52. Chapter 51

Chapter 51: Bubba Bubbaphant Vs Howard Howler (Harriet): Chains Of Brotherhood

Bubba, Bobby and PickyPiggy meanwhile were sprinting on the streets as they were following the pink pillar of light close to them.

"Wherever the closest pink light is at, we'll see what's going on!" Bubba said, "And it looks like it's just a few inches away from our left!"

Then, the three saw some critters running away.

"It's definitely coming from that light!" PickyPiggy said, "Let's go!"

As they went over to their left, they saw the light shining in the middle of the street.

"Why would a light shine down on a random street?" Bubba wondered, "Makes no sense."

"Guys, look!" Bobby said, "Someone is near the light!"

What they all saw was another Masked Critter in red and black, slowly looking at anyone in his path. He then looked at Bubba and his friends and slowly walked towards them. Bubba, Bobby and PickyPiggy braced themselves for who's to come. Stopping midway, the Masked Critter deactivated his mask. Red smoke started to come out of the mask as he then took it off, revealing his face. It was Harriet, and to Bubba, it's a familiar face.

"Wait… Aren't you Howard Howler?!" He said,

"...My name isn't Howard anymore." Howard said, "It's Harriet."

"But… You're Holden's older brother!"

"Brother? I never had a brother… I failed to even protect one, same for a family. What I was born to protect, is The Hour Of Joy."

"There's no joy around here!" PickyPiggy said,

"Yes!" Bobby said, "You're hurting a lot of people and even trying to force them to join you!"

"Do you really believe in your own lies?" Howard asked,

"That's the truth!" Bubba said, "And we feel like you need to understand it as clearly as day!"

"By?"

Bubba walks forward.

"I know you have a Duel Disk at your hand." He said, "The other masked critters have them."

Howard smiled as he activated his Duel Disk without hesitation.

"So be it." He said,

"Well, that's a quick response." Bubba said as he and Howard got into position while Bobby and PickyPiggy moved out of the way, "Don't take this personally though, I'm about to make you eat my words as the truth."

"We'll see what happens. Because it's time for a Shadow Game!"

"Shadow Game?",

"A Shadow Game is when your life is at stake in this duel. If you win, then I'll go away. If I win, then I'll take you to Hell and back as one of us."

"Bubba…" Bobby said, worried,

"Don't worry, I'll get through this." Bubba said to Bobby,

"But your luck nowadays when you duel is sorta… not in the right place." PickyPiggy said,

"I might find a good use for my luck in this duel, Picky."

"...Ok, good luck." Bobby said as she and PickyPiggy hugged Bubba,

"Thanks."

Bubba activated his Duel Disk and straightened his glasses as he was face-to-face with Howard.

"Shall we?" Bubba asked him,

"Indeed we shall." Howard replied,

"Duel!" Both shouted to start the duel,

Turn 1

Bubba Bubbaphant: 4000

Howard Howler (Harriet): 4000

Bubba and Howard then drew 5 cards to start the duel. Bubba looked at his hand.

"Huh… I've seen worse." He said, "I'll see what I can do."

"Can I start?" Howard asked,

"Go ahead."

Howard smirked.

"Thank you." He said as he looked at his hand and played a Field Spell, "I'll start by activating the Field Spell, Archfiend Palabyrinth!"

The Field Spell, Archfiend Palabyrinth activates.

"All Fiend monsters I control gain 500 ATK Points." Howard said, "Which will power up my deck for me to defeat you easily."

"I'll survive and win this duel." Bubba said,

"Hmph, we'll see about that."

Howard then sets a card.

"I'll set a card." He said as he then Normal Summoned a monster, "And then I'll Normal Summon Unchained Twins - Rakea in Attack Position!"

Unchained Twins - Rakea was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 1500 ATK Points, but was raised to 2000 through Archfiend Palabyrinth's effect.

"And now I'll activate Rakea's effect, which lets me destroy a card I control." Howard said,

"Huh?" Bubba said, "You mean the card you just set?"

"Of course."

Rakea then destroyed Howard's set card, being the Spell Card, Abomination's Prison.

"And that was my Spell Card, Abomination's Prison." Howard said, "When destroyed by card effect, I can Special Summon an Unchained monster from my Deck!"

"No way!" Bobby said, "He can destroy a card like that just to Special Summon more Unchained monsters!"

"Well, I'd best be careful." Bubba said,

"Of course you should!" Howard said, "Because of Abomination's Prison's effect, I can Special Summon Unchained Soul Of Shyama!"

Unchained Soul Of Shyama was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 2000 ATK Points, but was raised to 2500 through Archfiend Palabyrinth's effect.

"And when a card is destroyed by battle or by card effect, I can Special Summon Abominable Unchained Soul from my hand!" Howard said,

Abominable Unchained Soul was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 3000 ATK Points, but was raised to 3500 from Archfiend Palabyrinth.

"Already a 3500 ATK Point monster?!" PickyPiggy shouted, "Damn!"

Howard then sets a card in his Spell and Trap Zone.

"Now I'll set another card." He said, "And pass the turn to you."

"About time!" Bubba said, "My turn!"

Bubba draws to start Turn 2.

Bubba then smiled.

"Been waiting to use this card for a while now!" He said as he played a Spell Card, "I play the Spell Card, Polymerization!"

"Yes!" Bobby said,

"Here it is!" PickyPiggy said,

"Ah, a Fusion Summon." Howard said, calmly,

Bubba then sends two of his Cyber Dragons to the Graveyard.

"I'll be using 2 of my Cyber Dragons as Fusion Materials!" He said as he started to chant while a Fusion Summon started, "Join your other self together to form double the power of the cybernetic horizon! Fusion Summon!"

A Fusion Monster that's from the 2 Cyber Dragons appeared.

"Strike twice now, Level 8, Cyber Twin Dragon!" Bubba shouted,

Cyber Twin Dragon was Fusion Summoned in Attack Position with 2800 ATK Points.

"Alright!" PickyPiggy said, "That's enough to take down two of Howard's monsters!"

"Time for battle!" Bubba shouted as the Battle Phase started, "Cyber Twin Dragon, attack Unchained Soul Of Shyama with Double Cyber Shock!"

Cyber Twin Dragon then charged up one of the heads blasts to blast it at Shyama. Howard smirked.

"Not so fast, smartass!" He said, "I activate my face-down card, the Trap Card, Escape Of The Unchained!"

Escape Of The Unchained was activated.

"What's this?" Bubba said,

"A Trap Card that lets me destroy an Unchained monster I control and a card on the field!" Howard replied,

"Oh crap!"

"Looks like my Unchained Twins - Rakea and your Cyber Twin Dragon are destroyed!"

Rakea and Cyber Twin Dragon were destroyed through the effect of Escape Of The Unchained.

"And now for Rakea's effect." Howard continued, "When destroyed by card effects except for its own, I can Special Summon another Unchained monster from my Deck!"

"He's bringing out another one!" Bobby said,

"And this one will be different! So say hello to Unchained Twins - Sarama!"

Unchained Twins - Sarama was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 1500 ATK Points, but gained 500 more through Archfiend Palabyrinth.

"Great." Bubba said, "This doesn't look good. But…"

Bubba then sets 2 cards in his Spell/Trap Zone.

"I set 2 and end my turn." He said,

"Good, it's my turn!" Howard said as he draws to start Turn 3,

Bobby was worried.

"Come on, Bubba, you gotta find a way to turn this duel around…" She said to herself,

"Now I activate the effect of my Unchained Twins - Sarama." Howard said, "I can target another Unchained card in my graveyard and set it to my field, then I destroy 1 card I control."

Howard then sets Abomination's Prison.

"And since I've set Abomination's Prison, I'll destroy it again." He said as Abomination's Prison was destroyed, "And then it triggers the effect when destroyed by card effect while set!"

"Here comes another Unchained monster!" Bobby said,

"This time I'll Special Summon Unchained Twins - Aruha!"

Unchained Twins - Aruha was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 1500 ATK Points, but gained 500 more through Archfiend Palabyrinth.

"And get ready, Bubba, because I'm creating the circuit that opens the doors to Hell!" Howard shouted as a Link Circuit has appeared,

"A Link Summon?!" Bubba said, shocked,

"He can Link Summon with these monsters, huh?" PickyPiggy said,

"The summoning conditions for this Link Monster are 2 Fiend monsters." Howard said, "So I'll use Unchained Twins - Sarama and Aruha as Link Materials!"

Unchained Twins - Sarama and Aruha were used as Link Materials as they were sent to the Bottom Left and Bottom Right Link Arrows.

"Link the Circuit!" Howard said, "I Link Summon, Link-2, Unchained Soul Lord Of Yama!"

Link-2 Unchained Soul Lord Of Yama came out of the Link Circuit as they were Link Summoned in Attack Position with 2000 ATK Points, but gained 500 more through Archfiend Palabyrinth.

"And when Yama is Special Summoned, I can add an Unchained monster from my Deck or Graveyard to my Hand." Howard said as he added Unchained Twins - Aruha from his Graveyard back to his Hand, "And I'll be returning Unchained Twins - Aruha back to my Hand."

"What else do you have?" Bubba asked him,

"Simple. I then activate Aruha from my hand! By destroying 1 card I control, I can Special Summon him back to my field!"

Abominable Unchained Soul was destroyed.

"You destroyed one of your bigger monsters?!" Bubba said,

"I did!" Howard replied as Unchained Twins - Aruha was Special Summoned back to the field in Attack Position, "And it will be worth it, because I'll be recrearing the circuit that will open the doors to Hell!"

The Link Circuit appeared again.

"Now the summoning conditions on this monster will require at least 2 monsters, including a Link Monster." Howard said, "So I'll be using Unchained Soul Lord Of Yama, Unchained Twins - Aruha and Unchained Soul Of Shyama as Link Materials!"

Howard's Link Materials all went to the Top, Bottom Left, Bottom and Bottom Right Link Arrows for the next Link Summon.

"Link the circuit once again!" Howard shouted as he started to chant, "When the doors to the underworld open up, it will reveal a powerful new shadow that will rid the world for a new one in this dark hour! Link Summon!"

A powerful new monster slowly came out of the Link Circuit with purple flames and chains surrounding it.

"Descend to destroy, Link-4, Unchained Abomination!" Howard shouted,

Unchained Abomination roared as it was Link Summoned in Attack Position with 3000 ATK Points, but gained 500 more through the effect of Archfiend Palabyrinth.

"Oh my God…" Bubba said,

"That's a scary beast…" Bobby said,

"His name is Unchained Abomination, so it would make sense." PickyPiggy said,

"Now, for battle!" Howard said as the Battle Phase started again, "Unchained Abomination, attack Bubba directly! Unchained Destruction!"

Unchained Abomination then roared as a shockwave of purple dark magic appeared to attack Bubba.

"Not so fast!" Bubba shouted as he revealed one of his face-down cards, "I activate the Continuous Trap, Shadow Spell!"

Shadow Spell was activated as black chains came out of the card to chain up Unchained Abomination.

"Not only does your monster can't attack, it loses 700 ATK Points!" Bubba said,

"Hrghhh…" Howard groaned, disgusted,

Unchained Abomination's attack was canceled and its ATK Points were dropped down to 2800.

"No worries…" Howard said as he sets a card in the Spell and Trap Zone, "I'll set this card and end my turn, which will then trigger one of my Unchained Abomination's abilities."

"Oh?" Bubba said,

"During the End Phase, I can destroy a card on the field. So I'll be destroying your Shadow Spell to free my Unchained Abomination!"

Shadow Spell was destroyed by Unchained Abomination's roar, returning it's ATK Points to 3500.

"Now for Abominable Unchained Soul's effect from my Graveyard!" Howard said, "During the End Phase, when it was destroyed on the field and sent there this turn, I can Special Summon it back to the field!"

Abominable Unchained Soul was Special Summoned back to the field in Attack Position.

"Now, I end my turn." Howard said, "Try and defeat me like this, Bubba."

Bubba then took a deep breath and drew to start Turn 4. He was in a sticky situation with Howard's Unchained monsters. He looked at the card he drew.

"Ok, this should do." He said as he straightened his glasses and played the card he drew, "I summon Cyber Dragon Core!"

Cyber Dragon Core was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 400 ATK Points.

"It's treated as the name Cyber Dragon while on the field or in my Graveyard." Bubba said, "And when Normal Summoned, I can add a Cyber Spell or Trap from my Deck to my Hand!"

Bubba does so as he adds Cyber Revsystem from his Deck to his Hand.

"And that will be the Spell Card, Cyber Revsystem, for me to activate!" He said as he does so, "This lets me Special Summon a Cyber Dragon from my Hand or Graveyard, so I'll be Special Summoning back one of my original Cyber Dragons from my Graveyard!"

Cyber Dragon was Special Summoned back from the Graveyard in Attack Position with 2100 ATK Points.

"And now, create the Link Circuit that will brighten up the future!" Bubba said as a Link Circuit has appeared for him, "The materials required for this Link Summon are 2 Machine monsters including a Cyber Dragon. So I'll be using my 2 Cyber Dragons I have on the field as Link Materials!"

Cyber Dragon and Cyber Dragon Core went to the Left and Bottom Link Arrows as Link Materials.

"Link the circuits!" Bubba shouted, "Now, feast your eyes on a new dragon built from a more mobilized cybernetic technology! Link Summon!"

A familiar Link Monster came out of the Link Circuit.

"Blast into the cybernetic horizons, Link-2, Cyber Dragon Sieger!" Bubba shouted,

Cyber Dragon Sieger was Link Summoned in Attack Position with 2100 ATK Points.

"Hey, it's Sieger!" PickyPiggy said,

"Haven't seen Bubba use that card in a while." Bobby said, "Let's hope it's enough!"

Cyber Dragon Sieger was glaring at Unchained Abomination. Howard smirked.

"So you can also Link Summon, huh?" Howard said, "Not bad. Show me what it can do."

"Well like most Cyber Dragon monsters, this card is treated as Cyber Dragon while on the field or in my Graveyard." Bubba said, "And then there's an effect that will be useful for me to progress in this duel! And that will happen in the Battle Phase, right now!"

The Battle Phase started again.

"Now, Cyber Dragon Sieger can target a Machine monster I control with 2100 or more ATK Points and have it gain 2100 more!" Bubba said, "But neither of us take damage with attacks involving Cyber Dragon Sieger for the rest of this turn."

Cyber Dragon Sieger's ATK Points were doubled to 4200.

"Cyber Dragon Sieger, attack Unchained Abomination!" Bubba shouted, "New Cyber Energy!"

Howard smirked again.

"You fell for it!" He said, "I activate the Continuous Trap, Fiendish Chain!"

Fiendish Chain was activated.

"Oh!" Bubba shouted, shocked,

The chains from the card came out of it and chained up Cyber Dragon Sieger, lowering its ATK Points back down to 2100.

"Not only did I cancel your monster's attack, but I negated its effects!" Howard said,

"Crap!" Bubba said as he grew worried, "That was my best solution for a comeback! Damn it, what am I gonna do?!"

"Hey!" A voice shouted, "Bubba! There are you! Crazy stuff is happening out here!"

"Huh?"

"Hmm?" Howard wondered, "Who could that be?"

Holden then appeared.

"Holden! What are you doing here?!" Bobby said,

"H-Holden?" Howard said, shocked,

Holden then heard his name as he turned to Howard.

"H-Howard?" He said, shocked, "Bro, is that you? Wh-Why are you… wearing that? And dueling Bubba?"

"I…" Howard replied, speechless, "I don't know what to–"

Then, the pink light shot down red lightning at Howard.

"GAHHHHHH!" He shouted in pain,

"HOWARD!" Bubba and Holden shouted,

Holden then ran over to his brother.

"Wait! Holden!" Bobby said as she tried to stop him, but Holden couldn't resist, "No!"

After the lightning struck Howard, Holden went over to his brother to check on him.

"Bro!" Holden said, "Oh my God, are you ok?!"

When Holden checked his arm, Howard reacted.

"HANDS OFF OF ME!" He shouted as he shoves Howard away with that arm,

Everyone else gasped.

"Oww…" Holden said as he fell to the ground,

"Why would you do that?!" Bubba shouted, "That's your brother?!"

"I never had a brother…" Howard replied, "I never had a family in the first place!"

Howard's eyes glowed pink instead of white.

"Uh-oh." Bubba said, "The lightning made him mad."

"Hurry up and end your turn!" Howard said, "I will defeat you!"

Bubba gulped as he set another card face-down in the Spell and Trap Zone.

"Ok, I set a card." He said, nervous, "Your turn."

"Before my turn… Unchained Abomination!" Howard shouted, "Destroy one of his face-down cards! The one on the left!"

Unchained Abomination then roared as one of Bubba's face-down cards he set was destroyed, being a Solemn Strike.

"That card came too late." Bubba said,

"Alright, NOW it's my turn!" Howard shouted,

On Turn 5, something glowed purple on Howard's arm that didn't have the Duel Disk on it. It was the mark of the monkey.

"Grrr… My mark… It's calling out to me." Howard said as he placed his fingers on the top card of his Deck, "And I will answer it!"

Howard then draws to look at the card he just drew.

"Perfect." He said, "I have found my trump card. And I will use it right now!"

"Uh-oh." Bubba said,

"Now, I sacrifice my Unchained Abomination and my Abominable Unchained Soul!"

"What?! You're sacrificing your two powerful monsters?!"

"I am!"

Unchained Abomination and Abominable Unchained Soul were used as Tributes for a Tribute Summon to a rock floating in the sky that took over the light. It started to absorb dark magic as Howard was holding up the card he drew.

"Wh-What is this?!" Bubba said,

"This… This is who we bring during our Hour Of Joy!" Howard said as he started to chant, "The beast inside me will be unleashed and break the chains of my past to crush you to Hell!"

Howard then started to play the card.

"I summon Earthbound Immortal Cusillu!" He shouted as the rock in the sky exploded to summon the monster,

Everyone braced for impact as a giant black-colored monkey with yellow lines was summoned from the rock. It was Earthbound Immortal Cusillu as he was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 2800 ATK Points. It looked down at Bubba.

"Oh… my God." Bubba said, "I'm not gonna win this one."

"Of course you're not." Howard said, "My monster can attack you directly, of course, you don't have any monsters. And let's not forget, as long as I have my Field Spell on the field, he's staying!"

"Field Spell…"

"Battle!"

The Battle Phase started.

"Earthbound Immortal Cusillu, attack Bubba directly!" Howard shouted as he pointed at Bubba, "Get a first taste of what your Hell will look like!"

Cusillu then raised a fist in the air to attempt to strike the ground. Bubba laughed a bit.

"What's so funny?" Howard asked him,

"You know something, Howard?" Bubba asked him, "You just made a big mistake."

"What mistake?!"

"You've destroyed one of my face-down cards, yeah, but both of them were able to take down your Cusillu!"

"What are you talking about?!"

"I reveal my other face-down card, the Quick-Play Spell, Mystical Space Typhoon!"

Mystical Space Typhoon was activated.

"NO!" Howard shouted in shock,

"That's right!" Bubba shouted, "This destroys a Spell or Trap on the field! And since your only one is your Field Spell, I'll destroy your Archfiend Palabyrinth!"

Mystical Space Typhoon then destroyed Archfiend Palabyrinth.

"Without a Field Spell, then my Cusillu is… GONE!" Howard shouted,

Cusillu was seen slowly fading away.

"NO! CUSILLU!" Howard shouted,

"Looks like your turn is over!" Bubba shouted, "No cards on the field or in your hand! So it's my turn!"

Bubba draws to start Turn 6. He looked at the card he drew and smiled.

"I'm back." He said as he played it, "I activate the Spell Card, Overload Fusion!"

Overload Fusion was activated.

"This lets me Fusion Summon a DARK Machine monster by banishing cards from my Graveyard as Fusion Materials! Since I have 5 Machine monsters, I'm banishing them all! My 2 Cyber Dragons, my Cyber Dragon Core, my Cyber Twin Dragon and my Cyber Dragon Sieger!"

The 5 Cyber Dragons were then banished as Fusion Materials for a Fusion Summon.

"Combine all of your cybernetic energy to become a powerful Dragon full of overwhelming energy!" Bubba chanted, "Fusion Summon!"

A Cyber Dragon with many heads appeared.

"Roar into play, Level 9, Chimeratech Overdragon!" Bubba shouted,

Chineratech Overdragon was Fusion Summoned in Attack Position. It gained 4000 ATK Points.

"And it gains 800 ATK Points times the number of materials used for its Fusion Summon!" Bubba said, "And since I used 5, it gained 4000!"

"That's enough to defeat me!" Howard shouted,

"Yes it is!"

"Impossible! Nobody defeats a Dark Critter like me! NOBODY!"

"Well now it is possible, and that nobody is me. Sorry, but that's the truth! Battle!"

The Battle Phase started one more time.

"Chimeratech Overdragon, attack Howard directly with Chimera Cyber Blast!" Bubba shouted,

Chimeratech Overdragon then fired its blasts from its multiple heads at Howard, dealing 4000 points of damage to him.

"NOOOOOO!!!" He shouted as his Life Points were drained down to 0, ending the Duel,

"Yeah! He did it!" PickyPiggy shouted,

"Bubba has won!" Bobby shouted, "And neither of them damaged one another until that final attack!"

Cusillu then faded away completely as Howard lost the duel. The pillar of pink light then faded away as Howard was on the ground, weakened. Holden then went over to his brother to try and get him up. Bubba, Bobby and PickyPiggy then went over to Holden.

"Bro! Are you ok?!" Holden said to Howard,

"Ugh…" Howard said, weakened as his eyes were returned to the normal white pupils, "Holden… I'm sorry…"

"No, it's ok. Tell me, who did this to you? Who made you like this?!"

"I… I don't know who… All I know is that… He's one of the 7 Dark Critters like me."

Howard looked at Bubba.

"Bubba… Thanks for that duel." He said, "And thanks for freeing me… I'll see you guys later… once all of this is over…"

Howard then slowly faded away into the light as Holden was confused and emotional.

"Wh-What did he mean?!" He shouted as he got teary-eyed, "One of the seven?! There's 6 other Dark Critters?!"

Bubba then patted Holden on his shoulder.

"We'll get to the bottom of this, for you." He said,

Holden sniffed as he got himself together.

"Thanks." He said,

Bubba then got himself and Holden up.

"Come on, let's help out the locals." He said, "The Hour Of Joy is affecting them as well."

"What about Bobby and Picky?" Holden asked,

"Me and Bobby want to take care of the other pillars." PickyPiggy said,

"Right." Bobby said, "We want to do our part as well."

"Sounds like a good idea." Bubba said, "Come on, Holden. Good luck, Bobby, Picky."

"Yeah, good luck." Holden said, "And thanks, Bubba, for freeing my Bro."

"You're welcome." Bubba said, "Come on, let's go!"

Bubba and Holden went away as Bobby and PickyPiggy looked at the next closest pink light up ahead and looked at each other and nod before running to it.
