Bakugo and Midoriya were face to face as his friends came in help him out. Yaoyorozu ran over to Uraraka, but Midoriya caught onto them right away. He launched at right her, but Bakugo instinctively grabbed onto his wrist. He felt that weird energy surge through him, causing his knees to buckle.
An image of Bakugo holding a crystal came up, making him let go of Midoriya.
Bakugo felt confused as to what just happened, especially when he felt like a little kid again. When he looked up at Midoriya, he noticed that he felt it too.
"What the hell did you just do?" Bakugo growled out, "This isn't something that you should be messing around with!"
Bakugo got him to stop in his tracks, and he turned around to see him looking really pissed off. Something about what he just said struck a nerve. Before he even knew it, Midoriya had launched right at him. Bakugo let off an explosion, but Midoriya was too fast for him. He pushed into the wall so hard that it knocked the wind out of him.
Bakugo pushed back and tried to use his explosion to do so. Midoriya tried to keep him at bay, but Bakugo was able to gain the upper hand. He threw Midoriya over his head and right into the ground. Before Bakugo could relax however, Midoriya got up and launched right at him. He had grabbed onto him and pushed him into the crystals.
As they got closer to them, Bakugo felt Midoriya's strength increase. He could barely get him off of him as kept pushing him into the wall of crystals. The purple sparks grew and spread out all over the cave. Once it hit the crystals, it just made this power grow even more. Bakugo couldn't move underneath his grip and tried to get him off of him.
Kirishima and the others picked up Uraraka, but she was starting to wake up. She found herself in the cave again, but something about it felt different now. They all looked at Bakugo and Midoriya, and they could tell that Bakugo needed help. The purple sparks bounced all around the cave, shocking everyone in it. They tried to avoid being hit by it, but it was almost impossible to dodge.
"Bakugo! He needs help!" Kirishima cried out.
"What're we gonna do?" Yaoyorozu asked Iida.
"M-Me?! I-I don't know! I-I just..." Iida said a little unsure about this situation.
Bakugo tried to push Midoriya off of him, but he just kept holding on and pushing him towards the crystals. Something about it was giving him these weird images of him when he was a little kid exploring this cave. Bakugo had even come here with Midoriya when he was little. They had collected these crystals and brought them home with them. Something about it always felt like a place to call home, but ever since Chrysalis showed up he had felt like it was tainted by her.
Bakugo's eyes widened in shock and looked into Midoriya's eyes.
"Y-You're those crystals from this cave," Bakugo said to him, "Chrysalis's power and One for All... That's what's making you do this."
Midoriya's eyes didn't let up, but he did loosen his grip. Bakugo didn't know what to do in that moment, but Kirishima had knocked Midoriya back. Kirishima reached out to Bakugo and helped him up.
"Are you okay, Bakugo?" Kirishima asked him.
Bakugo didn't even say anything as he looked back at Midoriya with his eyes looking even more purple than usual. They looked like they were glowing from the power in the cave. There was even static coming off of them.
Bakugo wanted to be mad and frustrated, but seeing Midoriya going through this just it made things even more difficult. Midoriya looked really angry about something, and he didn't understand what that was exactly.
"Why are you doing this?" Bakugo asked him, "Even if it's true and you are these crystals, why take it out on Deku? He was there too."
"I thought that you didn't like him. You always called him a quirkless loser back then," Midoriya said back with frustration, "What? Are you two suddenly friends now? I thought we were friends!"
Bakugo's clenched his fists, frustrated that it's come to this.
"What about Uraraka? Deku is with her, not you! If you really cared about her, you'd leave Deku and her alone!" Bakugo growled at him.
"No way! Izuku doesn't deserve any of this! I only want her, and if you won't let me have her then I'll just take care of this myself!" Midoriya cried out.
Midoriya ran over to the crystals and grabbed onto one of them. A surge of purple and green energy swirled all around Midoriya, absorbing into him. As he gripped onto it, Bakugo noticed that Midoriya's eyes were going from green to purple in a loop. It looked like he was trying to let go, but couldn't because of this crystal's grip on him. Bakugo's eyes widened and ran over to him.
"Bakugo! Stop!" Iida called out.
Bakugo grabbed onto Midoriya's arms, trying to help him out.
"K-Kacchan?!" Midoriya cried out.
Bakugo's eyes widened, surprised to hear him call out his nickname. He tried to pull him off of it, but he wasn't letting go anytime soon. The green and purple sparks were flying in all different directions, causing the cave to crumble a little. Bakugo noticed that his quirk was glitching as he kept holding onto it, which made him worry even more.
"Kacchan... you've gotta let go of me!" Midoriya cried out.
"No way! I'm not letting you go!" Bakugo cried back.
"That's rich coming from you! You were going to leave Japan behind, including this cave!" Midoriya cried out.
Bakugo felt his stomach tighten as he kept pulling him away. He stopped for a moment to notice that Midoriya's eyes were mostly purple again.
"I know what's going on. You were going to leave Japan and everyone else behind. If this cave was really important to you, then why would you leave me behind?!"
Midoriya kept trying to fight through it as he pulled away from the crystals. Bakugo didn't want to lose focus, but what he just said made him realize that leaving might not have been the best choice. In the corner of his eye however, he spotted Queen Bee fighting by his side. She looked worried about him, but kept trying to avoid those purple and green sparks.
Bakugo clenched his fists, knowing what he had to do in order to save Midoriya. He let go of him, which caught his attention. He locked onto Bakugo who was now aiming his other gauntlet at the crystals. His eyes widened in shock, freezing in place.
"Bakugo, what're you doing?!" Midoriya cried out.
"I'm saving Deku, and you're in the way," Bakugo growled out.
Midoriya was about to stop Bakugo, but then he got a massive headache that caused him to pull back. Midoriya gripped his head and felt his quirk glitching out from the power in the crystals. His eyes kept going from green to purple in just a few seconds.
"K-Kacchan... do it! N-No, B-Bakugo! Don't do it!" Midoriya cried out.
Bakugo knew what to do just by looking at what Midoriya was going through in that moment. He let off an explosion, causing the crystals to break into pieces. Midoriya let a cry out as if Bakugo had hurt him. Bakugo could barely even look at him, but then noticed Midoriya start to gain the upper hand. He collapsed onto the ground, causing everyone to run over to him.
"Izuku!" Uraraka cried out as she ran towards him.
Bakugo stopped her from reaching him, which just made her even more upset.
"Bakugo, what are you doing? Izuku's hurt!" Uraraka cried out with tears in her eyes.
Bakugo held her back as he carefully made his way over to him. Then Midoriya looked up at him with angry eyes as he held onto his head. His eyes were mostly purple, but kept glitching.
"Bakugo..." Midoriya growled at him, "Do you realize what you've just done?!"
"Yeah. I just saved Deku," Bakugo said back, "You're hurting my friend. If you really were my childhood friend, you wouldn't be hurting Deku like this. Things have changed since I've been here. Like or not, Deku is a friend and I won't let you hurt him anymore."
Midoriya gritted his teeth as everyone else stood beside Bakugo. They all looked at him like they had the upper hand in this. He locked eyes with Uraraka, and Bakugo noticed him start to turn to her.
"Ochaco you're not actually on his side, are you?" Midoriya asked her, "You can't let him do this to us. I still love you."
Bakugo noticed Uraraka looking really uncomfortable about this whole thing. She took a step back, but then stood her ground.
"Izuku would never hurt Bakugo or his friends like this. I love him, not you," Uraraka said back.
Midoriya's eyes widened as if he that hurt him a lot. Bakugo noticed that his eyes were starting to glow purple again, making him think that he was about to attack them. He launched at Uraraka, and Bakugo knocked him down to the ground before he could hurt her. Midoriya tried to get out of his grip, but then they all noticed that the cave was rumbling.
"The cave... it's collapsing!" Yaoyorozu cried out, "We've gotta get out of here!"
They all ran out of the cave, but Midoriya was trying to get Bakugo to stay behind. Kirishima noticed this and tried to stop Midoriya from pushing him further into the cave.
"Whoever you are, leave Bakugo and Midoriya alone!" Kirishima cried out.
"N-No way! I'm not letting him leave!" Midoriya cried back.
Kirishima noticed a giant rock coming down towards them and pushed them away. Bakugo had barely any time to react as the rock and others slammed down all around Kirishima.
"Kirishima!" Bakugo yelled out.
Bakugo tried to run off after him, but Midoriya kept coming after him. The cave was still collapsing, so Bakugo tried to get out of there. He saw another rock heading right for Midoriya. He quickly pushed him away by accelerating towards him with his explosions. He grabbed him and launched right out of the cave. He wanted to go back for Kirishima so bad, but he had to get out of there first. He had to make sure Midoriya was okay and away from those crystals.
Soon enough, Bakugo had made it out along with everyone else. As soon as he exited the cave, it had collapsed completely. Midoriya was trying to fight his way out of Bakugo's grip, but Bakugo gave him to Iida and Todoroki.
"Yaoyorozu, I need you to make some sturdy rope," Bakugo said to her.
"B-But where's Kirishima?" Yaoyorozu asked him with a worried look on her face.
Bakugo didn't say anything, and they all knew something was wrong. Yaoyorozu quickly made some rope that was sturdy and strong. Before anyone could ask about Kirishima, Bakugo ran off towards the cave. His heart was racing as he noticed the collapsed cave had blocked the entrance completely. He launched up on top of it and started digging his way through. All he could think about was getting him out of here as he kept pushing rocks and debris out of the way.
"Come on Kirishima," Bakugo mumbled under his breath, "Use that quirk of yours to get out of here."
He wanted to use his quirk to blow it away, but knew that it wouldn't help. If anything, it might just make things worse. He started to get really hot from the sunlight, but tried to keep going. He stopped for a moment and noticed how quiet it was. His heart skipped a beat, but tried to listen for any sign of him moving around down there. For a moment, he thought he felt something coming up through his eyes.
Suddenly, a hand punched through the debris making Bakugo fall to the ground. His eyes widened in shock to see him punch his way through. Bakugo smiled and noticed that he was still stuck. He ran over to that area and started to get him out of there. Kirishima could barely move the debris all around him. He looked absolutely exhausted, and Bakugo had realized that had been using his quirk that whole time under there. Bakugo was able to get him out of there, but he sat there as his quirk deactivated.
"Ba-Bakugo... Are you okay...?" Kirishima asked him.
Bakugo then realized that he had been crying as he touched his face. He looked up at Kirishima and noticed that he still had cuts all over him. Before Kirishima knew it, Bakugo had his arms around him. Kirishima's cuts and bruises hurt when he hugged him, but he was more shocked to see Bakugo hugging him.
"I should be asking you the same thing you idiot," Bakugo said through his tears.
Bakugo realized that he was hugging Kirishima and pulled back a bit. He felt his face warm up and stood up while trying to avoid eye contact with him. He reached out to Kirishima for a helping hand.
"Come on. We need to get back to U.A.," Bakugo said to him, "We need to do something about Deku here."
Kirishima stared at his hand for a moment, and Bakugo noticed him staring. He looked away for a moment, feeling a little embarrassed. Kirishima smiled and took his hand.
"It looks like I need the helping hand this time around," Kirishima said to him.
Bakugo and Kirishima headed down towards their friends and noticed that Midoriya was trying to get away from them. Todoroki and Iida made sure that he didn't try to run off. Midoriya looked pissed off, especially when Bakugo came over. He tried to run after him, but Todoroki pulled the rope to stop him.
"You! You've ruined everything!" Midoriya cried out, "That cave was my home! I needed that to recharge!"
Bakugo didn't back down as Todoroki and Iida tried to keep him away from him. After a moment of trying to subdue him, he started to glitch out again. His eyes turned green, but then back to purple in a loop. They looked at Midoriya, worried about him. Uraraka wanted to check on him, but they needed to get back to their dormitory first.
"What do we do now?" Yaoyorozu asked them.
"What do you mean? We clearly need to tell Mr. Aizawa about this," Iida said back, "Maybe he can deactivate this somehow."
"That might not do anything, and even if it does, it'll only be temporary," Todoroki explained to them.
"Let's just head back to the dormitory. Maybe we can get Marinette to heal him," Bakugo said to them.
They all headed out of the beach while Midoriya tried to get out of their grip. Todoroki and Iida were able to stop him from getting away, and Bakugo kept him close by. He kept trying to talk to Uraraka and get her to untie him. She barely even looked at him, and when she did, she sent him a piercing glare. As they headed into the city, Yaoyorozu noticed something a little odd.
"What is it, Yaoyorozu?" Todoroki asked her.
"I just... I'm a little confused... Wasn't this Chrysalis's plan? If so, why wasn't she in the cave?" Yaoyorozu asked them, "She should've been there along with HawkMoth."
Everyone stopped for a moment and just realized that Chrysalis hadn't shown up this whole time. Not even when Midoriya showed up. All of them thought that was a little weird, especially coming from her.
Bakugo wondered if there was a reason for that. For now, he just wanted to get Midoriya back to the dormitory.
Another amazing chapter!
I actually love this chapter! Those crystals were the ones that were attached to Midoriya! It's supposed to be that the Butterfly Miraculous and One for All gave these crystals power and a way to communicate! I wanted to write something different with Bakugo and Midoriya since this clearly isn't a part of MHA! It is canon that Bakugo likes to hike, so I thought it would be cool to put in this cave somehow! I just wanted to add something different, and it kind of works considering it brings up him leaving Japan! I just really like how I wrapped things up and made Bakugo question him leaving!
Also, Bakugo hugged Kirishima!! Ahhh! I love them so much!
Midoriya's finally going to back to U.A.!
More to come soon!
