Flashback first thing in the human morning
I had just closed my door and buckled my seatbelt when I was suddenly pulled into Lissa's head. The rage I felt from her caused my body to shake as tears leaked from my eyes. Lissa was looking at Christian who looked startled and freshly showered since his hair was still dripping wet and his lack of shirt.
"You lousy son of a bitch! How could you cheat on me with that fucking cheap ass filthy blood whore?" Lissa shrieked, as her hand came into contact with his face. Christian's face turned with the force of her slap and his jaw dropped out of shock. I felt the pain radiate through Lissa's hand like I was the one that had slapped Christian.
"What the fuck are you talking about Lissa?" Christian yelled at her after the shock wore off. "Whatever is going on we were nasty disgusting people to Rose, you know damn well she is not a blood whore or anything else that we called her." He stated and took a step forward. "I am not cheating on you and definitely not cheating with Rose. You know she's like a sister…" Christian got cut off by another slap to the face.
"You lying bastard!" Lissa screamed as she pushed the photos into Christian's chest. "I want absolutely nothing to do with you and that pathetic whore!" She stated as she slammed his door.
"I have to figure out what is going on and apologize to Rose before it's too late!" Was the last thing Lissa heard before Lissa stormed down the hall. She put up a mental block which slammed me back into my body. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I stared out the window for the rest of the ride to the airport.
End flashback
We arrived at the airport without any trouble. Only small conversations were going on during the ride, since no one knew what to really say. I haven't said a word since leaving the Queen. My mind was still trying to process everything that had happened. I knew my friends were under Tasha's compulsion, but the betrayal was real. The pain was real and my heart felt like a bloody shredded mess. No one said a word about my silent crying in the back seat or the dried tear tracks on my face, as we got out of the SUV's and started grabbing our stuff to head onto the plane. I didn't bother to tell them that I was pulled into Lissa's head this morning. I didn't even realize I had spaced out standing there unmoving like an idiot holding my bags until a hand was snapping inches from my face.
"Rose, it's time to board the jet!" Damon said as he snapped his fingers for the last time.
"Yes, but I have a feeling we should wait a few more minutes." My gut was telling me that someone was coming.
"Good or bad feeling Roza?" Alek asked with his guard on high alert.
"Let's just say we are going to need an extra seat and enough booze to knock out two heartbroken people" I stated matter of factly. I held up my hand to cut off any objections. "Dad with what I just went through and what Christian went through this morning… He's definitely going to need booze."
"How do you know Christian is coming, Rose?" Abe asked with a not so pleasant look on his face.
"Long story short, Christian had a very bad morning like I did last night. And it went south when he tried to defend me… So whatever influence he was under is now gone. He went looking for me so he should have found the note." I was cut off by the revving of a motorcycles engine. Everyone turned to look as Christian pulled up next to one of the SUV's.
"Is that my bike?" Nate said in a confused tone. I snickered and grinned. It was so like Christian to steal Nate's bike. "Stealing a bike might have been on his bucket list." Nate rolled his eyes as the driver removed his helmet and sure enough it was Christian. Everyone started boarding the plane to give us some privacy.
"Rose, I'm so sorry and I know what I said to you was absolutely disgusting. I can't excuse my behavior but I was under a spell. Aunt… No Tasha, she gave me a family heirloom before the dance. I believe it was charmed. It was silver and the only thing I was given. I turned it into the Queen before I left." He was rubbing his arm in a nervous manner. "Rose I'm really sorry this happened to you."
"Rose it's time to go, we are wasting daylight." Abe yelled from the top of the stairs of the plane. His face was giving nothing away. I grabbed my last bag and glanced at Christian. There was a look of defeat on his face as I turned and started heading to the plane. I made it to the bottom of the stairs and rolled my eyes because Christian wasn't following me.
"Are you coming Sparky, we don't have all day?" I spoke bluntly as I turned to look at him. "I've been expecting you all morning!"
"You know what happened…" I just shrugged my shoulders and turned to head up the stairs. "Of course you know…" He scoffed as he followed me up the stairs. "Why do I always get humiliated in front of you when you aren't even physically there?" He mumbled to himself as we put our stuff away. Alek hid a grin but he was amused by the interaction between the two of us. I plopped down in the empty seat facing Damon. Christian sat next to me so he was facing Nate.
Alek got up from his chair and disappeared into the back. "Rose, I'm sorry…" I turned my head so Christian could see me roll my eyes at him. "What? I really am sor…" He cut himself off when I gave him a pissed off look.
"Christian, if you apologize for the compulsion one more time. I'm going to one up Lissa by punching you instead of slapping you."
"What is the story behind that?" Alek asked with a raised eyebrow as he set a giant tray filled with alcohol and cups on the table in between the four of us. "It's not my story to tell, it's his." I said honestly. If this was any other time I would have loved to throw this in Christian's face, but enough damage was already done. And Christian really didn't need me throwing something like this in his face. Alek nodded in understanding. "If you know who asks I didn't give you the supplies." He stated firmly with a wink before heading back to his seat.
I grabbed two glasses and filled them with whiskey, and then I handed one of them to Christian. "Here's to compulsion ruining our lives." I said sarcastically before taking a giant swig.
"And who said these two could drink?" Abe said with a stern face, looking like the mobster he's rumored to be. Christian sputtered at being caught with alcohol.
"I told you earlier dad there better be booze for the broken hearted people." I rolled my eyes and took another swig. Meanwhile Christian spit his mouthful into his cup as he started coughing. Abe smirked as Christian caught his breath.
"Dad?" Christian questioned dumbfound. Leaving me with the same damn smirk on my face.
