A/N: Gwen and Miles don't do much in this one, action wise at least.

Please read and review?

This is another long one, but it includes a bunch of translations I'd put up.

In the city, on the night of April 18th, the Spider Trio all swung through the city together, laughing.

"Now this is fun!" Ghost Spider called, teasingly, as she took the lead.

"Sure is, Ghost!" Spider-Man called. "Wahoo!"

"Man, you weren't kidding when you said she's the fastest!" Shadow-Spider called.

"I warned you, Shadow!" Spider-Man teased.

They all landed on a rooftop near each other, Ghost Spider first, with the boys a whole minute later, Spider-Man beating Shadow-Spider by five seconds.

"Ha! I beat you both, slowpokes." she teased, pointing at them.

"Very funny!" Shadow-Spider said, annoyed, folding his arms.

"Still, it was a nice race." Spider-Man joked. "And nice to have more than just the two of us, eh Ghostie."

"You said it, Spidey." Ghost Spider teased, punching his arm playfully.

"So, what'd you think, Shadow?" Spider-Man asked.

"Well, it was fine. But level with me, is Ghost always gonna win?" Shadow-Spider asked.

"Yep." Ghost Spider grinned.

"So always did when it was just us." Spider-Man assured.

"Great!" Shadow-Spider said sarcastically, lowering his arms. "If she's gonna win all the time, it won't be fun."

"Ah, don't be so shallow, Shadow." Ghost Spider teased. "We do it just for fun when there's no trouble lurking around the city."

"Yeah, like tonight, as there's been no trouble." Spider-Man said.

"True." Shadow-Spider sighed. "Look, I better get back. Mom's cooking my favourite tonight and I wanna be there in time."

"Sure, go on. It's getting late anyway." Spider-Man said.

Shadow-Spider nodded, before he turned and jumped off the rooftop, then he began to swing off, as the other two turned to each other.

"He sure is coming a long way." Ghost Spider noted.

"You said it, Ghostie, all thanks to us and Jess." Spider-Man said. "But he still has much to learn."

"I thought you didn't like Star Wars?" Ghost Spider teased.

"I don't." Spider-Man assured. "Couldn't think of how else to put it, dear."

"Oh, come here, bug-boy?" Ghost Spider teased, motioning him with her finger.

They raised their masks up to their to their noses and kissed each other, which lasted a full minute before they parted.

"I'll see you tomorrow at Macy's Mall, right?" Ghost Spider said, before lowering her mask. "We said we'd meet MJ and Anya there, remember?"

"I gotta drop something off at the Bugle first, but I'll meet you and the others there." Spider-Man promised, lowering his mask.

"Okay." Ghost Spider said. "I love you, web-head."

"Same here, Ghostie." Spider-Man said. "See you tomorrow."

"See you." Ghost Spider said.

They both hugged each other, then parted, before they jumped off the rooftop and swung off in different directions towards their homes.

The next day, Gwen met up with Anya and Mary Jane outside Macy's Mall in Herald Square, who both stood by the entrance.

"Hey, girls!" Gwen called.

Her friends turned to her and smiled as she came over to them, then she high-fived Mary Jane, and then Anya.

"Glad you made it, Gwen." Anya said. "Is Peter coming?"

"He had to run an errand at the Bugle first." Gwen explained. "Said he'd join us later. Is Harry coming?"

"Nah. He told me his Dad needed him for something, so he can't make it." Mary Jane said.

"Guess it's just us girls for now then." Anya said. "Come on."

All three girls smiled and entered the Mall together as Anya opened up the door.

"So, you'd like the Easter Eggs I got you?" Mary Jane asked, as it had been Good Friday on the 15th, the day Kingpin made the announcement for Fisktronics.

"Oh, I loved mine, MJ." Gwen said. "My second favourite chocolate. Peter got me my best."

"Mine was okay." Anya assured. "What about you?"

"Oh, I loved 'em, girls." Mary Jane said. "I was lucky my birthday was just before it, more chocolate."

"Oh, hardy, hardy haw." Gwen teased. "Next year, it might not be."

"Funny." Mary Jane scoffed. "Now, come on?"

They all turned and walked along the Mall, seeing the place was crowded with more people, before Miles and his friend Ganke Lee came towards them all.

"Miles? Quite a surprise." Gwen said.

"Sure is, Gwen." Miles said. "MJ, Anya."

Both girls smiled as Ganke looked amongst them all.

"Uh, Miles?" he said.

"Oh, right. Girls, this is Ganke, my best friend from my old school." Miles explained.

"Nice to meet you." Gwen said, holding her hand out. "Gwen Stacy."

Ganke shook her hand, as Mary Jane and Anya held out theirs.

"Mary Jane Watson, but I prefer MJ." Mary Jane said.

"Anya Corazon." Anya said.

Ganke shook Mary Jane's hand, then Anya's, before he moved away.

"Where's Peter and Harry?" Miles asked.

Before Gwen or Mary Jane could answer, a voice the girls found familiar called over to them.

"Hey, Anya!" it called.

The five teens all turned and saw Anya's friends Rocky and Lynn approaching them all.

"Lynn? Rocky?" Anya said happily.

She ran towards them both and pulled them into a group hug, which they both returned.

"This is a surprise." Rocky said, as they pulled apart.

"Sure is." Anya said.

She turned as the other teens came towards the girls.

"Friends of yours?" Ganke assumed.

"Yeah." Anya said, moving so she was between both sets. "You two remember Gwen and MJ, right?"

"Of course." Rocky said, shaking Gwen's hand.

Lynn shook Mary Jane's, as they both looked at the boys.

"You must be Miles, the boy Anya's been helping around Midtown?" Lynn inquired, looking at him.

Miles looked from her to Anya.

"I told them what you looked like when we met the night Flash broke his leg." she said.

"Oh." Miles said. "Well, nice to meet you."

"I'm Ganke, Miles' old friend from school." Ganke said. "So, we're kind of the same, losing a friend to a new school."

"I guess we are." Lynn teased.

Rocky giggled, when gunfire went off, making everyone cover their ears.

"Ah! Did your ears just pop?" Gwen asked, lowering her hands.

"Yeah, actually." Anya said.

"That sounded like gunfire!" Mary Jane gasped.

They all looked around, seeing people get herded together like cattle by people in suits and masks, which they couldn't see as their backs were to them.

"What are those people?" Anya panicked.

Six of the goons came towards Miles, Ganke and all the girls from behind, then four held up pistols, while two held up Uzis. They all turned around to them, and Gwen recognized them as some of Mr. Negative's Inner Demons from last Valentines Day, as they all had their masks on.

"Move!" one roared.

The teens all held up their hands and moved away as the six thugs followed them all.

"This isn't how I thought we'd spend our day." Mary Jane gulped.

"I know. I'm glad Peter's not here now." Gwen whispered.

That was for two reasons; one, as he wasn't here being held hostage, and two, so he could show up as Spider-Man to save them all, for she knew she and Miles had no chance sneaking away to change with so many people around.

The seven teens all kept getting led away, seeing more goons all over, leading more people away as hostages. They then all saw Mr. Negative and several more of his Demons, before they looked around at the hostages, and saw Liz, Sally, Randy and Gloria among the large group.

"None of you move!" a Demon roared, pointing at a pistol at them. "This will all be over soon."

Gwen, Miles, Mary Jane, Anya, Ganke, Rocky and Lynn all moved towards the hostages, as more people got moved towards them all. They all fell to their knees near the other hostages, as Liz, Sally, Randy and Gloria spotted them.

"What are these guys, and what do they want?" Sally wondered.

"I have no idea." Gwen lied, since apart from Miles, she couldn't tell anyone. "But this can't be good."

She winked at Miles when the others weren't looking, who nodded, telling him she'd dealt with the Demons before.

"So, what are they doing?" Liz asked worriedly.

"I think we're about to find out." Anya gulped. "Look?"

Everyone turned as several Demons aimed their guns at them, which ranged from sidearms and semi-automatics. Some of them moved aside as one Demon wearing a more menacing mask than most and body armor approached the hostages.

"You stay here until the Boss comes over." he said. "He has an announcement to make to all of you."

"Who's their Boss?" Ganke whispered.

"I have no clue." Gwen lied.

"This isn't good." Randy said. "My Dad hasn't said a word about these guys."

"Then, what are they going to do with us?" Gloria asked worriedly.

Liz shuddered and began to cry, as Sally hugged her, as they'd been repairing their friendship since Easter vacation had began.

"I'm sure we'll be okay, Liz." she said quietly.

Gwen and Miles looked at all the hostages, seeing how worried they all were.

"Uh, look?" Mary Jane gasped.

Everyone turned as Mr. Negative approached them all, in his Demon appearance.

"Stay clam and none of you will be harmed." he said. "This won't take long."

One of his Demons whispered into his ear.

"You will remain here until we leave, then you'll be free to go" Mr. Negative said, looking at the hostages.

He turned and walked off slightly with several of his Demons, while a few remained watching the hostages.

"I have a feeling he's not gonna keep his word." Gloria gulped.

"Same here." Liz said. "And that guy is freaky."

"Tell me about it." Anya agreed. "I wonder what happened to him to make him turn out like that?"

As most of the hostages all began to talk quietly amongst themselves, Gwen, Miles and Mary Jane all turned and saw Mr. Negative standing with some of his Demons.

"Zhè jiùshì tāmen suǒyǒu rén, dàn tāmen zhōng de yīxiē rén táotuōle." one Demon said, in Chinese.

"Ránhòu jǐngchá hěn kuài jiù huì dàodá." Mr. Negative realized. "Zhào, zài wǒmen líkāi zhīqián, nǐ fùzé zhèlǐ de rénzhì."

"Shì de, lǎobǎn." Zhao said, who stood on his left - the one wearing the body armor - nodding.

Mr. Negative and most of his men walked off, leaving about 9 behind, including Zhao.

Gwen gulped, not liking what these guys had planned, as Anya - who'd overheard the Demons - and Mary Jane leaned towards her.

"What language are they're speaking?" Mary Jane asked quietly.

"Chinese." Gwen whispered. "I've heard people speak it in Chinatown when I've been at FEAST."

"Well, what did they say?" Anya asked worriedly.

"I...I don't know. I haven't practiced it since at FEAST, they all speak English." Gwen explained.

Most of the hostages looked at Zhao and the other 8 Demons, three of which paced around the circle, two of which sat in chairs, while the rest remained standing. Everyone looked from one to another, most of them looking worried.

"I'm sure Spider-Man and his friends will come." Mary Jane said. "They've never let the city down before."

Gwen and Miles both did their best to hide a smile, as no one else knew Peter would be on his own, since the other Spiders were among the hostages.

"We've gotta get outta here." Miles whispered.

He was about to sneak off through a gap in the Demons, when Gwen grabbed his arm and shook her head.

"It's too risky." she whispered. "There's too many people around. We'll have to hope Peter gets here soon and can handle this by himself."

Miles sighed and nodded, seeing her point.

Outside the mall, several Police cars and vans had all pulled up outside, along with News vans, before everyone piled out. Among the Cops were Capt. Stacy, Lt. DeWolff, Stan Carter and Sgt. Davis, as they all took cover behind the vehicles.

"This is weird." Carter said. "Just what is going on in there?"

"Stan, enough!" Lt. DeWolff snapped. "There's hostages in there from what I've gathered."

"Well, that place is filled with many people." a African Cop said. "I'd be surprised if there wasn't any."

Capt. Stacy looked at the Mall nervously, as Sgt. Davis approached him.

"I hope Miles is okay." the Sgt. sighed. "He was in there with friends."

"So was Gwen." Capt. Stacy sighed. "This isn't the first time she's been in this mess, but I know she'll be okay."

"For now at least." the Sgt. said. "If they start making reprisals, who knows what might happen."

"Well, we won't know until we know what they want." the Capt. said.

All the Cops kept their eyes on the mall, when the door opened up.

"Sir, look?" Sgt. Davis said, pointing at it.

Capt. Stacy turned and saw three Demons coming out of the mall, one holding a makeshift white flag.

"You think they're surrendering?" the Sgt. asked.

"I doubt it." Capt. Stacy said. "I think they want to tell us their demands. Cover me?"

He began to approach the Demons as the other Cops all kept their eyes on them.

"I'm Capt. Stacy of the NYPD." he said, as they stopped halfway from each other. "What do you want?"

"Are those men gonna fire?" the head Demon asked.

"No, as long as you don't." the Capt. assured.

"Then here our his demands. We want this broadcast on the News." the head Demon said. "Make sure the TV press know about this."

"They will, but it will take time for them to arrive." Capt. Stacy said.

"We know that." the head Demon said. "You have one hour, or else a hostage will die."

"Understood." Capt. Stacy said. "We'll have them here by then."

He handed one of the other Demons a phone.

"That's for your Boss, so he can talk to us more directly." he said.

"Okay. You're lucky our Boss speaks English, Capt." the head Demon said.

He and his friends all turned and walked back into the mall, as Capt. Stacy turned and walked towards the other Cops.

"You heard them, they want the News to broadcast this." he said. "Let them know."

Lt. DeWolff nodded and took out her phone, before she began to call the nearest News Station, for the better chance to keep the hostages alive.

About 70 minutes later, Peter was walking down a street, having just left the Bugle, when he passed by a TV store, which showed the News on.

"We interrupt this program with an urgent News Bulletin." the Newsman reported.

Several people gathered around Peter, all looking at the news.

"There has been a hostage crisis taking place in Hell's Kitchen, at Marcy's Mall in Herald Square." the Newsman explained.

"Huh?" several people muttered.

"That's the Mall I'm meant to meet Gwen and the others." Peter thought, gasping.

"The number of suspects totals around 50 men, who have taken over part of the Macy's Mall, taking around 300 hostages." the Newsman reported.

"300 hostages?" an African man gasped, covering his mouth.

"We have managed to get an image of what is going on, showing several of the Hostages." the Newsman reported.

A screenshot of the situation popped up, showing several hostages, including Gwen, Miles, Anya, Mary Jane, Rocky, Lynn, Liz, Sally, Gloria and Randy.

"Oh, no!" Peter gasped.

"We do not know what they want, but they have warned the Police not to get too close or they'll start killing the hostages off." the Newsman continued.

"This is outrageous!" a man exclaimed.

"I hope no one gets hurt." a woman said, worriedly.

"Oh, man!" Peter thought. "I've gotta get over and help. But I can't take on that many goons on alone. And Gwen and Miles can't use their powers with all those people around, and those goons are bound to be blocking all the exits to prevent them from leaving."

He turned and ran off into an alley, then began to jump from wall to wall, until he made it to the rooftop.

"I'm gonna need help for this one." he realized. "But from where?"

He changed into Spider-Man, then he jumped off the rooftop and began to swing off, thinking about where he was gonna get help from.

At Macy's Mall, Gwen and Miles looked around at all the hostages, as the 9 Demons guarding them stood or sat in chairs around them all.

"Just what are they here for?" Ganke wondered.

"You got me." Anya said. "I guess they don't want of of us to see it."

Gwen looked around, before Miles poked her arm, getting her attetion.

"Look?" he whispered.

They both turned and saw several Demons walking off with backpacks full of stuff.

"That must be what they're after." Gwen whispered. "But why?"

"You got me?" Miles whispered.

Nearby, Mr. Negative spoke with two of his Demons, as they were his Lt's. in this siege, expect Chin and Zhao who were outside or with the hostages. Gwen turned to them all as they began to speak.

"Wǒmen xūyào duō cháng shíjiān cáinéng dédào zuìhòu xūyào de dōngxī?" Mr. Negative asked.

"Dàyuē hái yǒu jǐ gè xiǎoshí." one said.

"Wàimiàn de qíngkuàng zěnme yàng?" Mr. Negative asked.

"Chin méiyǒu zài wàimiàn bàogào rènhé shìqíng. Jǐngchá zhèngzài bǎochí jùlí." the first said.

"Hǎo de. Yīdàn wǒmen dédàole wǒmen xūyào de yīqiè, wǒmen jiù líkāi zhèlǐ." Mr. Negative said.

"Rénzhì ne?" the other Demon said.

"Wǒmen bǎ tāmen liú zài zhèlǐ ràng jǐngchá zhàogù. Tāmen bèi gàozhī zài wǒmen líkāi hòu děng wǔ fēnzhōng, ránhòu guòlái jiē tāmen." Mr. Negative said.

His two Demon Lt.s nodded, as Gwen kept her eyes on them, for she had a bad feeling.

"Peter, I hope you're coming, 'cause I have a feeling they're not gonna leave us alive." she thought.

She looked at the other hostages, seeing everyone looking worried, including Miles.

Later, Spider-Man was swinging through the city, before he landed on a wall near the Secret Warriors base.

"I can't ask the Avengers for help as this is small compared to them. The Fantastic Four are away as I couldn't get ahold of Johnny, and the X-Men's Blackbird would attract a lot of attention, even if they did land far away from here." he thought. "I'm gonna have to ask them. I just hope they're not busy."

He jumped off the wall and glided down towards the ground, landing outside the garage. He walked inside, then approached the hidden elevator shaft, which he stepped into, before it shot down.

"I hope they're here." he thought.

He had tried to call Daisy in advance, but his phone had died not long after he tried calling his friend, Johnny Storm. Once the elevator reached the bottom, he walked out of it, but saw the Rec Room was empty.

"Okay..." he thought.

His Spider-Sense tingled as an alarm went off, making he jump and stick to the ceiling, then moved to a shadow area, as a door opened.

"Man, I wish I had Miles' power of invisibility." he thought.

Daisy came into the room via the door, followed by Iron Fist, Power Man, and Patriot. Another door opened, then the rest of the Secret Warriors came in, all of them looking around.

"Who do you think's here?" Patriot asked.

"I'm not sure." Daisy said.

They kept looking around, before Nova flew up and saw Spider-Man.

"Spider-Man?" he said.

The other heroes all turned as Spider-Man sighed, then lowered himself down on a web-line yo-yo. They all backed away slightly as he did, as Nova landed on the ground.

"Quite an entrance." Ms. Marvel remarked, blushing.

"Yeah, you set off the alarm." Patriot noted.

"I didn't mean too." Spider-Man assured. "Where'd it come from anyway. It wasn't there when Ghost and I came here last time."

"New security measures." Daisy explained. "Maybe if you've called first, I would've deactivated them."

"Well, sorry. My phone died so I couldn't call to let you know." Spider-Man explained.

"Oh, right." Daisy said. "I better get it updated then."

"I take it there's a reason you're here?" Patriot inquired.

"Yeah, I am." Spider-Man said.

He jumped down and landed on his feet, as Inferno and Ms. America both looked at him curiously.

"What?" he asked.

"You're... You're shorter than I expected, Spider-Man." Ms. America admitted.

"Same here." Inferno said. "From what the others told me about you and Ghostie, I thought different."

Spider-Man eyed Inferno, who had blushed when mentioning Gwen.

"Anyway, why are you here?" Daisy asked.

"Well, have you been watching the News?" Spider-Man asked.

Most of the team looked at him blankly, expect for Inferno and Nova.

"Well, yeah. Some sort of hostage situation at Macy's Mall." Inferno recalled.

"Yeah. We we're watching the News earlier." Nova confirmed.

The others all looked at them, before turning back to Spider-Man.

"Well, what about it?" Daisy asked.

"I need help." Spider-Man said. "There's too many goons in there for me to handle alone."

The Secret Warriors all looked amongst themselves.

"I'm surprised you're not asking your fellow Spiders, Spider-Man?" Iron Fist noted.

Spider-Man looked at him.

"Daisy told us about that new kid you two are training yourselves." Iron Fist explained.

"Oh. Well, you see, I can't. Both Ghost and Shadow are among the hostages in there." Spider-Man explained. "They can't use their powers to help due to there being over 300 people in there, and there's no way they can sneak out to change."

Daisy turned to her team, then back to him, seeing he was desperate.

"I can spare half the team, but I need the rest." she explained. "We've got an assignment over in Brooklyn, but I don't need the whole team."

"I understand." Spider-Man said. "Is there anyone you really need though?"

"Well, I do need Ms. Marvel at least." Daisy said. "Her stretching abilities are gonna be needed where we're going."

Ms. Marvel frowned and folded her arms, as she had hoped to go with Spider-Man, as she hadn't gotten over her crush on him.

"Right. Well, any volunteers?" Spider-Man asked. "I'm not gonna force you all for this?"

"I'll go." White Tiger said, stepping forward. "You helped me out by stopping me from doing something I would've regretted. It's only fair I pay you back."

"I'll go too." Iron Fist said.

"If he's in, I'm in." Power Man said.

"Thanks." Spider-Man said.

He looked at the others, before Nova sighed.

"Wait, I'll come too." he said. "You and Ghost Spider helped me rescue my Dad. He may have made me join this group afterwards, but I have to admit, I have learned a few things here. I might as well repay you for helping."

"Okay, that's enough." Spider-Man said. "That's sort of half, right?"

"Yeah, it is, and good luck." Daisy said.

"Thanks." Spider-Man said, nodding. "Come on?"

He, Iron Fist, Power Man, White Tiger and Nova all entered the elevator, as the door closed behind Nova.

"We'll give them a few minutes, then we'll leave for our mission." Daisy explained.

"Right." Patriot said.

Inferno lowered his head slightly, as Ms. Marvel came towards him.

"Are you crushing on Ghost Spider?" she asked.

"No." Inferno assured. "I've never even met her. I just have a soft spot with girl heroes."

Ms. Marvel huffed. "Well, you've got no chance with her. She and Spidey are together for real." she explained. "I still crush on him, and haven't gotten over it."

"Oh... Thanks for the heads up." Inferno said.

Later, at the mall, the hostages all kept looking at the Demons guarding them, when one of them approached Zhao. Zhao turned to him as he whispered something in Chinese, which the hostages didn't understand, before he nodded.

"You people can relax." Zhao said. "None of you is going to be harmed if you do exactly as we say. This will all be over soon."

Many of the hostages gulped, including Liz, Sally, Gloria, Rocky, Lynn and Anya, while Randy and Ganke looked nervous. Mary Jane however turned to Miles and Gwen, who were looking around curiously.

"They must think the Spiders are coming too." she thought hopefully. "I just wish they'd let us make a phone call."

Outside, Capt. Stacy and the other Cops kept their eyes on the mall entrance, as they'd been following the demands of the Demons.

"How much long is this gonna go on?" Carter complained.

"They'll let us know when they're leaving." Capt. Stacy said. "If they were gonna break their promise they'd start shooting up the place."

He turned and walked over to Lt. DeWolff, who came towards him.

"Sir, there's more Demons around the back." she explained. "Not one Officer's covering that area."

"Take two cars and get around there." the Capt. instructed. "We don't know which way the hostages are gonna come out."

The Lt. nodded before she turned and ran off.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man, White Tiger, Nova, Iron Fist and Power Man were all on a rooftop nearby, out of sight from the guards outside the back.

"Okay, webs, I'll admit, that sure is a lot of them." Nova admitted. "But it looks like there's only ten or so?"

"Well, that's only the ones outside." Iron Fist said. "The rest must be indoors."

"Exactly how many goons are there, Spidey?" White Tiger asked.

"From what I've heard on the News, about 50." Spider-Man said.

"Outnumbered 10 to 1?" Power Man smirked, cracking his knuckles. "My kind of fight."

"But there might be more, it's just the rough guess." Spider-Man explained.

"Well, guess we'll have to see." Nova said.

"You think your friends might be able to help once we get them outta there?" White Tiger asked.

"I doubt it." Spider-Man said. "The News said there's around 300 hostages in there. They won't be able to sneak out to change without getting spotted. The odds of them getting away unnoticed are about 100 to 1, maybe higher."

"Guess we'll have to do it without them." Iron Fist sighed. "And once the hostages are rescued, they can at least try to help them while we deal with the head Goon."

"Yeah, so let's do it then." Nova said.

He turned to walk off, when Spider-Man grabbed his arm.

"Wait, we need to plan this carefully." Spider-Man said. "If we make one slipup, those people inside are gonna get killed. I've heard of plenty of hostage crisis' and nearly every one has a innocent person getting killed."

"Tell us what to do then?" White Tiger said.

Spider-Man looked at the four of them, the three boys all nodding.

"Daisy's told us about your team-ups with the Avengers, Fantastic Four and those X-Men people." White Tiger explained. "You're way more experienced that we are in leadership."

"Especially since you always seemed to be in charge when it was just you and Ghost." Iron Fist added.

"Okay." Spider-Man sighed. "Well, first off, we need to get inside and quietly take out the guards outside. The Police have been ordered to stay way back from the mall."

"We saw that." Power Man said. "I guess they might bring back some Officers to the back where those goons are now."

"I agree. Nova, can you see long-distances when up high in the sky?" Spider-Man asked.

"Yeah." Nova answered, nodding.

"Good. Get up high and see how many of those goons are outside the mall." Spider-Man instructed.

"Understood." Nova said.

He jumped up and shot himself up towards the sky like a rocket, leaving the others alone.

"Once we see how many's outside, I can work out a plan." Spider-Man explained.

"We understand, Spidey." White Tiger said, as Power Man and Iron Fist nodded.

They waited for almost five minutes before Nova landed near them all.

"That's about 16 at least, seven of which are at the back." he reported. "There's also a vent shaft on the rooftop, but it's pretty small as well."

"Okay. You, Iron Fist and Power Man sneak around and take them out slowly." Spider-Man instructed. "White Tiger and I'll sneak in through the vent and try to find out where the hostages are."

"Why's she get to go with you?" Nova questioned.

"Well, she is the smallest for one thing." Spider-Man reasoned. "Plus, that armour you have and Power Man's appearance will make it hard to get through."

"Okay, fair enough." Nova sighed.

"We should at least keep in contact with each other." Iron Fist suggested.

"I agree." Power Man said. "You got a built in radio in your mask, Spider-Man?"

"Of course I do." Spider-Man said. "It helps me keep in contact with Ghost whenever we had to split up, like during the Rhino Rampage last November."

"Right. Give us it then, and we'll put in our frequency so we can keep in contact." White Tiger said.

"Turn around if it makes your feel better." Iron Fist said. "It's your secret after all."

"Thanks." Spider-Man said.

He got up and turned around, then raised his mask up, showing them his brown hair, before he took his radio out, then raised his hand over his shoulder.

"Here." he said.

Iron Fist took the headset radio and handed it to Nova. Nova then put their frequency into the radio, then handed it back to Spider-Man, who took it, put it on his ear, then lowered his mask.

"Right." he said. "Let's do it."

The others nodded.

A little later, Iron Fist, Nova and Power Man all peeked out from behind a bush near the mall, staring at the 7 Demons standing guard outside, which included Chin, who'd left another in charge out front.

"Spider-Man said take them out slowly." Iron Fist reminded the others. "That also means quietly, so no rushing in, Nova."

"Hey, I understand." Nova said. "So, how you think we deal with these creeps?"

"I say we pick them off one by one." Power Man said.

"Agreed, but we also have to make sure they don't alert the others." Iron Fist said. "But that gives me an idea."

A minute later, Chin looked at his fellow 6 Demons, when one of them turned and heard a noise.

"Nǐ tīngdào shénmeliǎo ma?" the Demon asked.

The others shrugged, as Chin approached him.

"Tā cóng nǎlǐ lái de?" Chin asked.

"Zài nà biān." the Demon said, pointing over to his left.

"Yī tàn jiùjìng." Chin said.

The Demon nodded and walked over to where he'd heard the noise, holding his sidearm as he did. Once he got near the area, he looked around carefully, then when none of his friends were looking, Iron Fist pulled him into the shadows and knocked him out cold. He rubbed his hands, as Nova and Power Man came over to him.

"One down." Nova grinned.

"Better tie him up so he can't warn the others." Iron Fist said.

"I'm on it." Power Man said.

Back at the back door, Chin and the remaining Demons all looked around, seeing no sign of their comrade.

"Shì shénme liú zhùle tā?" one said.

"Wǒ bù xǐhuān zhèyàng, tā xiànzài yīnggāi huíláile." Chin said, before pointing at two of the Demons. "Nǐmen liǎng gè, jiǎnchá yīxià."

The two Demons nodded and went off to investigate, being watched by the three heroes.

"Nova, keep an eye of the others." Iron Fist whispered. "I'll take one while Power Man takes the other."

"Right." Nova said quietly.

He turned and kept his eyes on Chin and the three Demons who remained, as Iron Fist and Power Man both moved quietly without being seen.

One of the Demons approached the bush, before Power Man pulled him over it when the others weren't looking, then knocked him out. The other turned slightly near a bench as he heard a noise, before Iron Fist came up in front of him and punched in the face, knocking him out cold. Both heroes turned and nodded at each other from where they were, as Chin and the others didn't spot them.

Meanwhile, on the rooftop of the mall, Spider-Man and White Tiger stood near the vent shaft, which Spider-Man pulled off.

"Let's go." he said.

White Tiger nodded as he climbed into the vent, then she followed him, putting the cover back over as she did. They both crawled along the vent shaft, and as she did, she saw his point.

"No way Sam or Luke would fit in here." she thought. "Danny might've though."

She followed Spider-Man down the shaft.

"How long do we keep this up?" she asked.

"Until we find a vent shaft to listen in on what these guys are gonna do." Spider-Man answered.

"Okay." White Tiger understood, as they kept on crawling.

Outside, Chin and the remaining three Demons all looked around, not seeing any sign of their friends. Nova was now hiding up in a tree nearby, as Iron Fist and Power Man both stood behind a wall together. They all spotted each other and nodded, then Nova held up a stone he'd picked up earlier, then threw it away, which hit the ground near the wall.

The Demons all turned as they heard the noise, before Chin turned to the others.

"Wǒ jiǎnchá de shíhòu liú zài zhèlǐ. Wǒ bù xǐhuān zhèlǐ fāshēng de shìqíng." he said.

The others nodded, before Chin walked off to where the stone had landed, before he stopped. He looked around carefully, seeing nothing, but as he turned to his fellow Demons, when Iron Fist came up behind him and knocked him out cold.

"Ó!" he moaned, hitting the ground.

Iron Fist dragged him away and hid him, as the other three Demons all moved over, as one had spotted them. As they got closer however, one turned away while hearing rumbling from near the tree.

"Wǒ mǎshàng huílái." he said.

The other two nodded as he walked off, but as he did, they both got attacked from behind by Iron Fist and Power Man, knocking them out cold. As he got closer to the tree however, Nova jumped out of it behind him, then grabbed him and banged him against it, knocking him out cold.

The three heroes turned to each other and moved closer together.

"Well, that's all of them." Power Man said. "So, now all we have to do is get inside wait for Spidey's signal."

"Still, we should tie them all up and leave them together for the police." Iron Fist said, taking a note out of his pocket.

"What's that?" Nova asked.

"A note for the Police, for when they arrive out back." Iron Fist said. "It might make them less worried."

"Fair enough." Nova said. "Come on."

Iron Fist and Power Man nodded, before they all ran off to gather up the seven Demons.

Inside the mall, Mr. Negative stood with several of his men, as they approached the hostages.

"We have nearly everything we came here for." he explained. "We'll be out of here in about an hour. I've already phoned the Cops to let them know."

He turned to Zhao, who turned to them.

"Nǐ zhīdào wǒmen líkāi shí yào zuò shénme ma?" he said.

Zhao nodded, before Mr. Negative and the others walked off, leaving Zhao and his 8 men alone with the hostages.

In the vent shaft, Spider-Man and White Tiger both peeked out of a vent cover on the first floor, seeing four Demons standing together.

"Zhè hái yào duōjiǔ?" one said.

"Yīnggāi bù huì tài jiǔle." the second said, folding his arms.

"Wǒ xīwàng rúcǐ, wǒ yǐjīng děng fánle!" the third complained.

"Fàng qīngsōng? Wǒ xiāngxìn lǎobǎn zhīdào tā zài zuò shénme." the fourth said.

Both heroes turned to each other, as neither of them spoke Chinese.

"Well, do you get that?" Spider-Man asked.

"No." White Tiger said, shaking her head. "Whoever these guys are, they're not from around here."

"Well, they spoke Chinese." Spider-Man said. "I've heard people speak it when I've been in Chinatown."

"Well, whoever's in charge here must speak English if he's talked to the Police." White Tiger said. "There's no sign of the hostages from here."

"I know. We better keep searching." Spider-Man said.

They both turned and crawled along the vent together, with White Tiger being behind Spider-Man. As they both crawled along, they heard their radios beep, making them stop.

"Yes?" Spider-Man said, touching his.

"We've dealt with the goons outside the back." Power Man explained. "We made sure to tie them up as well so they can't alert the others."

"Okay, good." Spider-Man said. "Make your way inside and stay out of sight, then wait for my signal."

"Understood." Power Man said.

Spider-Man and White Tiger both kept crawling along the vent until they came towards another, before they stopped at one and saw Mr. Negative down below, on the phone.

"He must be the leader." White Tiger deduced.

"I've seen him before." Spider-Man said. "Only once, so I don't know much about him."

They looked around carefully, seeing several hostages nearby, including Mary Jane, Liz and Ganke, as the others were out of sight.

"There's the hostages." White Tiger whispered.

Spider-Man looked at them, but couldn't see Gwen or Miles, but was glad Mary Jane was alright.

"Let's find another one with some place you can hide, then the others can move to a place near you." he said. "I'll stay on the ceiling in the shadows until you're in position."

"Okay." White Tiger agreed.

They crawled along for about three minutes, before finding another, which had a wall near it out of sight of the Demons.

"That's the best place for you." Spider-Man said.

White Tiger nodded, then pulled the cover off, before she jumped down and landed behind the wall, out of sight from the Demons. Spider-Man climbed out of the vent, put the cover back on it, then began crawling along the ceiling, before he saw Mr. Negative looking at the hostages. He could now see Gwen and Miles, as well as his other friends, which shocked him slightly.

"Man. Nearly every one of my friends is here." he thought. "I'm glad Harry and Flash aren't here though."

He looked around and saw Power Man, Iron Fist and Nova enter undetected, Nova running up a flight of stairs towards an upper floor, before he turned to the Demons.

"Well, now's the time." he thought.

He began to lower himself down on a web-line like a yo-yo, as Mr. Negative looked at the hostages.

"We're about to leave you all." he said.

"And then you let us go right, that was the deal?" Mary Jane said.

"Oh, that?" Mr. Negative said. "I'm afraid there's been a change in plan."

All the hostages gasped as Zhao and three other Demons all raised up their guns.

"They're gonna execute us!" Gwen cried.

"No! NO!" Liz cried.

Apart from Gwen and Mary Jane, tears came down the eyes of all the female hostages.

"Guess the Spiders are too busy." Mary Jane thought. "I really thought they'd save us."

As one of the Demons prepared to pull the trigger however, a web shot at his hand, hitting and jamming his gun.

"Wǒ lēi gè qù?!" he exclaimed.

Everyone looked around, wondering where the web had come from, as Spider-Man lowered himself down.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." he smirked.

Everyone turned to him, the hostages looking relieved, while the Demons looked shocked.

"Spider-Man!" Mr. Negative hissed.

"Spider-Man!" most of the hostages gasped happily, including Gwen, Miles, Mary Jane, Liz, Ganke, Anya and Sally.

Spider-Man jumped down from his web-line and landed on his feet, staring at Mr. Negative, Zhao and the other Demons.

"Spider-Man? Long time, no see." Mr. Negative smirked. "I remember last time we met is was Valentines' Day."

"Yeah, it was. But still, I don't recall getting your name back then." Spider-Man recalled. "Who are you, Darkman or something?"

Some of the hostages sniggered, including Rocky, Lynn and Sally.

"The name's Mr. Negative, wall-crawler." Mr. Negative snarled. "And my Inner Demons here are my followers."

"Catchy name, suits their masks." Spider-Man joked.

"You made a mistake coming here alone, Spider-Man!" Mr. Negative snarled. "Where's your partner and that new sidekick you've both got, that Shadow-Spider?"

"I bet Miles would hate being called that." Spider-Man thought. "Luckily for you, Mr. Negative, they're both away helping friends of ours right now. But who said I came alone?"

Mr. Negative looked confused, before he saw Nova shooting down towards the scene from the upper floor, before he stopped and hovered near Spider-Man.

"Ha! Is that all you brought?" he laughed.

"Not quite!" White Tiger yelled, coming out from behind a wall.

Mr. Negative turned to her, as Power Man showed up near her, punching his fist, then he turned and looked in the other direction, seeing Iron Fist near a stand.

"Well, nice little friends you've gathered here." Mr. Negative admitted.

"Why, thanks." Spider-Man said, as the heroes gathered around him.

"Shāle tāmen!" Mr. Negative roared, pointing at the heroes.

Several of his Demons began charging at the heroes, while others fired their guns - including Zhao. Nova flew up towards the ceiling as the other heroes all dived away, then they began to fight the Demons.

Power Man rammed two with his arms, knocking them away, then he grabbed a third as he came towards him, then slammed him into the floor. He turned as two more fired their pistols at him, but the bullets ricocheted off him, shocking them both, before he punched them both in the face, knocking them out.

Nova flew over several of them, before he grabbed two by the back of their suits, then slammed them into a bench, knocking them out. He turned to another three, then fired beams from his gantlets at them all, hitting the floor in front of them, which knocked them away out cold.

"Ha. These guys aren't so tough." he smirked.

Spider-Man and White Tiger landed near the front door, as the 9 from outside stormed in. Spider-Man quickly webbed seven all up quickly, while White Tiger dived towards the last two, and sliced up their guns with her claws, shocking them, before she tripped them both up. They both hit the floor on their backs, before Spider-Man webbed them up like the rest.

"Nice moves." Spider-Man remarked.

"Thanks. You're not bad yourself." White Tiger commented.

Among the hostages watching were Gwen, Miles, Mary Jane and Ganke, as the others were busy looking at the other heroes. Gwen frowned slightly, trying to hide it from most, as she was getting jealous.

Iron Fist punched one Demon in the chest, knocking him into a wall out cold, then he turned and pounced on another as he tried to aim his gun at Sally, before they rolled away together.

"Let him have it!" Sally whooped.

"Yeah!" several others said, including Liz, Anya, Rocky and Lynn.

"I'm glad Spidey brought these guys, since he couldn't get his friends." Randy said.

"I wonder why Ghost and Spider-Shadow are then?" Anya questioned.

"Wherever they are, I hope they're okay." Mary Jane said.

Gwen and Miles turned to each other, wishing they could sneak away to change and help.

About a dozen Demons gathered around Mr. Negative with backpacks full of the things they'd stolen.

"Wǒmen zǒu ba." he said.

He and his dozen Demons all turned and ran off, before Iron Fist spotted them.

"Mr. Negative's escaping!" he shouted.

Spider-Man kicked a Demon away, knocking him into a wall, before he webbed up the Demon, then he turned and saw Mr. Negative and his running Demons.

"We've gotta stop him." White Tiger said.

"Yeah. Tiger, Power Man, get the hostages out of here!" Spider-Man ordered, before he handed Nova a Spider Tracer. "Nova, go after Mr. Negative and try and get this on him! Iron Fist, you and I'll handle the rest of these creeps!"

The other heroes nodded before they all ran off, expect Nova who jumped off and shot after Mr. Negative and the Demons running with him.

"Just where are you going?" Nova thought.

Mr. Negative and his 12 Demons ran towards a fire escape door, which led into an alley, then went down into the sewers, just as Nova saw the last one putting the manhole cover over.

"Huh?" he muttered.

Inside the mall, White Tiger and Power Man approached all the hostages.

"Come on, let's go!" Power Man said.

"Follow us to the back! There's none of those Demons out there." White Tiger said.

Most of the hostages all got up and followed Power Man, as White Tiger looked at the rest, which included Gwen, Miles, Mary Jane and Anya.

"What about that creep?" Gwen asked.

"We'll get him." White Tiger assured. "Just get outta here."

"She's right, Gwen." Anya said, touching her shoulder. "Come on!"

She and Miles ran off, as Mary Jane grabbed Gwen's hand and led her away.

"Gwen, she's right. Let's go!" she said.

Gwen looked back at White Tiger, who followed the hostages, as Power Man stood by the door.

"Go! Go!" he yelled.

As the hostages ran out, Gwen, Miles, Anya and Mary Jane all saw their friends gathered around Police Cars and officers, including Lt. DeWolff. Once Gwen left, who was the last hostage, Power Man closed the door behind him.

"That's all of them." he said.

"Right. Let's help Spidey and Iron Fist." White Tiger said.

They both turned and ran back to help the others.

Iron Fist punched one with his left fist, knocking him out, then he turned and punched another's jaw with his right fist, knocking him out onto a bench. He turned around and saw Spider-Man split kick two, knocking them all out, then he webbed up another three with both his web-shooters as they came towards him, trapping them. They both turned as five more - including Zhao - all fired their guns at them, but missed as Spider-Man jumped up and shot web-balls from his shooters, as Iron Fist ducked and dived to his right.

The Demons gasped as the webs hit the guns and jammed them, before Spider-Man dived down and kicked Zhao with both his feet, knocking him away.

"Ó!" he moaned, hitting a wall, out cold.

Iron Fist ran at one, then uppercut him in the jaw, knocking him out, then he punched another's belly, then elbowed his back, knocking him out. The two turned turned and charged at him, before Spider-Man shot webs at their legs, tying them up.

"Ó!" they yelped, before they hit the floor.

Both heroes turned and nodded at each other, before they turned and saw another Demon holding an Uzi up.

"Die!" he roared in English.

He was about to fire it, when Power Man grabbed him from behind her held it up.

"Sorry, but guns aren't allowed in here." he said.

He slammed the Demon into the floor, knocking him out cold.

"Thanks." Spider-Man said.

Iron Fist held his thumb up, as his friend nodded.

They all turned as they heard a clicking noise, which triggered Spider-Man's Spider-Sense, then they all saw two aiming pistols at them. Before they could fire, White Tiger split kicked them both in the back, knocking them out onto their chests.

"Not on my watch." she smirked.

She ran towards the boys as they looked around.

"Is that all of them?" Power Man asked.

"Some of them escaped." Iron Fist said.

"And Nova's still chasing after those who escaped with Mr. Negative." Spider-Man said.

"Guys!" Nova called.

The four heroes turned as Nova flew towards them all, before they all gathered together, Nova landed on his feet.

"Where's Mr. Negative?" Spider-Man asked.

"He got away with the rest of those Demons of his." Nova said. "Sorry, webs, but I lost him in the sewers."

"The sewers?" White Tiger questioned. "Who'd use that as an escape route."

"Well, there's a Subway nearby, that's how I lost him, as he blew a hole in a wall to get onto it." Nova assured.

"Great!" Spider-Man moaned. "Did you at least get the Spider Tracer on him?"

"No, sorry." Nova said, handing it to him.

All five heroes turned as they heard sirens, telling them more Cops had arrived out back.

"We better get outta here." Spider-Man said. "Come on."

He grabbed White Tiger's hand and began to web-swing away, as Nova grabbed Iron Fist and Power Man and flew off with them both.

Later, Spider-Man and the other heroes all stood on a rooftop, looking down at the scene, seeing the Police and Doctors looking after the hostages, all of whom had blankets wrapped around them. They also saw several Cops - including Stan Carter and Lt. DeWolff leading the captured Demons away, which totalled only 44 out of 62, including Chin and Zhao. 6 had managed to escape during the fight, while the remaining 12 had escaped at some point with Mr. Negative.

Other Cops meanwhile were talking to the hostages, before Capt. Stacy and Sgt. Davis both approached Gwen and Miles, who sat together near an ambulance.

"Dad?" they both said.

"Are you two okay?" Capt. Stacy asked.

"We're fine, Dad." Gwen assured. "I'm just glad Peter wasn't inside when it happened."

"Well, look, I'm taking you home, Gwen." Capt. Stacy said. "And no arguments. I want you to rest for the rest of the day."

"Okay, Dad." Gwen sighed. "Just let me say goodbye to MJ first?"

"Sure." Capt. Stacy said.

Gwen got up and walked off slightly, as Miles followed her, with his Dad behind her.

"You're not hurt, are you, Miles?" Sgt. Davis asked.

"No, I'm okay, Dad." Miles assured.

Sgt. Davis smiled and nodded, before he turned and walked off.

As Gwen and Miles both walked off, they both turned and looked up at Spider-Man and nodded at him, who nodded back, glad to know they were okay.

"You know those two?" Nova asked.

Spider-Man turned to the other heroes.

"Yeah, I do." he said.

"That's Ghost and Shadow-Spider, isn't it?" White Tiger assumed.

"Yes." Spider-Man sighed, seeing no point in hiding it.

"Children of Cops, eh?" Power Man said. "Weird."

White Tiger looked over the wall and stared at Gwen and Miles, with their Dads nearby.

"Looks like Ghost is Capt. Stacy's daughter." she said, turning to the others.

Spider-Man looked at her confused.

"I heard the News report about you saving her last year." she explained.

"And Daisy told us the rest." Iron Fist added, folding his arms.

"Oh." Spider-Man sighed. "Right."

"Hey, web-head, I think you need to tell us something." Nova said.

Spider-Man turned to the other teen heroes.

"What do you mean, Nova?" he asked.

"Well, if we know what your partners look like, I think it's only fair if we know who you are." Nova said.

Spider-Man looked at them all carefully. He know who Nova and White Tiger really wear, as Nova's Dad had said his name the night he and Gwen had rescued him, while White Tiger had willingly showed him her face when she accepted the Secret Warrior's offer. On the other hand, he didn't know Power Man and Iron Fist's really identities.

"Well, I know you and Tiger, but not Iron Fist and Power Man." Spider-Man reasoned.

"Luke Cage." Power Man said, taking his glasses off.

"Danny Rand." Iron Fist said, raising his mask up, showing his face.

Spider-Man looked at them both as they covered their faces again.

"So, you gonna tell us, Spidey?" Power Man asked.

Spider-Man sighed, before he raised his mask up reluctantly, showing them his face.

"Whoa!" they gasped.

They all looked surprised by how young he was, with White Tiger blushing slightly under her mask.

"You're...younger than I thought?" Power Man said. "What are you, 15?"

"I turned 17 two months ago." Peter explained, before putting his mask back on.

"Not that much older than us then." Nova smirked. "Surprised you didn't call yourself Spider-Boy."

He laughed as his joke, as the others stared at him, all unamused.

"Okay, bad joke." he admitted.

"So, what's your real name?" White Tiger asked. "Just in case we meet out of costume."

"Peter Parker." Spider-Man said. "But we have to pretend we haven't met before for if that happens."

"Does sound fair." Iron Fist reasoned.

"True." White Tiger agreed.

Nova and Power Man nodded.

"Guys, look, we better get back." Power Man said. "We've done what get back and wait for Daisy and the others."

"Yeah, and we've dealt with those Demon creeps." Nova said.

"It's a pity most of them got away, along with that Mr. Negative." Iron Fist said.

"Yeah." Spider-Man agreed. "Last time Ghost and I encountered him, he got away then too. I really hate to think for what he's got planned with what he stole."

"Hopefully, whatever it is, some heroes will be able to stop it, Spider-Man." White Tiger said.

"Depends who's nearest." Iron Fist said. "Still, I wonder what he wanted that stuff for?"

"Anyone can only guess for now." Nova shrugged. "We'll have to wait till he returns."

"Yeah. And again, thanks for the help guys." Spider-Man said. "I couldn't have handle this one without your help."

"Don't mention it, web-head." Power Man said, patting his shoulder softly. "And relax, we won't tell the others about your identity?"

"Until you're ready that is." Nova assured. "But, does Daisy know?"

"Yes, she does." Spider-Man said. "Well, not Shadow as he's still new at this and hasn't met any other heroes expect me, Ghost and Spider-Woman."

"Right." Nova said.

He jumped up and began to fly away, before Iron Fist and Power Man both ran along the rooftops after him. White Tiger however, approached Spider-Man touched his shoulder.

"I'll make sure the others don't spill the beans until you're ready." she promised. "Especially Nova since he has trouble keeping his mouth shut."

"Thanks." Spider-Man said.

White Tiger smiled and hugged him, surprising him, before she turned and ran after her teammates.

Spider-Man sighed, before he jumped off the rooftop, happy to know Gwen, Miles and his other friends were safe, but still disappointed that Mr. Negative and most of his Demons had escaped.
