A/N: Please read and review?
Shoutout: DCDGojira: Two of those heroes I have got planned for this season, but I'm not sure about the others. I'm not telling you 'cause I don't like spoilers.
In the city, Spider-Man was swinging by himself, before he landed on a rooftop in a perched position. He was on his own tonight as Gwen was finishing off her homework for tomorrow.
"It's a pity Gwen had to do her homework." he thought, getting up. "Still, better keep an eye on the city until it's time for bed."
He turned left slightly and saw electricity coming out of a warehouse nearby at the East River.
"Huh... Electro?!" he gasped. "No, it can't be. Still, better check it out. He hasn't been seen since Gwen made her debut as Ghost Spider."
He jumped off the rooftop and began to swing towards the warehouse.
Inside the warehouse, two collage boys were playing inside, one with brown hair, playing with his phone, while the other, who was blonde, was throwing a ball around.
"I told you this place was cool, Scott." the brown-haired boy said. "Now all we need is some chicks to come over."
"In your dreams, Manny." Scott said, catching his ball. "No way chicks can dig the cobweb slash vermin look."
"Very funny." Manny scoffed.
He threw his ball at Manny playfully, before they both heard a voice, that sounded painful.
"Was that you?" Manny asked.
"Uh, no." Scott said. "You there's somebody else here?"
"Maybe." Manny said. "Hello?! Hello?! Anybody here?!"
His voice echoed around the warehouse, but nobody answered.
"Okay, I'm not liking this." Manny gulped, putting his phone away.
"Maybe it was just the wind, dude." Scott said.
"AHHH!" the voice roared.
Both boys turned as a generator in the back room turned on, lowering a switch panel, then it got turned on.
"Okay, this isn't good." Scott gulped.
They both turned as they heard a noise, then a turbine fan turned on behind them, which began to pull on them.
"AHH! AH!" they grunted, trying to remain still.
"Hey!" Manny yelled.
They both got pulled away by the force of the fan, but managed to grab a grilled fence on the floor, which got pulled up by them. They both held on, as the fan kept spinning.
"AHH!" they yelled.
(Outside)
The warehouse lit up brightly, as Spider-Man kept swinging towards it.
"Okay, there's defiantly something going on in there." he thought.
(Inside)
Scott and Manny both kept hold of the fence.
"Help! HELP!" Scott cried.
"Help us!" Manny cried.
They both began to lose their grips, as Scott's ball got sucked into the fan, slicing it in two.
"I guess I don't need you tell you to hang on?" came a voice.
Scott and Manny turned and saw Spider-Man on a wall.
"Spider-Man, hurry!" Scott cried.
Spider-Man looked around, then saw the fan controls. He ripped off a pipe on the wall, then he dived towards the fan, then dug it into it, slowing it down. He then turned to the controls and shot a web at it, pulling it down, turning it off.
"Ah!" both boys moaned, letting go of the fence.
Spider-Man turned and ran towards them both as they fell onto the floor.
"Thanks, Spider-Man." Scott said, as he and Manny got up. "We'd love to stay, but we're outta here."
"Wait?" Spider-Man asked. "What do you mean?"
The boys both turned to him.
"There's some sort of ghost here." Scott explained.
"And we don't mean your partner." Manny assured. "This ghost nearly cut us up."
"Come again?" Spider-Man inquired, confused.
"Well, that tribune started by itself." Scott explained. "Don't know how though."
"Yeah. So, we're outta here." Manny said.
They both turned and ran off, leaving Spider-Man alone.
"Weird?" he thought.
He turned around to the fan, seeing a generator nearby it.
"Why would Electro do this?" Spider-Man thought, since only Electro had this kind of power. "Unless it was a test for something? But what?"
He sighed, knowing it was late, before he jumped up and swung off. As he did through, the pipe snapped in half from the fan, as electricity flowed through it, then Electro's face popped out.
"AHHH!" he roared painfully.
The next day at school, Peter and Gwen stood by his locker, going through his stuff, Peter having told Gwen about last night.
"You saw Electro last night?" Gwen gasped.
"I...don't know, but it looked like his handiwork." Peter sighed. "Don't know why he'd be there through."
"We better keep our eyes open then after school." Gwen said.
"Agreed." Peter said. "Come on. We've both got English, remember?"
"How could I get forget?" Gwen teased, linking her arm with his.
They both turned and walked down the hallway slightly, but then saw Randy and Flash approaching them, both smiling.
"You two seem pretty happy?" Gwen noted.
"Yeah. Football game tomorrow night against Brooklyn Visions Academy." Flash explained.
"Say what?" Anya inquired, coming over. "My old school?"
"Yep." Randy said. "The team's been practicing for weeks for this."
"Well, good luck then." Anya said. "I may not have seen them in months, but the team at my old school is pretty good."
"Thanks for the news." Flash scoffed. "We'll see who's the better team tomorrow night."
"Well, see you." Randy said.
They both turned and walked off, leaving Peter and the girls alone.
"Might get to see some of my old friends there." Anya said. "Haven't really seen them since I moved."
"Well, I think it's a good chance for you to catch up with them then." Gwen said.
"Yeah." Anya agreed. "I wonder how they've been doing."
"Well, you won't find out unless you see them." Peter said. "We'll see you later, Anya."
"See you, guys." Anya said, waving as she walked off.
"Well, this is one game we can't afford to miss." Gwen teased.
"You're right there." Spider-Man said. "Still, we better see if we can find Electro tonight. I don't like what he tried to do to those teens."
"Understood." Gwen agreed. "Come on."
They both linked their arms again as they walked off down the hallway to their first lesson.
After school, Spider-Man swung down a street, as he and Gwen had decided to split up to have a better chance to find Electro, as he wasn't sure if he'd be in the same building as last night.
"You got anything, Ghostie?" Spider-Man asked.
"Negative, Spidey." Ghost Spider replied.
(Another area)
Ghost Spider gilded down a street on her web-wings, looking around, but saw nothing unusual.
"It seems quiet on my end." she reported. "Any luck on your end?"
"No. But I have a feeling he's out here somewhere." Spider-Man said.
(Spider-Man's area)
Spider-Man landed on top of a water tower and looked around.
"We'll just have to keep searching until we find him." he sighed. "Let's just hope it's before curfew."
"I know what you mean." Ghost Spider sighed. "Good luck, my love."
"Same here, Ghostie." Spider-Man said.
A few blocks away from Spider-Man's area, an African-American woman with short dreadlock hair was walking down a street, while a blot of electricity moved from a neon sign to a lamppost, then to a power line. It then moved to a lamppost, then to a traffic light as she started to cross the street, turning the traffic light 'Go man' on, which beeped.
"Huh?" the woman muttered, stopping.
She turned around, seeing no one around.
"Who's there?" she said.
She looked around, thinking it might be a few kids playing a trick on her, but saw no sign of anyone. As she did, the electricity went along towards a lamppost, then to a neon sign, as the woman stopped and heard a moaning voice.
"Oh, my God!" she gasped.
She looked at the sign as electricity came out of it and the lamppost, before Electro came out of it. She then turned around and ran off, as Electro began to move towards her in the air, before she tripped over a bin and fell onto her side.
"AH!" Electro roared, shooting electricity from his left hand.
His powers hit the woman and lifted her up.
"Ah! AHHHH!" she screamed.
Electro lifted her up towards a large neon billboard on top of a rooftop, with a nearby generator. He shot electricity from his right hand onto the billboard, sending more into the woman's body, covering her in some sort of cloud.
Nearby, Spider-Man landed on a rooftop and spotted the electricity in the distance.
"Huh?" he muttered. "Oh, no! Ghost, I think I've found him."
"Right." Ghost Spider said. "I'll be there as soon as I can."
Spider-Man nodded, as she could track him with her Spider Tracer. He then jumped off the rooftop and began to swing to where the electricity. Once there, he landed on a nearby water tower, and saw Electro shooting electricity into the woman with his left hand, and into the generator with the other, turning the beams yellow.
"What are you doing to me?" she moaned.
"You like experiments, don't you Professor?" Electro smirked.
"AHH!" the woman cried.
"NO!" Spider-Man gasped.
He jumped off the water tower, then landed near the generator, before it created a small explosion, knocking him across the rooftop.
"AH!" he moaned.
Part of the chest area of his suit got ripped out, along with his right arm area, before he stopped on his chest. He looked up at Electro, thinking he was killing the woman, before turning to the generator.
"I hope this works." he thought.
He shot webs from both his hands at the generator, covering it in a web-net, which cut off Electro's connection to it. He turned to it in horror as the woman got lowered down onto her back, not moving a muscle.
"NOOOO!" he cried.
He turned to Spider-Man angrily, who got up ready to fight.
"You'll pay for this, web-head!" he roared. "Next time, stay out of my way!"
"Not gonna happen, sparky!" Spider-Man joked, shooting a web at him from his right hand.
Electro rose up as his body got weaker, dodging the web, while telling Spider-Man something was up with him.
"I won't let you stop me!" he roared.
"From doing what?" Spider-Man asked.
"Not being the only Electro in the city anymore!" Electro roared.
He vanished and went into a nearby power line, then went along it, as Spider-Man got up and ran towards the woman.
"Ghost, he's gone." Spider-Man explained.
"Gone?" Ghost Spider questioned. "What do you mean?"
"He vanished into a power line as I tried to stop him from harming a woman." Spider-Man explained. "Looks like he was weak."
"Oh, great!" Ghost Spider moaned. "And I'm still half a mile away."
"Look, just head home, okay." Spider-Man said, as he crouched down near the woman. "It's getting late. I'll stay until the ambulance arrives."
"Okay. See you, Spidey." Ghost Spider said.
"See ya." Spider-Man said.
He turned to the woman and checked her pulse, which was faint.
"Oh, man!" he thought. "I hope Gwen forgives me for this?"
He raised his mask up to his nose, then kissed the woman's mouth, then pulled back, and began to press hard on her chest, giving her C.P.R.
"Come on? Stay with me?" he asked.
Later, in the street, once the ambulance arrived, Spider-Man saw a large crowd of people all around as the Paramedics approached the woman, who he'd put down on the path.
"We'll take care of her, Spider-Man." a woman said, whose name tag said 'Jane Foster'.
Spider-Man sighed as the Paramedics put the woman on the stretcher.
"Susie!" a voice called.
Spider-Man turned as Dr. Connors came running towards them all.
"Dr. Connors?" Spider-Man questioned. "You know this woman?"
The Paramedics turned to him.
"Yes, her name's Susie Williams. She works with me at E.S.U." Dr. Connors explained. "She teaches Engineering Science."
Spider-Man's eyes widened, shocked by the news. "At least this explains the experiment joke." he thought.
"What happened to her?" Dr. Connors asked.
"According to Spider-Man, Electro was seemingly trying to electrocute her on top of that building." Jane explained.
"Electro?" Dr. Connors questioned, horrified.
Spider-Man approached him as the Paramedics loaded Dr. Williams into the ambulance.
"Doc, I need to ask; did Max Dillion know her well enough?" Spider-Man asked.
"Max was...her best student." Dr. Connors explained. "Got the highest score on nearly every test she gave him."
"Man." Spider-Man said. "That includes Electrical Engineering, doesn't it?"
"Yes." Dr. Connors sighed. "When I told her what happened to him, she was shocked and didn't believe me, even when he stopped turning up."
They both turned to the ambulance, as the Paramedics turned to them both.
"We'll do what we can for her." Jane promised.
"Can I come with you?" Dr. Connors asked.
"If you know her that well, I see no harm." Jane said. "Get onboard."
Dr. Connors got into the ambulance, which then raced away, as Spider-Man stared at him.
"So, Electro knew this woman personally." he thought. "I better tell Gwen this tomorrow, for I have a feeling he'll try again."
He jumped up and began to swing off on his way home.
The next night, in the school's football stadium, Peter and Gwen both stood together outside, as they hadn't had much of a chance to talk earlier.
"So, that woman from last night works with Dr. Connors?" Gwen asked.
"Yeah." Peter said. "Her name's Susie Williams. She also teaches Engineering Science at E.S.U. Max was one of her best students."
"Guess this makes Dr. Connors more determined to help him then." Gwen sighed. "What do you think Electro was trying to do to her?"
"I have no idea." Peter answered. "But I know he wasn't trying to kill her. It looked like he wanted her alive."
Gwen looked at him and sighed, wondering what Electro had tried to do to that Prof. Williams.
"By the way, I... I had to give her C.P.R while waiting for the ambulance." Peter sighed. "I hope you understand."
"Well, given the circumstances, I understand, Pete." Gwen said quietly. "I'd do the same in that case. It's not like when Black Cat pounced and kissed you after all. You did it to try and help save her life. That's reasonable."
Peter smiled before they hugged each other, happy that he understood her reason.
"Thanks, Gwen." he said, as they pulled apart.
"I mean it, it's understandable." Gwen said. "Pity you couldn't stop Electro escaping."
"I know. We'll have to patrol again tonight after the match." Peter sighed. "I have a feeling that whatever he tried to do to Prof. Willaims, he'll try again."
"Okay." Gwen said.
They both turned and walked towards the stadium, seeing Mary Jane and Anya both standing together.
"You two looking forward to this?" Peter asked.
"Well, kind of." Anya said. "But I'm more looking forward to seeing my old friends."
"Have you seen any yet then?" Gwen asked.
"No, not yet." Anya sighed.
"Relax, Anya." Mary Jane said. "I'm sure they'll be here, unless of course they're sick."
Anya turned to her to say something.
"Anya, is that you?" came a girl's voice.
Anya turned around and saw two girls approaching her, one being white with glasses on, while the other was African-American with hair that stuck out.
"Lynn? Rocky!" she cried.
She ran over and hugged them both, as Peter, Gwen and Mary Jane stared at them.
"Must be some of her old friends?" Gwen deduced.
"Looks like it." Mary Jane agreed.
"Yeah." Peter agreed. "I'll meet you girls inside."
He turned and walked off into the stadium, as Gwen and Mary Jane approached Anya and her friends.
"Oh, it's good to see you two." Anya said.
"Thanks." Rocky said, who as the African girl.
"How've you been?" Lynn asked.
"Great." Anya said. "I've been a bit busy though. That's why I haven't been able to visit you. I have made some new friends here through, so I haven't been lonely."
"She sure has." Mary Jane assured.
Lynn and Rocky looked at her and Gwen, as Anya turned around.
"Oh, Rocky, Lynn, this is Gwen and Mary Jane, two of my friends here." Anya explained.
"Nice to meet you." Gwen said, holding her hand out.
She shook Lynn's hand, as Mary Jane shook Rocky's.
"Who was that boy you were with?" Lynn asked, as she'd noticed Peter.
"That was Peter, my boyfriend." Gwen explained. "And I'm sorry, Lynn, but I'm the jealous type."
Mary Jane looked at her curiously.
"I've seen a few girls flirt with him when we've been on a few dates." Gwen explained, which wasn't a complete lie.
"Oh, right." Mary Jane said. "I didn't know Peter could attract girls like that?"
"Well, he normally couldn't." Gwen said. "It's just recent."
"Hey, why don't we all go in and sit together." Anya suggested. "I'm sure Peter won't mind."
"No, he won't." Gwen said. "Come on, girls."
All five of them turned and walked into the stadium together.
A little later, inside, Peter walked along the stands, then found an empty space beside Gloria.
"This seat taken, Glory?" he asked.
"No, go ahead." Gloria said kindly.
Peter sat down beside her, as the teams from both schools began to run onto the pitch. His phone then beeped, making him take it out of his pocket, then he saw a text message from Gwen.
"I'm sitting with MJ, Anya and her old friends." it read.
Peter turned to his right, and saw her waving at him, seeing Mary Jane, Anya, Lynn and Rocky all around her, then he waved back. A horn began to sound, as all the players ran onto the pitch, as the Cheerleaders all began to cheer from either side of the pitch.
"And welcome to the last game of the quarter finals of State Championship: The Midtown Tigers vs The Visions Badgers." a boy said, who was announcing through a megaphone.
Peter saw Liz, Sally and the other Cheerleaders doing their dance, all dressed in dark blue outfits with bits of gold. The players - including Flash and Randy - were all dressed in the same color, with white shorts, but Peter couldn't see Seymour O'Reilly.
"I thought O'Reilly was on the team?" Peter said, confused, as the announcer began to tell everyone the team members names.
"He got kicked off for what he and Bench did to Harry on Valentines Day." Gloria explained. "The entire team hates him for that. Took them a while to find a replacement for him."
"I'm glad to hear that." came Harry's voice.
Peter and Gloria turned around and saw Harry sitting behind them both.
"If Bench had been on the team, I guess he'd suffer the same fate?" Harry assumed.
"Yeah." Gloria agreed. "I tell you; O'Reilly is pretty much in a tight leash. I've heard if he does one more thing like what he did to you, Harry, he'll be expelled from school."
"After what he did to me, I wouldn't be surprised." Harry said.
"Agreed." Peter said. "Unlike Flash, he doesn't seem to be maturing at all. That'll probably land him in jail in he keeps it up."
"Here, here." Gloria agreed.
Peter turned back to the pitch, when Miles came over to them and sat down beside him.
"Hey, Peter." he said.
"Oh, hey, Miles." Peter said. "You doing okay?"
"Kinda." Miles sighed. "Still adjusting to the change, but Anya's helped me out slightly."
"That's good to hear." Peter said.
"Where is she anyway?" Miles asked.
"With Gwen and MJ." Peter said. "They're with some of her old friends from her old school."
He pointed further along the stand on his right, as Miles, Gloria and Harry turned and then saw them.
"I see." Miles said, turning back, before spotting Gloria. "Um, who's this?"
"I'm Gloria Grant, same year as Peter and Harry." Gloria said. "Nearly everyone calls me Glory though."
"Nice to meet you." Miles said, shaking her hand.
The crowd on either side of the pitch, as both teams gathered together in the I formation, with Flash standing right behind Randy. Randy took the ball as both teams began to grapple each other, then he passed the ball to Flash, as the announcer spoke.
"And Flash Thompson has the ball, who throws it across the pitch..."
Flash threw the ball towards another player, but a Visions Badger jumped up and knocked it away.
"...but Jordan of the Badgers intercepts and throws it away."
A Midtown Tiger jumped up and caught the ball, then ran along the pitch.
"But now Johnson of the Tigers snatches it and races across the pitch, as the Tiger Cheerleaders cheer for him."
"Hey, what do you say?
Midtown will come back today!
Go Tigers!
Defence!" the Cheerleaders chanted.
Johnson kept running over the pitch, then threw the ball away, which scored for the team.
"Whoo!" he whooped.
"Yeah!" others whooped, including Randy.
"Nice one, Mick." Flash called.
"And Johnson scores, making it 6 to 0 to the Midtown Tigers!" the announcer said.
The Midtown supports all cheered, as the Cheerleaders danced, when a person dressed in a tiger suit came over near them, which had a shirt and hat on, that matched The Midtown Tigers uniforms.
"I wonder who that is?" Harry said.
"Sha Shan Nguyen, the girl who's got the lead role in the upcoming play." Gloria explained.
"How do you know that?" Peter asked, curiously.
"I'm in the group too." Gloria explained. "She told me she's the new mascot a few days ago."
"Oh, right." Peter said.
The players all got together in the I position again, then one of the Badgers passed to Jordan, who backed away as some of his friends tried to tackle some of the Tigers. He then gasped as two of them body tackled him, knocking him down onto his back, making the ball fly out of his hand, then one of the Tigers caught it, and began to run along the pitch.
"Bell, over here!" Flash called, running nearby.
Bell turned to him, then passed to him just as Jordan tackled him, then Flash caught the ball.
"Flash, come on!" Randy called.
Flash ran along the pitch, then saw Randy near the Badgers goal, then he threw the football at him, when two Badgers tackled him hard.
"Flash Thompson unleashes the bomb, and..."
Randy dived forward and caught the ball and dived towards the goal, scoring.
"Robinson catches it!"
The Midtown supporters and Cheerleaders all cheered and whoop.
"Midtown Tigers score! Midtown led 12 to 0... Wait, something's wrong."
Everyone stopped cheering, then the Ref and Coach Wilson ran towards Flash, who lay on the ground, then Randy and players from both teams ran towards him.
"Thompson's down!"
"Flash?!" Liz gasped.
She ran over to him, along with some of the other Cheerleaders, including Sally.
"What's happened?" Randy asked.
"I don't know." Coach Wilson said. "Flash, what's wrong?"
"My... My leg!" Flash moaned. "I can't move it!"
"Ah!" Liz gasped.
"Robinson, take over as quarterback!" Coach Wilson barked. "Johnson, Bell, get Flash off the pitch until the Doctor arrives!"
Bell and Johnson both picked Flash up - Bell by the legs, Johnson by the arms, then began to carry him away, as the Coach turned to the reserve players.
"Richards, get in here!" he roared.
Richards got up and ran towards him, passing Bell and Johnson as he did. As that happened however, Peter and Gwen both spotted electricity moving through the scoreboard sign, before it vanished, then they both took out their phones to text each other.
"You see that, Gwen?"
"Yeah, I did. Let's make sure Flash is okay before we investigate though."
"Agreed. We can't do it through till after the game."
"Understood."
Peter put his phone away before turning to Gwen, who did the same, before they both nodded at each other.
A little later, inside the warehouse from last night, Electro came out of a power generator, then panted.
"I failed in turning Prof. Williams into another me." he moaned. "Good thing she was just a test subject. I now know what went wrong; I didn't have enough juice to make it work."
He looked around the warehouse, seeing the place was covered in electrical power appliances.
"This is it. This is the one place I know it'll work." he said. "I won't make the same mistake as last time, and I know just who to do it to."
He sighed as he turned around and began to move through the electrical wires.
"We'll be reunited together again soon, my love." he thought.
His power carried him out of the warehouse and along a power line outside, while what he did to the generator, started to cause a blackout in the city, starting with the area of the warehouse.
Later, at the hospital, Liz, Randy, Sally, the rest of the Football team, and Flash's parents and sister Jessie were all in the waiting room, as the match had ended over half-an-hour ago. It was the same hospital Aunt May had been in when she had her heart attack last year, and also the one Rio Morales had transferred too nearly a month ago.
"I hope he's okay." Liz wept softly.
"Liz, I'm sure he's fine." Randy assured, wrapping his arm around her. "The Doctors will take care of him."
Sally looked over at them as Liz cried, feeling sorry for her.
"I need to talk to her soon." she sighed. "But not now. I'll wait till we know if Flash is okay."
Randy got up and approached the rest of the team, as Liz walked over to Flash's family.
"Did you see what happened?" Mr. Thompson asked.
"He got tackled badly by two of the opposing team." Liz explained.
"They should be kicked off it then!" Mr. Thompson growled.
"Dear, no!" his wife said, touching his arm. "Liz, did they mean it?"
"Well, I don't think so." Liz said. "Even they were shocked by what they did to Flash. They might've not known their own strength and hurt him more than they thought."
"That rules this up as an accident, dear." Mrs. Thompson said. "I'm sure those boys feel responsible for it and regret it."
"Well, they better." her husband said.
Liz sighed and sat down beside Jessie, who was crying.
"You okay, Jess?" she asked.
"Yeah, I'm just worried about my big brother." Jessie cried.
Liz wrapped her arm around her, letting her cry on her shoulder, while trying to hold back her own tears. At that moment however, the power went out, as the lights all turned off.
"Huh?" Sally muttered.
Everyone looked around
In the surgery room, Flash lay on a stretcher bed, linked to anaesthetic, as his leg had to be operated on, as three Doctors and two Nurses - including Rio Morales - stood around him.
"Oh, no!" the Nurse gasped. "We can do this in the dark."
"What could've happened?" Rio wondered.
"I hope it's just a small power failure." the head Doctor said. "Otherwise, we won't be able to operate on this boy and save his life."
Outside, Spider-Man and Ghost Spider were both on a rooftop, seeing the power go out all over the city, as they both followed the Ambulance to the Hospital, which they were both staring at from across the street.
"You're right. Electro is back!" Ghost Spider said. "Only he can do something like this."
"We better find him and stop him, otherwise Flash's leg won't be able to be operated on." Spider-Man said. "As well as everyone else in there."
"I just wish I knew what he's planning." Ghost Spider said.
"I know, me too." Spider-Man said. "Come on."
They both jumped off the rooftop and began to swing off in search for Electro, wondering what he was doing.
In an apartment building, a woman named Norma Lynn was lying on her bed, reading a book, with the only light being a lamp. She sighed as she closed it, then got up to walk towards her bathroom, when she heard a noise.
"Huh?" she muttered.
She walked backwards her bed, when electricity came out of her light on the ceiling.
"AH!" she gasped, falling onto her bed.
She looked at the light, as electricity came down from the light and into her TV. It then made the screen blurry, before Electro came out of it, moaning.
"AH!" he moaned.
"Who... What are you?" Norma cried.
"Norma, it's me." Electro said. "Don't you remember your old boyfriend."
Norma gasped. "Max? Is this a joke?" she asked.
"No." Electro said.
"You're... You're Electro the supervillain?" Norma cried. "Why?"
"Little accident." Electro replied. "But I'm tired of being the only one."
"What do you mean?" Norma panicked.
"It's time for you to join me, my love." Electro said.
"NOOOO!" Norma cried.
A little later, Dr. Connors walked down the hallway towards Norma's room, wanting to check on her.
"If Max is going after the people he cares for, Norma's bound to be a target." he thought.
He stopped outside her door, then opened it up.
"Norma, I was-" he began, before seeing she was gone. "Oh, no."
He looked around, seeing Electro had left a burnt mark on the bed, shaped like a Human, then took his phone out of his pocket.
"I better call Peter so he can tell Spider-Man." he thought.
In the city, the Spider-Duo kept swinging around for Electro, but saw no sign of him.
"Still no sign of Electro." Ghost Spider said.
"I know what you mean." Spider-Man said, before his phone rang. "Huh? Ghost, land on that rooftop!"
He pointed at it ahead of them, then they both landed on the rooftop, then Spider-Man took out his phone and put it to his ear.
"Hello?" he said.
"Peter?" came Dr. Connors' voice.
"Dr. Connors?" Spider-Man said. "What's wrong?"
"Peter, I need you to tell Spider-Man that Max has kidnapped someone." Dr. Connors explained.
"Uh, right." Spider-Man said. "But who?"
"Max's old girlfriend, Norma Lynn." Dr. Connors explained.
"Oh, no!" Spider-Man gasped.
"Spidey, what is it?" Ghost Spider asked.
"In a minute?" Spider-Man asked. "Anything else?"
"Yes. I believe Max may be trying to do what he did Prof. Willaims." Dr. Connors explained.
"You sure, Doc?" Spider-Man asked.
"Yes." Dr. Connors explained. "Make sure you tell Spider-Man this."
"I will." Spider-Man said, before hanging up.
"Spidey, what was he talking about?" Ghost Spider asked.
"Last night, Electro told me he was sick of being the only Electro in the city." Spider-Man recalled. "I think he was trying to turn Prof. Willaims into another Electro."
"Oh, my gosh!" Ghost Spider gasped, covering her mouth area with her hands. "That's... That's horrible."
"And if I'm right, there's only one place that'll have the electrical supply he needs to try again." Spider-Man said. "Dr. Connors told me he's kidnapped someone and is gonna try and do that again."
"Well, where's the place that has the power he needs?" Ghost Spider asked.
"The warehouse I thought I saw him trying to cut up those two kids." Spider-Man explained. "That's probably how he's causing this power failure, and he'll need it all to make his experiment work. Come on."
They both jumped off the rooftop and began to swing off towards the warehouse, hoping to be there in time.
Meanwhile, in the warehouse, Electro was holding Norma up in the air with his electricity with his left hand, while shooting some from his right at a nearby generator.
"Please? Don't do this to me?" Norma cried.
"I can learn from my mistake, Norma." he said. "I'll get it right this time."
"No! Please, why me?" Norma cried.
"Norma, I love you!" Electro declared. "You smiled at me and showed carness to me. No one ever did that before."
"No! Please?!" Norma cried. "AGHHH!"
"You still love me, don't you, Norma?" Electro asked. "Don't you?"
He shot more electricity from his hand at Norma.
"AGHHH!" she screamed.
Electro moved his right hand away from the generator, then used his power to pick up a fire extinguisher. He lifted it up and sprayed the foam inside at Norma, covering her up in a cloud, before he dropped it. He then turned and used his power to pull a cable up that was connected to the generator, which powered up, then he held it up. He moved slowly towards Norma sadly, as the generator switch flicked on.
"Norma, this hurts me more than it hurts you." he said sadly.
"Hold it right there!" a male voice yelled.
Electro stopped and turned, as the Spider Duo both smashed through the skylight windows in the ceiling, then dived down towards the floor. They both landed in a three-point stance, then looked up as Electro looked down at them.
"I told you; stay out of this, Spider-Man!" Electro roared.
He shot electricity from his right hand at them both, but missed as they both jumped up and back flipped away, landing near the generator.
"Max, stop!" Ghost Spider yelled. "You don't know what you're doing?"
"I know perfectly well what I'm doing!" Electro roared.
He shot electricity from the cable at her, making her jump up and away, before he shot some from his hand, hitting her as she landed on the floor.
"AHH!" she moaned, as she went flying into a wall. "AH!"
"GHOST!" Spider-Man cried, as she fell onto her chest.
He turned from her to Electro, who shot electricity at him. His Spider-Sense tingled, but it came too late, as when he jumped, the electricity hit him and knocked him over to where Ghost Spider was.
"AH!" he moaned, landing right near his girlfriend.
Electro turned to Norma and shot electricity from the cable at her. Norma screamed, before she began to turn into another Electro, only her hair was smaller.
"Oh!" Ghost Spider moaned.
She lifted her head up and touched the back of it, before turning to Spider-Man.
"Spidey, you okay?" she asked.
"Yeah." Spider-Man moaned, lifting his head up. "Look!"
Ghost Spider turned and saw Electro had almost turned Norma into another Electro.
"Oh, no!" she gasped. "Got any ideas on how to stop him?"
"I'm working on it." Spider-Man said.
"Please? I can't...feel?" Norma pleaded.
"You'll learn to, my love." Electro assured.
Both Spiders looked around, before Ghost Spider spotted a box with the words 'High Voltage Storage Container'.
"Spidey, over there!" she said, pointing at it.
Spider-Man turned to it and saw what she had in mind.
"I see what you've got in mind." Spider-Man said. "Come on."
They both ran over to it, then looked around it, before Spider-Man pulled out the plug.
"What are you doing?" Ghost Spider asked quietly.
"We need to plug this into Electro and suck him into it, right?" Spider-Man said.
"Yeah." Ghost Spider said, before seeing what he meant. "You mean, one of us is gonna have to touch him?"
"Yeah." Spider-Man nodded. "I'll do it, then you catch Ms. Lynn."
"Okay, but be careful." Ghost Spider said softly.
Spider-Man nodded, then he jumped up as Electro let go of Norma. He put both his hands above him, then began to make an electric ball with them, as Spider-Man grabbed his right leg.
"AHH!" he gritted, as electricity went through him and the plug cable.
"Ah!" Ghost Spider gasped, covering her mouth area.
Electro threw his hands forward, but his electric ball vanished. He looked at Norma as she lowered down, before she turned back to normal.
"NOOO!" he cried.
He turned around and saw Spider-Man holding his leg, as he began to lose his powers.
"AHHHH!" Electro screamed.
He began to get sucked into the cable, then down into the box, as Norma landed on the floor on her side.
"It worked!" Spider-Man panted.
He let go of the cable, making him fall down towards the floor, before Ghost Spider caught him bridle style.
"I got ya." she said, as they looked at each other.
"Thanks, but this is weird." Spider-Man said. "I should be the one catching you."
"Still, doesn't hurt to change." Ghost Spider teased, putting him down.
"Still, thanks, Ghostie." Spider-Man said.
They both turned to Norma.
"Ghost, you get her outta here." Spider-Man said. "I'll follow in a minute with the box."
"Okay. Be quick?" Ghost Spider said.
"I will." Spider-Man promised.
Ghost Spider picked up Norma and put her over her shoulder, then jumped up and began to swing off out of the warehouse. Once she was, she landed in a street and put Norma down, while also seeing the power was back in in the city.
"Well, that's some good news." she thought, before turning to the warehouse. "Come on, Spidey? Get outta there."
She stared the warehouse, before Spider-Man came jumping out through a window, which he smashed along the way, then he landed near a car, holding the box Electro was trapped in.
"Well, that takes care of that." Spider-Man sighed.
"What do you mean?" Ghost Spider asked.
"Electro's trapped in here for now." Spider-Man explained, pointing at the box. "I'm gonna call Iron Man to tell SHIELD to pick it up. He's too dangerous for a normal jail until Dr. Connors can cure him."
"Okay." Ghost Spider said. "So, shall I keep an eye on it until you've made the call."
"Yeah." Spider-Man said.
He took out his phone and began to call Iron Man, who could then call SHIELD to take Electro away, as Ghost Spider kept her eyes on the box.
A little later, Coulson stood with Spider-Man, as two SHIELD agents loaded the box onto a jet, while Ghost Spider saw a Doctor load Norma up onto an Ambulance, who still looked petrified about what had happened to her.
"You think that box can hold him?" Coulson asked.
"I'm not sure." Spider-Man sighed. "I think it will for now, but not when you reach the Helicarrier. So, make you sure you put him in the most fullproof cell, otherwise he'll escape and try and do what he almost did to that woman."
"Understood." Coulson said. "We'll get in touch with your friend Dr. Connors and try and help him cure Electro."
"Thanks, Agent Coulson." Spider-Man said.
They both turned as they heard footsteps and saw Ghost Spider coming over towards them.
"How's the woman?" Coulson asked.
"She'll be okay, but she's pretty shaken." Ghost Spider explained.
"I'm not surprised." Coulson sighed. "Anyway, we'll make sure to keep Electro locked up until he can be cured. I promise he won't get away."
"Thanks." Spider-Man said.
Coulson turned and walked towards the jet, then board it, as the Spiders turned to each other.
"Come on, we better get back to the hospital." Spider-Man said.
"Right behind you, Spider-Man." Ghost Spider said.
They both jumped up and began to swing off back towards the hospital, hoping that Flash had now been in surgery.
Later, at the hospital, Peter and Gwen stormed in, seeing Liz, Sally, Randy and the rest of the football team. Also there, was Flash's parents Harrison and Rosie, and a little girl they didn't recognize.
"How is he?" Gwen asked.
"Don't know. He's still in surgery." Liz explained.
The blonde girl got up and walked towards them all.
"I hope my brother's okay." she said.
Peter gasped, realizing this was Jessie, Flash's little sister, who neither he nor Gwen had seen in years.
"Jessie, is that you?" Peter asked.
"Yeah." Jessie sighed.
"Wow. Didn't recognize you there." Gwen said. "You've grown a bit since we last saw you."
"Thanks." Jessie said.
Randy came over to them all.
"I'm sure he's okay." he said, touching Jessie's sister. "Flash's tough. He'll pull through, especially now the power's back on."
Jessie lowered her head and sighed, when the door opened up, getting everyone's attention, then Rio Morales and an Asian Doctor both came out.
"How is he?" Mrs. Thompson asked.
"Well, he's okay." Rio assured. "But, I'm afraid he badly broke his leg. He'll be in a cast for quite a while."
"Yeah. He did great though." the Doctor assured.
Everyone sighed in relief.
"Immediate family only." the Doctor said.
Liz sighed as Flash's family followed him down the hallway, as Randy looked at Peter and Gwen.
"Who's gonna take over as quarterback till he's fully recovered?" Peter asked.
"Well, Coach Wilson always said after Flash, I was the best." Randy explained, sadly. "So, I guess it's me."
"Well, you don't sound so happy about it?" Gwen noted.
"I never wanted to be quarterback, not this way anyhow." Randy explained. "I'd rather be chosen or take Flash's place like we take turns, not while he's injured."
"I'm sure Flash will understand, Randy." Peter said. "You're his best friend after all."
"Thanks, Pete." Randy said.
He turned and walked off as Liz stared at them, just as Sally came over to her.
"You okay?" Sally asked.
"Yeah. Thanks for coming over." Liz said. "I know we haven't-"
"I know, and I'm sorry." Sally sighed.
Peter and Gwen both turned and looked at them.
"Liz, I've really missed you." Sally sighed. "How did we fall out with each other?"
"Us arguing about me spending time with Peter since he has to tutor me." Liz explained, folding her arms. "You got mad at me and snapped at me. That really hurt, Sally. I'm lucky Glory didn't fall out with me."
"Guess I just couldn't stand seeing my friends all acting nice to the geeks." Sally sighed.
"Well, they're not geeks, Sally!" Liz snarled. "Petey's taught me a lot and has really helped me out. I think I have a better chance of getting into collage thanks to him."
Sally sighed. "I..." she said. "I need to tell you something."
Liz looked confused as Sally dragged her away slightly, putting her out of earshot of all but Peter and Gwen.
"Wonder what's going on?" Gwen whispered.
"I don't know." Peter replied quietly.
They both slowly moved towards the two cheerleaders, as they stopped and turned to each other.
"I've been assigned a geek tutor myself." Sally explained quietly.
"You... You have? In what area?" Liz asked, as Sally had always been slightly better at Science than her.
"History." Sally sighed. "Apparently I've been getting many things wrong this past year."
"You think our ruined friendship might be part of it?" Liz inquired, folding her arms.
"Yes." Sally sighed. "I wanna make amends."
Liz looked at her, her face expression telling her she was serious.
"I do too, but you have to promise to stop annoying Peter and his friends?" Liz asked. "Maybe hanging out with your tutor might make you change your views on them. I know nearly everyone else has."
"Okay." Sally agreed. "Deal. My first session with him is tomorrow though."
"Well, mine's the day after." Liz explained. "After that though, I'm free. You wanna hang out then?"
"Sure." Sally said.
They both hugged each other, happy that their friendship was on the mend.
"Well, that's something that's been fixed." Gwen noted, as the cheerleaders pulled apart.
"Yeah. Maybe Sally will turn over a new leaf like Liz and Flash did, giving time that is." Peter hoped, before he saw the clock, which read 9:45. "We better get home. It's almost curfew."
"Right. At least if we're late, we can tell Dad and Aunt May what happened, and we'll have people to back it up." Gwen said.
Peter smiled and kissed Gwen's nose, before they both turned and walked down the hallway, ready to go home after this mess tonight.
A/N: Rocky Flint and Lynn Sakura are two of Anya's best friends in the comics, in case you're wondering. Rocky's her current roommate, while Lynn was her best friend in High School.
Norma Lynn is Electro's ex-wife in the comics.
I named Midtown High's football team the Midtown Tigers, as in Marvel's Spider-Man, since it's the only show where the team's named.
