The episode opens with a clear view of a dock with wooden planks and an ocean in the view. Suddenly a "young" man pops into view with a smug grin that really gives you the feeling that you're gonna see it a lot in the future.
Chris: Yo! We're comin' at you live from Camp Wawanakwa, somewhere in Muskoka, Ontario! I'm your host, Chris McLean. Dropping season one of the hottest new reality show on television right now! Here's the deal. Twenty-two campers have signed up to spend eight weeks right here at this crummy old summer camp. They'll compete in challenges against each other, and then have to face the judgment of their fellow campers. Every few days, one team will either win a reward or watch one of their team members walk down the Dock of Shame, take a ride on the loser boat, (laughs) and leave Total Drama Island for good.
The camera transitions to 11 logs with an unlit campfire.
Chris: Their fate will be decided here at the dramatic campfire ceremony, where each week, all but one camper will receive a marshmallow.
He then shows the symbol of staying on the island and eats one.
Chris: In the end, only one will be left standing and will be rewarded with cheesy tabloid fame and a small fortune, which let's face it, they'll probably blow in a week. To survive, they'll have to battle... Black flies, grizzly bears... Disgusting camp food... And each other. Every moment will be caught on one of the hundreds of cameras situated all over the camp. Who will crumble under the pressure? Find out here, right now, on Total. Drama. Island!
{This is where the intro plays, but I'm gonna save that for the next episode. Or maybe the last? Idk we'll see.}
The camera then goes back to the dock with Chris standing there with a smile.
Chris: Welcome back to Total Drama Island. All right. It's time to meet our campers. We told them they'd all be staying at this five-star resort, so if they seem a little T.O.'d, that's probably why.
The first one to arrive is a Grade-A juvenile delinquent. He doesn't seem happy and even has punk rock music playing in a boombox next to him. When he hops off his boat, he immediately gives Chris a mean glare.
Chris: Duncan, dude.
Duncan: I don't like... Surprises.
Chris: Yeah, your parole officer warned me about that, man. He also told me to give him a holler anytime and have you return to juvy.
Duncan: (inhales) Okay then.
He then walks to the left. Another boat then arrives. It carries a fairly short girl with a brown vest, coral shirt, and blue pants.
Chris: Welcome to the island, Millie!
Millie: I thought this was supposed to be 5 stars…
She then gets wide-eyed.
Millie: Well, played…
She then takes out a notebook and writes something as she walks over to where Duncan is standing, neither saying a word to the other. Next is another girl, but taller. She has a black and white shirt and army pants and shoes. She doesn't look happy either. When she steps off, you can just hear that there's something heavy in her bag. A bunch of sharp weapons are sticking out.
Chris: Axel… You definitely came prepared…
Axel ignores him and stands next to Duncan.
Duncan: (To Axel) Meet you by the campfire, gorgeous.
Axel responds by putting her bag on his foot which causes him to yell and hold his foot in pain. The next person to arrive is another short girl with a blue shirt and pants.
Priya: You know I should be surprised, but you're probably just doing this for money.
Chris: You know me so little. (Chuckles)
Priya calmly walks to the other campers and waves. Only Millie waves back. Next to arrive is a very tall guy with a green cap, yellow shirt, and pink long pants. So far, he's the only one that's smiling.
?: Yoo! Chris! My man! Bring it in!
He tries to go in for a hug, but Chris stops him, clearly annoyed.
Chris: Nope! Go hug the other ones, Zee!
Zee then gets a good look at everyone and realizes that none of them are particularly happy. So, he disappointingly walks to them. The next person to arrive is a clearly confident guy with a green-striped shirt and brown pants. When he steps off the boat, he points to his shirt and looks at the audience.
?: Time for beast mode!
He then rips his shirt off and flexes for the audience. Both Priya and Millie are uncomfortable with the show. Zee is the only one smiling as he casually takes a sip of a random soda. Ripper notices the two girls and decides to ignore their looks of disgust and gives them a closer look.
?: Take a long, dreamy look, ladies. Because once I win this thing, I'll be out of your league.
Chris: Hey, Ripper… I don't see any stuff with you. Was that your only shirt?
It turns out Ripper forgot his stuff. He tries to get it back, but the boat is long gone.
Ripper: Aww fart nuggets!
Duncan was trying his best to hold in his laughter, but he couldn't anymore. This gets the attention of Ripper.
Ripper: What are you laughing at, mohawk?
Duncan: (laughing) You are just… (laughs).
Ripper: Oh yeah?! I'd love to see you come here and laugh at me!
Duncan walks and stops in Ripper's face.
Duncan: (Dryly) Ha. Ha. Ha.
Ripper: (Nervous) You see? Now we can laugh together…
Axel: We don't need to see you peeing yourself, fatass. Back off, Duncan.
Duncan does so, but he has a smile on his face. Ripper looks embarrassed as he takes a step away from Duncan.
Chris: Don't worry, Ripper. We'll be sure to get your stuff back later.
The next camper arrives. He has a yellow hat, blue jacket, lime shirt, and black pants. He takes one look at the island and proceeds to walk by Chris with a neutral expression.
Chris: What's up, Damien?
Damien: Yo! What's up-
He stops himself when he catches sight of Priya. He then walks to her, clearly nervous, but tries to shoot his shot.
Damien: H-hey. Are you a parking ticket? Because-
Priya: "I have 'fine' written all over me"? Nice try, but you need to do better than that.
Damien: Is that a challenge?
Priya: Depends on if you can even handle someone like me.
Damien: Oooh. Feisty and smart. I like you already.
Priya: (blushes) You aren't half bad yourself.
The sound of the next boat distracts them. Well, more so who's on the boat. Even though no music is playing, you can just hear the creepy atmosphere. A short girl with a blue dress and pink and purple striped leggings arrives with a not-so-normal smile on her face.
Chris: Uh… Welcome to the island, Lauren…
Lauren: (menacingly) Don't call me that.
Chris: Uh…
Duncan: (off-screen) (shouting) What about Scary Girl?
Scary Girl: …I like it! You are now my new friend.
Duncan: Uh…-
Scary Girl stands next to Duncan. The fact that nothing has happened to him yet makes Duncan calm down. The next boat then arrives with another camper. He has sunglasses with hearts for lenses. He has a purple shirt and green pants. He's also smiling, but not creepily.
Chris: Welcome, Bowie!
Bowie just smiles and walks next to the other campers. Instead of a boat, someone clearly screaming in excitement can be heard. It turns out that the next camper decided to ride behind the boat but without water skies. He's wearing a red jacket and dark yellow pants. When the boat stops, he crashes into the back of the boat, but quickly climbs on it. As he grabs his stuff, an intern is on the edge holding a camera.
?: Did you get all of that?!
The intern nods.
?: YES! (to camera) If you like this video, don't forget to subscribe!
Chris: What an entrance! Welcome, Chase.
Ripper: That was sweet, dude! I already subscribed to your channel!
Zee and Chase gasp at the same time, knowing what Ripper is about to say next.
Chase, Zee, and Ripper: "3 Guys in a Beach House"!
Zee: Why did you change it from "3 Guys and a Girl in a Beach House"?
Chase: Um…
Another boat then arrives much to the relief of Chase. But that relief then turns into worry. The next camper is a short girl with an orange shirt and white skirt. She's smiling until she sees the camp and then Chase.
Chase: Uh oh…
?: (to Chris) What. Is he. DOING HERE?!
Chase: Babe?!
Not Chase's babe: I'm not your girlfriend! When will you get it through your thick head!?
Chase: I don't understand! Why are you acting like this?
This was the wrong thing to say as his ex tries to jump on him, but Chris stops her by holding her back. Bowie is smirking when he sees this display.
Chris: Woah woah! Save it for the challenges, Emma.
Emma glares at Chase as she slowly calms down and walks away from Chase.
Chris: You'd almost think we brought you both here on purpose…
He then winks to the camera. The next camper to arrive isn't smiling. In fact, she doesn't look happy in the slightest. She's wearing a blue shirt and pants. When she steps off the boat, the whole dock shakes. She walks by Chris, not saying a word.
Chris: Eva.
Eva stands near Ripper who is staring at her.
Ripper: Hey there, pretty lady. You come here-
Eva puts her duffle bag on top of Ripper's shoe.
Ripper: Ow!
Axel: Nice. What's in there? Dumbbells?
Eva: (Flatly) Yes.
Axel: I personally prefer to use the outdoors to work out.
Eva: You can deal with bugs. I deal with AC.
Axel: … I think you and I are going to be great friends.
Eva doesn't react to that comment. Next camper to arrive is another short girl. She has a blue hat with a red jacket a yellow shirt and blue pants. She has a smile on her face as well. She decides to fist-bump Chris.
Chris: Welcome, Mary Kate.
Mary Kate: You can just call me MK.
MK then walks to the rest of the contestants not saying a word. The next camper is a pretty big fella. He has a shirt with a maple leaf on it and bright green pants. He also seems happy.
?: Woohoo! Chris! What's happenin'?! (laughs) This is awesome! Woohoo!
Chris: Owen! Welcome!
Owen then hugs Chris which makes Chris cringe in pain and kinda upsets Zee.
Owen: Awesome to be here, man! Yeah! Man, this is just so...
MK: Awesome?
Owen: Yes! Awesome! Whoooo! Are you gonna be on my team?
MK: Oh, I sure hope so. /s
Owen: Whooooo!
Chris: You about finished?
Owen: Sorry, dude. I'm just so psyched!
Chris: Cool. And here comes Courtney.
The next boat holds a girl with a grey shirt and long green pants. She waves. Chris decides to help her off the boat.
Courtney: Thank you. Hi. You must be the other contestants. It's really nice to meet you all.
Owen runs up and shakes her hand excitedly.
Owen: How's it goin'? I'm Owen!
Courtney: Nice to meet you, Ooohhhh, wow.
Courtney then gets distracted by the next camper that catches the attention of Owen, Bowie, and every girl besides MK. Even Eva and Axel are staring. He's pretty muscular, wearing a pink shirt and blue pants.
[dreamy music plays]
Priya: Oh my…
Emma: Woah…
Chris: This is Caleb. Welcome to Total Drama Island.
Caleb: Thanks, Chris, but is this where we're staying?
Chris: Yep. And just so you know, we picked you based entirely on your looks.
Caleb: I can deal with that.
Owen: I like your pants!
Caleb: Thanks, man.
Owen: 'Cause they look like they're all... Worn out. (laughs) Did you buy them like that?
Caleb: Uh no, just had them for a while…
Owen: Oh. Cool. (to himself) (facepalm) Stupid.
Chris: Hey, everyone. Izzy!
The next camper is someone who just screams wild. They have a green top and a yellow dress.
Izzy: Hi, Chris! Hi! Hi! Whoa!
She slips and falls into the lake after hitting her head on the dock.
Chase: Ooh! That was bad. (laughs)
Courtney: Guys. She could be seriously hurt.
Courtney helps her up. Izzy shakes the water off like a dog which confuses Courtney.
Izzy: That felt... So... Good! Except for hitting my chin. This is summer camp? That is so cool. Do you have Papier-mâché here? Are we having lunch soon?
Owen: That is a good call!
Ripper: OK, we met little miss crazy. Can we get on with it?
Next camper to arrive is a girl who's wearing a short white shirt and light blue ripped-short pants.
Chris: Welcome J-
?: Sorry can you just… thanks!
She then quickly pulls out her phone and snaps a picture with Chris in it while making a peace sign. Chris is clearly confused. She then starts tapping on it.
?: This will bring me lots of hearts. #Goingplaces. #Winning!
Chris: Uh… Julia? Remember that boring contract that you signed before getting on this show? It said, "No Outside communication allowed!"
Julia: But how am I supposed to grow as a person without telling my followers I'm growing as a person?
Chris: Figure it out, but without a phone.
Chris then extends his hand. Julia reluctantly gives him her phone.
Chris: Good. Now all of them.
Julia gives Chris three different color phones.
Julia: That's it. I swear on the planet.
Chris then pulls out a metal detector and finds out she's lying.
Chris: "On the planet" huh?
She then gives him another phone and stands next to MK.
Chris: Our next camper is a pretty big deal. Welcome Nichelle LaDonna!
She's such a big deal that her boat isn't even shown on screen. She's wearing a pink tank top and blue pants.
Nichelle: YES! Hi. It's me!
Bowie, MK, Priya, Zee, Owen, and Emma are excited to see her.
Bowie: THE NICHELLE LADONNA?! The star of Hot Team Ninja Detective Squad and Survivor?!
Emma: I've seen every episode! And I loved her in gorgeous people high!
Priya: (to herself) Be cool… Be cool… OMG! I AM LIKE YOUR BIGGEST FAN EVER!
Nichelle: Ok.
Priya then smacks her forehead as that was not cool.
Chris: Our next campers came at a package deal. All the way from northern Alberta!
The next camper- sorry campers- to arrive are two guys who are similar in height and clothes. The only difference is that the blond one has a red hat and brown pants. His shirt also has the letter C and the number 8. The other has blue pants. They're both wearing a shirt with a picture of a Snow Owl with hockey pucks under it. Before they step on the dock, they gaze at the water below them.
No hat guy: Duuuuuude. Imagine wintertime, this lake turning into ice.
Hat guy: Biggest hockey rink ever, bro!
Both then laugh until they step on the dock.
Chris: Welcome, Raj, and Wayne. Just walk behind me, please.
Wayne: So, is this everyone? What do you think, Rajie?
Raj: I'd be more impressed with a clogged toilet.
Ripper is the most upset with this insult and tries to think of a comeback but gets tongue-tied.
Raj: (Fake sympathetic) Oh no! I think this half-naked one's broken! (chuckles)
Wayne: Oh, be nice, Rajie. Maybe it's his first day with a new mouth hole!
Both then start laughing and holding their stomachs. Ripper blushes in embarrassment. He is about to do something about it, but Axel stops him. And now it's time for the last camper. She's wearing a similar style to Julia. She has a short shirt and pants, but not ripped. Her shirt is maroon, and her pants are dark green. She's also wearing sunglasses. On the lens, Raj, Wayne, MK, and Bowie can be seen. She doesn't look happy in the slightest. She takes off her sunglasses and angrily stomps past Chris.
?: No way. You must be joking.
Chris smiles which tells her he's serious.
?r: I'm calling my parents! You can NOT make me stay here!
Chris: Sorry, Heather, but you can't contact anyone! Phone, please!
Heather reluctantly gives him her only phone.
Chris: And now that everyone's here, we gotta get going. Thanks to you guys being chummy, we don't have enough time for a group picture for the promos. So, follow me to the campfire pit.
The campers do as they're told.
Chris: This... is Camp Wawanakwa, your home for the next eight weeks. The campers sitting around you will be your cabinmates, your competition, and maybe even your friends. Ya dig?
Chase smiles at Emma who angerly glares at him. Owen and Zee fist bump.
Chris: The camper who manages to stay on Total Drama Island the longest without getting voted off will win $100,000!
Duncan: 'Scuse me. What will the sleeping arrangements be? Because I'd like to request a bunk under her.
He points to Heather who gets wide-eyed.
Heather: They're not co-ed, are they?
Chris: No. Girls get one side of each cabin, and dudes get the other.
Heather breathes a sigh of relief. Chase groans in disappointment.
Chris: Here's the deal. We're gonna split you into two teams. If I call your name out, go stand over there. Bowie. Caleb.
Bowie smiles at his new teammate.
Chris: Emma. Heather. Izzy. Julia. MK. Nichelle. Owen. Raj and Wayne.
Raj and Wayne breathe a sigh of relief as they're on the same team.
Chris: From is moment on, you are officially known as... The Screaming Gophers!
Chris throws the Screaming Gophers their banner which has a picture of a green gopher who looks like it's screaming. Owen is the one that holds it.
Owen: Yeah! I'm a Gopher! Whoo!
Chase: What!? Come on!
Chris: The rest of you over here. Are known as… The Killer Bass!
Chris tosses their team banner to Axel. It has a picture of a redfish bass on it.
Axel: Good name.
Chris: All right, campers. You and your team will be on camera in all public areas during this competition. And as you can see over there, is an outhouse. You don't have to, but you can use the bathroom there. But that is our confession cam. You will be able to share your innermost thoughts on tape with video diaries anytime you want. Let the audience at home know what you're really thinking. Or just get something off your chest. But that comes later. Near the cabins are the actual bathrooms. They're as public as they look!
Chase, Courtney, and Heather nearly throw up hearing that.
Chris: Now head to your cabins. Go to your team's cabin and set up there. You have 30 minutes.
Millie: Excuse me, Chris? Is there a chaperone of any kind in this facility?
Chris: You're all around sixteen years old. As old as a counselor in training at a regular summer camp. So, other than myself, you'll be unsupervised. Meet me back at the main lodge after you unpack. Starting... Now!
Chase: Nice.
There are 4 cabins in total. There are team flags in between them, signifying where to go. Heather is the first to walk in and is not impressed.
Heather: Bunk beds? Isn't this a little... Summer camp?
MK: That's the idea, genius.
Heather: Ugh. Shut up.
Nichelle takes her own bunk. Julia and MK decide to share a bunk. Heather also takes her own bunk. Izzy tries to bunk with Nichelle, but she declines, so she also has her own bunk. She seems to be the only Gopher girl happy with their predicament. On the guy's side, Raj and Wayne share a bunk. Bowie, Caleb, and Owen take their own bunks.
Wayne: Our team sure has some real hotties.
Raj: For sure, eh!
Bowie: Ok. If you're gonna talk about me, I'll give you some privacy.
He then walks out much to the confusion of the hocky bros. Bowie sees Emma outside of her cabin as well.
Bowie: Hey there! You're Emma, right?
Emma: Yeah. What's up?
Bowie: Nothing much. I just wanted to know what's up with you and Chase.
Emma: Ugh. I really don't want to get into it. (groans)
Bowie: Don't worry. I don't plan on telling anyone if you do.
Emma: It's not that. I just don't want to work myself up.
Bowie: I understand.
Emma: I never got your name.
Bowie: Bowie. And I want to ask you something…
The first ever (Confessional: Bowie)
Bowie: As far as I noticed, this is a popularity contest and a fitness one. So, it's ok to make a friend.
(Confessional: Off)
On the Gopher girl side, Julia is setting up some flowers in a pot.
Julia: Flowers always make my soul happy.
Since the flower lover is distracted, MK decides to silently steal Julia's necklace and another phone.
MK: Oh yeah… I feel much happier now.
She smirks at a successful steal. On the Bass girl's side, Priya tries to look for a bunk. She tries one with Axel, but Axel's bag is so heavy, it makes Priya worry about her safety. She tries one with Scary Girl but immediately regrets it.
Scary Girl: Do you scream in your sleep?
Priya: Uh… no?
Scary Girl: Huh. We'll see…
Priya decides to bunk with Millie. Courtney decides to bunk by herself. Eva decides to bunk with Axel. On the boy's side, Duncan decides to bunk with Damien. Zee tries to bunk by himself, but Ripper decides against it.
Ripper: Hey! I called the bed beside the window!
Zee: I didn't hear you call dibs… Do you want the top or bottom-
Ripper grabs Zee's shirt so he's facing him
Ripper: I want whichever you want! Maybe we should fight for it.
Zee: Uh… Or I can just pick a different bed.
Zee decides to bunk with Chase.
Ripper: Yeah! You will! Good call!
Duncan tries his damn best not to laugh.
(Confessional: Duncan)
Duncan: (laughing) Oh man! Does that idiot think he has a chance to win?! (laughs)
(Confessional: Off)
After 30 minutes of setting up, the team heads to the main lodge. It has two tables for each team, but the campers line up to face the cook who looks like he would be in prison.
?: Listen up! I serve it three times a day... and you will eat it three times a day! Grab your tray, get your food, and sit your butts down now!
Everyone understands and refuses to talk. The "food" looks like red meat. Some of the campers could've sworn they saw the food move on its own. Owen, Izzy, Axel, Scary Girl, the Hockey Bros, and Courtney are the only ones to manage to eat all of it with seemingly only Owen enjoying it.
Chris: Welcome to the main lodge.
Chase: Yo, Chris. Can we order a pizza or something?
The Chef throws one of his knives which almost hits Chase's forehead.
Chase: (nervously) Whoa! It's cool! Brown slop is cool! Ha, ha. Right, guys?
Everyone except Zee, Eva, Owen, Scary Girl, and Axel nervously agrees.
Chris: Your first challenge begins... In one hour!
Nichelle: What do you think they'll make us do?
Chase: It's our first challenge. How hard can it be?
Turns out said first challenge involves a really high cliff.
[dramatic stings]
Chase: Oh, s-[bleep].
[credits]
And that was the first episode! :D As you can see, I wanted to do a what-if where the Reboot cast was on the original island but turns out 16 doesn't equal 22. So, I added 6 of the OG cast. I was planning on other picks like Leshawna, Gwen, or even Harold, but I think what we have is fine. I even had a plan with Gwen in which she fell for Bowie, but I scrapped that. Mainly because I wasn't sure where to eliminate her. So why did I go with what I did? Well of course I had to bring Heather. I just love Owen. I don't really show a lot of love to Eva, so now's my chance. Plus, I wanted to play with the idea of her and Axel being friends. I wanted at least one original couple here, so I added Courtney and Duncan. And I wanted justice for Izzy. I did her so wrong in my World Tour rewrite so now I'm gonna at least try to make her more interesting this time.
With the Reboot characters, it's obvious that they wouldn't be exactly the same. Since the show hasn't existed yet, Priya and Damien would be the most changed. Plus, I do ship them. Not that I don't like Priya and Caleb but missed the opportunity for Priya to show Damien the ropes of the game. Will they get together? You just have to see!

I think I'm gonna stop at Chapter 4. Maybe sooner. We'll just have to see.
