The school auditorium buzzed with the chatter of gods and goddesses in training, their divine auras filling the air with a palpable energy. Orion, Elysia, and Selene found seats near the middle, exchanging glances as they settled in. The grand stage, adorned with celestial symbols and glowing softly with ethereal light, awaited the speakers of the day.

Elysia glanced at Orion, who was looking around with mild disinterest. "Do you think they'll address anything important today?" she whispered.

Orion shrugged, his eyes catching a glimpse of Lyra a few rows ahead, her silver hair shimmering under the auditorium lights. "Probably just the usual welcome speech," he muttered. "Rules, expectations, and all that."

Selene leaned in, her eyes wide with curiosity. "I'm excited to see what the school year holds," she said. "There's so much to learn and so many people to meet."

As the lights dimmed, a hush fell over the crowd. The headmistress, a tall and regal figure with an aura of commanding presence, stepped onto the stage. Her voice, amplified by some divine mechanism, echoed through the hall.

"Welcome, students, to another year at the School of the World," she began, her tone both warm and authoritative. "Here, you will hone your abilities, learn to harness your divine powers, and prepare to take your places among the pantheon. Remember, your actions here shape not only your future but the balance of the world itself."

Orion leaned back in his seat, crossing his arms. He could feel Lyra's presence nearby, a constant reminder of their rivalry. He glanced at Elysia, who was listening intently, her eyes reflecting her dedication and eagerness to help others.

The headmistress continued, "This year, we are pleased to welcome several new students, each bringing unique talents and potential. We expect you to embrace the challenges ahead, support one another, and strive for excellence in all that you do."

Sophia, seated a few rows behind Orion and Elysia, adjusted her glasses, her mind already calculating the best strategies for excelling in her studies. She glanced at the empty seat next to her, missing Xion's presence but understanding her friend's need to balance her duties as the goddess of Night and Death.

"As many of you know, there are unique aspects to our existence as gods that you must understand fully. First and foremost, a god can only be killed by another god. If a human attempts to kill a god, the god will not die but will be left in a state neither of life nor death. If their bodies are destroyed by a human, they can regenerate almost instantly."

A murmur ran through the crowd as the students absorbed this crucial information. Orion felt a shiver run down his spine, the implications of these rules weighing on him.

"However," the headmistress continued, her gaze sweeping over the students, "humans can still pose a threat to us if they possess Celestial weapons. These weapons have the power to kill a god, and their use is strictly monitored and controlled. It is essential for you to be vigilant and aware of this danger."

Elysia's eyes widened in concern, her protective nature already thinking about the potential threats to her friends and fellow students. Orion clenched his fists, the mention of Celestial weapons reminding him of the constant battles and dangers they faced.

"Another crucial rule," the headmistress added, "is that a god cannot reveal their true identity to a human unless absolutely necessary. The balance between our world and the human world is delicate, and revealing your identity can have significant consequences. Only under dire circumstances should this rule be broken."

The students exchanged worried glances, understanding the gravity of the headmistress's words. The complexity of their responsibilities and the potential dangers of their existence weighed heavily on them.

The headmistress concluded her speech with a final note of encouragement. "Remember, each of you has the potential to shape the world. Embrace your powers, support your peers, and strive for greatness. Together, we can achieve anything."

With that, the auditorium erupted in applause, and the students began to disperse, ready to face the challenges of the new school year. Orion, Elysia, and Selene stood up, exchanging determined looks.

"Well," Orion said, cracking a small smile, "let's get this year started."

As they made their way to the exit, a small, eager god with bright eyes and a mischievous grin approached Orion. "Hey, are you Orion?" he asked, bouncing on his toes.

Orion raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, that's me. Why do you ask?"

The mini god's eyes widened with excitement. "Are you the one who went to school with Elysia and Selene?"

Orion nodded without thinking. "Yeah, I did."

The mini god's face lit up with a grin. "Wow, that's so cool! You must have some amazing stories. Can't wait to hear all about it!"

Orion gave a casual nod and continued walking with Elysia and Selene. However, he didn't realize the potential impact of his innocent admission. As word spread among the students, curiosity and speculation about Orion, Elysia, and Selene's past together would begin to ripple through the school, drawing attention and possibly complications they hadn't anticipated.

Elysia gave Orion a concerned look. "You might want to be more careful about what you say, especially around here," she advised gently.

Orion shrugged. "It's just school. What's the worst that could happen?"

Selene, always optimistic, smiled. "I'll handle whatever comes my way, just like always... I think."

The halls of the School of the World bustled with activity as students made their way to their respective classes. Orion lagged behind Elysia as they entered their classroom.Orion sighed, glancing around. He wasn't particularly excited about the first day of classes, but he knew he had to show up. As he approached the classroom door, he noticed it slightly ajar. Shrugging, he pushed it open.

Suddenly, a bucket tipped over the doorframe, and a cascade of rocks came crashing down on him. The sudden weight and impact knocked him to the ground, the rocks clattering around him.

"Ugh, what the—" Orion groaned, rubbing his head. He looked up to see Lyra sitting innocently at her desk, her eyes sparkling with mischief. She hid a sly smile behind her hand, pretending to be shocked like everyone else in the room.

The class erupted in laughter, the students amused by the spectacle. Elysia and Selene quickly rushed to Orion's side, helping him up and brushing the rocks off him.

"Are you okay?" Elysia asked, her voice filled with concern.

Orion's eyes narrowed as he glared at Lyra, who now wore an expression of fake concern. "Yeah, I'm fine," he muttered, his pride more bruised than anything else.

Sophia stood up from her seat, adjusting her glasses as she assessed the situation. "That was clearly a trap. Someone did this on purpose."

Lyra's innocent act didn't fool Orion for a second. He knew she was behind it, but there was no way to prove it without looking paranoid or vengeful.

"Alright, everyone, settle down," the teacher said as they entered the room, clapping their hands to get the students' attention. "Take your seats. Let's get started with the lesson."

Orion, still fuming, took his seat next to Elysia. She leaned over and whispered, "Don't let her get to you, Orion. She just wants a reaction."

Orion gritted his teeth and nodded. "Yeah, I know. But this isn't over."

Professor Celestalis stood at the front of the classroom, a tall figure with an air of wisdom and authority. His presence commanded respect, and the students gradually settled into their seats. As the homeroom teacher, he began with the usual introductions and classroom rules.

"Good morning, class. I am Professor Celestalis, and I will be your homeroom teacher for this year. We'll be covering various subjects essential for your development as gods and goddesses. Remember, your actions here will reflect on your future roles in the pantheon."

While Professor Celestalis continued with the routine announcements, some of the mini-gods in the back of the room began to gossip. Their whispers floated through the air, barely noticeable but persistent.

"Did you hear? Orion came to school with two girls."

"Yeah, Elysia and Selene. Isn't that interesting?"

"I wonder what's going on there..."

Despite the whispers, most of the class seemed uninterested or too focused on their own thoughts to pay attention. Orion sat with a look of boredom, his chin resting on his hand as he stared at the front of the room. He was only half-listening to Professor Celestalis when a piece of paper suddenly flew through the air and landed on his desk.

Curious, he unfolded the note and saw Elysia's neat handwriting.

"Hey Orion, Isn't it such a coincidence that we're in the same class? I actually like it. :) -- Elysia"

Orion smiled faintly and grabbed his pen. He scribbled a quick response before folding the paper and tossing it back to Elysia.

"Yeah, it's nice to have some familiar faces around. Makes things a bit more bearable. -- Orion"

As he sent the note back, Orion's gaze shifted towards Lyra. He watched her, wondering what she was plotting next. She seemed to be engrossed in her own thoughts, not paying him any mind.

Just as he was about to turn away, another piece of paper landed on his desk. This one was from Elysia again.

"Also, I wanted to say thanks for sticking up for me earlier. I really appreciate it. You're a good friend, Orion. -- Elysia"

Orion felt a warmth in his chest at her words. He glanced at her and saw her smiling softly at him. He quickly wrote back.

"No problem, Elysia. Always got your back. -- Orion"

Professor Celestalis continued to explain the curriculum, the assignments, and the expectations for the year. He moved smoothly from topic to topic, his voice a steady cadence that filled the room.

"And now," he said, pausing in his lecture, "are there any questions?"

Sophia, who had been listening intently, immediately raised her hand. Professor Celestalis nodded in her direction. "Yes, Sophia?"

Sophia stood up, adjusting her glasses. "Professor Celestalis, you mentioned that our studies will cover various subjects essential for our development as gods and goddesses. Could you provide more specifics on the curriculum? For instance, will we have practical training sessions, or will it be more theoretical in nature?"

The class fell silent, all eyes on Sophia. Her question reflected the curiosity and eagerness many of them felt but hadn't voiced. Professor Celestalis smiled, clearly appreciating the thoughtful question.

"An excellent question, Sophia," he said. "Our curriculum is designed to balance both theoretical knowledge and practical application. You will have classes in history, divine law, and ethics, which will provide a strong theoretical foundation. Additionally, there will be practical training sessions where you will learn to harness and control your divine powers, engage in combat training, and participate in simulations that mimic real-world scenarios."

He paused, looking around the room to gauge the students' reactions. "Furthermore, there will be opportunities for you to work on collaborative projects, where you will solve problems and create solutions as a team. This will help you develop not only your individual abilities but also your skills in working with others."

Sophia nodded thoughtfully, satisfied with the answer. "Thank you, Professor."

Professor Celestalis continued, "It's important to remember that while you are here to learn and grow, you are also part of a larger community. Supporting one another and working together will be key to your success."

As the class absorbed this information, Orion felt a renewed sense of purpose. The combination of theoretical learning and practical training sounded challenging but also exciting. He glanced at Elysia and Selene, who both seemed equally intrigued and ready for the journey ahead.

Lyra, however, remained unreadable, her expression neutral as she listened. Orion couldn't shake the feeling that she was plotting something, but for now, he pushed those thoughts aside and focused on the task at hand.

Professor Celestalis wrapped up his introduction with a few more instructions. "We will begin our first session with an introduction to divine history. Please open your textbooks to page one hundred and twenty."

As the students opened their books, Orion felt another nudge from Elysia. She passed him one more note.

"Let's make this year great, together. -- Elysia"

Orion smiled and nodded

Lyra sat quietly, her mind racing despite her composed exterior. She pondered how she would succeed in all the exams. Dropping all pretense of scholarship, she began to think like a typical mini god, focusing on finding the quickest, most effective ways to achieve her goals.

Meanwhile, Orion's thoughts drifted to the upcoming combat experiences Professor Celestalis mentioned. The prospect of honing his fighting skills excited him, and he couldn't wait to tell his sister about it. He imagined how jealous Lyria would be, knowing he would get to train in combat scenarios. A smile played on his lips as he thought about how much fun it would be.

His train of thought was interrupted by a crumpled piece of paper landing on his desk. The handwriting was sloppy, but he recognized it as Selene's. He unfolded the note and read it:

"ey, Elysia, Orion, Les meat up after schul in the garten. I gave somethin to discus. -- Selene"

Orion chuckled at the messy writing and quickly scribbled a response.

"Sure thing, Selene. And maybe work on your handwriting next time? ;) -- Orion"

He tossed the note back to Selene, who shot him an annoyed look as she read it. She scribbled a quick reply and threw it back at him.

"Shut up, you jerk! See you there. -- Selene"

Elysia, who had received the same note, glanced at Orion and smiled, nodding to show her agreement. Orion felt a surge of camaraderie and anticipation. Whatever Selene wanted to discuss, it sounded important, and he was glad to be part of their little group.

As Professor Celestalis continued with the lesson, Orion did his best to focus, but his mind kept drifting back to the upcoming meeting. He knew that with Elysia and Selene by his side, he could face whatever challenges came their way.

Lyra, still lost in her thoughts, glanced briefly at the trio. She couldn't help but feel a pang of envy at their apparent bond. She quickly pushed the feeling aside, refocusing on her own plans and how to stay ahead in the competitive environment of the School of the World.

The rest of the class passed in a blur, with Orion managing to pay attention enough to jot down some notes. Finally, the bell rang, signaling the end of the period. The students began to gather their things, and Orion, Elysia, and Selene exchanged knowing looks.

Selene led Orion and Elysia through the school grounds to a cozy corner where an ice cream tent stood, adorned with colorful banners and twinkling lights. The air was filled with the sweet aroma of various ice cream flavors, and a cheerful tune played from a nearby speaker.

"I've been coming here ever since I was a little girl," Selene said, a nostalgic smile on her face. "The ice cream sellers know me well."

As they approached, a middle-aged couple behind the counter beamed at Selene. "Selene! Long time no see!" the woman called out.

"Hey there, Mrs. Astra," Selene replied warmly. "I brought some friends with me today. We're here to have some fun."

Mrs. Astra and her husband nodded enthusiastically, already reaching for their scoops. "What'll it be today?"

Selene turned to Orion and Elysia. "Order whatever you like. The payment's on me."

Orion's eyes lit up mischievously. "Anything? Alright, then. I'll have the most expensive flavor you've got."

Selene's eyes widened in shock. "What? No way, Orion! Do you have any idea how expensive vanilla is here?"

Orion chuckled with a smug look. "You said it's on you, remember?"

Selene groaned but couldn't help smiling. "Fine, fine. Just this once. But if I go broke it's your fault!"

Elysia laughed and ordered a simpler flavor. "I'll just have a strawberry cone, please."

As the ice cream sellers prepared their orders, Orion noticed the unique currency they used. Instead of dollars, they handed over small, glowing coins called Celestials. Each coin had a different symbol representing various celestial bodies, and their value seemed to fluctuate with the glow's intensity.

"Here's your order," Mr. Astra said, handing them their ice creams. "Enjoy, and have a great day!"

They found a nearby bench and sat down, enjoying their treats. Orion savored his ice cream, pleased with his choice. "This is really good."

Selene rolled her eyes but smiled. "I'm glad you like it. I wanted to make up for what I did, and I figured this would be a fun way to start."

Elysia nodded, her eyes sparkling with gratitude. "Thank you, Selene. This is perfect."

As they continued enjoying their ice cream, Orion turned to Selene, curiosity getting the better of him. "So, Selene, how did you end up being so late today?"

Selene sighed and took a deep breath. "I have ADD. It causes me to get distracted very easily. I was on my way to school, but I got sidetracked by a butterfly, then a flower, and then a really cool rock."

Orion raised an eyebrow, half-amused, half-incredulous. "I've never seen someone as stupid as you for getting distracted so easily."

Selene puffed out her cheeks in a comically victimistic way. "Hey! It's not my fault! My brain just works differently."

Elysia chuckled, trying to defuse the situation. "It's okay, Selene. Everyone has their quirks."

Selene huffed playfully before asking, "So, what were you guys doing before class?"

Orion and Elysia exchanged a look before answering. "We were just getting to know the school and dealing with some of the typical 'first-day chaos,'" Orion said.

Elysia nodded. "The rest you should already know."

Selene looked impressed, her eyes wide. " I gotta say I really own you standing up to me when the headmistress found us late. You guys are like superly heroes in those stories, saving the day and all. It's like one of those tales where the knight rescues the damsel in distress. Except here, the knight is you two, and the damsel is... well, maybe me?"

Elysia blushed at the comparison, her cheeks turning a soft pink. "It's not quite like that," she said, embarrassed.

Orion, however, remained indifferent. "Whatever you say, Weirdo. We're just doing what we have to do."

Selene laughed, enjoying the banter. "Well, I'm glad to have you guys around. It makes things a lot more interesting."

As they were chatting, an unexpected figure appeared. Lyra approached the ice cream tent, her presence instantly souring Orion's mood. He tried to mask his irritation, knowing that Selene and Elysia would ask questions if they noticed.

Lyra, in her usual sophisticated manner, looked at the trio with mild curiosity. "What an unusual group we have here," she remarked, her tone cool and composed.

Selene, unfazed, smiled brightly. "Maybe it's destiny," she said with a playful wink. As she said that, she suddenly recognized the girl in front of her. "Wait a minute... Lyra? Is that you?"

Lyra's demeanor softened as she recognized Selene. "Selene! It's been ages."

Without hesitation, Selene jumped up and hugged Lyra, calling her "bestie." "I can't believe it's you! We were best friends since preschool!"

Lyra returned the hug, a genuine smile on her face. "It's so good to see you, Selene."

Elysia watched the reunion with a warm smile, while Orion tried to keep his composure, though the tension in his body was evident. He focused on his ice cream, hoping to avoid any direct interaction with Lyra.

Lyra, noticing the group dynamic, asked Selene, "Why are you being so sweet today? What's the occasion?"

Selene, always the serene atmosphere-loving girl, waved off the question with a small laugh. "I don't want to talk about it. Let's just say I'm in a good mood."

Lyra nodded, accepting the answer without pressing further. She then turned to Orion and Elysia. "Well, it's nice to see you both here. I hope we can all get along this year."

Orion forced a polite smile, trying to hide his annoyance. "Yeah, sure."

Elysia, ever the peacekeeper, added, "It's great to have more friends around."

Selene, still holding Lyra's hand, beamed. "Let's make this year amazing, bestie!"

The atmosphere, while initially tense, began to lighten as they continued talking. Orion, though still wary of Lyra, felt a slight sense of relief that she seemed to be in a friendly mood. He knew that maintaining a good relationship with her, at least on the surface, would be beneficial.

"Allow me to introduce myself properly. I am Lyrialuna Selunara Diademara Ignisiana Celestria, but you can call me Lyra. I am the Moon Goddess."

She paused, letting her name sink in before continuing. "I've worked with Selene countless times on various projects in the past. She's been a faithful servant of the brilliant moon, always dedicated and reliable."

Selene blushed slightly at the grandiose description but smiled warmly. "Thanks, Lyra. It's always a pleasure working with you."

Lyra's narcissistic side peeked through as she added, "Of course, it's only natural for a being as magnificent as myself to attract such loyal and hardworking individuals."

She then turned her attention to Orion, extending her hand with a polite, albeit somewhat haughty, smile. "And you must be Orion. I've heard quite a bit about you."

Orion, feeling the familiar irritation bubbling up, eyed Lyra's hand with a mix of disdain and reluctance. He shook his head, a smirk tugging at his lips. "I'd shake your hand, but my hands are freezing right now."

Lyra raised an eyebrow but didn't press the issue. "Oh, I see. Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, nonetheless."

Elysia, sensing the awkward tension, quickly interjected with a cheerful tone. "We're all getting to know each other better. It's great to have you here, Lyra."

"Why don't you hang out with us, Lyra? We'd love to get to know you better."

Lyra, her smile as radiant as the moonlight, accepted with ease. "Of course, I'd be delighted. I was planning to join you anyway."

Selene chimed in, her tone a mix of playful and practical. "By the way, Lyra, I covered the ice cream for everyone. Does that include you now?"

Lyra's expression remained haughty as she replied, "Oh, that's simply a servant's duty. I'm used to it."

Elysia, catching the playful tone, responded with a mock-serious demeanor, cartoonishly wide, teary eyes. "Understood, ma'am. We'll make sure to serve you with the utmost respect."

The group burst into laughter at Elysia's dramatic response.

Lyra, seemingly pleased by the interaction, took a seat with the group. "Well then, let's enjoy our time together. It's always wonderful to make new friends and catch up with old ones."

As Lyra joined the group and the conversation continued, Orion's mind was racing. 'So, it looks like she's pretending like she's meeting me for the first time,' he thought, a smirk playing on his lips. 'Fine, I'll play along.'

He glanced at Lyra, noting her composed and seemingly genuine demeanor. If she's around, there's a good chance I'll get the match I've been clamoring for. She can't resist a challenge, and neither can I.

Orion's expression remained neutral, but his thoughts were sharp and focused. He was determined to keep up the pretense of meeting her anew, even though he was well aware of her true identity. The prospect of a potential challenge excited him, and he was eager to see how things would unfold with Lyra in their midst.

Back at the school, Sophia was diligently organizing documents in the library. She was focused on her work when she received a brief message from Xion, her stoic friend, who was in a different class. Xion's message read: "Class is fine. Meet me when you're ready."

Sophia responded to the message while finishing up her tasks. "Xion's class must be adequate if she says so. I'll catch up with her soon."

As she wrapped up her work, Sophia's thoughts drifted back to Elysia, Orion, and Selene. the trio she had met earlier. While she couldn't see much from them in class as she was too focused on her studies. She was already fascinated by their distinct personalities and dynamics.

There's something intriguing about each of them, she pondered. I need to analyze them more closely to uncover what makes them unique.

Sophia was particularly interested in how they interacted and what set them apart from others.

Elysia's kindness, Orion's rebelliousness, and Selene's calm yet playful demeanor. There's much to explore.

Determined to gather more information, Sophia prepared to meet Xion. Her mind was already buzzing with thoughts about how to approach her observations and what questions she might ask.

With her plans in place, Sophia headed towards her meeting spot with Xion, eager to share her thoughts and discuss her findings. The prospect of uncovering the trio's mysteries was exciting, and she looked forward to delving deeper into their stories.

1 Day before the tragedy.

Sophia received a message from Xion, asking to meet her in a secluded part of the school. When Sophia arrived, she found Xion waiting with a serious expression.

Xion handed Sophia a small, mysterious object wrapped in a protective cloth. "The headmistress gave us these," Xion said, her tone grave. "We've been given two Oblivion Spheres. I'm supposed to give one to you."

Sophia's eyes widened as she carefully unwrapped the cloth, revealing the glowing sphere within. The Oblivion Sphere was an unsettling object, capable of disintegrating human memories, identities, and more. All you had to do was throw it towards a person's head and they would practically be born again. And it dictates thatthe effect is instant. However, depending on how mentally weak or strong the victim is they could havetheir brains completely shut down.Worst case scenario. They could even die. Its very presence seemed to cast a shadow over the room. "This is...!"

Sophia's hands trembled slightly as she held the sphere. "I can't believe it. This is..."

Xion nodded. "Yes, it's the Oblivion Sphere. We received them because we're the second top students in our classes. The headmistress must think we might need them. She seemed to have used her principle in order to make yours light as a feather, knowing your bodily weakness."

Sophia's mind raced as she processed the gravity of the situation. The power of the Oblivion Sphere was immense and dangerous. Its use was a last resort, something that could alter lives in unimaginable ways. The responsibility of holding such an artifact was heavy, and Sophia felt the weight of it pressing down on her.

'With my future line of work i believe i have no use for this object...' Sophia thought. 'Still i should keep it with me just in case.'
