Inconsistency. Chapter 10

After the initial WTF reaction wore off and subsided the almost instinctual fear of being outed... This Identity Reveal isn't so bad... Even if the circumstance could've been better, A lot better, but at least they had each other, and twice over.
And, of course, there were a few revelations because of this unplanned reveal.
Alya took a deep breath when she asked Marinette, "So... You're Ladybug..."
The budding designer was wearing a neutral expression, had her arms folded in front of her chest, and replied dryly, "Yup." She expected this exchange was going to happen and while Marinette had a few hunches as to what questions will be asked, she planned to try to keep her emotions levelled. As long as one particular area wasn't asked.
Alya nodded slowly in understanding when she continued her questioning, "And... You've been half of the Duo Hero Team protecting Paris while juggling school, social stuff, and doing your designs... Right?"
"Correct," Marinette stated dryly, her posture not moving.
Alya nodded slowly when she got out sheepishly, "Okay... First off, sorry for adding more unhelpful things to your daily load..."
"You didn't know, and I'm glad you're apologising for it," Marinette stated as calmly as possible.
Alya shrank slightly when she said meekly, "I'm going to make it up to you... I promise."
Marinette's expression screamed doubt when she replied dryly, "Okay, just don't go overboard."
Oh, did that make Alya feel guilty about what she's done... Or rather, who she believed and her actions because of that... Alya was really kicking herself for how gullible she was regarding Lila.
While that conversation continued, everyone else and the Kwamis had their little conversations. Miss Bustier had been connecting the dots on a few things that she wrote off as 'teen problems'. The poor teacher carefully rested her head on her desk as she realised what was going on as a whole.
Nora gingerly patted the redheaded woman on the back in an 'I can relate' manner.
Al, on the other hand, was talking with Officer Prowl about him knowing about the Miraculous Holders. The policeman let out a sigh when he replied that the situation was unavoidable, given the circumstances.
The Kwamis, on the other hand, were at a loss on what to do... They weren't used to, well, being known by so many beings at once. Sure it was nice not needing to hide but they never had experience with being 'out'...
Things were going along nicely, to put things lightly, until a sudden wave of... Something horrible washed over everyone with an unpleasant stinging sensation.
"What the heck?!" was the unanimous response from everyone in Miss Bustier's class as they shook off the weird stinging sensation.
Officer Prowl shuttered before he asked the others, "Is everyone alright?"
Al rubbed his shoulders when he got out, "I'm okay, but what was that?" He looked at the window, hoping to see something, as the others vocalised their agreement.
Plagg noticed Adrien looking a little spooked and was quick to ask him, "Kitten, what's wrong?"
Chloe looked between her childhood friend and the black cat Kwami before she got out in shock, "Oh Shit! Adrikins! You're Chat Noir!"
Plagg folded his arms when he said playfully, "Welp, that's out of the bag, but so is everyone else's." The black cat Kwami expected Adrien to laugh at the pun. Nino did chuckle at it, but the blonde boy didn't even seem to hear it. Plagg was now worried.
Nino placed a hand on his boi's shoulder to get his attention. Adrien looked at the red-capped teen without changing his expression. Nino and Chloe, were now very worried about the former model when Nino asked, "Adrien, did that... Funky stinging wave hit you hard?"
Al practically teleported to their desk when Adrien admitted with a shiver, "No, But... That... That wave felt identical to when..." He trembled when he reluctantly added, "When Lila," practically hissing the name before continuing, "Put me under her disgusting spell!"
Al's eyes widened before they narrowed and he asked his ward seriously yet gently, "Adrien, are you sure?"
The blonde boy nodded frantically yet reluctantly when he said in irritation, "I'm sure! It's the same!" He shuttered when he hugged himself and added bitterly, "Now I really want to shower in sanitizer!"
Officer Prowl and Marinette looked at each other when Al told his ward calmly as he placed a hand on Adrien's other shoulder, "You can when we're allowed to go home. I think I have some strong soap you can use instead of sanitizer. I know how to rig the shower head so you can shower in soap. But be careful with making sure the stuff stays out of your eyes"
For some weird reason, this made Adrien feel a little better.
That was when Sabrina wondered out loud, "But, what was that weird wave about?" Everyone couldn't help but glance at each other in uneasiness.
No sooner than these words were spoken, there were several loud crashes coming from outside.
Of course, everyone's first reaction was to investigate what happened, so they all rushed to the window to see.
What they saw horrified them to the point of speechlessness. The only one who uttered something was Al, and it was what the teens, AI, and adults were thinking.
"What the bloody hell?!"

Lila was getting annoyed.
Gabriel Agreste STILL had NOT contacted her regarding her being the feature model of his company with her Adrien! How the hell could he Not adhere to his end!
Lila was watching her favourite drama on the widescreen telly as her servants fanned her. She checked her cellphone, yet again, with a scowl. Lila let out a low growl before grumbling, "What is taking that stupid Gabriel so long to tell me my modelling schedule? Even that dumb secretary knows to tell me."
One of the 'servant's' told the liar, "Perhaps he's setting up a photoshoot worthy of your unparalleled beauty." But internally, they were angrily snapping, 'Does this brat not listen to the news?! Gabriel Agreste was arrested for child neglect a few days after Hawkmoth was defeated! He's not going to call you! You psychotic sociopath!'
This appeased Lila a bit when she agreed in a smugged tone, "True, it would take some time to get everything ready for a perfect picture of me." She flipped her hair when she added,"Everyone should have the joy to admire me and my perfect beauty." Lila then had a prideful boast, "And everyone should have the pleasure to serve me."
Despite the smiles plastered on their faces, the tenants couldn't help but feel bile bubbling in their guts when they heard these words.
With an evil smirk, Lila stood up and said boastfully, "In fact! Everyone in Paris should worship and adore me! And anyone who doesn't should suffer!" She held up her left hand to look at her glowing orange bracelet in an evil glee when she said smugly, "And I have the power to make that happen!"
The tenants could only helplessly watch as Lila walked to the balcony to follow through on her horrible plan. She held her left hand up into the air, palm spread wide open.
There was an orange glow before she sent out a wave of that magic that covered all of Paris.
Lila expected all of the city of Love would become her loyal slaves who would obey her without hesitation, but in actuality... She put all of them in danger.

The citizens of Paris were going about their day like it was any other. Doing their jobs, running errands, relaxing, driving, and shopping.
Same old, same old. until...

Officer Chase was keeping onlookers at a safe distance from the current hazard. A building fire was raging, but the firefighters were taking care of it. The police officer could see that the fire should be out soon and that they needed to call an arson investigator to come to the scene. All according to protocol.
Suddenly, a wave of intense pain washed over everyone.
The civilians crumbled to the ground as the pain overtook every fibre of their beings. All the firefighters and nearby policemen soon followed. The only one standing was Officer Chase, however, he no longer looked human...
Officer Chase now had light purple skin, pointy ears that were shaped a little like butterfly wings, his blue eyes were even brighter and had black slits, the tips of his fingers were elongated, his feet were now more gargoyle-like, and he had fae-like wings that were a transparent purple.
The now fae was in shock at what happened. Not only did his Glamour suddenly break but all the humans around him were dropping to the ground in pain. Chase quickly looked around to see if anyone was okay, but all the humans were down. The sounds of a window breaking due to the pressure of the fire caught Chase's attention.
With all the firefighters unable to do their job, the fire reignited with a renewed strength.
"Oh, no!" Chase gasped as he rushed over to one of the running hoses and quickly tried to put the fire out, but with only him, it was a loosing battle...
The fae bit his lip as he used his magic to levitate the other hoses to hopefully douse the fire. But he has never used his magic for this kind of thing and was having trouble keeping the hoses straight.
"Chase..." a weak, pained voice croaked out from the ground.
While keeping his magic active, Chase was quick to rush to Heatwave's side. The fire chief struggled to move without pain coursing through his veins. Heatwave managed to get out as he clenched the fae's hands, "Concentrate... On... Putting... The... Fire... Out... Focuse... Your... Magic... On... That..." The pain was overwhelming to the point of losing consciousness yet that very pain was keeping him awake.
Chase couldn't feel more helpless in the situation, but he did what he could. He gently kissed his mate's hand before he said, "I shall try." Then Chase went back to trying to put the fire out, with his magic keeping the hose on target.
But Chase was only one person, even with magic...

Nagayami and Garuda sat at a park bench with drinks in hand as they watched the children play. With their shop being repaired, they didn't have a lot to do as of now, so they opted to have a park day.
Things were pleasant until a wave of intense pain washed over the park.
"What the?!" The duo got out when they felt their glamours shattering, and revealing their true forms, which matched their namesakes.
Garuda flapped his colourful wings in distress as Nagayami's snake-like body flailed in shock. Of course, their next reactions were to look around as they worried about the nearby humans and how they would react to seeing them. However, all of them were in too much pain to even notice them.
What in the Higher Names was going on?!
That was when they heard several loud crashes.

In an undisclosed location…
D hung up the phone and looked around at his work.
Everything was perfect.
A small smile crossed the lips of the eldest Dracool sibling as all his careful planning was coming together so well and without the others knowing.
Suddenly, a wave of magic washed over the half-vampire.
D was confused by this, since he didn't recognise the magic, but for some reason, his more 'obvious' vampiric features quickly rose to the surface. Dagger-like teeth, glowing red eyes, jagged nails, and ears more pointed than before. But after taking a few deep, calming breaths, D managed to retract his vampiric traits within 30 seconds of them surfacing.
Once that was done, D went to investigate what the hell just happened!

Seras was finally well enough to be out of bed, and had enough energy to do some much needed physical exercise, even if the latter was in limited amount... And her movements were more sluggish than she'd liked.
Seras kept her right hand out against the wall for support if needed as she slowly walked down the hallway on her little rehabilitation route. She did feel off-balanced but it was because she didn't have her prosthetic arm to weigh her left side down.
Seras gave a passing nurse a pleasant smile as she came to the end of her route.
Suddenly, a wave of intense pain washed over everyone.
However, Seras's shadow was forced into a solid human-like shape that had a shadowy thread attaching it to the half-vampire's stump on her left shoulder. Seras, of course, was utterly shocked at this and wondered what the hell happened to cause this? However, seeing the nurse in front of her collapsing on the ground quickly got Seras and her shadow's attention. Both were about to go over to the fallen nurse, a loud crash echoed through the hallway then followed by the telling smell of blood.
"The fucking!" Seras got out before she and her shadow sluggishly rushed over to the source of the two furboading tells.

Above Paris...
An aeroplane was flying on course towards Paris International Aeroport without any issue. The Pilots were already engaging their landing protocols and alerted the passengers and staff to this.
Suddenly, a wave of intense pain washed over everyone.
The vast majority doubled-over in pain while the rest lost their Glamours and were freaking out because of it. But that shock didn't last long when the plane started shaking before slowly stabilising.
The intercom sprang to life when the Pilot and coPilot called for any passengers and flight attendants with flying experience to come to the cockpit immediately. The two sounded like they were talking through an intense level of pain.
Tanis, now in her true mummy form, rushed to the cockpit. She was already expecting the worst.

Jazz was overseeing the troops he gathered doing their final preparations before they head off to apprehend Lila Rossi. Of course, Soundwave and Shockwave were already ready to go. But given the report from Phantasma, they had to make sure that the charms that protect against influential magic were working. Can't have this teenager controlling anyone from the Magical Side of Paris.
The Magi Guardian glanced around when he asked, "Everyone ready?"
No sooner than the troops vocalised their responses, a sudden wave of intense pain washed over everyone. However only a few of them doubled over in pain, the rest lost their Glamours.
"What tha!?" everyone, especially Jazz and the Wave Brothers. The Magi Guardian shook off the tingling from that magical wave as if it were an unpleasant shutter while the Wave Brothers took about 15 seconds to regain their composure.
Jazz was quick to note the situation before darting outside to survey the immediate area, only to see the citizens doing the following: collapsing to the ground in immense pain, freaking over the sudden loss of their Glamour, or driving off the roads and hitting something due to the driver's bodies reacting to suddenly being in pain.
Jazz's sharp canines were visible when he let out a growl at what he was seeing happening in His Territory! He was quick to order everyone who could, "Change of plans! All who can, save everyone who is unable to save themselves!"
Everyone, even the Wave Brothers, vocalised a "Yes, sir!" Before they leapt into action.
Jazz manifested an orb of white light surrounded by a managaree of canary yellow musical notes before he shot it in the air. When the orb hit its zenith, it bursted into awave of soft melody that blanketed over his territory to broadcast an Emergency Announcement to all beings on the Magical Side and those who somehow managed to escape the sudden wave of pain. Jazz can only wish that his message reaches everyone in time to save as many as possible.

As soon as all who relieved the message from the Magi Guardian, they went into action to do what they could to help whoever was affected by the pain wave.
}{
Marinette bit her lips as she turned her attention towards her uncle, quietly pleading with him to let her and the others leave to help. And after the message they got from her Uncle Jazz, that need to save the citizens only intensified. Officer Prowl nodded without looking at the others, also giving him that very same look when he stated, "You heard the Magi Guardian. saving lives supersedes all else, so transform and head out."
The Miraculous Heroes who could didn't need to be told twice.
Officer Prowl handed out some glass beaded bracelets to the classmates without Miraculous when he explained, "These might not be as powerful as the Miraculous, but they should work just as well in this situation." As Adrien, Sabrina, and Miss Bustier fastened their bracelets in place on their off-hands, the homicide officer explained, "These will give you the same abilities as either your inner hero or your favourite hero. Temporary, of course. They'll last for 24 hours before they need to be recharged."
This perked Adrien's attention when he looked at his bracelet and got out, "Wait, so that means!" With that, the jewellery piece glowed and then transformed him into Chat Noir. The black clad hero looked himself over when he said in disbelief, "No way! It did!"
Leopard Noir fist-bumped with that Noir when they jinxed, "Black cat bros!" with smiles on their faces. No one could blame them for this, and Al did find this amusing.
Sabrina looked at her bracelet before it glowed, transforming her into Sebastian Michael from Black Butler. Sabrina let out an excited squee when she said excitedly, "Oh! wow! I can't believe this dream is coming true!" She was so giddy.
Anabella Bee/Chloe's eyes were wide as she stared at Sabrina's new appearance for a few seconds before she held up her spinning top as she would a cell phone and snapped a pic. All with that shocked expression still on her face.
Everyone else weren't sure if they should be impressed or concerned that Sabrina's 'Favourite Hero' was Sabasian... But that was something to ask about later...
Miss Bustier was about to activate her bracelet when she noticed that Ms Mendeleiev was standing in the class doorway, with a shocked expression on her face.
The Miracuclass, Al, Officer Prowl, Nora, and Miss Bustier stared at Ms Mendeleiev, and she them for ten long seconds before the science teacher finally stated as she pinched the bridge of her nose, "This... Explains a few things..."
Officer Prowl was quick to state, "I have enough of these charms for the rest of the Dupont staff."
Ms Mendeleiev gave an understanding nod as she massaged the bridge of her nose and stated softy, "Those will be needed given... Whatever happened outside..."
Al took the lead on this when he told the other adults, "I'll take the kids out to start, Officer Prowl, you brief the staff on what they can do."
Officer Prowl nodded when he stated, "No disagreement there."
Bull Ring couldn't help but say, "Except, I'm not a 'kid'." She had a slightly annoyed look on her face when she spoke.
The half-vampire had an 'Oh yeah' expression before he apologised.
Ladybug couldn't help but tell everyone that they had to start on saving people. Everyone agreed on that.
Ms Mendeleiev was quick to say, "One thing before you all leave." Everyone paused as the science teacher pointed at Sabrina and asked, "Why does Ms Raincomprex look like Sebastian from Kuroshitsuji?"
All the teens and Bull Ring stared at the tall woman when they all asked in bewilderment, "How... Do You know... The character and the series?"
Ms Mendeleiev waved a hand when she said, "On second thought, now isn't the time for these kinds of questions. Go and save the city!" They didn't want to be told a second time. So the Miraculous Heroes and Al rushed out of the school.

Since Lila erected a barrier to keep un-loyal subjects out, she inadvertently blocked the city-wide message from the Magi Guardian. Not like she even knew or bothered to learn that there was a Magi Guardian. Or that her 'little' spell would cause the vast majority of Paris to be unable to save themselves and unwillingly causing dangerous situations.

A few of the magical flight attendants carefully moved the Pilot and coPilot into a place where they could be laid down as Tanis kept a cautious eye on the auto-pilot controls as she radioed the situation to Paris International Aeroport.
That was how Tanis learned that all of Paris was hit with some kind of magical wave that caused Non-Magicals intense pain and shattered Glamours. 'So that's what happened to this flight,' The Mummy thought before she said into the radio, "This plane must've been in range when that wave went out. We also got the message from the Reigning Magi Guardian."
The radio Tower of Paris International replied with, "Glad to get that Message. Do you have enough medical supplies?"
Tanis thought back to the last check of the first-aid kit and replied, "Not for over half the passengers. What we do have, we're using for the high-risk passengers or those who are having the worst effect of that painful wave."
The radio tower replied with, "Acknowledged. How is your fuel supply?"
Tanis quickly checked the fuel gauge before cursing under her breath and replying, "Not enough to get to any aeroport but you. Paris was to be our refuelling stop."
The radio tower was quiet for a bit before asking, "Acknowledged. And aside from the pilots, you're the only one on that plane with flying experience?"
Tanis bit her bandaged lips when she admitted, "I'm the only one with flying experience who can pilot. Only lost my Glamour." She assumed that the one she's talking to was also a Magical and knew what she was implying.
The radio tower was quiet for a bit again before asking, "Acknowledged. How many hours have you logged for piloting?"
Tanis knew where this was leading before she replied, "80 training hours logged, and... My landing rate is 35% in the VR training..." She was already dreading the next part of this conversation. Tanis didn't have the experience needed to land a full passenger flight, and what experience she did have was... Not what was needed for this situation...
The radio tower was quiet again, but for a little longer before they finally stated, "Tanis... This flight is going to have to be in that 35%. I'll walk you through this and you're going to safely land this plane."

Tom and Sabine Dupain-Cheng and the customers who were inside their bakery when that Pained Wave hit went into action to aid anyone they came across who needed it.
Thanks to the protective charms the couple had in their bakery, due to them being kin of the Reigning Magi Guardian, they and whoever else was inside the bakery were spared from the bulk of the Painful Wave.
So as of now, all from the Dupain-Cheng Bakery were doing what they could to render aid.

Nagayami forcefully ripped the driver side door off and looked over at the woman behind the wheel. The airbag had deployed when the car hit the metal fence, hard. Nagayami quickly bit through the seatbelt at the shoulder with his fangs and then carefully removed the woman out of the car.
The woman was barely conscious as the pain coursed through her body. The way she twitched and moved, it was as if she didn't even notice she was in a car crash due to this sudden pain that came out of nowhere. The woman only croaked out, "My… My... Babies..."
Garuda used his talons to break open the side door behind the driver's seat and saw a 4-year-old child curled over themself in pain, not from the car but from the sudden wave that washed over the city. Garuda used his claws to slice the seatbelt so he could safely remove the child from the car. As soon as he had the child in his arms, the winged man looked in the car to see where the other child was... Only to see one of the metal garden rails piercing through the front of the passenger side door and right into the centre of the occupied car seat...
Garuda's eyes widened before he looked at Nagayami, who was carefully laying the woman on the sidewalk a short distance away from the wrecked car. The snake-being noticed the winged man's expression before going to look in the car. Nagayami could only gasp at the scene. Garuda moved to lay the living child next to the mother.
The woman barely noticed her oldest near her. With a great deal of effort, she moved to hold her child close when she croaked out, "Where's..."
The two magicals sadly shook their heads.
As soon as the woman saw this, she started crying as she hugged her only child close. Now she was in pain for a different reason.

The Miraculous Holders scattered in pairs of two or three to get at the most people at once. All were more motivated to save as many as they can, because...
They could still hear one of the two weather girls slobs as she clutched an umbrella as the other's body was laying in a pool of her blood.
THAT shouldn't have happened...
Unlike the battle with Hawkmoth, they didn't have the luxury of multiple ability uses. They only had one, and had to be extra careful about how they should be used.

Throughout Paris, creatures of human myths were rushing around and doing what they could to save or move everyone who was in too much pain to do so themselves. There were some unaffected humans among them, too busy focusing on saving who they can and accepting the mythical s in this kind of situation. They'll freak over that later.
They had to leave the dead where they were, not out of malice or advergence, but out of priority.

Seras had to create one vampire in order to save them, but they wouldn't be active for another day or so. The half-vampire and her shadow continued to do what she could to save all they could.
The other Magicals already inside the hospital were doing the same.

Tanis took a deep breath as she turned off the auto-pilot and firmly placed her hands on the aeroplane controls.
}{
Laura used her vampiric strength to rip open a car and was disheartened when she realised that the driver wasn't alive... Neither was the passenger. All she could do was offer a quick prayer for their souls before she moved onto the next crashed car.
That was when she ran into Mr Wolf.
"Clawd?!" Laura gasped out when she realised who it was.
Mr Wolf recognised the voice and turned towards the owner of the voice and got out in shock, "Draculaura?!"
They stared at each other for a few seconds before they looked at the nearby crashed car and jinxed when they had their attention back on each other, "We'll talk after all this is over."
Both went back to their task.

The Wave Brothers never would've thought they would be doing something as Heroic as saving lives, not like anyone would want to be saved by the two. But given that this was technically an order from the Magi Guardian, they would do this. Even if they didn't get paid, they would still do this. Not as a way to stay in the good graces of the Magi Guardian, but because while both Shockwave and Soundwave weren't with the light, they knew that they had to do what was right.
Shockwave used his magic to lift a wrecked car up and off a human pinned underneath. Soundwave carefully used his tendrils to move the human to a safe location while inspecting for more serious injuries.
The worst thing the human had were broken limbs on the side that was hit. A quick healing spell would fix that until proper treatment can be given.
Soundwave's familiars were able to move a couple of humans to safer locations while keeping watch for any immediate dangers.

Bella was currently in the form of a giant bat as she carefully flew a pair of window washers to the ground, both still in pain from that weird magical wave. She gently placed them down, doing her best not to drop them. Once that was done, she flew off to find more people who needed saving.

Tanis moved to follow through on the instruction given to her by Paris International's Radio Tower.
Now for the tricky part...
'Ra... Please let me do this,' Tanis prayed as she made the announcement over the plane's intercom, telling all the staff and passengers to return to their seats and fasten their seatbelts.

When the Dupont staff headed out to help the Heroes save the city, they went full throttle. To both help who they can and to quickly get used to their new but temporary powers.
Fred gently placed a civilian under a tree before heading off to save the next person.
Ms Mendeleev carefully melted the doors off a wrecked car and checked the passengers.
Armond's widened eyes closed in disappointment before he moved onto the next car.
Damocles was able to remove all the children from the school bus that ran off the road and placed them in a safer location.
Miss Bustier helped some Aquatic Mysticals dock the Liberty safely before they carefully took Arnarka off and to a safer location.

Slipstream kicked open a door and peered inside the room for anyone. She clicked her tongue as her wings fluttered in agitation before she pulled away from the doorframe and moved to the next location.
The winged woman took a deep breath before kicking another door open, this time, there was someone alive and was quick to act.

Officer Prowl narrowed his eyes in frustration as he had to leave yet another body in favour of saving whoever was still alive.
This goes against his instincts as a homicide officer, but the bigger picture was painfully clear. Save as many people as possible.

Keeping her focus on her task and willed her hands to keep steady, Tanis activated the landing gear. Following the instructions given to her, she took a deep breath and kept her hands on the controls.
The moment the plane touched down, Tanis activated the flaps and spoilers to help with slowing the plane down on the runway. If the mummy still had her heart in her chest, it would have been pounding right now.
This long trek was a shaky drag as Tanis held her breath. Her eyes focused on the runway as she clenched the controls.
When the plane finally stopped moving, Tanis let out a relief breath as tears spilt down her bandaged cheeks.
"You did it, Tanis! You did it!" the one manning the radio tower said through the communication system.
As the tears continued streaming, Tanis released her grip on the controls to cover her eyes when she wept out, "I did it! Thank Ra! Oh, thank Ra!" She couldn't believe she did it! She landed the plane! A plane type she hasn't flown before! And with her landing record!
The person manning the radio tower then told the mummy, "You don't have to taxi the plane, leave it where it is. Just open the doors so help can get in and get everyone off to be brought to safety."
Through tears, Tanis replied, "Acknowledged."

Jazz let out a low growl as he carefully walked through the wrecked train as he covered his nose with his left hand. The Magi Guardian's visor scanned the interior, looking for any survivors of the train crash. Soon, Jazz came to the engine of the train, or what was left of it... And the mangled body of the conductor.
A dark gleam danced across Jazz's visor as he radioed in his findings for train crash #7.

}I{ Seven Hours Later }I{
Floodlights shone bright as medical magicals worked to break the evil magic cast over the city. They worked as quickly as they could without harming the humans affected.
The Miraculous Heroes, Dupont Staff, Nora, the Dupain-Chengs, Officer Prowl, the Drac-U-Allies, and all the Magicals were taking a much needed break. After they went into action, they worked nonstop to save all the people who were still alive.
The Miraculous Heroes de-transformed in secluded locations before joining the 'rest group'. Sabrina and Adrien managed to hide their charms after they deactivated.
You'd think being surrounded by creatures of myth would be super strange and freaky, but after what everyone has been doing non-stop… It was 'meh, not the most important thing right now.'
Antonio Rossi let out a breath as his body refused to move from its sitting position. Never has he ever had to do so much physical labour on top of being mentally draining.
Elsa Frankenteen was handing out energy drinks to help everyone recharge.
Phantasma helped another carefully lay a human on the ground.
Chris and the Cesare twins huddled together as they waited to be reunited with their families...If they were among the living...
Officer Prowl met up with his brother and sister-in-law and brought them to where his niece was.
Nino was breathing rather heavily for some reason as he sat next to Adrien, who was worried about him. Kim noticed this and moved over to them and asked, "Hey, Nino, you okay? Need something to drink or eat."
Nino kept his head hung when he waved a hand and said, "Nah...Just... Just tired..." But his body was telling a different story. Tense was the best word to describe it.
The others of the Miraculuclass notice and were getting really worried about the red-capped teen.
Adrien placed his hand on Nino's shoulder when he told him, "You don't need to bottle everything up now, if... If today was too much..."
Nino glanced up at the blonde boy when he said, "Thanks man, but I really am kinda tired." His yellow wolf-like eyes were glowing slightly as he stared at his buddy.
Adrien's jaw dropped open before he asked in shock, "Uhh… Nino... Are you... You wearing a pair of realistic contacts?"
At first, Nino was confused, until he felt a familiar pain pauls through his body. He hugged himself when he gasped out loud, "Oh, shit?! I forgot about tonight!"
Adrien was confused by this, even more so when Nino shot up and rushed past him, slipping the Black Cat Miraculous back to him.
Both Kim and Marinette were quick to look up in the dusk sky when they realised what was happening as the rest of their group were confused by Nino's actions.
Nora being Nora, rushed in front of the red-capped teen to block him. She placed her hands on her hips when she asked sternly, "Alright, Fly-weight, what's the issue?" When she saw his eyes, her eyes widened in shock when she asked, "What the heck is wrong with your eyes?!"
Nino let out an animalistic growl, baring his sharpened canines, when he got out, "Just move!" The pain grew worse as he fell to his knees. His claws dug into the ground as his body started to change. Nino's torso grew bulkier, arms and legs getting a little longer, his muscles expanded, his feet tired through the shoes he was wearing, and fur started growing all over his skin as his ears became more wolf-like.
Nora backed away from this in pure shock, not understanding what was going on.
The scary thing was... This wasn't just happening to Nino...
Other members of the 'rest group' started transforming into animal hybrids as the full moon rose over the horizon.
Once Nino's transformation ended, he let out a howl. Of course, the Miracuclass were shocked by this. Well, most of them. Kim and Marinette leapt into action and tried to calm their friend.
Chris, recognising the sound, was quick to rush over towards it and leaving Ella and Etta in confusion.
Nino, now in his werewolf form, was breathing heavily as he slowly moved to his feet. He was a little off-balanced due to his sudden growth spurt and bulkier muscles. The now werewolf slowly took in everything around him, and he wasn't the only were-creature doing the same.
"I-I'm..." Nino got out as he looked at Marinette and Kim before he finally said, "I'm not... Going wild..."
Kim was confused when he commented out loud, "How? You've only had, what, six transformations so far?" He indicated Nino's current form when he added, "Not including this one, of course. But you need six more before you start having more control."
Nino nodded in agreement as Marinette folded her arms to think about this.
That was when they heard multiple people calling out, "Nino!"
The miracuclass turned to see a small group of people coming towards them. Of course, they recognised Chris and the Lahiffe mothers, but didn't recognise the three others in the group. Nino turned his attention towards the group when he got out, "Mum, Maman, Chris, Aunt Clawdeen, Uncle Clawd, Aunt Howleen!" Four of the members of the group were in their wolf-hybrid forms.
Al was next on the scene with Laura, Bella, Lily, and D. The blonde man was split between wanting to see how Adrien and Nino were. The eldest Dracool sibling was unreadable, as usual. The oldest Dracool sister was wondering how this group got so big so fast. But Bella and Laura had a different reaction...
"Winnie!?" Bella gasped out in shock.
Winnie Lahiffe turned to see who called her before she got out in shock, "Sibella?!"
Laura couldn't help but gasp out, "Clawdeen!? Howleen?! You're here too?!"
Clawdeen and Howleen jinxed. "Draculaura?!" Claud had somewhat of a guilty expression, but it was more 'whoops, I forget to tell them' kind of guilt.
Al looked between the two families as he asked in disbelief and confusion, "Wait? You already know each other?" This was something he didn't expect.
Nino seemed to understand when he asked his biological Aunts, uncle, and his mother, "Wait? Are they the ghouls you went to school with?"
Bella nodded when she said, "Grimwood's Finishing school for Winnie and I."
Aunt Clawdeen then added as she made a circle motion to her older brother, younger sister, and Laura, "Monster High for us."
Al had no idea how to respond, but D commented, "Guess the word truly is small in a way." No one could disagree with the eldest Dracool sibling.
That was when it slowly dawned on Alya on what happened and she exclaimed, "Oh. Shit! Nino! You're a werewolf!"
Nino scratched his furry check with his right index claw when he said as he avoided eye contact, "Yeaaah... I am... Uh... Not how I wanted you to find out..."
Chris tugged on his brother's shirt to get his attention when he asked, "Um, Nino... How come you're still you? Mum said it takes 12 Full Moon Transformations before you can control your wolf form."
Okay, yah, that is kind of weird when it's explained that way.
That was when there was a short magical wave of sound that clarified everything.
"Ta all creatures who are affected by tha full moon, when Ah sent out tha Emergency Broadcast, Ah also added a suppression spell ta keep yah in control. Ah apologise fur doing it without yahr consent, but given tha current state of Paris, it was needed. Yah will have tha next full moon off, Guaranteed."
It was from Jazz, the Magi Guardian.
Kagami couldn't help but comment, "Well... That explains it," She was quiet for a bit before she looked around the area and asked, "And I can't fault him for using that spell."
Max pushed his glasses up when he mused, "I'm honestly impressed with Mr Jazz's forethoughts regarding the... Situation," He too looked around the immediate area when he asked, "Which might've been worse off if the... Ones who lose control during tonight's full moon…" Max couldn't help but remember the predictions he got before the battle with Hawkmoth, and it was clear to him that those would happen tonight.
Mylene then looked at Kim and Marinette when she realised something and asked, "Hang on, I can understand Marinette knowing about magic because of her family relations, but Kim... How do you know about it?"
Kim stiffened as his expression shifted into one that read, 'oh, shit!'
But thankfully the Dupain-Changs and Officer Prowl arrived. Jazz came a few seconds later, and the Magi Guardian most certainly didn't look happy.
Tom, Sabine, Officer Prowl, and Marinette knew that the lack of a smile on Jazz's face was a very, very, very bad sign. And they weren't the only ones who took notice.
Officer Prowl moved to his mate when he asked in worry, "How bad?" It felt strange to the others around who didn't know the homicide officer that well to not hear the stoic voice from him, but it wasn't unwarranted.
Jazz took a deep breath before he told it like it was, "Ah have Shikigami Dolls collecting tha dead. But considerin' tha mass harm that happened due ta this Nasty Magic causing an unbearable pain ta tha humans who didn't have Magical Protection," He held out a hand to manifest an sky blue orb which slowly turned into a globe of the Earth. Jazz then explained, "Tha Shikigami Dolls are also identifyin' all tha ones who died and where they dwell..."
As if on cue, red dots started appearing on the globe. The part of this model that showed Paris, France was stained red, indicating that the majority of the ones who died today were Parisians. That made sense. And soon enough, there were red dots appearing on the spaces that represent the other countries; the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Israel, England, Egypt, Africa, China, Japan, and Australia.
Jazz's voice was serious when he stated, "Whoever created that Nasty Wave of Magic has single-handedly caused an international incident on top of causin' mass casualties." An eerie glint crossed over the Magi Guardian's visor when he added, "There's also tha catastrophic issue of exposin' tha Magical Races to the Non-Magical World."
No one in the immediate area uttered a word until Marinette got out in a combination of disbelief and shock, "Oh, fucking hell!"
