FFnet edit: here's to hoping this doesn't get reported/deleted. This being a Funger fic should be enough of a warning, along with the end of last chapter.
Soldier Boy and Angel Girls
Levi P.O.V
The rotten me in this dream wasn't satisfied with using Chinatsu like a toy for pleasures just once, he grabbed her by the hair and forcefully pulled her head up as she whimpered and yelped.
Chinatsu was now weeping, her eyes pleading as she choked on the throbbing rod of meat invading her throat... goddamnit... I... I can't believe I'm enjoying the sickening pleasure the bastard me is milking from her.
What the hell is wrong with me here? If Hina was already in a bad enough condition that Chinatsu would even allow this, then once should've been enough! Hell, none at all would've been the only acceptable choice! This me... if only I could move, then I would've snatched the Lugr and shot myself in the head here already!
But... I can't... I can't move a muscle. Like being chained infront of a television, the only thing I could do is watch and feel... the giggling and chuckling from this me's disgusting mouth. How his lips are almost in a never ending smirk.
Chinatsu's hair in my, no, his hands. The feeling of her fleshy soft throat squeezing my manhood... the feeling of her tears flowing down my hips...
And the pleasure... why? Why am I having this dream?
Lastly, as if to mock me... this me still has his left arm intact...
Which he's using to forcefully keep Chinatsu's head steady as he pumped her throat to the brim with his filthy seed, as he did she struggled trying to pitifully pry and push herself away.
"Don't swallow it yet, and don't even think about spitting it out." You... piece of shit! I'll kill you! "I want to see it in your mouth." How dare you?! She... she's the one who treated your- no, our withdrawal! So why? Why would you even...?
Gently, he lets go of Chinatsu's head, letting her pull herself away as she took my... stinger out of her mouth and showed me, him the white liquid in her mouth. Droplets of which are sticking above and the sides.
"Good girl. Now swallow." The me here is giggling full of amusement, the feeling of my mouth grinning makes me want to pull my own teeth out. Just what the hell is up with him?
At his words, Chinatsu's eyes widened slightly as she kept her mouth open. Then, closing her eyes as if anticipating something frightening... her mouth closed, trembling as it did... slowly, she gulped and swallowed...
She opened up her mouth... to show that she actually swallowed it...
...
"Please... Hina-san..." Chinatsu said with puffy eyes, cheeks with dried tears pleading.
"Come on... I thought girls don't like it when other women are mentioned?" This motherfucker! At his clear show of amusement and nonchalance, she simply froze... then, her mouth starts trembling and eyes wetting again. "Alright, alright fine. I'll take care of Hina, so get dressed." He said, still giggling like it's the absolute time of his life.
"R-really..? T-thank you, Levi." The sudden change from tears of despair to tears of joy and gratitude from Chinatsu... it's almost like... the way my mother was.
...
This isn't the first time this has happened, at least here.
And so, they got dressed. The me here for some reason decided to keep on wearing our old E.U army issued uniform, and he still had his service issued rifle which he slung to his back. Even has the old bayonet, and Pav's Lugr.
They got finished dressing almost the same time, but all the sweat Chinatsu had made her clothes almost transparent. She's also holding down her skirt with a heavy blush and a shy look. Apparently, he didn't bother waiting for her to take her red stockings off, he just tore a hole open...
What the hell is wrong with me? I just thought that... that was hot as hell.
They then made their way down stairs, and went on down the lower floors of Schale until reaching the exit and then the sidewalk and road outside.
"President Hina is already in a critical enough condition. We should take a taxi." Chinatsu said with a tired and saddened tone and expression, as if things could only get worse.
"Nah, that's too slow." The me here said with a confident smirk, slowly walking towards her as she subconsciously took a step back. "It's faster like this!" He said, sweeping Chinatsu off her legs and into a bridal carry with a yelp.
...
If I didn't know any better, then this would've been no doubt sweet.
Before Chinatsu could even let a word out, before she could even process what he just did, he started running. He's fast! Even just on foot, he's overtaking cars.
Almost as fast as... no, it couldn't be. It must be a rat amulet or the Fear and Hunger engraving.
As he sprinted towards the general direction of Gehenna, Chinatsu could only hold on tighter to him. She's squeezing her legs tightly together, most likely to keep her dignity and to prevent her most private parts from being exposed to the public.
"I've always wondered... Levi, how are you so fast?" Chinatsu asked, pulling herself closer to his ears so that he could ear through the wind. "It should be impossible, physically speaking."
"Oh, you know... a lot of scary things. It's enough of a motivation to make me keep on running." The me here said, his smirk and amusement surprisingly not present. "Crawling out of that place... probably made my legs stronger." What the hell is he talking about?
Crawling? That's a word I rarely used in my mind after leaving the frontlines. Why would he even...
When they reached Gehenna, what looks to be the entirety of the Prefect Team had been mobilized. They're standing at rest with their guns.
"Levi... let me down here now, please." Something is off... she hasn't called this me Sensei yet. Maybe he doesn't like the title... or he was never hired as one in the first place.
"Nah, I want everyone to know that you're mine." The more this me speaks, the more I want to shoot his balls off. And without hesitation, he walks past the Academy's entrance great and through the Prefect girls all glaring at me with gritted teeth. As if I were a walking piece of garbage.
"But Sensei, in front of everyone..." So somehow, this fucker managed to convince the blue haired girl to hire him... must be because of Miss Karin's gaslighting skills.
"Let them see." He said with a grin, looking back at some of Hina's girls as they slightly turned their heads to keep glaring. Every step of the way, someone, even some of the troublemakers I recognized from my first visit here was glaring at me.
As I walked with Chinatsu in... no, not me or mine, his hands. Every student in the way glared and bared their teeth before turning around and stomping to somewhere else.
Eventually, we arrived at... what I'm assuming to be the headquarters of Sena's club. It was here that he finally let Chinatsu walk by herself again.
There's a door with a sign above saying it's an emergency room.
"Sensei... that was embarrassing." She said with a shy look leaning her back on a wall, keeping her hands on her skirt pushing it down. I see a trace of my white seed flowing down her stockings left side, reaching as far down as her knee.
"Why? I see nothing to feel ashamed of." The me here said with a smile, leaning over her with one hand pinned beside her head and the other on her chin. "We're just lovers showing off, right?"
"Y-yes... I suppose that's right." The way she's so submissive... why does it remind me so much of-
Interrupting my thoughts was the door to the emergency bolting open, with Sena coming out and turning her head to look at us as she widened her eyes in surprise.
"Chinatsu? And you... why are you here?!" Sena was so calm and reserved when I met her. For her to be this angry, eyes furrowed and teeth gnashing... what the hell did I do here?
"Sena-senpai, he's here to he-"
"Chinatsu! He already tried, didn't he?!" Sena was just barely not screaming, her hands and body trembling in evident rage. Already... tried? Did the me here just lie? Loving Whispers closed the hole in my stomach, it should've been enough to heal whatever wound Hina suffered.
"Y-yes. But he has anothe-"
"And you believed him?! Chinatsu, you didn't... do that again, did you?" This apparently happens a lot here. Hearing Chinatsu defend me so much must've made Sena snap. She screamed the first part, and then whispered the second in a despaired tone. Her eyes... she looks tired, as if she's just given up.
"Yeah, I'd never lie to her." The despicable me here is still smiling, like it doesn't even matter to him. To which Sena just glared at him again.
"Even then... it's already too late." Sena said with a trembling voice, looking down in defeat. "President Hina... she's already flatlined."
"W-what?! But she was stable just... yesterday..."
"Perfect! If it just happened, then I can still use that one spell." The me here doesn't sound concerned in the slightest.
"... Come in then." And so, we did.
Walking inside the room with Sena leading us, I saw Ako seating by Hina with a lot of tubes connected to her hands, arms, chest, and mouth.
Ako... she's staring at Hina's bandage covered face and body with dried tears in her cheeks. I can tell even from this distance. She's not reacting to our entrance, as if in a daze.
Iori turns her head to see me, and almost immediately scowled and started aggressively walking towards me as she turned off her rifles safety.
"Rotten piece of shit. How dare you show your-" Iori stops talking as she probably saw Chinatsu by my, no, his side. Then, her eyes somehow manifested more hate than what she already had. "You... why did you...? We told you to stop seeing him."
"I had to... he's the only one who can save President Hina." Chinatsu said, a mix of hope and uncertainty in her voice.
Hearing that, Ako snapped out of her daze. She turned to look at me with eyes filled with desperation and grief, her mouth trembling as she walked to me.
"Is... that true?" The way Ako said that... her tone and expression... it wouldn't have mattered if she was told no, she would've still begged.
"Yes, Ako." He said with a smile, making her freeze while Iori and Sena looked at me with disdain. "I just need a scalpel." The only one who would have use for that is Doctor Daan, but I didn't kill him. He just... kind of disappeared.
That aside, looking at Hina... she looks horrible. At a closer look, she appears to be... basically scorched all over with reddish skin with some parts being burnt black. I see some slashes and gashes here and there, one of her horns cracked and another broken... no one in Kivotos could've done this...
The only ones who could've done this... no, they wouldn't have any way of reaching Kivotos.
One of the machines connected to her is some kind of screen... A constant hum coming from it with a straight green line in the middle and some numbers on its sides.
"R-really? That's g-great!" Ako exclaimed in delight, looking... crazed as she shed tears of joy. "Well, w-what are we waiting for? President Sena, please prepa-"
"Ako... as much as I want that... President Hina... she's already..." Iori said with a forced calm, her hands shaking as she looked at Ako with concern and pity.
"B-but he just s-sai-"
"Ako... please listen to yourself. You're... not thinking straight, President Hina wou-"
"You don't know what President Hina would've wanted!" Ako shouted, snapping at Iori as tears came flooding out of her eyes. "B-besides... Sensei just s-said that he can save President H-Hina." She whimpered and sobbed out.
"Sensei, p-please forgive I-Iori's behavior. I'm sure s-she didn't mean it." Hearing and seeing the prideful and confident Ako like this, begging with a deranged desperate smile... I swear, if I got ahold of this me...!
"That's fine, Ako. I don't mind a bit."
"T-truly? T-thats's good to hear, S-Sensei." Looking at Iori, she... she's given up on trying to bring Ako back to her senses. I mean, the way Ako is... there's no other way to save her than healing Hina.
"Just a scalpel, you say?" Sena asked, holding a shiny clean tray with a single equally clean and shiny scalpel.
"Yeah, that's all." He said, walking past Ako as she looked on hopefully. Sena leaves the tray with the scalpel on a table by Hina's bedside as she walked past me.
"It better be real. Otherwise, I will tear your feeble manhood off from it's roots and force it down your throat." Sena whispered as she passed me. No, not me, him!
To that, the me here only chuckled at her threat. "First, can I get some space? The first half of the procedure... is gonna freak you all out."
"Letting a deranged bastard do an operation is already enough of a-"
"Sena-senpai, please!"
"... Fine."
And with that, they all backed away farther. In front of the door to the room, all four of them gathered watching on with a mix of hope and hopelessness.
The me here takes the scalpel, bringing it up to his, our eyes as he examined it's edge.
[Precision Stance]
And without even a single ounce of hesitation, he brings the scalpel edge towards his left index finger and swiftly sliced it off. The finger hanging on by a thread of muscle, he pulled it off with his right hand as he dropped the scalpel.
Bringing the severed finger closer to the not breathing Hina, he-
[Magna Medical]
That prayer he's muttering... that's the same prayer Doctor Daan made when Miss Abella was wounded by one of the moonscorched mobs with a buzzsaw. Back then, Doctor Daan offered an entire arm as a prayer to whichever God that spell belonged to.
The wound was so bad that Loving Whispers wasn't enough to completely close her wound back then.
But here in Kivotos, it would've been enough for this wound. Or did he really just not care about Hina... if he really isn't lying, then did the spell somehow not work?
The severed finger starts disintegrating, and Hina's scorched skin starts mending itself. Slowly but surely, the red and black scorched skin of hers healed and showed her clear skin yet still damaged with some cuts.
A sudden beat comes from the machine, the green line shooting up and down and eventually forming a rhythm matching the beat of a pulse or a heart.
Hina's eyes open up with a gasp of shock as her halo appeared, her body bolted up to a sitting position dislodging some of those tubes attached to her. With trembling hands, she slowly takes the mask with a tube on her mouth and she takes some deep rapid breaths.
Her halo... looks damaged and cracked.
"W-where am I? What... what the happened?" The now revived Hina asks, turning her head around anxiously. The beats on the machine, and the line rapidly going off.
"President H-Hina! Y-you're alive!" Ako shouted and cried out in relief, throwing herself at Hina and embracing herself tightly. "Oh, t-thank goodness! I... I couldn't... Hina-san!" She cried and sobbed, with Hina freezing at Ako's embrace.
"I'm fine now, Ako." She said, wrapping her arms around Ako and caressing her head in a comforting way.
"President Hina..." Iori looks on with an expression of disbelief, yet in relief at Hina. "I... we did our best keeping order. The Prefect Team... is in perfect condition, President Hina." She said, straightening her back with a salute. Her tears barely held back.
"I see, that is a relief to know. Ako, Iori, Chinatsu... good job. At ease, Iori."
"T-thank you, President Hina. We... we-"
"Shh, that's fine, Ako. Just rest, I'm back here now."
I'm almost shocked that the me here actually had the decency to let them have peace in their reunion.
"S-see? Like I said, Levi could h-help President Hina." Chinatsu said. The smile on her face, the tone she had... it's like she actually wasn't expecting the me here to follow up on his promise, and so she's crying out in relief that Hina was revived.
"Yes... that's a relief..." Sena said, looking at Chinatsu with worry. Then she turns to me, to keep looking at me like a walking piece of shit.
"Could you all... please leave the room? I need... to have a word with Sensei?" Hina said in between breaths, looking over everyone but me.
"If that is what you wish, Hina-san." Ako said with a smile, turning around and ushering everyone else along with her out of the room.
Chinatsu looks at me with worry and hesitation at the entrance, with the me here smiling and waving towards her. And so, she followed after her friends, the door shutting close.
I hear some shuffling from Hina and he-
Suddenly, I feel something impacting my, his face.
"You... if they weren't here to see, then I would've reduced you to a red paste." She said through gritted teeth, absolute fury in her eyes as I felt something leaking out of his nose. Hina's fist still on it.
The me here... it's like he didn't feel the punch. He didn't move or flinch, just rolled his eyes to look back at Hina as blood dripped down from his nose.
"Ow, I didn't take you for an ungrateful brat, Hina." He told Hina with amusement in his voice in a mocking way. "I offer an entire finger to bring you back to life, and this is the thanks I get?"
"And why should I be grateful?" I wonder how bad was the me here that Hina's not ta- "You're the one who attacked me in the first place!" Huh? This asshole... just how... what happened that he turned out like this?
"Oh? Was I now?" The me here asked in an insulting tone.
The fury in Hina's eyes dissipates, now she's looking at me, him with... pity? And disappointment?
"I can tell... you made Chinatsu dirty herself, didn't you? You already have her in your arms, so why... why go through all of that?" Yeah... there was no need... for all of his elaborate and convoluted plot to bed her!
"Just what are you on, Hina?" The smile and amusement from the me here has disappeared, instead speaking out in irritation.
"We were thankful for you, for bringing back piece back to Kivotos back then." She said, looking down with wet eyes. "So seeing you devolve to... whatever you are now is... is..." Sounds like she can't find a word for the bastard me.
The me here is silent and still, not a smile that I can feel in his face or anything.
"You know... Chinatsu told me... about what she's learned from you... your family." The me here widened his eyes in surprise, body shaking as he gasped in shock. Then, he glared at Hina. "It must be in your blood."
"You... the hell are you saying, Hina?!" He was so full of amusement just earlier, Hina must've hit a nerve.
"Father and son, bastards alike. Right, Levi Jořdán?" Hearing that name... made some memories resurface. Memories of a huge drunk man stomping down on me, hands up trying to defend from his feet in futility as my entire body ached.
The me here's hands bolted towards Hina's neck, grip tightening but with thankfully no effect with her Halos protection. His teeth is grinding at eachother, heart beating faster.
"Levi Jořdán... you don't belong here in Kivotos." Hina said, just looking at him with absolute disappointment. She's not bothering with his hands on her neck squeezing. "Always drinking alcohol, always taking opioids. And a lot of things that are better left unsaid."
The me here opens his mouth, about to shout something until... he just stops. His grip on Hina's neck softens, eventually letting go, pulling back, and... looking at his own shaking hands.
"I want to say that it's never too late, but... I don't think you would even care."
Not even responding to Hina's words, he slowly walks towards the door out the room. He kicks the door open, stomping past Sena, Iori, Ako, and Chinatsu as they looked on in caution.
"Levi, what happened? W-wait for me!" Chinatsu tried to follow after the me here, but sounds like the three with her stopped her.
/
"Sensei, your defense plans held up against the -" The blue haired girl, the General Student Council President... she's here. Whatever she was telling me, I couldn't hear it. It's as if my ears were submerged underwater, her voice being muffled and obscured.
"That... wasn't much, but we at least got some breathing room for now." The President said, across the long table with her at the other side. Numerous empty seats are around the table, with only Rin seated next to me with an uncertain and nervous expression.
Two poles with flags, one bearing the GSC symbol and the other the Schale symbol on each flag on the Presidents sides. This place looks like the GSC headquarters, at least parts of it.
"Sensei, what's the matter? We can't have the only one among us with sufficient enough combat experience in such low morale." She said with an authoritative commanding voice, speaking as if her life depended on it.
"Nothing, just that... I'm kind of an asshole." Oh now he's feeling bad. After all the shit he did just earlier before being here, he's only feeling bad now?!
"Right... anything else?" The President brushed aside, without even a care.
"President! He's already done some damage to some students as he is!" Rin beside me loudly spoke out in a dire desperate tone, bolting up and slamming her hands on the table. "Please! While he's still capable of feeling regret, while he can still reflect on hi-!"
"We don't have time for that, Rinny! We're fighting a war for the survival of Kivotos!" President said, her voice louder than Rin's. The way the President spoke... it's almost like those commanders and officers I served under, uncaring for those under their command.
"Yeah... like Rin said, I shouldn't be here in Kivotos. I'm... already ruining lives." Does the me here really think he deserves to feel that way? A little too late, don't you think?
"You think the lives of a few are worth more than the whole city?" The President coldly said, leaning over me. I still can't see her eyes here, but it's obvious she's looking down on me. At least the me here. "Casualties are inevitable. As a soldier, you should already know that." I see... no wonder she blamed herself so much back in the train.
"In combat, yes! But I'm-"
"Are you questioning me?" The me here freezes at the Presidents words. "Aren't you a little too late to feel that way? I admit, Gehenna was troublesome. Ignoring my commands when Kivotos itself is at stake, but you're the one who proposed to take their strongest out of the picture entirely." Huh?!
"... It was a suggestion, you're the one who gave the command!" Holy shit, these two scum are perfect for eachother.
At our exchange, Rin let out a gasp of disbelief and fear. "President, you didn't..." She muttered, covering her mouth with her hands, eyes wide looking at the President.
"And you're the one who followed through. What an amazing soldier you are, Levi-kun!" She said with a sickening insulting smile and a clap, fully ignoring Rin.
Did the me here... never meet them? Miss Abella, Miss Karin, Mister Marcoh, Doctor Daan, Marina, Olivia... did the Termina he went through somehow happen differently? But how would that even be possible, I'm here! He should've met them, especially Miss Abella!
"... Yes, Ma'am." The me here muttered with his head down.
"What's the matter? Didn't the nurse from the Prefect Team please you enough?" ... She knew...
"President! Why... why are you acting like this?!" Yeah... Rin admired her a lot, even shedding a tear when she read her letter. Seeing her most admired President act like this... must be taxing for her.
"Rinny. Kivotos is in danger of being wiped off the map, we can't afford to be weak in such a time!" She's really speaking like them... the propaganda makers, the commanders and officers, even the tyrants...
The other me must've realized that. He bolted up from his seat, and simply turned around and walked away.
"Tsk, just be back for the next meeting." The President said, her voice grew more silenced the further I got from her.
As I went through the door, I heard another set of footsteps following me.
"Levi-Sensei, may I speak with you?" Rin asked, walking after me as the me here kept on walking, ignoring her.
"What is it?" The me here said, still walking onwards and eventually reaching an elevator which both he and Rin stepped onto.
"It's just... why are you the way you are?" Rin asked, her back turned to me as she's working on the elevator controls.
"Just... everything, honestly." The me here said with a shrug. The elevator door slid closed, and it started descending down the building.
"And no one tried to help you?" Yeah, he should've met the-
"There was this mechanic lady..." So you did meet her! Then how the fuck did you turn out like this?! "She tried to help me, but... no good deeds go unpunished and all that poetic nonsense." ...
... ... ...
... ... ...
"I see... then what would she think if she saw you now?"
"Eh... she'd probably bash my skull open." The me here said with a bitter chuckle, his eyes wetting slightly.
"Of course, I would too." Rin is saying that, but I can still feel the pity and disappointment in her voice. "When we first met, you were so soft and meek, shy even. Just what happened?"
"I guess... I was done with being pushed around and stomped all the time. After the last time, I didn't want to be left hanging even once anymore. If someone dangled something I wanted infront of me, I'd take that persons hand along with it." So someone offered him something? Was it the power and authority the President offered? No, he's still serving under her here.
Did he get this offer back in Prehevil? If so, then from who? Oh... don't tell me he-!
"I see... so you were capable of opening up all this time." Why is that the first thing Rin decided to bring up?!
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?!" The me here questioned in irritation. The elevator rung as it stopped moving, the doors sliding open.
"Levi-Sensei, if you opened yourself up more, and I don't mean in a literal sense, then you will feel more at ease." Rin said, turning her head and showing... a soft smile in her face. "It's never too late for improvement, especially for someone as capable as you are." And with that, she stepped out the elevator and onto where ever she's needed.
/
The me here went back to his office in Schale with a bottle of vodka in hand. He opened up the bottle and drank a quarter, now he's... he's just staring at it while hunched on his seat.
The vodka bottle on the table, and his phone infront of it showing a photo of him and... Chinatsu with a sweet cheerful smile, their arms wrapped around eachother. Conveniently, the lable on the vodka bottle is covering his face on the photo.
Good, I wouldn't want to see his disgusting face as well.
He's been like this for a little while now, staring at the bottle and occasionally putting a hand on it. He tilts the bottle towards himself, and then away from himself as his eyes stayed focused on the photo of Chinatsu with a lovely smile.
They... they must've been happy together, yet his stupid ass somehow managed to ruin everything.
Anyway, that went on for a while. Tilting the bottle away from and towards himself like a pendulum. The sunlight in the surroundings moved from one place to another agonizingly slow.
At a time like this, Arona and Reila would start talking... where are they?
And then eventually, he tilted the bottle away from himself. He pushed it down to it's sides, letting the liquid pour out and down the table. His phone dropped to it's front, sparing me from looking at his no doubt horrid face.
He sighed tiredly. "What am I doing with my life?" Oh, now he's asking himself that?! "I... I need to fix myself." So he was capable of that... why?! Why are you only thinking about doing that now?!
It's frustrating, infuriating that he's only just thinking about doing that now.
His phone starts ringing, he reaches over it and immediately answers as it showed Shiroko's name.
"Sensei! Ayane... they're pulling her life support!" Shiroko desperately cried out through the phone, followed by whimpers and the sound of a heavy rain starting coming from both the phone and outside.
"N-now?! Fine, tell me which hospital she's in. I'm rushing over there as fast as I can!" The me here shouted to the phone, sounding genuinely in distress. Somehow.
"Thank you, Levi-Sensei." Shiroko said with a sob, then she gave the directions to hospital where Ayane is. Then, she hung up. Saying something about a job.
The me here then takes some deep relaxing breaths, and then he stands u-
I feel something touching the back of his head, followed by a switch being flipped... it's a guns safety switch.
"Good day to you... Sensei." That voice... Kayoko? Hearing her voice and no doubt feeling the gun that's point blank in his head, he turns slightly to look at Kayoko. Her eyes... it's filled with misery and hatred... she's been crying. "So... how's your day?" She asked with a forced calm, her mouth trembled as she spoke.
"Kayoko... what is it?"
"Sensei... answer the damn question." Mutsuki? That imp with a mischievous aura to her... she's not here to play around, just from her tone... I can tell she's as angry as Kayoko is. "Did it feel good? Using that Prefect higher up like a piece of meat?" Just being reminded of that makes me want to...!
"Sensei..." Aru spoke up with her head down, her footsteps echoing as she walked into view... she's holding Haruka's trench gun. Her eyes are hidden by her hair. Her mouth is shaking, as if about to cry.
"Problem Solver... where's Haruka?"
Hearing that question, or Haruka's name. Aru stiffened up, eyes wide and watering as she shook her head left and right.
"She overdosed."
... ... ...
... ...
...
The me here... his hands trembled, his breath hitched, his heart skipped a beat.
"Haruka... was a cute and shy girl... she wasn't doing anything bad." Aru said in between sobs, she slowly brought her head up. Her eyes full of grief, cheeks still with traces of dried tears. "You... she talked so highly of you..."
"The last weeks... Haruka-chan was so happy and giddy... after she met you." Mutsuki said, baring her teeth as she looked at me with absolute scorn in her eyes. "She refused to tell us why... only that it was her secret."
"You're supposed to be a teacher..." Kayoko muttered out through gnashing teeth, then came a silent whimper. She cried aloud, her cheeks being stained wet by the tears flowing down. "So why?! Why did you...?"
"Kayo-"
Without letting him finish, Kayoko whipped him in the head with her pistol. He, most likely out of habit and instinct, smacked Kayoko's hand away as he reached out to-
Boom!
Loudly echoed out a shell being fired. And in a split second, I saw as his right arm was torn apart by lead pellets going through it faster than the blink of an eye.
Blood splattered across the room and some on Kayoko's black hoodie, the arm barely holding on by a few strands of flesh. Eventually, from all the swinging, the remaining piece of flesh holding the arm gave out and it plopped down the ground.
The me here... didn't react even the slightest to his arm being blown off... it's like he didn't feel the pain, not even a wince.
The me here turned his head left and right, looking at the remaining three of the Problem Solver 68 group.
"You... I, we pitied you. But you proved to be a horrible person." Aru said, slowly breaking into weeping as she sobbed and stuttered her words out. "What you and the GSC President are doing to Kivotos, what you did to that Prefect member... what you did to Haruka... I wanted her to stay away from you, yet... she was at her happiest talking about her time with you... after she came back from hanging out with you..."
...
...
...
"So... what do you have to say for yourself?"
The me here takes a deep breath, his left arm moving over to cover whatever remained of his right arm to lessen the bleeding.
"Bitch! How is it my fault if she kept smoking without me?!" This me... he would've been better if he moonscorched!
Boom! Boom!
With Haruka's trench gun, she blew his legs off. Some parts of flesh and bone barely connecting to eachother, then with a kick from Kayoko he fell down the ground landing on his three blown off limbs. Again, not even a wince or a yelp of pain. This isn't normal, adrenaline never masked that much pain before.
And with that, Aru simply turns away and starts walking. Same with Kayoko who walked past me. But Mutsuki... she's fiddling with her bag, I hear some beeps coming from it.
Then, she hurls it across the room, turning around to walk away with her friends.
"If that doesn't kill you, then I don't know what will." Mutsuki said aloud, absolute disgust and hatred obvious in her tone.
"W-wait... I'm s-sorry! I didn't mean it!" The me here loudly and pathetically begged, futilely dragging himself with his left and only arm towards the three. "I don't... I don't want to go back to that place! Please! I don't want to meet that thing again!" Cry and beg all you want, nothing will save you.
Kayoko and Mutsuki both went away without even looking back, and Aru stopped to give me- no, him one last glance before she followed after her friends.
As he kept crawling, I caught a glimpse of a reflection of his face on Schale's window walls... blue. The left side of his face is scorched blue...
Mutsuki's bag of explosives detonated, the flames and it's shockwave reaching the me here as he screamed. His skin and flesh were torched and obliterated by both, the yellow and orange of the flames was all that could be seen. His internal organs were ruptured, the bones and skull being crushed from the explosions force.
The flames then dissipated, and suddenly... what is this hellish place?! Everywhere I look, there's flames burning orange and... blue. Somehow. An overwhelming stench like that of rotten eggs fills my nose.
What... is that thing?
It's head looks like some kind of hammer, there's a single hole where it's eyes would be. It has scorched skin and flesh, and no limbs... just a pitiful torso. From the hole in its face comes a tongue... it's just wiggling around.
Everything is burning. The open wounds from this me's limbs being blown off were cauterized shut, his skin and flesh burned and obliterated from Mutsuki's explosives burned even further.
That thing in front of me... it's a God... the crushing, oppressive atmosphere... the otherworldly unseen weight crushing me... it's a God.
This is no mere traces like the Rher I faced... this is somehow the real deal... blue flames... blue on this me's face...
This is the Sulfur God...
I feel the me here start screaming and whimpering, throwing his body as he started... desperately dragging... himself... away... still screaming as he... did.
Hate... coming from the pitiful scorched God, feeble and pathetic unlike his followers. I can feel absolute hate and malice radiating from that thing...
Hate! Hate! Hate! Hate! Hate! Hate! I shouldn't be here! Why?! Why was I left here?! I did nothing wrong! I should've ascended with him, so why am I here?!
So much fury coming from that thing... I can feel what it wants, I can hear it speak even without a mouth, even when my eardrums ruptured from the explosion. His will and anger... it's starting to get into my head!
...
...
...
I mean... yeah, I shouldn't have suffered the way I did...
My squad and I... back there... the only thing we had was suffering and death... yet there were many more other kids who couldn't have cared less...
I can't accept that... why? Why did we have to face so much hardships while they didn't have to?!
They ought to be thrown down here with us! They don't deserve the comfort in their lives! They haven't earned it!
That's right! I don't have to pretend any more, I don't have to hold back any more! I'll take whatever I want!
Be it pain or pleasure, It's all mi-
My thoughts went blank as I felt two pair of hands grabbing me by my sides and lifting me up.
I try turning my head to see who's lifting me as they broke to a sprint, most likely to the way out of here.
To my right, I see... a huge curly haired man in an olive jacket... teeth gritted as he focused on his path. His eyes turned to look at me... then, he forced a reassuring smile on his face before refocusing on his path.
Mister Marcoh?
To my left is... that hat with a gold eagle... that uniform... that sly smirk... Pav?
His smirk disappeared for a moment as he looked at me, and then he smirked again, mouthing something that I couldn't hear with my still ruptured eardrums.
I'm not good at lip reading, but... I think he said-
"It's supposed to be Lieutenant, boy!"
The scenery of that burning place disappeared as they kept on running while carrying me, now... it's just pure darkness.
I think... I'm hearing something.
"en... ake... up!"
I couldn't hear it clearly, but... it's like those voices are slowly getting louder...
"Sens- et... up!"
"Ke... up... al... Lev..."
/
"Wake up already, Sensei!" Arona shouted in a physical form, shoving and shaking my body as she looked on in distress. "Ah, Sensei! Thank goodness!" She exclaimed in relief.
"Levi! What happened?!" Reila loudly asked in worry, grabbing me by the shoulders and pulling me up to a sitting position.
I ignore the both of them, breathing heavily as if my lungs were out of breath with my heart just racing. I jump out of bed, reaching out for my bag and grabbing my looted box of tobacco.
Opening it up and taking one out, I bring it to my mouth as I casted-
Always drinking alcohol, always taking opioids.
She overdosed
Remembering those words from my nightmare, I instinctually threw the stick of tobacco away, landing somewhere in the room that I can't see.
"Sensei, just what kind of nightmare did you have?" Arona asked in a tone of absolute worry, leaning closer to me as she floated.
"Arona... it's better if you don't ask." Reila said, as if she knows what's going on. "Yeah, I do."
"Why? As Levi-Sensei's secretary, I deserve to know!"
"You don't. It's... something that anyone from Kivotos shouldn't know, Arona." She's a stubborn kid, so she's probably not gonna listen to me.
"I see... it's something from where you two came from?"
"Yeah, better to leave that thing to us." Reila told- no, warned Arona going by the expression she had.
"No!" Came the loud and pretty much expected reply from Arona. "If Sensei is hurting, then I have to know why!" She loudly declared, putting a hand on her heart.
"Arona, this isn't something we can talk abo-!"
"Stop treating me like I'm defenseless! If I wanted to, I could bring down Kivotos with just a flick of my finger!" Arona shouted in indignation, her halo turning red as she interrupted Reila.
"... It's up to him, then." Reila said with a sigh as she gestured to me, turning her head away and sitting down on the bed next to me.
"... Just a dumb nightmare, nothing too important." I'm not talking about... all that stuff.
"Really now?" Yes, Arona. I mean it. "And what was that nightmare about?" I could tell her... or I could just not... but...
"Is there something you haven't told us yet, Arona?" Her resolute pout morphs into a confused expression as she heard my words. "Do you really not know where the GSC President is?"
"Huh? I... already told you, Sensei. I've got absolutely nothing on her." Really now? Then can you tell why you resemble her so much? I mean, you even have the same pink underside in your hair! "Sensei... I really mean it! That's... probably just a coincidence!" Arona yelled out, hands forming fists as it shook up and down while she glared and pouted at me.
...
"Fine, I dreamt of the GSC President... and myself." Seriously, how... do I even start with that? I'm not just gonna tell them I had Chinatsu bend over and spread her legs for me... oh goddamnit.
"The GSC President and naughty time with Chinatsu-san..." Arona muttered aloud, eyes squinted and hand on her chin as if in deep thought. "Well... that explains all the convulsions you had in your sleep." ... Actually, yeah. Let's just leave it at that.
"Yeah, just like the creation process of an Ascended God. Kivotos doesn't need to know about Sulfur."
I breath a sigh of relaxation as I heard Reila agreeing with me in my mind.
"Anyway, it's about time I sign up for citizenship. Don't you think? Now that I can maintain my physical form?" Yeah, we're also getting you a job or something.
/
Rin P.O.V
It was going to be a long day of paperwork and whatnot... it's probably going to be a longer day than usual.
I thought as I handed Reila-san the paperwork she needed to fill up for citizenship, basic essential information to include such as her full name, date and place of birth. Her being from outside Kivotos, that's all that she can offer without her identification papers at hand.
"I was a university graduate back home, won't that count for something?" Reila-san said, bringing her head up to look at me as she wrote her name on the citizenship application. You... you're reading my mind. "Right, sorry!" That is fine, we are both women here.
"Unless you have a certificate or papers proving you indeed graduated college, that is but a mere statement." It might be harsh, but there can be no preferential treatment in this line of work. Reila-san's head drooped down as she let out a small noise of disappointment.
Reila Aubrey Haas, is what she wrote as her full name. Born in the Bremen Empire, I think Levi-Sensei said this country invaded his hometown. Birthdate, 1922...
"Reila-san, the year is 2021."
"Oh, right. Sorry." She then erased and corrected it to 2001. They're not really that much older than us.
Both Levi-Sensei and Reila-san arrived a few minutes ago, turning some heads and catching some eyes as many GSC workers realized that she didn't have a halo.
There's also the matter of those hundred or so dropouts or expelled students in Kaiser PMC uniform that were sighted following him inside the Schale building earlier... and the Red Winter newspapers saying that Sensei was basically one of them, and that he would support them if they launched an attack on Gehenna...
"Oh, that? The E.U army salute was apparently a little too similar to their salute. I don't know how Cherino came to that conclusion." Levi-Sensei... your explanation is appreciated, but please get out of my head. "R-right, sorry." And what about those girls in Kaiser PMC uniform?
"They were hired back in Red Winter for a coup, of course they were beaten but they were an effective fighting force." And you plan to make them your own fighting force? "No, I'm having them enroll to Abydos. That and they have training and equipment, it's better than letting them stay as strays to be picked up by Gods know who." I see.
"Done, what now Rinny?" Said Reila-san, putting down the pen and looking to me for answers.
"Bring that application to Ayumu, she should be right around the corner. She'll process that and print you an I.D." I informed her calmly of the next steps to becoming an official citizen of Kivotos.
"Ok, will do." And off she went towards Ayumu's general direction.
"Guess I'm going too. Later then, Ri-"
"Not yet. We still have some things to talk about, Levi-Sensei." He stops, looking at me for a moment before taking a seat where Reila-san was just a few seconds ago.
"What is it?" Levi-Sensei asks, blinking his eyes as he rubbed it. Dark circles in his eyes, he hasn't slept yet I see. I mean, dealing with a coup overnight would be tiresome I imagine.
"Schale is already suspiciously powerful with just you, the Administration Board will most likely not be pleased with you taking former Kaiser PMC personnel under your wing."
"They're enrolling into Abydos. That means one more academy that can offer their support to the GSC if needed, right?"
Hmm, he's somewhat knowledgeable on this level of political matters but-
"That is a valid explanation, yet the Administration Board will not be pleased with such a simple answer."
"What part of that simple explanation wouldn't they get?" He asks with irritation in his voice which raised slightly in volume. "Or are they just gonna ignore it?" Hmm, frowned upon as that is, it is still a tactic used in more complicated politics.
"Oh, come on." He groaned out as he hunched over.
"You spent quite some time with Abydos, they could interprete that as a form of favoritism or... it could be that you are enhancing the force capabilities of Schale."
"Why would the-? Don't I work for you guys? I mean, you're the one paying me. Right, Rin?"
"Be that as it may, it does not change the fact that you can rival my, our, the GSC's power and authority." I can understand how frustrating this must be for Sensei, but he is going to be dealing with these matters sooner or later. Better to learn now than to be too late.
Hmm, who's that at the door? That lizard tail, that pink hair... a broken piece of a pollock roe crackers...
"Momoka! Why are you here?" Seriously! Skipping her work in broad daylight!
"Yup, yup!" She loudly affirmed, walking out of hiding and into my room with a cracker wrapping in her hands. "I heard that Sensei was here, and I can hear that you have some problems with proving something to the Administration Board." That lousy smile she has...
"Oh, the lazy one?" Levi-Sensei said, turning his head slightly back and seeing Momoka.
"Uh-huh!" She eagerly cheerfully nodded at Sensei's words, taking a piece handful of crackers out of its wrapping and onto her mouth. "But I'll have you know, I still do my fair share of work ya know?" She somehow spoke clearly, sounds of cracking and munching resonating with her voice.
"Yes, and you still have a lot of work to do. Chief of Transportation."
"I know, that's why I came here for Sensei." Hmm, if she's- "And no, I'm not just dumping my work on him." Oh? Hearing that, I give her a wave of my hand, gesturing for her to go on with her plan.
"Those troublemakers in Kaiten Ranger dress up are back at it again, disrupting the rail lines along with some other delinquents somewhere in the Gehenna-Abydos border." Oh, so she is dumping her workload on him.
"... The hell is a Kaiten Ranger? Anyway, what are you having me do?" At Levi-Sensei's words, Momoka's face darkened slightly.
"... Not knowing about the masterpiece that is the Kaiten Ranger series should be heresy, but... eh." She dismissively shrugged off. "The GSC's problems are basically everyone's problems, rail lines being disrupted means-"
"Travel, supplies, resources, and trade getting delayed, halted, or looted. I already know, you don't have to tell me."
"Yeah, that saves a lot from having to be explained! Anyway, what I'm suggesting is to deal with those troublemakers using your mercenaries. Well, former mercenaries. Show the Board of Directors that they can be of use." ... Clever little-! She found a way to dump her workload on Sensei in a way that I would approve. "Some Valkyrie personnel will be accompanying you to make the arrests."
"... Is that all? Easy enough then, but we still need a ride there." Levi-Sensei said with a sigh, cracking his neck left and right with his eyes closed before standing up.
"I'm the Chief of Transportation! I'll set up a ride for you and your troops, Sensei. Ciao, Rin-Chan-Senpai!" Momoka let out a sigh of satisfaction, glancing over me as she waved goodbye.
"One last thing before I leave, Rin. What was the President like?" Hmm, I guess he would like to know more about his employer.
"The President, she... was goofy." Yes, she was that for a lack of a better term. Thinking, reminiscing about my time with President... had my lips curl up to a smile. "Irresponsible, lazy, she was always doing things on a whim but... it all somehow worked out in the end."
"I see... is that all? Well, off I go then. See you later, Rin."
"Yes, take care now Sensei." And with that, we waved eachother goodbye.
Well, as long as it all works out in the end... I suppose I can let it go.
Taking my office telephone with one hand, punching in numbers with my other hand, I brought the telephone up to my ears hearing the ringing and waiting for the other side to pick up.
"Yes, Acting President? I just finished printing an I.D for Haas-san."
"Ayumu, could you print a hundred or so GSC branded armbands?"
"R-right now?! Well, there are still a sizable stockpile somewhere..." That's good enough I suppose.
/
Reila and I went back to Schale, calling Madoka and her friends out along with her company with guns slung in their backs.
Rin had me drag a small box of white and blue armbands on the way back here, while Reila carried another which she was about to start distributing but-
"Attention!" I shouted, as loud as I could. The girls in uniform, wether they were sitting or standing chatting, all stiffened and then straightened their backs and posture as they faced towards me.
Same with their four leaders with Sayaka not registering my order for a second and Madoka letting out a confused noise before snapping their posture into attention. Seriously, how did they even find themselves in Kaiser?
Hmm, looks like there's little to no cars or whatnot taking the road infront of Schale.
"Formation, now! Behind me!"
"Yes sir!" And so, they all rushed past me as I turned to watch them getting into an organized formation still standing in attention.
Finally, they finished with Tomoe, Homura, Sayaka, and Madoka at the front.
"You four, what are your ranks?"
"Sir, Kaiser PMC never used official military ranks, sir!" Mami reported, speaking for her friends. Hmm, I see.
"Everyone except the four officers, count-!" I shouted and paused, waiting for the infantry girls to turn their heads left and right in each line. Hmm, it would've been awkward if they didn't know about that specific command. "-Off!" I continued the second half of the order.
"One!"
"Two!" And so on and so fort.
"Is all of that really necessary?" Reila asked behind me, then dropping the box of armbands she was carrying.
"Yeah, I wanted to get an idea of how they were trained." To which commands they will respond to, how they are structured, all of that stuff.
"I also called Kyouko and Mikhail, they'll be here any moment now." One of their friends? And that automaton brigade commander? How many of those girls did you count back there? "I think there were... at least 20." At least?
"112!"
"113!"
"114! Sir! 114 is the last number, sir!" Shouted out the girl in the far right of the back line, followed by a salute.
"At ease, recruit." I said, saluting her back.
"Sir, thank you, sir!" She loudly said, bringing her arm down the same time I did.
"That's a lot of sirs." Yeah, we said that a lot in the army. And I mean a lot, Reila. "Oh, looks like they're here." I turn over to look at where Reila is pointing, a transport truck with two automatons on the front and uniformed girls in the back.
The automaton on the passenger seat opens up the door, stepping out as he shut it close slinging his gun, the same one as Minori's, to his back. He has the Logic's sigil painted green in his chest. Does her followers all have that tattoo? Or painting?
"Yes, Sensei of Schale. We painted this symbol on ourselves, to differentiate ourselves from those still under Decagrammaton." The automaton brigade commander, as Reila said his position to be, said as he made a hand motion to his chest with the symbol. "It is a pleasure to officially meet you, I am Automaton #9373. You may call me Mikhail." He said with a small bow.
"I'm Levi of Prehevil." I introduced myself back in kind, offering my hand to shake. It doesn't feel as cringey when I'm not thinking about it.
He took my hand with both of his, and shook it gently but with eagerness that even coming from a machine, I could feel it was heartfelt.
"Yo! So you're one of those strict military types, huh? Sensei of Schale?" The girl with red hair tied to a ponytail said with a crass tone. She has a red halo with pointy- I think those are small spears around it. She's in dessert pattern uniform like her friends, and she has a trench gun with a really, and I mean really big bayonet. It's halfway into being a sword by itself. "Oh, come on. You really need to do all this?" She, Kyouko, asked motioning towards her friends still standing in attention.
"... And you are?"
"Sakura Kyoko, reporting for duty." Hmm...
[Intimidation]
"Reporting for duty, what?" I said, removing any traces of any discernible emotion from my tone as I leaned closer down to her height and glared.
"Uhmm, r-reporting for duty, sir!" She corrected herself, fixing her posture and straightening her body. Hmm, looks like the other girls with her already stood at attention.
Let's see, one, two, three... twenty two excluding Kyouko herself. Right.
"Merge formation. Kyouko Platoon."
"Sir, yes sir!" And so, they all rushed to extend the line with the other fours company with Kyouko joining the line with her fellow officers.
"Before I hand all of you over to your new school, you're all still under me!"
"Sir, yes sir!" Hmm, I shouldn't have paused there.
"You will be boarding a train graciously prepared by the GSC Chief of Transportation-" Shit, I never got her full name.
"I think it's Yuragi Momo-"
Thanks, Reila.
"Yuragi Momoka, to engage and subdue hostiles seeking to disrupt trade, travel, resource allocation, and whatnot that is vital to the stability of Kivotos!"
"... Wait, wha-"
"Sir, yes sir!"
"Levi, isn't that a little too exaggerated to say?" I don't think so, Reila. As a college graduate and genius, you should already know how important rail networks and trains are. "Well, yeah but... your just giving Kronos a lot of ridiculous things they can report on." Fair point.
"Turn to the left-" Pausing and giving them a second to process and prepare for the full order, some of them prematurely turned to the left... Kyouko, an officer, included.
"Eh, huh?" The confused noises from those few who turned came as they looked at their comrades who stayed still.
"Now!" And with that, the entire company turned to the left. Perfectly snappy, focusing their weight on one foot on its heels while the other foot pushed and turned the their body left.
"The armbands."
"Oh, right." Reila said, opening up the boxes and using, definitely, magic to fly and distribute it to the company of uniformed girls.
... Hmm.
"Alright, forget official orders. Just march to the station already, make sure to stay in your lines."
"Sir, yes sir!" And so, they marched- well, not marched but walked in an orderly fashion.
Luckily for us, the traffic of cars and other vehicles was for some reason not present in the roads we were walking in as those were blocked by Valkyrie police girls.
Unlucky are the people, machines and animal people as well as other students stopping what they're doing to look at the company of uniformed personnel. Then at me, and then at Reila and Mikhail.
"Uhm... people without haloes shouldn't be anything special, right?" Reila asked softly as some people with their phones out flashed, a feature of its camera function.
"Well, outsiders to Kivotos, that are mostly humans without halos, have never been sighted in person until Levi appeared." Mikhail explained, marching along with us. From his posture, I can feel some form of pride.
"In person?"
"I mean outside of movies, Reila." Huh, then... how are movies here made if there are no humans? I mean, automatons and animal people are here but I've caught some glimpses of movies with normal humans in it here. "You've noticed?" Why do you say it like it's such a big deal?
"It's something my former employers business partner was talking about, that man in a black suit. I overheard him talking about... I'm not sure, but I am certain that it was something along those lines. Everytime I start thinking about it, it's like... my memory just turns off."
"... Let's just say it's nothing important."
"Huh? Bu-!"
"Ignore it, Reila!"
"A-alright, sure."
/
It took a little while to reach the train station, the train Momoka prepared for us looked like a shipping train. Well, it at least fits us I guess. And now we're on our way to the apparent Gehenna-Abydos border.
Four Valkyrie police girls in the back, looking around nervously. I mean, yeah. Being surrounded by armed scary looking people will have most acting like that.
We got a lot of attention on the way, but no one interrupted us or anything. They just watched and took photos or videos.
"Say, how'd you girls end up with Kaiser anyways?" Reila asked, holding on to a window frame as she's not adjusted to the trains rapid movements.
"Well, most girls here are from smaller academies. They either got expelled for reasons, or dropped out." Mami said in a tone of pity, looking over the girls in helmets and face masks. Their heads downed st Mami's explanation.
"How about you five?" I ask, barely keeping myself up from the train moving really fast.
"We used to be at Trinity, and Kyouko at Gehenna." Interesting.
"We weren't expelled or anything like that." That so, Madoka? Then how are you girls here now?
"Those damn Trinitards are judgmental hypocrites, that's why." Homura said with a frown, eyes hardening as she looked out the window. "The only thing they ever did was talk down to who they deemed as commoners, or lessers in the case of Gehenna." The Trinity students I've met weren't anything like that.
"Well, you've met Hasumi, Vice President of the JTF, right?" Yeah, what about it, Sayaka? "They said she was the most hateful of troublemakers, that she hated Gehenna so much that even the nobles would shudder whenever she expressed it." Really now? I find that hard to believe.
"She got along with Hina, Ibuki, Chinatsu well, it's like they were best friends. Sisters even." I shuddered slightly at the mentions of their names except Ibuki's, the memories from that nightmare still fresh in my mind.
"Huh? Legit?!" That's... an entire sentence condesced into one word. Hmm, why did she just start smirking? "Or maybe you're just saying that to get on her good side? I mean, I would too! Even if I'm a girl, her huge milk ju-"
"Yes, Sayaka. Hasumi-san is much more than those rumors, I used to be under her in the JTF." Mami said with a sigh, probably from hearing about Hasumi like that.
"So, again. How did you girls end up in Kaiser." This time, it's me asking.
"Well, Mami kept insisting on seeing me, a filthy Gehenner, and her schoolmates didn't like that about her." Kyouko said with a self deprecating laugh, followed by her looking down as if in regret. "She's a dummy like that." She muttered out.
"They saw Madoka as a commoner, and I didn't like that they targeted her."
"Yeah, there's no point in attending a huge academy if they're just gonna harass me and my friends." Homura and Sayaka said, the former with a glare and the latter with a care free smile.
"And you, Kyoko?"
"Well, Mami was chased out of Trinity because of me and... well, I couldn't just leave her alone."
"And... well, Kaiser PMC was the only one hiring with somewhat decent wages." Madoka said with a small smile.
Despite their unfortunate circumstances, they're smiling and laughing together. That's... a pretty sight.
I feel my phone vibrating in my pants. Taking it out, I see Momoka's name as I answer.
"Be advised, Sensei. You've arrived at the mission site."
"Right, thanks." Sounds like that's all she needed to say as she hung up in an instant as the train skidded to a stop.
"We're here! Time to dismount!" I shouted, hopefully loud enough for the girls in the other train cars to hear.
One of them pulled both doors in each side open, the infantry all dismounted first as they took on positions and aimed their guns outwards.
Then Mami, Kyouko, and Sayaka dropped down the train. Mami switched her rifles safety off, followed by Kyouko cocking her trench gun and Sayaka unsheathing her sabers and attaching it's sheaths to her load bearing equipment. As for Homura and Madoka, they already disappeared.
"Is Abydos close by?"
"Yeah, just a five minutes walk away." Good, then you bring Mikhail over there Reila. "Huh? We can't watch?" Hmm?
"Yes, I am interested as well in your tactics, Se-" Mikhail, it feels really weird being called Sensei by people my senior. "I see, Levi then. Kaiser PMC tactics were bare bones, I want to see what I could learn from a proper soldier."
"Sure, I guess."
And so, I dropped down with the two other adults following me out of the train.
They've all dismounted already, some on one knee with their weapons up and aiming while some are advance and taking ground.
I see Mami tilting her head down to... I think that's a small radio attached to a strap on her shoulder.
"Is that so, Homura?" She said to the radio as some noises came from it. Hmm, are those two doing reconnaissance? Ask them how many, and where the hostiles are, as well as if there are other paths that can be used on the way. "Right, Sensei." And so, Mami repeated my questions to Homura through the radio.
"She said that there were at least 30, the Kaiten Ranger cosplayers included." I still don't know what a Kaiten Ranger is, and I certainly don't know what a cosplay is. "... Right, as for the terrain and environment, she will be sending pictures.
"Just what kind if place did you come from, Sensei? You act modern... ish, but cosplay's still not a thing back home?" Sayaka asked with a single raised brow from confusion.
"That's a little rude of you, Sayaka. For all we know, Sensei's home could be using different calendars." Mami sternly scolded. Looking around, the foot soldiers probably won't hear us from this far. Reila and Mikhail are looking around.
"What year was it... back in your world?" I whispered aloud, lowering my body to their height.
"Before we were sent here, 2012." Mami said with a hum. Huh, so not that far off from Kivotos.
"It was 1942 where I came from." Now that I think about it, is their worlds 1940s or first great war years also the same with big wars? Homura said that their Europa worshipped a Christian God. Other than that, I have no idea if that's their Alll-Mer or if there are other Gods or religions in their world.
"1942?! I t-thought it would be the 1990s or something!" What's so shocking about that, Mami? Is it because of how far past it is, or... were there also terrible shit going on in your worlds Europa? "Well, yes... the second war in Europe have been going on for a while, the second Sino-Japanese war was already going on for a while, and our country back then decided to attack the U.S for whatever reason." Interesting... Sino? Japanese? U.S? Oh, the Vinland nation in that game.
"Oh, Sino means China. The biggest country in Asia. With Japan, an island nation, being our homeland." Sayaka clarified with a raised hand, as if she were in a class with me... being somehow the student. Wait, aren't those the nation names I saw playing... what was it? Ah, that's right, Call of Duty? "Yo- eh? You learned about those names from Call of Duty?!" Sayaka incredulously exclaimed, with Kyoko covering her mouth as she struggled to contain her laughter.
"Yeah, back home it was Xuanyuan, the Edo Kingdom, and the Vinland colonies."
"Right... parallel worlds and all that."
"That's enough of that, Madoka already sent photos." Mami said, swiping and tapping as she took out her phone. "Here, Sensei. How will we be engaging?" She asked, showing me a huge view of the place from a building... what the hell are those five wearing?
They're wearing some sort of... bodysuit with some kind of food taped to their heads, they're a colorful bunch like the magical girls as they called themselves. Red for Kyoko, pink for Madoka, blue for Sayaka, yellow for Mami, and black for Homura.
Let's see... one's armed with a rotary machinegun like Nonomi's, a rocket propelled grenade like Momiji's, one with a normal assault rifle, another with a sniper rifle, and... I can't tell what black is using.
"Are those weirdos cosplayers? Are those the so called Kaiten Rangers?"
"Yeah... coming from the 1940s, that has to be quite a sight for you, Sensei." Sayaka said, looking over Mami's phone from my right.
"Kind of... just yesterday, I saw a maid armed with a-" Hmm, my phone is ringing again.
"What is it, Rin?"
"The Administration Board is watching, they want to see if those former mercenaries are an effective fighting force by themselves. They don't want you giving tactical orders or using your magic to assist them?" Well, it only makes sense to seek proof that they're gonna be, if needed, supplying or funding this force in the future.
"Is that all? Can I at least give them their objectives?" I don't know if that Administration Board knows or cares about the difference, bu-
"... One of them just pointed out that orders and objectives are synonymous with eachother."
"Obviously, you think the Eastern Union high command just sent us out without a written specific objective to accomplish?"
"Point taken, is what they said. That is all, you may issue those objectives. We will be watching." Seriously, where are you girls watching from? "Pardo- oh, right. We have satellites for that, stationed in the space. Well, just in the planets orbit." What the fuck? Well, this is the future I suppose.
I thought as I looked up the sky, then immediately averted my gaze as the bright sunlight assaulted my eyes.
"Anyway, bye Rin."
"Sensei... when in a formal occasion, please refer to me either as Acting President or Chief Administrator." She sounds annoyed.
"Understood, Acting President." And with that, she hung up.
I went back to looking at the map in Mami's phone as she, Kyoko, and Sayaka all looked at me waiting.
"Before I start, did Homura and Madoka leave their platoons by themselves?"
"They're really not supposed to lead, they were just trusted with those positions." Is that so, Mami?
"Then their squads will merge with Sayaka's and Kyouko's platoons." I said, to which the both of them nodded. "Kyoko and Homura platoon objectives will be to occupy... this positions." I paused to point at a place before finishing my sentence.
"While Sayaka and Madoka platoons will do the same... here." I pointed at another place in the map opposite the road the enemies are in.
"Eh? That's... you want us to run around the town?" Yes, Sayaka. Any questions? "Well, you're the soldier after all, Sensei."
"And Mami, you're to engage. That is all." Mami was leading their defense back in the Red Winter Secretariat building, so she has more sense in the tactics department than most of Kivotos. She should be able to-
"I see." Figure it out. "Well, what are we waiting for then? Organize and merge your squads with Homura's and Madoka's like Sensei said, we're advancing." Mami said, repeating my order to them as they began doing just that.
"Sensei, did they allow kids..." Mami shuddered, pausing her words. "To become commanders or such?" No, I was made a squad leader I think... two years ago, and I just got promoted to Sargeant a few weeks before I deserted.
"I see." She said with a blink, turning around to address her platoon as they began advancing.
"Platoon? Not a squad?" Mikhail asked aloud, observing as they began moving out.
"Squads are smaller, not even reaching near twenty men."
"I see, and those objectives you gave them? I heard Sayaka complaining about running around the town? I mean, she did complain lots along with Kyouko back in Kaiser." Eh, kids are like that I guess.
"You'll see what the objectives are supposed to accomplish, Mister Mikhail." He's older than me, and he isn't even remotely close to being an asshole. I should address him more respectfully.
"Remember the satellites Rin was talking about?" Reila asked, looking straight up the sky. "That's... just so cool! They have eyes from basically outside of this world, this planet that is." She said aloud utterly awestruck, like a child with a new toy or seeing a new place in a trip.
"You know about planets, right?" Reila... no education doesn't mean brain dead stupid, woman!

As expected, those weird girls with colorful dress up along with their goons couldn't move at all with our forces blocking... basically all the exit and entry points.
I blinked and suddenly one of those Kaiten Ranger cosplayers were on the ground with their hands tied behind their back, most likely Homura with her time stop.
The pink one with a shoulder mounted launcher aimed and and shot it's payload towards Mami's platoon, but an arrow shot it out of the air changing it's course and hitting an abandoned building as it blew up and flames bursted out. Damn, Madoka's skill with a bow... she's close to Mister August's.
The red one rushed to untie her comrade, the one tied up by Homura. Then Kyouko rushed out of hiding, ambushing her as she slam fired her trench gun. Finger remaining on the trigger as she... pumped her trench guns cylinder mechanism up back and forth, raining flames and pellets on the red costumed one.
The blue one looked at Kyoko, about to turn and shoot at her until Sayaka just dashed towards her, cutting and dismantling her gun apart.
Lastly, Mami pulled one of her muskets out from it's holster and fired up into the sky. It's bullet covered in a thin bright yellow light, zigzagging and weaving around the air until dropping altitude and hitting the yellow one and knocking her unconscious. Her halo turning off.
And the foot soldiers just sweeped up the normal thugs and delinquents. The Valkyrie girls with us first cuffed the girls in colorful dress up while the rest... they didn't have enough cuffs so they were just tied with whatever they could find.
That was quick... I mean, we outnumbered them by a lot but still.
Anyways, onto Abydos again.

A/N: So yeah... Levi Phrenapates/later on Weeping Scope is fucked. I thought "well, he already got the one two combo kick in the balls with ChromaRher. So might as well add in a third combo with the Sulfur God." And... yeah, that happened. I don't think I've seen any fic exploring the dark timeline other than ThatguyProfum's Re:membrance fic, so I just went and made my own dark timeline.
And the way I wrote dark timeline GSC President... back in the prologue, she talked about responsibility and stuff. But judging by her dialogue there, she probably thought she was doing what a real adult would and not what an actual responsible adult would.
Growing up(at least for me) I always thought that to be an adult, I would need to be strong(literally and metaphorically) there's also things my elders and mother told me. Things like I can't just trust everyone, and I can't always be forgiving because some people are just asses. Well, I tried doing that with my dark timeline GSC Prez. If Kivotos faced the same threats it did in our timeline when she was still leading Kivotos personally, then she would've been forced to resort to drastic measures going by the way she spoke in the train in the prologue. Saying that it's all her fault and stuff.
In a time like that, words like "we can't be weak" or "survival at any cost" will be in the forefront of a leaders head.
And yeah... the Sulfur God is here. Well, not exactly here but you guys(or girls) should get the idea.
But for BA(or PMMM fans who are staying to read) The Sulfur God looks like a cooked person shaped wagyu without limbs.
Moon God Rhers Termina festival was automated, and the Sulfur Cult hijacked it to cause mayhem so they could get new sulfurite recruits. The way to do that is for a contestant to win and meet Per'kele before day 3 of a Termina, and then to fight the asshole wizard Per'kele and die. Yes, the actual Termina reward is to DIE, GO TO HELL MEETING THE SULFUR GOD, AND CRAWL OUT OF THERE.
Needlessly convoluted recruitment process, right? While whoever passed the recruitment stage drags him or herself out of hell, the flames of the Sulfur pits(hell) will burn away their weakness and morals(why dark timeline Levi bridal carrying Chinatsu and running really fast, as well as not feeling pain from getting his limbs shotgunned off) along with that, the ignited sulfur also makes parts of their faces blue(that or they painted it. It sounds cooler to say that their faces are scorched blue)
I wanted to write as far as the PMMM girls meeting the Abydos girls and enrolling, and then Levi taking the Blood Portal to Millennium to check up on GDD but I'm being too lazy again.
And yeah, Levi giving commands to the PMMM girls mercenary underlings are what I learned back in ROTC(I don't actually know the commands in english or it's equivalent so I just made up what I wrote in that part)
