Hermione, now an adult, lived in Diagon Alley and worked as a secretary at the Ministry of Magic. She had a cozy flat next to Fred and George's shop, and they often had tea together, gossiping about everything from boys and girls to the latest antics of Harry and Ron.
"Oh my goodness, did you know Ron and Harry went to a party, and it was wild?" Fred said one day, but Hermione, who was exhausted from a long day, had already dozed off. She dreamt of penguins and Perseus, floating peacefully through her imagination.
Suddenly, Hermione woke up with a start. She had a beautiful, purple living room decorated with flowers and gemstones, and she sighed contentedly, still a bit sleepy. But then she glanced at the clock and screamed. She was late for work! In a frenzy, she rushed through the living room like a whirlwind, trying to get ready. She poured herself a cup of coffee but realized there was no time to drink it.
Frantically, Hermione dressed while continuing to scream internally, then bolted out the door. She knew she wouldn't make it on foot, so when she saw a car nearby, she decided to borrow it. She clumsily pressed the clutch, fumbled with the stick shift, and started the car. Hermione sped away, panicking as she crashed into the brick walls of the Leaky Cauldron. Tom, the innkeeper, shouted at her, but she quickly apologized and drove off.
On the highway, Hermione raced along, but then she came to a red light. She slammed on the brakes, stopping just in time. She watched as a child, a woman, a man, a duck, and a kitty cat with her kittens crossed the street. The kittens were adorable, while she found the man rather ugly. Once the light turned green, she pressed the pedal and continued her wild journey, screaming as she weaved between cars and buildings.
Suddenly, she took a wrong turn and ended up on a ramp! She shrieked like a banshee as the car soared through the air, only to crash into a building—her office!
Dusting herself off, Hermione calmly walked to her desk, where she found a few papers and files waiting to be sorted. Just then, her boss walked in, holding another file.
"Here's another one. What happened here?" he asked, looking around the slightly damaged room.
"Nothing," Hermione replied nonchalantly. "It was like this when I moved in."
Her boss nodded and left, and Hermione went back to her work as if nothing had happened.
