I don't own Star Wars or its characters, but Nadia Aomori and my other OCs I own only.
Enjoy!
Fire of the Rebellion
Chapter 1: A Life in Hiding
After leaving Lisa with the Naberries, Nadia and Ferus went to Varykino Villa which was the place they were to live for the time being.
Nadia smiled as she and RG-G1 followed Ferus inside the villa.
The building itself was made of a yellow rock and had red roofs topped with copper-green domes.
The rooms of the villa were linked by both wide marble hallways and outdoor gardens.
Notable areas of the house included the Room of Morning Mists, an open air veranda that overlooked the lake.
"So this is where and your family went for the holidays?"Nadia assumed.
"That's right. This was also Padmé's secluded safe haven that she visited throughout her career as both Naboo's Queen and Senator."Ferus exclaimed with a small smile."During the Separatist Crisis, she hid away at Varykino with Anakin to escape an assassination plot. The two later married at this estate following the outbreak of the Clone Wars."
Nadia suddenly sensed a grief of sadness wash over Ferus causing her to hug him from behind.
"It will be alright, Ferus."Nadia murmured."Sorry that if I bought back-"
"It's fine. I just still can't believe all this happened, Dia."Ferus declared, struggling not to cry."Anakin and Padmé were both so excited to become parents. But now both of them are now gone and neither of them would ever know their own children."
Nadia gave Ferus a gentle yet reassuring embrace.
"It's not your fault, Ferus. We all played right into Sidious' hands."Nadia admitted, her voice mixed low but had a hint of anger in it."He was one step ahead of us during the war that he orchestrated and he is likely still several steps ahead of us."
RG-G1 let out a gentle beep.
Ferus, Nadia and RG-G1 went to sit in the room that had a sofa and a fireplace nearby.
Nadia then placed off the beige cloak she had on before she gave it to Ferus and he placed it on a hook hangar before doing the same with his own.
Ferus went over to Nadia.
"Do you want me to make you some tea?"Ferus suggested.
"Yes, please."Nadia insisted."That would be nice."
Ferus gave Nadia a soft kiss on the lips before leaving the room to make tea for the two of them.
RG-G1 let out a beep causing Nadia to glance at him.
"I miss Corellia too, G-G."Nadia admitted with a sad frown."But this is going to be our home for the time being."
Nadia moved her hands to her neck and took out the golden oval locket necklace that she wore hidden in her dress.
When the raven haired girl opened the locket, it showed her the small hologram image of herself as a nine year old girl with her late relatives, Rostek, Freya, Jayden and Bridget Horn.
Nadia gave a bittersweet smile as she stared at the hologram image of her deceased loved ones.
"Do you remember the time when it was New Year's Day, my father wanted to take me and Jayden to Hoth to teach us how to hover-skiing and ice-boarding on the planet. But my mother refused because she believed we return home with broken bones?"Nadia remarked with a small smirk."So after a small heated argument, my parents took me and my brother to see the Odupiendo racing in Coruscant?"
RG-G1 let out a light laugh beeping at Nadia's declaration, remembering that good memory.
Nadia then placed off the locket before putting her necklace back around her neck.
This was the first time she actually talked about a memory she had of her family, but it still hurt her inside that they weren't around anymore.
"Now I can only hope Scerra and Grandma Valerie have escaped the purge."Nadia stated."But also that Hal and his special gal will keep Mai and the other younglings safe. Hal and Mai may share the same mother, but me and Mai share the same father."
RG-G1 beeped in agreement.
Nadia then slowly rested on the sofa as she stared at the ceiling.
"You know what? I'll be honest with you, G-G. I'm actually don't feel too down that the Jedi Order is now gone."Nadia declared with a frown."The Jedi Council members were absolute hypocrites that have done so many poor choices and were too blind to see the consequences of their actions. Especially, following that stupid ancient Jedi Code that forbids a Jedi to form attachments."
A sigh escaped from Nadia's mouth.
"My parents' marriage wasn't a good example, but love's a special feeling and a very powerful one. Anyone deserves to have someone special. Whether they're a Jedi or not."Nadia complemented."At least, this is what Bridget told me before…things burned into ashes."
Nadia fiddled with the locket around her neck as she glanced .
"lt's scary the way nobody stays together any more."Nadia murmured.
RG-G1 let out a sad beep.
Nadia then stood up from the sofa to glance at the view outside.
It was now the dark night hour which meant people were likely sleeping.
The raven haired girl saw the area was sealed off from Naboo's waterways, protecting the estate from attacks by the various sea monsters that were native to the world.
On one side of the villa a set of steps led to a private beach and across the waters of the lake was a smaller island that was home to a variety of birds.
On the other side of the structure was a water gate and dock that were connected to the main retreat by a series of steep stairs.
The place was beautiful and gave a peaceful atmosphere.
Even though Naboo was actually the home planet of Palpatine.
Nadia noticed the flame on the fireplace was going down causing her to put more wood on it to make it last longer.
As she looked at the flames, Nadia noticed something unusual about the flames.
The flames appeared to be forming a person that had a dark and deadlier appearance.
The figure appeared to be bald, limbless and had pale like bones picked clean by scavengers, scoured by sand and bleached by the suns and with an awkward-looking panel stuck in his chest.
Who was that?
As the female Jedi Knight learned carefully closer to get a better look, she pushed herself back in shock when the figure opened his eyes which appeared to be menacing Sith yellow pupils.
"Nadia?"
Nadia let out a startled gasp and saw Ferus standing in the room holding a tray with cups of tea.
"Are you okay?"Ferus asked in concern."You look like something had frightened you."
Nadia glanced back at the fireplace and saw it was the same as it was before.
Was it just her imagination messing with her?
"Sorry."Nadia apologised, trying to get over at what she just saw."T-The fire was going down and I had to put more wood to make it last longer."
Nadia sat back on the sofa chair as Ferus placed the tray on the small table and handed her a cup of deychin tea.
"Here, Dia."Ferus said kindly."This will warm you up."
Nadia smiled at her boyfriend.
"Thanks."Nadia thanked.
Ferus smiled back at his beloved as Nadia brought the cup of deychin tea close to her mouth to take a few sips.
Due to the tea being served hot, it gave off a floral-scented steam.
"What do you think of the tea?"Ferus asked.
"It's good. Thank you."Nadia replied with a small smile as she handed Ferus back her cup."Its mild fragrance brought out the mood of spring."
Ferus placed the tea cup back on the table.
"Ferus?"Nadia spoke up.
"Yeah?"Ferus asked.
"Did I do the right thing?"Nadia questioned with a guilty look."Of not telling Ahsoka what really happened to Anakin?"
Ferus wrapped his arm around Nadia to comfort her.
"You despise lying as much I do, Dia. But I know the last thing you ever want to see is any of our friends suffering again."Ferus complemented."Though this is also for Luke, Leia and Lisa's wellbeing. We are two of the people that know of their existence and the less people know about them, the better. The future of the galaxy depends on them."
Nadia quietly took in Ferus' declaration.
Padmé did not survive, but she gave birth to triplets; Luke, Leia and Lisa.
For now they were safely hidden, but one day the triplets will defeat the Sith.
The future of the galaxy depended on them.
"You're right, Ferus."Nadia answered."The Skywalker triplets are our only hope and we must keep their existence a secret until they reach the right age."
Ferus leaned forward and gave Nadia a gentle kiss on the forehead.
But he then noticed there was a glimpse of fear in his girlfriend's ruby red eyes.
"What's wrong, Dia?"Ferus asked.
"Ferus, I can't help but stop thinking about Anakin."Nadia stated, her voice mixed with worry and fear."Did he really die in Mustafar?"
Ferus let out a sigh.
"Nadia, no one can survive the flames of Mustafar. Not even a Jedi."Ferus declared."But if someone ever did, it's obvious that person would receive an appearance of a monster."
Nadia looked down with a troubled expression as Ferus wrapped his arm around her to comfort her.
"It's been a long day."Ferus stated."We might as well get some sleep after we finished drinking our tea."
"Okay."Nadia answered with a nod.
RG-G1 beeped gently as he went over his two companions.
At the Works District within Coruscant, Darth Vader trained the Inquisitorius in lightsaber combat.
The Sith Lord used ruthless training methods which result in the Inquisitors sustaining serious injuries including the loss of limbs and eyes.
Darth Vader glared down at Sixth Brother after slicing off his left arm.
"It's only an arm."Darth Vader retorted."Get up and fight."
The Sixth Brother hissed in pain as Darth Vader deactivated his blood red lightsaber and walked up to the Grand Inquisitor.
"Lord Vader, I must protest."the Grand Inquisitor said."What will chopping off Sixth Brother's arm possibly teach him?"
"Loss."Darth Vader answered as Sixth Brother weakly stood up."He will never forget it. None of them well."
At a Medical Bay, medical droids attended to several wounded Inquisitors including the Ninth Sister, the Fifth Brother and the Sixth Brother.
"The Emperor created the Inquisitorius Program to hunt down and kill any Jedi, who escaped his purge."Darth Vader explained.
"That is hardly fair, Vader."the Grand Inquisitor replied."The Inquisitors are formidable fighters. They are former Jedi."
"And they fight like it. Defensive. Moving to attack only when there is no other choice."Darth Vader declared with a unfazed tone."The Jedi taught that a battle could be counted a victory even if both parties survive. This error has infected the Inquisitors' tactics. All of them."
As they enter a meeting room with a holomap in the center, the Grand Inquisitor reminded Vader that the Emperor appointed him to his position and believes in his ability.
"You do know the Emperor personally selected me, Vader?"the Grand Inquisitor questioned."Raised me up. Gave me this position. He believes in my ability."
"Concern yourself with my beliefs, Grand Inquisitor."Darth Vader commented bluntly and brought his attention on the Holomap."I will instruct you. You will bring my lessons to the others. Any Inquisitor who does not progress will be eliminated."
The Grand Inquisitor gave the Sith Lord a slight glare.
"I see."the Grand Inquisitor scowled coldly."You find us pathetic. You think you could do the job better yourself. That may be true. You are mighty indeed. But what if that was what the Emperor wanted, wouldn't you be doing it? You said the Inquisitors are mine. No longer, Vader. No longer. The Emperor has given us to you. You own us, flaws and all. If we succeed, it is to your credit and if we fail...you will own that as well."
"You are correct, Grand Inquisitor. I do find you pathetic."Darth Vader declared slightly as he activated a list in the Holomap."But I believe in change. All things are possible through the Force. We will begin by hunting those Jedi, who may have survived Order 66. A target list."
The target list above Darth Vader and the Grand Inquisitor showed the list of assumed Jedi survivors that were priority targets including Master Yoda, Quinlan Vos, the late Kirak Infil'a whose name got slashed, Shaak Ti, Padawan Caleb Dume and others.
Including Darth Vader's old friends from his past life; Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano, Nadia Aomori and Ferus Olin.
"The Emperor has already given me such a list."the Grand Inquisitor stated, pointing at the list."Priority targets among the presumed Jedi survivors."
"You have had this list for sometime?"Darth Vader questioned.
"Yes."the Grand Inquisitor replied and pointed at two names of the most wanted Jedi."And these two, Nadia Aomori and Ferus Olin. They are given extra emphasis, but I do not know why. I am all for the destruction of the Jedi, but I'd have thought we would start with a more dangerous target like Master Yoda."
"It is not your place to question. Nadia Aomori and Ferus Olin are dangerous targets, Grand Inquisitor. Especially, Aomori being the former Padawan of Kenobi."Darth Vader interrupted, his voice filled with venom at mentioning the man responsible for cutting his limbs back in Mustafar."Since they are the keys of finding the wretched old man and other remaining Jedi, I will be sure to deal with them when the time comes."
Out of all the remaining Jedi, Darth Vader wanted complete revenge on his former master, but he planned to keep Ferus and Nadia alive since he had a strange feeling that they hold some keys to complete his master plan.
It was because of them that Padmé rejected his offer to join him and rule the Galaxy.
Now his beloved angel was-
No.
There was no point looking back in the past and the possible what ifs.
Anakin Skywalker was dead.
Darth Vader was the one alive.
All that mattered to him was following his Master, Darth Sidious' orders and wipe out the Jedi who evaded the Empire's wrath to maintain his loyalty charade and eliminate some of the outside threats to his master plan.
That included the inside ones like the rogue clones who were taking up arms against the Imperial Army and Governor Tarkin.
The fledging Empire has only just began across the galaxy.
But with Darth Vader in charge of the Inquisitorius, the Emperor made sure his grip on the galaxy was strong and everyone will understand the consequences of rebelling against him.
However, the Emperor was unaware of his new apprentice's actually planned to kill him and take the Empire and the Galaxy for himself.
That was until Darth Vader actually found someone to use to help receive more power.
The following morning, Nadia prepared breakfast for her and Ferus to enjoy together at the Room of Morning Mists.
There was fresh five blossom bread still warm from the oven and fresh blue milk to drink.
Once the couple finished their breakfast meals, Ferus and Nadia went to separate rooms to change into new outfits.
Since the Empire were hunting down the Jedi that had survived Order 66, they both thought it would be best to law low and act as new civilians that have to live in Naboo.
Nadia had now dyed her long raven black hair into a cherry red colour before tying it into a ponytail with a dark blue ribbon bow with bangs over her forehead. She wore a light brown vest with dark brown panels on the top and a dark brown buckled strap on the back over a white shirt and maroon-coloured jeans with a brown belt with a pouch attached to the right side. She also wore a pair of beige and dark brown lace-up boots with folded over sides, showing over the white lining accompanied by a pair of maroon socks that partially covered her calf guards. On her hands were dark brown fingerless gloves. Around her neck was a narrow dark brown choker strap.
The disguised girl smiled at her new appearance in the mirror.
Mostly to fit her new identity as Natalya Romanova.
"What do you think, G-G?"Nadia asked.
RG-G1 let out a beep that sound like an approval.
Nadia then headed out of her bedroom, only for Ferus to step out of his own room.
Ferus wore a long coat with a light grey t-shirt that has golden trim and small lace up V section near the top as well as a pair of grey trousers and black shoes. His brown hair and white streak were all dyed in a silver grey colour.
Nadia smirked at her boyfriend's new appearance.
"You look good, my handsome Jedi Knight."Nadia sneered.
"I say the same thing about you, Miss Romanova."Ferus chuckled."You look like one of those rare spy chicks."
RG-G1 came forward and let out a disapproving beep causing both Ferus and Nadia to let out small chuckles.
"Alright, G-G."Ferus remarked."We're going out."
Nadia smirked as she and Ferus began heading out of the Varykino Villa and took a Berenko-class speeder with RG-G1 to go back to Theed.
After leaving their Berenko-class speeder under the care of Paddy Accu, the caretaker of Varykino, the couple and their droid headed to Theed's spaceport to take a shuttle to Keren; the most important trading city on Naboo.
After several minutes passed, the shuttle landed on the Kwilaan Starport within the Mercantile District that was an urban area located within the central city of Keren.
Several civilians stepped out of the shuttle followed by Nadia, Ferus and RG-G1.
The city of Keren was a bustling hive of mercantile activity.
Planetary as well as interstellar traders could be found here, amid a wide assortment of goods and products. But it was also a major hub for the criminal element in the sector which meant smugglers, mercenaries and bounty hunters were common in the city.
Keren was also renowned as a stunning example of architecture and nature complimenting each other. The streets and buildings were organized in accordance with the local channels and waterfalls.
Lake Varum laid on the edge of the city.
There was even a canal that curved its way through the middle of Keren, ending at the Keren Grand Arch that overlooked the cityscape.
After a couple of minutes of walking, Nadia, Ferus and RG-G1 see a column of Clone Troopers marching by while civilians cheered at them.
A small glare appeared on Nadia's face at what she was seeing.
RG-G1 let out a confused beep, not understanding the sudden joy of the citizens despite the passing of Senator Amidala.
"They're celebrating the end of the war, G-G."Ferus declared.
The couple and their droid also see a recording of Imperial Vice Admiral Edmon Rampart nearby encouraging citizens to register for chain codes and to exchange their Republic currency for Imperial credits at no cost.
Nadia scoffed. "Chain code post."
"Your individual chain code, every citizen can exchange their invalid currency for Imperial credits at no cost, thanks to the generosity of the new Galactic Empire."Admiral Rampart remarked."The war is over. With peace comes opportunity and prosperity for all."
"Things are changing quicker than I thought."Ferus commented with a frown.
"So it's not just ships being registered."Nadia responded, folding her arms."They're registering people too."
RG-G1 let out a beep.
"Queen Apailana is the only one beside her advisors and my relatives that me and Nadia are the only Jedi here, G-G."Ferus stated."But while we're here, we might as well start our supply run."
Ferus, Nadia and RG-G1 made their way to the marketplace of Keren.
"Dia, I am going to Club Deeja to meet up with Senator Shessaun."Ferus exclaimed."It's okay if I take G-G with me?"
"Go ahead."Nadia insisted with a nod."But please be careful."
Ferus nodded before he and RG-G1 walked away from Nadia.
Nadia began to look around Keren's market place to look for which things to buy.
The disguised Jedi couldn't help, but lightly giggle at the sight of several young voorpaks in a box.
While looking around, Nadia then noticed a young boy around the age of ten appeared to be pickpocketing a middle aged man, who was busy buying some starblossom fruits.
The boy had brown hair and brown eyes. He wore a white vest over a yellow long-sleeve shirt, green pants and brown boots.
Thinking quick, Nadia went over to the boy and grabbed his wrist, startling him.
The disguised girl quickly placed the stolen credits back on the middle aged man's bag before he reached his hand to pay for the Alderaan fruits that he were going to buy.
"Hey!"the boy scowled, trying to release himself from Nadia's grip."Let go of me!"
Nadia simply placed a Corellian apple into the boy's mouth to prevent him from shouting.
"You better keep your mouth shut if you don't want to get the imperials' attention."Nadia warned in a cold tone.
The boy immediately obeyed Nadia's order as he started eating the apple that he was given.
Nadia then went to buy a packet of denta bean buns before leading the boy to the East Pedestrian Bridge and giving him the treats she bought.
"Here, kid."Nadia insisted."My treat."
The boy was surprised at Nadia's action.
"Come on."Nadia retorted."You look like you haven't eaten in days."
The boy took out a denta bean bun from the packet and took a small bite, only to immediately start eating it, making Nadia smirk.
"T-Thank you."the boy murmured shyly.
"You're welcome."Nadia answered with a smug look and offered out her hand."I'm Natalya Romanova. What's your name?"
The boy looked at Nadia's hand before giving it a simple shake.
"My name is Han."the boy replied."Han Solo."
"You don't look like that you're from around here."Nadia declared.
Han frowned. "Neither do you."
"Fair enough. Where's your parents, Han?"Nadia questioned."The galaxy is a dangerous place to be on your own."
"I…I don't have any parents."Han admitted while nibbling on a denta bean bun."I've been on my own since I was two years old."
A stunned look appeared on Nadia's face.
"I'm sorry."Nadia apologised before changing the subject."So what brings you here to Naboo?"
"Participating in an activity."Han answered.
"Pick pocketing?"Nadia guessed.
"Hay, I actually took part in numerous activities such as participating in an asteroid mining scam and swoop racing."Han retorted.
"Really?"Nadia said in disbelief.
"I've been doing this since my time in Corellia."Han admitted.
This caught Nadia's complete attention.
"You're from…Corellia?"Nadia said, looking at Han directly."How's everything there?"
"Dull grey."Han stated bluntly."The Empire sent their bucket heads to attack some holy building and set it on fire. Must have arrested some crazy wizards there or something like that."
Nadia began to have butterflies in her stomach at Han's declaration.
"Why do you ask?"Han questioned.
Nadia shook her head.
"It's fine, kid."Nadia answered."It's just that I happen to have a few family members living there."
A scoff escaped from Han's mouth.
"My boss says I am like family to him like the rest of the orphans he took in the streets of Corellia, but it's not really true."Han scowled."He just use as tools that he can train to learn confidence tricks and thefts in his quest to make a profit."
"Have you ever tried running away from him?"Nadia asked.
"Oh, I have. But he beats me profusely when aggravated."Han retorted while rubbing his arm before his expression softened a bit."But in my boss's ship, there's a female Wookiee named Dewlanna that is like a mother figure to me. She taught me how to speak in Shyriiwook and takes care of me when I become ill."
"I see."Nadia murmured before going to her left pocket."For your troubles, I give you this."
Nadia then took a small sack of credits from her pocket and handed it to Han.
"Here, kid."Nadia declared."In case, you get punished or something like that."
"Thanks."Han replied, confused why Nadia was being nice to him."Why are you doing this?"
"Because I want to and it's my job to help those in need."Nadia admitted casually.
Han suddenly gave Nadia a hug.
"Thank you, Nat."Han thanked gratefully."Can I call you, Nat?"
"Sure."Nadia said simply."If your boss is waiting, you might as well leave now."
"Okay."Han answered with a nod."Thanks again."
Han headed away from Nadia while finishing off the last denta bean bun he was eating.
Nadia simply shook her head.
"Orphans today."Nadia murmured."It's disgusting that some of them are at the hands of criminals."
Nadia then made her way back to the marketplace of Keren to proceed buying a couple of things.
Ferus was at Club Deeja speaking with Senator Silya Shessaun of Thesme; an ally of his late sister, Padmé.
"I am relieved that you are safe and sound, Ferus."Silya declared as she held her glass of Naboo wine."When I heard that the Jedi were being executed for treason, I feared the worst."
"Thank you. But as you can see, I am still breathing despite what had occurred."Ferus exclaimed."If only I can say the same to others."
RG-G1 let out a soft beep.
"I apologise to you and your family over the loss of your sister, Ferus."Silya stated.
Ferus simply nodded at Silya.
"Thank you."Ferus answered and frowned a bit."Despite the Jedi Order gone and the Republic now being re-organised to an Empire, I've been hearing from reliable sources that the Emperor is planning to discard the Clones."
"Discard the Clones?"Silya said in surprise.
"Since Palpatine said he vowed to end corruption in the Senate, many citizenry believed that he is indeed restoring stability to the galaxy."Ferus commented."But you, I and a couple of know it's all lies. The Jedi and the Separatists had all been been his pawns in the war and he got rid of them without any remorse. So, it's not a surprise that he attends to do the same with the Clones."
Silya took a sip of her glass of Naboo wine.
"So the Galactic Empire is indeed a corrupt beast."Silya declared with a soft scowl.
"Which is why I'll need your help."Ferus admitted."You like Bail, Mon Mothma and others in the Cantham House meeting were aware of Palpatine's emergency war powers growing a month before the Empire's rise. We are putting together people that will help us fight against this reign of evil."
Nadia couldn't help but sigh in relief as she arrived back to the Kwilaan Starport with a backpack filled with supplies that she bought in Keren's marketplace.
While waiting for her boyfriend and droid, the raven haired girl took out her datapad to check the last news of the Galactic Empire.
"The Inquisitors are the Emperor's shadowy agents."Nadia thought with a glare."They are among those whom the Emperor calls his Dark Side Adepts. Chief among their duties is to hunt, capture, and interrogate Jedi. Some of the Inquisitors may even be former Jedi themselves. While classified as part of Imperial Intelligence, the Inquisitorius division reports directly to Emperor Palpatine."
If an Inquisitor captured a Jedi, it was their job to make the Jedi turn to the Dark Side, and join Darth Sidious' New Order.
If the Inquisitor could not, it was their duty to eliminate the Jedi.
Inquisitors would also search for non-Jedi Force-users to serve Sidious as well.
Nadia closed her eyes as a frown formed in her lip.
"And he is likely will send the Inquisitors to me to convince me that my 'talents' can help spread Palpatine's might all because of my relation to Darth Nihilus."Nadia thought in annoyance."And the Jedi Council hypocrites thought I would betray Jedi Order and sent them all to ruins. How ironic."
The disguised Jedi Knight suddenly felt butterflies in her stomach as she thought about the frightening figure she saw in the fireplace at Varykino Villa.
"That being in the fire."Nadia thought with a troubled expression."Why do I feel like something terrifying had been unleashed beside the Empire?"
Nadia snapped out of her thoughts when she saw Ferus and RG-G1 arrive to the starport.
"You got what we need, Dia?"Ferus assumed.
"Yep."Nadia replied with a nod."And how did your meeting with Senator Shessaun went?"
"Successful."Ferus replied.
RG-G1 let out a beep of agreement.
Soon, the shuttle that was to bring civilians to Theed came and the trio took off on it.
See you all in the next chapter and have a wonderful day!
