"Hey Darling! You're home!" Adam gets up to greet her. "Wow that's a lot of groceries." Adam pointed to the bags. "Hey baby! And yes I git a lot of food. You said the team was coming to watch the Super Bowl so I figured I would cook." Kim shrugged as she moved the bags to the kitchen. "Darling we could have ordered out. We've barely been home and you need to rest. Let me help at least." Adam asked knowing he wasn't much help in the kitchen. "Fine here is the recipe for the buffalo chicken dip. It's really easy to make. Then start cutting the veggies for the tray. I bought pre made dip to go with it. I'm gonna start the dessert as it will take longer than other items to make." The couple both got started making the buffet for super bowl. Kim wasn't really interested but Adam was so she wanted to make the effort.
It took right around three hours to prep everything for the party and Kim still hadn't changed out if her rehearsal clothes yet. She was too busy trying to make a perfect night and perfect event. That was kind of her thing. They were both caught off gourd when the door bell rang as they had lost track of time preparing. Kim answered the door while Adam finished getting the party coolers ready with lots of beer and waters. "Hello! Welcome! Come on in." Kim opened the door wider for Adams friends to enter. "Thanks for having us!" Kevin spoke for the group as they all hugged Kim. "You are so welcome! There is tons of food and drinks in the kitchen. Please help yourselves. I'm just gonna change quick." Kim left the room embarrassed that they saw her dressed like that.
The team looked confused as she scurried off. "Hey guys! She's not used to people seeing her dressed down like that. She feels like she should be dressed better when hosting. She will be fine." Adam answered the unspoken question before handing out beers to his friends. "I liked her outfit. It was real you know. Like how I dress going to the gym. She definitely didn't have to change on my account." Erin offered as she looked over the food. "So Kim and I, mostly Kim, cooked everything including the desserts. So please eat up. We have buffalo chicken dip, meats and cheeses, veggie tray, meatball sliders, mini tacos and mini empanadas and lastly chips and salsa. And I think she made a cheesecake and brownies from scratch." Adam explained as the team dug in to the food that was all ready to be eaten and staying warm in warming trays.
When Kim returned everyone had a plate of food and a drink. She felt like she could relax now. Food was done, guests were here and she was dressed appropriately. "Hey Kim? You looked fine the way you were. You didn't have to change." Jay stated as he got another plate. "Thank you but it was drilled into my head to be proper and this is much more proper than before." Kim appreciated the sentiment but this made he4 feel better. "Love your hair like that!" Erin started looking over at Kim. "Thanks it's been in a bun all day so it stays curly when I remove the Bobby pins. But I love that I don't have to fight too much with it." Kim shrugged since it wasn't on purpose. The game played out in front of the team as they cheered. Kim watched but wasn't paying close attention. Her phone dinging got their attention. "Everything okay?" Adam asked when she returned. "Oh yeah just Steven reminding me that I wanted to test the new brand of shoes this week. They are much more expensive but supposed to last a whole month. So I want to test that out. I just need to get my supplies to break them in." Kim walked to her studio returning with the new shoes and a basket full of supplies.
Kim worked to break in the new shoes, from the outside it looked like destroying the shoe but everyone had a different way to break them in and this was her way. Adam was watching amused and surprised as she took scissors to the shoes, a lighter to the ribbons and cut out part of the insole with a box cutter. After a few stitches she protected her toes and covered them as she slid the shoes on. She walked closer to the studio to practice her foot work in them to make sure the fit was right and that they were steady in her feet. During the half time show Kim went into the studio to dance in the shoes checking them out more. Adam and the team watched for a bit before returning to the show and the game. Once Kim was somewhat satisfied with the shoes she changed them and served dessert to the group.
While the team ate dessert Kim cleaned up the dishes from the starters and packed up the leftovers. There really wasn't much left but she made sure they were stored properly for Adam to eat later. The dishwasher was loaded and Kim was back to sitting with the group watching the second half of the game. Adam pulled her in to his lap holding her tight as the game played on. They both felt her phone buzz, he looked at her briefly before looking back to the game. Kim pulled out her phone to reply to the text before returning her attention to the game. "Everything okay?" He whispered not wanting to make a big deal out of it. "Yeah just this group of friends I have had a super bowl party and they were sharing photos. The guy in the middle I met years ago in a restaurant at the bar. We became friends, we hang out often but he had a stroke on New Year's Day. I've gone to visit him in the hospital while you worked. I didn't think he was up to having the party but this one person thought I was wrong and put it together at his home. The photos are her trying to tell me I was wrong. So nothing major just petty bullshit." Kim shrugged.
"Well I think you were right. He looks tired and he looks great for having a stroke 6 weeks ago but that's pushing it for sure. You're a good friend." Adam kissed her cheek before watching the game again. "I've been taking him approved foods and desserts since he doesn't like the hospital food. He lost like 15 pounds in there so we have to fatten him up again. Keep his strength up. Lots of protein, low sodium, healthy fats. It's a lot for his grandson to handle who's not much younger than me but I didn't grow up with a maid and eating out every meal. So I help out as much as I can." Kim shrugged again before resting her head against his shoulder. Closing her eyes to enjoy the calm he provided. "You are such an amazing women Kim. I'm so proud of you." Adam kisses her head then watched the game. No further words were spoken about the topic. They just focused on the game before them. And the friends that surrounded them.
As the game ended the group continued to hang out chatting about the couples trip to New York and Atlantic City which was last minute so it was a surprise to the group. "This chick and her friend were massive drunk, so was I, but these girls decided to jump on the stripper poles in the club. It was insane. We didn't get to bed till 2. Got up at 7 still drunk as hell to get ready to leave. We get in the car at 8 with a car service still drunk and Kim has the guy pull over at a convenience store to buy coffee and lots of carbs before we ever got to the airport. I thought she was nuts but I got to say neither had a hang over after we finally caught up on sleep." Adam was explaining as Kim looked mortified. "Darling don't be embarrassed! You had fun, you looked amazing and no one got hurt. But the best part for me was watching you scarf down a donut moaning in happiness. I never thought I would see the day you enjoyed junk food like that." The group laughed knowing he was right. "Only when I'm super drunk and need to sober up fast!" Kim laughed knowing it was funny to see.
"Well then let's get you drunk!" Kevin laughed loudly. "No way! Too much Friday night! I need a break for awhile. Also I need to focus on work, I slacked out last week. Only two weeks left till opening day so I have to focus." Kim laughed a little thinking about how crazy she had been last week. "I have a question. Did you get to keep the dress from the gala?" Erin asked trying to change the topic. "No I didn't get to keep it. After a few months and press dies down I might get it but it depends on how popular the dress was and if he wants to display it. But it's okay. I have a tons of dresses and I doubt I could rewear that dress ever again." Kim explained. "Yes you do and some new shoes as well." Adam smirked. "Oh hush! The joy those shoes brought was worth every penny! And you know it!" Kim laughed knowing he was still shocked about the shoes and money spent on them. "Yeah yeah holy grail of shoes!" Adam laughed as the team laughed watching them bicker playfully.
"Well let's She these holy grail shoes!" Jay teased enjoying this immensely. "Oh no probably! Be right back!" Kim ran out of the room giggling gleefully. She returned minutes later prancing around in the shoes. Adam laughed loving her being so happy because of the shoes. "Okay they are pretty fantastic." Erin stated. "I have been looking for these for 6 years! There's only like 15 made. So they are rare and it was like an urban myth. I'm so happy to have them." Kim danced around loving how the shoes felt and how they made her feel. "Wait are those Manolos?" Erin asked amazed. "Yup! And I'm so happy!" Kim kept dancing eventually heading back to the closet to lock them away.
After she returned they decided to play Cards against Humanity before leaving for the night. It had truly been a blast. Kim started to clean up the rest of the dishes as Adam cleaned up the card game. Once the apartment looked normal again the couple headed to bed exhausted from the day they had. But they were happy and had enjoy it all. The next morning life got back to normal for the couple. Kim was back doing rehearsals everyday and working out hard. Adam returned to work chasing criminals and working out as well. They had different work out routines but they were both passionate about being fit. Kim was always looking for new classes and new ways to get fit while Adam stayed with the same routine in the gym with the guys. So it didn't surprise Adam when he got home to find Kim excited about a new bungee workout out. She had already signed up for the class and was watching videos of similar classes online.
"Well that looks interesting. When is the class?" Adam asked knowing her so well. "Friday night. Next week my friend is bringing her students into town for lessons so if I don't do it this week I can't till May so I'm doing it. Kim explained rushed since she was excited. "Well Friday it is then. It looks fun and looks kind of hard but I know you will have a great time. So let's talk about next week with the students?" Adam asked as he sat next to her. "Well my friend Jennifer took over the company in Staten Island and the dancers need help. I showed you the video. So anyway she's bring the main dancers, all 8 of them to watch rehearsals everyday to see how it's supposed to be done and then they are coming here to work the steps properly. Their foot work sucks, the arm work sucks,their hands not right. The flow is rushed and unnatural movements. It all needs work. One week won't fix it but it will help them. I also doubt they practice at home. They won't like me but they will improve." Kim sighed knowing it's a big job ahead.
"You have your work cutout for you but I'm here to help. Even if it's just stocking water bottles for you all. Or towels or whatever to guys need for class." Adam has no idea what the classes were actually like. "You know you could join the class?" Kim smiled slyly at him. "Ha what class are you talking about it? The bungee or your classes here?" Adam asked amused. "Well I thought about the bungee class but I would love to see you in my class too. It's great for flexibility and for core strength." Kim smiled hoping to convince him. "We will see if I can get out of work in time. As for the other, I want private lessons." Adam smirked knowing it wouldn't work as they would end up laughing and playing with each other instead of actually working out. "We shall see! I would love to see you workout with me. Especially the Pilates machine. That would be fun!" Kim laughed as she move to straddle Adams lap.
