Lilith was basking over the shores of Paradise, enjoying the life of the Golden Kingdom. But as comfortable as she was trying to get, she couldn't shake off the fact that recently, she was given an ultimatum, involving the death of Adam, and her own daughter. Some may say, it wasn't ideal, what she had done to stay in Heaven, just some alluded time away from the place she was crowned Queen of. Seven years…that's not too long is it? But now, she hears that her daughter threatens Heaven and in order keep her end of the bargain, she must stop her. While she hadn't seen Charlie in that long, a part of Lilith told her that she still cares, that she would understand. But would she really have to compromise all that Charlie was trying to achieve all for the sake of having no a "little" time to herself?
She then heard the sounds of footsteps coming their way. She thought it was going to be Lute again, and Lilith was very tempted to silence her for a little more peace of mind. But these steps were heavier, sinking through the sand, approaching slowly, more gently. She didn't bother to look who it was as the person, a tall man, came by to stand next to her.
"It's a beautiful sight…" He began with. "…Peaceful…the endless ocean below a golden sky…by the sun never sets here…that's the one thing I missed about earth."
Through her shades, Lilith glanced to see the man wearing a nobleman's uniform, Victorian in style based on the coat. She didn't see his face though as he kept talking…
"The sunsets there are the most beautiful anyone could see. I'm sure you've experienced it once in your life..." He went on. "…How I miss the chances to be there…holding the hand of my beloved in one…and the hands of my children in the other…but you still have that chance, don't you?"
Deciding to see her at eye level, the man went and laidback besides Lilith on the beach, and she could see that he wore a white cravat with a golden jewel around his neck. Her skin was smooth and youthful, but she still couldn't recognize him.
"Your daughter is trying so hard to do right by both Kingdoms." Lilith has almost had it with everyone bringing up her daughter. Though cruel as it sounded, Charlie was the last thing that she wanted in her mind. "To give others a second chance, to be redeemed and show them there's more to their life than just pain, misery and eventually…oblivion…And yet, everyone's against her. Heaven condemns her, Hell hates her, their own Princess, the Heir to a Black Throne…she's like an Angel. A real angel amongst the darkness. Takes after her father, before his own fall, of course. Back when he wanted to do right by everyone. She's a really nice, fine young woman…it's a shame her own mother hasn't been there to support her."
Lilith held a scowl on her beautiful face, wanting to tear this man's throat out, just to get him to shut up. She didn't want to hear anymore. She wants peace. Whatever decision she'd make, involving her daughter, it would be hers to make alone. Not under the influence of others. And the day she's ready to face her again, it'll be at her own time, on her own accord. But the man continued to talk…
"I know you made a deal to get a chance to live here once more…was it really worth it though ? With everything that's happened, I would've hoped that you'd show some semblance of humanity, care for your people and…your family…I may have turned on my fellow demons a lifetime ago, but I would go back and stop the angels from slaughtering them so unjustly…"
That is when Lilith finally turned her head to get a full view of this person…and she lowered her sunglasses to show her raised eyebrow when she saw the monocle, the slicked back hair, the face of the infamous Hell Knight, Sparda. Or at least now, the Archangel Sparda.
"You and I both know that Heaven has corrupted itself, professing its purity through genocide that threatens the balance of both Realms. And your daughter may be the one to stop this from happening, but everyone just seems to make her more miserable and hopeless every chance they get." He said. "Even now, heartless forces of evil plot destroy their way of life down there, destroy any hope of your daughter seeing her dream realized. Her own colleague may support her now, but even they will begin to doubt her plans and they cannot be with her forever, no matter how hard she tries…"
Despite that this man, this…truly redeemed devil laying by her side, speaking with a silver tongue that preached the truth, it was still the last thing Lilith wanted to hear as she turns away from him. Sparda let out a heavy sigh.
"You know I'm right Lilith. Adam's actions have already been a threat to the balance, causing damage that possibly cannot be undone. Why stay out of it? When even this place is at risk of its own annihilation…"
He gestures to the Paradise before them. She didn't know it yet, but his words beginning to sink in. The fate of every kingdom, every paradise is its eventual destruction by the hands another and what has happened so far may have accelerated in its terrible destiny; in the effort to try and diminish that fate, both Heaven and Hell are only seeing it through. Sparda was right, that much Lilith knew; that Angels and Demons have begun to open up a can of worms and if her daughter was truly the one to set things straight…perhaps one visit wouldn't kill her again. But she still, she stubbornly wished it to be on her time, not under the influence of another…
It was time for Sparda to make himself scarce, looking back he saw the Joy of his Life, Eva, the mother of his children, the woman he gave everything for, standing at the edge of the beach, wearing gold and white clothing, still looking as human as before, but she was indeed an Angel...maybe one of the best that Heaven has among them. She knew her husband was here and the reason for, and since she trusted him with her life, their faith in each other, she trusted him to get through to Lilith.
Sparda got back up on his feet and bid Lilith farewell. "I know you feel like not taking my word for it. But please, think it over, Lilith. You want to not feel manipulated by anyone else...then don't be. But you know right from wrong...and have the will to do so."
As the former Hell Knight headed back to his own love, Lilith took one last gander at them. At one point, would Lilith wanted something like they did, a joy of creation in family, in love. And yet, she felt at this point that she only loved herself. That was the demon in her...the human side still wanted it. She loved the family she once had, once upon a time ago. She loved her daughter...and if anyone ever would threaten her life...she would make a mockery of Sparda's Wrath.
...Perhaps the Knight did have a point. Maybe...it was time for a family reunion...
This was actually inspired by a story called "Hazbin May Cry" by @StarDustDragonknight, where he said that Sparda was able to be in Heaven with Eva, and he was an Archangel. And given what happened in the show, I wanted to Sparda to be the voice of reason that would tell Lilith to do the right thing.
I love the DMC/HH crossover and wanna see it continued.
I know they take suggestions. Maybe they'll see this and I'll get fortunate enough to see this on one of their chapters, but eh. A guy can dream.
Let me know what you guys think.
