The branches swayed like a bunch of snakes in the wind of the dark, thick forest Bobby Santiago found himself lost in.
He doesn't really remember on how he had gotten into these woods, except that he had came out from his brightly lit room for breakfast, only to end up here with the door to his room straight up disappearing after exiting it.
Now alone, scared, and shaking in the cold. He soon found himself traveling through the woods, brushing past bushes, pushing his way through hand like tree limps with only the surrounding darkness as his only company as there were no birds, squirrels, or any type of animals around.
It also seemed like these woods were getting more and more thicker with each step he took, it's getting so thick that he was nearly brushing against the tree trunks.
Soon he came across two trees that are side by side with each other with a narrow gap right in the middle; that he would have to push himself through with a great amount of struggle and audible grunts.
After awhile of this. He finally gets himself through the gap in-between the trees and is rewarded with the sight of a clearing with a mound of dirt right in the middle.
The mound is the only thing worth looking at; as there is nothing else, but dead flowers and overgrown weeds all around the clearing. Why to Bobby's ever growing fear, it looked just like a grave, someone has just freshly finished filling in.
He didn't know if it was a grave, but he wasn't going to stick around to find out that's for sure. So slowly and cautiously going around the dirt, he keeps a watchful eye on it; out of fear for with this creepy place, it wasn't so far fetched that a zombie or skeleton hand would burst out of the dirt.
Unfortunately his fears came very true, but it wasn't either of those things. Instead; what burst out of the dirt, when he was halfway past it; was a clawed, brown hand.
It's sudden appearance causes Bobby to flinch back in fright. He falls to the ground getting all tangled up in the weeds as the clawed hand slams to the ground and pulled up a bear head covered in warts as its blue eyes menacingly glares at him with the top hat gleaming.
Lifting itself up further; the head revealed a mouth with more warts all around the lips and a double row of sharp teeth with thick saliva dripping out.
Panicking from the sight of the horrific bear, Bobby struggles to get himself free from the weeds that tangled themselves around his legs. All the while; the bear climbs itself further out of the dirt, revealing more warts throughout the body, a black bowtie, and even more horrifying; a second mouth on its belly with even sharper rows of teeth.
Now fully out of the dirt with some of the soil dropping from its body. The Twisted Freddy reaches for the struggling Bobby with one large hand, where it grabs him tightly by the ankle.
Lifting him up with ease, it tears him out of the weeds and holds him upside down. Releasing a few cries of panic, Bobby screamed bloody murder as the twisted thing shoved him into its stomach mouth, where the jabs of those teeth tears into him like a bean burrito.
Releasing a shout, Bobby sits up in bed; breathing heavily as he took account of the welcoming feeling of his new bedroom in Great Lake City.
It had been a very big surprise for both Bobby and Ronnie Anne. For what they thought was a nice weekend visit with their family, turned out to be a observation on how he and her would do with living with their family by their mother, who was highly considering on taking up a nursing job at the city hospital and move over here.
They probably wouldn't have even known about this whole plan, if CJ didn't blurt it out on the day they were supposed to be leaving. What happened next was a whole string of events, while he was excited on living here for he can finally have his dream job at the Bodega. His sister on the other hand was very much against it; as it was such a sudden big change for her, that she did anything to change his or their mother's mind with the help of Lori, who she had called over.
Admittedly with his excitement on his first shift at the Bodega, along with other circumstances. He either missed or got cut off by each of their plans to change his mind.
It had only been when Bobby caught her leaving did they have a long chat, where through a carefully thought out plan. They agreed that they can maintain their relationship through phone calls and video chats for the time being, until Lori goes to college close to the city, where they will both finally be able to hold each other again.
Although that problem had been taken care of; there was still his sister to content with. She had been bummed that her plan had failed and had gone to the front stoop to think, where after a talk with their mother, she nearly gotten her wish on returning home.
That was until, she found out that everyone in the family had converted the hallway closet into her own room with all of her favorite things inside, including her very own mini-fridge.
Touched that they have all done this for her, it managed to convince her that maybe living with their family in the city wouldn't be so bad after all.
And so; after having their stuff from their old home shipped over here, their mother getting the job, them getting enrolled to their new schools. Their new life in the city had begun.
Admittedly at first, it required a bit of adjusting upon living in the city, but they have managed to adapt into it with the help of their familia. Ronnie Anne even managed to get some new friends, including her best friend Sid Chang; their new neighbor living above them.
Life overall was great here. The only thing that really bothered him were these recent nightmares that he's been having of the animatronics from Freddy's.
Considering the horrors he experienced at his old security guard job, it's no wonder he started having these nightmares. But what's worse about having bad dreams of them?
Well; his dreams have turned them all into twisted versions of themselves with warts all over their bodies, razor sharp claws, and mouths full of nasty teeth is far times as worse.
If their nightmarish appearances haven't been enough for him, they all been acting like monstrous beasts as well. Running at him like nightmarish apes, unnatural roars, and a constant uncanny intelligence behind those burning eyes of hate.
Why it's thanks to these dreams that he's been getting less sleep with a ever growing fear of mounds of dirt. The only good thing about them was at least that when he got hurt in them, it didn't affect him in real life, unlike the previous dreams he had.
But regardless of that little detail. These dreams were becoming way too much for him to handle. Why it's getting up to the point that he is highly considering about going to a therapist and talk about them.
The big problem with that however was that if he started talking about the dreams. Freddy's will inevitably be brought up with all the details of his experience over there, which unfortunately; no one was exactly going to believe about living animatronics with the ghosts of murdered children powering them up. Most therapists will at best; dismiss this with logical explanations or at worse; label him as a total nutcase and send him over to the funny house.
It's the same for his family for besides his sister. They're not going to believe him, not even his abuela for even though she does believe in the supernatural, she isn't going to believe about the ghost children controlling animatronics.
But at least he can share his bad dreams with his sister. Having face on nearly being shoved inside one of those springlock suits, then being hunted down by Foxy. Left her with the same experiences he faced.
He had asked her if she's been having any nightmares on several occasions. She denied it, but call it brotherly instincts for he has heavy suspicions that she was having bad dreams as well.
Not knowing on what kind of nightmares she's been having made him very worried. If his dreams were intense, what exactly was she experiencing? If only she could just open up, then he could provide her with some comfort just like on how she was doing with him and his nightmares.
Releasing a low groan. He falls back on his pillow and stared up to the ever lighting ceiling. Soon his abuela would be up to make breakfast for everyone, then everyone else will wake up to begin the day with his mother, aunt and uncle heading off for work, his grandpa running the Bodega while he was at school, right along with Carlota, CJ, Carl, and Ronnie Anne. Leaving his grandmother to do her daily rounds throughout the apartment building.
It's a daily schedule that he has become very accustomed to. But besides the bad dreams he's been having, the only other thing that can ruin his day was.
Feeling a sudden pressure beside him. Bobby slowly turned his head to face Sergio laying down next to him with his head resting on the end of his wing. "Hey there. Had a pleasant sleep?"
Releasing a burp directly in his face, the smell of bird food hit him more harder than a fist. Recoiling in disgust, Bobby shoots out his bed, clenching his nose as he fanned out the foul odor. "Agh! Sergio!"
"Thought you could use a wake up call Skippy." Flapping his wings, the parrot flew through the open window, laughing to himself as Bobby shook his fist in frustration.
"You trouble making bird!" He shouted before slamming down the window and closing up the curtains.
Huffing back over to his bed, he sits there with both hands on his chin for it's utterly useless to go back to sleep now. Not with the stench of Sergio's morning breath hanging in the air.
Checking over to the clock on his nightstand, it's about fifteen minutes before everyone else would be stirring. He might as well head for the bathroom for his morning shower now, instead of waiting in his room for everyone else to get up.
Collecting his day clothes, he heads for the door with the sounds of the morning express passing by the apartment building.
Standing in the middle of a warm shower running down his body. Bobby scrubs himself with his washcloth in slow, steady circles as his head slowly dipped down with sleepy eyes.
Leaning himself forward, the water hits him in the face, stirring him awake with a startled gasp.
Oh boy. He sure hopes that this wasn't going to be a preview on how the rest of his day is going to be like. He's already been struggling to stay awake thanks to these blasted dreams disrupting his sleep cycle, and don't even get him started on how he nearly fallen into a deep sleep during English class.
He just had enough energy to win the fight against his body; as his eyes kept closing and his head jerked forward. It was only during math class that he had nearly fallen into a deep sleep, if it wasn't for a surprise fire drill to wake him back up in the nick of time.
But unless he can somehow stop himself from having these freaky nightmares. One day's for sure, he will ultimately fall asleep in either school or at work.
Maybe his abuela had a remedy for a dreamless sleep. She always has homemade remedies for everything else, so it's not a stretch that she has one for a dreamless sleep.
But if there is the off chance of her not having a remedy for dreams, then he's surely doomed to be in a constant tsunami of bad dreams.
"Oh. Just what am I going to do?" He groaned in despair.
Having about enough of his morning shower. Bobby shuts off the water and dries himself off as he stepped out of the tub. After that; he does his usual routine of hygiene before stepping on out into the hallway with the heavenly scent of abuela's food bringing him right out of his slump. Just like it always does.
Not wanting to miss any of her wonderful food for they would be gone in a heartbeat. He races for the table, where all of his family is already sitting there, including Sergio.
"What kept you?" He rhetorically asked while standing on his perch.
Ignoring the parrot, Bobby takes a seat and happily takes a plate full of food.
"Good morning Roberto." His grandpa addressed before taking a bite out of his own breakfast. Glancing over, he pauses a bit upon noticing the tired expression on his grandson's face.
"Morning grandpa." Bobby replied before letting out a short yawn.
"Oh boy nieto. You look a tad tired. Did you have trouble sleeping again?" He asked in a bit of concern for this has been going on for awhile now.
"You can say that." Releasing another yawn, Bobby stretched out his arms with a bit of a crack.
"Another bad dream." His uncle Carlos spoke up. "Studies have shown that a person having a series of nightmares are usually suffering from something traumatic they experienced."
"Must've been that old job you had. From how injured you were after that accident, it's a miracle you didn't suffer from any serious injuries." The thought of it; made his Aunt Frida burst into tears as the memory of first seeing his stitched up arm, along with the various bandages came as a real shocker to all of them. Thank goodness that all of his injuries have healed, besides those stitches that'll take some even more time to heal itself.
"I forgot. What happen at your old job to give you all those freaky injuries in the first place?" Carlota knew it had something to do with machinery, but the rest is a bit of a blur to her.
"You can say that singing robots are a bit more dangerous than what I originally thought. Especially if they have sharp hooks for a hand." It was all he could say without going over the whole possessed robots thing.
"Don't worry Bobby. If I were there, I would make that bad pirate walk the plank." CJ happily declared for a good pirate protects his crew.
"Thanks CJ. That means a lot." He doesn't know what chance CJ has against Foxy, but the whole protecting him speech is very heartwarming by itself.
"Nightmares are nothing. I never get scared by them." Carl suddenly boasted with a slight huff of his chest to show his manliness.
"Yeah. You definitely showed me that when you ran into mom and dad's room two days ago." Carlota teased, much to the ire of her little brother as he angrily glared at her.
"Well; I'm sure these nightmares will pass in time." His mother now spoke up. "If not. Then; it may be best to go see a therapist."
"Nonsense." Grandma Rosa interjected. "I have the exact remedy for this." Pulling out a handful of sugarcane from her pocket, she lights it up and waves it underneath Bobby's nose. Waking him up fully with the scent.
"Whoa!"
"Works every time." She proudly proclaimed as her remedies have never failed her. Still; as a grandmother though, she's a bit worried about her grandson's current situation with these bad dreams. Fortunately for Bobby however, she fully believes that she has the perfect solution to his problem.
A solution in the form of soup. Cream of apple soup more specifically. The perfect soup to deal with unpleasant dreams.
"That definitely did the trick abuela. I feel that I just had a couple cups of coffee." Now he won't have to worry about falling asleep in class; well that's a big hope.
"Your very welcome nino. Now eat up. We don't want you going to school on an empty stomach." She'll simply wouldn't allow it.
Eating together; the family enjoyed their breakfast with general talks of what's going to be happening today from Carlota having a science test, Frida working on an interesting art piece, Carlos giving a lecture on the solar system, and Rosa having a leaking pipe situation in Mrs. Kernicky's apartment. There were also several shenanigans throughout the table, mainly from Sergio and Hector trying to sneak in more food, only to be thwarted by Rosa's chanclas.
After breakfast; the family all put away their dishes into the sink before heading out for the day.
Jumping her skateboard over the front steps of the school. Ronnie Anne lands perfectly on the top, where patiently waiting for her; Sid claps her hands together as that was an awesome trick, her best friend had just pulled off. "Smooth landing like always Ronnie Anne."
Giving her a double high five, Ronnie Anne loved the praise as she feels that her skateboarding skills are getting more better every day. "Thanks Sid. How's your skateboarding doing?"
"Really great. You know those two trash cans at the park?"
"Yes,"
"Well; guess who finally managed to jump over them?" Proudly pointing to herself, Sid could hardly contain herself. "This girl!"
"That's great Sid!" Finally managing to pull off such a jump is always rewarding of itself, especially when the previous attempts would've ended with Sid crashing around or in the trash cans.
"It sure is Ronnie Anne. No more having week old fish in my pants or day old noodles in my hair." Those items, right along with the other forms of trash aren't a nice feeling, neither is washing them off.
"Do you think that I'm ready for a half pipe yet?"
"Probably should do a little more practice tricks first." Ronnie Anne seen accidents during half pipe tricks before, and she didn't want her best friend to end up in a nasty accident.
"You sure? I feel like that I am ready." She is just too eager to pull it off. She'll grind a pipe just like Sonic The Hedgehog.
"Trust me Sid. Before you start doing any of the bigger tricks, you need to continue with practicing on the smaller ones." It's what she did when she first started out on skateboarding tricks and look how she turned out.
Sid wasn't so keen on that, but then again; Ronnie Anne is a far more experienced skateboarder than her. "I suppose your right."
"Don't worry. Once you get those tricks nailed down. Successfully pulling off a much more unique trick will be very more rewarding." She assured as that's what she felt, when she pulled off her first unique trick.
"Yes sensei." Lowering herself down in a playful bow, the two friends happily laughed as they wandered into the school.
As usual; the halls of the middle school were lively by other students, especially from Becky, who is currently in a arm wrestling match against one of the football players. Slamming the guy's hand down, the guy not only lost the match, but also fell to the ground with a rather loud slam.
"Yeah! Take that chump!" Raising her hands up in victory, she releases a series of victorious whoops, while the dazed guy laid on the floor, wondering on how that girl was so strong?
Watching from a distance. Sid visibly cringed for that guy practically got slammed down like a gazelle getting tackled by a hungry lion. "Poor guy."
"He sure tasted the floor." Ronnie Anne remarked just before letting out a low yawn. "Excuse me."
"Still having sleep problems?" She asked.
"You don't know the half of it." Letting out another yawn. Ronnie Anne thought back to her own nightmares, she's been dealing with.
Very much like her brother. Her dreams all involved Freddy's, except; unlike Bobby who had to deal with Twisted Animatronics, her dreams were vastly different. So far; she's been dreaming of being trapped inside that hippo thing before getting crushed by those robotic parts, Foxy appearing in her room; chopping off both an arm and a eye just to make her look like a pirate, being stalked by a animatronic dog, and more recently; her hiding in that ball pit from Freddy, only to get dragged into the pit by that yellow rabbit.
She knows full well that Bobby highly suspects her of having nightmares, but she kept it to herself for once Bobby knows, the whole family would know shortly afterwards, then cue them all crowding around her, coming up with various ideas.
It would be nice to have support, but way too chaotic for her liking. Which is why she only confined with Sid on these recent sleep problems, minus on any great details of what actually happens in these dreams.
"Those dreams must be really something. It reminds me of the time; I had a nightmare about being stuck in a box, down on the ocean floor." Shivering, she can just remember the water slowly leaking in as the mighty pressure of the ocean depths slowly began to crush the box."
"That's creepy."
"Tell me about it. I was afraid to go underwater for awhile. I couldn't even go underwater in the bathtub." Water pressure was no joke. A person can get crushed into paste in less than a second.
"How did you ever get over it?" She's seen her go underwater plenty of times at the city pool. She was like a fish with how much time she spent underneath.
"I told myself that it was only a dream. Bought a pair of goggles that covers up your nose, and submerged myself underwater in the bathtub. It was a bit scary, but overtime; I slowly got over that fear and look at me now. I'm a regular crocodile." Sid proudly declares.
"I think my situation is entirely different from yours Sid." Ronnie Anne however pointed out.
"What happens in your dreams?" Sid asked.
"It'll be very hard for you to believe."
"Don't worry Ronnie Anne. I'll believe whatever you'll say." Sid remarked for as a certified best friend, she is obligated to be by Ronnie Anne's side through and through.
"Okay then. Let's just say that my dreams involve robots." That was the only detail she is willing to give, everything else is best to keep to herself.
"Robots?" Sid repeated before giving out a bright smile. "Your in luck Ronnie Anne."
"I am?"
"Yep. For it just so happens that your good buddy has a certain talent, when it comes to robots." Sid didn't wanna boast or anything, but her time in robotics class has awaken an unknown talent within her.
"Why don't you come on down to robotics class during lunch hour, and I can show you the project that I've been working on."
"That would be cool." She has been curious over on what Sid's been tinkering on ever since she joined up robotics class. Besides; at least those robots wouldn't have ghosts inside of them.
"Prepare to be amazed. As your going to absolutely love it." High-fiving each other. The two friends have a set plan; as they both walk towards their lockers to prepare themselves for their first classes of the school day.
