A/N: This is a hard chapter. Dove is going to endure a lot. There will even be a moment a group forces themselves on her but I do not write it out in heavy detail, rather I try to use writing to imply it's happening instead.
Either way, you've been warned. dove ends up taking the things that happen to her and turn them into something she will take back control over later so she will be ok for the most part don't worry.
Ch 9: Not Broken, But Changed
Thankfully, she only blacked out for a second before her mind snapped back on high alert, feet kicking things over in her dorm room as she was dragged out, hearing several feet. She was thrown into some sort of cold hard surface outside hard enough to bust her lip within the fabric over her face as her face caught her fall, body sliding in as several pairs of bodies climbed in after and an engine sound was heard. They had made quick work when she was out for that short time to tie her wrists, Dove now mentally cursing at the fact physical strength was never her forte. Her mind was racing with so many things at once as she focused on if the vehicle made any turns and tried to tell speed and distance between directions.
First, she was glad she knocked many things over in her room. It was going to easily let Loki know something was wrong when the girl returned to their dorm. Next, Dove tried to think how she had strangers in her room in the first place? Well actually that one was probably simple. It was extremely common in the fall and spring for students to leave their windows open, the academy turning off all heat and cooling during those easier months to save on dust consumption. She and Loki always kept theirs open if the weather was fair and they were in the room and awake during those months. Mental note taken, never again when alone.
Third, it was clear they were faunus but were they students? Something most people knew about Mistral and the entire continent it rested on in fact was that it was drowning in faunus and also a lot of criminal activity, with still much overlap between the two. Also, most other areas were still very traditional and not very forward thinking, faunus culture especially, so the likelihood this was a group of faunus who were angry about people like Dove for any given reason was very high, either because she was gay or because of her abandoned mate mark.
She had to admit to herself that having grown up in such a progressive city like Vale, surrounded mostly by queers and liberal family, Dove had not really considered how hard life was going to be as a lesbian in another area of Remnant, and especially one that also seemed to be making a mockery of faunus traditions and cultures. School had surrounded her with locals who walked around with the ideals of their families and they didn't shy away from making sure Dove knew what they thought of her. God, she swore at this moment if she ever saw her ex again she would kill the girl herself.
She honed in on her other senses with her sight stripped away. She could hear what sounded like rocks beneath them, so not a main road. The floor beneath her didn't feel cramped and it was cold and hard and smooth like metal. She slid her bare foot along the surface, a van maybe? There was no light filtering into the fabric like in her room so either it had no windows or they were so tinted nothing was coming through enough to get through the fabric. She could smell the unpleasant scent of sweaty men and hear the gruff lively talking of bolstered egos. For sure six of them at least being rowdy with each other and boasting about her capture, talking about some leader who will be happy with them, guessing that was the name they kept throwing around, Trent.
She made a note of it in the event she managed to get herself away somehow. With her wrists bound behind her back and laying on her side on the van floor, she tried to think of what might happen to her and why she was so damn special. She couldn't possibly be the only person on this damn continent who was gay who had dated a faunus once right? And grabbing her from school during the day had to be a harder choice than getting someone from a town. It really put into perspective that she was an intentional target for some reason.
' Just great… if I make it out of this I'm punching my father for passing down so much shitty fucking luck,' she grumbled internally, annoyed that she was probably one of the most unlucky people she knew.
Dove hated the fact she had made the choice to dress for bed so early, planning originally to just stay shut up in her room the rest of the evening while her team was out for dinner. She would have liked more clothing on right now then just small thin shorts, underwear and a crop top but at least she had left her bra on this time so that she didn't have to worry about that. She was also glad she could tell it hadn't hiked up when she was thrown around.
What felt like a long time driving finally came to an end. They had made so many directional changes Dove had lost track so that would be of no help. As the van pulled to a stop with a lurch, she slid callously along the floor into boots with a grunt, squirming her arms against very well tied knots with an angry grunt as the boots kicked her away before a pair of hands grabbed her and yanked her along the van floor to the edge, dragging her kicking and fighting form into a cold doorway.
Dove thought about yelling but right now she was careful. The one thing she absolutely didn't want was to lose consciousness with any of these strangers, and if she started too much of a fuss she was sure she would be knocked out or they would at least attempt again. She couldn't have that. Dove refused to be anyone's victim against her will. Twists and turns and she was tossed into a dirt covered floor roughly with a huff of air forced out of her, something clamping onto her wrists before the ropes were removed, still keeping them together, before her head was yanked up and the same metal cold material was clasped around her throat and she was tossed away by laughing men before they stalked off.
Growling, she stumped to her feet, trying to figure out what situation she was in when a dank smell of deep ocean, blood and death filled her nostrils and the sack was yanked from her head, the lights in the room feeling harsh and blinding on her eyes. When they began to focus, she stared at the massive grown man standing before her. His muscular size could make even Yang and Jin look weak and he was incredibly tall. But those weren't the features that stood out to her the most. No, what was drawing her attention was the terrifying rows of razor sharp spades in his mouth that gleamed in the odd lighting of the windowless space. They were clearly shark teeth and they were so sharp and there were so many that it made Jin's dragon teeth look as cute as kittens.
On his bicep was a band with a symbol on it that was eerily familiar to some old Faunus group that Dove couldn't remember at the moment from history class that had been taken down by the Belladonna's before she was even born. This must be some sort of splinter gang or something. there were apparently many of those hiding around the continent that still truly hated humans.
He chuckled in her face, inches away and she gagged on that stench, frowning, which only amused him as his voice low like a deep bass sound spoke to her with a mean humor, "What a spirited girl you are. They warned me you were willie. But I bet you wanna know why you are here huh?"
"It may have crossed my mind, yes," Dove responded with a firm voice, refusing to humor him as her captor.
He just laughed at that, "Yes… too much spirit maybe. You don't seem to truly grasp the situation you're in. See, there's a handful of reasons we can't really stand you but to top it all you are the cousin of the woman who killed a man we followed and admired who was going to wipe you idiot humans out and so I think, since we can't very well grab her daughter, you'll do just as good."
The anger that flashed across Dove's face was unreal, "Oh you have to be fucking kidd… I'm in this fucking mess because of Jin!? Really!? Oh fuck you, you fucking snaggle toothed ugly ass monster!"
She spit at his face, seething with anger. While his grin never faltered, he reached and wiped the spit away with disgust, staring at her, "Oh it's going to be fucking fun to break that spirit of yours."
Dove didn't even flinch as he raised his fist and it slammed into her head. When she was conscious again, she glanced around, struggling to sit up without her hands and looking around. She was in a small room with no windows and no furniture. Just herself with her bound wrists chained to a metal loop in the floor. Sitting there on her knees, she took in herself. Nothing seemed out of place or askew and she didn't feel any irritation or pain anywhere beyond her pounding head so she was relieved knowing no one tried to do anything unsavory to her while she was unconscious.
Not long after waking, the man came in, that awful grin shining at her, "Ah you're finally up I see. Good. Now, Let's get a better look yea?"
She got to her feet quickly and backed from him, gritting her teeth with narrowed eyes but it didn't phase him as some of his henchmen filled in and surrounded her, grabbing her and holding her still pinned back on her knees again, forcing her head back as he reached out and clawed fingers sliced away her shirt. Dove was tempted to close her eyes but refused to give him the satisfaction.
However, what she feared might happen never came. Instead, he was staring at her skin and shifting the metal collar to see the invisible mark humans couldn't see on her neck. The faunus holding her were cackling and eyeing her in ways that made her feel sick as one of them pointed, "Look here Trent! this scar is from human teeth!"
His nail scraped across a bite from Loki on her shoulder, one Dove kept because she enjoyed doing so but now she felt stupid for it, trying to jerk her shoulder away but getting smacked in the back of her already throbbing head in response. The shark cackled, "So it's true then the rumors some of the kids have been informing us of. You enjoy being some sort of toy huh? Alright then. If you like that sort of thing and you clearly don't mind being marked by so many people, why don't we see how far we can push you huh?"
Before Dove could even try to be a smart ass with him, she bit her lip to keep herself from shouting as the faunus holding her down snapped and bit at her, teeth sinking into her shoulders, arms, back. It hurt so much as they sank them to the gums, holding nothing back but still, as she fought to keep her eyes from watering, red rolling down milky pale skin, she stared at the shark and refused to they began to let her go, he stopped them from licking the wounds, "Leave us. I can handle her."
Dove hated the way they were glancing at each other with smirks. When the door closed she glared at the shark intensely, "Now what? Going to do something else that you think might make me crack hm?"
He only laughed darkly, lips peeling back baring those dangerous teeth as he grabbed her by the collar and jerked her over, "Oh girly I'm going to break you. And when I do, no one will ever want you again. Let's see how many times you can fix these until you have to wear them forever shall we?"
She knew what he meant and that thought was horrifying. If she ran out of aura and couldn't replenish it, she would have to pick and choose which bites to heal and which to leave to scar over and remain possibly forever. Without knowing how long she will be here and no way in the room to tell time, she would have to gamble for it every time. She fought every screaming urge in her body to jerk and squirm away, trying not to give him any satisfaction as his other hand grabbed her leg and yanked her over, his teeth sinking into her tight. Nope, she couldn't do it. She couldn't stop herself as she cried out in agony.
Those teeth were ripping through the skin and muscle like she was nothing and it was too much. Dove might love pain but only from the right people and only when she consented to it but even this was beyond anything she would ever enjoy from anyone. It wasn't surface level, it was like being impaled by dozens of small knives and it burned. Blood was running down her skin like crazy and she couldn't stop herself from convulsing to try to pull free, wrists straining against their binding in an instinct to break free from him.
He didn't stop until her skin was to his gums, taking his time to remove them so she had to feel every second in the dizzying blur of the pain, setting her down and licking his bloody mouth, watching as she panted and hunched forward, screaming from the pain, "Well? Heal it or bleed to death. Your choice girl. Makes no difference to me what some faunus's whore does."
He didn't even stay to watch and Dove was left alone, eyes squeezed tight as she tried to calm down. When she got some control over her mind she turned to look at the grotesque wound, flesh mangled and gushing as her body trembled in reaction to the pain. She had to, she didn't have a choice as she pushed her aura, focusing it on every wound and letting a bulk of it clear them all. It still hurt so badly but it was gone now, leaving only a scar behind. His bites were going to take work if they were going to be like that.
This went on for days. She barely slept, dark rings under her eyes as she only let herself rest just enough to stay alert. They didn't feed her and the only water she got was from a leak off the ceiling. It was gross but at least she would survive. Still, Dove stayed strong, using a few people to keep her mind fighting. Sure her whole team was great and so was her dad but there were two people who kept her fighting spirit alive.
The first was her mother. Not only was Winter someone people should be careful crossing but she was the winter maiden of all things. And once the school told her Dove was missing she would surely be looking for her with an intense fury towards anyone who dared hurt her only child. The other was Loki, the unhinged girl who truly did not know the definition of fear who loved Dove fiercely. If Loki was willing to devastate her own friend's hand just for saying a few choice things about Dove, then these faunus were in for a real surprise.
Dove didn't know how much time had passed now, sure it was all part of whatever this sick game was to try to break her, but she was pretty sure by her hunger and exhaustion it had to have been a few days at least. No way were Loki and Winter not already looking for her and both were very dangerous and well… these faunus had better just hope someone besides one of them finds Dove first.
"Loki…" Dove mumbled to herself, trying to keep a routine of running over things she knew to be resolute in order to keep herself sane under all this pressure and stress, her girlfriend being one of them, "... loves me. True. Would kill for me. Probably definitely. Strong, funny, gorgeous. Most true. Rough, gentle, heals my heart. Absolutely."
A few tears hit the layer of dirt covering her prison floor, "Mom… Loki…"
She was getting so weak from all the conditions they were keeping her in and every day being forced to choose what to heal on her body as she was abused and marked, with the shark being sure to leave something devastating last. Today, he had chomped down across her gut at her side and with so little aura left and no way to regain any in these conditions she could only heal the deeper parts of the bite, the surface still bleeding and open. A lot of the minor faunus bites she had stopped healing a while back to converse her aura and about half were getting infected in the dirty environment.
But Dove was sure Loki or Winter would come. She knew them and these faunus were vastly underestimating those two. So she wasn't going to break. Dove would be no one's victim she had already decided. Up until this point, though teeth had sometimes clamped into places in areas dangerously close to inappropriate, no one had done anything unsavory to her yet. Dove was thankful for that. Not only was she sure that would be much harder to have resolve against, but with how weak she was she didn't trust her body not to betray her will and her mind and just give into things that might be too close to pleasurable for her, which would bring a whole new set of issues for her mind and this entire situation.
Well, that was until now. Clearly, the compound she had been dragged to wasn't just full of men, that idea would be idiotic and silly. When the shark came the next day, the faunus he brought with him were all very beautiful females. Dove was not liking this one bit. Her weak eyes half lidded in her tired state stared at them and she tried to glare at him, "What's this, some sort of pity? What run out of strong boys to throw at me so you think you can come after my other vices?"
He just smirked, "Something like that but you seem closer to cracking than you think bitch. I'm going to leave them with you today for as long as they want. See how you handle that dyke."
She frowned, "That seems backwards don't you think? Using a slur like that towards me while leaving me with a bunch of women?"
He laughed, "Oh they ain't gay. But they're more than happy to torment you if it means you'll snap. Don't you think that's worse? A bunch of straight women messing with you just because they can? Not caring a lick about you or what you want?"
She grit her teeth and struggled to her feet rushing him and head butting him hard with the little strength she had, panting and standing there with a furious face as she rubbed his head watching her, "Yea… you are wearing down alright. Soon you'll snap. Soon."
She just watched him leave. She tried to step away each time one of the four women came near her, even kicking one of them before two finally pinned her down, the other two roaming her flesh in ways Dove had to bite her tongue to ignore, eyes watering and she closed them tightly. This wasn't something she liked at all. She didn't want this and yet her body was responding and she hated it, struggling but too weak to matter as hands found every spot that made her tremble, harsh nails and claws leaving marks on her skin and teeth biting at her chest, breasts, thighs right beside her core. Dove jerked around, trying her best but she was so tired, so drained.
The way they laughed at her attempts stung her mind and soul as their hands forced her body to respond to their attentions, Dove keeping her eyes closed and trying her best to think of anything else. She had no aura to waste on this, needing it if the shark bit her again. But the way nails dug into the open wounds from previous bites was making it hard to resist healing her body to make it stop. When their touches found their way into her clothing Dove pulled her thighs tightly closed and tried so hard to keep herself free of such an invasion but it took hardly any strength at all for hands to pull her legs back and she could only send her mind elsewhere when it happened.
She let her mind tell herself she was in her dorm with Loki and this thought carried her through everything enough to not cave or shatter, keeping her will and wit against their torture even as she couldn't stop her body from responding with a climax, hating herself for it, reminding herself that the body can respond to touch even if you don't want it to. It was very satisfying when the women left angry they couldn't make her crumble, Dove glaring at them and sitting there with a very strong expression as they left.
When left alone, she sighed, pulling her knees close to her and resting her face on them, "Just…a few minutes… if I sleep just a few minutes maybe I can get more time out of myself… maybe recover a bit of aura… I can't survive many more bites from that shark… or much more of any of this…"
She had to admit that to herself because it was just true. She could tell she was out of energy, out of aura, and so low on her force of will. In such a state, she couldn't help thinking of all the toothy faunus in her life that seemed to have ruined it. Jin, Wendie, Jin, Trent, a pattern that always seemed to loop back to her annoying cousin somehow. If she didn't already hate Jin, she did now.
And what did Adam and Blake and Yang have anything to do with her? So what if Yang was her cousin they barely knew each other like that. Didn't seem fair to her to be in this situation because of family members she wasn't even close to and hardly knew that well other than just some adults who raised her stupid dragon cousin. She shook her head slowly, "I want to go home…Mom… I want to go home…"
Her teeth grit and ground together, pulling in a deep long breath as she pulls herself back together. She would not let them win. She steeled her mind, willing herself to continue on. This new added torture started to come with Trent for the next few days and Dove was struggling to fight back, finding herself caving often to the feelings they put her body through and just being mad at herself after they would leave.
After almost two weeks of all of this, Dove was slumped into the floor, eyes weary, staring at the dirt on it as she laid there, repeating her resolutions to her mind when she saw the door open and pulled herself to her knees, forcing her glare at the shark as she stepped over, frowning. She was yanked up by her restraints, face near his, "You are stubborn I'll give you that bitch! You can't keep this up forever though!"
Dove wasn't going to say anything, just staring at him. Lately silence had been her best way to fight back as it was just as irritating to the man then her smart mouth, when the sounds of gunfire and screaming flooded the hallway beyond the door. His head turned for a moment as Dove's lips curled into a dark grin, "You are so fucked now boss man."
She started to laugh darkly, relief reinvigorating her like a flash of a second wind and she kicked him in the gut hard, reaching with her face and snagging his nose in her teeth, yanking with all her might until skin tore from the surface, spitting it out as he threw her with a howl. In moments, the gunfire and sounds of lightning were growing closer and closer and Dove just laughed, standing there over him as he squirmed holding his face, "You hear that? That is the sound of your regret! My girlfriend is going to fucking destroy you. You are going to regret everything you have done to me you bastard!"
She leaned in close, the panic and realization in his eyes giving her strength as the cries of the gang filled the room and those sounds seemed only feet away, "When I call for her, your life with be over you fucking piece of shit. Any last words for me?"
He stared into those eyes, seeing Dove gaining her sense of self back in full force along with something there that once was buried, some darkness that the girl carried inside full of hatred and irritation, something he thought he put there, "You still cracked bitch, like a fucking toy that I no longer have any use for!"
She kicked into his face as hard as her weak body would let, shouting out, "Loki! Loki in here! Baby I'm in here!"
The whirlwind of people's suffering came rushing their way as the man lashed out, grabbing Dove in a panic and yanking her over, about to snap his teeth into her throat for a death blow when a flash of lightning caught his body from Raiden, making him drop Dove as he spasmed, Venere rushing in her body stone, grabbing him and pinning him into the floor. A flash of furious pink came rushing into the room, shots breaking the chains and familiar hands lowering Dove on her weak legs to the floor for a moment before turning to the faunus and before even Venere could protest, both ax blades came down hard into his body, cracking bone and squashed flesh and tissue as his arm was severed from his body, the same arm he had dared grab Dove with before they entered.
Venere released him, eyes glowing as her skin returned to normal, Loki scooping Dove up bridal style, the girl glancing from those strong arms as Trent as he squirmed around in pain, "I am no one's toy."
They got Dove out, meeting up with Huntsmen outside who were handling the larger situation as Dove blacked out, unable to continue to stay conscious now that she felt relieved and safe in Loki's grasp. It turned out finding Dove had also led everyone to a rather deep sect of one of the few remaining White Fang units, Dove only one of several human prisoners inside that were being tormented and many bodies of some already dead being removed. Finding Dove had helped to crack the group wide open, Trent in particular having been one of Adam's apprentices after Blake originally left.
Loki and the team were very worried, rushing Dove to a medship and riding along as it took her out of there with a few other injured, the team not needing to stick around due to being mere students. In fact they were only lucky enough to get on this mission because of Loki's parents pulling some strings, the two still on site helping with the situation.

It took days for Dove to finally wake up. By that point, Winter was there and so was Qrow though Dove's team had refused to leave the hospital as well so the room was extremely cramped. Anytime a staff member tried to force them to adhere to the visitor limits, Raiden and Loki would take turns scaring them with their strength or semblances. As Dove's eyes opened, it was pitch black outside. She looked around the room at the weird sight.
Venere was scooped on Raiden to save space, both asleep. Qrow was kicked back in a chair sleeping sitting up in a corner. Loki was passed out beside her right side, hunched over the edge of the bed drooling in her sleep and hand gripping Dove's sheet softly, pink hair an absolute mess. Winter was the only one awake, sitting on her left side holding her hand and stroking the skin softly, her mother's hands shaking, "M…mom?"
Dove's throat was scratchy and ached. She reached up and weakly touched it with her free hand and winced. Before she could panic, Winter leaned over and kissed her forehead, "Dove it's going to be ok. You have a lot of very bad bruising and you went into a pretty long surgery for your wounds and infections so they had to put a tube in for air. It won't hurt for too long just stay calm. You're safe now. We're all here for you."
Her mother's face was such a mixture of sadness and relief that Dove was also tearing up, reaching and gripping Winter, yanking her close and finally letting herself cry, "I… I didn't let them win. I knew someone would come. I didn't break Mom. I didn't."
Winter just held her, nuzzling her hair and placing soft kisses into it as she tried to calm her down, the heart rate monitor starting to beep rapidly, "Shh sweetie. It's ok. I'm just so glad you are ok. I was so worried."
Winter had been on a different search team then the one that had found Dove but she had been heavily involved in helping organize everything as well as working closely with the headmaster of Haven since the ordeal to weed out all the students that were secret members that had been the very reason the organization had been able to make their way on campus in the first place. Loki had called Winter before anyone else when she had come back to the room a mess from a clear sign of a struggle and searches had started almost immediately, only taking so long to find Dove because they were so far out and in a compound underground, explaining the lack of windows.
They had gotten lucky they found it at all, Loki spotting the lizard boy who had licked Dove and following him not far off from the compound being the only reason they even managed to find her when they did. A nurse came in alerted by the monitor, getting Dove settled by letting her know if she didn't she was going to have to follow protocol and give down something to make her calm. Dove's reaction to that being instant aggression but she made herself relax anyway, scared to be forced to feel weak again right now. For now, she tried to relax in her mother's embrace as Winter slid in next to her, Dove clinging to her so dearly it broke Winter's heart.

It took a few days but when Dove could finally push her aura enough to clean herself up more and she felt much better, she went back to school, assuring Winter and Qrow she would be fine to return. No one wanted to be the person to ask and Dove wasn't telling but everyone did wonder what all might have happened to her there, especially since there were more dead humans found then living ones. Still, it was just an understood thing you just don't do.
Back on campus, Venere and Raiden got doors as Loki carried Dove inside, Dove frowning, "Loki… I'm fine. You can let me walk."
The girl shook her head no and set Dove on the bed, "Fuck that. Not lettin you out my damn sight ever again!"
Dove stared at her with a frown, her eyes noticing their teammates close the room door for them as they gave the two privacy. Loki didn't sit and Dove could tell why. She sighed and reached out, grabbing Loki's hand and giving a tug, pulling the pink haired girl to the bed and leaning down over her, "Loki… you know I didn't want to let those things happen to me right? I resisted them."
Loki nodded, touching Dove's cheek. Of course, everyone Loki could tell those faunus had sullied Dove. What lover couldn't tell? Dove leaned in and rested her head against Loki's chest, curling into the side of her girlfriend, "Loki… I only got through it when they did that to me because of you. I sent my mind to a place where you were and I was able to deal with it and not let them have any power over my mind. They wanted to break my spirit and crush my will… I refused. I am not a victim."
Loki stroked Dove's hair nodding, "I know. You could never."
"That's what makes you great. You know me. I knew the whole time you or my mother would stop at nothing to find me and if either of you did, those fuckers were so screwed," Dove stared at pink locks twisted in her fingers.
Loki chucked, "No one fucks with you and gets away with it Babe."
Dove closed her eyes and took a breath, ready with such a light conversation now to say it, "Loki… I may have ended up messing up my head in trying to be strong… in ways I think only you can soothe…"
Loki raised a brow, glancing down as Dove fiddled with her hair. Her eyes went wide and she was stunned when Dove spoke again, "I need you to force yourself on me."
