Grace couldn't stop trembling, she couldn't stop kissing Lucas. They would break the kiss just for a few seconds to get some much needed air in their lungs and then they would both move toward each other again, joining their lips again in fiery kisses.
Lucas' fingers roamed through Grace's soft hair, caressing her back and sneaking down to her lower back where he pressed a bit and felt her body flush against his.
Her lips broke from his as a breathless moan escaped her, but she immediately crushed them back to his lips, her fingers sneaking into his glorious hair, making him groan in pleasure and deepen their kiss.
Lucas shivered violently as he tried to reign in his desire for her. With a strangled breath, he pulled away from her ever so slightly.
Both of them breathed heavily and Lucas leaned his forehead on Grace's, his eyes closed.
Grace slowly kissed his eyelids, making him want to purr in her arms.
She opened her eyes to see that his were still closed as he fought for a breath and hung onto the last string of control.
My wonderful, patient Lucas.
Her fingers caressed his hairline, moved to his right cheek and cupped it, making him open his eyes.
The look in his eyes sent her heart racing.
One day soon, I will be able to love him completely.
She softly smiled at him.
His lips curled up at seeing a pure joy on her face.
"My beautiful, loving, endearing, silly, one of a kind Grace", he whispered as he breathed in "You make my heart sing", and with those words he latched his lips on hers, kissing her gently, lazily, making her shiver deliciously in his arms.
Grace sighed as she kissed him back, his lips sending her straight to Heaven.
A second later, she smiled against his lips and asked between his gentle kisses:
"Wait, what do you mean by 'silly', Mr. Bouchard?", she giggled as he playfully squeezed his eyes looking up like he was thinking deeply.
Glancing down at her, he smirked mischievously.
"You are my partner in crime", at Grace's raised eyebrows Lucas smile grew "Well, whenever I try to burn Gustave's kitchen, you hand me the matches", as those words left his mouth, Grace giggled and Lucas chuckled, feeling warmth washing all over him at the sweetest sound of her laughter "Whenever I suggest a glass of water to melt the wicked witches, you go with a bucket", he made a serious face "So gallant!"
Grace stifled a laugh and performed a tiny bow with her head.
"Thank you", she said, her eyes twinkling "I aim to please."
As both of them chuckled and Lucas leaned down to kiss her one more time, Grace wrapped her hands around his neck and sighed into the kiss.
"My amazing, adoring, silly, wonderful, magical Lucas", she whispered as he moved his lips from hers down toward her chin, on the way to her neck.
But, stopped with a mock frown on his face at hearing those words.
Grace nearly bursted to laughing.
"Silly?!", he gasped in a mock shock. As Grace lost a battle and started to giggle madly, Lucas smiled widely and held her tighter and closer to him. Leaning down, he whispered directly in her ear "Do explain yourself, future Mrs. Bouchard."
At hearing Lucas calling her "future Mrs. Bouchard", Grace silently gasped, her laugh forgotten as she felt her entire body exploding in flames.
She tried to think of a quick, witted answer, but just as she opened her mouth to speak, she felt Lucas' lips closing on her earlobe and sucking it gently.
Grace gasped, grabbing his shoulders, her knees buckling.
"Lucas", she breathed out, her eyelids closing as she felt him against her as he pulled her even closer to him.
"I'm waiting", he murmured in her ear, his voice dropping down for an octave.
Struggling to regain her breath and bring her brain back to functioning again Grace swallowed hard and licked her lips with a tip of her tongue.
Only to stifle a moan as she felt his lips latching onto the soft skin of her neck.
As his lips lazily kissed their way toward her collarbone, she slightly gasped, closing her eyes .
But, as she felt his teeth softly nibbling on her skin and immediatelly soothe it with his warm tongue, Grace let out a silent gasp that quickly turned into a passionate moan as Lucas quickly brought his lips back to hers and kissed her hard.
She trembled deliciously in his arms, her entire body on fire as she arched into him, causing him to break the kiss and give her a heated, passionate gaze.
"So, what's our next crime?", he silently asked, his breath ragged as he felt her soft curves against his hard muscles.
She breathed heavily, her legs barely holding her up as he held her flush against him.
Grace bit her lower lip, causing Lucas' eyes to darken.
She inched closer and whispered into his lips:
"If we go on like this, Governor, the fire will catch much more than your cousin's kitchen", she kissed his lips softly, only to slightly nibble on his lower lip before giving it a soothing lick and suck, causing him to shiver in her arms.
Grace moved her lips away from his and looking at him, she whispered:
"We will burn the entire mansion."
He watched her intently, his eyes shining, his breathing heavy.
"Then, by all means", he whispered as his lips hovered above hers "Light up a fire, my love", and with those words he kissed her passionately, making her whimper in pure pleasure.
As their kiss broke, Grace felt her eyes misting with fresh tears.
Lucas noticed it immediately and gently cupped her cheek.
"Hey", he whispered, his thumb gently caressing her cheek "What's the matter?"
Grace pressed her lips tightly together as she tried to hold her tears at bay, but a few of them felt too heavy and rolled down her cheeks.
"You said I changed your life for the better", she whispered "But, you have done so much more for me. You made me feel loved, cherished, protected", she slightly shook her head "I never had
that. I never had someone caring so much for me. Nobody ever wanted me. Nobody wanted to love me", her voice drifted away as more tears rolled down her cheeks.
Lucas leaned in, kissing away the salty drops and her wet eyelashes.
"Until now", he whispered, causing her to let out a small silent sob.
Her eyes never left his warm ones, her lower lip trembling.
"Whole my life I was alone. Until Lillian found me, I never had a family. I never had someone to come home to", she choked slightly on her tears as those words left her.
And Lucas knew now was the perfect time to soothe her scared heart.
"I will be your family, Grace. And you will be mine. I will always be that someone who will wait for you to come home", his thumbs gently wiped her wet cheeks and he silently added "Like you came home today."
Her eyes slightly widened at his words, her lips curling up in a shy smile.
His heart warmed at the emotions on her face.
"This is really happening, isn't it?", she whispered.
He smiled at her, his smile warming her entire being.
"Yes, it is really happening", he gave her a short, loving kiss, his hands cupping her cheeks, his thumbs gently caressing her soft skin "And I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you, Grace."
Grace smiled happily at his words, making his heart dance with joy and Lucas wrapped his arms around her and picked her up, giving her a twirl, making her laugh in joy.
She hugged him tightly, burying her face somewhere between his shoulder and neck.
And in that moment, they heard some commotion from outside and then a crash, like something was broken.
Only to hear Lillian's and Gustave's voice yelling at someone:
"Get out from the kitchen!"
Grace and Lucas shared a look of curiosity then grinned as they both started to rush toward the doors to see who was grating on Gustave's, and apparently Lillian's nerves too.
As they left the room, hand in hand, they both stopped flabbergasted at the sight at the end of the long corridor.
Lillian and Gustave gave each other high five, both of them grinning like Cheshire cats.
"I told you that yelling that will bring those two out of the room!", Gustave grinned like a cat that just caught a canary "Otherwise, we would wait for an eternity for them to remember the outside world!"
Lillian grinned before she turned to look back at her sister and Lucas that were coming closer toward them, Grace staring at Lillian in disbelief.
"Lillian!", she exclaimed through laughter.
Lillian giggled.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't resist! The waiting was killing me!", she grinned widely, nearly jumping on her feet "So?"
Grace tried to stay calm at least for a second to tease those two back, but Lillian's face was unable to resist.
So Grace smiled widely and picked up her hand, showing her ring, causing Lillian to squeal loudly and pull her into a hug!
Gustave pulled Lucas in a bear hug which his cousin gladly returned with a happy smile of his own.
"Mes félicitations, mon frère!" ("Congratulations, my brother!"), said Gustave with a warm smile "Nobody deserves to be happy more than you do."
Lucas gave Gustave a brotherly pat on his back.
"Merci, mon frère", Lucas silently said as the cousins shared a look full of understanding, support and gratefulness.
Grace pressed her lips tightly together as she pulled away from Lillian, her eyes warmly set on her beloved sister's face.
"You knew all along that he was going to propose, didn't you?", she asked silently.
Lillian's grin turned into a soft, warm smile.
"What can I say?", she grinned widely again "I am the Governor's trustworthy person!", she giggled as she rushed to hug her future brother-in-law "See, I told you that you got nothing to worry about! I knew that she will say yes!", Lillian whispered so only Lucas could hear her.
Luckily, Grace was talking to Gustave so she wasn't paying attention to them.
Lucas nodded with a smile and hugged Lillian back.
"Thank you, Lillian. For everything", he whispered.
Lillian slightly nodded.
"You are most welcome", she silently replied.
Gustave approached Grace and hugged her without a word at first.
Moved beyond words, Grace hugged him back. She knew what was going on in Gustave's head.
And then she heard him whisper.
"Merci beaucoup, Grace", he pulled away, his face transformed with a smile "And may God help you!", he quipped, sending Grace and Lillian into fits of laughter and causing Lucas to gasp through a chuckle.
"HEY! I heard that!", exclaimed Lucas, lifting his index finger in warning.
Gustave laughed.
"I am just kidding!", he looked back at Grace and warmly smiled at her "Mes félicitations, Grace. Welcome to the family!"
Fresh tears glistened in Grace's eyes and she hugged Gustave, whispering:
"Merci, Gustave."
Lillian wiped her own tears of joy before clapping her hands and exclaiming:
"Alright, everybody! I think this calls for a celebration! Go on, get ready, I am taking you all out for lunch!", as all three of them glanced at her in surprise, Lillian rolled her eyes full force and smiled "Well, Lucas isn't the only one who likes to surprise the ones he loves! Come on, people, I have a reservation!", and with those words, she grabbed Grace's hand and pulled her toward the doors, both of them giggling.
Gustave glanced at Lucas as they stayed behind.
"I am really happy for you, Lucas. Grace will make you very happy", he said.
Lucas smiled.
"She already does", he said warmly.
At that moment Lillian's voice was heard.
"Gentlemen? Today?"
Both Lucas and Gustave chuckled, almost being able to see Lillian rolling her eyes full force and they went toward the doors.
As they came closer, Lillian nodded.
"Thank you. Now, lets go!"
Lillian led the way to the car and as Lucas automatically went to get into the driver's seat, she playfully pointed a finger at him.
"Hey! Don't even think about it!", she showed with her head toward Grace who was already at the backseat of the car "You have your own seat! Stop trying to govern everything! Geez!", she rolled her eyes playfully, a chuckle escaping her as she opened the doors.
Lucas laughed at his future sister-in-law's antics and entered the car.
The minute he sat down, Grace snuggled into his side while his arm hugged her shoulders and he kissed her hair, closing his eyes.

Heaven's eye, take a look at me
'Cause the devil's got my eyes set on you.
'Twas a time, I was feeling blind
But now I believe in love, and you're the reason why.
I can't stop the love
I can't stop the love you're giving me.
I have kissed the honey lips
Of the red roses in spring, flower, baby
I did sing for the pure and the free
I have walked the streets, the streets of glory.
But I can't stop the love
I can't stop the love you're giving me.
I can't stop the love
I can't stop the love you're giving me
I can't stop the love
I can't stop the love you're giving me.
I'm a man with a sailor's soul
But I'm gonna anchor my heart in you forever.
And you can sew our hearts together
But I will bind you in the chains, the chains of flame.
I can't stop the love
I can't stop the love you're giving me.
I can't stop the love
I can't stop the love you're giving me.
