A/N: The first two scenes take place before Peter and Aunt May visited the orphanage. I'm sorry for the delay, but I had trouble with one of the last scenes on this one, as I didn't know how to play it out.

At the White House, at 4pm, a bunch of people were either walking down a hallway or standing talking to each other. Among them included a Senator called Robert Kelly, who wore glasses and had brown hair with bits of grey/white in, and a man called Henry Gyrich, who wore sunglasses and had bright red hair.

"When the President comes over tomorrow, I'm gonna have a big long talk with him." Gyrich said. "I'm gonna convince him to release my friend Trask and re-start his Sentinel program."

"Gyrich, your friend caused the deaths of many people!" Kelly argued. "I may hate Mutants too, but even I'd never kill innocent people in the progress! How would you like it if one of those tin-cans killed members of your Human family?!"

He walked off angrily as Gyrich snarled.

"I'm sure Bolivar would know better than that!" he snapped. "If he did so, he had no choice 'cause they were Mutant lovers. Most of what he was accused of was probably made up!"

"What?!" Kelly snapped, turning to him.

He glared at Gyrich as at least six other people stared at him.

"Do you really believe the Avengers would make all that up?!" Kelly snarled. "Ms. Walters wouldn't have given that evidence without proof!"

"Yeah, right?!" Gyrich scoffed. "That's a load of hogwash!"

"You know what, you're as insane as Trask is!" Kelly snapped. "After what he did, I'll never support you, and I doubt many people here will too!"

He turned around and walked off, leaving Gyrich angry, while the other men looked at each other.

"Kelly's got a point." one whispered, who had dark hair and a moustache. "Gyrich's becoming insane."

"Yeah." another agreed quietly, who had red hair. "Best keep an eye on him."

Outside, Spider-Woman, Black Widow and Hawkeye all stood on a rooftop, looking down at the White House, waiting for Capt. America to arrive with the X-Men.

"Uh, what's keeping 'em?" Hawkeye grumbled.

"Cap said they'll be here, Clint." Black Widow assured. "He's probably briefing them first."

Spider-Woman turned as she heard a noise, looking up, and seeing the Blackbird coming towards them.

"Well, here they are." she said. "Let's see who we've got."

The Blackbird started hovering over the rooftop, before Captain America, Storm, Gambit and Nightcrawler all jumped out and landed on the rooftop, then it flew off.

"Anything happened?" Capt. America asked.

"No, everything's fine for now, Cap." Black Widow replied.

"I see you succeed in getting some of the X-Men to help, but is this all?" Hawkeye asked.

"No. We've got Rogue too, but she's gonna hide the Blackbird and then join us." Capt. America explained.

"Well, good to know we've got a heavy hitter for this." Black Widow said.

"Where's Black Panther?" Capt. America asked.

A noise made them all turn, before they all turned and saw Black Panther land on the rooftop behind them all.

"I see you've..." he began, getting up. "No way?"

"Hey, you okay?" Spider-Woman asked.

"Ja, sie look a bit shokket." Nightcrawler noted.

Black Panther took off his mask, shocking Storm, as she recognized the face.

"It's been a long time, Ororo." he said.

"Indeed it has, T'Challa." Storm agreed.

The others all looked amongst themselves.

"Wait, you two know each other already?" Black Widow inquired.

"Yes, from years ago." Storm said.

"Indeed. Surprised to see you again after all this time." T'Challa admitted, putting his mask back on.

"Indeed it is." Storm agreed.

Rogue soon came flying over, before she landed on the rooftop next to Gambit.

"Ah've got th' Blackbird well hidden, Storm." she reported. "It won't be easy f' people t' find."

"Good work, Rogue." Storm said.

"Right. I've briefed the X-Men on what might be happening." Capt. America explained. "So they know what's happening."

"Well, dis had better happen den." Gambit said, as Rogue folded her arms.

"What's wrong with them?" Hawkeye wondered.

"They were doing...something together." Storm explained.

"Den we got rudely interrupted." Gambit snarled.

Black Widow and Hawkeye turned to each other, as Spider-Woman frowned beneath her mask, while Black Panther looked confused.

"Ahem. Anyway, we'll all take turns and keep an eye on the White House in shifts tonight." Capt. America explained. "In the morning, we'll all split up watch from different areas."

"No offence, Steve, but I think Nightcrawler will stick out like a sore thumb." Black Widow reasoned, pointing at him. "You should've brought another in his place."

Nightcrawler pressed his image inducer, transforming into the same appearance he had when he brought Trask's file to Peter and Gwen, shocking the Avengers - expect Capt. America as he'd seen it on the way over.

"O-kay, open mouth, insert foot." Black Widow said, taken aback.

"Whoa. Great disguise, elf." Hawkeye admitted.

"Danke." Nightcrawler said, nodding.

"That'll defiantly help us out." Spider-Woman remarked.

"Right. We're taking in turns, and since there's nine of us, three of us watching and rotate every two hours once its dark." Capt. America said. "Understood?"

The others all nodded, Gambit slowly, before Rogue touched his hand, making him smile.

"I think I know what they were doing." Black Widow whispered to Hawkeye.

"Me too." Hawkeye agreed quietly.

The next morning, Peter and Aunt May were in the kitchen of their current flat, sitting at the table having breakfast, which was bacon, eggs and toast.

"Sorry, there's no wheat cakes, Peter." Aunt May said.

"Aunt May, I understand." Peter said. "We're not exactly home here. We just have to have what they've got."

Aunt May smiled at him, when his phone beeped, making him take it out, and saw it was a text from Gwen.

"Not much happened last night after your last text. I stopped an armored car robbery, Miles a maniac on the road, and Anya helped a man to the hospital. We'll see what today brings. Hope your sister likes you, and don't worry, I won't tell the others. Love Gwen. XX"

Peter smiled, before he turned to Aunt May.

"Everything's fine. Gwen says not much happened yesterday." he explained.

"Good." Aunt May said. "Did you-"

"I told her about Teresa, but asked her not to tell the others." Peter explained. "Wanna surprise them all, but I couldn't keep it from her."

"Good. If she wasn't you're girlfriend, would you not tell her?" Aunt May asked.

"Probably." Peter replied. "She... She's the one for me. My soulmate, my one true love."

"Like me and Ben?" Aunt May inquired.

"Yeah. If something happened to her, I'd never forgive myself if it was my fault." Peter sighed. "Part of me is glad our powers include a healing factor to heal us up."

"A healing factor?" Aunt May questioned.

"I promise, I'll tell you about all my powers another day." Peter promised. "Right now, I just wanna meet my long-lost sister."

"Me too. Okay, but you better keep good on your promise?" Aunt May asked.

"I will." Peter assured, before they continued eating breakfast.

About an hour later, Peter and Aunt May were walking through the city together, until they stood before the Seville Apartments, the place the orphanage had given them. They both sighed and entered the building, before they approached the receptionist, who told them where the Durands were, and soon stood outside door 1967, which was on the seventh floor.

"You ready?" Aunt May asked.

"As I'll ever be." Peter said.

They both approached the door, before Aunt May knocked on it three times. They both waited for a few minutes, before a woman with blonde hair opened it up.

"Yes?" she asked.

"Uh, are you Mrs. Durand?" Aunt May asked.

"Yes." Mrs. Durand replied. "You the Parkers? Ms. Harris told us you'd be coming here."

"Yes." Aunt May said. "Did she tell you why?"

"Uh, yes. My husband and I were shocked, but we're happy to know Teresa has some of her real family left." Mrs. Durand explained. "Come on in?"

Peter and Aunt May entered the apartment, just as Mr. Durand came in from the kitchen, who had black/light brown hair, and blue eyes.

"This them?" he asked.

"Yes." his wife said. "This is May and Peter Parker."

Mr. Durand came over and shook their hands.

"I'm Tobey Andrew, and my wife's called Kristen Emily." he explained.

"Nice to meet you." Peter said.

"Likewise. So, where's Teresa?" Aunt May asked.

"In the sitting room." Mr. Durand explained. "Come on?"

They all walked towards the sitting room, and saw a 12-year old girl with brown hair, that was tied in a ponytail, sitting on the couch reading a book.

"Um, Teresa, we have a few visitors." Mrs. Durand said. "They're here to see you."

The girl turned around to them all, showing she had blue eyes, but both Parkers were shocked, for she looked exactly like her birth mother Mary Parker, expect she had Richard's eyes, and her hair was a bit lighter, making her the exact opposite of Peter.

"Oh my gosh?" Peter gasped.

"No...way?" Aunt May breathed.

Teresa got up and looked at them, eyeing Peter curiously due to the resemblance between them.

"Um, Mom, Dad, who are these people?" she asked.

"Teresa, this is May and Peter Parker. They're what's left of your birth family, your aunt and brother." Mrs. Durand explained.

"My...real family?" Teresa questioned. "But I thought they were all dead?"

"That's what we thought too." Mr. Durand assured.

"The orphanage only told us last night after they left there yesterday." Mrs. Durand explained. "We thought it be best to surprise you, since you've always wondered about your real family."

Teresa smiled, before she looked at Peter and Aunt May again, seeing the resemblance she and Peter had.

"So, care to explain, Mrs. Parker?" Mr. Durand asked. "Can you tell us why you never tried to find Teresa before now?"

He and his wife sat down on one couch, while Peter and Teresa sat down on another, and Aunt May sat down in a chair.

"Well, her parents, Richard and Mary were killed in a plane crash, but they never told me and my husband Ben about Teresa prior to that." Aunt May explained. "From what we found out from the orphanage, and from what we've deduced, they were gonna come back for her, and then bring her home with them to surprise us, but they were unable too."

Peter looked at his sister, before he touched her shoulder.

"If that hadn't happened, we'd have grown up together with our parents." he said. "And if that happened, I would've done the best to look out for you."

Teresa looked at him, then at Aunt May.

"All these years, I thought my only birth family was dead." she sighed. "But now finding out I've had a brother this whole time, as well as an Aunt, it's... It's a bit hard."

"Trust us, when we first found out about you, we felt the same way." Peter assured. "That was after the guy who killed our parents got locked up, for a lot more crimes than just that."

"Wait, what?" Teresa asked.

"You mean, the plane crash wasn't an accident?" Mrs. Durand asked.

"No. It was sabotaged." Aunt May sighed. "Richard died in the crash, while Mary drowned the next day as it crashed into the ocean."

"Why would someone do something like that?" Mr. Durand asked.

"Because my parents found out something, and this man killed them so they couldn't testify." Peter explained. "He did a lot of bad things to many people, mostly out of racism."

"That sick bastard!" Mr. Durand cursed.

"Honey, language!" his wife scowled, touching his arm.

"Sorry." her husband sighed. "So, the guy who caused that's in jail?"

"Yeah, and for more than just that." Peter assured. "It took a long time though before they could get enough evidence, as he was good at covering his tracks."

"Well, for all he's done then, I hope he stays in there forever." Mrs. Durand said.

"So, where's your husband, May?" Mr. Durand asked. "The orphanage told us you're a Parker by marriage."

"I..." Aunt May began.

"Uncle Ben died over a year ago." Peter explained. "He was killed by a robber who stole his car."

"So, that's why he's not here?" Teresa inquired.

"Yes." Peter sighed. "We all miss him, and I'm sure he'd have loved to meet you."

Teresa sighed, upset by the fact that she'd had an Uncle who never knew about her, and who she'd never be able to meet.

"Do... Do you have pictures of my birth parents?" Teresa asked. "The orphanage never had any, so I'm curious as to what they look like."

Aunt May took out her phone and brought up a picture of Richard and Mary on it, then handed it to Teresa. She looked at them both as Peter leaned over, before tears came out of her eyes.

"You okay?" Peter asked.

"Yeah, I just...can't believe the resemblance." Teresa cried softly. "I look so much like my Mom."

Peter looked down at the picture, seeing what she meant, as he'd seen it in himself with his father dozens of times.

"I know. We're exactly like them, only with the opposite eyes." he said.

Teresa got up and approached her foster parents, before showing them the picture.

"Whoa. I can see the resemblance you and Peter have." Mrs. Durand said.

"Yeah, me too." her husband said.

Teresa smiled and handed Aunt May back the phone.

"Uh, Aunt May, can I ask you something?" she asked, nervously, wiping her eyes.

"Of course." Aunt May said.

"Did the orphanage say my birth parents named me before they left me there, or did the orphanage name me?" Teresa asked.

"Richard and Mary named you before they left you there." Aunt May explained. "Teresa was your Mom's middle name, actually."

"My birth Mom's middle name was Teresa?" Teresa inquired.

"Yes, and your middle name, Elizabeth comes from her Mom, you're Grandma." May deduced. "It's a Parker family tradition to often name their kids after loved ones."

"Well, I'll be..." Teresa muttered, before turning to Peter.

"My middle name's after Uncle Ben." Peter explained.

Teresa smiled slightly, before Mrs. Durand cleared her throat.

"Uh, why don't you show your brother your room, Teresa." she suggested. "We need to have a talk with your Aunt."

Teresa smiled. "Sure. Come on, Peter?" she said.

She got up, before she led Peter up towards her bedroom, then let them both inside. Peter looked around curiously, seeing Teresa liked pop, blues and jazz music by the CDs in a case, she had a few books on a shelf, and a small wardrobe full of clothes.

"Nice room." Peter said.

"Thanks." Teresa said. "Living in a apartment does limit your things. What about you?"

"Aunt May and I live in a house in Queens." Peter explained.

"Queens? As in New York?" Teresa inquired.

"Yeah. The Big Apple." Peter said.

"Man..." Teresa said, awed. "You're a bit lucky to be living like that."

Peter smiled, before he turned and saw a German to English dictionary on a drawer.

"You learning German?" Peter inquired, picking it up

"Yeah. My foster's Mom's part German." Teresa explained. "Figured I might as well learn it for her sake. You know any other language?"

"I know Spanish and a bit French." Peter answered. "In fact, one of my friends is Latino, and another's part African, part Latino."

"Really?" Teresa inquired. "I've got a friend who's part Polish, and another who's part British. I've often wondered if I've... I mean, we've got ancestry from another countries?"

"We do. Our mother was part Irish." Peter explained.

"Part Irish?" Teresa questioned, confused.

"Mom's maiden name was Fitzpatrick, which is a common Irish surname, which made her sort of Irish-American." Peter explained. "At least that what Aunt May's told me."

"Oh..." Teresa said. "Well, I'll have reason to wear green next St. Patrick's day."

"I always make sure I do, sis." Peter said.

Teresa giggled as they sat down on the bed to talk some more, both eager to find out more about each other.

Meanwhile, around the White House, the other heroes were all scattered around, keeping their eyes open for trouble. As Rogue and Storm were the only fliers, they did so from the air, keeping their eyes out for trouble, while the rest were down below. Spider-Woman, Nightcrawler and Black Widow - all in disguise - were all either standing or sitting on a bench, looking at it, while Hawkeye and Gambit stood on one rooftop together, Capt. America and Black Panther on another.

"You and Rogue really annoyed being here?" Hawkeye inquired, turning to Gambit.

"Oui. I bet you don't like getting interrupted like dat?" Gambit asked, annoyed.

"I don't think anyone does, Cajun." Hawkeye assured. "Still, you wouldn't have been chosen if they really felt we needed you."

Gambit scoffed and turned to the White House, as he began playing with his cards.

On the other building, Black Panther and Capt. America both looked around, before the Capt. turned to the king.

"You okay?" he asked.

"Yeah. I'm just surprised to Ororo again after all these years." Black Panther said. "When I lost saw her, we were just children, no more than 12, after I'd helped her escape from some hunters."

Capt. America touched his shoulder.

"When she left, I thought I'd never see her again." Black Panther admitted. "I'm surprised she's a hero like me."

"Oh, she is." Capt. America said, before he began telling his friend about Storm's powers.

Up in the sky, Storm and Rogue had had a similar conversation.

"So, ya met that guy long before ya met any o' us?" Rogue asked.

"Yes. He told me he was a Prince to a kingdom when he saved me." Storm recalled. "Never thought I'd see him again, nor as a hero like me."

"Maybe ya two should have a talk when this is ovah." Rogue suggested.

"Indeed." Storm agreed.

Down below, the other three heroes met up.

"You see anything suspicious?" Natasha asked.

"Nein." Kurt replied, shaking his head.

"Me neither." Jessica said, folding her arms.

"Hmm? If this is gonna happen today, maybe it'll be when the President gives his speech." Natasha deduced. "HYDRA'll probably be here by then."

"I agree. Maybe they're just making a plan of attack right now." Jessica said.

"Shtill, ve must not let our guart dovn to protekt zese souls." Kurt said. "Vee'll just hafe to vait ant see for vhen zey arrife."

At the same time, inside a warehouse, three members of HYDRA were all sitting around together around a table, with a dozen of HYDRA goons standing around them. One of them was a bald, topless muscular man, welding a mace called Absorbing Man, also known as Carl 'Crusher' Creel, who wore boots and patterned pants. Another was called Cyclone, also known as André Gerard, a Frenchman, who wore a patterned dark and light blue suit, which had yellow gloves and boots, and a belt with a whirlwind pattern on, which a matching one on the chest. The third was called Nitro, also known as Robert Hunter, who had long white/silver hair, and wore a purple and magenta bodysuit, with gold wrist bands and a symbol on his chest.

The three men were all waiting bored, while the goons all looked at them.

"Are we all that's doing this?" Nitro asked.

"Nah. More will probably show up." Absorbing Man said.

"Yeah, but who's in charge?" Nitro wondered.

"We'll get the word." Absorbing Man said. "All we have to do is wait."

They all turned as the door opened up, then Taskmaster came in, making the three head goons get up.

"I see the party's all here." he said, approaching the table. "Time to get down to business."

"Wait, it's just us?" Nitro inquired. "We're the only ones doing this?"

"Well, Crossbones is still being held by SHIELD." Cyclone cut in. "So like it or not, it looks like we're it, mon ami."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah." Nitro scoffed, folding his arms. "Speak for yourself, Frenchy!"

"Alright, enough! Let's get down to business." Taskmaster said, sitting down. "We're here because the Red Skull wants us to attack the White House, and eliminate a number of government officials."

Absorbing Man, Nitro and Cyclone all leaned in as he began to explain his plan, while the HYDRA goons all stood and watched.

Later, at the Durand apartment, the Parkers and the Durands were all in the sitting room again. The topic now being about what the families did, before deciding on what was best for Teresa.

"So, uh, Peter, how old are you?" Mrs. Durand asked.

"17. I start my last year of High School next term." Peter explained. "My birthday's in February, so I'm at least 5 years older than Teresa."

"Oh..." Mrs. Durand said.

"So, what do you do, Aunt May?" Teresa asked. "I mean, what work do you do to keep the house running?"

"I volunteer at the FEAST shelter in Chinatown." Aunt May explained.

"The FEAST shelter?" Mr. Durand inquired. "I heard about that. Must be pretty crowded."

"Oh, it is." Aunt May said. "Until it opened though, Peter had to bring the money in by working as a photographer at the Daily Bugle."

"Wait, you work as a photographer in your spare time, Peter?" Mrs. Durand asked.

"Yeah. Had to find some way to help pay the bills." Peter explained. "I often did it for the school paper, so I figured, I better try it."

The Durands smiled and nodded, seeing his point.

"What was Uncle Ben's job?" Teresa asked.

"Electrician, but he got laid off before he died." Peter explained.

"He was searching for a new job around the time it happened." Aunt May added. "That's why Peter took that job to help around the house."

"Well, that sure is grown-up, Peter." Mrs. Durand remarked.

"Indeed." her husband agreed. "Have you often had to travel though, due to your work?"

"Um...to be honest, so far, outside of New York in general, no." Peter answered. "So what about you two?"

"Well, I'm a travel agent, so I often have to travel a lot. Been all over the country and even the world." Mr. Durand explained. "Whenever it's the holidays though I bring Kirsten and Teresa with me so we can be together."

"That's nice of you." Aunt May remarked. "Ben and I were barely able to take Peter anywhere like that on our own. The very few we were able to do was with his friends."

"Why's that?" Mrs. Durand asked.

"One of my friends is the son of Norman Osborn, the head of Oscorp." Peter explained. "It's thanks to him we were able to do that."

"Oh, I see." Mrs. Durand said. "Sure is nice of him."

"Yeah." Teresa agreed. "He must be a nice friend you have."

"He is, been my best friend for years." Peter explained. "I didn't have many at first either, but that's changed since last year."

"Good to know." Mr. Durand said.

"Right, so, we've been talking with May, Teresa, and well...apparently, she wants you to go home with her and Peter." Mrs. Durand explained.

"But I've-" Teresa began.

"We're not gonna force you." Aunt May assured. "If you're happy here, fine. But we'd still like if you came over and visited us every now and then, especially during the holidays. Peter and I decided that when we first found out about you, and since the Durands have raised you properly, it's your choice."

Teresa looked from her to her foster parents.

"I'll...I'll think about it. But visiting for the holidays, defiantly." she said. "It's always just been the three of us, so it'll be nice."

"Same here." Mr. Durand said. "My wife and I have no other family left."

"Until Ben died, it was just him, me and Peter, so we understand." Aunt May said.

Mr. and Mrs. Durand both smiled.

"So, how 'bout next Thanksgiving or something?" Mr. Durand suggested.

"Sure. I'll make sure to bring some more food." Aunt May promised. "You'll also get to meet our friends as well."

Everyone smiled, when Peter felt his phone beep, making him take it out, seeing it was Jameson.

"Huh?" he muttered. "I'll be right back. It's my boss."

He turned and walked off towards the kitchen, as everyone else looked at each other.

"His boss?" Teresa inquired. "I wonder what he wants?"

"Hmm? He might know Peter's here and wants him to do something down here in Washington." Aunt May deduced. "He's done it before to some of his other employers."

They all looked at Peter held his phone to his ear.

"Parker, I know you're in Washington, so I need you at the White House!" Jameson barked.

"Wait; how'd you know I was in Washington?" Peter asked.

"Robbie heard from his son, who heard it from your friend Harry Osborn." Jameson explained.

"Oh..." Peter said.

"Anyway, I've heard the President's gonna be making a speech at the White House this afternoon." Jameson began. "I need a photographer, and since you're already there, I figured better send you since it could happen any moment."

"Well, what about my payment?" Peter asked.

"I'll pay you online once I see the pictures, which you can send via email, as you have before." Jameson explained.

"Okay." Peter sighed. "I'll head right there."

He hung up and put his phone away, before he turned to Aunt May and the Durands.

"That was my boss." he explained. "He knows I'm here and wants me to go to the White House."

"To report the President's speech?" Mr. Durand inquired.

"Yeah." Peter sighed. "Sorry, but I better go."

"Okay." Aunt May said. "Take care of yourself."

"I will." Peter said, as he turned and walked off.

As he left the room, Aunt May turned to the Durands.

"So, um, what do we do now?" Mr. Durand wondered.

"Well, as I've said, me and Peter rarely got to travel, so this is our first time in Washington." Aunt May said.

"Well, why don't I take you out and show you around?" Teresa suggested. "Maybe we might run into Peter once he's finished."

"I'd love that, Teresa, if it's okay with your parents." Aunt May said.

"I see no harm." Mrs. Durand said. "This will allow you two to spend some time together."

"I agree. Go for it." her husband said.

"Well, in that case, lead the way, Teresa." Aunt May said.

She and Teresa both got up and left the apartment, leaving Mr. and Mrs. Durand alone.

"Well, I have to say this, May seems like a nice woman." Mrs. Durand said.

"Yeah, and Peter is defiantly a good boy, helping her out like that." Mr. Durand agreed. "I glad Teresa has some actually family out there."

"Me too, honey." Mrs. Durand said. "Me too."

Later, at the White House, the nine heroes were all looking at the building from their locations, as a swarm of people were approaching it.

"Looks like the President's speech is about to start." Capt. America deduced.

"Or at least will in due time." Black Panther said. "All we can do is wait."

"Indeed." Capt. America agreed.

Down below, Peter approached the crowd, which was full of reporters, photographers and journalists, but were being held back by Federal Agents. As he got closer to the crowd, he felt a hand on his shoulder, making him turn to see Jessica.

"Surprised you're here, Pete." she said. "I thought I said I'd call you if trouble came."

"Yeah, well, my boss told me to come here." Peter sighed.

"Jameson found out you were here and assigned you this?" Jessica inquired.

"Yeah. But look at the bright side; at least I have a cover for being here to avoid suspicion, if something happens." Peter reasoned.

"Yeah, it does." Jessica agreed. "Well, I'm here in the crowd with Black Widow and Nightcrawler, while the other heroes are in the sky or on the rooftops."

"Kurt using his image inducer?" Peter inquired.

"Yep. Quite a shock that was." Jessica admitted.

"Gwen and I felt the same way when we first saw it." Peter assured.

They both looked at the crowd, seeing everyone was getting a bit impatient waiting for the President.

"You find your sibling?" Jessica asked.

"Yeah. She's with Aunt May and her foster parents." Peter replied.

"So, it's a girl, huh?" Jessica inquired.

"Yep." Peter nodded.

"Well, I'm glad you found her, Peter." Jessica said. "You two should never have been separated like that. I'll let the others know you're here."

"Thanks." Peter said.

Jessica turned and walked off, as Peter approached the crowd, before she put her entered an alley, then held up her communicator.

"Cap, our extra member's arrived." she explained.

On the rooftop, Capt. America touched the side of his mask.

"He has?" he inquired.

"Yeah. His boss found out he was here and assigned him to cover the event." Jessica explained.

"Right. Well, with him being in the crowd, he might come in handy." Capt. America deduced. "Keep an eye out, as we don't know when they'll strike."

He lowered his hand and turned to Black Panther, who looked at him.

"Our other reserve member's in the crowd." he explained. "His boss found out he was here and sent him."

"His boss?" Black Panther inquired.

"He works as a photographer in his spare time to help pay the bills." Capt. America explained.

"Oh, I see." Black Panther said. "Well, glad to know we have some more help."

They both turned to the crowd, seeing Peter moving to the front, before a Agent held out his arm.

"Sorry, kid. Press only." he said.

"It's okay. I'm with the Daily Bugle in New York." Peter explained.

"Oh... Well, just wait here with the others then." the Agent said.

"Thank you." Peter said.

He walked over to the other pressmen, as some of them turned to him.

"Look at that kid?" one said, who had a whiskers on his chin. "What's he doing here?"

"And I wonder how old he is?" another said, who was African-American. "Looks no more than 15."

A woman with short light brown hair came towards them both.

"He works for the Daily Bugle in New York." she hissed. "Guess they had to scrap the bottom of the barrel for this. Maybe there's no one else available."

"Oh." the whiskered man said. "Wonder how he got here by himself then?"

"You got me." the African said.

After a few minutes, the White House doors opened up, and the President stepped out, along with other officials all came out, including Kelly and Gyrich, both of them shocking the four Mutants.

"Mon dieu!" Gambit gasped.

"Ah don' b'lieve it?" Rogue said.

"Of all zee people to be here." Kurt muttered.

Natasha turned to him, as she was near him, while Hawkeye did the same to Gambit.

"You okay?" Hawkeye asked.

"Oui. I'm just not happy with two of those people." Gambit grumbled. "Dat Gyrich's almost as bad as Trask, and Kelly's been against Mutants since he got into politics."

"Well...I'm sorry." Hawkeye said. "We'll keep an eye on those two, Cajun."

"Merci." Gambit muttered, folding his arms.

Down below, the President approached a podium, as the photographers began to snap pictures of him, including Peter.

Meanwhile, Teresa had led Aunt May through the city, showing her all sorts of places, including the Washington Monument, the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, and the Lincoln memorial. They both soon walked down a street together, before Teresa turned to Aunt May.

"So, how are you liking this place?" she asked.

"Well, it's pretty nice." Aunt May admitted. "When you come over and visit, Peter and I'll have to show you around New York."

"I'd like that. New York's one of the few places my Dad's never had to go, so I'd like that." Teresa said.

Aunt May smiled and touched his shoulder as they kept on walking.

"Hey, um, you think we might run into Peter out here?" Teresa asked.

"Well, as Peter's assignment's at the White House, we'll see him only if you wanna go there." Aunt May explained.

"Oh, yeah. Right." Teresa said. "Maybe better to wait for that, especially if the President's giving a speech."

Aunt May smiled as they kept on walking, before they stopped by a bunch of tables with umbrellas near some trees.

"Hey, um, can you tell me what my parents jobs were?" Teresa asked. "I never got a chance to ask Peter."

Aunt May began to think, for she had a feeling Richard and Mary might've lied to her and Ben, but on the other hand, she knew they were defiantly scientists like their friends the Brocks.

"They were scientists doing research for cancer." she explained. "And I think your brother's picked that up since Science is his best subject."

"Scientists?" Teresa questioned. "Okay, never expected that. I mean, I'm okay with Science, but it's not my best subject. I'm better at English and History."

"Oh." Aunt May said. "Well, everyone has their best and worst subjects."

Teresa smiled, when they heard a girl calling.

"Hey, Teresa!" she called.

Teresa and Aunt May turned and saw two girls coming towards them both, all the same age as Teresa. One had black hair, while the other was bright blonde, who's hair was a pixie cut.

"Oh, hi, guys." Teresa said.

"Who's this?" the blonde asked.

"Um, guys, there's something I need to tell you." Teresa said. "Can you excuse us?"

"Go ahead." Aunt May said.

"Thanks." Teresa said.

She led her friends away, then began to tell them everything she'd found out in the last few hours, while standing by a retaining wall.

Aunt May smiled and the scene, before she took out her phone and dialled Peter's number, before putting it to her ear. She looked over at the girls, when Peter answered.

"Aunt May, what's up?" he asked. "You still with the Durands?"

"Um, no. Teresa's taking me out to see the town." Aunt May explained. "She's with some of her friends."

"Oh, right." Peter said.

"Uh, Peter, do you mind if I ask you something?" Aunt May asked.

"Sure." Peter answered.

"Well, are your friends at the White House?" Aunt May asked quietly.

"Yeah. Some's in the crowd while others are in the sky or on the rooftops." Peter explained. "Don't worry though, I've got my suit."

"I know. Just...be careful if the you-know-what comes?" Aunt May asked.

"I will. I promise, Aunt May." Peter assured.

"Okay." Aunt May said.

She hung up and put her phone away, before she turned to the girls.

"So, that woman's your Aunt, and you've had an older brother you never knew about?" the black-haired girl asked.

"Yeah." Teresa said. "I'm still in shock."

"But...I thought you told us you had no real family?" the blonde inquired.

"So did I, but it turns out they didn't know about me either." Teresa explained. "My real parents died before they could come back for me."

"Oh, Teresa, I'm sorry." the black-haired girl said, touching her shoulder.

"Thanks. I always wondered why they left me, but I never thought they were dead all these years." Teresa sighed.

She looked up as Aunt May began approaching them all.

"So, um, about this older brother of yours?" the blonde began. "How old is he?"

"17. Starts his last year in High School next term." Teresa explained. "And I can tell he's my brother because...he looks exactly like my birth father, while I look like my birth mother. He showed me a picture of them both, and the resemblance is uncanny. The only difference is we have the opposite eye color as them."

"Now that I've gotta see." the blonde said.

"Well, I see you've told them quite a bit about me and Peter." Aunt May noted.

"Sort of, Aunt May." Teresa said.

"So, aren't you gonna introduce me?" Aunt May asked.

"Um, right. Aunt May, these are my friends; Laura and Kari." Teresa explained, pointing at the black-haired girl first, then the blonde.

"Nice to meet you." Aunt May said.

"You too, Mrs..." Laura said.

"Parker. That's Teresa's birth name." Aunt May explained.

"Oh..." Laura said.

"Never got a chance to tell you." Teresa said.

"So, is Teresa's brother cute?" Kari asked.

Aunt May blinked and looked at her.

"She's been a bit boy crazy lately." Laura explained. "She's the eldest of the three of us."

"Oh, I see." Aunt May said. "Well, I'm sorry Kari, but my nephew's got a girlfriend already."

Kari gasped and blinked, while the other girls laughed at her.

"Better luck next time, Kari." Laura said.

Kari sighed and put her head down, as Teresa got up.

"Hey, you guys getting hungry?" she asked, changing the subject.

Laura looked at her watch, seeing it was well past lunch time.

"Well, yeah. It's nearly 1pm." she said.

"Well, in that case, we better get something to eat." Aunt May said, before she turned to an Italian restaurant called 'Fiola'. "Good thing there's a restaurant nearby."

The three young girls turned to the restaurant.

"Well then, let's go." Teresa said. "Come on?"

She led her friends towards it, as Aunt May smiled and followed them.

"She defiantly has quite a bit in common being friendly." she thought happily.

Back at the White House, the President was now standing behind the podium, giving out a speech about peoples' rights, with the other political figures sitting behind him, Gyrich on his left, Kelly on his right, and four Federal Agents standing around.

"...and so, my fellow Americans, that is why I intend to make this a better place." he explained. "Any questions?"

A blonde-haired woman held up her hand.

"Christine Everhart, WHiH World News." she explained. "By better place, do you mean for everyone, including well...?"

"That depends on how people behave, Ms. Everhart." the President explained. "Anyone who misbehaves, regardless of what they are, will be punished like normal."

"You mean Mutants will be treated like normal people?" a man asked harshly.

"Depending on how they behave." the President said.

"Should've figured they'd be Mutant haters here." Peter thought.

"Now, Senator Kelly would like to speak with you all." the President said.

Senator Kelly approached the podium as the President backed away, while the crowd clapped.

"Thank you, Mr. President." he said. "Now, as the President said, we're doing all this for the better of all mankind, as long as they behave themselves. While I'm no Mutant lover, unlike some people out there, I know better than to accuse all of them for the actions of a few."

"BOO!" some of the crowd roared, when Peter's Spider-Sense tingled.

"Huh?" he muttered.

He looked around, seeing nothing weird, before he took his phone out and dialled Jessica.

"Jess, did you're Spider-Sense go off?" he asked quietly.

"Yeah. You too?" Jessica asked.

"Yeah. It's never lied to me before, so something's coming." Peter deduced.

"Understood. I'll let the others know." Jessica said.

Peter put his phone away and looked around carefully, but couldn't see any trouble.

"...and it's for that reason, I believe in fairness to all people, and that the bad ones should be punished." Kelly concluded.

Several of the crowd clapped, while others looked annoyed, as they were the Mutant haters.

"Thanks for the news, Senator." came a cold voice.

Everyone gasped, as Peter made his way through the crowd, as did Jessica, Kurt and Natasha.

"Who said that?" Kelly called.

"I did!" came the voice.

"AH!" several reporters gasped, pointing up.

Everyone turned around and saw Taskmaster, Nitro, Absorbing Man and Cyclone on the rooftop, the former of which was he'd spoken. The heroes all around looked at them all, before Capt. America touched the side of his mask.

"Storm, did you and Rogue see them?" he asked.

Storm touched the X on her uniform.

"No. They came out of nowhere." she replied. "I don't get it."

"We were so busy lookin' at th' crowd, they must've decided t' attack from th' roof." Rogue deduced.

"Right. You two, Gambit and Nightcrawler stand by." Capt. America instructed. "When they mock how few of us Avengers are, you can join us."

"Understood." Storm said.

The four HYDRA members all jumped off the rooftop and landed in front of the crowd, as most of it backed away, while some of them moved towards them.

"Hey, stay back!" a Federal Agent demanded, holding his hand out.

One of the men approaching him smiled and punched him in the gut, knocking him onto his knees.

"Hey, what are you-" another Agent began.

Another of the men chopped him in the back, knocking him out, before all the men came towards the politicians.

"What do you want?" the President demanded. "I won't-"

"Oh, shut it, Mr. President!" Taskmaster snarled. "We have orders to eliminate several politicians here!"

All the politicians turned and ran towards the door, then inside the White House.

"Does that include me, the most powerful man in the country?" the President inquired, as Kelly and Gyrich joined the others.

"You could say that, but you're not the only one." Taskmaster smirked.

He reached down to grab the Preisdent, who braced himself and gulped.

"Not so fast, HYDRA!" came Capt. America's voice.

The HYDRA members all turned around, seeing the five Avengers who'd been watching the scene, all suited up now, coming towards them.

"Well, well, well, the Avengers?" Taskmaster smirked. "Was wondering when you'd show up?"

"You stay away from this place!" Capt. America yelled, as the President got up and ran towards them.

"Oh, yeah, right?" Taskmaster scoffed. "Like we'd just do that?"

Several of his men laughed, including Cyclone and Nitro, as the President got behind Black Widow.

"Yeah, you're crazy there, monsieur!" Cyclone laughed.

Black Widow and Hawkeye turned to the President, as the others got in front of them.

"Get outta here, Mr. President." Black Widow said. "We'll handle this."

"Right." the President said, nodding. "Good luck."

He turned and ran off, as the duo turned to the villains.

"He's getting away!" Absorbing Man exclaimed.

"We can get him later." Taskmaster said. "There's more inside the White House."

"You won't be killing anyone as long as we're around, HYDRA!" Capt. America swore, pointing at him.

"Nothing you stupid Avengers can do will stop us this time." Absorbing Man declared.

"Whatever you're planning, we will stop you, no matter what!" Spider-Woman swore, pointing at them.

"Yeah, right?" Nitro scoffed. "There's five of you and dozens of us."

"Actually, you're wrong!" came Storm's voice.

"Huh?" several HYDRA members muttered, including Nitro and Cyclone.

They all turned looked around, before the four X-Men came down - Nightcrawler back to normal - and landed near the Avengers, Storm and Rogue hovering.

"We are here to help!" Storm declared.

"And who the hell are you supposed to me?" Taskmaster snarled.

"We're the X-Men, Mutants who fight for peace and justice." Storm explained.

"Mutants?" Taskmaster snarled. "You mean as in those born with their abilities?"

"Ya guess righ' there, sugah." Rogue teased, winking.

Inside, some of the politicians were watching the fight from though the open windows, including Gyrich and Kelly.

"Wait, they're Mutant freaks out there!" Gyrich yelled loudly, getting everyone's attention. "You're in on this, aren't you! Avengers, take these freaks down!"

"What did you call them?!" Black Panther demanded, looking up.

"Freaks, that's what they are!" Gyrich snarled. "Why else do you think they're here!"

"Well, you're wrong, Mr. Gyrich!" Capt. America argued. "They're here because we asked them for help!"

This news shocked most of the people inside or those hiding and watching.

"What?" Kelly thought.

"Mutants? You're working with Mutants?!" Gyrich cursed. "Why, I oughta-"

He took out a pistol from his pocket, when a web-line hit it and pulled it out of his hands.

"Hey!" he complained.

He turned around, seeing Spider-Man clinging to the wall right above him.

"Uh-uh-uh. It's not nice to do that." he mocked, waving his right forefinger.

"Spider-Man?!" he exclaimed. "What are you-"

Spider-Man jumped off the wall and landed through the window in front of him.

"I'm helping my friends save you and everyone else here." he said firmly. "Why else do you think I'm here!"

"You're friends with Mutants?" Gyrich scowled.

"Yes, I am." Spider-Man said proudly. "In fact, three of my closet friends are Mutants, and you can't see they're here to help!"

Kelly blinked as he looked at the four Mutants charged in with the Avengers to fight all the HYDRA agents.

"You have Mutants for close friends?!" Gyrich snarled, clutching his fist. "They're an abomination to this world! A threat to society! They're all evil out there!"

"All evil?" Spider-Man scoffed. "I've heard that before, but every time I have, the Mutant in question was just attacked for no reason at all than because of how he looked! In my eyes, that's nothing but pure racism."

"Yeah, right?" Gyrich snarled. "When I get my friend Trask out, he'll-"

Spider-Man webbed up his mouth, having had enough of his mouth and racist terms, as everyone else gasped.

"Oh, keep that mouth of yours quiet!" he requested. "You're really annoying me here, and you know something, you sound just as bad as your friend Trask was. He's right where he belongs due to all he's done. Now, I better go help my friends."

He turned around and jumped out of the window to help with the fight, leaving some of the politicians speechless.

"You know, Spider-Man has a point, Gyrich, you are just pure racist, even worse than Trask." Kelly admitted. "Maybe we should wait and see how this turns out first."

Gyrich turned and glared at him, before he turned and ran off out of the room, about to do something bad.

"I don't think he cares, Robert." a man said.

In the Fiola restaurant, Aunt May sat at a table with Teresa and her friends, who sat opposite them both, while other people sat around the restaurant, while a TV played behind the counter.

"So, you and Peter live in New York?" Laura asked.

"Well, in the Queens area." Aunt May replied.

"Man, that's cool." Laura said.

"Totally." Kari agreed. "If ever you go and visit, Teresa, you better bring us back some pictures."

"I'll try." Teresa promised.

"We interrupt this program with an urgent Newsflash." a man on the TV said.

Everyone turned to it, as it began to show the fight outside the White House, before it moved to the corner of the screen, showing a Newsman behind a desk.

"We have recently received reports of fight taking place outside the White House, between several members of the criminal HYDRA organisation, and members of the Avengers, along with friends with theirs, including Spider-Man." the man reported.

Everyone was shocked by this news, with several people opening their mouths in shock, including Teresa, Kari and Laura.

"Oh, my God!" Kari gasped. "Spider-Man's here?"

"Wait; the White House?" Teresa gasped. "That's where Peter is?"

"I hope your brother's okay then." Laura said.

"If I know Peter, he will be." Aunt May assured. "Plus, since his job's photography, he'll probably get some shots first, from a safe place."

"Well, I'm sure he will be." Kari said. "If the Avengers brought Spider-Man here, they must've known something was gonna happen and called in for extra help."

"Yeah. His team's still protecting New York though." Laura reasoned. "They weren't brought up."

Aunt May turned to the three girls, who all looked at each other, before she turned back to the TV.

"Please be careful, Peter?" Aunt May thought worriedly, hoping her nephew would survive this.

To be continued...

A/N: When I found out Mary Parker's maiden name was Fitzpatrick - a common Irish surname - it's led me to believe Peter and Teresa might be part Irish from her side of the family, 1/8th or 1/16th at least.
