Soldier Boy and Angel Girls
Miyako P.O.V
Finally being able to sleep with a roof, well technically a roof, over our heads after so long... was heavenly. I didn't have to worry about insects like flies and Gods forbid... cockroaches crawling anywhere up my body. Even worse, up my face... ugh.
The tree house... the inside looked much more sleek than natural, like it was processed wood instead of newly cut timber. That made it easier to transport and store our supplies and equipment, the way up was kind of a pain but it wasn't too bad.
From the outside, the windows weren't visible at all. Well, at least it wouldn't be unless any intruder after us got really close. It's a perfect spot for sniping, perfect for Miyu, and the tree blending in with the surrounding environment and other trees... it won't get any kind of attention from civilians.
The four rooms are connected, with paths for easy mobility to each should it be needed. The way the windows are positioned offers an almost perfect 360 view around the tree house, which is now our new headquarters.
Hmm, it's a little hot here. I guess I should make my way down for fresh air then. Walking the direction of the exit down and carefully setting my feet down the ladder steps, I thought about adding a door, trapdoor? Or something to cover up the entrance to our headquarters.
Turning around as my feet hit the ground, I see Saki performing cleaning and maintenance on a mortar piece and Miyu doing the same with her rifle. The empty boxes of eaten bentos inside a plastic bag for later disposal sitting idly by the campfire.
Those bentos were delicious, but it's not gonna last us long unless we get regular deliveries from Sensei or... somehow our student accounts were unlocked.
Speaking of which, where's Moe gone to this time? Don't tell me she sold some of our equipment again?! I mean, if it's for a good cause like that one Abydos student reasoned when she bought the remote weapons systems back then, I wouldn't object but there's way more shady people wanting to get their hands on high quality SRT stockpiles.
Huh?
Speak of the Devil, Moe's walking towards us through the main path. The ditch from the mine Sensei stepped on is still there, we should fill that up later. Moe's carrying... a full bag of groceries in both hands?!
"Hey, I got some fresh supplies! And before you ask, our student accounts are now accessible... sort of." Moe announced to us with a smile, bringing one of the bags up for us to see.
"That's great and all, but what do you mean by sort of?" Saki asked, surprise still present in her eyes as she stared at the fresh provisions.
"It only allowed me to buy food, water, and small arms munitions." She grumbles even if what she's saying is a good thing. "I wasn't even allowed to withdraw that much, and I can't even buy for big boom babies!" I see...
"That's still great... Sensei did what he could." Miyu said, her expression that of a rare absolute joy.
Yeah, at least he didn't forget about us like last time. I am not exactly in peace knowing that our purchasing power isn't fully back, but we'll have to work with what we have.
The only thing that was probably in his mind was us not starving when talking to the Acting President. That's the kind of mindset that's fairly obvious from how he talked in our last meeting.
Hmm, is there anything I should bring up the next time he's here? Maybe I could... ask about somethings like tactics and stuff.

Himari P.O.V
It appeared just now, one of the mysteries we were looking for a while now. Here in the Super Phenomenon Task Force clubroom, I'm tapping away as fast as I could, commanding the computers to show any audio or visual records of where it took place, to record the signal from the sudden spike of activities and to show a graph of it, to see if at all it is possible to trace said signal, just about everything I could do at the moment.
That adorable junior of mine, Momoi from the Game Development Department was asking about the ruins, where the signal came from. Don't tell me she went there by herself!
If that was the case, then it would be bad!
"Himari..." I turn to Eimi, the short pink haired, skimpily dressed and busty junior with me called out. "The Gun Mage Sensei..." I heard that Yuuka called him here to Millennium earlier, something about gifting him a new prosthetic. That's great and all, a perfect gift for someone so unfortunate.
"Yes, what about him, Eimi?" I ask while turning my gaze back at the monitor as I'm still typing away.
"11:37 AM, he was with the twin students from GDD. 12:20 they were caught on CCTV... going towards the ruins general direction." I stop my typing, even freezing up at her words. "1:30 they were back with... another girl in tow... as well as another haloless woman who just up and disappeared mid footage." I then gripped the armrests of my chair and swung as hard as I could, making sure to propell myself upwards slightly to make the chair face her direction.
Eimi is staring at a footage of the Sensei, the twins Momoi and... Midori I think I remember Momoi mentioning. And then there's the girl with long dark bluish hair dragging through the ground and a cyan halo consisting of squares overlapping eachother, and lastly... a haloless woman with short brown hair in a pink long sleeve and long skirt. Just as Eimi said.
Then as the recording played, said haloless woman in pink simply... flickered out of the footage, like a distortion in an old film.
"Could the woman be... a visual distortion of some sort?" I ask, looking on in a mix of caution and curiosity at the haloless woman.
"No, they're all reacting to her. Looking, speaking to and all that, Himari." I see... then Kivotos has another haloless person as a resident. "I also sent a drone to look at the ruins and... yeah." Eimi said, opening the footage from said drone showing... the ruins at an even worse shape than before.
There's a giant crater, the glass from almost all the buildings, at least in this street, are all shattered. And most alarming is... the mass of destroyed robots, combat robots that is... and is that a puddle of blood?!
"Huh?" Eimi seems to have seen the blood puddle herself. She then enlarged the window showing the recording of the Sensei and the GDD twins, slowing down the footage and zooming in.
Sensei's clothes show scratches and tears, and the marks on his face... ugh, I cringe as I got a closer look of it seeing the cuts sinking down his face. But more importantly, are the blood stains on his right arm sleeve, some on his clothes, and... there looks to be dried blood from his nose and eyelids.
What the heck happened in the ruins? Was he hurt?
"Eimi, let's set that matter aside for now. Focus on retrieving any salvageable data from the unknown entity."
"Sure."
And so, she went back to typing and looking at data charts, visual recordings and whatever else as I readjusted my wheelchair to face towards my own computer so I could type away again.
Levi of Prehevil, Sensei appointed by the GSC President, just where did she find him? He proved that magic, and by extension, the supernatural existed. I was back to being a squeeky middle schooler when I first saw footage of him using magic, because... it's magic! How are people supposed to react to that?!
The Super Phenomenon Task Force Clubs founding objective is solely to investigate what science is unable to explain, so that's a perfect new discover to be fixated on.
And then a week after his first appearance, an apparent God of Machines, it's first followers consisting of former Kaiser PMC employees said it's name was Logic, showed itself... need I say more?
Sounds like the Absolute Being Autonomous Analysis System was never needed in the first place. Considering the fact that an actual God, if this Logic is the real deal, ended up just revealing itself to Kivotos.
Oh dear, now that I think about it, Rio has already been paranoid enough with the Nameless Gods and the technology their followers left. She must've had... quite the reaction upon finding out about the new God Logic. I mean... those former Kaiser employees said they incurred it's wrath, but what if it was naturally malicious? Like that A.I in "I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream."
That's probably Rio's actual thoughts on the matter.
"Himari... I managed to salvage an audio recording fitting the time they went in the ruins."
"Really?! That's great, play it then!" I'm surprised that she beat me, a beautiful and delicate genius hacker, to finding that.
I hastily adjusted my wheelchair to turn around to Eimi, and then pressing the accelerate button to go closer to her.
Wait a minute, couldn't I just have used my wheels to turn around? I wouldn't have had to physically exhaust turning ot around manually.
Anyways, I got close enough to Eimi just as she played the recording, or at least what remains of it.
At first, it's simply audio distortions that sounds like metal scraping porcelain, but slowly it's definitely go-
[Fuck you! Insignificant... mean nothing... kill yourselves...]
... What... in the world? This... this most likely came from whatever we were searching for.
Eimi looks on frozen, probably in utter disbelief and befuddlement hearing those words, just like I am.
[My Prophets... loyal followers... crush you...]
... That's it, that's what Eimi managed to salvage from whatever black box she somehow got access to that's also somehow still functioning.
Sigh, this is going to be... a lot of work.

Levi P.O.V
I've finally arrived here, Red Winter Academy. True to the name, it looks like a permanent winter with how much snow there is. Ugh, I shiver as I wrapped the left sleeve of my shirt on my right arm for more cover from the cold.
I thought the winter in this academy's name was just for show, apparently not.
The past memories of snow, of an ordinary life in a village, with family neighbors and friends all resonate within my mind and heart. Feeling a skip in my heart beat, I stand still as all of those past peaceful memories, along with the feelings they hold engulf me entirely.
All the borscht my mother cooked, the friends I played and caused a ruckus with...
This isn't my memories, much less my nostalgia. Get out of my head, Lieutenant Pav... not that you can, but still, stop that.
That aside, the buildings I can see looks exactly like that of that one Eastern Union capital city I was sent to during a retreat and rearmament. It looks needlessly, overly grand like it's meant to be for cameras. at least how it's all designed.
What's with that huge bronze statue? It's a statue of... I think a petite girl. That's... probably the Red Winter leader or something.
On the path towards what I'm assuming is Red Winters state building, I see a woman in a fluffy white coat with an equally fluffy looking Voroniyan fur hat.
She has long, bright light purple hair tied into a double braid reaching as far down as her knee. On her right hand is a wooden rifle with a scope, on the other is a... ugh, that's a political book, isn't it... the same one political commisars held.
Our eyes meet, and she lets out a small gasp of surprise before giving me a welcoming smile. And I brought my hand up as a greeting, unwrapping the left sleeve around it exposing it once again to a near unbearable cold.
Oh goddamnit.
[Pyromancy Trick]
Feeling a slight tickling in my mind as the small ball of flame manifested above my hand, I then brought it down close to my chest and felt a little warmer.
"Comrade Sensei... as expected, your magic is wondrous as I have heard." The long purple haired girl said, admiring the otherworldly ball of flame in my hand just as those engineer girls at Millennium did. "But on to more important matters, Red Winter Academy welcomes you, Comrade Sensei!" She proudly announced to me, her arms unraveling and stretching up as she gestured towards the entire school.
Comrades... every Voroniyan I've heard speak or met calls everyone a comrade with the only exception being Lieu- Pav, just Pav from now on. I won't feed his ego considering the fact that I beat- well, not beat exactly, but he's under me now ranks be damned.
"My name is Sashiro Tomoe, President Cherino has been patiently awaiting your arrival." She, Tomoe politely introduced herself with a small bow. Her halo, a large pink gear shape with a smaller one inside it. "For someone as illustrious as you are, Comrade Sensei, you need not introduce yourself." Alright, I guess I won't.
"More importantly, I will lead you to President Cherino, who we should not keep waiting any longer." She said, then she turned around motioning for me to follow as she walked along.
And so, I followed her as she lead me. Through the entrance, and then through the hallways decorated in red carpets, red curtains, almost everything is red. I had the Pyromancy Trick dissipate as it's surprisingly warm here.
"As an outsider to Kivotos, your first must have been... an unusual experience." Tomoe started, turning for a moment to give me a look with a smile. "Red Winter itself is unique in Kivotos, so no need to be ashamed if you feel overwhelmed." That's fine, this place... actually gives off a lot of vibes that's... a little too similar to Eastern Union.
"Is that so? I see, then you will appreciate what we have to offer. Puddings, kompot, and warm borscht." Tomoe said in a wholehearted tone, her smile never disappearing as she turned her head again to look at where she's walking. "However, ugh... we are not having kompot any time soon after that incident with with Mayoi Shigure." She said with an audible cringing and groan.
"Why? What happened?" I ask as we went up the stairs to the higher floors, each step my feet takes has my legs lifting me up.
"I do not wish to tarnish our great academy's name. However, if you truly wish to know, she laced the kompots with vodka during the last festives." Really?! You have vodka?! If you girls don't like those one bit, then I'll take all of it off of your hands! "Uhm... Comrade Sensei, as an adult, are you not supposed to dissuade alcohol use?" Kids aren't allowed to have booze, that should be natural.
"But I'm already 18, old enough to drink. And besides, it's been days since my last bottle."
"Goodness! You are only 18?! I see, it must be difficult having lost a limb that young." Tomoe said as she gasped turning to look at me with pity. "I suppose that could explain why you would desire alcohol so much." She said with a sigh of sympathy, then turning to her way once again to resume walking.
"That aside, I must tell you about our most esteemed President Cherino. Beautifier of lands, scriber of minutes, athletics club captain, chief of sanitation, head of all prefects, maven of meal services."
That's a lot of titles... and the theme of this place being the E.U with a small hint of Voroniyan before and after their revolution...
"Yeah, tyrants tend to give themselves positions and tyrants that sound important. Ya know, to inflate their fragile egos. But these one sounds like a child came up with it. "
You have to start doing that thing Arona does, showing up in a small hologram at my peripheral vision when talking, Reila. It wouldn't feel as weird, and I wouldn't have almost gotten startled just now.
"But I've been doing this for... basically the entire time now. Why'd you get surprised only now? "
Fair point, but still, give me a way to know when you're gonna start talking.
"Comrade Sensei, did you say something?" No, just reciting my schedule to myself, Tomoe. "Well, you are a busy man after all."
And with that, she finally starts talking about her president Cherino. About how... adorable she is? And then a lot of other things that I really don't need to know.
"Oh, we're finally here. Make yourself at home, Comrade Sensei." Tomoe told me as she stopped to face a door, then smiling as she opened it and welcomed herself and I in.
Hmm, this place... it looks like the E.U premiers office, going by how ot looked in newspaper photos that I saw every once in a while. Cross referencing the room I'm looking in to what I remember looking at, it looks... a little too simi-
I stop my thoughts, seeing a masculine, overly detailed oil painting nailed to the wall on the right side of the room.
... That's not what this Cherino girl actually looks like, right? That's... that's the exact goddamn mustache the E.U premier had!
"Are you referring to that painting? Well, you are correct Comrade Sensei, but that is-"
"Because it's a projection of what I'll look like a year from now!" Interrupted, and then followed up on by a young girlish and boisterous voice. I think it's the same high pitch as Ibuki. She's standing on a table... almost looking at me eye to eye, but she's still small enough that I'm looking slightly down on her.
I turn to look at the source of the voice, and I see a tiny girl, I think she's the same size as Ibuki, with a white fluffy winter uniform, white hair, with a white hat displaying the Red Winter sigil. A gear with it's inner side all red, and a roaring bear. Her halo is a gear like Tomoe's, but ice blue with a peg on the left and right side. And that obviously fake mustache...
"So their great leader really was a kid... "
"Behold Comrade Sensei, Red Winters most greatest president! Beautifier of lands, scriber of minutes, athletics club captain, head of all prefects, maven of meal services!" Tomoe... sure looks and sounds ecstatic for the little girl.
"Who are you calling little?! Like Tomoe just said, I'm Renkawa Cherino! The great leader of Red Winter! Beautifier of lands, scriber of... Tomoe, what was the rest?" Cherino sounded more cute than terrifying when she lashes out... even more so when she forgot half of her titles and turned to Tomoe for help. "I see... that's right, whatever Tomoe just said!" I'm assuming she just whispered the titles to her.
"Well, with that out of the way. President Cherino, may I introduce to you, Levi of Prehevil, Sensei of Schale."
"Of course, well done Comrade Tomoe. As a true and loyal compatriot, you shall be bestowed a medal of recognition." That usually doesn't mean much, but Tomoe sure looks happy hearing that.
"Back in Bremen, the state was just doing random posthumous awardings for soldiers who passed in the war... "
Huh? Funny, the E.U was doing the same! But why do you feel the need to me-
"You are too kind. O great leader." Tomoe actually looks and sounds happy with Cherino's words... is she a- no, she's not pretending...
"I don't know if that's better or worse than actual yes-men. "
To me, they look like sisters with Tomoe being the doting elder one.
"Oh, Comrade Sensei... I couldn't be the presidents onee-san."
"Yeah, what she said! But... Tomoe does exert the aura of an onee-san, I will admit." Cherino yelled out, then whispered aloud with a face of admission.
"Y-you really mean it, g-great leader?!" Tomoe looks... delighted, yet embarrassed. But overall, she looks happy to have heard those words from Cherino, a soft smile and a slight blush appearing in her face.
"Yes, yes! But more importantly, welcome to the great Red Winter Academy, Comrade Levi-Sensei!" Cherino declared with absolute confidence, chest out and her hands on her hips. "You stand before the most illustrious Cherino! You've already heard of my titles, so you should already know how important I am!" I simply smile and nod.
This being Kivotos, I immediately discarded the thought that Cherino was some sort of puppet with the real leader of Red Winter hiding in the shadows. But again... this is Kivotos.
"Then consider yourself honoured to be facing me!" You know what? I snap my body into attention, just like the many times I've done before in the army and gave Cherino the snappiest salute I could muster. With so much similarities to E.U, this is pro-
"Oh Comrade Sensei... I didn't know you were actually one of us in the first place!" Cherino gasped then stated aloud with wonder in her tone, with her eyes glimmering as she stared at me still in a salute. "At ease, Sensei." She said followed with a sloppy salute, to which I still brought my hand down the same time hers did.
"Well, Comrade Sensei did state earlier that our great academy resembled this "E.U" place where he came from, but I am surprised to know that you are a soldier." Tomoe said, showing an expression that almost states that she was only slightly surprised. Well, it's not that hard to connect the dots given that I was still on uniform back in my first day here.
"That's too much of a coincidence, this must be fate!" Cherino being a kid, I can understand why she's so excited to find out about that. "It's the exact same salute Red Winter's had for generations. Actually, that salute has been in place even before the revolutions, right?!" She's so excited that she just started doing some kind of step dance on the table she's standing on.
"Correct, President Cherino! That salute predates even the Imperial Winter." Tomoe said with a tone of calm pride. Huh, that's interesting.
"This must be a sign! A sign saying Comrade Sensei is always on our side! A sign saying we sho- eh?" She got a little too excited, tripping and falling from the table down to the floor on her front.
"Great leader?!" Tomoe shouted out in worry, rushing over and kneeling to pick up Cherino. Huh? Her fake mustache fell off.
"Owwiiie..." Cherino groaned out, dusting her clothes off with her hands. "For the love of 'staches, Tomoe! How many times will I have to ask you to straighten out the carpet?! Do you wa-"
"Cute!" I blurted out, staring at her plushy puffy cheeks. Imagine how soft it would be if I squished her face... so cute! I can see why Tomoe is so loyal to you.
"Eh? Huh?..."
"But Comrade Sensei, the great leaders absolute authority lies within her mustache." What the hell is that...? No, I won't even ask.
"T-Tomoe, my mustache!"
"Right, president."
I saw a small blush appearing in Cherino's plushy cheeks as she turned around, with Tomoe, having picked up the fake mustache, sticking it back to Cherino's face.
"Not a word, Comrade Sensei. And Tomoe, you saw nothing."
"Of course, great leader."
"So... what's the Ivan Kupala about? And why do you want my help specifically with the preparations?" I started, railing the topic of discussion to the very reason why I even came here. Actually, that's just half. The second half is because of Pav.
"Pav? Who's that?" Not important. "Right, then first of all: summer solstice is coming. Ivan Kupala is about celebrating when the snow melts and the greenery is lush!" I see, with winters being harsh harvest festivals were common all across Europa.
"Harvest festival? Well, I suppose the Ivan Kupala is akin to that." Tomoe said with a small cheerful smile of understanding.
"Yes, with Ivan Kupala being unique to Red Winter, we take great pride in making it a most joyous event!" Cherino said, a wide proud smile forming in her lips as she adjusted her mustache slightly. "That's why the secretariat is mobilizing all students for the best Ivan Kupala in history!"
"Indeed, president Cherino's recent reforms have increased productivity 250 percent just last week." Tomoe said, a proud smile just like Cherino's forming in her lips. And how was that achieved? "Double shifts were put in order, with exemplary workers being publicly recognized." Uhm... I'm no economist, but I'm fairly certain things aren't that simple.
"You're right, double shifts usually mean double, or even triple the resources being used in production. "
"... That's good, right? Well, excellent! This years Ivan Kupala will be absolutely perfect!" Should we tell her, Reila?
"No, maybe they have this figured out. E.U had pretty similar shitty policies even before the Voroniyan revolution that formed the E.U in the first place. But Kivotos being as it is, maybe they made those same policies work. "
Right, whatever you say. Wait a minute. "Summer solstice is still a month away, isn't it?" I ask, assume this place was using the same calendar as back home.
"Of course I know! Do you think me a fool?!" Cherino shouted at me with an indignant pout, and a... glare that's more cute than intimidating. "Besides, the reason I called you here is for your position at Schale." Hmm, saying that... she at least knows better than the average child. Not that I would know.
"As the Sensei of Schale, you interact with a lot of different academies, as well as their many students frequently, correct?" Yes, and? "So, to spread the glory of our great academy, we must first... buy you off?" She said with uncertainty both in her tone and expression.
"Or was it sell you off?"
What was I expecting? She's still a kid. Hmm, looks like Tomoe has to whisper the correct term to her ears.
"Yes! Win you over! We must first accomplish that if I wish to spread the greatness of Red Winter!"
"Well then, Sensei. Follow me, so you can experience the splendor of Red Winter!"
/
"This is the food service area responsible for feeding out proud Red Winter Academy students!" Cherino proudly proclaimed, waving her arms and gesturing towards the entire cafeteria we're in.
"Impressive. An army marches on their stomachs after all, I can see the students working hard." I said as I looked around, the girls at the food counter stiffened at my words, followed by a smile as they went back to their jobs.
"Precisely! Meals shouldn't be tied to status, so all the students here receive the same amount of food!" I agree with the first part, the second... does that mean everyone is well fed? "Of course! Comrade Sensei, you're such a caring person, worrying first and foremost about the well being of students!" I guess I am.
"That aside, as the scribe of minutes, beautifier of lands, and... uhm... the rest. I, Cherino the great, responsible for all things great, have the privilege of having an additional pudding." Well, you're the great leader after all.
"A little too early to be preparing for summer solstice, aren't they?" I ask, staring at the many Red Winter students working around, carrying supplies and provisions around. "What are they preparing for exactly?"
"Good question, Sensei." Cherino said, a hand in her chin as if in thought. She then walked towards the food counter, startling the girl in station there. "Chief, what's that you have in your pot?"
"Madame President! As your greatness has ordered, we are making pudding for the Ivan Kupala festival!" The girl said in... fear? Yeah, sounds like it. "We're doubling this years pudding supply, so each and every single member of the School Lunch Club is working around the clock!" Doubling the production... doubling the resources used...
"Uhm... yeah, as you said, Sensei." She mouthed to my direction. Looks like Cherino doesn't know lip reading, well... neither did I... probably one of Miss Karin's skills.
"Excellent! That's the attitude I wish to see from proud Red Winter students!" Cherino said, in an almost exaggerated expression and tone of joy. Oh Gods, it's like those propaganda experts, but at least Cherino means it. "After the festival, I will personally award you a gold first class mustache award." Fucking what now?
"Thank you, Madame President!"
"Now, may I have a taste for myself?" Such a simple request, yet the girl she's asking looks scared. She looked on in uncertainty as Cherino took the scooper from the pot, then up to mer mouth. "Eh? Why is it so bland?! The consistency is so loose!" Double production, double the ingredients used, Cherino.
"Y-yes, Madame President. As Sensei stated. We couldn't get anymore ingredients..." The girl said, turning her head, to avoid eye contact with Cherino who has an angry pout. "We had to use w-water when we ran out of milk..."
"You watered down the pudding?" Insolent..." Cherino muttered, shaking from rage, her teeth grinding. "Even for productivity's sake, that is unacceptable!" She shouted at the counter girl, making her wince and cower away.
But Cherino, you're the one who ordered them to double the pudding being made. This is an oversight in your part. "Even so, they should've made plans for it!" There's really no talking sense to little spoiled brats, I see.
"Get these insolent School Lunch Club out of here! Those who water down desserts deserve demerits!" Seriously, if she keeps acting like this as she grows up, it wouldn't be- "Marina! Come!" Huh?
Cherino... she knows who Marina is? How? She shouldn't be here, not in Kivotos... she wouldn't have any way to get here.
"Oh, Comrade Sensei, you've already met Comrade Marina?"
"Uhm... President Cherino, I have yet to personally meet Comrade Sensei." Said the short haired blonde girl in a white uniform with red trims, she's looking at me with worry and confusion.
You... you're not Marina... Marina had long grey hair, and she certainly didn't have tits that big!
"E-excuse me?!"
You must be a doppelganger! Like that one of myself in the sewers! Must've been a lousy one to copy the wrong person!
"Sensei... are you alright?"
Even then, Marina wouldn't be walking... the damn clown tore her face off... and I sawed her head off to sell to that filthy perverted cat man!
Pulling out my Lugr, I pointed it at the false Marina, my arm shaking and my heart beating rapidly. I can feel myself taking heavy breaths, as if I'm out of it.
"Comrade Sensei... I am not this person you think of. Perhaps we simply have the same names?" Funny, I just met someone with the same name to another dead person. A second one is too much of a coincidence.
"Sensei! Sensei!" I hear Cherino shouting out my title, I see her jumping in my peripheral vision, eventually clinging to my arm and bringing it down with her weight. "This other Marina must've been a great friend of yours, she wouldn't want you acting like this now, would she?!" I barely heard her over my pulse beating, head throbbing, and my hitching breaths.
[Bury The Trauma]
Dammit... she's right. I dropped down on my ass to the floor, slowly putting my Lugr back in its holster. I'm still in the middle of stabilizing my breaths with Cherino patting me on the back.
I see a shadow of a person coming closer, and I look up seeing the white and red uniform, the E.U designed submachinegun with a drum magazine, and finally the blonde girls face full of worry and pity.
"That other Marina... what a terrible fate she must've suffered." She said in a somber tone, reaching down a hand for me. "I am Ikekura Marina, to avoid confusions with similar names." She, Marina, introduced herself politely with a small smile.
With a little reluctance, I took her hand, pulling myself up the same time she did. "I'm Levi... just Levi." I introduced myself back with a sob. I didn't even notice the tears leaking down, some even sinking into the cuts as I wiped it off.
"More importantly, you... of the School Lunch Club, right?" I said, pointing to the girl Cherino was hounding, trembling as I addressed her directly. "Get me a pot of water." I demanded, to which she simply looked on in confusion.
"Do you want to be thrown behind bars for pissing off Cherino or not?! Get me a pot of water, now!" Jumping in fright as I raised my voice, she and her peers rushed to what assume it the kitchen, then slowly and carefully coming out with a huge pot full of water.
"Here, Comrade Sensei." She said, setting the pot down. "How will this... save us?" I don't respond as I walked towards the pot of water.
"Just as Alll-Mer turned water to wine, I shall turn this pot of water into milk."
"Huh? Rea-"
[Simple Transmutation]
With a touch of my finger, the pot of water slowly turned white. The girls of Red Winters lunch club, not to be confused with Juri and Fuuka from Gehenna, all looked on in astonishment and disbelief. I think I also heard a gasp from Cherino and... Marina.
"Wait, wait, wait! When did you learn this secret spell?! "
I picked up a random scroll back in the church. Then I looked at it, got a massive headache, and then it disintegrated into nothing. I never thought I would actually use this spell like... ever.
I see one of the girls taking a scoop of the magical milk, and bringing it up to her mouth for a taste.
"It's really milk... and of much higher quality than what we usually have!" And so, all of her peers started singing their gratitude to me. Absolute joy in their faces, probably because they escaped Cherino's wrath.
"Even then, they will still receive punishment for attempting to sabotage the presidents grand plans." This Marina said with absolute certainty.
"Yeah, they don't have enough respect for the authority of my mustache if they need you to save them, Comrade Sensei." Cherino calmly declared, to which the lunch club girls all looked on in despair.
"Cherino... it's the time for festives, right?"
"Yes, Comrade Sensei."
[Persuasion]
"Then it's times like this that you have to show mercy. It's times like these where your more benevolent side as a great leader must show." I told her with my hand where my heart should be to emphasize the benevolence part.
"Those with demerits deserve the terrible punishments, but... Comrade Sensei, you're right! The Ivan Kupala festivals joys must be experienced by all! Rejoice, School Lunch Club! You're all forgiven for your insolence!"
"Aah, thank you, great leader!"
"Your kindness knows no bounds!"
And so on and so forth with all of their heartfelt gratitude. Ugh, just when I thought I was finally out of the Eastern Union.
"Sensei... you didn't really mean it earlier when you said you... sawed off someone's head and sold it, right?" Marina whispered to my ear, a question that I have no intention of ever answering.
...
"I see, such a terrible thing to be forced to... I will not pry any further if it still haunts you." Thanks... Marina.
After that, Cherino then gave me another tour of... basically their own propaganda department seperate from Kronos because... Kronos is not factual, engaging in something called yellow journalism.
Red bear editing department is better than Kronos, she said. Kronos is all gossip and falsehoods, she said. And a lot of other things that I didn't bother keeping up with.
Ugh, I mentally broke down like... three times just today.
Cherino threw another tantrum as she was too small to be seen in the pictures in the newspapers they were about to release, and she had Marina them thrown behind bars. Demerits, she said.
After that, she had Tomoe prepare her bed for sleeping. Tomoe had me follow her on the way to Cherino's bedroom, which is apparently just her office.
/
And so, here I am. Looking out the window as I can't fall asleep. I can't smoke here as Cherino would get a whiff of the smoke from it.
Say, Reila. What was it with Red Winter that you didn't like so much? I mean, sure it's a bit chaotic but so far it's alright.
"Remember those girls that Kaiser Director guy fired? "
Yeah, what about them?
"Apparently, those other girls with my followers... they said some of them will be here. "
Right, were they hired to cause chaos? Or perhaps, they're here just to loot for supplies?
"No, nothing like that. They're- "
She stopped talking as I, and no doubt her, heard a cacophony of loud voices from outside.
"What's with all that ruckus?! I can't continue my sleep like this!" Cherino said loudly, throwing off her blankets as she stood up from her bed.
And then Tomoe rushed through the door, slamming it close the moment she was inside. "Terrible news, Cherino!" Cherino looked at Tomoe with a pout and glare, she was about to throw another fit until- "A group of armed students are storming the Secretariat." Tomoe said, sounding only slightly in alert.
"Oh? Is that all? Then have Marina deal with them."
Reila, was this it?
"Yeah, but I'm not seeing any one of those girls in camouflaged uniform. "
For now at least.
"That's the thing... Marina's leading them, President Cherino." How the fuck did that happen?
"Weekly coups... Kyoko, one of the girls with Mikhail, leader of my followers, said that Red Winter had weekly coups... "
... Seriously, how the fuck do they manage that? And how the fuck are they still standing as an academy?!
"W-what?! How is that possible?" Cherino said in a disheartened tone, dropping to her knees with a fearful look on her face. "But why?! I didn't do anything to her!" Maybe she thinks that she would be a better leader than you?
"No! Marina isn't ambitious like that! ... Well, at least I think she isn't." Sigh. Alright, how do we go about dealing with this mess? "Maybe it's because... I ate the pudding she was saving? Perhaps it's because I drooled on her favorite teddy bear when I was napping?" Marina's a little too mature to be caring about such things... at least she appeared as so to me.
"Yes, as Comrade Sensei said, Chairman Marina focuses more on her duties." Tomoe said, kneeling lower to pick up Cherino. "Whatever reason Chairman Marina had, we must flee for now."
"And Sensei. Given the risks, I suggest that you come with us for now." Yeah, sure.
"Wait! Maybe I can still reason with Marina!" Just as Cherino said that, girls in marching uniforms bursted through the door, pointing LMG's at us.
"Behold, President Cherino! A revolution has begun!" One of them proudly declared.
"Tomoe, keep one hand on Cherino, then give me your other." I said, walking towards her as she reached out a hand to me.
"Freeze! Not another mo-"
[Phase Step]
And just like that, we were out of the room. Now we were... just outside in the building entrance. Ugh, it's cold.
"Magic... truly is amazing. Sensei! There's an old unused school building in the outskirts!" Say no more, Tomoe!
"Huh? Wait, I'm still dizz-"
[Phase Step]
"Aaagh, hueh, hah!" Paying no mind to Cherino being absolutely discombobulated, I kept phasing towards the direction Tomoe is pointing me.
/
In a forest with snow built up on the trees, I struggled slightly as I walked with Cherino riding atop my back handling my hair like a saddle. Her legs on my shoulders.
"Whoa! It's so high up here!" She said with absolute glee, bits of a giggle coming out as she straightened her back to get a better look ahead. "Once I'm back in power, I will have someone carrying me on their backs everytime! That way, I'll always be visible in photos!" Stop moving, you'll fall!
"I'm not that heavy, Sensei! You should be able to handle my lightweight!" That's true, easily even. But it's really hard to keep you in balance literally one handed! "Oh right, sorry." Finally, some balance.
"Wow, you're like a cavalryman on a horse! So cute- err, I mean dignified and elegant!" Tomoe said, seemingly always being cheerful just like Nonomi. I need to get a haircut once I'm done here.
"Hehehe, you really think so?" Cherino replied to Tomoe, almost sounding shy.
"Yes! Should I take a photo to commemorate this moment?"
"Do so! I won't be hidden from photos when I'm this high!" Sighing out tiredly, I decided to play along. It's for a kid after all.
Tomoe then walks slowly infront of us, keeping that camera of hers pointed as Cherino steadied herself. And then, Tomoe pressed a button on the camera making a brief flash.
She looks at the camera for a moment, and then letting out a delighted expression as she approached us. "Look at this, you're so tall sitting on Sensei's back, president Cherino!"
"Wow... no one will ever be looking down on me like this." As long as she's happy, I guess.
And so, we kept on walking with Cherino staying on my back. Surprisingly, I'm doing better than expected. I'm not feeling tired or fatigued like I usually would carrying stuff.
Is it because I'm finally not a scrawny malnourished piece of meat? Well, the food I've been eating here was all delicious and plentiful after all.
An hour into walking with the forest trees and snowy environment seemingly not changing no matter how far we walked. Thankfully, all the walking is warming me up, so I'm not feeling too cold.
Eventually, in the distance, I see a huge building in disrepair getting bigger as we got closer to it and then we finally had shelter from the elements. I mean, it doesn't look too bad for a shelter... by post Termina-Sulfur-Invasion Prehevil standards that is.
"We've arrived. President, Sensei, welcome to the former institute." Tomoe said, looking around the place herself. "Although long abandoned, it was once a glorious place where Red Winter students lived out their youth and studied hard." That so?
"Now it's just a dirty old ruins... ugh, feels creepy too. A bear's probably gonna appear later." As a kid, I won't blame Cherino for being scared of such things.
"Well, with Chairwomen Marina on our tails, we will have no choice but to stay the night here."
"But Tomoe-!"
"Come on, Cherino. This isn't too bad of a place." By my standards at least.
"But... but I'm supposed to be the president! I shouldn't have to spend the night in a dump like this!" And you're right, we'll get you your throne back after we get some rest. "... Right. Then this building will be mission command, and we will use it to reclaim the Secretariat!" Well, at least she's not acting gloomy anymore.
"And who gave you permission to use our building as you like?!" Someone from the shadows shouted in an offended tone.
Cherino cowers away, hiding behind Tomoe and I as we braced for whoever was coming with footsteps coming closer.
"Is it a bear?!" Cherino asked in fear, peaking out from behind us. Seriously, what's with her and bears?
"Bears?! Where?!" Followed up by another voice as scared as Cherino's was coming from the shadows as a small figure emerged.
It's a girl as small as Cherino, with long blonde hair that's braided just at the end. Wearing a black and grey uniform and jacket, as well as a hat of the same color with the Red Winter sigil. She has something on her back... that's a huge ass telescope. Her halo is red and just like everyone elses here, it's in a gear shape.
Hmm, there's another taller girl beside her.
"There are no bears here, Nodoka. President Cherino's panic made her imagine things." Said the short light blue haired girl in a call voice. She has... I think raccoon ears and a tail.
She's also wearing a uniform with the same color scheme ass Nodoka's, if I heard the smaller girls name earlier. Ugh... that's a commisars uniform. And as usual here, her halo is blue and gear shaped.
"Panic?! I would never!" Sure, Cherino. "Hey, aren't you guys..."
"Ha, so you finally recognize us?" Said that Nodoka girl, looking a little upset.
Hmm, looks like they personally kno- "No, actually who are you people?" Nevermind.
"You... you actually forgot about us?! Unbelievable! We endured here because we were waiting for your approval for our return to the main campus!" Sigh, goddamnit.
"Still not ringing a thing." Cherino... "Yes, Comrade Sensei?" You're a horrible person, you know that right?
"C-Comrade Sensei, how could you say such a thing?!" I used to live in a place exactly like this... we didn't have haloes protecting us where I came from, so a lot of us... just kind of died. "Sensei..."
"I can understand why Sensei would be upset. I mean, President Cherino, I thought you were simply biding time for Spec Ops No.227. But you... you forgot about them completely, leaving them is such a decrepit place..." Huh, I think this is the first time I'm hearing Tomoe speak like this to Cherino.
"Uwaah, Tomoe..." Hmm, looks like Cherino's actually feeling regretful. "But why were they here in the first place?"
"Why, we were suspended for something I did, President Cherino." Said the girl in a commisars uniform.
"It's just a suspension! You didn't have to wait for my permission!" You see, Cherino, that's just the thing. You would've been upset if you knew they came back without your say so. "I wouldn't ha- no, Comrade Sensei... you're right." Huh, so she's actually capable of self reflection? That's good to know then.
And then suddenly, as if realizing something, Cherino's head shot up. "Wait a minute, I remember now!" She said, pointing a finger at the girl with a huge telescope. "You're the one who was stalking your fellow comrades from the rooftop with that oversized telescope!" Nevermind. "No wonder I forgot about you!"
"You exiled us to this ruin, and you forgot about us?! We can't even get a basic meal here!" Nodoka shouted at Cherino, looking and sounding mighty pissed because of course she would be.
"And we have no heater to deal with the biting cold." Said the girl in a commisars uniform... is that a boose flask in her hand?
"And we have bugs in our bed!" Nodoka, was it? I can command the bugs to go away if you want. "And who a- oh, it's the Sensei of Schale. The one with magic!" One minute, she was full of rage. Now, she has a bright smile directed towards me.
"Uhm, I'm Amami Nodoka. It's nice to meet you, Gun Mage Sensei!" Ugh, I'm getting used to the name.
"And I am Mayoi Shigure, I'm sorry we can't properly accommodate you, Sensei." That's fine, you have vodka, right? "Yes... why do you ask, Sensei?" Give it to me, I need it.
And she, Shigure, does just that. Pulling out another flask from within her clothes, and handing it over to me after taking off the cover. And then, I throw my head back to pour the entire flasks contents down my throat.
"Oh my... oh my, oh my!" I heard Shigure exclaiming in a mix of disbelief and absolute glee, giggling slightly in joy as the flask in my hand emptied itself down to my throat. "Sensei gets it! The sweet soothing effects of alcohol in such desperate situation... Oh, I never thought someone else would be-!"
"Shigure! Why did you-?!"
"Comrade Sensei! Alcohol is forbidden!"
"I understand your frustrations, Sensei, but you shouldn't be showing yourself like that to your students!"
Other than Shigure, everyone else with us was absolutely appalled by my display. I understand, but-
"Oh, shut up! I've had an absolute shit day!" That flask calmed my mind, but I don't feel like holding back for now as I gave the flask back to Shigure who still has a gleeful smile.
"Yes, Sensei needs this... can't you guys feel how hard he's had it?" They're right that I shouldn't be chugging entire bottles infront of students, but Shigure's even more so in the sense that I absolutely needed that.
"Three mental breakdowns, a concussion or two, a little bit of brain damage, and now I'm back in the shithole that is the Eastern Union." I said aloud with a tired sigh, dropping down on my ass, finally feeling the fatigue from carrying Cherino all the way here.
"Three... so the one with Marina wasn't the first, then."
"Concussions and brain damage... how did that even happen?"
"You hate your homeland that much, Comrade Sensei?" Tomoe asked, looking at me in thought of something. Then she widens her eyes, covering her mouth as she gasped. She turns to the side, whatever she's realized she's evidently not telling the two smaller girls.
[Mind Read]
Going by how terrible of a condition he was in when he first appeared in the news, and how concerningly scrawnyhe was... a place without the abundance of Kivotos, and the irresponsible policies of Red Winter... I see, what a terrible place that must've truly been
"All of that aside. Cherino, can they come back with us once we get you back into power?" I ask, slowly picking myself back up as I stared at her.
"Back to power?" Nodoka asked in confusion, and Shigure's probably also confused.
"You see, Chairwoman Marina overthrew her in a revolution. As such, Cherino has no authority to lift your suspensions." Being polite has its merits, but I don't think it'll work in this situation, Tomoe.
"So she's just a powerless little brat now." Nodoka said with a disappointed sigh.
"Hey! I'm not a brat! I might not be in power at the moment, but I'm still Red Winters great leader!" Really now? "Gaze upon my magnificent mustache!"
"Who gives a damn about your fake mustache?!" Sigh, kids will be kids I suppose.
"And who are you calling a kid?!" They both shouted in unison.
"She's the brat here! She's been stalking you like a pervert with her oversized telescope before we got here!" Cherino said to me. And when did she have the time to-
"I'm not a p-pervert!" Nodoka shouted back in indignant rage. "Besides, you got here while you were on his back!" How did you know?
"I.. uhm... Uhh." ... Seems like she really is a stalker.
"You know what, if you help us put Cherino back in power then you'll be back in the main campus."
"Absolutely not!"
"Yeah! I would never work with such an insubordinate brat like her!"
"My, my. You're both so stubborn."
"I might have a way to deal with this." Shigure said, to which they all stared at her as she let out a sly smile.
/
Cherino and Nodoka had some sort of drinking competition with a drink made with fermenting I think Sugar and fruits, kompot is what they called it. Cherino won, then somehow fully won Nodoka to our side with her words.
Well, she is a leader so wether she writes her own speeches or not, she's at least gonna be a little capable with negotiations.
After that, Cherino was whining about there being nowhere to sleep. Then we walked through the cold, snow filled forest and onto a library that she said was a cozy place for a nap.
She also said that she's taken a hundred naps at this library. I mean... yeah, libraries are kind of cozy I guess.
There was also something about that place being filled with evil reactionaries who rebel against her at every turn. The Knowledge Liberation Front... that's a really kickass name for a group.
Then Tomoe went on about how Cherino was a genius, even formulating a plan at that time. Cherino definitely wasn't thinking about it, but the library was not only one of the largest clubs in Red Winter, but their headquarters is a natural stronghold. Seriously, I think Tomoe would be a better leader at this point.
Recruit the library, Tomoe said. If that really was the case, then we'd be on a somewhat even footing with Marina and her forces... now that I think about it, I actually have no idea how large, or small her forces are but better safe than sorry I guess.
And finally, we've arrived. The place looks kind of colorful here inside. There's a green haired girl wearing a fluffy white winter coat seating by the table hunched over reading a thin book.
"I finally got it! The new Sharl X Rei fanbook from Luriel! I scored big time!" She said with a blush and some giggles. "I wonder what steamy passions await me this time." Ah, so it's a smutty book?
"Who's there?! And no, it's not just a smutty book!" Me and my mouth, ladies and... actually, just ladies. "Oh... the Sensei... and President Cherino? What brings you here?"
"Good question, Comrade Momiji. I am here to-"
"You don't need to say, you're here to confiscated our precious books again, aren't you?!" Oh, no wonder they've been rebelling against her.
That went on for a little while, with Momiji crying and begging Cherino to at least her her read that smutty book three times. Cherino tried to explain her situation, but ended up getting interrupted everytime by Momiji.
"Oh please, shut up! I'm not here for your stupid books!"
"Then what are you here for?"
"Isn't that obvious? The library's true calling, for a nap!"
"The library is for reading! Why don't you sleep in your own room, great leader?!" Momiji practically spat out that title.
"You see, Chairwoman Marina overthrew president Cherino, and noe we're on the run." Calmly explained by Tomoe.
"Huh? So you got overthrown again?" Fucking excuse me, what do you mean by again?! "Oh, Sensei. Coups are pretty popular here in Red Winter." So that means... she actually retook power herself considering the coups are weekly.
"Precisely, Sensei. It's the third coup in just this month." I see... and how did she regain power in each of those times, Tomoe? "It was all thanks to Marina's unparalleled leadership back then." Is that so?
This is a lot. Kivotos itself was almost overwhelming to me, but this is... just a lot. I sigh out of tiredness, unable to keep up with whatever is happening. Feeling my body drop, and my eyelids shutting.
Slowly, I felt myself drift off to sleep.
Only to be woken up by numerous fully automatic gunfire from a lot of girls dressed in white marching uniforms. Tomoe is peaking out to fire back with her rifle and Cherino's holding her head down in cover with a pistol in her hand.
And Nodoka is also here, blindly spraying the enemy girls with a weirdly shaped submachinegun, and where's-
I stop my thoughts as I felt a hand grabbing my shirts collar, and dragging me into cover. I look up to see who's pulling me, and I see Shigure holding a large revolver shaped gun. And those munitions... I think it's a mortar... or a grenade launcher of some sort.
My guess is right as she pulled her hand back from my collar as I'm already in cover, handling her gun with both hands, she pulls the trigger and something is thrown out the barrel. Something that exploded once it hit the ground, knocking out many of the enemies dressed in white.
But it looks like more are co-
[Roots That Reap]
The feeling of my mind seeping away pushed out any sleepiness I had, as many roots shot up from the floor and entangled themselves on the approaching hostiles as well as having shut the path, preventing more from coming in.
"Wow... magic is mighty convenient, isn't it."
"Yeah... so cool!"
After that, we found Momiji crying and whining about how she's failed civilized society by letting Cherino have her way with the books. To which Cherino began talking as she did to Nodoka, somehow fully winning her to our side.
Cherino said that all the fighting shook off her sleepiness, so... all of that was kind of pointless but hey, we can now rival Marina in numbers.
Then she went on about how she's gonna launch an invasion... of Trinity, Millennium, and Gehenna... hopefully, she's just saying that for dramatic effect.
/
Sunlight finally came as we arrived here in Red Winter proper, students walking all around with smiles as the festive preparations were close to completion.
Cherino expressed her jealousy at the many festival goers, talking about how she's the leader yet she's suffering then ordering Tomoe to write down the names of everyone here.
Tomoe, thankfully, managed to convince her otherwise. Telling Cherino that she never had time to enjoy festivals as she was always the one directing them, and so, we accompanied Cherino as she went on to enjoy the festives as a common person.
And she's smiling, not because of her power, but because... Cherino's experiencing the kind of happiness leaders seemingly never get. That's good I suppose.
We then came upon a pile of firewood.
"Oh, that's probably the altar the Labor Party was making." Cherino said with a slight surprise directed towards the apparent altar. "I personally commissioned them to make an altar for the annual burning of springtime doll." Sounds like an old tradition here.
"But yes, it's not much of an altar without decorations. The festival is nearly starting, why isn't it done yet?!" Cherino asked, demanded to whoever was listening with a furious pout. "Are they also trying to sabotage the festival?!"
"But President, this isn't where you ordered to make the burning altar." Tomoe said, making the both of us turn our heads as we looked at her. "The altar you ordered was to be made infront of the Secretariat building." So this pile of burning wood has nothing to do with the Ivan Kupala?
"Then what is this pile of scrap wood even for? Hmm, those are students from the Labor Party, let's ask them." Said Cherino as she started frolicking towards the... mob of students in worker coverall uniforms... I think those are rioters.
I thought as I run after her, Tomoe behind me following.
"Hello fellow Comrades! How's work going?" Cherino asked... probably their leader. A girl in a greyish black jacket with orange lines in the arm, wearing a white scarf and helmet holding a loudspeaker in her hand and an assault rifle slung in her back. Her halo is a light blue circle with lines on it.
"We are no slaves! We shall be the masters of the world!" She shouted, her speaker making her voice louder, loud enough to echo throughout the entire place. Followed by her followers all cheering loudly.
Cherino backs away a little, voicing out her befuddlement as Tomoe and I reached her side.
"Comrades, the Ivan Kupala festival begins next week." The leader started, pausing and waiting for her followers to quiet down. "What is Ivan Kupala if not to celebrate the bounties of nature, to discard the winters salted meat and bread so that we may enjoy the fresh fruits of spring. The students of Red Winter is no exception, we also deserve to enjoy the festival!" She said, and then all of her followers cheered in agreement.
"But instead of being able to enjoy the festival, we instead are forced to work double shifts in the freezing cold!" And with that, I give Cherino a look.
"Sensei, what's with that scary look?!"
"For violating Red Winters values of freedom and equality, we denounce the Secretariat! Bring us president Cherino, at this instant!" She declared and demanded, followed by her comrades cheers. "Unless we're guaranteed plenty of food, rest, additional pay, and uhmm... two puddings we aren't backing down." I understand everything but the last one, why pudding of all things?
Nevermind that, I turn around with a hand directing Cherino to do the sa-
"Wait, wait, wait! Who said you could organize a protest?!" Oh goddamnit. Before she could spout out more needless words, I cover her mouth with my hand. "Hmph! Hmph! Hmphhymph!" She muffled through my hand.
Their leader looked, stared even at Cherino who's struggling to pry off my hand from her mouth with her followers all glaring.
"... I do not know why you are here, but this is great timing. Comrades! Seize the president, and tie her at the stake!" With any hesitation, many of her followers started walking towards us. And before they could reach Cherino, I put myself between them.
"Wait, wait. Stake?! You're not gonna burn me, are you?" Cherino asked behind me in fear, holding on to me leg as she peaked out.
"No, this may be a revolution but we'd never do something so terrible." That's great I guess. "But you're still a terrible leader who pushes all of her work to us, you're reign of terror must come to an end." Pft, I let out a small giggle at her words.
"Anyway, Sensei of Schale." She said, addressing me directly. "First and foremost, I am Yasumori Minori. Leader of the Labor Party."
"Levi, just Levi." Now that I think back to it, making my name sound like it's from medieval times with "of Prehevil" sounds kind of cringey.
"Right, Levi-Sensei. You might be a teacher, but I will not let you interrupt our revolution." She, Minori, said with absolute conviction in her eyes.
[Diplomacy]
"That's great, rebellion against a tyrant is admirable." It truly is, no matter how people will look at it in any angle.
"Uwaah, Comrade?!" Shh, let me deal with this, Cherino.
"Ah, a fellow revolutionary I see. Then Sensei-"
"Ikekura Marina launched a power grab against Cherino last night." I said with haste, interrupting whatever she was going to say. I used that term instead of "coup" or "revolution" as it basically means the same thing, but not as good. Truly, Miss Karin has the best negotiation skills. She could tell me that Mister Marcoh punched me when she clearly shot me and I would actually believe her.
Minori, along with her followers all froze looking confused and bewildered.
"Yes! As Sensei said, the tyrant you're after is Chairwoman Marina! We should be with eachother as we're both after the same tyrant!" Tomoe declared with enthusiasm that I'm only feeling now. "I understand that Cherino is lazy, napping and snacking practically all day and night, as well as having an itchy punishment finger." Pft, hehhe, hahaha.
"C-Chief Secretary Tomoe! Is that what you actually think of me?!" I'm sure it's what everyone thinks of you, Cherino. "Uwaah, Comrade!" She whined out.
"Even then, Red Winter is the way it is because of you, Comrade Cherino." Minori said with reserved anger in her voice and breath. "The pudding shortages, the delayed restoration of the former institute, the chilly weather. It's all your fault, Comrade Cherino!" Only one of those is actually a valid complaint.
"The failings of our great academy, it is all to be blamed at president Cherino." Okay, that's just-
"Crazy talk! That would mean whoever's in charge is always guilty!" I kind of agree with Cherino here.
"Exactly! This revolution is to shift the balance of power! So long as only one person rules the academy, then this conflict will never end!" Huh, that's actually... what's the term?
"There's no winning with protestors like this, Levi. They'll keep on complaining, no matter who's in charge"
Right. "But Cherino isn't the one in charge, remember?"
"Yes, Comrade Marina is the tyrant to topple for now. Cherino is just a stupid little brat who's all bark and no bite."
"Hey!"
"Change of plans then. Comrades! We march to the Secretariat, and we will bring down the tyrant Marina!" I let out a small giggle, hearing that title next to her name. Marina Domek would've been goofy as a ruler.
/
And so, here I am infront of... basically an army with Tomoe and Cherino by my side. The many members of the Knowledge Liberation Front with Momiji in white uniforms with their rifles as the ready, the Labor Party members with Minori looking like they just want to start charging at the building already, and then there's Nodoka and Shigure from the distance running towards us.
Sounds like Minori's about to order a charge.
[Phase Step]
"Minori, can I borrow your loud speaker?"
"Hmm, sure Sensei." And so, she hands it to me.
Let's see... there's a button in the... I press it hoping it's the on button, and thankfully I'm right as a loud sound came from it. Alright, here we go.
"Comrades! Students of Red Winter Academy!" I started, my voice echoing loudly as each and everyone stopped their chatters and focused on me. "We are gathered here today... not to put Cherino back in power, but to topple a tyrant that took over not in the name of revolution, but of greed and power!" I'm not sure if they even know or care about what the coups are for, but... they're all cheering so I'm just gonna keep talking.
"You! Children of Red Winter, children of revolution! Show the tyrant Marina you're strength and devotion for your beloved academy! You're beloved motherland!" I'm just saying random stuff at this point, but they're cheering on even louder so I guess I'm doing well.
"Here's the plan!" I announced, then I waited for them to all quiet down before continuing on. "Firstly, we need to stretch them thin! Second is to take away their ability to fight back, aim for their weapons! And finally after all of that, we go after the head of the snake, the tyrant Marina!" And one last time, cheers and war cries from the Knowledge Liberation Front and the Labor Party echoed throughout the entire place.
"Proud students of Red Winter, spread out!"
[Order, Charge]
"Overwhelm the tyrants forces like a tidal wave!" I roared through the loudspeaker, and then they all started charging the Secretariat building.
"Sensei, my speaker." Oh, Minori. Here you go. "Thank you." And with that, she started charging and roaring along with her comrades.
From the building, I see some girls in white uniforms rushing out with mounted machineguns, setting it down and then opening fire spraying the horde on our side.
Most of them were armed with assault rifles, some firing from the windows as the main force outside meeting the horde seems... eh, a little outnumbered.
"Levi, they're outnumbered 10 to 1..."
Obviously. So, where are the Kaiser mercenary girls?
"The who now?" Cherino asked, taking out her pistol and reluctantly jogging along with the horde as she's looking back at me.
"Mercenaries, that would be troublesome." Said Tomoe, following after Cherino as she took aim with her rifle and fired. I can't tell if she hit one of the enemies or not.
Hmm, Nodoka and Shigure are already on the front. Explosions from Shigure's grenade launcher blowing apart one of the defending sides formations.
[Phase Step]
I suppose I should join in now. Taking out my Lugr as I began running with the horde, I thought about what commands I should give and in what situations that would arise where I need to give them. There's also some of the things I won't be expecting, but with the progress we're making and the number of our forces...
Some have already reached Marina's forces, engaging in a melee with their guns buttstocks before driving either a KLF or a Labor Party member out of their formation and then returning fire once again.
The defensive formations on the far left and right have been overwhelmed and brought down. And slowly but surely, the combined forces of Nodoka's KLF and Minori's forces were going through Marina's forces quick. Just a little more, and we'll completely breach their defenses.
"Levi, at the top! "
Wincing slightly as Reila raised her voice in my head, I slightly turned my head up to see... those girls in camo uniform, the former Kaiser girls. And they have artillery and mortar pieces!
Boom! Boom!
They fired directly down from the rooftop, hitting and scattering the advancing forces and some of the defensive ones as well.
One, two... they only have six howitzers, and four mortar pieces. Many of them armed with assault rifles started opening fire, just as our forces fired back at their positions. I see more of them charging outside, repelling our forces farther as their defensive lines reorganized. Damnit.
I lock eyes with... I'm assuming their leader without a helmet. A blonde twin... drill? Drill looking hair with a halo that looks like pipes? No, gun barrels around it. She's holding a wooden Rondonish looking rifle and... are those old ass muskets holstered to her gear?
Nevermind that, before her forces could reload to fire another battery I need to take them out. Well, it's time to test the modified Black Orb Reila engraved into my mind.
Putting my Lugr back into it's holster and reaching my open hand out, I start focusing on casting-
[Greater Black Orb]
Instead of the usual purple spirals, the otherworldly black sphere has a vibrant blue spiralling on its form. And the headache... it was practically nonexistent!
Aiming the spell towards the blonde twin drill haired girl, I then lau-
In an instant, before I could even react. A girl with pink hair tied to twin fluffy buns armed with a bow, shot an arrow filled with a pink blazing aura towards the Black Orb... dissipating it along with itself as it made contact... what the hell? That pink arrow... I could feel it, it was filled with so nuch positivity that it cancelled the ill will in the Black Orb. I could feel it!
I stare at the pink haired girl with a bow, looking back at me with pity. I'm not seeing any guns or magazines on her, just a quiver of arrows in her back. Her halo... looks like it has pink flowers in it.
Boom! Boom!
They fired their artilleries second battery down our forces, forcing them back even further as Marina's forces even started counter advancing. Tsk, I need to finish them off fast.
Maybe a Combustion will do the-
I feel it! Someone's aiming a gun at me!
[Bob And Weave] [Fast Stance] [Adrenaline Rush]
I instinctually shifted my footing, swinging my body left, right, and basically all around as I heard some bullets whizzing past me.
Hhrnnk!
I groaned out through gritted teeth as some hit me... it's... rubber. Rubber bullets... whoever that bullet is from, they intentionally aimed at me.
"I see... so you're not purely reliant on magic, Sensei of Schale." I turn to the source of the voice a girl with long flowing black hair, she's wearing a headband and her halo... is purple resembling a clock. She's wearing military gear and a dessert pattern uniform like her comrades. "That, however, doesn't matter." She said, a pistol on both of her hands pointing at me.
Pulling out my Lugr, I aimed as fast as I could and started blasting down on her feet. "You talk too much!" I loudly reprimanded.
She dashes, wholly ignoring my shots as she opened fire herself with my bullets hitting her feet, tripping with a bewildered face as her bulletes flew somewhere else and she landed on the snow with her face.
I then used two more bullets shooting off her pistols from her hand. Huh, that was easier than expected.
Boom! Boom!
Tsk, another battery from their artillery! I turn to look at our forces, slowly retreating, barely being able to fight back as Marina's forces with those mercenary reinforcements advanced.
I was about to put my Lugr back to it's holster until I heard rapid footsteps in the snow rushing towards me.
I turn to face this charger, pointing my Lugr an-
My hand got smacked by something hard and fast, the pain paralyzing my hand letting go of the Lugr as I saw my attacker. A short blue haired girl dual wielding sabers still in their sheaths with a confident smirk.
"Hehe, I didn't expect you to deal with Homura-chan that fast." She said in a mocking way. She's in dessert pattern uniform like her friends, with small shields in her blue halo.
I jump back, almost in panic as she jumped closer after me. I bite my thumb, hard enough to draw blood to-
[Blood Sword] [Melee Proficiency]
I pre swung my hand even before the sword fully manifested, catching her off guard as the force of its manifestation parried the strike of her still sheated sabers.
The girl with sheated sabers readjusts her footing, preparing to strike once more as I approached with my red longsword down.
I throw my arm up, twisting my hand to give the upwards swing more power to parry the her head thrust.
Clang!
The clash of steel echoed in my, and most likely also her ears. Her right hand thrown away from my parry, and in comes a strike from her left. I bend my knees in an instant, barely blocking her swing as a thrusted towards her face forcing her to close her eyes.
I see her right arm coming back for an overhead swing, so I bend my arm as I brought it back twisting my hand to face the blade away from my face and onto her strike coming down.
Clang!
The position my arm is in allowed me to spring it up, throwing her off as I swung towards her. The red vibrant magical slash forcing her even further away by its force.
"Hah! So you're also a master swordsman? Seriously, master gunslinger and sniper, a honest to God mage, what else?!" I can't tell if she's impressed, jealous, or seething in rage.
Tsk, I can barely keep on holding the sword. The pain is still paralyzing my hand.
She's far enough that I have enough room to aim at the rooftops, and cut their artillery apart like knife through butter. Aiming the Blood Sword horizontally, I wind my arm back and swi-
Huh? My thoughts stop as suddenly, I'm facing away from the Secretariat building. And to my vulnerable left side without an arm, the blue haired saber girl with a smirk swung her left sword at my leg making me stumble down to a knee. I see her winding up to thrust her right sword, I try moving my arm to block it but... someone's holding it. You... Homura! Was it?!
"Damn right, did you think you could easily defeat me?" She said with a smirk herself.
Boom! Boom!
Another battery finally forcing our forces into a disorganized retreat. Damnit! My arm might be locked, but I can still move my hand!
[Double Hurting]
The black and red energy of the spell spiralled in my hand to a ball. Before the blue haired girls blunt thrust could reach my face, I launch it towards her.
"Eh? Agh!" She reacted with confusion for a split second as the ball of hate covered her vision, then she screamed in fright as she was thrown away by it. It then detonated, scattering around the red and black energy as she screamed.
"Well, Sayaka was always overconfident but I should've expected that in the first place." Homura said in gritted teeth out of frustration. The Blood Sword on the ground behind her. "So what now, Gun Mage Sensei?"
[Flesh Puppetry]
The puppet hands flew out of my shadow. "Huh?!" With this Homura girl looking on in utter bewilderment and panic. Her eyes follow the fleshy puppet hands as it both held the Blood Sword by its handle.
"Tsk." She clicked her tongue in annoyance, watching as the hands winded up preparing to strike her as she's still restraining me.
"Horizontal swing at the rooftop! Destroy their artillery!" I probably didn't have to shout that order out, but I still did so in a mix of panic and adrenaline.
"What?! No, Madoka!" Homura shouted, desperation obvious in her tone and expression as the puppet hands swing towards the rooftop, the traces of a red slash rippling through the air.
I see the Homura's halo shining with a thing aura surrounding it, the clock hands spinning rapi-
And as if time passed without me knowing of it, I'm free from her restraint. I see the shattered remains of the Blood Sword, the flesh puppet hands on the ground with bullet holes.
Homura's standing over, huffing and puffing with smoke blowing out of her dual pistols muzzle. "Tsk, Madoka!" Again, she shouted that name towards the Secretariat building...
Oh, thank fuck. She didn't stop the slash, I see all but two of their artillery pieces sliced in half. Same with some of their rifles also in half.
I see Momiji's white winter clothing in the middle of the Labor Party girls, holding some sort of shoulder mounted launcher aiming upwards. It's projectile then rockets towards the roof, hitting and thankfully destroying the mortars and last two pieces as Momiji's projectile exploded and blew black smoke around the roof.
Marina's forces, along with the mercenaries all stopped their counter advance staring at their artillery support now being nonexistent.
"Ah, Madoka. You're safe..." Hmm, following where Homura is looking at, I see the pink haired girl from earlier with a bow waving towards us. "And you, Sensei... you'll pay for even trying that!" She shouted, her halo glowing with the clock hands spinning
She ejects her pistols magazines and picking up ano- again, even faster than the blink of an eye. She's skipped reloading entirely and just started shooting again. But thankfully, the bullets all somehow miss me or... with the ones landing on me, it's like they lost whatever force they had and just dropped down to the ground.
This must be Arona's protection.
With my thumb still dripping red from my earlier bite, I flick to towards Homura. A small droplet flying through the air, the clock hands on her halo spinning as panic shows in her face for whatever is coming.
[First Blood Golem]
As if phasing into existence from nothing, the hulking skinless figure appeared almost in a pouncing motion. Homura jumps back in a panic, riddling the Blood Golem with bullets with some blood splattering from where she's hitting.
The Blood Golem being a mass full of muscles, it was faster and stronger than her, grabbing one of her arms as-
Again, as if time has passed only for her. She's disrobed her long sleeved uniform, which is still on the Blood Golems hand who keeps turning his head in confusion. Looking at the article of clothing in his hand, and then to Homura who's missing the top of her uniform.
She isn't wearing an extra piece of clothing under her uniform, she's using the gear and ammo pouch holders she has to cover her breasts.
"Sensei... as a teacher, you shouldn't be looking at your exposed student like that." Homura said with utter disgust in her voice, glaring at me as if I were a piece of trash. "Creepy old man..."
"Hey! I'll have you know, I only reached 18 a few months ago!" She widens her eyes in shock at my words, putting her guard down enough as I mentally ordered the Blood Golem to charge her.
She backs away in a panic, tripping over the remains of the flesh hands. She looks at the Blood Golem approaching her, almost in fear as it jumped towards her.
That didn't happen, as an arrow with pink blazing aura shot through the Blood Golem, utterly obliterating his torso. We both look towards the source of the arrow, it's the pink haired girl again!
The Blood Golem dissolves back into nothing.
"Levi, I figured out Homura's ability! It's- "
Before Reila could tell me, I'm suddenly hunched over with parts of my body aching. A punch from Homura forces my head to the side, followed by a gut punch and another punch to the face.
-Time manipulation! It's time manipulation! I don't know how, but she's doing it! "
Seriously, how the fuck am I supposed to fight that?
Backing away whilst I limped on my left leg from Homura, who has her hands up ready to throw more punches, I see the clock hands in her halo slowly halting with the glowing aura no longer visible.
Hmm, maybe... it's limited like the spells I have.
[Mind Read]
I need to end this fast, or at least keep the upper hand until I can recharge... what's he staring at me for? Is he... really just a pervert?
She thought with a slight blush forming in her cheeks. Not really, I'm just happy to discover that your... time manipulation, as hard as it is to believe that such a thing would even exist, has its limit.
Homura looks at me with a panicked expression, feet and legs trembling.
How did he know?! Can he perhaps... also control time? Was it too obvious? Is there time control magic where he comes from? Or was I just obvious? No, he said he found out it had a limit... how did... he know...
"You... you can read minds?!" Homura shouted, in a mix of emotions like disgust, anger, and fear. "Just what kind of wish did you ask from Kyubey?! And when did he start recruiting boys?!" Fucking what now?
"Who the fuck is Kyubey?! And recruiting boys? I'm assuming he fucked kids?" To my answer which was itself only more questions, she only shows confusion... and then Homura sighs in relief for whatever reason.
"No... you do not need to know, Sensei." Is that so?
[Roots That Reap]
While her guard is still down, while she's not expecting it, roots shot out from under her. In a moment, she was tied in... uhmm, I think that's a kinky way of being tied up. Vines wrapping around her breasts and thighs. Her arm behind her back, feet and legs also up.
"You... you're really a pervert! If you lay even a finger on Madoka, I will-!"
[Greater Black Orb]
And before the pink haired girl can counter it, I launch it mid manifestation. It isn't making a hailstorm as it moved, but it's still fast travelling around in an arc and then to the side of the Secretariat building.
The pink haired girl didn't even have a chance to draw her bow. The black and blue sphere destroyed the roof, throwing some of the girls who were providing covering fire up the air.
I then made a pulling motion to the Black Orb, directing it to destroy their ground forces. The Black Orb impacted the ground, it's great force imploding the land from within and the enemy forces all being thrown around as if they were hit by massive naval shells.
And just like that, our forces began charging once again. This time even faster as the opposition is now basically nonexistent. At the rooftop, I see the pink haired girl holding a makeshift flagpole with a white clothe at the waving around at the top.
"Thank God, she's safe!" Hey, Homura. Which God are you talking about? "Huh? What do you mean? Of course I'm talking about the Christian God, the one and only most of Europe prays to." You mean Europa? And Alll-Mer? What do you mean by Christian?
"Sensei... I don't think we have the same things in mind." No we don't.
"Hah! I'm not... down yet!" That voice, I think Homura called her... Sayaka? "Yeah, that's me... and whats up with Homura?" She asked while catching her breath, closhes and hair slightly damaged presumably from the Hurting explosion.
"Oh my... you're a kinky boy, aren't you?" Young lady, you shouldn't be talking like that. "Don't you "young lady" me! I heard from earlier that you're just 18! We're basically the same age!"
Sayaka then gets into formation, her sheated swords acting as blunt force weapons at the ready. "I'm kind of curious, how are you using all that magic without the magical girl, or I suppose a magical boy transformation in your case?" The fucking what now?
"I can see your soul gem on your ring, it's glowing... something bad will happen if it breaks." Sayaka said with a soft voice as a warning, worry and concern present in her face.
"Okay, you girls have to be making that up! This is a Betel ring! It's to calm the mind!" I loudly explained in exasperation, raising my hand and my ring finger with the Betel ring. To distract myself a little, I look over to our forces charging in the building. I think I saw Cherino screaming and running along with her pistol up.
"Calm the mind? But why? And if that's for calming the mind... then how are you using magic?" She asked with confusion, bringing her weapon down and getting out of combat formation.
"It's the magic of the Old and Ascended Gods, in the Skin Bibles I released a while back."
"Really now? I thought you were just making some kind of sex cult with that Sylvain Goddess." This girl...! It's like she's really asking for it. "Not that you would need any of that, you're the only human boy in the entirety of Kivotos." ... Huh, good point. I haven't seen any other dudes since getting here.
"Sayaka, I don't think he's from earth." Homura said, still sounding upset at the... kinky position she's in.
"Huh? Then... with all of that magic, he's probably from a magical fantasy world or something!" Magic is scarce, even long time practitioners like the Vatican and their Ministry of Darkness, and even the damn Yellow Mages have it hard just trying to learn Hurting. That black and red ball I threw at you.
"And Ragnvaldr the Monster Hunter slew so much mythical beasts that they became just bedtime stories like the Salmonsnake."
"Ministry of Darkness... Vatican... seriously?" I haven't been to the Vatican, and I only learned magic two days before being sent here. "Is that so? So you didn't make a wish with a... cat rabbit looking alien piece of shit?" Fuck no.
"That's good I suppose... hah, Mami-san is great and all, but she's not beating that many people back."
/
And so, Cherino got her power and authority back and everyone got along and started celebrating, foods and drinks all being consumed everywhere.
Marina and her forces were all given the punishment of cleaning bathrooms... that's actually more preferable than whatever dissenters to either E.U or Bremen would suffer.
Apparently, she started the power grab because... she accidentally broke the mustache of one of Cherino's statue, which Cherino didn't know or care about, and she was so afraid of whatever punishment she would suffer that she said fuck it and took power for herself.
Even with how much Cherino liked her, she was still afraid.
"Tyrants and their personality cults, Levi. If you met and spoke with the Kaiser like I did when the state first took notice of me, you would know the fear of potentially incurring one's wrath..."
Right. I stayed a bit for some breakfast and Vodka. But I left early, the actual Ivan Kupala festival is still a week from now after all. Ugh, I didn't get any sleep aside from the five minutes nap I had in the Knowledge Liberation Front headquarters before having gun fire as an alarm.
I'm... taking a small nap before heading over Millennium to check on those twins... and Aris.
That aside, here in the train on the way back with some animal or machine people looking at... basically my general direction in slight fear and confusion.
Well, I mean... it's only a company of mercenary girls on uniforms, gears, and helmets. So almost a hundred scary looking girls on the train, the only safeguard they would have is the fact that I'm holding the crate carrying their guns... which all somehow fit in this small ass crate.
"So... Sensei. A haloless woman in pink told us to come with you and enroll to Abydos, she said she met with one of our... friends." Said the blonde, twin drill haired girl with caution and suspicion. Oh, that was Reila, ask her yourself.
"I'm here." Speak of the devil, and she shall appear in a film like distortion in the fabric of reality. "I met Kyoko with Mikhail, an automaton brigade commander."
"Kyouko?! That's... surprising. I wouldn't have expected that, she... never got along with adults." The blonde girl exclaimed in shock, followed by a somber explanation. "Oh right, I should introduce myself."
"My name is Tomoe Mami, it is a pleasure to meet you two." She, Mami introduced herself politely with a bow small bow in her seat. Hehe, you have the same name as Tomoe. "Yes, that is a funny coincidence. The Red Winter General Secretary's personal name also being my family name."
So theoretically, there could be a person named Tomoe Tomoe?
"Pft, yes. As funny as that would sound." She said with a small dignified giggle, coveri6her mouth as she did.
"Before you ask, I told Kyoko the same thing. Yes, you attacked Abydos. But they're starting their schools restoration, I don't think they'll reject any applicants." Reila explained with absolute certainty in her tone. "Oh, and I'm Reila Haas by the way. Nice to meet you girls."
"Yes... I suppose we owe them an apology." Said the pink haired girl, Madoka as Homura called her, with a small smile. "I'm Kaname Madoka by the way, Levi of Prehevil-san, and Haas-san." I can see why Homura likes you so much.
"H-hey!"
"Yes, Homura-san might act standoffish, but she's a really nice person deep down." Madoka explained, her kindness is contagious. I can feel it. "You two should introduce yourselves to Sensei now."
"Of course. I'm Akemi Homura. Sensei, you were only lucky in your victory earlier. And I refuse to trust a pervert like you with our life." But you're the one who stripped mid fight, as well as the one not wearing extra clothing underneath your uniform. "Y-you...!"
"And I'm Miki Sayaka. A swordswoman that's your equal, Sensei!" Right, I was wondering about something.
"Apart from Mami and Homura, you and Madoka aren't using guns. Why is that?"
"Well, guns are overrated! Swords are much more cooler!" Sayaka said, showing an enthusiasm that I've never seen from anyone else.
"Guns are scary... bows are cool and elegant." Madoka said with a soft voice. You... you weren't born and raised here, weren't you? "Well... yes, but no." I feel like a lot of questions would have that answer.
"Well... I don't mind telling you, Sensei."
"But Madoka!"
"Don't worry, Homura. Sensei might look scary, but deep down... he's kind, even scared like we are." Madoka told Homura, her tone and expression basically radiating positivity.
Me... scared? I've faced war, a chaos cult, horrors within and beyond human comprehension, and the fuckin Moon God. What would I be scared... of?
"Watch your language with Madoka." Homura muttered towards me with a glare and gritted teeth.
"That's fine, Homura." Homura seems to calm down with Madoka's voice. "Yes, Sensei, those are certainly impressive things to survive through. But... did you really want to go through all of those horrors?"
...
...
...
"Kid, you're taking all of... that a little too well." I said with a sigh, realizing that she isn't reacting as bad as... basically everyone else I've told about those things.
"I'll get to that. Firstly, Homura." Madoka called out, reaching her hand out to Homura who then interlocked her fingers with Madoka's. Something colorful started manifesting, and then... it expanded and engulfed us.
"W-what the hell happened?!" Reila shouted out in shock, bolting up from her seat and looking around. The girls... don't seem to be bothered, at least the colorful quartet.
Everything is grey... and frozen. This must be Homura's time stop.
"Time stop... that's both frightening and amazing of an ability, Homura." Reila said, calming down and then looking around with wonder and awe.
"I used to be able to do more, but my abilities have been limited ever since we found ourselves here in Kivotos." Ah, so you girls are outsiders like me?
"Nah, we didn't have haloes in our past life." Sayaka said, feet up the table looking fully relaxed. "We were reborn here. We only have glimpses of our past life though." I see.
"Past life? Reborn?" You're the God here, these shouldn't be a surprise to you, Reila. "W-why wouldn't I be?! Those are beyond even the Old Gods!"
"Is that so? Well, I'm actually glad that I no longer possess that potential." Just a few words from Madoka, Reila and I already have our full focus on her. "It's a long story." Does it have to do with that Kyubey person Homura talked about?
"Yes, he was... an alien offering wishes to girls like us." That sounds dubious like that damned pedo cat.
"Yes, and as an added bonus to a practically conditionless wish, we were also given amazing powers, magic if you will." I see, then can you show me this magic, Mami?
"That is no longer possible, Sensei." And why is that, Homura?
"We don't have it anymore. It was gone the moment we were here." Sayaka explained, looking relaxed yet sounding saddened.
"And what was the cost for that wish and magic?" Reila asked, out of a mix of dread and curiosity. Because naturally, there's no such thing as a free blessing, no matter which God we pray to.
"In turn. If we ever fell to despair, if we used too much magic and our soul gems broke. Then we would turn into witches." Tomoe explained with a strained voice, looking down with a sad face with a tear leaking down her cheek.
"I see... like a moonscorch?" And with that, the four girls all looked up to me in surprise and curiosity. "I'm a little jealous that you girls start with a wish, but back where I came from with the Moon God Rher? That piece of shit God only held spite and jealousy for humans. He would just look at a random guy and then boom, he transforms to an abomination!" I start laughing out loud at my rant about Rher.
"I won his damn festival, and the only thing I got was a duel with an asshole mage, and Rher himself trying to make me go braindead." Now's probably a good time to use that. Pulling out the box of high quality cigars that I looted from their former boss, I took out a stick and put it on my mouth.
[Pyromancy Trick]
I sigh in relaxation as it's mind numbing effects were almost immediate.
"Levi! In front of your students?!"
"That's fine, Haas-san. People... resort to vices to ease their suffering." Madoka is too nice... now I'm feeling bad. I take the cig out of my mouth, flicking it out the train window. That aside, the rest of your story?
"Right, our magic was... kind of reflective of our wishes."
"Yes, I wished... to live through an accident where I no doubt would've perished with my parents." Damn, Mami. Don't worry, I'm an orphan as well. "Sensei... that's not something to be bragging about!" I'm getting scolded by a girl again.
"I wished for a boy I liked to be cured of his illness... and I turned to a witch because liked another girl." Sucks to be you, Sayaka. But still, I'm kind of jealous that you at least had that experience. "Yeah, I can tell just by your appearance that it was shit wherever you came from."
"Homura wished to turn back time, so that she could try and save her beloved for all eternity." Madoka said with a sly teasing smile, acting dramatic and all that stuff.
"M-Madoka! Well... you made a wish to save a cat that just got itself ran over again." Homura said in retaliation, followed by a regretful look in her face. No need to be ashamed of your wish being known to all, it's... a beautiful admirable wish... both of your wishes. "Yeah, but that was... only one of Madoka's wishes."
"Yes, her time reversal did some things... made me the strongest magical girl, whatever my wish would've been."
"Is that how you managed something that even the Old Gods couldn't do?"
"Yes, Haas-san. I... I could've wished for the salvation of magical girls, to make the world a better place..." Madoka trailed off, shaking as she brought her head down. "I was scared, instead of doing those things... I wished for me and my friends to be brought to a place where Kyubey couldn't reach us... where we couldn't turn to witches." As she confessed all of those things, she sobbed, tears leaking down her skirt.
That's... a beautiful wish, Madoka. You did the right thing, being selfish. "But Levi-Sensei..." It was your wish to make. You could've turned to a God, but you instead shared it with your friends. To protect them and all that.
That's something I would've killed for.
"Levi-Sensei... thank you!"
/
Finally, some sleep! I pointed Madoka and her friends towards the residence area, whatever they're doing wether they be sleeping or whatever, I don't care at the moment. I need some fucking sleep!
Slowly, as my body sank into the soft cushy bed, I felt myself drifting off to sleep.
...
...
...
Huh, this is... a dream is starting. Slowly, I got some feelings in my body, particularly in my... cock of all places. Slowly, the dream manifested itself visually... Chinatsu?
She's... her clothing is loose... a lot of it is just... not present. She's taking deep breaths with a heavy blush, her head turned as she's looking at me from behind. Her eyes... why is she... looking at me like that?
Slowly, my eyes trail down. Her bare sweaty back, her squishy ass cheeks... and her slit... it's dripping a white sticky liquid... my sticky liquid as I'm also almost fully nude... traces of the same white liquid in her slit is also in my manhoods tip with the traces pleasure in a climax still there.
... This... is quite the dream... not that I'm complaining, but something... feels wrong.
"Levi... that should be enough, right?" Chinatsu said in a begging pleading tone, as if she was about to start crying... what... what the hell is happening here?
I felt my head nodding, my lips stretching to a smirk... this isn't me moving, it's the me in this dream and body... what the hell is wrong with him? Something is wrong, I feel my senses shouting at me, but what?!
"Then please... help President Hina! Use your healing magic on her!" Chinatsu begged, crawling on the bed to turn around and bowing her head down... infront of my throbbing thing... What the happened to Hina? What the hell is wrong with the me in this dream?! Why... why is he getting off to seeing Chinatsu like this?!
/
A/N: Damn, I procrastinated a lot more than usual. I decided to rush the parts of the event that I thought wasn't too important, because I got lazy asf. And now... should I include Madoka Magica in the tags? Now that they're now here, even getting their own segment?
I also wanted to leave on a spicy dream sequence, but... that can wait in the next chapter.
Actually, nevermind. Let me write that down.
And done, yeah. The dream sequence will not be what you guys(or girls) will be expecting in the next chapter.
Edit: had to remove a lot of character tags because Ao3 told me 75 total tags were the limit.
