A/N: And I'm back with another AU (that's how many at this point?)! It was in my head for a while, but I always forgot to write it down. I figured I should after somewhat watching this series my mom was watching on Netflix (though it was dubbed into English as the words never matched the lip movements or the captions) that helped inspire me to get this written out. Hope you guys enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's. That goes to the respective owner(s). I only claim my OCs. Also, a bit of violence in this alongside slightly more mature themes (not too much to bump up but it's hinted) and get ready to rinse Ren's mouth out with soap.

Undercover AU- A Timely Rescue:

(Ren's POV)

I spat a wad of blood onto the ground after the latest punch to the gut. My hands were restrained above my head by handcuffs while the assholes around me tried to get me to talk. The reason being I slipped up and got found out for being a rat which led to me being dragged to the empty building to be strung up and used for a punching bag. They hadn't yet gotten worse than knocking me around, but I knew it wouldn't be long before the big boss man got bored with it and got serious.

"Ya ready to talk, rat?" one of the goons sneered. He got up in my face, so I could smell the breath of someone that smoked and never brushed their teeth.

"Piss off," I spat.

The boss, a medium sized stout man with greasy slicked back gray hair, waved him off. He came up to me, taking the cigar out of his mouth. "I must say, I'm disappointed in you, Mori," he drawled. "You had been quite the household name. Loyal to your group, ruthless to your enemies, and showing the authorities how big of fools they were. It was quite the shame when you got caught, and now look at you. Nothing but the lap dog for them."

"Pff, cry me a damned river," I snapped back. "You're just peeved that my skills moved off the streets. Maybe if guys like you weren't stringing me along for years, you'd still have a one up against the cops."

"You could rectify this, you know." He grabbed my chin to keep my head up and staring at him. "Leave those police high and dry. Come back to the streets. I'm sure I could ask my colleagues to reconsider...given you have the resources to make it up, that is."

"Tch..." I knew what that meant. It wasn't a secret that I was known for fooling about, especially if I knew it could get some information out of targets. Not my proudest moments in my life, but until I got the way out of the street life I just told myself it was a necessary evil toward getting what I wanted.

"What do you say, Mori? Can't exactly be easy to restrain yourself around that cop that always follows you. Everything can be rectified with one response."

"What do I say...? How about..." I managed to get a good sized glob of spit and launched it into the bastard's face. "That?! Like hell I'm gonna go back to my old life!"

"Gah! Why you son of a-" He didn't get to complete his sentence when the doors to the building burst open.

"Police! Hands up, everyone!" someone shouted on a megaphone. Well, I'm already complying there.

"How?! How did they find us?!" the boss yelled.

"Oops, guess you weren't as thorough as you thought," I chuckled.

"What are you..." His eyes glanced to my pierced ear. I always had them pierced even before getting caught, so he and the goons never thought to check. "Why you-!" He pulled out a gun only to have it shot out of his hand. He cried in pain, clenching his bleeding hand.

"Sorry, not today," a familiar voice said. Then Yusei came into view as he reached up to undo my bonds. "Hold still, I'll get you down."

"Not like I can move much," I retorted tiredly. He got my hands free and caught me before I could fall onto the ground. "Oof, yeah that's a broken rib."

"Hold on." He turned his head. "I need a medic over here!"

"Aw, already got the docs at the ready? You're so sweet."

"Well we aren't exactly going to be able to uproot this underground empire with you six feet under. Besides, we didn't know if they would have booby-trapped the entrance or not."

"Pff, naw, they got sloppy. And they figured I wouldn't have this as a tracker." I undid the piercing, holding it in my hand.

"Put that back in, just in case."

"Yes, dear." I put it back in just as a gurney had rolled up.

I got strapped in and surprisingly wasn't handcuffed. "What, no extra precautions this time?"

"Kind of doubt you're going to pull a runner after all this time, especially with your injuries."

"Well, whatever my parole officer decides is best, I guess." I leaned back on the gurney while being carted into the ambulance. I took in a deep breath and released it, along with all that bravado that kept me awake for so long.

A/N: A bit short with this, but I didn't want to drag it out as it's still quite a work in progress. Not even sure I have much inspiration other than if I watch shows like Bones again, but then I get the risk of doing the Bones/Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's crossover that features my other OC Aurora instead of Ren. Well, see you in the next bit!
