The camera fades in to reveal Camp Wawanakwa, with the classic Chris Mclean getting ready to recap the events of the last episode.
"Last time, on Total Drama, the campers bonded before the challenge."
Flashback to the Sharks having a conversation in their cabin.
"-Some did some… questionable activities."
Flashback to Hayden vaping his THC cartridges in the confessional.
"Probably should do something about that…. And who could forget the first night? Let's just say, not everyone was thrilled with their new accommodations," Chris continues. "The teams had their first real challenge, which was a series of puzzles that got more difficult. In the end, the Savage Sharks won because of Bryce and Zhang's surprising leadership skills."
Chris thought for a moment. "Was not expecting that….. Anyway, the Fearless Falcons lost because of Olivia's whining and Ace's refusal to cooperate. And Ace was surprisingly the first eliminated! Now that the first camper is gone, what will the others make of it? Find out, right here! On: Total, Drama, Island!"
Camera Fades out.
Intro Plays:
Camera fades in.
Wawanakwa Woods.
Bryce wanders alone in the woods at the crack of dawn, hands in pockets.
(Confessional: Bryce)
"I like taking long walks in the woods. Helps relieve stress," Bryce pauses, and glances off camera.
"Also, even though Chris never mentioned an immunity totem, doesn't mean that it isn't there."
(End confessional: Bryce)
He fishes around in some bushes, to no avail. He stops and sighs.
"This is useless!"
Suddenly, a rustling noise catches his attention. Bryce freezes, and looks around, trying to figure out who's there.
Out from behind a tree steps Jade, with a mischievous grin on her face. "Looking for something, Bryce?"
Bryce straightens up, trying to play it cool. "Just, uh, exploring the area." Jade chuckles, "I have a very difficult time believing you." Bryce starts walking away, but Jade follows him.
"Oh, well that's nice. What are you doing here?" Bryce askes her. "This seems something like Hayden would enjoy."
"Are you kidding? The outdoors are leagues better than those dirty cabins, even though we decorated it. It's calm out here."
Bryce smiles, "I hear you there. Not sure I like any of the guys on my team. Zhang's kinda creepy, I swear he shows 0 emotion, Hayden's a total idiot, Daniel's alright, but he's a total suckup."
Jade frowns. "But, honestly, the people are what make it interesting. Even if they are... questionable."
Bryce chuckles. "Questionable is one way to put it. I mean, look at Ace. She's like a ticking time bomb." Jade looks at him. "But she's on the other team."
"True, but between you and me, I'm keeping my distance from most people here."
Jade raises an eyebrow, "So what about me? Should I keep my distance too?"
Bryce pauses, considering her question. "Nah, you're alright. Just... don't expect me to join in on any group hugs or anything."
Jade grins, "Wouldn't dream of it."
The two continued to walk together, meanwhile the cabins weren't as peaceful.
Savage Shark's: Boy's side.
Hayden is asleep, as usual, but Daniel and Zhang are awake. Zhang crinkles his nose in disgust. "Do you smell what I smell? It was faint yesterday, but now I know for sure it's coming from here."
"Yeah, I think I know who it is, too." Daniel gestures his eyes toward Hayden. Zhang grits his teeth.
"What do we do?" Daniel asks Zhang. Zhang sits upright in his bed, and thinks for a moment.
"I know, but we'll have to wait until he gets up first. Daniel, just to make sure, go check the drawers and under the rug, Bryce, you check-"
Zhang pauses, looking around the room. "Where's Bryce?"
Daniel shrugs. "Not here, that's for sure."
Zhang furrows his brow, clearly irritated. "Of course, he's off doing who knows what while we deal with this."
Daniel nods, moving quietly as he starts checking the drawers, trying not to wake Hayden. "You think he's up to something?"
"Of course I do! And I'm putting a stop to it right now." Zhang angrily responded.
Daniel glances over at Hayden, still snoring away. "Do you think we should wake him up now? Or wait until we've found... whatever it is we're looking for?"
Zhang shakes his head, "Let him sleep for now. If we find anything, we'll confront him when he's up. No point in waking him and tipping him off."
Daniel nods, continuing his search. "What do you think it is, anyway?"
Zhang narrows his eyes, his voice low. "Are you stupid? Can you not smell that? He's got marijuana hidden somewhere in his bed sheets!"
Just then, the door creaks open, and Bryce walks in, looking slightly startled to see both of them awake. He quickly masks his surprise with a smirk. "I thought we all knew that."
"We did?" Daniel asked.
"We did?" Hayden asked.
The three boys turned to see Hayden wake up, he rubs his eyes still groggy. "What is going on now…" Bryce asked Zhang, who shushed him.
Hayden sits up, looking confused. "What's the big deal? I didn't even know anything was going on."
Zhang, masking his irritation, says, "Maybe I was mistaken. Just a little paranoid. No big deal."
Hayden, still half-asleep, shrugs and starts to get up. "Fine. I'm heading out for breakfast. Wanna join?"
Bryce shrugs, Daniel nods. "Sure," and the three leave the cabin. Zhang is left alone, without saying a word, he lifts Hayden's mattress and finds the stash of marijuana vapes hidden underneath. Zhang grabs the stash and hides it in his own bag, then carefully replaces the mattress and tidies up the area to avoid suspicion.
Zhang steps back, satisfied with his handiwork, and heads out of the cabin to rejoin the others.
(Confessional: Zhang)
"My main motive? I need him gone, he's a useless team member, and once withdrawal sets in, he's going to be sent home."
(End Confessional: Zhang)
Fearless Falcons: Boy's side
Jack, still asleep, rolls off of the top bunk and slams onto the floor with a thud.
"Ah! Owww!" Jack moans as he picks himself up off of the floor and brushes himself off. Logan chuckles, much to Jack's vexation.
"Nice to know that you care." Jack antagonizes Logan.
Logan grins, trying to suppress his laughter. "Hey, you're the one who picked the top bunk. Maybe next time, don't sleep like a log."
Jack glares at him but can't help a small smirk. "Very funny. Now help me get up. I've got enough bruises without you adding to them."
Logan rolls his eyes, and helps the boy up.
"Thanks."
"Yep."
(Confessional: Logan)
"Do I like Jack? Not really, he's kind of an arrogant jerk. But, there's worse on my team, unfortunately Olivia didn't get the boot last night, do I know how? Not really, but Ace was still a pain, so…."
(End confessional: Logan)
On the porch of the Falcon's cabin, Felix and Andrea lean against the fence connecting the stairs to the cabin.
"Thanks for voting with me." Andrea said, a surprisingly warm expression on her face. "I, uh, I wasn't expecting you to follow through."
Felix smiled as well, "well, we are working together, right? I want both of our game's to benefit from the decisions we make. And that means sacrificing some of the things you want to do."
The Camera zooms out a bit to see Jade walking toward her cabin, but before she enters, she stops and looks at Felix and Andrea.
"So, who'd you cut from your team?"
The two look at each other, then at Jade. "Why does it matter to you? Non-teammate?" Andrea pressed her.
Andrea spoke up, "We're not looking to make our strategy public. So, if you're not part of our team, it's really none of your business-"
"-We voted out Ace." Felix said quickly, cutting off Andrea.
Jade shrugged, "figures." She said, "see you at the challenge."
Felix nodded, "Yep."
Jade entered her cabin and closed the door.
Felix looked at Andrea, who was visibly annoyed. "What?" He asked. Andrea crossed her arms, and Felix looked even more confused. "We do not reveal our strategies to anybody, got it?"
Felix shook his head. "But that'd look suspicious! We want to be subtle."
Andrea uncrossed her arms and leaned closer to Felix. "Subtle doesn't mean spilling our guts to the first person who asks."
"I didn't say we orchestrated anything. Only that our team voted off Ace, relax."
(Confessional: Felix)
"Wow! Andrea is a stubborn person, really stubborn. I just hope that doesn't hurt me in the long run."
(End confessional: Felix)
In the mess hall, everyone was eating again, this time, oatmeal, at the Savage Shark's table, Zhang glared at Hayden as he ate, while Daniel and Starr chatted about their favorite music artist.
"Seriously? You've got to listen to their latest album, it's a game changer!" Daniel said, his eyes lighting up with excitement.
Starr nodded enthusiastically. "I've been hooked on it all week. The lyrics are so deep, and the melodies just get stuck in your head."
Daniel smiled even wider. "Hey! We have a lot in common! That's so cool!"
Starr chuckled, "yeah, I guess we do. Luckily we're on the same team too."
(Confessional: Starr)
"I think Daniel has a teeny tiny crush on me, but that's no biggie, he's a cute guy, I'm just…. Not so good at relationships, so….."
(End confessional: Starr)
On the other side of the table, Zhang's glare bore into Hayden, who was shoveling oatmeal into his mouth. Eventually, his anger was too much for him to contain, and he slammed his fists on the table. Startling everyone in the room, even Chef.
"EAT WITH YOUR MOUTH CLOSED!"
The room went silent.
"Uh, you alright there, pal?" Bryce asked, wide eyed. Zhang took a big breath in. "Sorry," he muttered, his voice strained. "Just... lost my patience."
Hayden, still blinking in confusion, slowly lowered his spoon. "Uh, okay... sorry, man. Didn't mean to, uh, bother you."
"You could have asked nicer!" Tiffany reprimanded Zhang. But he simply shook his head.
"Where I'm from, it's proper etiquette to have simple table manners." Zhang said.
"Well, where I'm from, which is here, I don't care." Bryce said.
Zhang shot Bryce a cold look. "Some of us still care about respect.
Tiffany crossed her arms, her eyes narrowing. "You don't have to be a jerk about it, though."
Zhang quickly realized he was on the losing side of the argument, so instead of responding, he decided to just close his eyes, cross his arms, and say nothing.
Starr, who had been quietly watching the exchange, chimed in, "Hey, let's not fight over oatmeal, okay? We've got bigger things to worry about—like today's challenge."
"Speaking of that, here it comes…." Chris announced, walking into the mess hall. "Congrats on surviving the first elimination, but hey, your luck probably ends there, because today is gonna be awesome! For me."
"Well? What is it?" Olivia pressed.
"Nothing you'll be good at, I'm sure." Jack said.
"Today's challenge is called: "Ultimate Paintball Battle Royale! In this challenge, you'll all get a paintball gun, equipped with team colored paints. Red for the Sharks, and Green for the Falcons. The objective? Be either the last person standing, or eliminate every member of the other team in 3 hours. If not, then whichever team has the most people standing will win immunity."
"What if it's a tie?" Harmony asked.
"Really? Like that'll happen. But, since you asked, in the event of a tie, whichever team had the first person out will lose. So, I'd heavily discourage hiding. Also, friendly fire is counted, so make sure you know who your allies and enemies are."
Most of the contestants looked at each other at this.
"Now, once you're finished eating, come outside to collect your weapons, and a 10 minute timer will begin before you can start fighting."
Jack leaned back in his chair, grinning. "A paintball battle? This is going to be epic."
Andrea, sitting beside him, nodded with a determined look. "Make sure you don't get too excited. We can't afford to lose."
"Yeah, yeah…." Jack said, before falling off his stool.
"Oww."
Olivia sighed, stirring her oatmeal absentmindedly. "Great, more running around, just what I wanted."
"Really?" Felix asked. "You'd think after almost being eliminated, you'd realize the thin ice you're on, but I guess not."
Jade, however, seemed intrigued, a smirk playing on her lips. "This could be fun. Finally, something that lets me take out some frustration."
"Tell that to over there." Bryce said, pointing at Zhang. "But maybe not, it might get to his head."
Jade laughed.
Zhang rolled his eyes and threw his food away.
As the campers finished their breakfast, they began to file out of the mess hall, one by one, ready to collect their paintball guns and prepare for the upcoming battle.
Chris called after them, "Remember, you've got 10 minutes to get into position once you've got your gear. So, don't waste time!"
The gear in question was a lightweight paintball vest, designed to protect the torso while allowing for easy movement, fitted in team colors, Each contestant also received a sleek paintball gun, pre-loaded with paint-filled pellets.
Chris handed out extra ammo packs to each camper, giving them just enough to make every shot count, but not so much that they could afford to be careless. Alongside the basic gear, each camper was also given a small utility belt with pouches for carrying extra ammunition or any other small items they might pick up along the way.
"Jesus! I didn't expect it to look like we were going to war!" Harmony exclaimed.
Olivia looked like she was having trouble standing up straight. Andrea quickly saw this, and facepalmed.
"Oh please! It's not that heavy!" She said, but Harmony quickly stepped in.
"Give her a break, it's always you two arguing." She scolded Andrea. Who just looked at her.
(Confessional: Andrea)
"Why is she siding with her? She voted for her! It doesn't make any sense!"
(End confessional: Andrea.)
"Ugh, Whatever." Andrea said as her team finished gearing up.
On the other team, Tiffany was the only person not completely suited up. "Where's the eye-wear?" She asked the Host.
"None provided." The host responded.
Tiffany frowned, clearly unimpressed. "No eye protection? You can't be serious!"
Chris shrugged nonchalantly. "It's paintball, not a fashion show. You'll be fine."
Tiffany rolled her eyes and walked away, "this is so not safe," she muttered, but no one seemed to be listening.
Zhang was fiddling with his paintball gun, and was purposefully pretending to shoot Bryce with it.
"Careful with that!"
"Sorry, my finger s-slipped!"
The host intervened, "alright, your ten minutes starts…..now!"
The campers dispersed across the island. The Savage Sharks break up into little pairs very quickly. While the Falcons stay as a team.
Savage Sharks
Hayden and Zhang unfortunately found themselves together as they ran away from the mess hall. Hayden looked very uncomfortable as Zhang ran ahead.
"You know," Hayden started, trying to break the awkward silence, "we don't have to be together. I can-
"Just stay quiet and follow me, we're going to scout the woods, make sure to keep an eye behind us." Zhang interrupted, not even looking back.
Hayden gulped and nodded.
(Confessional: Hayden)
"Why does he hate me so much? What have I ever done to him? I was nothing but nice to everybody!"
(End confessional: Hayden)
Daniel and Tiffany were inside the boathouse. "We'll stay here." Daniel said.
"Didn't Chris say not to hide?" Tiffany said.
Daniel aimed his paintball gun out of the doorhole. "We're not hiding, we're ambushing, once we see a person not on our team, we can rush them from here!"
Tiffany rolled her eyes. "If you think that'll work, then fine.."
(Confessional: Tiffany)
Tiffany sighed. "I'm not the most "uplifting" person,"
She used quotes to emphasize her point.
"And I get that, I guess I call it how I see it, which is pretty black and white. And how I see it is….. Daniel's plan sucks."
(End confessional: Tiffany)
Tiffany leaned against the wall of the boathouse, watching Daniel with a skeptical expression as he kept his focus on the doorhole, ready to ambush anyone who came by. She fiddled with her paintball gun, Daniel's plan seemed overly simplistic for a game as unpredictable as this.
"Daniel," she began cautiously, "what if more than two people show up? Or if they see us first?"
Daniel turned to her, a confident smile on his face. "We'll just have to be quick and catch them off guard. Trust me, this spot gives us the advantage."
Tiffany sighed again, glancing out the window. "There's no other exit besides the one you're looking out of, if we get caught, we're done."
Daniel took his attention off of the door and onto Tiffany. "You're beginning to sound like you don't like my plan."
Tiffany rubbed the back of her neck, and the two stared at each other for quite a while, in that while, Chris had announced the 10 minutes were up, and the game had started, and Tiffany's patience began to wear thin. "Maybe we should-"
"Someone's in there!"
The sound of rustling footsteps outside the boathouse made both of them freeze. Daniel's eyes lit up, and he gestured for Tiffany to get ready.
They held their breath, paintball guns aimed, waiting for their moment.
The door was opened by someone wearing red, and Daniel and Tiffany jumped back. Aiming their paintball guns.
It was Bryce, Jade, and Starr.
"Oh!" Daniel said.
"Oh…." Bryce said.
Everyone stood there for a moment. "Well, this is awkward," Jade said, lowering her weapon slightly.
Tiffany rolled her eyes. "You don't say. What are you guys doing here, anyway?"
Starr stepped forward, cautiously lowering her gun as well. "We were looking for a good place to strategize. Didn't expect to run into teammates hiding out."
"For the last time! I'm, not hiding! I'm ambushing!"
Starr finally lowered her gun and sighed. "Well, it's not a bad idea, but we've got to make sure we're not just sitting ducks. There's a whole forest out there, and we need to be moving."
Jade nodded in agreement. "We should stick together, cover more ground. The Falcons won't know what hit 'em."
Daniel exchanged a glance with Tiffany, who shrugged. "Fine," she said. "But if this goes south, I'm blaming you."
Bryce smirked, "I'll take that responsibility."
Another moment passed.
"Where's Hayden and Zhang?" Tiffany asked. The others looked at each other. Then the announcements came on.
"And Hayden and Zhang are out! The Falcons lead 6-5!"
"Greaaaat." Bryce said.
"Come on!" Jade yelled, and the team took off.
Hayden and Zhang are drenched in green paint. Zhang grits his teeth in anger as Hayden looks on, defeated.
"Could you not be a liability for once!?" Zhang bellowed.
Hayden wiped some paint off his face, looking down at the mess. "Hey, it's not my fault! They came out of nowhere!" he protested.
Zhang glared at him, his anger barely contained. "You're useless! I had a plan, and you ruined it! I told you to look behind us!"
Hayden sighed, still feeling the sting of defeat. "I'm trying, okay? It's not like this is easy for me."
Zhang clenched his fists, frustrated but knowing he couldn't change what had already happened. "Trying isn't good enough. You just got us both eliminated!"
Hayden shrank under Zhang's intense gaze.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Fearless Falcons:
The team cheered, having just shot Hayden and Zhang with paint, eliminating them.
"They were sitting ducks!" Logan said.
"Now we gotta find the others!" Felix said, "let's go!"
The team ran off. And Olivia sighed, clearly not wanting to run any longer.
At the back of the pack, Logan and Harmony ran next to each other. As they ran, Logan glanced over at Harmony, noticing she was keeping pace with him. "You're pretty quick," he said with a grin.
Harmony smiled back, slightly out of breath but keeping up. "I'm used to it. Choir practice can be a workout when you've got to move around and sing at the same time."
Logan chuckled. "Guess that explains why you're not complaining like Olivia."
Harmony glanced ahead at Olivia, who was lagging behind the group with a frustrated expression. "Yeah, she's not exactly thrilled about all this running."
"Sucks she wasn't eliminated, you voted for her too, right?"
Harmony nodded, "of course!"
Felix called out from ahead
"We're going to need everyone to be focused if we're going to win this."
Harmony agreed, then looked ahead. "So, what's the plan? Keep picking them off one by one?"
Logan smirked. "Exactly. We've got the numbers now, so we just need to stay together and keep the pressure on."
Harmony's eyes sparkled with determination. "Let's do it."
"I can hear you!" Olivia yelled. "Keep talking about me like I'm not there!"
"Uhhh…" Logan said.
(Confessional: Logan)
"Well, I've been caught red handed, no turning back now."
(End confessional: Logan)
(Confessional: Olivia)
Olivia crossed her arms, glaring at the camera. "Logan thinks he's so slick, huh? Well, we'll see about that. If they want me to pull my weight, I'll show them I can!"
Oliva slammed her hands down on the wooden seat the toilet bowls rests inside of, and quickly winced.
"Owie! Splinter!"
(End confessional: Olivia)
Back in the forest, the Falcons came to a stop, catching their breath. Olivia, still fuming, shot a glare at Logan and Harmony. "Next time, how about you just say it to my face?"
Logan raised his hands defensively. "Hey, it's the truth, isn't it?"
Felix turned to the group. "What's going on?"
Olivia huffed, crossing her arms. "Logan thinks I'm not pulling my weight. And Harmony's just going along with it."
Harmony shook her head, trying to explain. "It's not like that, Olivia. We just need to work together, that's all."
Felix stepped between them, trying to keep the peace. "Look, we don't have time for this. The Sharks are probably regrouping too. We need to focus on the challenge, not on each other. Let's just move on, okay?"
Logan sighed, giving a small nod. "Yeah, fine. Truce?"
Olivia looked at him for a moment before reluctantly nodding. "Tru-"
Then a barrage of red paint is shot at the Falcons, Olivia is hit in her hair, while Jack is hit in his face.
"Ahh! Paint in my eyes! Paint in my eyes!"
He shoots wildly as she runs away, screaming, however, the Falcons managed to hit Bryce and Daniel.
Andrea begins booking it, "retreat! Retreat!"
The Falcons run away, leaving the eliminated parties behind. "Just….GREAT! MY HAIR IS ALL STICKY!" Olivia screams.
"At least you can see!" Jack said.
Daniel and Bryce watch in amusement. "Suckers!" The latter said, and the two chuckled.
"And the Falcons still lead 4-3! Two hours remain!" The announcements blared.
The Falcons were sprinting, some reloading their paintball guns.
"Where are we heading?" Harmony asked, trying to keep pace with Andrea.
"Just away from them!" Andrea replied, looking for any potential hiding spots. "We need to find some cover and come up with a new plan."
"Because the last one went excellent." Logan drawled.
Andrea rolled her eyes.
(Confessional: Andrea)
"We can't lose again, and I'm trying to lead us to victory, but everyone here is making it so dang hard!"
(End confessional: Andrea)
On the other team, it was apparent that their ambush had backfired, as they were still one person down.
"I blame you." Tiffany said, looking at Jade. Jade rolled her eyes at Tiffany's accusation. "Seriously? How is this my fault?"
"Because your plan was to storm them, and now we're down a person," Tiffany retorted, crossing her arms.
"It was part her plan, too!" Jade directed at Starr.
"Hey! It doesn't matter whose fault it is. What's done is done. We need to figure out our next move."
Tiffany crossed her arms, "Fine, but let's make it quick before the Falcons regroup."
Jade looked thoughtful for a moment, then spoke up. "We should stick together and move strategically. If we're careful and keep our eyes open, we can ambush them one by one."
Starr shrugged, "Today couldn't get much worse, and we should use the terrain to our advantage. Find a spot where we can cover all angles and wait for the Falcons to come to us."
"Sounds good to me," Tiffany said reluctantly. "Let's get moving then."
The trio ran off.
The eliminated contestants had to report to the mess hall until the challenge was over, Zhang looked at Hayden as the two sat.
(Confessional: Zhang)
"Now's about time to enact my plan."
(End confessional: Zhang)
"Stressful day, huh?" Zhang asked Hayden in an uncannily friendly tone.
"Uh…..yeah?"
Zhang leaned back in his stool, impatient.
Hayden began fidgeting nervously. After a few minutes, Hayden leaned over and whispered, "I need to… take the edge off. Think you can cover for me?"
Zhang raised an eyebrow, pretending to be clueless. "Take the edge off how?"
Hayden hesitated, then nodded toward the door. "I've got something back at the cabin. I just need a minute."
Zhang feigned understanding and waved him off. "Go on, then. Just be quick about it."
(Confessional: Zhang)
Zhang held a finger to his chin.
"Now, all I have to do is make sure the other's don't know it's me. I know Daniel will know, but other than that, it needs to seem like Hayden's lost his mind."
Zhang took his finger off of his chin.
"This won't exactly be easy, but manageable."
In the cabin, Hayden sprinted inside, and threw his bunk's mattress onto the floor.
"Uh-"
He froze, and looked at the empty planks under where the mattress was. Panic set in as he frantically searched the bed frame, then went to flipping through blankets and pillows that were strewn about the floor.
"No, no, no!" He yelled, his heart racing. "It was right here!"
He dropped to his knees, checking under the bed and in the nearby drawers, but there was nothing. Desperation took over as he realized his plan had gone completely wrong.
"Who took it?" Hayden yelled even louder. And then…
"WHO TOOK ITTTTTT!?"
Back in the woods, The Sharks had caught sight of the Falcons, and were creeping up on them.
Jade made a "shush." Gesture and aimed her gun, and then,
"WHO TOOK ITTTTTT!?"
Jade dropped her gun, splattering paint everywhere, and onto the three remaining Sharks.
"Huh?" Jade said.
The announcements blared once more. "And with 4 people remaining, the Falcons win the challenge!"
The Falcons cheer.
"Yes!" Andrea said, high fiving Felix, who smiled big. Olivia actually looked happy for once, while Logan shot paint into the air.
"Yeah, baby!" Logan cheered.
On the other team, Tiffany glowered at Jade, while Starr looked confused and upset.
"Great going butter fingers," Tiffany told Jade. "You just made us lose."
"It wasn't my fault!" Jade explained, "it was-"
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Everyone froze.
"That…" Jade finished.
"Savage Sharks," The announcements said, "meet me at the elimination ceremony, one of you is going home tonight!"
The announcements turned off. And the contestants made their way back to the cabins to see what the heck was happening.
As the Savage Sharks entered their cabin, Hayden stormed in, his face flushed with anger. Zhang was sitting on his bed, having left the mess hall as well, seemingly relaxed, but his eyes flicked up when Hayden burst through the door.
"Where is it?" Hayden demanded, his voice trembling with a mix of rage and panic.
Zhang raised an eyebrow. "Where is what?"
The other contestants entered the cabin, but chose to stay silent for the moment.
"Don't play dumb with me! My stash—my stuff! It's gone!" Hayden yelled, pointing an accusing finger at Zhang.
The room fell silent as the other contestants exchanged glances, some uncomfortable, others intrigued.
"Your…what?" Zhang asked. "I have no idea what you're talking about."
Hayden's fists clenched, his whole body tense. "You know exactly what I'm talking about. And if I find out you took it…"
Zhang smirked. "Well, whatever you misplaced, I'm sure it's for your own good. But like I said, I don't know what you're talking about."
Daniel looked somewhat uncomfortable.
(Confessional: Daniel)
"I know Zhang's lying, he told me he had a plan on how to get rid of the stench, but I didn't know stealing was what he had in mind! But then again, drugs are bad, soooo…."
(End confessional: Daniel)
The other Savage Sharks looked at each other, their initial shock turning into disapproval.
Tiffany was the first to speak up, crossing her arms and glaring at Hayden. "Are you serious? You've been hiding drugs here this whole time? What kind of idiot are you?"
Starr, usually more soft-spoken, nodded in agreement. "That's really irresponsible, Hayden. You could have gotten us all in trouble."
Jade, still shaken from the earlier chaos, added, "I can't believe you'd risk something like that, especially during a competition. What were you thinking?"
Bryce looked around. "I thought we already knew this? Are you all nose blind?"
Hayden, feeling cornered, tried to defend himself. "It's not like that! It was just to help me chill, you know? This place is stressful!"
Tiffany scoffed, "That's no excuse. If you can't handle the pressure, maybe you shouldn't be here."
Zhang, still standing with that same unreadable expression, finally spoke up again, his voice cold. "You're putting everyone at risk with your stupidity. If you want to throw your life away, fine, but don't drag the rest of us down with you."
Then Andrea from the other team showed up, curious about all the arguing. "What's going on?" She pressed.
Then Zhang got up from his bunk and walked over to the door, "none of your business." He said, and then slammed the door in her face.
The elimination ceremony was tense, Chris Mclean had six marshmallows to hand out, everyone looked tired.
"Savage Sharks, you lost the challenge, and it's time you pay the price for it." Chris said, "I have six marshmallows on the plate, if you do not get a marshmallow, you're eliminated from the competition, and you have to take the drone of despair off of the island, got it?"
The campers nodded.
"Okay, go and vote."
(Confessional: Zhang)
"Let's hope it worked, I believe it did, but accidents do happen."
(End confessional: Zhang)
(Confessional: Bryce)
"On one hand, Hayden is inept, and annoying, but on the other hand…. Zhang is slimy, and it looks like he's not above lying to get what he wants."
Bryce looked nervous.
"This'll be a tough decision."
(End confessional: Bryce)
(Confessional: Daniel)
"Ooh!" I don't know what to do! I feel so bad for Hayden, yet I feel that Zhang did the right thing! Even though he…didn't?"
(End confessional: Daniel)
Back at the ceremony, everybody had casted their vote, and Chris began handing out marshmallows.
"The first marshmallow goes to…Starr!"
Starr caught her marshmallow.
"Jade, Daniel, you're also safe."
Jade and Daniel got their marshmallows.
"Bryce, you're safe as well. Tiffany.
Bryce and Tiffany got their marshmallows.
"That leaves Zhang, and Hayden, the votes were 4-3, and the final marshmallow goes to…"
"Zhang! Hayden, you're out, dude."
Chris tossed the final marshmallow to Zhang, who happily ate it.
Hayden's face fell as he realized what had just happened. He glanced around at his teammates.
"How were the votes 4-3?" Zhang asked. "We got some traitors on this team."
"Drone of despair awaits, my dude."
Hayden stood up, and rubbed the back of his neck. "Can't say I didn't see any of this coming, but the one thing I can say is that Zhang's a liar and a thief!"
Zhang rolled his eyes.
As he walked toward the drone, the other contestants watched silently, some crossing their arms, others just shaking their heads. Starr looked a little sad, but she didn't say anything. Zhang, however, gave Hayden a final cold look, almost as if to say good riddance.
The drone clamped onto Hayden's beanie, causing him to scream.
"OW! Jesus! Not so hard!"
And with that, he was carried away. And the host turned to the camera.
"Well, looks like the problem took care of itself! But the drama isn't over! Find out who will be eliminated next time, on Total, Drama, Island!"
Camera fades out.
Editor's note:
Hayden is a new concept that I hadn't dabbled with much, and surely the actual Total Drama won't, either. With it being on Cartoon Network and the whole "Drugs are bad, kids," motto. Regardless, I liked the way I could turn him from a relaxed guy to really nervous and fidgety whenever Zhang was around. And I have a feeling that it won't be the last time the two interact. See you in the next one!
