Soldier Boy and Angel Girls

Levi P.O.V

I can't believe I cried like that in front of such a beautiful, busty, and curvy woman like Hasumi. I mean, I should've swooned her like those Vinlander films about outlaws, cowboys as they were called.

Lucky you, she's simply one of many beauties thirsting for you.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot Reila was still with Arona, given that you're silent most of the time.

Anyway, Hasumi is currently acting as a guide to her school for me. The whole place, even the people here looks like the very definition of wealthy... obscenely wealthy that is.

Hmm, that's a big ass cathedral right there, even bigger than the cathedral back in Prehevil. Isn't that where the blood portal was?

"Is that so, Levi-Sensei?" Hasumi asked, turning to me and away from where she's looking and walking. "I've always wondered why those, along with religion in general are so important to some people." She wondered, making a thinking pose with a hand in her chin.

Hmm, worship and prayers were kind of comforting for most people back there and then. Entrusting ourselves and our wishes to a being higher than us, specially if this being in question is benevolent... is soothing.

"When life is hard, people need to have something to believe in." I said, pausing to see if she's listening. Hmm, as a teacher, it's good to know there's actually somethings I can teach. "We wanted to believe that our suffering meant something." I followed up, remembering all the times I've seen someone start praying out of desperation.

"I see." Hasumi said, smiling and nodding in understanding. "I admit, I don't actually see the need for it if we're living in safe times." So she said, turning around and motioning for me to follow after her, to continue our tour of her school.

"You don't need to." Yeah, she doesn't need to understand the need for religion and worship. "It's life, things happen even if you don't get it." I said. I see her tilting her head a little back to me, nodding.

"Hmm, that sounds like something elders would say." She said, walking through the school as she did. I mean... I've never met much old people. "To have that kind of wisdom that young, you must have had quite a life." Yup, so short yet filled to the brim with stuff happening.

As we kept walking, towards a building that I can see is guarded by little girls with similar uniforms to Hasumi.

"It's him! The magician Sensei." I overheard some of the other students in pristine white clothing, and wings say aloud.

"I wonder what kind of magic he still has up his sleeves!" One of the girls in a black and red uniform like Hasumi's wondered aloud.

"Hmph, I heard he taught one of those filthy Gehenners magic!" You... how dare you... "I don't know what those Gehenners did to him, but it looks like he can still be-"

[Killing Intent]

"- eep!" she yelped to a stop as she looked at me, cowering and stepping back before turning tail and fleeing away.

"Levi-Sensei..." I turn to see Hasumi's concerned eyes. "You needn't mind the words of other people if it upsets you." She said with a reassuring tone. Yeah, I guess you're right.

"Good, now come. The JTF headquarters arr here." She doesn't seem to mind the two little guards, looking at me, scared and trembling.

Somehow, I can tell even with their hair covering their eyes.

"Oh, no need to be scared." Hasumi finally notices the two, who are still trying to back away with the wall not letting them. "He's not as scary as Kronos would want you to believe." Well, there's still the cuts in my face but sure, let's blame them.

"As y-you wish, Vice P-president Hasumi." One of them said, urging the other to open the gate with her. "W-welcome to the Justice Task Force headquarters." They still delivered their welcome even with the initial stuttering.

They were shaking a little in fear as they saluted us. Hmm, that's a weirdly simple salute. Regardless, I salute back out of reflex, to which they ceased their shaking with a look of surprise before putting their hands down and giving me a smile.

"Now, Levi-Sensei, there's someone I want you to meet." Hasumi said, as we entered through the gate. "She's absurdly shy, I hope you don't mind that." Hmm, I was also really shy prior to meeting Miss Abella, so I really don't mind.

"Great!"

/

"She's not here?!" Hasumi groaned out as the little one she's asking answered her question.

"Y-yes, Vice President. President Tsurugi left for a mission." The little girl nervously reported. "It should be near here, specifically in xxxxxxxxx street." She added, hoping to ease Hasumi's feelings.

Hmm, everyone here is small, has the same black and red uniform with their hair covering their eyes. How do they even see things like that? It doesn't seem to affect their vision as it is.

"Right." So Hasumi said, turning around and walking hastily, locking her arm around mine to pull me along. "I'm sorry, but you really, really need to see her." Hasumi said with both desperation and frustration.

... alright Hasumi, whatever you say.

/

"Ahh, there she is!" Hasumi said aloud in relief, pointing at that... girl with a seemingly tattered uniform. Said girl looks deranged, with the way she's laughing roughly as she threw herself at the delinquents in her way. "That's President Tsurugi!" So she said.

I can see that she's armed with small... trench guns in each hand, judging by how it blasted away one of the Sukebens in one shot. Her red halo... looks like it's bleeding. Her wings... it looks to be the same size as Hasumi's, just a lot of feathers plucked and not taken care off.

But more importantly, how is she going to reload? As I wonder in my head, I see her pulling her thumb away from the handle. She then stretches her arm in one fast motion, pulling it back just as fast as... the bolt mechanism is connected to the trigger and grip.

A used shell is thrown out, and she charges the other delinquents in a crazed way. That trench gun... it's an amazing design, I can use trench guns again if I had it!

"You want the exact same shotgun she has?" Hasumi asked with a smile, my thought going to my speech as it's been doing for a while now. "It's a lever action model 1887, if you're looking for it later." Is that so? Thanks Hasumi!

I see Tsurugi aim both of her lever action trench guns, as Hasumi just called it, at the group of delinquents. A burst of red and black aura came from her, laughing wildly before she blasted the line of Sukebens, scattering them around the place.

The blast of those trench guns... got stronger... was it that aura of hers?

Tsurugi drops her trench guns, pulling another dual pair... from out of her ass? How the hell?! I thought as she wildly chased after the few fleeing delinquents, leaving the two discarded trench guns right there.

I see some of those small girls, reminding me of the Prefect foot soldiers with how their hair is covering their eyes, walking to the downed delinquents,. Some awake some asleep.

The JTF foot soldiers crouching down to put handcuffs on them, and then bringing them up to escort them to wherever else but the prisons. Now that I think about it, I'm not seeing them engaging in combat... are they... just not concerned for their leader?

"Oh my, there she goes again." Hasumi said with a sigh, as if she's talking about a troublemaking child. I mean... she does look like a mother now that I think about it. "Eh?! Seriously?!" ... I'm ignoring that.

I run towards Tsurugi's discarded trench guns, picking one up and examining it more than I did.

I hold it by the handle, putting it in my left armpit and pushing the mechanism forward opening up the ejection port, throwing out the fired shell and revealing that there's still a live shell in it.

"Aaaggh! Get away from me!" I turn to look at a fleeing Sukeben, desperation obvious in her eyes. Tsurugi is a little far away, but she is catching up to her scarily fast.

The lone Sukeben stopped and looked on in fear as I aimed the trench gun at her.

[Executioner]

She's barely able to make a sound as I fired, the firepower throwing my arm up and sliding me away as she was blasted back. Damn, the force actually made me slide backwards.

The Sukeben was kicked to the side midair by Tsurugi, our eyes meeting as the delinquent was kicked out of our line of sight... she's... scary.

Wait, nevermind, she's blushing.

"Finally, Levi-Sensei, meet the President of the Justice Task Force, Kenzaki Tsurugi." Hasumi walked in between us, turning her back on Tsurugi to face me, making a presenting motion with her hands with a smile.

"Kyaasagh! Aaaagh!" Tsurugi screamed and screech along with heavy blushing as she hid behind Hasumi, occasionally peeking out. "H-Hello... S-Sensei!" She said in a rough, stuttery voice.

... There's something with your leaders looking intimidating at first but actually being shy and cute.

"I'm Levi... of Prehevil." I greeted back as I brought my hand up and waved, giving her a smile as I did. "You work harder than most leaders to be dealing with problems yourself." At my words, she has a shocked and surprised expression before it morphed into a smile... a creepy looking smile, but I can tell she's just very, very happy at my praise.

[Levi-Sensei, Miss Tsurugi sent you a Momochat message a few days ago.] She did? Thanks Arona! I pull out my phone, opening it to look for Tsurugi's message... and there it is.

[Tsurugi: Kyaaaak!]

[Tsurugi: Kyaaaa!]

[Tsurugi: Kyaoooaach!]

[Tsurugi: Gyaa!]

... How do I even respond to this?

[You: Now that I'm here, you can tell me what you want help for.]

I hit the send button, and I hear a ring from her direction. She looks on surprise before pulling her phone out of her pocket, looking- no, reading something, most likely my message.

"Gyaaa!" She screamed in fear and... emberassment? That's one overdramatic way of showing it. She was about to throw her phone to All-Mer knows where, but thankfully, Hasumi stopped her.

"Now stop that, President." Hasumi scolded, and Tsurugi listened, lowering herself a little and looking up at Hasumi like a child. "You wanted his help, right? Well now you're getting it!" At her words, Tsurugi shyly but eagerly nodded her head with a slight blush.

"Hehe, you two are like mother and daughter." I said outloud with a chuckle, they pause and stare at me before looking a little flustered.

"P-please, don't tease us like that!" Sorry, Hasumi.

"Gyaaaa! Kyaaoook!" Tsurugi screamed with her entire face flushing red, trying to get Hasumi to remove her grip on her arms. Hmm, she's trying to run away?

I made this happen, so I should fix it. I start approaching the duo, Tsurugi sees me approaching and starts thrashing around wildly. Thankfully, Hasumi's weight is keeping her on ground instead of being thrown around by Tsurugi.

"Please, Calm down, Tsurugi!" Hasumi shouted with a little frustration. She doesn't seem to be struggling much.

Tsurugi freezes as she sees that were just inches away from eachother with Hasumi holding her down, and before she could react, I put my hand on her head, patting it.

"There there, Tsurugi." I said in a comforting tone, and she's finally calmed down. "I'm here for you. No need to be shy, just tell me what you need." As I said that, she... looks normal this way, just looking at me shyly with a blush.

"I... I need... to take my picture." She said slowly, trying to contain herself. "It feels weird to me... to take my own picture." She explained, looking away in emberassment. Wait, what does she mean by taking her own photo?

That phone thing you, and everyone here have is like an all in one tool. It's a camera, radio, telegram, television, there's even this thing called videogames!

I heard Reila explaining in my head. Is that so, Reila? You sure sound excited about that videogame thing, tell me about it later.

"I... Miss Karin though me a little about photography." Tsurugi looks up to me with a wide smile, a little too wide. And Hasumi's eyes widened, probably at the mention of her name. "So yeah, you got the right idea calling to me for help." I know Tsurugi is smiling happily, but the way her eyes are in tandem with her smile is reminding me a little of Needles when he was still walking.

"That woman... you said she was a journalist." Hasumi wondered, with Tsurugi looking back at her with curiosity. "No matter, you two should start with the picturing." She said, letting go of Tsurugi, who holds her phone with both hands before handing it over to me.

As I take it in my hand, she hovers and slides her index finger on the sides, the screen lighting up in activation as she did, revealing the group photo of who I assume to be the other JTF officers.

"Lower... left, camera.. app." Tsurugi roughly yet shyly let me know. I don't know what an app is, but I think I get it as I tapped that small image of a camera and it expanded into the whole screen.

Alright..."Arona, take the photo when you think it's time to do so." I mumbled lowly, just enough that only Arona to hear. I point Tsurugi's phone at her, aligning the image seen by the phone camera at her face. "Alright Tsurugi, smile!" Tsurugi looked on startled for a split second before stretching her lips into a smile. A brief bright white snap into the camera for a moment.

My eyes recover from the flash, and I see... she looks absolutely deranged... her smile looks like that janitors who sawed my legs off in the nightmare in the train.

I pry my eyes off of the picture in the phone and to Tsurugi herself. She looks nervous, with some shaking here and there. She lets out a normal looking smile as she waits for me to show her the picture I took... yeah no.

I adjust my hold on the phone, having three of my fingers on one side and my thumb on the sides so the movement of my trigger finger pressing that circle I noticed Arona push with a blue flickering doesn't move the camera too much.

[Gunslinger]

Surprisingly, my reflexes actually work well like this. I quickly press to take as many pictures as possible, before she could react and make a crazed face once again.

Unluckily for me, the flashes gave her one second too much to react and all of the images I took of Tsurugi showed her looking like a Sulfur cultist.

"Aaaaaaagh!" Tsurugi screamed in despair at the words I unknowingly let out into the world.

"Hmm, so that's what they look like." I heard Hasumi ask in an inquisitive tone, with Tsurugi looking at her as if in betrayal.

"Not really," I deny, making sure the blow on Tsurugi's self esteem is softened, even if it's a little. "They all mutilated themselves for some reason." Tsurugi lets out a look and sigh of relief, while Hasumi looks nauseous just imagining what someone like Needles, Stitches, and that Janitor looks like.

But more importantly, how do I distract Tsurugi for long enough that I can take a picture, but at the same time make her put on a normal smile? Hmm, it's been with me this entire time, I can't believe it took me this long to realize.

[Pyromancy Trick]

I put my entire focus, ignoring the slight headache that comes with casting spells, in the space in between Tsurugi and I. The spark first comes followed by an entire hand sized fireball, getting her, and Hasumi's full attention.

It's... I feel like I have more control over it here.

"Look at that! It's the Mage Sensei!" I overheard someone from a little far away exclaim. Looks like I'm the center of attention again with my magic.

"It's real... I thought those were just visual errors in the videos." I overheard another person speaking in awe and disbelief.

Ignoring the rest, I control the small ball of fire to move in a spiral pattern around us. Tsurugi looks on in wonder, letting a small sweet smile like she's a little girl seeing... well, she really is seeing literal magic.

Aiming the camera at her face, I press to take a picture and in a split second, commanding the fire to move towards me. She looks to me with that expression of awe and that small smile as the flash dissipated and the picture was taken.

Finally, a photo showing her cute and beautiful side!

"That amazing, Levi-Sensei!" Hasumi gushes out from behind me as she looks at the picture I took. This... is amazing? "The lighting, the angle and perspective, it's all perfect. and as you've just said, it truly shows President Tsurugi's more beautiful side!" I mean... yeah, no arguing with that.

I look at Tsurugi to see that she's blushing, with a look and smile of happiness at Hasumi's reaction. She looks to me, no doubt wanting to see the picture for herself.

And so, I hand her back her phone. She takes it, slowly, nervously yet in anticipation turning the phone to look at it. She widened her eyes for a moment before she make a face of awe and happiness.

"T-thank you... Sensei!" Tsurugi said, losing her usual gloomy demeanor and replacing it into a brightened one.

I'm glad... to know that I can make someone happy like this.

We talked a little more before we parted ways for the time being. I wanted to explore more of Trinity by myself, rich places usually don't have much crimes happening in it, so I'll be safe... probably.

Walking along the bridge hovering above the road, I take in the clean and peaceful look around me along with the numerous sleek looking cars and trucks moving across the road.

"Sensei! You're here?!" That voice! I turn my head towards it, seeing Suzumi with her silvery white hair and that small wing left side of her head moving excitedly. "It's not safe around here. Please tell me where you're going, I'll escort you." Are... you sure? I mean...

"Places with wealthy people in it are usually the safest." I say, trying to politely refuse her offer. I kind of want to spend more time with her, but not like that. "But yeah, I'd appreciate it if you showed me around the place." Suzumi seems to brighten up at my words.

"Very well." She said, nodding to herself. "There's a mall not too far he-" Suzumi spoke, looking around as she did before her expression turned to that of alert.

Alright, what is she staring at? I turn around, following where her eyes are looking. I see... some of those rich looking girls with their phones out, pointing their cameras at me like I did for Tsurugi.

Am I... really interesting enough to be photographed like that? "Sensei, it's dangerous!" Suzumi shouted, putting one of her arms around me and pulling me back. I see her other arm throwing that flashbang thing at the onlookers.

"Flash!" She said, the same way we would shout "frag" or "grenade" back in the trenches. I hear a loud bang, followed by the screams of the girls who were taking pictures of me.

"Aagh! My eyes! I can't see!"

"Uaaagh! My head is spinning!" Does... it also concuss it's targets? Damn, there's a lot of convenient stuff here in Kivotos.

"What the hell is going on?!" You tell me.

"Come one Sensei! Let's leave before they recover." ... You know what, I'm letting her do her thing for now.

/

"Finally, we should be safe here." Suzumi said with a sigh of relief. "To think they would target you in broad daylight, how bold!" I... how does she identify threats?!

"Suzumi, they were just taking pictures of me." I say, a little annoyed with how she dragged me to this... market like place, it's reminiscing of the Prehevil business district.

"That's what you would think!" So Suzumi said. "They were most likely delinquents taking it to report to their superiors." She continued, making some sense, but-

"They were there, it was gonna be a long time before they R.T.B and show their boss the pictures." She widens her eyes, and raises her eyebrows. What do you not get, Suzumi?

"They can send it through Momochat." ... they can?

Yeah, you never noticed or wondered why there was a camera icon in the messaging system?

No I didn't, Reila, no I didn't. But-!

"They can?!" I blurted out, I mean... just think about how versatile a tool like that can be! Suzumi is startled by my outburst, even taking a step back. "That would've made recon back in the trenches more convenient." Yeah, just snap a picture of the Bremen positions and send it back to command. They'll be obliterated by artillery and airstrikes.

"Recon? Trenches?" Suzumi wondered at my words. "And using picture messages to coordinate an artillery strike, that's quite an imagination you have, Sensei." She looks impressed at my idea. Wait, has no one here ever thought of using it like that?

"But nevermind that, here in the mall, there are... ma..ny.." I hear Suzumi trail off, looking on in caution with narrowed eyes somewhere behind me... oh no, don't you- "Suspicious individuals sighted!" She takes a flashbang out of her pocket, she's about to pull its pin but-

[Steal]

"Fla-! Eh-?! Sensei?!" She was about to shout flash and was already in a throwing motion, but thankfully I managed to snatch it out of her hands. "But Sensei-!" Suzumi... looks a little afraid.

"Suzumi, there's no one here who wants to harm us." I said, extending my arm and my left stump around, the sleeve on it just staying down, to emphasize how harmless this whole place is. "You said there were many somethings here before you trailed off and threw that flash?" That snapped her out of whatever she was thinking.

"Well, there is something I think you'd like." She said, walking to somewhere holding my hand to make me follow her.

This place... I think it's selling some accessories for phones. I can see plugs that fit some of the holes in phones, and some covers for it like a sheath.

I see her taking something off a shelf... it looks like those things radio operators put in their heads and ears, but smaller. She just bought it, taking it off the box and plugging it to her phone and wrapping that thing around my head and ears.

"I overheard Acting President Rin say that technology where you're from is not as advanced as ours." Suzumi asks as she's swiping through her phone, giving me slight glances to which I nod. "I see, then they definitely don't have these." She said with a confident smile.

"These things radio operators use? We have them." I say back, a little confused at her words.

"These aren't for radios." She explained, finally stopping her swiping of her phone. "Levi-Sensei, what kind of music do you like?" She asks, looking at me intently.

I mean... I don't even know what most kind music are called, I only know jazz.

"Hmm, is that so? Well, I don't think this counts as jazz, but I think you'll like it." She told me with a smile, tapping somethings in her phone and before long, I hear... music.

Some beats and a guitar, and finally comes the singer.

They told him: don't you ever come around here, don't wanna see your face you better disappear.

The music, the beats, the singers voice... it's chaotic, yet in coordination. I can feel my feet tapping and head bobbing a little.

"Yeah, I was like that when I first heard the song." Suzumi said with a smile of remembrance. "It's "Beat It" by "M.J", the song and singer." That's good to know, Suzumi.

the fire's in their eyes, and their words are really clear so beat it, just beat it.

"That M.J guy must be really famous for being so good." I said, still tapping my feet to the rhythm of the music.

You better run, you better do what you can, don't wanna see blood, don't be a macho man.

"Well, he was... but he got sick, so..." Suzumi trails off. I see, I let her know that she doesn't need to say anymore.

They're out to get you, better leave while you can. You don't wanna be a boy, you wanna be a man.

I don't know why, but the last two lines in tandem with the music struck something in me.

"It's good to see you being happy, Levi-Sensei!" Suzumi said, taking my hand again and walking me through this mall place. "This fits you more than your usual depressed look." Yeah, but I got better.

You have to show them that you're really not afraid. You're playing with your life, this ain't no truth or dare.

Even if the lyrics are lost to me, I can still feel it resonate with my heartbeat.

They'll kick then they beat you, then they tell you: it's fair, so beat it, just beat it

That line... it hit a little too close home for me.

"Which line?" Suzumi... you don't need to know about it.

This headset thing as Suzumi just called it... I like it.

"I knew you would!" She proudly proclaimed with a smile. "And it's my gift to you. And no, refusal is not an option!" Is that so, Suzumi...

Well, this is mine now... thanks, Suzumi!

Her phone then rings, prompting her to check what for. "I'm needed elsewhere, delinquents and all that stuff." She said, looking to me with a sad look. That's fine, I let her know that she's made my trip here fun. She then gives me a smile before turning and running off to where she's needed.

Now that she's gone away... there's a student close by who's asked for my help, Koharu is her name... the way she's wording her chat is a little weird and specific. Yeah, sure, I'll be there.

/

Koharu P.O.V

I did it... I actually called that absolutely indecent Sensei for help, I didn't actually. As an elite of the JTF, it is my duty to protect the public, particularly from indecency.

Those skin bible things... I admit those have interesting information about divine beings, but... what in the world is up with the deities Gro-goroth and Sylvian?!

All the rest seemed normal, but why is Sylvian so... so... so desiring of carnal acts?! And her husband, the god of destruction... why does he have a nude woman in his body?! The grotesque image of his form was vomit inducing enough, but thats just-!

It's somehow even worse than those contraband material I was assigned to guard... which for some reason I decided to read... I won't get in trouble for that, will I? Of course I wont, someone needed to make sure the contents of those lewd books never saw the light of day.

And most of all... I heard from Vice President Hasumi about how he forced the Gehenna representative to... to... to touch herself! I mean, they're a rival academy, but still! To force a lady to do... that, is something I can't allow.

I need to make sure he never do-

"Excuse me." I heard a male voice addressing me from my side. I turn to see... him! Those cuts on his face... I can see it stretching open from his smile, and that armless left sleeve is just ominous. "Are you... Shimoe Koharu?" He asks, alternating his look on his phone and me.

"Y-yes, Sensei." I was so determined before he showed up, but now... just facing him is unnerving. "I-I've been falling b-behind in my studies, and I'm about to be transferred to the Make-up Work Club from the Justice Task Force." He raises his eyebrows in surprise at my explanation.

"You're with Hasumi?" Eh? Yes! He's acquainted with Vice President Hasumi? I mean, I saw him and the Vice President earlier together in the headquarters. But to think that they're close enough for first name basis... "First name basis? Where I come from, we normally call eachother by that." Wait... what? Did he just... read my thoughts?

I knew about him having magic, but... I subconsciously take a step back in fear, feeling my whole body tremble as I bought my hand up as a shield. No... that wouldn't make sense, every other magic he has so far revealed made sense, but not that.

"E-everyone here introduced themselves with their second names first, I didn't know those were their personal names." He nervously explained at the sight of me cowering. Hmm, maybe I just imagined it. "But moving on, I would've thought that people would study somewhere quiet like a classroom or a library." I mean... I like public, crowded places better. No chances for a pervert to do some shenanigans.

He's... why... is he analyzing me? "You're not here to just escape classes and go shopping, are you?" What?! I just told him!

"Like I just said, my grades are falling and I need your help." I sternly said, a little annoyed at his words. "And it's you're job as a Sensei to help me with that, right?" Yeah, like those rare guest lecturers that come once in a while. Wait, why does he look embarrassed?

"Sorry to say, but I don't think I can help much." What? But he's a teacher! Did the GSC President send someone unqualified?! "I didn't get proper schooling back where I'm from." He said, looking away in shame. Then why was he-

"People didn't care much about orphan boys like me." He explained, with a forced pained smile in his face. I... see. "At most, we were just beaten a lot." He said with a slight giggle. That's...

"Why are you joking about that?!" I couldn't help but shout out. Because, who would be amused like that in their own hardship?!

"That's not important right now, Koharu." He said, obviously telling me to forget about it. "That's in the past, what's important now are your grades. You're gonna need those in the future." He said with a caring look in his face. I mean... I guess he's right.

"Sure... we could probably learn from eachother." I said, feeling bad that I thought of such an unfortunate person as badly as I did.

"Thanks, but no thanks. Just give me a book on whatever subject you're lacking on, I'm really good at absorbing stuff from books!" He said, with a proud look on his face. I guess it's great that he's happy. "I soaked up the skin bibles like a sponge, whatever you're studying is a piece of cake for me!" Soaked up? Why does that sound so dirty?

"But so did Chinatsu, so I guess there's nothing special about that?" Chinatsu? I believe that's the name of the Gehenna representative VP Hasumi was... with... wait, isn't she.. "It was tempting to take a peak when she did the ritual for Sylvain, but they didn't want me doing that." ... I knew it! To be worshipping those kinds of gods, you'd have to be a deviant!

I feel my head wings twitching, occasionally covering my eyes. My cheeks are tingling into flustered blushes, and I'm taking some steps back again.

"Koharu..." He said with a concerned look, sounding unsure of what to do or say. "I'm not planning on doing anything to you." That's obviously a lie!

"I knew it... you were an indecent pervert." I stuttered out, on the verge of turning tail and just running away. "I'm not falling for your scheme like that poor Gehenna girl did!" We might be rivals, but I sympathize with the fact that she fell for Sensei's devious plans.

He raises his eyes in surprise... and now he's smiling! What is he smiling for?! He's planning on forcing me to touch myself, isn't he?! Like that poor Gehenna representative!

"I'm not falling for any of your advances!" I shouted out, somehow intimidated by his smile. "I've read enough of those books to know what will happen to me if I'm alone with you!" He halts his steps towards me, widening his eyes as he did.

"... And what sort of books were you reading, Koharu?" Huh? What... kind... of question is... that? I cautiously narrow my eyes at him, trying to discern what he's planning. "Koharu... am I missing something?" Nope, I won't fall for that!

"Nevermind!" I yelp out, turning around to run away. "You're a disgusting pervert, that's all I need to know!" I shouted, bolting as far away as my legs could take me from him. I quickly turn my head to peak at him, and I see him looking confused before giving me a small wave.

/

Levi P.O.V

Well... that just happened. I wonder what kind of books Koharu was reading, something about confiscated materials... maybe I can ask Hasumi or Tsurugi about it later.

But moving on, this shawarma thing is delicious. I bought one along with something called a "Coca" hanging by that transparent bag. I don't know what that means, but I giggle at the though that it's short for cocaine.

Back to the shawarma, it's a flat bread reminds me of Eastern Sanctuary food, with roasted beef and some really sweet sauces in it.

As I take another huge bite, savoring the taste and juices coming from the beef and melted cheese inside the flat bread. I see the bag I'm holding rotate the coca bottle revealing its-

Oh, it's Coca Cola. I actually thought it was Cocaine. Funny as it would've been, it's creator didn't make it so.

[Sensei! There's still three students close by asking for you.] I hear Arona saying through her tablets speaker. [It's the three Sisterhood higher-ups.] Oh yeah, them. They probably want to know more... were the skin bibles not enough?

I take a turn at the intersection in my path, staring at the almost transparent blue screen Arona's projecting directly infront of my face showing a map along with where I am and where the Sisterhood lies.

Taking another bite as I walked and stared at the holographic map, I saw... someone... with the same look on their eyes and body posture like the ones I and some other kids in my squad had by summer after fighting in the winter.

Across the corner, I see a girl with a dark baseball cap and dark blue hair like Rins. Her dark upper body wear doesn't cover her mid part, showing off her skin and curves. I can see that she's wearing some load bearing equipment both in her torso and as her belt.

She's wearing a long white open coat with an armband with a skull image in her left arm, she's armed with a simple assault rifle. Her halo is simple like the GSC Presidents with the cross shaped stars, but pale blue.

I wonder... what is she glaring at me for? I keep walking to obscure the fact that I'm looking at her through the near see through hologram map.

Levi... you're the only one who can see Arona, as well as whatever hologram she's projecting... to that suspicious girl, you're staring directly at her.

... Thanks Reila, it would've been better if I knew that before I passed by her direction and I turned my head to keep my eyes on her.

Too late, she's already widened her eyes in surprise and is in alert. I take a huge bite out of the shawarma, for one last taste incase I have to drop it and fight, shredding the bread meat and other ingredients with my teeth before swallowing.

[Mind Read]

Was I too complacent? The target is staring directly at me, should I retreat and report back to Madame Beatrice or do I eliminate him right here and now before he becomes a threat?

She takes a few steps back, readying her gun and getting into a fighting stance facing towards me.

As hard as it is to believe... he has magic on his side. Can I neutralize him before he can react? Should I get Misaki to bombard his position or Hiyori to snipe him? No, that would draw too much attention.

Interesting... those are two of her friends that I know of now, one of artillery and one of sniping... damn, I'm getting my ass pounded if shit goes down.

I squeeze the remaining shawarma in my hand, splattering some of its sauces and juices from the beef before I devoured the rest of it in two bites. I then take out the glass bottle of the Coca Cola thing, taking it's cap by my teeth and jerking it to remove it.

I turn my head up, chugging its sugary black liquid, emptying it in seconds. I feel the energy it contained and its sugars in my body as I pocket the now empty glass bottle, and crush it into shards with my hands covered by the skin of my pants.

And I stare back at her, taking in the sight of her eyes widened in confusion and a little fear at what I was doing. I can't help but start giggling, imagining her horrific realization of what the glass shards are for once we're up close in a fight.

[Intimidation] [Killing Intent]

"I'm gonna send you to hell, after that, Misaki, Hiyori, and your Madame Beatrice will soon follow." I muttered out, glaring and grinning in a deranged way at her. I'm kind of hoping someone like this girl in white coat can read lips... and I'm right.

She actually trembled despite the one who looks more intimidating. I see her pull one foot back, before turning away from me and sprinting away to somewhere I can't see.

... I can't believe I'm saying this, but that was disappointing... now how am I gonna explain my pocket being full of glass shards again?

"Levi-Sensei! Please wait up!" I heard a squeaky voice. I turn my head to see two of those nun girls I saw back in the blood portals activation.

The orange haired one with animal ears hidden under her veil is huffing but in relief.

"We heard you were in Trinity." She said, finally catching her breath. "You left before we could introduce ourselves. My name is Iochi Mari, it's nice to finally meet you!" The orange haired girl, Mari, introduced herself with an eager smile.

"And I'm Wakaba Hinata." The other bigger girl, Hinata, excitedly gave me her name. Those muscles on her arms... all the skin exposed... no, she's a nun, I'm not supposed to... "Sister Sakurako has been wanting to meet you, she was like a child in wonder at those skin bibles you release." Yeah, sure.

"I'm Levi of Prehevil, nice to meet you girls." I said, introducing myself to the two holy sisters. "Alright, lead the way."

Saori P.O.V

Why... was I so struck with fear back then?! He had his hands, or rather hand full and even if he did recognize me as a threat the I still would've won if we engaged.

But... how did he know?! He knew about Madame Beatrice! Does he have a spy here? Is it possible that he has magic that's equivalent to clairvoyance? Or, is it possible that he's watching and listening even now?! More importantly, what do I tell Madame?!

I desperately scramble my mind trying to come up with something, how I can explain it clearly to Madame... if she's upset, then...

Each step that the guards escorting me towards the Madame's chambers, each step closer I get to the Madame, the more my heart beats followed by my frantic breathing.

How do I tell her?! What do I tell her?!

"Oh? Back so soon, Saori?" The Madame questioned, as she's reading one of those skin bibles sitting with one of her legs on top of the other. "What is it?" She asks, her numerous eyes all focusing on me in an scrutinizing way.

"T-the S-Sensei... he knows a-about you, M-madame Beatrice." I stuttered out, remembering the spine tingling fear I felt when he simply looked at me. The Madame in an instant gritted her teeth, and tightened her hold on the book she's reading, almost tearing it apart.

"How?!" She roared, losing her calm composure and standing up, walking to me aggressively. "Did you tell on me?!" My heart skipped a beat at her accusation, I unconsciously take a step back in fear before she was right up my face.

"N-no... Madame... I did not." I answered in fear between heavy breaths. The way she's staring at me... looking down on me... "I... didn't even get close to him... we just made eye contact." I almost screamed out, but forced myself under control, not wanting to upset the Madame any further.

"Hmm, then pray tell, how did he know about me?" Madame Beatrice wondered aloud, walking away with a hand on her chin. I try to stabilize my breaths as Madame gave me my personal space back. "Do we have a defector? Perhaps an infiltrator? What do you think, Saori?" I don't know... I almost want to cry, but I'm miraculously holding on.

Now... what do I tell her? It's magic... no doubt... but what...

"Madame... I think it's magic." I answered with a little pause as I came up with the answer.

"Obviously." She wryly said, letting out a sigh of annoyance as she regained her composure and sat down. "What kind of magic do you think it was?" Why... does she keep asking me... I don't...

"Perhaps... it was mind reading?" I answered? Questioned? I don't even know with how so stupidly improbable that is. Madame Beatrice looks at me with her many eyes for a moment... before letting out a small giggle, covering her mouth with that fan of hers.

"And why do you think that is?" She asked in an amused tone with a smirk, before it morphed into that of seriousness and irritation. "You're the one I least expected to come up with those answers, Saori." She gestures for me to keep explaining.

"Explain the entire interaction between you and the boy playing pretend teacher." She's already normally terrifying, but she's even more so when in caution like this. "Everything, from start to end." Do I... include the minor details?

"W-we... made eye contact... as he was eating a snack." Madame Beatrice is looking at me intently, not even blinking any of her eyes once. "And he simply kept looking at me... even turning his head to keep looking at me." I see her widening her eyes a little, I can't tell if its from confusion or annoyance.

I can feel myself heavily sweating, trying my best to avoid making eye contact with the Madame.

"I... then contemplated in my mind... wether I should retreat and report back to you, or eliminate him then and there." I take a pause, still feeling the fear he made me feel back then.

"Saori... poor girl, you're trembling." Huh? Madame... is concerned for me? I force myself to look at her expression, and... ahh, she's truly concerned for me! "If this boy scares you so much, then just know that my teachings will guide you." Yes! Of course, Madame Beatrice is the one leading us to salvation. Of course she would show concern.

"As that line of thought crossed my mind, he immediately devoured what he was eating like an animal, and stared at me like a madman, a savage would." I explained, no longer feeling fear, but pride that we have our benevolent Madame by our side. "He mouthed to me that he would send me to hell, and you soon after. He even had the audacity to utter the name of two of my squad members, as well as your name with his filthy tongue!" As I tell the story of the rest of our encounter, I couldn't help but raise my voice at the last line.

"Is that so?" Of course, the Madame wouldn't show any fear. She's now back to reading that skin bible, no doubt preparing to use the knowledge he naively imparted to Kivotos against him. "Keep observing him, just make sure to do it from a distance." Madame Beatrice ordered, her entire focus on the book.

"Understood, Madame. Should we eliminate him before he learns more of us?"

"No, as much as I would want that, there are still some things in these skin bibles that are unfamiliar to me but he most likely knows. Take your time observing him."

Sakurako P.O.V

He, Levi-Sensei... is finally here, I can finally find out more about our forgotten God...

Those skin bibles, as Acting President Rin have called them, made more questions than it did answers. The thought that humanity is akin to a greater beings toys is naturally frightening.

The skin bible of Alll-Mer, the name of our forgotten God, gave both the feeling of inspired and terror. In a time where savagery and wars were common place, he gained power and influence in his peaceful teachings. But the way he had to suffer to attain true godhood, along with the revenge he exacted on his tormenters were... unnerving to say the least.

There being two stories of origin to humanity is interesting. In our scriptures, the holy man born of a virgin mother was the son of the true God instead of one who ascended to become one. The first two humans were created in this gods image, but in the skin bible... no, no, perhaps it's simply different where Levi-Sensei is from, it's best if I don't think about it.

And the skin bibles of the nature deity, and the God of Fear and Hunger he's talked about. The story of how supposedly, humanity and the god of nature went to war against one another, and that humanity won and killed the god Vinushka. It is... a relief to know that mere feeble humans have a fighting chance against such beings.

As for the God of Fear and Hunger, it's story was more inspiring than how I expected it to be ominous and tragic. A mere child that only knew suffering, ascending to become a benevolent god that gave the ones suffering the strength and greater bonds they needed to keep on persisting despite how hard things got... that is nothing short of inspirational.

Right here in the altar of our cathedral, I eagerly await for his arrival accompanied by Mari and Hinata. I can barely contain my excitement at what knowledge he can offer... and magic, perhaps he knows what some of the artifacts hidden away in the basement.

Ahh, finally. I thought with widened eyes as the double doors of the cathedral opened up, and Mari, Hinata, and finally Levi-Sensei walked in.

I couldn't get a clear look at him last time when he went through that portal exactly as I finished drawing the cross sigil, the JTF had his full attention and he fled back to the portal at the sight of the Kronos helicopter.

But now that I see him... I feel morbid interest at how his armless left sleeve simply flowing along the wind. And even from this distance, I can see the pink flesh under the cuts on his face.

"Head sister, Levi-Sensei is here." Mari said with a bow, moving to the sides along with Hinata doing the same.

"Hey, Sakurako, was it?" He greeted with a smile, raising his arm as a gesture of greeting. "Sorry, we couldn't speak more the last times." Levi-Sensei spoke in an apologetic tone.

"I-it is of no concern, Sensei. I'm d-delighted enough that y-you agreed to a formal meeting." I'm... normally more composed that this, but I feel like a child with how much I want to ask about Alll-Mer and his magic or blessings.

"Yeah no, as far as I know, the only useful blessings and magic Alll-Mer has to offer are the blood portals and blood sword." ... What? Did he... just read my mind? Also, blood portals? Swords? Why did it have to have such an ominous name?! "Before we actually start... do you have a confessional?" He asked, no doubt remembering something bad judging by the look on his face.

"Yes, we have." I said, gesturing to where it is with my hand as his eyes followed. I see Mari, hard working as usual offering to be the one hearing and forgiving whatever sins he may have committed.

And so in they went, with both Hinata and I watching and waiting with a smile after they entered the booth. It's good to know that that Levi-Sensei is interested in upholding church traditions.

...

...

...

It's been almost ten minutes... this is longer than usual...

After a few minutes, sister Mari finally comes out of her side of the booth, with eyes widened in horror and on the verge of tears at whatever Levi-Sensei has confessed to. He soon followed out after a few seconds, coming out of the booth and walking towards me slowly as sister Mari walked towards the entrance and exit of the cathedral, that traumatized look never leaving her as well as not even blinking once.

I look at sister Hinata, silently gesturing for her to to check up on sister Mari as both of us looked on in concern. Hinata ran to catch up with Mari, and I turn to look at Sensei with shame present in his eyes.

"I think... I committed too many sins at this age for her liking." He said, with a self deprecating smile and giggle. "Or maybe it's how disgusting most of it were." It's good to know that he's regretful and aware of himself, many in positions of power are not.

"Thank you, Madre Sakurako." Madre?! No, no, no, I'm just a sister. Wait, are you... truly reading my mind? I wasn't just imagining it earlier? "Yeah, I was. The first time I saw you on TV, I immediately knew you were a good person and I could trust you if my life depended on it." He said to me with a smile... that... is good to know, Sensei.

"I've been walking a whole lot today, let's talk as we're walking." He said, the fatigue showing in his body language. "There were artifacts you wanted to show me in this church basement?" He asked with brows raised in confusion, no doubt wondering why I wouldn't know about the holy artifacts in our possession.

"Of course, follow me, Levi-Sensei."

/

"Is there no skin bible dedicated to that deity of sulfur you talked about?" I ask as we're walking downstairs to the basement containing the strange artifacts our predecessors left no writings of. "And I noticed the term "New Gods" are seperate from Ascended Gods and Old Gods." I follow up, looking back to him as I carefully take my steps down.

"The Sulfur God was born from the hatred Alll-Mer abandoned when he ascended. There was barely anything from it in centuries... until the sulfur cult appeared in Prehevil." He, most likely unconsciously, put on a hardened face and gritted teeth at the mention of this sulfur deity's worshippers. So, a god of hatred then... pitiful, but to show that much repulsiveness towards it... I can only imagine what it's worshippers were like.

"You don't need to know about them." He said, almost like a warning. Are you saying... it's better if such people and their practices are never known about? At my thoughts, I see him nodding his head. "And about the New Gods." I immediately put all my focus on his words that I almost tripped and fell.

Before I could, he caught me by the armpit, carrying my entire weight by his one and only, scrawny arm... oh no, my apologies for calling you scrawny.

"That's fine, anyways. The New Gods, I also called them false gods when you were in TV are... humans who have attained a fraction of an old or ascended god's power." He explained, lifting me a little to help me regain my footing so we may keep walking. I see, interesting... wait, I see a green flickering of a womans figure behind him... almost like it's whispering to him. "That's all I know... and yeah, don't mind Reila." He... wait, he's aware?! So that would mean... it's a ghost?!

... You know what... I think I really will ignore it.

"And here we are, Levi-Sensei." I said, gesturing towards the many crates containing maybe hundreds of those stones resembling what Hasumi described in her report, as well as a sizable stack of empty scrolls that our predecessors wrote never to waste even one of.

I see him widening his eyes as those thoughts passed my mind, walking closer to me in a frantic way and holding me by my shoulder. "Soul stones, you have hundreds of soul stones in those crates?!" Yes, is such a thing that important to be reacted upon that way? "Yes! That's what gives people magic!" ... Truly?! We've been sitting on a metaphorical gold mine this whole time?!

"No wait... most of these are just small fragments, or inactive." ... That observation of his confuses me, because how does one make a piece of rock active? "I count... at least 30 whole and active ones." That's great I suppose.

I see that green flickering appear behind him again, judging by the outline, it's telling him something. He turns his eyes to it, listening to every word he's hearing before nodding and turning to me.

"Sakurako, do you have a pen or quill with you?" Sensei asked, looking towards the shelf of centuries old blank scrolls. "If you have, can you take one of those out for me?" He followed up, pointing at it as he turned his head to look back at me.

"Of course." I walk past him, handing him a pen from one of my pockets, before carefully taking one out. It would be shameful of me to let a one armed man do something without offering any sort of assistance.

Is he... actually planning on writing on it? I feel reluctance as I unroll the blank paper open to him, setting it on a nearby table, since... you know... it's a sacred artifact to be stored and protected.

He muttered something out to the ghost behind him, his hand holding the pen hovering above the parchment paper. "O Lord... Teach Phase?" Levi-Sensei asked in confusion, directed to the transparent ghost as it made a nodding motion.

And so, he started scribbling at the paper artifact. I felt myself cringing as he started writing without any sort of hesitance... I mean... it's a centuries old artifact for goodness sake!

I then hear Sensei grunting in pain, dropping the pen and holding his head, taking a few steps back as he dropped to his knees. And then... the parchment paper he wrote on... started disintegrating, it's pieces slowly melting and disappearing into thin air before it fully dissipated.

"Levi-Sensei, are you alright?!" I shouted out in concern, rushing to his side as he did. He glances at me as I was running to him, he just... disappeared... what?! I frantically turn my head left and right, looking for where he is.

"Behind you." I turn around to where his amused voice came from. There he is... giggling like a child. "I can't believe it worked!" He excitedly exclaimed with a wide smile.

That's... amazing, real magic itself was already amazing enough, but to see it personally before me...

"Sakurako, can you keep those scrolls a secret?" Of course, it would be troublesome if the general public knew that learning magic was that easy, and so I nodded. "Great! Then can I take some of those stones? I promise to teach you and those two, Mari and Hinata magic if you want." Really? I couldn't stop myself from making an expression of awe and wonder like a child.

"Y-yes! Of course!" I eagerly answered in affirmation. "Take as much as you want!" It's probably a bad idea to hand over that much artifacts in a whim, but... if he can put it to good use, then I will permit it.

"But before that, can you tell me more about Alll-Mer and the other gods?"

/

Mari P.O.V

"Are you really alright, Mari?" Hinata asked with a worried tone, patting my shoulder and back.

"I-I am... no need to worry." I stuttered out, still catching my breath from all the vomiting I did.

Levi-Sensei... I weep for how unfortunate his life is... so unfortunate that it's obvious in the cuts on his face and a missing limb. While most students here were learning, making friends, and so much other things even before we reached highschool age.

But Levi-Sensei... he looks close to our age, yet he was already exposed to unimaginable tragedies and atrocities. What's even worse is that... he participated in it... he didn't even sound concerned about himself... he didn't hesitate to confess... the things he did. He... thankfully doesn't intend to do any such things in Kivotos.

And it's fortunate that he wanted forgiveness and to never have to resort to such drastic measures ever again, even if he was justified in doing so.

"What did he tell you anyways?" No, Hinata, I can't tell you that, you know how confessions are supposed to be. "Did he threaten you?" No he didn't!

I glared and pouted at her, eyes still watery from all the vomiting. She seems to understand as she looked relieved and nodded.

The church doors opened again, revealing Levi-Sensei with a small bag of something accompanied by head sister Sakurako. Turning his head to look at us, giving us a smile and a wave as he walked.

We watched on as he went into the portal we made, a black and red flash engulfed him and then he disappeared.

Eh? We can learn magic if we want? Head sister Sakurako, she's serious?! I guess that's great then.

Levi P.O.V

It's been a short while since I was last here in Schale, my supposed personal office. I'm just gonna leave this small bag of soul stones in the basement.

That phase spell paired with Betels ring, it didn't give me any kind of headache when I used it... the versatility and movility it will give me...

"Oh? Levi-Sensei, you're here?" Is that... I turn to where the voice came from, and I see Yuuka, holding some kind of document in her hand. "Perfect, I was just going to leave the invoice here. Now that you're present, I can teach you about this." She said with a confident smile. I mean... yeah, the more I know I guess.

"And what is that bag you're carrying?" Oh this? Turns out, those nun girls in Trinity had some of these things in their basement. "They did?! Do they also have magic?" She shouted out in disbelief, almost dropping that document she's holding.

"Not really... wanna learn magic, Yuuka?" I offered to her. Yeah, for the girl who cooked and fed me such a delicious meal, as well as making a new arm for me... she deserves it. "I a-appreciate the o-offer, but..." She nervously, yet politely refused the offer as she stuttered.

I kind of want it, but I don't want to have to so some kind of ritual like Chinatsu of the Gehenna Prefect had to.

"You don't have to do any rituals." I told her with a smile, pausing to let her take in my words. "There's a new ascended god desperate for followers that she's made her spells practically free." And for a moment, she just stared. She's now looking excited for it.

"The hell do you mean I'm desperate for followers?!" I heard Reila's distorted voice as she almost fully manifested ethereal form, some parts of her body transparent or didn't manifest.

"Aaagh!" Yelped out a startled Yuuka as she stepped back with a face full of fear. "It's a ghost! It's actually a ghost!" She screamed out in disbelief. I mean... she does come from a science school, so ghost wouldn't be real or possible for her.

Reila turned to look at Yuuka, her expression changing from irritation to an awkward smile as she saw Yuuka looking at her fearfully, about to cry.

"H-hey, girl.. Uhm.. Yuuka was it?" She nervously talked as she floated to Yuuka's direction, causing her to start screaming out of fear, trying to get away but could only push against the wall behind her. "I'm not a bad ghost! I'm not gonna hurt you, I swear!" She desperately proclaimed to the trembling Yuuka.

"You... won't?" Asked Yuuka in a doubtful tone, staring up at the floating figure of Reila. She takes a few moments staring at me and back to her.

"I'm Reila, nice to meet you. Sorry I startled you, the soldier boy kinda annoyed me." She told Yuuka with a smile before turning to glare at me.

"T-then... you're a... god?" She was, but not anymore... for the most part... I think. "That makes things more confusing, Levi-Sensei." Yuuka said, pushing herself up to a standing position.

"So yeah, as Levi there said, the Machine God's spells don't need a ritual out of you like Sylvains self love, or Gro-goroths blood or human sacrifice. Just need a soul stone or two for high quality spells." Yuuka looked concerned at the mention of the Machine God and human sacrifices.

"And which spells... needed human sacrifices?" She asked, looking at me with concern.

"That's not really needed, just one of the rituals of choice for Gro-goroth." Yuuka sighs in relief at Reila's words. Thanks Reila... I wouldn't have wanted Yuuka to know that I...

"Remember that explosion with the black and red aura? That was Hurting. And the other spell I mentioned, black orb. There's also the black smog and necromancy spells." I explained, just to give Yuuka an idea of the god of destructions blessings.

She nods in understanding as she took in my word, before snapping her eyes open in realization of something. "Wait, necromancy?!" Yeah, why does she so- oh, wait now I see it. "You can bring someone back to life?!" Yuuka shouted out, making some weird noises as she looked on incredulously.

"Not really, it's more like turning a corpse to a pet." I said, reminiscing about the ghouls that I intended to use as meatshields, but was more tiring to take care of as they had little instinct for survival.

I'm thinking about you two, ghoulash the 1st and 2nd,. Scratching your balls instead of dodging a really slow attack you could see from miles away.

"Yup, I'm returning to Arona now. Have fun learning magic little Yuuka!" And with that, Reila flickered out of reality. Leaving Yuuka just dumbfounded with what's been happening in the past minute or so.

"So... you wanna learn magic?" I said, snapping Yuuka out of her stupor.

"I'd love to... but first, can you give me a checkbook or a receipt of what you've been buying?" She looked eager at first, but then narrowed her eyes as she asks for... whatever a checkbook is. "Those students from Abydos, the ones who came through the portal after you left, told me you bought things that you shouldn't have." I don't see th- no, Ayane for mad when she read the small slip of paper. Better just to play du-

I stop my thoughts as a hand sized green flickering appeared in front of Yuuka, fully manifesting into a small slip of paper as she held it. She then narrowed her eyes as she read it.

... Goddamnit Reila.

"Sensei... you used up your entire monthly salary buying ammunition." Yeah, Ayane specifically asked for that and some other supplies at first. But moving on, those were my salary?! I thought Rin was just lending me pocket money. "I see... you bought four large bottles of vodka." As she spoke, she looked and glared at me. Hey, I'm old enough for it, why do you girls have to make it such a big deal?

"Because, you're an adult, you're supposed to act as a role model for us students." I... guess you're right. "I can tell you're older and more experienced than us, but at the same time still close to our age... so I guess just a little as Chinatsu said would be alright." She said, putting on a worried reluctant face as she basically gave me permission to keep drinking.

"How old are you anyway? Hasumi made a rough estimate of a year or two older, but I'm curious." She said with an inquisitive look, walking closer to me as she did.

"I'm 18." And so I answered her question. Hmm, why did she just freeze? Is it because she expected me to be older than that?

"I thought you were older, at least 20... but to lose a limb that early in life..." Oh cheer up Yuuka, it's not a big deal.

"Nothing you can do about it now. But what you can do is teach me about that invoice thing after you learn the the Machine God's spells."

"I see... but I'm also teaching you mathematics, as well as taking charge of your finances. And no, that's non negotiable with how impulsive your buying is."

Rin P.O.V

It's been a long day of dealing with irksome paperwork, but it's thankfully all done a little early than usual today just before sundown in late afternoon.

That means I finally have time to give Levi-kun his long awaited crash course schooling, as well as the basics of handling paper work and what not.

I mean, those requests and proposals I left for him to either approve or reject... I can make sense of permitting increased funding for Valkyrie, given that he first saw Kivotos in chaos.

But there were several papers containing the same requests for Valkyrie funding... he signed the most expensive one into approval... it would've given them just about 80% of the entire annual budget had I not torn that to shreds, reprinted, and then rejected it.

But most of the ones he signed into approval did make sense, I'll give him that.

I feel the edges of my lips stretching up to a smile as I imagine how much more efficient he would be in governing work or paperwork management once I give him the education he needs.

Those were my line of thoughts as I entered the Schale building, taking the stairs up to his office as I took out my phone to call him back here from Abydos hoping he was not currently busy.

Imagine my surprise when I saw Yuuka of Millenniums Seminar frolicking and giggling like a child as she... chased a swarm of blue winged moths around. I see Levi-Sensei sitting in front of his desk, holding a pen with some pieces of paper in the desk itself.

I... can understand why Miss Yuuka is acting like a preschooler... I mean, I kind of did the same thing when I first casted Moth Swarm.

For the past few days, it became frustratingly tempting to send my swarm of moths to harass persistent annoying obstacles into running away from me... it would've made the past days so much more peaceful.

"Levi-Sensei, Yuuka of Seminar." I called out to them in a formal tone, with Levi turning to look at me and Yuuka freezing in her tracks before she started blushing in embarrassment as the swarm of blue moths dissipated into nothingness.

I mean... I would've done so as well if I was seen acting like that. "This is convenient. Yuuka-san, it's time for Levi-Kun's crash course education." I said, adjusting my glasses and putting on a serious look.

"Crash course... education?" Yuuka asked in confusion. Did he... not tell her?

"Levi-Sensei told me he never had proper schooling, the orphanage he was in only ever engaging in abuse of children." I shuddered as I remember the things he revealed to me about that... absolute atrocity of a place is.

"That's... just horrible." She said with disdain that would naturally come with finding out about such things.

"I learned a lot of things from my time serving." Is that so, Levi-Kun? That's good to know, but knowledge necessary for paperwork and office matters are very specific here. It's what I'm teaching you specifically. "Yeah, I just need the know how of bureaucracy, right?" Didn't I tell you not to read my mind? But nevertheless, that's right.

Not having to speak feels somewhat more efficient when we have telepathy... but the thought of it in practice is making me cringe.

"Anyway... let's get started then." I said, moving to turn on the computers on his desk, and moving that mobile blackboard on the back.

/

He was... surprisingly eager, given how most would sometimes fall asleep when learning about both the basics and advanced of what we've just taught him.

He was brilliant to say the least. Particularly in measurements, it's one of the things we learned in the army, the army needed accurate reports and distances for calling artillery, airstrikes, and estimated times for when their enemy was coming is what he said.

Yuuka showed a distraught expression when she got to the part where letters of all things got mixed into the numbers. I don't need to learn how much weight or force I need to force a can open Levi said, but he did easily learn how to estimate an arrival time based on speed.

And yeah, I can understand why Levi looked annoyed with the latter of that, as well as when the english alphabet got mixed into the numbers. I mean... I was also annoyed with that when I was first thought about it. Yes, I was a model student but I honestly despised that part of math.

But moving on, Levi-Sensei was smart. He looked annoyed learning more complicated things about bureaucracy, but still persisted in learning it.

To show much interest in learning such tedious things... just how much did he miss or simply never had the chance to attain prior to being sent here?

Maybe I should move on to other more complicated subjects when we have time, like Chinese letters or numbers as the standard procedure for GSC paperwork and after action reports need.

"Rin, I wanted to ask about Kaiser Corporation." Levi spoke up with a serious expression, getting my full attention. What about them? Have they caused him trouble. "They're annexing Abydos land, as well as sending attacks against them." He said, rising his voice slightly with venom.

The first one about annexing their land. "The fault is with the past Abydos Student Council, no consequences will come to Kaiser Corporation for that." I said, digging up some more details from my memories. "But you can do something about the second one." There's at least that.

"You... don't see the problem with... just about everything they're doing in Abydos." It's nice that he's worried this much about Abydos, but there's already enough problems in Kivotos at the moment. "Kivotos is an empire." ... Where did that come from?

Yuuka herself is showing a most befuddled expression as I am most likely making. But I'm curious, what kind of argument will Levi-Sensei use to convince me in assisting Abydos.

"Kivotos is an empire with the GSC at its top, and the many academies are vassal states. That me-"

"What do you mean by that?! We can't stand on our own two feet without the General Student Council?!" Yuuka loudly interrupted him with a tone of indignation. And Levi-Sensei is simply giving her a deadpan look.

"Yeah, you along with Chinatsu and Hasumi came to Rin just so you can complain and have her do something about all the chaos in Kivotos." To Levi-Sensei's observation, Yuuka is unable to do anything but tremble as she can't come up with a rebuttal.

"Yes, that's right. The only thing they could do prior to your arrival was complain and complain." I've been wanting to just snap and talk down to all the representatives that came to complain like Levi-Sensei did... but I'm thankful that he's done it for me. "And where are you going with this fact?" I asked, ignoring the glare that Yuuka is giving me.

"You were lucky enough that Chinatsu, Yuuka, and Hasumi agreed... well kind of agreed to help." As he said that, Yuuka's expression turned to that of a smug smile. "But if Abydos falls with the way things are going, that sends a really bad message about the GSC as the ones in charge of Kivotos." I don't under... stand... oh... I finally get it.

"It tells the smaller academies that you won't do anything if they're attacked and harassed for the sole purpose of driving them away and having their territories invaded. You think they'll even think about sending their forces to help or even follow your rules like that?" I see... the GSC is responsible for all of Kivotos, but if none of the academies are listening to us and simply doing their own thing independent of the GSC-

"Kivotos devolves into feudalism."

"Even worse than the chaos we dealt with when the President disappeared."

Both Yuuka and I understood what he was saying. I knew Kaiser had their own motives given how Fox Squad of the former SRT academy found, destroyed, and exposed a supposed weapon of mass destruction they manufactured... or were progressing to manufacture. It's been a while that I've forgotten it's details.

Damn it, Kaiser offered services and products that were top quality when compared to most of everything else. It's gonna be a pain to effectively counter them now with how much they've grown.

"I'll think of something regarding Kaiser." I said with a sigh, expecting the near future to be tiring with a proverbial elephant in the room finally in my sights. "But first." It's about time Levi dealt with the Schale applications, applications that have been piling up ever since he left for Abydos.

"Oh yeah, I was also supposed to submit my application." Yuuka said in remembrance, directing her sight to the small but still thick pile of applications. "I got sidetracked by that moth spell." Yeah, I also lost a lot of rest time playing around with the moths and that red lightning.

"This much... I just have to sign the lot of it, right?" Levi asked with a tired tone, sitting back down and picking up a pen. Then taking the applications and one by one reading the names and other details such as which academy and school year each applicant is.

Oh right, I almost forgot. I walk towards the pile of papers and documents in the desk, taking out the one I left before he went off to Abydos.

"Could you fill this up, so I can finally make your record in the database, as well as other important identifications and paperwork." I said, setting the form down infront of Levi-kun.

"Sure, looks easy enough." And it is, it's much more shorter and less complicated than what Kivotos natives have to fill up.

Let's see, Name:Levi of Prehevil... Birthplace:Prehevil, Bohemia/Eastern Union... that's a weird way of writing that.

"Bohemia was annexed by Eastern Union at some point when I was too young to remember." He explained, still focused on the survey.

Birth date:05/21/1924... wait a minute!

"Levi-Sensei, the year is 2021!" Yuuka shouted out as she noticed what he wrote.

"Yes, either you're actually old enough to be our great grandfather, or your hometown used a different calendar." Whichever is true should be obvious enough... unless there's a spell for preserving youth... no, he doesn't act like most adults would.

"Is that so..." He trailed off, crossing out the year he wrote and rewriting in... 2003... wait, wait, wait!

"You're just 18?!" I couldn't help but shout out, widening my eyes at the discovery. I mean... he's barely even an adult, closer to us in age than I anticipated. "I thought you were at least in your twenties." I said as I regained my composure. He probably didn't even have time to get over his trauma... yet he's still functioning almost normally as a person.

He's strong.

"Yeah, even the adults back in the trenches reacted that way when they first saw me." He said with a smile, reminiscing about what he considers to be good memories.

"You always keep talking about trenches, mind explaining that?" Have Yuuka never read about history, specifically in 20th century warfare if he's actually from a similar time period? That's insensitive of her, but I won't deny my curiosity.

"What is there to explain?" He said, finally having finished the form and redirecting his attention to the pile of applications. "Just read a book about it, I heard "Storm Of Steel On The Rondon Front" was accurate about combat during the first war." He said, obviously not wanting to talk about it now that he's sober. And yes, I could tell you were drunk when you started talking about your disaster of a life.

I don't know if you read that line of thought. Also wait, there were more than one war? And Rondon? Don't you mean London?

"If you don't wanna talk about it, just say so." Said Yuuka with a sigh. "I'm going back to Millennium, to see the progress of your prosthetic." So she said, walking towards the exit.

"I need to leave as well, Levi-Sensei."

"Alright, and one last thing, Rin."

I halt my steps, turning to look at him and waiting for him to keep going.

"That girl named Kaya, do you trust her?" The Defense Chief? I want to trust her as a fellow administrator, but I really can't with how she acts suspicious like a cartoon villain.

Now that he mentioned her name... I did see her earlier looking scared, running to her private office in the GSC headquarters and then just slamming it shut and locking it.

... Don't tell me... that detective, Kanna was her name sent me an email earlier that I was planning on reading later.

The email title saying something about Kaya...

Taking my phone out of my pocket, I turn it on and start scrolling...

Hmm, there it is... He.. assaulted Kaya? He had her by the cheeks?

...

...

...

You know what, I'll pretend I didn't read that, and that he didn't ask me about Kaya. I turn around again, facing the exit and not even answering his question.

So these... are videogames? It took until midnight to go through signing all of those applications into Schale, finally this place gets occupied instead of feeling like it's haunted.

But yes, videogames. It's on television with a remote controller, there's many different kinds like fighting games, visual novels... I don't know why that's a thing, just make it into a book or something. There's strategy and tactic games, and then... goddamnit, my shell shock almost came back for a moment.

... Back in the medieval age, knights and those fighting alongside them faced absolute hell like the war I faced. And when my time came, they were turned into stories of fantasy and whatnot.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised when a more advanced place starts making stories and games based on the fighting and killing that many were both victims and perpetrators to in my time.

[Sensei, if you don't like it then there are many thousands more to choose!] Arona said, spawning a hologram showing her with a look of concern.

"Yeah, and besides. That kind of game will be hard to play one handed." Reila said, appearing as another hologram next to Arona.

[In multiplayer, it would be impossible to play properly] Multiplayer? You mean you can play along with other people? [Yes, even when they far away from eachother. That's the beauty of online multiplayer games, you can make long distance friends!] Arona said with a wide smile, throwing her hands up the air.

"Hmm, it's like the Logic project." Is that so, Reila? Olivia did say you were an expert on computers or something.

[But yeah, if that's what you want to play, then you should stick to single player first.] I'm more surprised that I can play a game by myself, how does that work? [Simply put, you're playing a story mode, with artificial enemies.] I'm not saying I get it, but I think I do.

"Wait, I just realized something." As Reila said that, I see something manifesting in a flicker. It looks like... a cable with a plug on each end, one already connected to the television, the other is infront of me. "There should be a hole in that adapted Yuuka put into your stump, stick it there." I do just that, taking off my buttoned shirt for easy access.

I stick the cables plug in... and I can kind of feel it. Can that headset thing Suzumi bought me also work here? Taking it out of my bag, I plug it in the TV and wrap the headset around my head... and there it is, it's like a music box or a whole ass film theatre in my ears.

Alright. Arona, how do I play?

Her directions were easy enough to follow. Single player, campaign, choosing a difficulty going from easy to veteran, and then a film with an artificial look starting.

Hmm, I'm playing the character of a Rondon recruit in training... this doesn't seem right.

[It's a tutorial for how to play the game, not for actual real life fighting.] ... Of course it is.

Moving on, the controls were easy enough to get used to. The plug on the adapter on my stump... I can feel it, it's like having a hand that I can see pressing somethings that prompted movement on the TV.

Movement like walking forwards, backwards, sideways, jumping, changing weapons or throwing a grenade, all that stuff. Looking and shooting depended on my right hand holding the right side of the controller as Arona called it.

More films of the story after the tutorial... wait a minute... Rondon is Great Britain... Bremen is Germany... Vinland... Vinland has three countries in it, what the hell? There's also more land below it with more countries! Bohemia is just a bunch of seperate smaller countries on the map it's showing, with where I'm from being called Czechoslovakia... the Eastern Union is Soviet Union, Eastern Sanctuary is Turkey... like the chicken? There's a country between Bremen and E.U called Poland... Why the hell is Edo invading Xuanyuan?!

[Is that so weird to you, Sensei?] Asked Arona with a concerned but curious tone.

"Not just to him, me too!" Reila said, leaning over me and closer to the TV screen with the map being shown. "Most of Vinland was uninhabitable until just a century ago, and the colonies weren't that large." She said, pointing to what was a supposedly cursed continent.

[Vinland? You mean the Americas?] This is... gonna be a long night.

That film segment finally ended, and now I'm in a plane... I heard the Rondoners were just using shitty planes and crash landing deep in Bremen lines instead of just jumping out and parachuting.

This is gonna be at least interesting watch.

/

That was a little fun and interesting finding more about the story, but it was mostly boring. The story was overall decent at least for my taste, but things like the actions the characters took, equipment and tactic they were using, were all completely retarded.

I fell asleep halfway through, waking up just during dawn judging by the light slowly replacing the dark, my forehead on the TV screen which was still on with a game over screen I saw a lot last night.

Hmm, I should take a bath before going back to Abydos.

"Why didn't we invite the Sensei here yesterday?!" Screamed out in an immature manner by my pink haired gorilla of a friend. "He already taught one of those Gehenners magic, what else will they be beating us to?!" She's impatient... as usual, but even more so as of recently.

Specially with what happened to Seia... why... who would have even though about that kind of attack?

"That's quite enough, Mika." I said, closing my eyes as I took a sip of my tea. "It would be improper if we invited him without proper preparation or accomodations." I said, taking more sips from my tea. From what the JTF Vice President reported after the retaking of the Sanctum Tower, he... the Sensei is one unbelievably unfortunate person.

Many lower class persons have been offended in the past and present during obscene shows of wealth, and the Sensei is not one I would want to upset... given what Seia have learned about him.

"Besides, we will be at peace with Gehenna soon enough. It would be a great development for yourself if you learned to cast your hatred aside."

At my words, Mika simply froze. I can see her trembling ever so slightly, no doubt in fury of what I suggested... but I know nothing will happen. Mika will contain herself, and will sit back down in a manner befitting of a woman her status.

And as usual, I'm correct in my prediction. She's still trembling with anger... but it's nice to know she can repress it.

"But Nagi-chan... what if Gehenna convinces him to join them in an attack?" It would be a tragedy, no doubt. But so far...

"Mika, I don't think he'll want any chaos or conflict anytime soon. Do you remember how he looked when he first appeared?"

"I... yeah, right..."

A/N: not me just going with what gets written when I make my fingers and imagination go on autopilot when writing: o-o

Also not me just doing that with my A/N: O-O

So yeah, hopefully I can finish up the Abydos arc soon. I kind of wanted to include Hinas bond story, but then I remembered this all happens not even 12 hours after she pulled on Ako's metaphorical leash... did I even use the word metaphorical right right there?

Also not me not having a reference for Gematria members personality to write... mostly just that photo guy golsjcksm and that headless guy(I can't remember how any of their names are spelled or what it was in the first place.) And Maestro... only reference I got for his dialogue is in eden treaty when we fight Hieronymus.

Also me hearing my mom get super angry at both something and someone and suddenly having a whole lot of reference on how to write Beatrice.
