I'm so happy you enjoyed that first chapter. I think this maybe a very short story. Maybe another 2-3 chapters.

I can't do this. I don't love him.

I have to do this. It's the only way they will stay—he will stay.

Plus, I made the Volturi a promise. Otherwise, we'll all be dead. The only way Edward would keep his end of the bargain to change me is if I agreed to marry him.

The night of my disastrous birthday party, I knew. I knew then; I did not love Edward Cullen.

FLASHBACK

It all happened so fast, yet I saw it as if it were in slow motion.

The paper sliced threw my finger. A miniscule drop of blood rose to the surface of my finger.

As Jasper stepped back, my eyes focused on his movements. I looked at his eyes and they were golden, but becoming slightly darker.

I turned to look at Carlisle. Of course, his eyes were perfectly golden. However, the fear I saw in his eyes, I didn't understand.

Then time righted itself. The speed at which I went flying through the air and landing into the table of crystal was astounding.

Carlisle was at my side as soon as my ass hit the floor.

Jasper had been subdued by Emmett and Rosalie. His eyes were now pitch black, as the blood flowed freely from a cut that was nearly from elbow to wrist on my arm. There was so much blood that I nearly passed out.

Emmett, Rosalie, and Alice were now ushering poor Jasper out of the house.

The way Edward looked at me with such hatred and disgust, had me cowering in on myself.

Carlisle had now placed his hand over the cut to try and staunch the flow of blood. He was whispering to me.

"I've got you. Look into my eyes, sweet girl. I've got you," he repeated over again. As I looked into his beautiful topaz eyes, at that moment, I fell helplessly in love with Carlisle Cullen.

END FLASHBACK

I managed to reign in Alice and her wedding planning. I've heard of bridezillas but is there such a thing as wedding planning-zillas?

I told her no guests. Why would I want this farce of a wedding to be witnessed by people I'm never going to see again after I'm changed?

I didn't know how we were going to do this without a minister. That is until my big brother, Emmett said he could get a license to marry us through the internet. God, you've gotta love the big goof.

I had no other family except for Charlie, my dad.

After coming home from school one day and finding a note from my shit-for-brains mom, Renee', stating she'd paid the rent 'til the end of the month. That I would either have to keep up the rent or find another place to live. She didn't want to do this anymore.

I kept up the bills for another two months, with my meager savings and my job at the pizza parlor down the street. Then I finally called Charlie.

To say he was livid is an understatement. He flew down to Phoenix the next day. He helped me pack what I wanted to keep. And sell whatever furniture was salvageable.

He rented us a U-Haul, and we drove back to Forks a week later.

So inviting Renee was a non-issue.

The look on my face must have told Charlie something wasn't right.

"Look kiddo, you don't have to do this. You don't have to marry the little shit. Just say the word, and we're outta here."

It was just the family and Charlie in the garden of the Cullen mansion. Carlisle was crucial in reeling Alice in. He kept reminding her to follow my wishes to the letter. That it was my wedding, not hers. To remember the last time she planned something I didn't want, namely my disastrous birthday party.

As Charlie walked me into the garden and down the short aisle, I know I should have been focused on Edward. But my eyes sought out Carlisle's immediately. There he was, standing with Esme. He gave me a small, but sad smile. It looked like there were venom tears in his eyes that could never fall.

Once Charlie and I reached the alter, Charlie took longer than necessary to place my hand into Edward's outstretched hand.

"Daddy," I finally whispered.

Charlie stepped in front of Edward, blocking his view of me. "You don't have to do this sweet pea. All you have to do is say the word. I love you Bells."

"I know. I love you too, Daddy. It's going to be fine." I told him. All the while I feel like I'm stepping up to the guillotine.

Charlie closed his eyes in resignation, let out the breath he seemed to have been holding, placed my hand into Edward's waiting one. I watched Charlie as he took his seat on the other side of Esme.

"Dearly beloved. We are gathered here…" Emmett began.

Flashback

Carlisle was standing between my spread thighs as I sat on the desk in his study. As he pulled the glass out of my arm with tweezers, I tried to focus on the plink, plink of the glass into the dish, to distract myself from inhaling Carlisle's scent of fresh clean linen and old leather bound books. Carlisle smelled like a man, while Edward's scent was too sweet and slightly feminine.

"Do you ever think about giving in and feeding the traditional way?" I asked as Carlisle continued to clean and stitch my arm.

"I've only ever wanted to help people, Bella. Even if my soul is already damned, if you believe as Edward does."

"Damned?" I asked, confused. "You mean as in hell? No, Carlisle you could never be damned."

He looked up at me then. His eyes seemed to sparkle in that moment. Without thinking, I leaned forward and kissed him on the lips.

He stiffened at first. Then he suddenly grabbed me around the waist, pulling me forward on the desk. His other hand found purchase at the back of my head to hold me in place. My legs instinctively went around his hips, trying to get as close as possible. And as suddenly as it began, Carlisle pulled away. He placed both hands over his face.

"I'm sorry, Carlisle. I don't know what I was thinking. I--I—I…"

He was back in front of me as fast as he left, placing a finger to my lips to quiet me.

"No, you have nothing to apologize for my sweet girl. Do you know how long I have wanted to do that. It's just…"

It was I, then, that cut him off. " I know. I have Edward and you have Esme…" we were both interrupted by a soft knock on the door. I however, did not miss the look of confusion on his face, before Esme flitted into the study.

"We need to get you back downstairs, dear. Edward is on his way back to take you home." She said aloud for my benefit. I know, however, she and Carlisle had a private conversation, as I saw their lips moving, but the pitch was at vampire level.

END FLASHBACK

"…let them speak now, or forever hold their peace." I looked to my dad as I'm brought back to the present. He's holding one of Esme's hands, while his other arm is draped over her shoulders. He leans forward when I look at him, as if he's ready to spring from his seat.

For the first time, since I've arrived at this makeshift alter, I look up into Edward's face. It's a cold, blank mask. As if he's performing a business transaction, not getting married.

I look to Carlisle. And to quote a phrase from Jasper, 'he looked as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs.' Which is funny and odd at the same time. As I didn't think vampires became nervous. But he caught my eyes. They were pleading with me. At the same time I began slipping my hand out of Edward's, Edward's head snapped to Carlisle.

Carlisle sprung from his seat, just as Edward grabbed me by the throat and pulled me to him with my back flush to his chest. I could feel more than hear the low guttural growl coming from his chest.

The last thing I remember is Edward sinking his teeth into my neck
