kenji continued to make them laugh.
Ali then noticed Karina had spottee them, she didn't seem to make a move or tell anyone else...in her eyes she had already won, she had no reason to point them out...they were basically watching her bask in her glory at this point.
She noticed the hardened gaze Ali was sending her way as she smirked at him, he lost, she won, and her brother was free from his clutches, that's all that mattered.
Later That Same Night
Karina was in the lounge, it was 11:37 P.M.
Everyone else was asleep but she needed a glass of water.
After drinking her glass of water she walked over to the table where her brother's date was supposed to be.
It was like a testament to her defeating Ali Ahmad...seeing the date be destroyed before it could even be started, she smiled at this.
Suddenly she noticed the tablet Brooklynn was using.
It was on the table, the pinkette must've forgotten to pick it up.
Karina turned the tablet on as she saw the picture of Yasmina and Ali from earlier.
Her mood was instantly ruined...her smile immediately flipped into a frown.
She was sick of this boy, defeating him wasn't enough...she wanted to break him, make sure he never showed that stupid smile again.
Karina didn't know when...but soon she'd get her chance, and Ali Ahmad would never ever smile again.
"I swear on it, Ali Ahmad will die before he leaves this island." Karina stated as she swiftly slammed the tablet onto the floor, the screen was shattered as the picture flickered.
She took one last look at Ali's smile which was disoriented by the cracks in the screen...then after that it was nothing but darkness, as the crack screen tried its best to piece together a reflection of Karina who was still frowning deeply at it...
