A/N: My third original chapter is up next, as it ties into the Fire Heart egg.

Shoutouts:

Garrus Skywalker: No, sorry, since Battlizer's are nearly always for the Reds.

bttffan2008: Due to the way that season goes, no, especially since it combines two different Sentai shows.

In Root Core, Madison casts a spell from her wand at a recording of Nercolai holding the Fire Heart map.

Chip: Previously on Power Rangers Mystic Force.

A photocopy of the map shows up beneath the screen, which the Rangers and Udonna look at.

"It's the map to the Fire Heart." she said, taking it. "The Ancients believed it to be the source of tremendous power."

At a quarry, Vida opens a scroll holder, then takes out a scroll as Nick watches.

"The secret of the Fire Heart." she said.

They both smile when magical blasts hit the ground around them both.

"AH!" Nick yelped, as sparks came up around them.

"Whoa!" Vida yelped.

The scroll goes flying away out of Vida's hands, and shoots towards the sky.

"I'll take that." Nercolai said, grabbing it.

Vida - now morphed - dives towards her.

"Gimmie that!" she demands.

She grabs the scroll and begins wrestling with Nercolai over it, before ripping it in half.

In the Rock Porium, Chip was looking at the half of the Fire Heart scroll, while Susan and Xander both sorted out records and CDs behind the counter, while Vida was counting money.

"Hey, Chip, any luck with you-know-what?" Vida asked.

"No, no." Chip said, walking past her.

"Ha. I have out sold you by 12 dollars and 50 cents. I win the bet, you owe me lunch." Vida mocked, pointing at Xander, who was sorting out records.

"Not so fast. Xander the Great still has four minutes to go." Xander said.

"Don't be so cocky, bro." Susan advised, putting CDs onto the back shelf. "She might just have won this."

"Very funny?" Xander scoffed.

A blonde girl left the store as Leelee walked in.

"Ah, Leelee." Vida said.

"Can somebody help me here?" Leelee asked.

Xander turned to her and moved towards the counter.

"Afternoon, Leelee. You look like a Zeppelin fan." he said, pushing Vida aside with his arm.

"Uh." Vida moaned.

"Can I interest you in something?" Xander asked.

Leelee grinned, seeing a zit right in the middle of his nose.

"Nice zit, Rudolph." she mocked.

"Zit?" Xander scoffed, before he looked at his nose. "Whoa!"

He backed away as the girls laughed, before he looked at himself in a mirror.

"Oh, Xander the Great, big pimple." Vida mocked.

"It looks good on you, bro." Susan teased.

"Not funny! This totally ruins my prefect profile." Xander said. "This zit is like having an extra nose."

Chip looked from him to the scroll and back again.

"That's it." he said. "Maybe the scroll to the Fire Heart is like two halves of the same face, minus the zit of course."

Xander touched the zit on his nose as Vida and Susan turned to Chip, unaware Leelee was looking at them.

"Shh!" Vida shushed, making Leelee turn away.

All but Xander looked at her as she walked off.

"It's a good theory, Chip." Susan admitted.

"Thanks." Chip said.

"Yes!" Toby whooped from his office.

Chip, Vida and Susan all turned as he lowered the blinds, seeing he was wearing goggles, and holding a cylinder puzzle piece.

"Success!" he said.

He opened the door and left his office as they stared at him.

"I've finished this entire crypto magnetic puzzle in just under 40 minutes." he explained.

"Mm." Vida nodded.

"Pretty impressive, boss." Susan remarked.

"I should work for the CIA, or the FBI..." Toby said, as the girls giggled, before part of his goggles fell off. "...or better, the Power Rangers."

Xander turned to him as the others flinched slightly, their eyes widening.

"Uh..." Chip muttered.

"What I say?" Toby asked.

"Uh..." Chip muttered.

"Nothing." Vida said, as Susan shook her head.

"Yeah, that's a great idea." Chip said.

"Pretty good idea." Susan nodded.

"You should, uh..." Vida began.

"Give 'em a call." Chip said, as the girls nodded.

"A call? Give them a call." Toby said.

He turned around and ran back into his office as he closed the door, before the Rangers sighed in relief.

"Man." Xander said, looking at his reflection.

Later, at Root Core, Xander was staring at himself through a mirror, while the other Rangers all stood around a table with the scroll, while Clare sat on some stairs, near some dead flowers with a spray bottle of potion.

"Okay, this time, it has to work." she said, spraying some flowers. "Hmm?"

She put the bottle down as she got up and walked off.

"Yeah, and then it hit me." Chip said.

"Tell us?" Madison asked.

"The mirror was the key. So, while Xander was staring at himself, and I was staring at Xander..." Chip began, approaching Xander.

The others all turned around as he took the mirror from Xander.

"...the answer was staring at me." he finished.

He walked over to the others, before he walked around the table, then put the mirror near the scroll.

"What mountain does that look like?" he asked.

They all saw the reflection in the mirror as he looked up at them, making them all smile.

"Mt. Fuego!" they all said.

Xander moved to touch his nose as Clare came up beside him.

"Wow..." Madison said.

"Yeah..." Vida said.

"Amazing..." Susan said.

"Chip." they and Nick said.

Clare looked at the flowers she sprayed, which suddenly came back to life.

"Oh. It's working!" she said. "Look, I finally did something right?"

Everyone turned to her, while Xander stared at the flowers.

"What did you do?" he asked.

"It's a potion I..." Clare explained, sitting down on the steps. "...concocted to make sad, dull looking flowers become perfectly gorgeous."

She got up and ran off happily as Xander stared at the bottle.

"It's Perfection Potion." he said.

Nick picked up the scroll and got in front of the sisters.

"Right, let's go. The Fire Heart is waiting." he said, before he turned and walked off. "We'll have to split up to cover that much territory."

Xander turned as Nick came up beside him and touched his arm.

"Hey." Nick said.

He walked off with Madison, as Vida giggled and pointed at Xander before following, with Chip and Susan right behind her, before Xander followed.

"Come on, Xander?" Vida said.

Xander stopped and turned around, before he ran towards the steps as the door opened. He turned and saw the others walking off, before he picked up the bottle.

"Perfection Potion?" he thought.

He sprayed some of it on his nose, before he put the bottle down, then ran after the others.

Meanwhile, in the Underworld, Nercolai was holding the other half the scroll in a room.

"There must be a way to make sense of this?" she complained, turning around.

"Mom, I'm home." came Leelee's voice.

Nercolai lowered the scroll and turned to a doorway as Leelee came in.

"If you can call this wretched place a home." she said.

"If you don't like it, perhaps it's time you went to live with your father." Nercolai said, turning away.

Leelee scoffed and rolled her eyes.

"Oh, that's right. I had him turned into a worm." Nercolai recalled, turning back to her.

"Okay, I get your point." Leelee said. "What are you working on?"

"Ah! The Fire Heart scroll." Nercolai explained bitterly. "It's been impossible to deceiver."

"That old thing?" Leelee inquired, taking it off her. "I know how to do it."

She began to tell her what she overheard the Rangers talking about at the Rock Porium.

A little later, Vida and Xander were both hiking up part of Mt. Fuego, having decided to split into three pairs to cover more ground. After hiking for a little while, Xander stopped as Vida lagged behind.

"V, come quick!" he called.

Vida ran over to Xander.

"What? Did you find it?" she asked.

"What? Oh, no, no, no, no, no. No, look?" Xander said.

He turned his head as Vida looked at him, seeing his zit was missing.

"My perfect profile has been restored." Xander said happily, turning to her. "I'm back. Xander's back."

He touched Vida's arms as she rolled her eyes in annoyance.

"This mountain ain't big enough for the three of us; you, me and your ego." Vida said annoyed, as she turned and walked off.

Xander turned to her as she suddenly stopped.

"Whoa! Look at that?" she said, pointing forward.

They both stared at a cave entrance surrounded by rocks, one of which shined brightly. They both ran towards it, before they saw a symbol from the scroll, telling them they'd found the location.

"That's defiantly the symbol." Xander said.

Vida smiled as they entered the cave, before she turned back.

"Be ready for anything." she cautioned.

"Got it." Xander understood.

They both saw two doors ahead of them, with ancient writing between them, before Vida stepped on something, opening up a hatch on the ceiling.

"Oh! Watch out!" Xander yelped, rolling away.

"Huh?" Vida muttered.

She looked up as slime came out of the hatch, which splatted all over her.

"Ah! Cave slime? Nasty." she noted.

"Look?" Xander said, pointing at the doors.

They both approached them and looked at the writing on it.

"The Fire Heart is close at hand,
those who find it, shall rule the land.
But take good care,
for there is no clue'." Xander read. "Is it door number 1, or door number 2."

They both looked at the doors.

"What do you think we should..." Xander began, before Vida began pulling open door number 1. "V?"

Vida pulled the door open, showing a shiny gold and green chest, with red buttons all over it, and a small scroll.

"Yes." she said. "It's got to be it."

"You always have been lucky." Xander said, making her look at him.

"Let's get it outside." she said, turning to the chest.

"No, hold on? I wanna see what's behind door number 2." Xander said.

"Xander?" Vida scowled, as he grabbed the door.

He pulled it open, but then quickly closed it.

"OH!" he gasped. "I on the other hand am not so lucky."

He backed away, just as the door got kicked down, and out came a humanoid hyena/ghoul-like beast called Boney, who had boxing gloves for fists, spikes on his shoulders, and bones on his legs.

"Alright, let's Ranger up and show him who's boss." Xander said.

They both reached for their morphers, just as Boney came over and punched them both, knocking them out of the cave as they morphed up.

"AHH!" Xander yelled.

He and Vida hit the ground and rolled over, before they turned around and got to their knees, as Boney came out of the cave, roaring.

"Okay, he's boss." Xander said.

"Ya think?" Vida asked sarcastically.

They both got up and dodged as Boney came over and tried to punch them, before Vida got behind him and turned around, before Xander sent a kick at him, but he blocked it with his left hand, then he knocked Vida with it as he raised it up.

"AH!" Vida moaned, spinning around.

Boney roared as he turned and punched Xander in the chest, causing him to flip onto his back.

"Uh!" he moaned.

"Xander!" Vida cried.

She charged at Boney, before she kicked his right glove.

"Hiyah!" she yelled.

Boney stumbled back, before she turned to Xander.

"Are you okay?" she asked.

"Been better!" Xander groaned.

Vida turned back to Boney and took out her Magi Staff, which she twirled around, before crossing her forearms over.

"Magi Staff, tornado power!" she shouted, holding it up.

She jumped up and began twirling around in a whirlwind.

"Hyah!" she yelled, diving towards Boney.

"AH!" he gasped, as the whirlwind got into him.

It picked him up and held him up.

"OHHH!" he cried.

He fell out of the whirlwind and went flying towards the ground.

"AHH!" he yelled, before he hit it and blew up.

Vida dived down and landed crouched down, before she got up.

"Power down." Xander said, holding his right hand the Mystic way.

He de-morphed as Vida turned to him.

"Power down." she said.

She de-morphed - now no longer covered in slime - then walked over to Xander and held her hand out. He took it, before she helped him up.

"Thanks." he said.

"Let's get the Fire Heart." Vida said.

Xander nodded as they panted, before they turned to the cave, which Vida ran into.

"Ah!" Xander groaned, clutching his left arm.

He turned around and rolled up his sleeve, seeing a small plant root sticking out of it. He lowered his sleeve and turned away, wondering what was going on, but knew now wasn't the time.

A little later, Vida and Xander both carried the crate through a field near some trees, when the others came towards them, Nick having been with Madison, Susan with Chip.

"Hey!" Nick said.

"We heard an explosion." Chip said, as Vida and Xander put the crate down.

Madison crouched down near it as they all looked at it.

"Is this is?" Susan asked.

"Yeah." Vida said.

She and Chip tried to pull the crate's lid open, but it wouldn't bulge.

"AH!" they grunted.

"It's stuck." Chip said.

Madison touched the scroll on the crate.

"Look at this?" she said.

She unwrapped the small rope around it, then pulled it off, before a timer saying 59 minutes and 59 seconds began to count down.

"Whoa! It's counting down." Vida said, as Nick crouched down.

Chip took the scroll from Madison and unrolled it.

"'This ancient puzzle is your task at hand,
solve it quickly to receive what's grand,
but if you fail this timely chore,
the Fire Heart will be no more
'." he read, as Nick got up.

"Oh." Madison breathed.

"Great, another riddle?" Chip said sarcastically.

Xander rubbed his arm, when blasts hit the ground all around them, knocking them up.

"AHH!" they screamed. "AHH!"

They all got knocked up by an explosion, before they hit the ground on their chests, expect Nick who fell against the crate. He turned around and saw a Styxoid twirling its staff, before it put the pole end against the ground.

"Hand over the chest!" it demanded.

The Rangers all got up and turned around, as Hidiacs rose up from the ground with their blades or axes.

"Let's Ranger up!" Nick said, before they took out their morphers. "Ready!"

They all put their morphers in wand mode, then pressed the three buttons.

"Ready!" the others said.

"Magical Source, Mystic Force!"

(Morph sequence)

The screen split into six, Chip in the top left, Nick in the top middle, Madison in the top right, Xander in the bottom left, Susan in the bottom middle, Vida in the bottom right.

Galwit Mysto Ranger

A spell shot out from their wands, creating a spell seal above each of them. Their Mystic spirts came out of the spell seals and landed behind them, as they did their actions.

"Yah!" they yelled, jumping up.

They went through the spell seals, morphing up, then they turned as their helmets came on, before doing their Mystic hand poses.

"Yah!" they shouted.

(End morph sequence)

Nick brought out his Magi Staff in sword mode.

"Magi Staff!" he shouted, charging in.

He slashed it against a Hidiac's axe as it tried to hit him, then he tried to slash another, but missed, but then he slashed a third across the chest, followed by a fourth. He jumped up and dived towards the Styxoid to slash it, but it blocked his sword with its staff, locking them together, before it lifted its staff up, knocking Nick back slightly. Nick ducked and spun around as it tried to slash him, before he blocked another with his sword as he backed away.

Chip ducked as a Hidiac tried to slash him with its blade, before he grabbed its arm, then kicked its back, flipping it onto its back.

Vida ducked and dodged as one tried to slash her with its blade, before she grabbed its arm and shoulder, then she kicked another's axe, knocking it down, before she pulled the first to the ground.

Susan dodged as one tried to slash her with its axe, before she spun around and tackled it, tripping it onto its back, then she spun around and kicked another's chest, knocking it away.

Madison did a backwards handspring, then a back flip, then she ducked as one ran past and tried to slash her with its blade, before she jumped and spun around, kicking its arm and knocking it down.

Xander grabbed ones arm as he spun around, before he pushed it away, then he spun around and kicked another's blade, making it flip onto its back.

The Styxoid slashed Nick down the chest twice in an X shape.

"AH!" he moaned, turning around.

He hit the ground on his chest as the Styxoid laughed.

"Uh!" he moaned.

The Styxoid kept laughing as he approached Nick, who turned onto his back.

"You're through." it said.

It raised its staff up to strike, just as Xander jumped up and dived towards it with his axe.

"Hyah!" he yelled.

He slashed the Styxoid down the chest with his axe, knocking it down, before it rolled over and fell onto its back as it tried to get up.

"Way to go, guys." Madison remarked.

"Wahoo!" Chip and Vida whooped.

Xander got up and held up his axe, as Nick got up beside him.

"All right!" Susan cheered.

"That was close." Nick said, patting Xander's shoulder, getting his attention.

"Yeah!" Vida whooped.

"We did it." Xander said.

Later, in the Underworld, all the Hidiacs and Styxoids around the place muttered and growled, when a Styxoid approached the one who had returned from the fight, pushing two Hidiacs away as it did.

"Ah! You failed the Master!" it growled, grabbing the other. "For that, you will pay!"

It threw the other Styxoid down towards the bottom of the pit, before it landed on its back near Koragg.

"Uh!" it moaned. "Uh!"

Nercolai came over from the door in the back, before she spotted the Styxoid and hid against the door.

"Uh-oh." she gulped.

The Styxoid got up clutching its shoulder, as Morticon came towards him angrily.

"You have failed me..." he began.

"NO?" the Styxoid begged, holding his hand out. "Stop?"

"...for the last time, soulless mutant!" Morticon roared.

He slashed the Styxoid with his sword, disintegrating it.

"Where is Nercolai?!" Morticon demanded. "That hag has failed me too!"

Stream came out of his head as he looked around.

"Ah." Koragg groaned, annoyed.

He turned around and walked through the door, passing Nercolai.

"You've got to help me, Koragg?" she begged, making him stop. "Morticon will destroy me if I don't get the Fire Heart."

"Hmm?" Koragg muttered, turning slightly.

Meanwhile, at Root Core, the Rangers all stared at the chest, which now counted down to 39 minutes, and 54 seconds. (Susan was on Nick's right)

"Uh! It's still counting down." Madison sighed, who was on her knees, with her hands on the side of her face.

Vida was bent down slightly with her hands on her knees, while Chip paced around the chest, while Susan and Nick just stared at it. Xander however, was scratching his neck, as leaves were sticking out of his back, and his arms were turning into tree bark.

"Sorry, guys." Chip said, getting between the sisters. "I've never seen a puzzle like this. I don't know where to even begin"

"Then none of us do, and we've already lost half-an-hour." Madison said, getting up and folding her arms.

Nick looked at Xander and noticed a leaf on the back of his head.

"You've still got leaves stuck in your hair from the battle." he said, approaching him.

He grabbed one of the leaves and pulled on it.

"OW!" Xander yelped, like it was rooted to him.

"Whoa!" Nick gasped, backing away.

Everyone turned to Xander, who looked at them all.

"You okay, bro?" Susan asked.

"I'm fine. It's nothing, sis." Xander assured, turning around. "Really."

He sighed and turned back around.

"I'm just having a little issue." he said, stretching his arms out.

"OH!" the others gasped, their mouths open as they looked at his arms.

Xander pulled them back and looked at his hands, while they all laughed.

"This is funny to you guys?" he asked, hurtful.

They all stopped laughing, before Madison shook her head.

"Oh, come on, Xander. You always laugh when Clare turns herself into funny stuff." Vida giggled.

"That's defiantly an improvement look, bro." Susan giggled.

Xander looked at them both in disbelief, as they and Chip laughed.

"I'm... I'm sure it's just a side-effect of your organic powers." Madison said hopefully. "It'll go away, knock-on-wood."

They all laughed at Xander.

"G-guys, guys, come on?" Nick said. "Enough."

They all stopped laughing.

"Leaf Xander alone?" Nick joked.

They all laughed again.

"Guys, can we focus on something more important; like opening the chest?" Xander asked, making them all stop. "We're running out of time."

"Uh..." they muttered, all but Vida with their arms folded.

Chip, Susan and Madison all lowered their arms, before the girls all bent down.

"Hey, I got it." Chip said.

"What? You solved the puzzle?" Madison asked, as the girls stood up.

"No, but I think I know who can." Chip said.

A little later, in the Rock Porium, Chip, Vida and Susan all stood by Toby, who was looking at the chest, who Chip figured would be able to crack in.

"Hardest puzzle in the world, huh?" Toby inquired, touching the top.

"Next to impossible." Chip said. "Can you beat the clock?"

"Oh, I can solve it in...in less than an hour." Toby replied.

He grabbed the sides of the chest, before he turned around and approached his office, before he opened the door with his back and entered it.

"This better work." Vida said, folding her arms.

"Hey, don't worry?" Chip said, as the door closed. "As soon as he figures it out, we'll create a diversion and slip away with the chest before he can open it. Simple."

"Famous last words." Vida said, before she turned and walked off.

"It is a long shot, Chip." Susan said. "Let's just hope Toby doesn't try to open the chest once he solves it."

"Hey, it's gonna work." Chip assured. "Have faith, Sue."

Susan rolled her eyes before she walked towards the back of the store.

Vida began to approach the front of the store, when Xander came in, wearing a trench-coat, a black hat and sunglasses.

"V?" he hissed.

Vida looked at him curiously, before she approached him, before he took off his sunglasses.

"Still blossoming, I see." Vida joked, as he put them away.

"It's getting worse." Xander insisted. "Look?"

He opened up his shirt slightly, showing his chest was starting to bark.

"Ooh. Some girls like a mossy chest." Vida teased, before she laughed.

"V, this is serious. I can't be seen like this. What if it doesn't go away?" Xander whispered.

"It will, in the fall." Vida joked, laughing.

Xander rolled his eyes in annoyance.

"Look, you didn't do anything to cause it, so I'm sure it'll fix itself." Vida assured.

"I did do something." Xander admitted. "I sprayed myself with Clare's Perfection Potion hoping to fix my nose."

Vida opened her mouth slightly, before Xander turned and walked off. He picked up a small guitar with a mirror surface on the back, looking at his reflection, before part of his face before to bark.

"Ah! Now look at me?" he gasped.

He put it down and ran out of the store, hoping no one saw him.

Meanwhile, in the Underworld, Koragg, Nercolai and a three-faced skeleton monster called Skullington walked into the main room. Skullington held a staff with bones attached to it, while his body was covered in bones, and had horns on his head.

"I won't forget this, Koragg." Nercolai promised, as they stopped and turned to each other.

"You better not." Koragg said. "The Rangers have found the Fire Heart. Lock into its Mystical energy, and retrieve the treasure."

"It will be done." Skullington assured.

A little later, at Root Core, Vida ran over to Clare, who stood in the back area with her elbow a table, resting her head on it, staring at a bunch of dead flowers.

"Hey, have you seen Xander?" Vida asked.

"No, but look?" Clare said miserably, lowering her hand. "My potion failed."

Vida walked over towards her.

"All of those pretty flowers I sprayed died." Clare sighed.

Vida looked at the flowers, then realized something must be happening to Xander due to the potion.

"Oh, no! Xander!" she gasped.

Later, Xander came out of the tree portal, now almost a tree himself, as he had roots sticking out of his head, and his entire skin was made of bark. He turned and saw himself trapped slightly, as his right arm wasn't coming out.

"Ah!" he groaned. "Ah!"

He turned to the tree and pulled his arm out, causing him to spin around, before he looked down, seeing Phineas lying beneath the grass.

"Ah!" Phineas yelped.

"AHH!" Xander screamed.

"Ah!" Phineas yelped, getting up.

"AHHH!" Xander screamed.

"Ah!" Phineas yelped, as he began to run off.

"Phineas!" Xander said, making Phineas stop as he stumbled around. "You shouldn't sneak up on people?"

"Ah... I wasn't sneaking." Phineas assured. "I didn't see ya there because... Well, I don't know if you've noticed this, but, uh, you look like a tree?"

"Thanks for the news flash." Xander said sarcastically. "I can't be seen in town like this. I look horrible."

"Actually, if you ask me, green is your color." Phineas joked. "Just watch out for the termites."

He pointed at the ground, making Xander look down at his feet.

"Ah!" he yelped, backing away.

Phineas laughed. "Gotcha." he said, pointing at him.

Xander frowned and shook his head, unhappily.

"Sorry. Hey, you came to the right place." Phineas said. "I know all about what it's like to not fit in anywhere. Hey, tell ya what, I got an idea. How 'bout you, come stay with me? You'll be great. I mean, you know, there's not much, but it's home."

A little later, Xander and Phineas were both sitting down on a log near a fire at Phineas home, which was made up of several tents, and a washing line that clothes hung on.

"Ah. So, first a Power Ranger, now a tree?" Phineas said. "You're really branching out."

He laughed and fell onto his back as Xander sighed in annoyance.

"Troblin with a sense of humour." he muttered. "That's great."

Phineas kicked his legs out as he kept laughing.

"Ah. I'm sorry." Phineas said, sitting up. "Well, you know, you can't sit around, pining about your past life."

Xander sighed and closed his eyes.

"You get it; pining?" Phineas asked, as Xander nodded. "'Cause you're a tree?"

He laughed as Xander sighed sadly.

"Uh... Uh... I'll go get some dinner." Phineas said, seeing how upset Xander was.

He got up and walked off.

"Yeah." he muttered.

Xander sighed as Vida showed up near the washing line, which Phineas stood by.

"Hey." Vida said, as he lifted it up and went under it.

"Watch what you say? Tough crowd." Phineas explained.

Vida nodded as she ran under the clothes line towards Xander, before Phineas lowered it and ran off.

"Xander, there you are? I've been looking all over the forest for you." Vida said.

"Here I am, where I fit it." Xander said annoyed.

"Clare's working on an antidote to the Perfection Potion right now." Vida explained.

"It's too late. Look at me? I was so worried about looking perfect." Xander said sadly, as Vida sat down beside him. "Now, I won't be able to show my face to anyone, ever again. Even Sue won't like the way I look."

"Don't you think that's her choice?" Vida asked. "I mean, she's your sister, and she always will be no matter what."

"Yeah, right." Xander scoffed sadly, turning away. "Xander the Great is gone for good."

"No, he isn't. He's sitting right here next to me..." Vida said, hitting his arm with her own. "...feeling sorry for himself. I doubt even Susan would have the heart to tease you like this."

Xander sighed.

"Look, I didn't mean to ride you so hard. It's just that you're always so confident." Vida said. "It's kinda nice to see a Human. I bet only Susan's seen that side of you."

Xander turned to her.

"So to speak." she added.

"How can I be confident now?" Xander asked.

"Confidence comes from the inside, and your insides are still intact." Vida said, pointing at him. "Xander, you are great. You don't have to be Xander the Great."

Xander turned away slightly, before he turned back, seeing her smiling.

"I guess you're right." he said. "I am more than just a pretty face. Sue has seen it in me at times, despite some of the stuff I've done."

He looked around, before Vida smiled and got up.

"Come on? Let's get you back to normal." she said, holding her hand out.

Xander took her hand and got up, but then realized he couldn't move.

"Uh, can't move!" he gasped.

Vida looked down and saw his feet had rooted into the ground.

"You're taking root!" she gasped.

"Ah!" Xander groaned, trying to move, as Vida looked at him frantically.

Meanwhile, in the Rock Porium, Toby was working hard, as he had notes all over the walls of his office, with a pen in his mouth.

"Uh?" he muttered, scratching his head.

Outside, the other Rangers were all watching from the window, as he began writing in a notebook, before he ran to the other side of the room.

"I think he's getting close." Chip said.

"How can you tell?" Nick asked, while the girls looked puzzled.

"He's starting to droll." Chip replied.

The others laughed slightly, before their morphers beeped, then Nick took his out and opened it, as they all turned.

"Rangers..."

(Root Core)

Udonna sat by the table, looking at the Crystal Ball.

"...there is dark energy heading your way." she explained.

(Rock Porium)

"We gotta stop it before it gets here." Nick said.

The girls nodded, before all four of them ran off.

"Come on." he said.

In the office, Toby got up with a market machine, pressing it madly.

In the city, Skullington marched through the plaza, as several people ran off.

"Out of my way!" he roared.

A boy tripped over as everyone else kept on running, just as the Rangers came towards him. The boy got up and ran off, as Skullington laughed, before Nick jumped up and kicked his staff, then Madison tried to kick him, but he blocked it with his hand. Nick bent down before Chip jumped and leaned on it, kicking Skullington away slightly, before Susan jumped and kicked his chest, knocking him back.

"Ha!" they yelled, holding their fists up. (Susan was on Chip's left)

"Hidiacs!" Skullington roared.

"We better make this quick." Chip said.

A bunch of Hidiacs showed up in front of Skullington.

"O-kay, phase 2." Nick said.

They took out their all morphers and put them in wand mode, then pressed the three buttons.

"Magical Source, Mystic Force!"

(Morph sequence)

The screen split into four, Nick on the top left, Chip on the top right, Madison on the bottom left, Susan on the bottom right.

Galwit Mysto Ranger

They morphed up, then they turned as their helmets came on.

(End morph sequence)

In the forest, Vida was pulling on Xander's hands, trying to un-root him.

"Come on, Xander?" she said.

"It's not working!" Xander panicked. "My arms are stiffening! Gonna take a miracle!"

Vida kept pulling as Clare came running towards them, holding a spray bottle like the last one.

"Guys, you guys!" she called, before she fell over. "Oh!"

Vida let go of Xander's arms, which fell to his sides as Clare got up.

"Hurry, Clare!" she called.

"I've got the antidote." Clare explained, running past Xander.

"Quick? My mouth is starting to-" Xander said, before his mouth sealed shut, and his eyes closed.

Clare sprayed the antidote onto him.

"I've got a faster way." Vida said, taking it.

She ran off slightly, before she stopped and turned around, then turned into a pink cloud.

"Mystic rain cloud." she said.

She floated over Xander and poured the antidote water onto him like rain, before she moved away and turned back into herself next to Clare. They both stared at Xander, before he turned back into himself, his eyes and mouth open.

"It worked!" Clare said.

Both girls smiled as Xander looked at himself.

"It's gone." he said, before he turned to them. "Thank you. I could not have gone through this without you."

Both girls smiled when his morpher beeped, which he took out and opened up, seeing some numbers flash.

"New Spell Code." he said.

"Guys, we need your help!" Nick said frantically. "Hurry?"

"Let's go." Xander said.

He closed his morpher, before he turned around and ran off, the girls right behind him.

"Oh!" Clare yelped, stumbling. "G-G-Guys, wait up?"

As soon as they left, Phineas came back with some food held in leaves, before he stopped near the fire.

"I've got worms!" he called.

He looked around, but saw no sign of Xander or Vida.

"Yo!" he called. "Where'd he go?"

He kept looking around, before he dropped the leaves and worms.

"Oh!" he gasped, thinking the worst.

He turned and ran towards the nearest tree, before he hugged it, thinking it was Xander.

"Don't you worry, friend? I'll never leave ya." he promised, before he began to cry.

In the city, Nick spun around as Hidiacs surrounded him, before he turned and punched ones blade, making it fall over, then he spun around and kicked another's blade. He then jumped and spun around to kick a third, but missed as it rolled forward, before he landed on his feet and twirled around, kicking a fourth's blade, making it flip onto its back.

"Come on?" he dared.

He turned and grabbed another's arm, before he pulled it up, causing it to fall against another, knocking them both down. He grabbed a third's arm as it tried to punch him, before he lifted it up, flipping it onto its back.

Madison somersaulted forward before she landed on her feet, then she did a sideways handspring forward past several, then she jumped slightly and spun around, kicking ones blade, knocking it down. She turned and ducked as another ran past and tried to slash her with its blade, before she jumped and twirled around, then she landed crouched down. She rolled forward as one tried to slash her with its axe, before she spun around and tackled another, then she side flipped to her left as a third tried to slash her legs. She ducked as one ran past her, before she kicked another's blade, then spun around and kicked a third's, then she ducked as a fourth tried to slash her from behind with its blade, tackling a fifth as she did, then she got up, then did a jump spin kick, hitting a sixth's blade and knocking it down.

Chip grabbed hold of a railing and jumped over it, kicking one away off another, before he put his feet onto a access disabled ramp, then he turned right. He ducked as another tried to slash him while running past him, before he put his hands on the back rail, then kicked his legs out, hitting a third's blade, making it stumble back. He then spun around and kicked a fourth's chest, knocking it down, then he turned and ducked as the third tried to slash him, before a fifth came over. He grabbed its forearm, before he knocked its arm up, knocking it over the railing, then he kicked another's chest, then spun around and kicked it again, knocking it down at the end of the ramp.

Susan ducked and ran past one as it tried to slash her with its blade, before she spun around and tackled another, tripping it up onto its chest. She got up and spun around to kick a third, but missed as it ducked, before she did two backwards handsprings as it tried to slash her with its blade. She got onto her feet, then grabbed a fourth's arm, before she pulled on it and flipped it onto its back. She then turned left and spun around to kick a fifth, but missed as it ducked and ran past her, then she ducked as it spun around to slash her with its axe, before she kicked its belly, knocking it up slightly, before it hit the ground on its chest.

Nick held ones arm before he turned to Skullington.

"You!" he said.

Skullington growled, before he turned and ran off.

Nick kicked the Hidiac's chest, knocking it down, then he began to run off.

"Come back here?" he demanded, holding his hand out.

Several Hidiacs got in front of him, making him stop, just as Vida and Xander showed up and ran towards the scene - both morphed.

"Over there!" Xander said.

"Nick!" Vida called.

Nick ducked and rolled forward as a Hidiac tried to kick him, before Xander and Vida stopped. Madison grappled with one, while Chip doddged another's kick, while Susan spun around and tried to kick a third, but missed as it ducked, while Nick got up and wrapped his arm around a fourth's.

"Just in time." he said, staring at Vida and Xander. "That bonehead's going after the Fire Heart."

He lifted the Hidiac's arm up, before he pushed its back, knocking it down.

"Okay." Xander understood, turning to Vida, touching her shoulder. "I'll get him."

"Right." Vida understood, holding her fist up.

Xander turned and ran after Skullington, while Vida charged at the Hidiacs to help the others.

"Ah!" Skullington growled, turning in an alley.

He saw Xander charging towards him.

"Stop!" Xander demanded.

"Come on?" Skullington dared.

Xander stopped in front of him, then held up his right fist.

"Hyah!" he yelled.

He charged forward, then jumped and tried to fly kick Skullington, but he wasn't phased, then Xander blocked his staff with his left arm and right elbow, before he raised it up, sending Xander flying over him.

"AHH!" he yelled.

He hit his back on some rubble, before he got up and jumped towards Skullington.

"Hyah!" he yelled, diving down.

Skullington hit his chest with his staff, keeping him still in mid-air, before he fell and landed on his feet. He tried to kick Skullington, who blocked it with his staff, then he blocked two punches from Xander with it, before he slashed him down the chest with it.

"AH!" Xander moaned.

He hit the ground and rolled over, before he got to his knees and took out his Magi Staff.

"Magi Staff, Earth power!" he shouted, getting up and pointing it forward.

Vines shot out from the nearby bushes towards Skullington, which wrapped around him.

"AH!" he gasped.

"Ha!" Xander yelled, crossing his forearms over.

"AHH!" Skullington growled, as the vines lifted him up towards some power lines. "Let me go?!"

"You asked for it." Xander warned, holding his Magi Staff up.

The vines pulled away from Skullington, causing him to flip around.

"AHH!" he yelled.

He hit the ground and smashed to pieces.

"That'll teach ya." Xander said.

Skullington's head opened up, showing a red skull, which glowed.

"It's gonna take more than that!" he roared.

His body pieces reassembled themselves back into himself as he laughed.

"No way?!" Xander exclaimed.

Skullington roared and charged at Xander, who charged back, before he slashed Xander across the chest with his staff, before they turned to each other. Skullington slashed Xander three times with his staff, knocking him down.

"AH!" he moaned.

He rolled onto his chest, as a bunch of bones popped upwards in front of Skullington's chest.

"Bone attack!" he shouted.

He shot lasers from the bones at Xander as he got up, making sparks come out of his suit.

"AHH!" he moaned.

He went flying away, before he hit a fence and then hit the ground on his chest.

"Uh!" he moaned.

"Show me what you're made of?" Skullington dared.

"You got it!" Xander grunted, holding up his morpher in wand mode.

He got up and held it near his helmet.

"Time for the new Spell Code." he said.

He lowered his morpher down, then pressed 8, 8, 3.

"Mystic Force Fighters!" he shouted, holding his left hand the Mystic way, before crossing his forearms over, then lowering them.

A red boxing glove appeared on each of his hands, with a green jewel at the back with a black line beneath it, and half the 'M' symbol on the front surrounded by silver.

"Sweet!" he said, banging them against each other, before he put them together. "Let's get ready to battle?"

The 'M' symbol shot away from the gloves, before he punched them together, then back flipped.

"Hyah!" he yelled.

He landed hard on his feet, cracking the ground as his helmet symbol came up behind him.

"Yeah!" he said, punching his gloves down to his left.

He held up his right one, while holding his left near his hip, as rocks flew up around him.

Skullington roared and slashed his staff down diagonally.

"You've come to the right place." he said.

"Come on?" Xander dared, holding his gloves up.

He charged at Skullington, who raised the bones up on his body, then fired lasers from them.

"Fire!" he shouted.

Xander dodged to his left to avoid one, then to his right to avoid another, then began dashing from left to right to avoid the rest. Once he was close, he tried to punch Skullington, but missed, but then he punched him three times before he spun around, then he tried to punch Skullington again, but he blocked it with his staff. Xander punched it down slightly, then jumped up and punched Skullington's chest, knocking him back.

"AH!" he growled.

Xander landed on his feet, then held up his gloves.

"Yeah!" he said, before he danced his legs. "Dance like a butterfly, strong as a tree."

He ducked as Skullington tried to slash him, then ducked again, then he punched the staff with his left glove and spun around, before he punched his chest with his right. He turned and leaned back, punching Skullington with his left, then he leaned forward and spun around, punching him with his right.

"OH!" Skullington moaned.

Xander jumped and twirled around, before he punched his chest, then he dived down and landed on his feet. He jumped up and punched Skullington's staff as he tried to slash him, before he dived away and landed on his feet, as Skullington backed away and clutched his belly.

"Ah!" he growled.

He came at Xander and tried to stab him, but missed as he ducked, then Xander ran slightly as he tried to slash him, then they turned before Xander punched his staff, making him spin around, before they turned to each other.

"Now I'm just warming up." Xander joked, kissing his right glove.

He jumped and twirled around, punching Skullington's chest with both gloves, knocking him back, before he landed on his feet.

"Ah!" Skullington growled.

Xander punched him hard with his right glove, sending him flying away.

"AHH!" Skullington groaned.

He hit the ground and rolled over, before he got up as Xander laughed.

"Yeah!" he whooped, punching his gloves.

He jumped up high with his right arm up and his left by his chest, before he stopped in mid-air and looked down at Skullington.

"This round's over." he declared, holding his left glove up as it glowed.

He dived down towards the ground and punched it, sending a crack along it towards Skullington.

"AH!" he gasped.

Fire came out of the crack near him, which knocked him up into the air, before he went flying away.

"AHH!" he yelled. "NOOO!"

He hit the ground hard and blew up, as Xander somersaulted forward and landed near the remains.

"Knock out." he said, holding his gloves up.

The others all came running towards him, before they turned to him. (Susan was on Nick's left)

"Yeah." Madison said.

"You did it." Vida said, touching his shoulder.

"Nice work, bro." Susan remarked.

Nick touched Xander's left glove as they look at them, before he kissed them both.

"Got a new Spell Code." he explained. "Check 'em out?"

The gloves vanished from his hands, before Chip held up and opened up his morpher.

"Whoa! We all got it. I guess we can all use it." he said, turning to the others, as 8, 8, 3 glowed on his morpher.

"Good one." Madison said.

"All right!" Vida whooped.

"Yeah!" Chip whooped, holding his left fist up, as Nick held up his right.

A little later, at the Rock Porium, Toby was still staring at the chest, which now counted down to 19 seconds. Metal balls banged against each other as he focused, fiddling with his pen and clutching his teeth. He soon held up the metal balls as he groaned and kept trying to figure it out, when a light came on beside him.

"Whoa. Wait? I think I've got it." he said.

Vida opened the office door and walked in, followed by the other Rangers.

"You solved it?" Chip asked, as Vida came up on Toby's left.

"Yes, yes. It's uh, a mathematical conundrum." Toby explained.

Nick folded his arms as Madison put her right on her hip.

"You see, each of these buttons corresponds to a number, that when divided by pi, gives a series of images..." Toby explained, as Vida looked at the clock, which counted down to 10 seconds. "...that all point towards...this button."

He pointed at it with a ruler, before Vida looked at the others, who looked nervous.

"Huh?" Nick muttered.

"Oh..." Madison muttered.

"Uh..." Susan muttered, while Xander nodded.

Vida pressed the button, making a noise come out of the chest, before it stopped with only 1 second, then the chest's hatch popped up slightly, unlocking it.

"Ah!" they all sighed.

Madison giggled slightly as Nick put his hands behind his head, while Susan touched her heart.

"I-I'm the greatest puzzle solver on the face of the planet!" Toby declared, touching his head.

"Thanks a lot, Toby." the girls said, as Nick and Chip took the chest.

"That was great." Chip said.

"You're a genius." Nick remarked.

Madison opened the door and walked out of the office, followed by Susan, then Nick and Chip began to carry the chest.

"W-W-W-Wait?" Toby called, following them.

Vida and Xander left the office as he reached the door.

"Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait?" Toby asked, making them all turn around. "What's inside? You gotta tell me?"

"Uh, T-T-Toby, if...if a tree makes a mistake in-in the forest, and a friend comes to help, does the tree learn its lesson?" Xander asked.

He turned to Vida and winked, who grinned and giggled.

"Oh, a riddle? A riddle?" Toby said, pointing at Xander and Madison.

"Yeah." Xander said.

"Oh, oh." Toby said, pointing at his head.

He turned and ran into his office.

"I'm gonna get right on that." he said.

Vida giggled before the Rangers all turned and walked towards the door.

"Nice one, guys." Madison said.

"Where'd you get that idea, bro?" Susan asked.

"Long story, sis." Xander assured.

Toby began throwing papers all over as he began to work out the riddle.

"No, uh..." he muttered.

Later, at Root Core, the Rangers all stood before the chest, with Udonna and Clare standing on the other side.

"Here we go." Nick said.

He opened up the chest, showing a big red egg with blue jewel shapes on, and golden lines.

"An egg?" Chip questioned. "The Fire Heart is an egg?"

"No ordinary egg, Chip. This...is the last dragon egg." Udonna explained.

"D-D-Dragon?" Susan stuttered, speechless.

"Yes, Susan." Udonna confirmed.

The Rangers all looked amongst each other and at the egg, not believing their ears.
